We went for Sunday Morning Breakfast to go. They were reasonably priced and made our food exactly as ordered. they did not skimp on any of the sides. they packaged it very well and even included REAL butter, also ketchup salt pepper napkins everything we needed . we didn't want for anything. The food was fresh and still hot when we got home. They were friendly and efficient and you can't beat the prices. Looks like it's run by a family so let's support our little local businesses!

We have been back several times since my last review, and we have stopped going altogether- the owner/only waitress is too awkward to put up with on a regular basis. She is loud and rather nosy-pushing certain items on the menu that we are definitely not interested in. It's not worth it anymore.

I want to like them more, but I agree with reviewer Frank H.: the server was nice yet it must be the same cook. Our food took a really long time to come out even though we were the only ones there. We finally had to ask where it was. The waitress said the cook was on the phone for too long. They should get rid of him! The soup was very good; everything else was average. Prices OK. One of those old-fashioned diners and is about 30 years behind the times. Again, I'd rate it higher if weren't for the slow service.

Very nice neighborhood restaurant. I had trouble finding it because it's listed in the wrong place on Google Maps! It's actually WEST of Elston on Lawrence. The address, 4461 is correct; the map location isn't.

i live so close to this place that this should be my go-to place for breakfast but it is far from it. i have dined here at least four times in the course of say, three years and the wait for the food is for-freakin-ever! sometimes i'm the only customer, other times there is no more than three other tables. i don't know what that cook is doing and why he is sooo slowww! also, the one/owner waitress is such a loud mouth. you can't help but hear everything she proclaims out loud when you just want a quiet breakfast. and i mean everything, play by play! i think she's half drunk. the food is okay, nothing special. take out is fine, i've done that a couple of times. just have her call you when the order is ready. don't sit and eat here, just go someplace else.

Nothing special. Had pancakes, eggs , sausage , bacon and has browns. With all the great reviews I feel all have not had great breakfast before.

I hadn't visited this diner since it got new owners and was fixed up - but it is now better than before! Met a friend for breakfast and was blown away by the quality of the food (try the hash browns - perfect!) and the great prices - about $6.00 total for a large and tasty breakfast! It has now become my neighborhood place for breakfast and lunch. Chatty staff and steaming cups of joe (also good) make the place as comfortable as your own kitchen.

New to the Mayfair neighborhood and we love our Sunday brunches. So, we were happy to see there was a diner within walking distance from our new place. But, after I checked the reviews I was a bit skeptical to even try it. Glad we did! IMO, diners have the best breakfasts and this place did not let me down. Sure it's not the fanciest place and the staff is, what I like to call down to earth. :) No snooty attitudes, just a friendly, "Hey there! What can I getcha?" They have plenty of regulars, they know most people by name, and they talk to everyone about their day or about what happened last week. Ha! I think that's awesome. As for the service, can't complain. Did not experience what other reviewers have said at all. Been there 3x in the month and a half we've lived here and not one problem, with the service or our orders. It's a "mom n pop" joint that serves up your standard diner menu. The pancakes are great and the coffee is always hot! If you want white linens, go elsewhere. Otherwise great place for a casual breakfast.

There hours say they close at 4pm, they locked there door at around 3:30, wasted trip and paid for parking for nothing. They waved us off, maybe they have enough business, won't make the trip there ever again

Well, my family and I ate there this morning. The cook made the best veggie omelet I've had in years. Full of flavor. Nice and fluffy with extra spinach. The veggies were very very fresh. The hash browns were made the old fashion way. They were delicious. The waitress was a sweet heart. It's good to have friendly people that serve you.

Love the personal service and the food is always perfect. Daily homemade soups are one of my favorite things about Mayfair!

Went in for breakfast on Sunday with my family and the restaurant was very slow (only 3 other people in the place). After 40 min we still did not have our food while numerous other people that came in after us had been served. Over easy eggs and hash browns, how hard could that be? The server was very nice but mentioned that the cook had an attitude. My family and I will never return to this business.

In an era of chain food diners, I'm glad little neighborhood joints like this have a niche in this world. A group of us stopped in on the recommendation of a friend that lives in the area. First of all expect casual and expressive banter between the staff and regular customers. This simply adds to the ambience as the air fills with talk about grandkids, medical problems, and general neighborhood gossip. This will kill time before the food arrives. It may also delay your food if the cook decides to chime in as well. As for the food, the pancakes are buttery awesome. The steak, not so much, but we all warned the person that ordered it to lower their expectations. If we weren't so so engrossed in the food we might have joined in the neighborhood banter, but it was just as entertaining listening. This place has charm, the food is reasonable, and the prices are decent. I'll be back here again. Pros: Friendly staff, varied menu, PANCAKES, prices. Cons: Not the place to come if you want to eat and go. To sum it up: A reason to support your neighborhood food joint.
