Came here on a friends recommendation. Let me say one thing, you won't be disappointed! We ordered the Tortorice's deep dish pizza, mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers. Best pizza I have had. Thank you Billy!!

Excellent pizzas! Excellent mozzarella sticks. Delivery right on time. Looking forward to our next order.

So the very same day that I posted my first review about my delivery experience, I recieved a message from the owner, who apologized for everything and offered to give us a meal on the house to make up for the inconvenience. This was NEVER about the quality of the food- as I mentioned in my first review- Their pizza is absolutely delicious and my husband and I have been long time customers, for the simple fact that ANYTHING we have ever ordered from their is flavorful, a generous amount and at a reasonable price. I can now say that my faith in good customer service has been restored at Totorice's- The owner made it a point to promptly reach out and address the situation not only with me and my husband, but also with his staff member to assure that something like wouldn't happen again. I definitely respect that. Since then, we've gone back and ordered another pizza and OF COURSE, it was GREAT and our server was very nice! I'm a happy customer! Thank you Totorice's!

I passed by here many times and wrote it off because I thought their advertising looked ridiculous from the outside. This is one of the best chicago style zas in the neighborhood. I've tried the thin crust, the deep dish, multiple toppings, and never been disappointed. Actually, they've all been great. Give it a shot - I wouldn't come here to dine in but this could be your go-to place for take out.

  • Courtney M.

Ordered their thin crust and the big appetizer for delivery. Most of the stuff in the appetizer was soggy but the pizza was good. Felt like papa johns would have done the trick just as easily.

Lots of things to order than just pizza here - first they have plenty of lunch menu items and specials all under 10 comes with a side and drink! They have thin dish - and stuffed dish pizza both r extremely good! The wings are big and thick. Friendly service and waiting time is not long at all. Don't get fooled by all this big name places it's the little places where it's at !!

I've been getting delivery from here once a month and all my guests LOVE their pizza. They ask me where I get the pizza from and I proudly tell them Tortorice's. I never did the dine-in experience so I won't be able to review on that but food is superb.

Amazing? Delicious? Best Pizza??? Well, I have absolutely no idea if all these people meant another restaurant. After a long distance flight and hours of walking around to check my neigborhood for next days, I thought a thin crust pizza makes a perfect end. I already read all these great reviews, but I have to say, that it was just okay. Could be better, could also be worse. However, it's recommandable but I am also sure that out there are better Pizzas! I mean, I had much better ones in Germany! And we are not the best in making pizzas :) But anyway, check it out for yourself. Thank you Bill for your comment for my review. I definitly know the taste of Pizza. I had Pizza in several cities in the U.S., in Canada, France and in Italy as well. I know what I was writing about. But anyway, this shows that you can't except and can't live with any critisism. Yelp is a platform for everybody and not only for people who perfectly fit to your business!! If you can't live with other reviews, get out of here!

I think it's either a hit or miss with this place. First time I ordered the thin crust sausage and mushroom pizza and it was so good.. And wings.. So huge! Haha Then the second time my Roomate and I ordered the deep dish.. Not so great. I immediately felt awful after eating it and got sick...just to spare you the details. I mean the service is super friendly! Sorry that I have use that as a coverup to my last comment... But they really were nice and the delivery driver was nice too. He brought the pizza up all the way instead of just having me meet him downstairs and outside. Prices average like most pizza places around here. I wouldn't say they're were pretty expensive. I mean the deep dish was pretty cheap but I guess that's what we paid for. if you're looking for a quick pizza fix I'd say just stick with the thin crust.. But maybe steer clear of everything else?

Sorry, but ordered pizza and ravioli to the hotel. Pizza wasn't good and ravioli was doughy. I ended up throwing most of it away and I hate throwing away food. It was just really bad. Oh, no napkins and utensils either. Had to improvise a way to eat the ravioli. Delivery was 75 minutes.

It's Friday night and you know what that means....you can find me eating PIZZA on my couch watching bad movies. I ordered the garden salad with blue cheese dressing, which I had to ask for because there were no ordering clarification questions when I called. Clarification, like what kind of crust do you want? They have thin, double dough, pan, deep dish AND stuffed. I would think the type of crust I was ordering would be a major question they would need to ask. I ordered a 14" thin crust tortorice special, that's sausage, mushroom, onion and green peppers. Total wait time for the pick up order was 20 minutes...and if you're not there on the dot they call you! The salad was nice and big with iceberg lettuce, tomato wedges, sliced mushrooms, black olives, red onion, carrot shavings and sliced green pepper rings. The dressing was okay, it was fairly smooth creamy blue cheese rather than a crumbled cheese or creamy dressing with big chunks which I much prefer. The thin crust was nice and held up well under all the toppings. But as I devoured my way to the edge, you know that quarter inch on the end that is JUST crust, it wasn't memorable or that great. A little floury, very crunchy and flavorless IMO...the dog liked it. They do have a small makeshift looking alley lot on the side of the building so parking or a quick stop for pickup is super easy...but Grand Ave isn't that busy in this area so street parking is just as easy too. One 14" pizza + one large salad = $30.64.

