This place has been a "go-to" pizza joint ever since I moved into Uptown. They're fast and their pizza is delicious. I've never had any issues with Tedino's (knock on wood). Their thin crust is comparable to other places I have tried, which is a good thing. My taste buds are difficult to please when it comes to pizza because I've had some good pies in my life. So with that being said, Tedino's definitely gets my seal of approval. When you're looking for a quick fix on a pizza pie, they're the "clutch" in providing you relief.

Wonderful pizza! Bathrooms are clean with paper towels.

Got the deep dish or stuffed pizza. Tasted fine but made both me and my boyfriend sick for the next two days. Unless you desire some fun bowel movements, choose another place.

For me, Tedino's is the best around here. My thing is burgers usually, occasionally pizza and it's very good. Perfectly cooked rare burgers every time. Amazingly fast delivery. And picking-up always friendly. First-class operation. I do wish the fried appetizers were home-made and not frozen. And if you order through their website you get 10% off.

So awesome! Stuffed pizza is delicious, chocolate chip cookie comes hot with ice cream and whipped cream. Tedino's will be a staple whenever I visit Chicago. Not sure why their website doesn't show up on their Yelp page. tedinos.com

Second time in a row had a great time here! Robert was our waiter who waited on Robert and Rob who are staying at Robert's! He was so good. What a great guy. His service was great for us but what made an impression on me is how wonderful he was with the next table of three nice senior ladies. He personally owned their requests. Seriously a great guy. The food here is amazing, the last review I left should speak to that. But this place is great. great people, great service, great food.

Great pizza and fair prices. Just wished their pizza by slice at lunch was sane pizza they make to order. But still not bad. Free parking too.

I love eating here. I have a choice of sitting outside or inside and it's never crowded. The food is very good and reasonably priced. I love the chicken sandwich but I'm not to crazy about their pizza.

My favorite place in the neighborhood for thin crust pizza (deep dish is decent too, but thin crust better). The Hawaiian pizza is my favorite (Canadian bacon and pineapple). I mostly have their pizza delivered and their delivery service is pretty fast and the drivers are always friendly. They are a little pricier than most other pizza places in the neighborhood, but given how good their thin crust is I am okay with that.

Great local Pizzeria. Wings are the best in town. Thin crust pizza very good. Fast and friendly delivery.

I can't comment on the pizza because I've never had it but I've been there multiple times for their 'beef' sandwich. Why it's not an 'Italian beef' sandwich here I don't know but my mom of all people said it may be the best Italian beef she's ever had. So, I met up with her for lunch one day and figured I would try it for myself. For $5 bucks with fries for their express lunch, it's excellent. For all other times, it's really just kind of okay. I guess sometimes, mom's don't know best. If you're dining in don't expect a lot of attentive service, although I'm not sure who to blame on that one. My Italian beef lunch date with my mom saw only 1 server for the entire restaurant and the patio so I didn't blame her too much for not coming around too often. In the evenings there are only 2 people to basically cover 3 sections (counting the patio) and they have to deal with a lot of older people from the senior apartments next door so if you're not a blue-haired regular you may end up having to flag down people for more water or refills.

We have been customers for almost 10 years. We are consistent.. Because they make the best BBQ chicken pizza on the north side... The best! The biggest problem is their delivery. They say it takes up to an hour to get your pizza, which is mostly true. But 45 minutes riding around in a delivery vehicle does not make for a quality pizza once delivered. The crust gets very soggy, and the toppings are usually slid off the slices because of the delivery drivers driving, and his ability to hold the box level. They have finally failed me, because our last delivery took 1 hour 20 minutes. The pizza was almost stone cold. When I called the store, they simply said.. "We don't know why it took so long". No offer for a credit, no "I'm sorry".. Just horrible Tedinos.. You've lost our business because of your horrible customer service. For the higher-than-average prices you charge, the pizza should be perfect. Hire more delivery drivers, and replace the elderly one who can't climb the stairs to our second floor unit, before you lose more customers.

Nothing too special about this joint, but if you live nearby it's a convenient place to get a pie. Their menu is decently big, but nothing on it really stands out. The food hits the spot, but I'm always thinking of a couple places where I've had better. That said, their stuffed pizza actually grew on me. What I mean is, from time to time I'll get a slight craving for it. I usually don't cave, because Bacinos always wins that one, but if Tedinos ever closed down, I'd for sure be a little sad.

  • Honest A.

Unispiring is an understatement. Dining area is stale. Sandwiches and pastas served with little passion or effort in making it delicious. Crusts are decent but sauce is like Giordanos, bland. Tried them 4 times since I moved to Edgewater 7 years ago and never enjoyed food enough. Ill stick to Calo or Aroma.

It has been since 2007, I think it is time to update my views on Tedino's. You see, in reality, it has been more than seven years, but I still love the stuff! Stuffed Pizza? Oh yeah! Spinach or health nuts (because the greens take away the worries from pounds of cheese, right?) are my choices. I like traditional style pizza. Thin? My niece and nephew swear by the cheese! Good flaky crust, it all works. The price? Just right!

  • Alexandra R.

This is the best pizza place EVER! The pizza is top notch with the perfect sauce to cheese ratio. On WEDNESDAYS they have half price pizzas if you dine in. PERSONALLY dining in is a blast! They have excellent service! I forgot our servers name but he was attentive with out being clingy. Even the bus staff was amazing! They were SOOO polite and our drinks were never empty. Everyone there was so welcoming and everyone took a minute to wish us a good night when we were leaving. This is TRUELY a great experience!

On the eve of leaving Edgewater forever, I finally demanded to try Tedinos. I have driven by in a car and on a bus too many times to NOT go here. It looks so unassumningly awesome and pizza "parlor" -esque, I just had to stop in. And frankly I am not so sure I was missing anything. I went for the deep dish sausage and I was neither disgusted nor impressed. The prices were competitive for the style of pizza but the sauce and crust combo left a little something to be desired. I know I have an undying devotion to Lou Malnati's, but I want to support the little guy as best I can. I think if they changed the sauce up a little bit this place could be 5 star.

  • Kristine M.

Fairly new to the area and a friend of mine recommended this place, and I am so glad she did! I've only had their thin crust pizza because well, let's be real, Chicagoans like their thin crust just as much, if not more than deep dish! And theirs is the best in the area! The crust is perfect! Not to mention their delivery men and women are so freakin nice! It makes it hard to go dine in!

Tonight the food was really good and the waiter was great. The kitchen did put the wrong topping on the pizza, but a remake only took 15 mins. I will be going back in the near future.

Tedino's is just 3 blocks away from where I live. I love that fact that summer time my wife and I can just walk there and eat at one of their out door tables. They have great pizzas, and we used to love Giordano's pastas, but they recently changed it, and now Tedino's has become our favorite. Their portions are also big enough to share and prices are not bad.

Pretty gross. Wet, cakey (not good), tasteless dough. Bland sauce, Rubbery cheese, I doubt its real cheese and those hard things in every other piece of sausage. To top it off it was under done. Ever since my favorite pizza place closed I've been looking for another joint... my search continues.

    (1)
  • Terrence C.

WHY?!? this place is like popping a gross pimple. It is such an easy fix, once you do it you immediately regret the huge bleeding mark on your face. 3 months later you forget and do it again. Being half a block away from my house i ordered a small hawaiian pizza. Crust..ok. Sauce.. Flavorless. Pineapple.. Sour. Canadian bacon(which is ham in their eyes) was rubbery. All in all. This is not a good place to eat. Their apps are ok. But the pizza is truly horrible.

Epitome of HIDDEN GEM! I live on the same block as this place and I've been coming here ever since I was in high-school. As a native to chicago, this is the BEST PIZZA PLACE IN CHICAGO. Giordanos, Lou Malnatis and Gino's East pale in comparison. This place has great quality at a great price and great service. Every Wednesday I would come here, get a pizza and study for AP tests and what not...as a result of this miraculous pizza, I was able to graduate with good grades and get into Northwestern University. Price- Wednesday is 1/2 PRICE PIZZA! You can get a large deep dish for $10! Quality- Definitely the best. If you pull a slice off and you see strings of gooey melted cheese you know it is moist (yeah I said it) mozzarella that is fresh. If the pizza doesn't have that, the mozzarella is dry and old. BBQ chicken pizza and pizza with ricotta cheese, garlic and spinach are my favorites. Quantity- It's very, very filling. One time, my high school watched as I tackled a large deep dish by myself....at that moment in time I knew what it meant to have the will of the warrior. Atmosphere- A great local place. You have a weird mix of elderly, gay couples, police, students, etc- very eclectic. There is one big TV so a game is usually on. Staff- Sooo friendly. I once asked them to deliver a pizza to a friend for her birthday. Even though she was outside their limits, they did it and she was so happy. I honestly feel so welcomed when I come here and they are very attentive. Bottom line- Great! I always bring friends here and they bring their friends...it's like how VDs are spread. Come on a wednesday and get the 1/2 price pizza! P.S. This place will do pre-orders so when you get here, your pizza is ready! Giordanos doesn't do that so you end up waiting 40 min for pizza! Go-online- look at the menu, pre-order and get over here.

Tedinos was much more than I expected. I thought it was going to be just pizza. We had lasagna, baked ravioli's, stuffed shells and chicken parm. It was excellent and large portions as well. The service was just as good. Our water glasses were never empty. Definitely go there. Seating is outside as well. Great atmosphere and wonderful experience

Been a while Tedino's! ~6 years according to my last review, and you're still doing it! Tried the super-thin crust (XX-thin on their online ordering) and it was very good.. crust was crispy, but the actual base breading still had some flex to it.. not NY flex, but not cracker by any means.. I was worried xx-thin would mean non-existent, but it was there! Might be a wee bit thinner than some others, but nothing ridiculous.. I'd just call it a really good thin crust! They offer pie-cut too, so that's a win in my book. Slight edge to the sausage over the pepperoni, but glad I did 1/2 and 1/2, both were very good. Keep it up, Tedino's!

  • Irina H.

We've been coming here for years because my parents live in the retirement home next door. We were never too excited about dining here; it was just convenient. However, Tedino's recently updated their decor and menu, and the food falls short of where it was before. The appetizer of shrimp is just heavy breading now, with hardly any shrimp inside. The mushroom burger has the bottled mushrooms on it that drip water all over your plate and fall off the burger. The thin crust pizza is a snoozefest. The salads have Greek olives and raw onions, which you can pick off, but it's just iceberg lettuce after that. Overall, the food is just very boring and bland. The waitresses and waiters have always been pleasant, though.

  • Robert M.

Annoyed!! Two hours free parking, then $14.00 for a minute. I Gave the waiter the parking validation with my credit card when i paid the bill.. They didn't bother to validate it. Went to the car to leave. Tried over and over to exit and it didn't work. So had to go back into the restaurant. By the time I got back to the car and was exiting it as just over the 2 hours. So couldn't get out without paying $14.00!!! Wouldn't have even stayed in the restaurant that long if I had gotten the half carafe of wine that we ordered instead of the full, but felt bad about sending it back. Really sucks!

So far I've had their stuffed crust several times and every pizza has been fantastic. For such an unassuming place, they have surprisingly flavorful sauce, buttery/flaky (but not too dry) crust, and generous servings of stingy cheese. To be honest, I prefer their deep dish to some of the more famous places downtown, with their long lines, and hit-and-miss product. Tedino's is comfortable, well made, and on Wednesdays they become most likely the best deal on deep dish in the city. Dine-in pizza is 50% off. That brings their largest deep dish pizza down to like $9 (cheese only). Seriously, how can you go wrong? Just tried their classic thin crust today, and can't say I really liked it. Pretty generic, and more like frozen pizza than NY thin crust. But if your after deep dish/stuffed crust, then this place is a 5/5!