So disappointing. Ordered a thin with sausage, onion, green pepper, black olives and mushrooms. Absolutely no flavor from the sauce, the cheese, the meat, or the vegetables. The side salad with their homemade low fat ranch dressing was ok. Only because the veg seemed fresh. The ranch was completely unremarkable with no hint of garlic or herbs. The best thing was the prepackaged slice of Eli's cheesecake, which I needed to add to qualify for delivery on grub hub.

I had a chance to try their new caramelized deep dish. It was the best pizza I ever had and was considerably better than Pequods caramelized pizza (atleast in my opinion). The crust is caramelized and doughy/soft in all the right places. Toppings are high quality too. I've also had the picasso pizza, which is a treat of it's own unique nature. Their deep dish pizza is easily a top contender for Chicago's most famous pizza joints. Highly recommended. They really need to expand their delivery range though!

    (5)
  • Brian F.

Delivery was fast and they driver was polite. The Pizza itself wasn't great...too much cheese and not enough sauce on the deep dish with caramelized crust. It's likely a personal preference thing (I'm partial to Pequads), but there are better places to order deep dish.

Anytime I frequent this place to pick up my pizza I remember Rihanna's song "we found love". This place is pretty boss especially considering the wack selections you have around town. Also not a bad deal if you got the coups, I think its around $20 for a large pizza with some wings. I've been going with the thin crust, not sure if these guys know what they're doing with the pan pizza's just yet. I had the pan pizza at the mount prospect location and thought one of those other chain places did it a little better (but I could be wrong). Only suggestion is you guys should lower the prices on the specialty pizza's so maybe i'd give them a try. I want to try your $33 mexican pizza but gas isn't cheap and milk ain't $0.99 anymore. Regardless, I'm a fan.

This one was a surprise; the double dough was tasty and the other items I tried as part of a large dinner party were also quite good, although desserts were a bit of a letdown (cheesecake and chocolate brownies). The toppings on the pizza were not quite as much as I was hoping for, but that didn't stop me from reaching in to grab slices 2, 3 and 4! I want to try this again, maybe as takeout and with the thin crust pies, to see what I really think but this was a great start.

  • Amy S.

This is an a-okay pizza place. They offer a big slice of pizza, a drink, and fries and/or soup, which is made daily, for less than $6. There is free parking in the back. The pizza is thick and big, but I would only come back if I was already in the area. I wish there was an option for deep dish pizza!

  • Jack R.

Pretty standard chicago deep dish pizza joint. Got a 16" deep dish pizza w/ pepperoni, and mushroom. The ingredients were tasty, the cheese was good, and the sauce was good. Except for one thing: The sauce was poured all over half the pizza, and the other half was sauce-less. The pizza is more on the doughy side (Which I personally enjoy), but if you're more of a toppings lover it may not be the pizza for you. I'd go back, but wouldn't be my first choice for pizza.

Had some delivery to my hotel on a very cold, slushy, snowy layover. The delivery time was prompt. I didn't get any napkins or anything, so you may need to ask for it specifically if you need it. I ordered the Picasso style pizza with spinach, olive, and giardiniera. It was DELICIOUS. Buttery thin crusts layered with cheese plus toppings, sauce, and more cheese on top! So, so good. It was a great variation on the typical Chicago style stuffed pizza. Hot wings were pretty good. Had I been eating in restaurant and got them fresh I'm sure they would have been fantastic. Their homemade ranch dressing was also very good. I also ordered some cheddar stuffed jalapeños. You have a choice of cheddar or cream cheese so I made the assumption that those were handmade. But they seemed just like run of the mill, frozen jalapeños you can buy at the grocery store. Not much flavor or spice. Despite the jalapeños I will most definitely order from them again on my next layover.

So I ordered a "Chicago Style Deep Dish" large pizza to be delivered to my house. What I actually got was a soupy, sloppy, disgusting mess. The crust was not thick at all. There was supposed to be half pepperoni on it, which there wasn't. I don't know if the pizza fell over in the car or if the driver played catch with the box before delivering it, but whatever happened to the pizza was unacceptable. The box was so soggy that it fell apart. When we opened the pizza I was appalled. There is no way anyone would think that it would have been okay giving someone who paid $50 for pizza and an appetizer that sloppy mess. I have never been given such a disgrace of a pizza before. I am so disappointed especially because the reviews are all relatively positive. It looks like I'll be going elsewhere for my Chicago Deep Dish from now on.