Since, as someone says we're sticking with either 2's or 5's I'll register as a 4, just to be different. Good, consistent pizza delivery. Can't comment about dining in there, or anything else on the menu besides the pizza. The super-thin crust pizza is great. I'm not a fan of Chicago style deep dish - I hope you don't think less of me for saying that. Oh and don't bother with the "pizza bread" - it was a piece of bread with a couple tablespoons of Ragu slatered on it and a big piece of tough cheese. Meh. Their drivers are always super nice.

  • Lisa S.

We wanted deep dish and we didn't want to drive, so Tedino's was the logical choice. Our Party of Five (lulz) ordered 4 pizzas because we're not the sort of people to share. It took nearly an hour for Tedino's to bake and bring out 4 deep dish pizzas. During that time we were visited by a waitress once to refill our beverages. For shame! The pizza, once it arrived, satisfied our need for pizza. But I think you could have handed me cat turds on a crust and called it pizza and we would have been good.

I know alot of people who would say this is run of the mill pizza. FIE ON YOU! I love Tedinos. Sure, I'm biased in that it's 2 blocks from my apartment and therefore the closest sitdown pizza establishment to me. But even if it was say, 8 blocks away, I'd still make the trek. It's just that good. There's two details that make this pizza stand out. One, the pepperoni. Usually, I get pepperoni and sausage or just sausage on a pizza. It's almost criminal to me to eat pizza without sausage on it. But not at Tedinos. Pepperoni only. The pepperoni is thick cut and placed under the cheese. It had a great bite to it and really bulks up the thin crust. That leads to the second detail. The thin crust is awesome. The crust is kind of salty, really crispy, and absorbent of the grease from the pepperoni? Don't believe me? When you go there, look at the outer edge slices. You see those orangish splotches on the crust. BOOM! Pepperoni grease. Bonus round: The pizza is half off for dine in on Wednesdays. It gets a little crowded on that day, but for the most part, I think Tedinos is a carry out/delivery place. I generally am able to walk in any time, day or night, and be greeted with "Hey guys. Anywhere you want." and apart from one or two cops eating here (there's always a few so you know it's safe) you basically have your run of the joint. If you live in Andersonville/Edgewater, you should probably be at Tedinos by now. I mean, with technology these days, it's reasonable to think you're reading this review at your table. Fight your impulse to get cheese on the garlic bread. I recently discovered that it's better without. You're welcome.

underwhelmed - the place has fallen off - calamari was fishy smelling and over cooked - onion rings were over fried as well - waiter was earnest - but - the kitchen couldnt seem to handle a table of 7 on a Sunday night -when no one was there. Somehow the bill got to $150 - and then to add insult - it took us 20 minutes to leave and get to our cars - and the parking validation expired - when we went back to ask the manager for a few more minutes - he refused. All he had to do was hit the overide - but he shrugged and told us not his problem. That's fine - we were looking for a monthly place for 10 -15 people - we will go across the street to Wing Hoe where we know the service isnt so hot - but the food is. Meh

  • Bob B.

Great place to watch sports on the big screen while you eat great pizza. I'm a fan of the sauce, in particular, and this is a pizza joint with both good thin crust AND thick crust, though not the best of either that I've had. OK wings, with a couple of flavors besides Buffalo. Also, a small, so-so stocked bar when you eat in.

  • Nicole C.

Tedino's is my go-to place for a slice of pizza. Sometimes I don't want to order an entire pizza, and not many pizza joints still sell slices. So when my pizza craving strikes, I make my way over and order a slice of sausage pizza to-go. Their giant slices always hit the spot.

    (3)
  • David R.

The pizza? Meh. Not so good. The sausage was especially 'spotty.' Meaning, there were a few "time to pull the sausage out of my mouth because I just bit into something" moments. They said it'd take 15 minutes, went in after 20 minutes and the pizza wasn't ready yet. As I sat waiting for my pizza to be ready, I watched a spider crawl across the front counter for a good 3 minutes. I know they're everywhere, but I'll forever associate this place with 'meh' pizza, longer wait times and spiders.

  • Michael S.

I just have to say "average". Pizza was average. On the bland side. Prices were reasonable. I was just hoping for more. And their half off pizza deal - is very confusing. Not really a deal at all.

  • Leo T.

Despite being in Chicago where deep dis pizza is king, we ordered the "thin crust" which is about what hand tossed pizza is like in other cities. The flavor was good and the pie was well prepared. The service was pleasant and prompt. We took some home and it reheated very well which doesn't always happen with day old pizza. Also had a tossed salad which was plenty for 2. Would definitely g back.

Pretty mediocre pizza. Fairly depressing ambiance. Slow lazy service considering we were one of three tables. Wish I had went somewhere else instead.

After waiting 45 minutes in the dining room, the wrong pizza comes to my table. Add another 45 minutes. After eating, this 2-hour visit is greeted with zero compensation on the check.... and my "half-off" special has a little "catch" to it, that is not mentioned on the menu. The server, when asked about the "catch" replies, "oh, I thought everyone knew...." Seriously? Not so great pizza can be saved by great service. Poor service, and a terrible experience can never be saved. TEDINO'S IS TERRIBLE.

    (1)
  • B L.

This place is really not-so-good. I used to get the poppers here along with various pizzas and sandwiches but maybe they changed chefs? 2-stars instead of 1 only because the service is always very good here whether it's carry-out or dine-in. Let your star shine. However, restaurants cannot live on good service alone. I hope they make the food good again.

Should be called Tedious. I haven't ordered from Tedino's in a hundred years (well, 10), but I was looking for a new pie joint. The reviews on Yelp are definitely mixed -- 5 stars or 2 stars -- but I figured I'd give them a try. Put me in the 2 star category. The crust was doughy -- as in, you could scrape off balls of it with your fork -- and the pale little rounds they call pepperoni tasted more like bologna. Kudos for including ricotta cheese on their Italian pie; I wish it didn't roll off the pizza in little balls. I'm sorry to say we also ordered calamari, which was apparently bought frozen and pre-breaded. (I know, what can you expect from a pizza joint? But hope springs eternal.) They weren't overly chewy, which is a plus, but the rings slipped right out of their crusty jackets, which was a disappointment. Not horrible, but with so many other choices available in this neighborhood alone, why bother?

    (2)
  • Dominic F.

This pizza really isn't very good. I had the thin crust special. I tend to enjoy a more chewy, bready dough with a crisp to the crust. I wish I could offer a better description, but I found the pie simply boring. Very little sauce, plain white-flour-taste crust, and a tad overpriced.

  • Paul G.

Used to hit Tedino's regularly when I lived in Edgewater. 10 years later, it's still a hit. Exactly as I remember it...golden brown crust, excellent distribution of flavorful ingredients, and the trademark oregano and crushed red pepper packets stapled to the top of the box. Got there a little before my order was ready, and was offered a glass of water while I waited. Good customer service experience. Good work, Tedino's!

This PIZZA CHANGED MY LIFE. Now I understand why Chicogoans turn their nose up at our California styled pizza.... because Chicago pizza is. it. It is literally a pizza pie. I've often seen Chicago pizza on foodnetwork.com and often wondered why the toppings went on top of the crust, followed by cheese, followed by the sauce that some Italian nona invented. Holy crow. So delicious. My friend was kind enough to order a pizza before she jumped on a plane from ORD to SNA and actually carried the pizza through customs.... She handed me a box of Tedino's pizza when I picked her up at the airport. I reheated the pizza in my oven at 400 degree for about 12-15 min....then heaven. The cheese... the crust.... the perfect pepperoni... all covered in this ooooey, gooey cheese and like I said before, Nona's sauce. Such goodness and love in Tedino's pizza.

  • Michael N.

I have never eaten in at Tedino's and I probably never will. It looks like a crappy Pizza Hut and based on other reviews, it probably feels like it too. I highly recommend it for delivery, though there is some kind of half-off Tuesdays thing (might be on Wednesdays... call ahead). The drivers are not mean or scripted; that is absurd. They are delivery drivers and they kept my fat ass out of the cold and wet, so I tip them well. The deep dish is my favorite Chicago-style I've had so far in the city, as compared to Gino's East, Lou Malnati's, Giordano's, Chicago's, JB Alberto's. I love to get just a simple deep dish with cheese only because their crust is good, but doesn't get in the way, the cheese is an awesome salty half-gooey consistency, and the sauce is thick and isn't sweet. I think the Opa (greek) and "supreme" are awesome too. I've liked most of the appetizers I've tried, but nothing amazing. MY girlfriend is a fan of the salads, but again, nothing special. Most things about Tedino's would get three or four stars but it is my number #1 for Chicago-style deep dish!

We brought in a group - like 20 people. We called ahead and they were ready. They do't like splitting the check - but they found compromises that made everyone happy. The service was sharp - my diet coke was always full. The food orders went in and out quickly. The waiters didn't tag on the forced "party" tip and ended up making a lot more than they would have. The pizza was good. The beef sandwich had ample beef and really good bread. I asked for well-done fries - and they were not well done- but everything else was pretty spot on. We will return. You should, too. If you haven't been there - you should give it a try - relaxing low-key vibe.

O.K.- so probably not a place that you would take anyone that you're trying to impress. The food is O.K. The crust options are limited- deep dish, thin and extra thin The delivery is around an hour on average (even when you live 2 blocks away) During the winter months the delivery drivers have all been trained to put on a show when they arrive at your door. "It is so cold out there" "I am frozen solid" "You wouldn't believe how cold it is right now" It's like a script that is mandatory to read to increase the tip. YOU ARE A DELIVERY DRIVER IN CHICAGO! It is cold for several months in a row, don't you have heat in your car? I am going to give you a fucking tip alright! but I do like their chef salad -yumm

I just ordered from Tedino's. The pizza is alright... I've had better pizza elsewhere. However, let me place a disclaimer that I am new to Chicago so I'm just learning about "good Chicago pizza" even though my homemade pizza is way better than Tedino's. I ordered an X-LG 1-topping mushroom pizza for about $18. Not a bad price for the size or so I thought. Their XLG is the size of a LG at pizzerias elsewhere so I was a bit put off by that. The dough is a bit underbaked for my taste but maybe the crust is supposed to be doughy. The sauce is really good but for some reason the overall taste was just alright. Maybe more seasonings are needed but I'm not very impressed. Delivery was fast, 25mins but then I also live 4 blocks away. The delivery man was friendly so that's always a plus. But I went w/ a 2-star rating because if I hadn't used a $5-off coupon, I would have been VERY disappointed in cost for quality ratio. Will I order again? Maybe... because they're close.

I remembered going here for pizza and sitting outside and thinking the place was wonderful....but I was drunk that day. My next experience was awful. I came with one other person (and there was one other couple in the restaurant the whole time we were there) and basically waited over an an hour for the most bland pizza I have ever eaten. Ever. I sprinkled all the salt, pepper, parmesan & spicy chips I could and it didn't help. I will never step in this place again and would suggest anyone reading this to change their plans and go somewhere else.

If you can't make pizza as good as Giordanos, or Gino East, or Apart Pizza, then you shouldn't make and sell pizza. Even Whole Food has better pizza than Tedinos. Just not impressive pizza.

It's dinnertime on a Sat. night, and I'm hoping you find somewhere better to order pizza from. We ordered last night. The coupon we had claimed free delivery, fast delivery and $3 off a large pizza -- so that's what we ordered. It arrived the standard hour later, and when I later looked at the bill my fiance paid without looking, there was a $2.25 delivery charge and they hadn't taken the $3 off. That's $5.25 extra for a pizza that's just OK. Today I'm eating the leftovers and they are definitely not fresh. With 40 million pizza joints in the city, just spend your money elsewhere. Love, Me

Must update. Used to have a crush on Tedino's, but now I've become bored. After I tasted the mushy, cake-y (not a plus) crust, ugh. I'm rethinking this relationship. It used to be soooo good, but now . . . just disappointing.