The food is always great and the delivery is usually pretty fast. The only complaint I have is if you get cheese fries delivered; the plastic cup the cheese comes in can't withstand the heat of the cheese. The last 3 times we ordered them, half the cheese has leaked into the bag. Up until now I wrote it off as "maybe it's a one off?" But now it's pretty consistent. Please guys, if you are reading this find another receptacle to put your cheese in. Just honest feedback from a usually happy and regular customer.

Ok I'm a fan. Trust that's not an easy accomplishment. Just moved to the neighborhood and this place has been a saving grace. Ordered a few different pizzas each one has been spot on! Please keep the cook employed and compensated for the greatness!

Had their pan pizza delivered and I was taken aback at how amazing it was. This is definition good pizza. They ain't messing around over there. Thick crust that is hard and soft in all the right places. Generous amount of cheese, borderline deep dish. I could only eat 2 slices and I'm a "I'll eat the whole pizza if you don't stop me"kind of guy. Wow. So good. 10/10 will buy again.

If Chicago Cops dig the place, it's usually good stuff. A decade and a few years more ago, there was a popular fast food chain that offered a certain dollar amount of food to Chicago Police on a daily basis and based on my first sentence, the statement wouldn't hold much value. But think of any Italian restaurant or diner that you've seen Cops dine at on a daily basis. Tortorice's pizza is one of those places. I was headed to Bridgeport to hang with family. Decided on using a Groupon I was keeping for such an evening. Ordered a couple pizzas, one thin and the other deep dish. The thin was a Tortorice's special and the deep was ordered with a few toppings. Being my first trial from this location, it's best to go light on the pizza. Also got a salad that was large enough to feed three. The food was ready before the allotted time and I should add that I ordered the thin crust some twenty minutes before picking up our food. The food was good, pizza was tasty and I could see ordering from them again in the future. A few slices were more than enough and with a side of salad, it rounded out a full belly. My cousins loved the pizza and since they live locally, had decided to trying them the next time dinner delivery is necessary. Good value.

Review by Becky: Wow. I'm done with this place! The past 4 times I've picked up pizza from here with my boyfriend our order has been wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently it's very very very hard to make a pizza with regular crust that's half cheese and half sausage! I called to complain that my order was wrong again 2 weeks ago. I spoke with the owner and informed him that this is the fourth time that this has happened. I did not care for his attitude regarding his incompetent staff. He offered me 20% off our next order and refused and kind of got nasty with me. Excuse me? I don't think so. Then he sarcastically asked me if I wanted a gift certificate for $100 to cover the pizzas. Ummm no. I wanted my money back or a free pizza. Finally he agreed to a give us a free pizza for next time. FUCK it. Never coming back. Get rid of your attitude! We really wanted to support this neighborhood business but we are done. I don't like the owner's attitude and like to add that we've been to this pizza joint almost 10 times now and every time we see the owner he doesn't recognize us as regular customers. He asks us every time if it's our first time there! WTF.

Not sure how they've gotten such high reviews in Chicago. I saw another reviewer complaining that they didn't put silverware on their delivery order. I purposely noted I need silverware and yet they still didn't include it. They know they're delivering to a hotel and it's pasta...not sure what they'd expect from their customer. What irked me the most was when the delivery person came by, I specifically asked her did you guys put silverware in the bag? She said, did you ask for it? I said yes. She says oh, then they must have put it in the bad... The food by itself would have been a 3 at most. The ingredients on the pizza I got were okay, but the crust/cheese/sauce were terrible. The pasta was about the same you'd expect from something you microwaved. The deep fried shrimp was definitely over fried. Would not recommend.

Their Pan-style pizza and wings are outstanding! Most pizza places that also offer wings completely suck, not this place! Meaty and delicious. Our go-to delivery pizza spot in the west loop!

After living in the West Loop for many years, I found it difficult to find a pizza place in the area that I really liked. Then I discovered Totorice's, and this is pretty much the only place I order pizza from these days. I haven't dined in, or had anything other than their thin-crust pizza (with spinach, tomato and garlic), but man do I like their thin crust pizza! I just ordered one Saturday night and it was great.

This is the place we've been looking for! Wife and I moved a couple years ago and Pete's Pizza on Western (our Favorite) won't deliver this far south (Humboldt Park). We've been looking for something similar and Tortorice's is it. We got a deep fried appetizer platter thing (wings, chicken strips, mozzarella sticks, various battered and fried stuff) and a meatball, sausage and green olives regular crust pizza (I think this is what's called "pub style" but not 100%, but anyway). The fried apps thing was great, the batter actually had flavor (so much battered stuff is super-bland), the mozz sticks were particularly yummy. The pizza was delicious too, great crust and sauce, lots of cheese and meat toppings and obviously quality ingredients. Prompt delivery and professional staff. Will totally order Tortorice's again, a classic Chicago Italian pizza delivery place.

If you dip your pizza in ranch dressing, this place is for you. Just bad pizza. Acidic sauce, too much cheese, boring crust. It just is not good enough to exist in the city of Chicago. They started in the suburbs and this is their first city location from what I have heard. The ladies behind the counter were very sweet. This place belongs next to a gas station in Schaumburg.

This place is fantastic. Ordered delivery and all the food arrived hot and was delicious. Ahead of schedule as well. The Picasso pizza was nothing short of spectacular. We went to the restaurant tonight and the experience was great. Staff was so friendly. They had crayons and activities for our two year old who had such a good time she didn't want to leave. Ordered items other than pizza tonight and everything was great. We are going back for sure.

Again, Not a bad pizza. But something went wrong with the delivery. Although we had the thing settled, It appears someone messed up the pizza. But all in all, The pizza wasn't bad at all.

Best slice...Tortorice's Way! The slice was STACKED with sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. The meat and veggies are fresh and perfectly cooked. As a New Yorker, it's hard to admit this was the best pizza I've ever had.

Ordered a deep dish burnt crust pizza with sausage, pepperoni and green peppers with extra sauce well done. The service was amazing but I must say the pizza was hot on delivery and taste was amazing. I stopped in to thank them one day when I was in the area, staff was nice and Billy was amazing always making sure everyone is happy and food is excellent. Keep up the good work also when I stopped in I ordered steak sandwich and salad ... Just amazing again taste was all there. This pizzeria will be a weekly stop for me .

This pizza is incredible!! A friend told me about this place and how good the pizza is, it was a bit out of my way but I'm sure glad that I stopped in!! The service was great, and the food was just as described.....delicious!! I also tried the wings and ribs which were so amazing I had to ship them back to my family in LA to enjoy. My friends and I ended up ordering another pizza late night. Tortorice's twice in one day....spoiled!!

Accidentally called this place last night and I am sure glad I did. (They have the same # as the previous pizza place that was here) After a minute of confusion figuring out where I had called, I got on the phone with the new owner who was very helpful. Ordered a small thin crust that was delicious, a Greek salad (underwhelming, just lettuce and some feta cheese, with 2 olives and 2 peppers) and some tasty fried mushrooms. The owner said the meatballs were good, so I added 2 of them and Mama Mia am I happy I did. They were mouth wateringly good. I was yelling "That's a spicy meat-a-ballah" to myself the rest of the night. Our driver (didn't get his name) was AWESOME. Just a cool, fun, happy, nice guy. Great representative of your company. Even if the food wasn't that great, I would order from here because this guy was so good. There is no question I will call this place again. Great price, tasty food and fantastic service.

Great pizza! Just received a coupon in the mail today as though it was meant to be! There was some confusion over the pricing but it worked out in the end. The man who delivered was very kind! We ordered the deep dish and mozzarella sticks - definitely the best sticks, ever!

Quaint friendly place. My husband had stopped in at lunch one day for a slice of pizza and really enjoyed it, so he suggested we give it a try for a casual pizza dinner. It's no secret that I'm always up for a good pizza. The place is cozy with dark wood floors and a couple of TV's on the east wall, a bit long and narrow which leaves the tables a bit close, however there are enough tables you shouldn't be next to anyone unless they're very busy. Which hopefully will happen because we don't want to see them close up, as the previous pizza place did. They did seem to be doing a lot on the delivery side though. You order/pay at the counter and pick a table, they'll give you a number which we sort of laughed about since we were the only people there, so I can't see how there could be a mix up. We had salads first and a double dough pizza. The salads were fresh, cold and crisp I know it seems obvious that it's what a salad should be, but so many places don't put any care into giving you a have decent salad. The double dough pizza really wasn't thick, it did have a hardy crunch, but still was sort of thin. The cheese was top quality, must be whole milk, not skim. The sauce was slightly spicy with a peppery finish, and plentiful. Mushrooms were fresh, and the sausage was a bit on the mild side, maybe missing fennel, but still good and not greasy. They also do a thin crust and a stuffed, I'm curious about these and will be back to give each a try. I know there are plenty of pizza places in the immediate area, however I suggest you give this place a try, if anything get a slice a slice isn't a big commitment.