Exceptional! I'm not a pizza guy (big lactose problem), so I can't comment on the pizza, but last night I decided to cash in one of the free delivery coupons I had and order a couple pasta entrees for delivery. I'm glad I did! Here's what I loved about it: !) Everything was extremely, fresh, hot and tasty! The bf and I each ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. There was no extra charge to add meatballs, so we did. They were tender, just a little bit spicy and really good! The pasta and meat sauce was also delicious and the portion was huge - neither of us finished ours, but I wish there was just a little more of the meat sauce on the pasta. Each order came with a side salad and bread. The salad was huge and delicious! It had crisp lettuce, tomato, onions, cucumbers, radishes and probably a few other things. The Caesar dressing was probably from a bottle, but still very good. There was also a full loaf of warm bread and butter for each of us. Very nice! 2) The Food was packaged beautifully! I hate getting delivery where it looks like they threw the leftovers in a Styrofoam container and charged you extra for it. The food was presented beautifully! The delivery driver brought a large white shopping bag (reusable kind) filled with our food. Inside, each entree was in a re-usable plastic container and sealed in a ziplock bag. Nothing leaked, no mess, and easy to serve. The salad came in a crystal clear clamshell container that made it look even more appetizing. There were forks, napkins, butter, parm, and everything we needed to enjoy right in the package. Good planning guys, thanks! 3) Delivery was fast! On a rainy Friday night, it can take hours (even days sometimes) for you food to arrive. Tedinos got it here in about 40 minutes. Can't complain about that! 4) It was a great Deal! $9 for spaghetti and meat sauce, two big meatballs, a large side salad and bread is a winner for me! Thanks Tedionos!!!

Had the baked ravioli pasta. No flavor, definitely not fresh. The mozzarella on top was slices, not shredded. Gross. Service was slow despite us being one of three tables occupied.

This is one of my favorite thin-crust pizza places in the city. If you dine in, it is nothing fancy, so ignore the folks who decry the place as not being good enough for their "esteemed" tastes. At the end of the day, the food is delicious. The pizza isn't sweet, it is salty, salty, salty, and wonderful. If you deliver, it is quick, and the delivery folks are passionate and regular- it is not a crew of 16yr olds. These guys are glad to give you a good meal, and will smile. And that meal is always good. I've become a two pizza man- Tedinos, and Lou's.

I've been a loyal Tedino's customer since I moved to Sheridan Rd in '94 and at 3 other addresses since then, but not after tonight. They screwed up an order, which is actually rare for them and is something I would normally take in stride, but how they handled it was completely unprofessional. In "trying to make it right" they actually made it worse: They insulted me by requiring an "exchange," as if, after 15 years of being a loyal customer, I would even consider faking a screwed up order simply to get a free pizza. Time's are tough folks, but not that tough. I will truly miss Tedino's deep dish peperoni, but I just can't do business with people who insult me after such a long history. Besides, you're much better off going with Pizzaco's or Cafe Luigi for thin crust anyway. Sardino's is also a top notch alternative, and if you use their coupons they are literally half the price Tedino's.

This is my local pizza place and I have to say, I got very lucky. The pizza is thick and cheesy as a good Chicago pie should be (The thin crust is also a good option, just not the one I usually go for). The prices are pretty reasonable and the food is consistently good. I usually get it to go, but there is also a dining room. My main complaint is the staff leave a bit to be desired in the way of friendliness. They used to have a super sweet guy that was always my waiter, but since he left I've been pretty unimpressed in that area.

Went to this place for the first time last night. Service was wonderful! Robert was contientious without being predatory. He paced the delivery of our order very well. We ordered a stuffed spinach pizza with mushrooms. The sauce was not drowning in salt. Garlic was present in good quantities but not overpowering. Crust was crispy al the way through. Also not drowning in salt as so often happens. The taste of yeast in the crust nicely balanced the tomato sauce. I wish there had been a bit more spinach and a bit less cheese. Still, I was very impressed. I ordered a dinner salad and was very pleased with the freshness of the ingredients-although the tomato was not great. When I asked for oil and vinegar to dress the sald I was impressed that Robert brought a pepper mill so I could grind my own pepper and two cruets so I could dress my own salad. Very nice. I ordered a glass of the house Pinot noir. It was surprisingly wonderful and complimented both the pizza and the salad very well. Even though I live very far south (Hyde Park) I would be very happy to come back to this restaurant.

I've been getting pizza from these guys for years. Excellent stuffed and thin crust pizzas. Lots of cheese and toppings. This is my go to pizza place.

Solid pizza. I love their thin crust (so much better than the JB Alberto's "GIANT" crap). And their Chicago Deep Dish can roll with the big boys (Ginos, Lou's, Giordarnos). As for the dinning experience, it is lacking in ambiance. The inside of the place (much like the ugly old folks home it is in the bottom of) is somewhat bleak. However, the service is usually pretty good. If you live near here, it should be your local pizza source of choice!

Excellent pizza for delivery. The Chicago style stuffed and thin crust are both very tasty. Always a crowd pleaser.

If you're looking for regular Midwest American pizza, this is your spot. You get a good amount of sauce and chewy shredded mozzarella. Toppings run the gamut. I prefer the thin or extra thin pizzas. The stuffed has great flavor, but I haven't ordered it in years because the top tends to be soggy and doughy. Usually, you can get a pizza within 15 or 20 minutes of ordering if you carry out.

  • Marcos L.

As you can see from the reviews here, the problem with this place is consistency. When they're good, they're very good. But... Also, the restaurant is pretty seedy. Haven't been in a while, so maybe they've spruced it up. I do remember one big upside: cheap, big drinks (well, all I got was some booze on the rocks - nothing fancy. But good bang for the buck.)

  • Betsy S.

I hate to be a hater, but this was the worst pizza I've ever had. The crust was not cooked all the way through and was gummy and gooey. I ordered the classic thin crust veggie. Ick. Ick. Ick. And I was overcharged. And the delivery driver KNOCKED ON MY LIVING ROOM WINDOW to let me know that my pizza had arrived. Never again.

  • b b.

I'll keep this one short and not so sweet! The pizza was terrible....I was really disappointed. Then on top of it the staff was really rude. Both the food and the service sucked-at least they're 2 for 2 on something. To be fair I should be a little more specific why the pizza was soooo bad. Well I paid for extra toppings and barely had any.....and the toppings that were there were cleary old. I also had to call twice because delivery took so long over 1 1/2 hours.

Tedino's is not a place I'd make a trip for but as a neighborhood reliable, it's great! I live right next door so it's super easy to pop in for a slice as I'm walking home. I especially like the online ordering. You get a discount if you use it and it's easy to place re-orders. I'll bring up a favorite on my phone while I'm on my way home, place the order in a couple of clicks, and it's ready when I get there. The people are always nice and you can see the pizza guys working back behind the counter.

Whether you like stuffed, Pan or thin crust, Tedino's is by far the best around. It's a combination of their buttery crust and tangy sauce that always brings me back for more. They also have fantastic chicken wings. I always ask for them a little well done, but that's because I like 'em crispy!

This place is exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizza spot-- great pizza, cheap beer, big comfy booths, open late. I went in this past Monday night with a friend. We ordered a medium thin crust, half onion half pepperoni, two beers (Stella and Blue Moon) and only paid $23... perfect!! The pizza isn't too greasy, and the crust is the perfect thickness. Good stuff.

My hands down, favourite joint for Chicago-style deep dish pizza, hands down. When asked by visiting friends or recent transplants, it's the first that comes to mind. Fuck, I literally lived on this stuff when I lived in Rogers Park. I still can't fathom how many people have yet to discover this absolute gem, and true Chicago Pizzeria. The rest of the menu is very good as well, but why bother with that when you can nosh on that amazing deep dish glory.

I used to go to Tedino's waaaayyy back when I lived at 5445 Sheridan (two doors down) almost 15 years ago; that it's been around that long says something in the revolving door of Chicago restaurants. This is not gourmet food by any means, and the interior is dark, stark and dated, but if you just want a casual, inexpensive dinner in the neighborhood, it's fine. Carry out and delivery are both good options as well. Their pizza isn't the best in Chicago, but their stuffed is up there, for sure. Thin is closer to average. I guess I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to get to Tedino's, but for those in the area who don't want to deal with the melee that Clark Street has become, crowds, high prices, needing to feel chic or long waits for delivery, it's a solid choice, for sure.

It's decent, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. You won't be disappointed, but you probably won't be wowed either. Wife and I wanted pizza on short notice. Could've called Domino's, but we live down the street from Tedino's, so we went with it. Got a decently customized, large pie for less than $20. Was tasty, but not amazing. Interior is absolutely generic - would primarily recommend delivery or to-go orders.

YES! This is what pizza should be. I exclusively get the spinich, which has spinich a-plenty. Lots of cheese, and always done to perfection: cheese a nice golden brown on a perfectly flaky crust. And the deep dish... oh, the deep dish. One of the best in the city, and for sure the best in the neighborhood. And talk about fast. Most places, you can call, order, go get your beer, pick up some dessert, come home, wait, wonder, wait, wonder, call back, and eventually get what was once a hot pizza. Tedino's, on the other hand, somehow manages to get me my pizza as I'm hanging up my phone. OK, not that fast, but it's always been there fast enough to make me say "Wow. That was fast." Never been inside. Doubt I will. Never ordered beyond pizza (and a very servicable cheesy garlic bread). Doubt I will. Why would I want to? When pizza this good gets to my place this fast, why mess with that...

  • Heidi H.

I don't mind Tedinos that much.. it comes in handy when I want pizza delivered, but I'm really not a big fan of their crust and their extra thin crust really isn't extra thin at all. My favorite from here is actually the BBQ chicken pizza. The BBQ sauce is sweet and savory at the same time and just plain yummy. I guess I'm just spoiled by the awesome pizza in my hometown of Racine, WI. I love thin crust and I still haven't found anything that compares!

I have ordered recently x-large superthin sausage, mushroom, and black olive pizzas recently. I am very impressed by how fresh and delicious they have been . I have also ordered their bbq wings and have been very good. Their prices are a bit high, but don't mind because they deliver fresh food and are always friendly.

I live in Edgewater, and this is my favorite pizza place. Their deep dish rivals Giordano's and Gino's and all the other heavyweights. Their thin crust version is quite tasty, too. I agree with John M's review about the spinach being very fresh and the pizza having the perfect amount of cheese, toppings, and sauce. There is something about their crust that is phenomenally tasty. As for non-pizza items, Tedino's makes a big tasty burger and a huge veggie sandwich. Their meatball sandwich is good, but often a little bit tepid in temperature. I adore the jalapeno poppers appetizer. Wednesday night is their 1/2 price pizza night, and it is a real bargain. They also have pasta, salads, and other sandwiches on their menu. As for going there to eat, the interior is very casual and nothing special. They have a plasma screen set up in back (nothing big or special), 80s music on the radio, and they even have a small bar. Unfortunately, due to the small bar, Tedino's permits smoking in the back which permeates into the non-smoking section. This is one aspect that often makes me opt for take-out instead. Service is usually awesome, although on Wednesday night, the servers are so busy that service can be slow, if not, a bit neglectful. The manager is really cool, and the people who work there are so darn nice. As for the customers, it's a pretty diverse crowd. You may often see a large table of senior citizens due to the retirement home next door, but they're pleasant people. I also notice a lot of cops that eat there, particularly on Wednesday night. They usually hang out in the back, and they're very friendly and nice to other customers. During warm weather, customers often sit outside in the patio area. With this great pizza place around, you find that you really don't need Giordano's, Gino's or Lou Malnati's around.