I went back last night to give this place a third chance. My review mentioned that I might do that. That was a serious mistake and the experience (with the owner, this time) was totally CREEPY. Everything was OK until I got handed my slice and drink and sat down to eat it in peace. He or one of his workers evidently recognized me and connected me with my prior review. Suddenly, this guy starts walking around me and quite loudly asking me, 'IS EVERTHING OK?" "ARE YOU OK" and 'DO YOU WANT A PLATE" and inquiring if this was my first visit - and he winds up telling me that I'd been in on Tuesday and had written a review in Yelp. I asked him to sit down with me so I could tell him eyeball to eyeball the problems I'd experienced. And I did. He was like "You didn't have to tell the world!" and then "Why didn't you talk to me" and I told him that I though the people I did talk to at the time were in charge. He starts getting more and more angry, even when I told him that I thought his pizza was great and that it was all about service. Then he's saying "WHY DID YOU COME BACK?" He announces to me "I OWN SIX RESTAURANTS!" Then he launched into a sticcatto tirade, several times, of "GOD BLESS YOU, GOD BLESS YOU" while I'm trying to eat my slice. The he goes over to his cashier, pulls up my review, and announces to his cashier, 'READ WHAT THIS "GENTLEMAN" POSTED ABOUT US." Well, at least he didn't slug me, but the question kept going through my mind whether I was in physical danger. This guy was loud, rude, and at least as it seemed to me, seriously menacing in his tone. There are lots of ways of dealing with negative comments and opinions. One of them is to learn from the experience and make improvements. This guy's creepy response was to menace me. So if you review this place, you'd damn well only say really nice and glowing things, cuz if the owner can connect you with anything else, he's prone to come out, embarrass you, and make you wish that you hadn't given the place another chance. Done with this place. And for what it's worth, the pizza wasn't as good last night as it had been earlier.

Ordered delivery from Tortorice today for at lunch. There was a $25 minimum, so I had to order like WAY more than I needed. I had one slice thin crust of cheese, which was really good. Then I had to order a whole Chicago Deep Dish. I mean... it was OK. For sure deep dish is better fresh, so I'm sure the delivery had something to do with it. The sauce and cheese and so forth are good, but that buttery/flaky crust just didn't seem to be up to par. Next time I'd definitely stick with the regular slices - hopefully visit in-person.

This place knows their pizza. Sauce is amazing (order extra), they're generous with their ingredients, always cooked to perfection and delivery is FAST. I've also eaten in and I must say- it is VERY apparent that the owner Billy, appreciates and values every single customer. He is authentic and genuine about his product's quality, and the service of bringing it freshly to your door. The delivery line during dinner hour is truly remarkable to observe - it's an understatement to say that Billy has a talent for efficiency! There's a reason this place has been in business for over 40 years- they are SERIOUS about making you happy!

I grew up in a Chicago suburb and we always ordered from the same place which just recently closed after 40+ years in business. Tortorice's was like a warm hug that reminded me of my parents going out on Friday to pick up pizza. It made me nostalgic and it was delicious! It was the perfect kind of thin with great, quality toppings and cut into squares. We also had chicken strips and they were really good. Real chicken with a tasty breading. On top of good food, we had great service. From the sweet lady who took our order and the friendly delivery guy who drove back just to bring us our free soda-- which he noticed, we didn't even call. We will definitely order again. I'm looking forward to trying more items and giving them their fifth star.

I came here at midnight on Saturday and the lights were on but the doors were locked, the tables and chairs raised, and it was clear the place had closed. Just then, the owner drove up in his car, asked me what I wanted, unlocked the door for me, and gave me several huge slices of pizza. You guys just got a customer for life every time I'm in the neighborhood. Class act.

After going to Tortorice's Pizza on Grand Avenue about several times, I found that almost everything on the menu was really good and kept me going back for more. Of course the pizza is excellent but aside from the obvious, I was really surprised by how good the soup really was. Their mozzarella sticks are made fresh and surprisingly delicious. Some of the other things that were most notable were the pulled pork sandwich, BBQ Ribs, and the Godfather Steak Sandwich is to die for! I was really surprised at just how nice the place looked on the inside, a perfect environment to watch a good game with friends and family with their big flat screen TVs. The staff has always gone out of their way to make our visits pleasant and enjoyable. Of course when leaving Tortorice's you must not leave without having a homemade cannoli. Lastly, I highly recommend the spaghetti and meatballs. I was really surprised with how generous their portions are. You won't leave here hungry!

So I was snowed in yesterday so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered a large sausage pizza, buffalo wings and some cheese sticks. I was told that that the food won't be delivered for at least an hour because of the weather and that they were backed up. Anyway, I had no problem with that because I know how horrible the weather was. 55 minutes later, I got a knock on the door and it was the driver from Tortorices. He told me that he was sorry for taking so long for the delivery and that he included a dessert with my order for free. When I opened the box, the pizza was so hot that steam was coming out of it. The pizza had so much cheese and it was delicious. The wings were big with so much meat and the sauce has such a good kick to it. After the meal, I called the restaurant and thanked the manager for the fast service and the great food. The manager was so polite and apologized over and over about the long delivery. In short, I would like to say that Tortorice serves good food and provides good service. I would definitely go back there again.

My boyfriend and I love this place! The fact that it's a couple of blocks away from where we live makes it even better. The pizza here is awesome. We've gotten a sausage with cheese, the Tortorice's Special, and the Western. I have also gotten the Italian sandwich and the ribs are also very delicious here. I was only disappointed in the wings, but it's a pizza spot so that's what's going to their specialty. The sausage meat tastes really good, and they have a good sauce and topping ratio. The dough is also very yummy. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is pretty friendly.

Ordered Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken and garlic bread and 8-piece jumbo wings with BBQ sauce a few weeks ago. Everything was bland and disappointing except the garlic bread.

I love pizza. Real pizza, not chicago style "pizza." This place gets a thumbs up from me. Their sauce was perfect: tomato-y without being too sweet, a little tangy without being too acidic. Perfect. There was a LOT of cheese. We ordered pan style, didn't realize that it meant deep dish but the crust was tasty, too. Buttery. I don't think this place will churn out a NY style slice like I'm craving, but I think the double dough pizza might be just right as a middle ground. Can't wait to try it. Service was also great. We went in on a snowy Sunday night for carry out. It was not busy at all, but everyone was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Three words: Pepperoni Picasso Pizza. To die for! I love their pizza. I have tried the thin crust, Picasso, and double dough, and have never been disappointed. I love my pizza covered in greasy cheese, so this is the place for me; they never skimp! We order a lot for my company which usually consists of 8-9 18" pizzas. They always deliver within the hour and I've never had a complaint. It actually hurts my pizza-loving heart to see single-starred reviews; give them another chance! Nobody is perfect. Possibly try being nice to them when you call in a complaint? Nobody wants to help a screaming, f-bomb dropping person, yanno? Anywho, I highly suggest this place; next time try out their Popeye pizza !

Solely for delivery, I love Tortorices! It used to be Pauly's, which had questionable Thai food alongside pizza... Hmm. Anyways, we tested out a thin crust cheese pizza and we're fans! Good cheese, not that crap Bacci's uses. Yuck. We've also tried the stuffed Tortorices (think Giordano's-esque) with mushrooms, peppers and sausage. Veggies, seasoning and sauce were awesome but the sausage wasn't my favorite. The Greek salad has a great dressing, olives, feta, onions yum! Delivery is always quick and courteous (we live not too far, though). The second time we ordered through Grub Hub, a receptionist reached out to us to offer us a coupon to help promote the new business, which was very kind. Prices are very fair for the good quality you're getting. Definitely a fan!

A permanent staple in Arlington Hts. / Mt. Prospect will do very well in the city. As we say "Taking it to the tour!" - great slices and full za, have had the this pizza over one hundred times in my life.

My son and I often walk here and are always greeted well and recognized. He usually goes for the pizza, and told the boss it was the best pizza in the city last time we went. I switch it up and try to get something different when I go there. Always satisfied with my choice and am always stuffed when I leave.

I regular this location. Billy the owner is a very nice and hospitable host and makes you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in the door. The price for dinner is substantially less compared to the other Italian restaurants that I have visited in the near vicinity to my apartment, while the quality is always superb. I tend to get pizza by the slice, and one thing that I love about this place compared to all the others that I have visited is that you literally NEVER have to ask for extra cheese. They make pizza right and within that I am a true fan. Their sandwiches are also good... but my favorite by far is going there on Monday night. They make ribs which is something that reminds me of home WHEN DONE RIGHT... and they do them right. The meat is fall off the bone and the sauce is just right, it doesn't overpower the meat but complements the time and effort it takes to slow cook ribs. I would suggest this place to anyone who wants high quality and at the same time understands the value of a nice calm place to sit and converse where the staff is attentive yet not overbearing.

Over-priced, extremely slow service. I work in a restaurant and I can tell you that the way they process the orders once they are entered into the system needs a new process altogether! I ordered pizza by the slice after asking how long it took. I was told 3 minutes. I ordered a few slices and after 15 minutes was still waiting for pizza by the freaking slice!!!! I don't consider having to bake off a pizza and then cut a single slice off to be "pizza-by-the-slice" - I was offered no apology. I even overheard the cashier say to a fellow employee "but i put this order in a while ago." Sorry, Tortorice, but you get one star. Pizza was mediocre at best - it was scalding hot and I had no time to eat it before work. I threw most of it away after burning the roof of my mouth on it. Look elsewhere for better customer service and pizza - you will likely find it pretty easily in this city.

I love this place. This has great deep dish pizza and high quality ingredients. I recommend asking for extra sauce if you're doing deep dish because it needs a little more than they put. Other than that, excellent and no complaints!