This is my 'local' pizza place, when there's nothing in the fridge and I don't feel like schlepping out to some place. I don't think I could even describe what their place looks like, but I've been getting deliveries from these guys for about 2 years now... Pizza (thin crust is what I normally get) is good. Nothing great, but almost never bad. Dough is tasty, and 99 times out of 100 cooked to perfection. Good portions on the toppings, and a nice balance of cheese to sauce. I've only had a sub-par pie from them once, and I still come back for more. My favorite thing about their pizza? The pepperoni. I have no idea why, but for some reason, theirs tastes a bit saltier and spicier than most. I've got their number in my cell phone listed as 'salt lick pizza'. But I mean that in a good way. Anyway, if you're in the area, or looking for quick delivery - they always arrive earlier than they predict on the phone - give these guys a chance. They may become your usual as well!

  • Eve A.

I used to work here. I will not tell you any horror stories, but know that they are there to be told. I detested the food even before I saw how it was prepared: crap Prince spaghetti noodles in canned sauce = $7.50 pasta dish. The same cheap canned sauce is used on the ludicrously overpriced pizza, with toppings, overly-floured dough, and bottom-of-the-barrel mozzarella to match. Salads are not unlike those at Wendy's. Appetizers are vile, near-spoiled produce fried in day-old oil. Saving graces: cheap, strong cocktails, excellent desserts (thanks to Bindi-Rossi, the main supplier for area Italian restaurants - you can find these anywhere) and some of the kindest, friendliest, hardest-working servers, cooks, drivers and managers anywhere. Tedino's suffers for its cheapskate kitchen - if it could clean this up, it would have a great thing going.

i have been ordering from tedinos ever since i moved to edgewater beach area. I love their stuffed opa greek pizza its got feta black olives and ummm so good..delivery is great i had one funny incident where i ordered a pizza and ran out to get a movie thinking i would be back at the perfect time and the delivery guy was early yes I said it early just as my cab arrived i saw him and ran in the door he was polite and my pizza was hot and ready to go..so if you love a cheesy pizza that's hot and fresh order tedinos and expect a fast delivery.

Although it is only steps away from my condo and my friend's absolute favorite deep dish pizza joint, my experience with tedinos has been average at best. Their deep dish is tasty for the first two bites but always leaves me feeling sick.

    (2)
  • Ginger D.

Tedino's is a great place to go for me because I live across the street from the joint. On a daily basis, I see many people walk in and out of Tedino's, so I decided to give it try one day. I went on a Wednesday. If Wednesdays didn't exist, I would give Tedino's 3 stars, but because of Wednesdays I give it 4 stars. Why? Because Wednesdays are half price pizzas (dine in only) at Tedino's. I believe you have to order at least a large size to get the half price deal, and the half price is only off the basic cheese. You still have to pay for each ingredient, but it's still a deal. If you like your pizzas with a little kick, I would recommend the buffalo wing pizza. One word: YUM! It has a good balance of cheese, chicken and buffalo sauce. When it comes out piping hot, it is absolutely divine. I also tried the deep dish pizza and it was surprisingly good. The crust is light and buttery, however I am partial to Giordano's stuffed crust. To it's defense, it puts up a fight. I believe Tedino's is a pizza joint where really the clientele is mostly locals in the edgewater area. The problem is, living in Chicago, you have a HUGE selection of pizza choices. I have been to many, and honestly, Tedino's just crush the competition. It stands a little more than mediocre in the middle. And that's not because it's a bad pizza joint with bad pizza. It's good, but there is so much competition out there. However if you are in the area (especially if it happens to be a Wednesday) do try Tedino's. Order a pizza and a beer and have a good time. If it's summer time, I suggest trying to sit out on the patio and enjoy the weather. The atmosphere outside is nicer than it is inside. If you have trouble finding parking, I believe you can try to park in the Breaker's (the big building behind Tedino's) parking lot, or find a meter near Foster.

Super thin is the best . Definitely top 5 of the far north side.

  • Dan T.

If you want "Chicago Style", this is the best there is. They have mastered the deep dish. Granted, one slice is the size of a small child, so I recommend having one of their able-bodied delivery persons take it to you, so you don't have to slide out of a restaurant booth afterwards. I'm a vegetarian who likes cheese pizza best, and I can attest that the cheese is so good you won't miss extraneous toppings. Also, a pet peeve of mine in Chicago is tomato sauce with the consistency of salsa. If I wanted wads of tomatoes on my food, I'd order it as a topping. Tedino's knows how to make a sweet, well blended sauce. None of that overhyped Giordano's for me, thanks.

  • Matt P.

I've only had their thin crust pizza and I like it. Its not the best in the city, but very far from the worst. They offer quick delivery and pick-up is fast and efficient as well. If you dine in, its nothing special. They also have a good amount of outdoor seating on the patio.

  • Brian N.

came here at about 4pm on a weekday & the place was empty. our waitress was very nice & the pizza took about 20 minutes to cook. we got a deep dish & thin crust. both pizzas did not disappoint. a little bit on the pricey side but definitely well worth it.

UPDATE 8.1.07: 'It can't be THAT good. It's just pizza' quickly turned into 'Since I'm going to be up in the city next week, can we go to Tedino's for dinner?' after my skeptical family joined me for dinner at Tedino's one night. As fond as they are of the usual suspects for deep dish in the city, they agree that Tedino's wipes the floor with the competition. _______________________ As a HUGE pizza fan in the greatest city for that particular food, I can confidently say that Tedino's has the Best Pizza in Chicago. You wouldn't know it by the amount of people dining in--but I can only reason that the word has not gotten out yet. It's definitely worth the trip up north--my favorite is the deep dish with spinach and garlic. YUM!

  • Kimberly K.

I found there to be nothing special about this Chicago-style pizza. It is VERY similar to Giordano's and was unimpressive. The crust, however, is better, flakey on the outside and slightly doughy on the inside. The place has a nice small town pizza joint feel, but the service was a little awkward. I'm still loyal to Lou Malnati's on the Chicago-style pizza front.

    (2)
  • Ann Y.

Really this is very average pizza for Chicago. Folks- you have lou malnati's, peaquod's and gino's east- why are you wasting your time here. It's not horrible, but nothing special.