1 star is generous. Calamri was soggy. Pizza like cardboard. And grandma would be disgusted with brownie.

I wasn't expecting the pizza to be so good:). It was pretty quiet when we had lunch so my girlfriend and I were concerned, but it was the perfect setting and the food was delicious! I can't wait to come back!!

This is my absolute favorite pizza place now. I am picky on the taste of the pizza sauce at most places, and Tortorice's is just my style. I order delivery and I also stop by for lunch. The staff is super friendly- always saying hi when I come in, and bye when I leave. If you eat in, they bring out food to you and almost always check in on you during your meal. Not bad, as I was expecting this to be more of a fast food place which leaves you to your own after you pay the bill and walk away from the counter. I mostly come in for lunch, and there is a usually a girl working the counter who is super friendly and such a nice person. Regarding speed- both dining in and delivery were always fast and one time was not fast, but normal (within the time to wait at most other delivery places). However, that was at 630pm and I know traffic was terrible near my house. Regarding food, I've had the Italian beef, lasagna, thin crust, double dough and the double thin crust pizzas. I've also ordered the greek and garden salad as well as the both types of jalepeno popper appetizers. Everything was great. If I had to give any negative comments, it would be for the lasagna, which I ordered for delivery- it was a gigantic piece and was sort of swimming in sauce. It was still good, but a bit too much sauce for my liking. Two things that are minor, but absolutely seal the deal for me with Tortorice's is the ranch dressing and their French fries. I love both of these from this place. I know one of these days I am going to just order fries to dip in ranch dressing. yum.

DON'T LET THE REVIEWS FOOL YOU! The thin crust is hardly thin! The pepperoni not spicy and the garlic tasteless. WORST PIZZA EVER! THREW MORE THAN HALF AWAY! The greens were wilted and it was over priced. I am sorry I did not pay attention to the other warning. BEWARE DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE! Okay a couple pluses it is good for the stoner or college student b/c you get a lot of bread and sauce. Also on cold days grub hub delivers this pizza. 1 star is for the delivery only, plus you can't give 0 or negative stars!!!!!

I am very surprised by the positive reviews. I experienced terrible costumer service and mediocre pizza as well. I live very close to this place and used to get pizza from the prior pizzeria at this location so I decided to give it a try and ordered a couple pizzas for pickup. When I got there the ordered was wrong, not a big deal, but the lady who took the order came out crying and yelling, blaming me for having ordered something else. When I tried to just pay for the part of the order that was correct and return the rest, the manager came out to yell at me too. It was a terrible experience and I will never get back there again, there are many places to get much better pizza without the drama.

While we don't order pizza often, when we do, we want it to be worth it - and we don't want to spend an arm and a leg, nor do we like deep dish...which limits our options in Chicago. After a few strike outs, we finally landed on Tortorices. With the exception of one time when our order arrived wrong, we have always been pleased! The BBQ wings are delicious and HUGE, the options to add to to the pizzas are extensive, and the orders always arrive within the estimated window. Can't complain!

I love their gluten free pizzas. Perfect for nights we don't want to cook! (And after over 20+ orders I have still never gotten sick from cross-contamination or anything. They seem to do a great job handling gluten-free orders)

We had a bad experience. They messed up my pizza, no big deal I asked that they send a small one with the correct order. They agreed. An hour and a half later, no pizza arrived, my family ate at 8:15, while I was still waiting at 9:50 for a 10 inch thin crust sausage! Called them and asked where the pizza was they said it left a long time ago then called us back saying it will be a few more minutes. I called asked for manager who they said was no longer there, hm... weird, who would do the closing sales? Food- Nothing great Maybe we got them on a bad night. I was impressed that the owner did call me back trying to rectify the situation. We will see in the future if we will try them again.

The pizza itself was pretty good, but the delivery guy was beyond rude. In fairness, I had my phone on silent and forgot to turn my ringer back on because I was entertaining out of town guests, but when I realized he had called three times I immediately called him back. By the way he acted you would have thought he had been trying to call me for an hour (when according to my call log, it was a space of three minutes). Further, I thought it was odd that he didn't just come up to my door, instead opted to wait in his car until I picked up the phone - we were clearly home with a large group of people sitting in front of the window. When he got to the door, he yelled at me in ear shot of my guests that the pizza was probably cold and that he couldn't be waiting around all night because he had other deliveries...SERIOUSLY, it was THREE minutes and you didn't even think to just get out of your car??? Needless to say, we won't be ordering from this restaurant again and I'm really annoyed that I already added my tip via GrubHub before the food arrived.

We've been looking for a good thin crust pizzeria, and we definitely found it at Tortorice's. We actually ordered the extra thin crust, and it was amazing! The crust is airy and crispy. The middle pieces just folds in half into a pizza sandwich. I think the best part is the sauce. We've had lots of pizzas, but there is something special in Tortorice's sauce. Definitely will be reordering from there.

Great thin crust!! I tried for the first time last night and was impressed. Just a large thin pepperoni and sausage pie cut (I don't know where squares came from but I hate em!!) I'm more of a triangle guy. They deliver late I called at 10:46 and my pizza was here at 11:17 piping hot. On others recommendations on how good their sauce was I ordered an extra side to dip in and was glad I did super fresh and delicious!

The pizza here is really good! They have a great variety of everything. We dined-in and it was empty and quiet and wonderful lol. The servers are also very pleasant. There's free refills on the self-served beverages too.

One of the better pizza spots in Chicago. I have had most of the styles and they are all good, but thin here is my favorite.

You would think that is would be EASY to find good ole' fashioned Chicago pizza in the heart of Chicago, right? Well, trust me...some have too much bread, too little sauce, crazy expensive when it's pizza, or try to get creative and it's not what you're expecting. This place hits the mark. I went here with a Groupon, and it was worth it. The staff was ultra friendly, and one worker came to ask us after asking about our food, just about how are day was going in general. What? That still happens? When coming, realize this is a pizza joint. The waitress is not coming to your table, you are looking at a menu and ordering at a cash register. That doesn't mean that the environment is lacking. Comfortable seating area, a few flat screens.

My boyfriend and I decided to try Tortorice's pizza last night, because we were in the mood for Chicago style pizza and the location is very close to our apartment. The pizza was FANTASTIC. The dough had wonderful flavor and was the perfect texture. The staff was friendly and even called to let us know when our pizza was finished. The only reason I'm giving Tortorice's 4 starts instead of 5 is because of the antipasto salad. It was okay, but lacked toppings and was mostly all lettuce. We will definitely be coming back!

This pizza spot is by far my most favorite! They're prices are very reasonable & the portions are generous! I have ordered from them many times & the pizza & food is always tasty & consistant. Its not your typical hole in the wall pizza place either! They have a beautiful store front to dine in & your greeted by the friendly employees and owners. You guys have to try them! I definitely recommend everything on the menu- especially their thin crust pizza, ribs, chicken limone, & the Italian beef! Yummmm!

Moved from the suburbs back to the West Loop after 30 years. We have tried all the pizza in the West Loop. Each has something good about it but if you're not a fan of "foodie" burnt crusts or eat it only while it's hot pizza then this is the place. I just want a good pizza at a reasonable price. Although I appreciate "artisan" foods I also appreciate just good old pizza, the kind that's just as good cold the next morning as it was hot. On the owners recomendation we also tried the homemade lasagna and it did not dissapoint. It was soft and light with nice chunks of meat inside and out, you could tell it was fresh. I read some reviews ripping the owners' attitude but I have found him both informative and engaging. I also watched him train a new employee with care and attention to detail. Sometimes things happen but it's from working with "humans" not bad intent or lack of caring. I love to support small family business and I'm sure this will be my go to pizza place on the way home.

I actually really enjoyed their food. I wasn't a big fan of the previous pizza place that occupied this location before this (pauly's) but I live in the area so I figured they were worth a shot. One thing I love is that they have A LOT of lunch deals to choose from. I got a particular one where they gave me a huuge slice of pizza, order of fries, & a drink for myself to fill up. I loved the pizza though, it's cheesy & the consistency was perfect. As weird as it sounds too, their cheese fries are awesome lol. I actually have ordered some cheese fries to go just for lunch before. My only gripe is that everything is made to order...which isn't really a bad thing (who wants cold food?) but because of that you can expect to wait. I've waited about 10 minutes just for fries while the restaurant was empty. Never the less though, I love their food so I'm gonna keep coming back. My tip would be to CALL in about 10 minutes before you plan to pick up food, that way it should be ready before you get there.

My husband and I tried Tortorice's for the first time tonight. I had a groupon and decided to use it because it's close and no regrets. We ended up ordering a very thin crust 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 sausage pizza. It had great flavor; however, their idea of a very thin crust is not ours. The best thin crust pizza I've had was just outside of Venice. My husband and I recently discovered Coalfire and the pizza there is very similar to the pizza I tried in Venice- true thin crust. I would say this crust was more of a normal crust. We also ordered the baked shells and they were very good. The staff was quite friendly, which is always nice. However, the ambience was lacking a bit. The acoustics were pretty loud which made it difficult for me to hear with the echoes. It would have been nice to have heard some Italian music instead of B96. It was also quite chilly in the restaurant. On a positive note, their tiramisu is amazing. It would have been nice to be able to order a capuccino. The owner or manager told me that would be coming in the near future. Overall, the food is very good and reasonably priced.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