    (2)
  • Zach W.

Overall just okay, very close by to our apt. But their menu is very limited and food is blah.

    (2)
  • Al K.

I had the small thin crust supreme pizza and I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was good but I thought the service was great. Granted the place wasn't packed, but the waitress came by often to refill our drinks and to check up on our progress. I couldn't give it the full 5 stars because I grew up on Lou Malnati's and so I only reserve the 5 stars to them. I find that this makes me somewhat of a pizza-snob. Despite being a pizza snob, I look forward to ordering other items from their menus in the near future. If you live in the Edgewater area, I highly recommend this joint.

A friend of mine used to live over by here and we ordered Tedino's once. So the guy hands me this box that felt like it had bricks in it. It was the deep dish pizza, and it was awesome.

Yum! Just tried Tedino's for the first time and it was delicious. We got thin crust pizza (for myself) and a burger (for my husband) delivered. Both were excellent. I can't wait to eat the leftover pizza tomorrow. We live in Edgewater and I'm thrilled to have found such a score close to us.

    (5)
  • Tom A.

Best pizza delivery place in the area. The deep dish is excellent, but their super thin is the best. Their crust is excellent is their sauce is perfect. I've never had a problem with them and would highly recommend them.

  • Gerardo A.

Good food, however they accidently F&@#ED up my delivery order. When they realized that they delivered extra food, the manager called me several times to investigate ... LOL, but horribly annoying. Then, they sent the poor driver back to my home to pick-up a stupid sandwich and onion rings. They couldn't resell the food by law, so my question was why did they return to my home for absolute bullshit? I immediately called the manager and told him what poor management and marketing skills he portrayed. He appologized for making a foolish decision, but honestly, I will NEVER order anything from Tedino's again. There are better pizzerias in Edgewater and Andersonville like Ranalli's (my favorite) and Calo's (expensive, but delicious).

  • Kristen F.

A friend brought me here the day I moved into the neighborhood. First, I am happy to know there's more by me than McDonald's and Dominick's! (Foster & Sheridan is a little sparse on the shops and restaurants.) A large pizza and 3 drinks came to just over $20 and there were leftovers. I think it could have used just a tad bit more flavor but overall, it was really good and very filling. We had 3 types of veggies on our pizza and it was over flowing with those 3 veggies. I like pizza cut in pie pieces butter (Tedino's cuts their pizzas in square pieces) but that just means you can eat more and it's not a deal breaker for me. I will definitely be going there again.

When I lived in Edgewater, I had discovered Tedino's after they had placed a carry-out menu underneath my apartment entry door. I was so impressed with their stuffed pizza I have not had a desire to try anything else off the menu. I took Stephanie K. here, and she agrees it is some of the best pizza in Chicago. The ingredients are primo- the spinach was fresh, crunchy even, and the layer of sauce over the cheese and toppings was just the right amount and perfectly seasoned. The crust was crispy, the cheese was hot, gooey and salty enough for my taste. A must-try for anyone living on the north side- but I suggest carrying out because the dining room severely lacks ambience.

Mmmmm.... Tedino's For those of you in the Edgewater area, Tedino's is a must try. I have never had anything besides the stuff sausage pizza and cheesy bread, but they have always both been excellent. The cheesy bread isn't anything special, just garlic bread with slices of mozzerella melted on top, but for some reason it always tastes amazing! The pizza is some of the best deep dish in the city. I agree with others - the dining room leaves a lot to be desired. However, should you choose to eat in, they pour strong, large drinks which are great bang for your buck! We usually deliver and they are always on time and friendly. In short, Tedino's is some of the best deep dish pizza in the city and very well priced.

Don't care much for the pizza (Carmen's is better locally) but the buffalo wings are good and the Italian beef sandwich is very, very good! -------- Update: it's been almost 3yrs since my last review and I must say that the Ital. beef sandwich is NOT what it use to be. It seems to me that they are using a different type of 'beef' for the sandwich... ....it sure isn't VIENNA BEEF -which, IMO, should be standard for any place in Chicago that sells hot dogs / hamburgers/ polish sausage / ital. beef -- there is just no excuse for not selling Chicago's Very Own when it's as good as Vienna Beef!

  • Q T.

I've never had bad food here, the deep dish and regular pizzas are good, and the delivery is nice. Plus, I am pretty sure there are actual Italian people here.

Food was packaged well. Delivery was prompt. Phone person was cordial. I don't like the fact that after I gave my credit card on the phone they take a paper copy. Delivery person was not very pleasant. I ordered a side of sausage that was very good, but the stuffed shells were gross. The salad was put on top of the hot food and so wilted. Blue cheese dressing had zero Blue Cheese. Total waste of $. I might give them another try. Not.

this is one of the better restaurants in the local area. they get italian perfect, though it's your basic menu. they have a special wednesdays: half price large pizzas. and free coke refills too. the service is good. i have a favorite waitress who always likes to know i remember her name (anka).

Tedino's makes the best pizza in Edgewater hands down. If you are looking to order pizza from a neighborhood place and you are worried that you might end up with something overly greasy, tasteless and rubbery than try Tedino's because their pizza is nothing like that. They have a variety of ingredients you can put on your pizza and their sauce is one of the best sauces I have ever had. Now, I've never ordered their other food, but the pizza is top notch. Once you order for delivery your information stays in the computer so you don't have to repeat your info. or what you'd like (if you want to order the same thing). The delivery has always been pretty quick.

    (5)
  • vitas z.

i'm happy to call tedino's my neighbor. both the deep dish and thin are great. probably the most cheese i've ever seen on a thin crust pizza without asking for it. the deep dish has a great buttery, flakey crust that i can't get enough of. and i can't complain about the prices. plus, the folks that work there have always been pretty nice. definitely a good spot for pizza.

as advertised, best pizza in andersonville/edgewater/uptown. plus the delivery man is a charming old fellow, far more elderly than one would expect from a pizza man. and square-cut pizza. we like that.
