Tracy is a goddess among waitresses. Food and service were wonderful. Highly recommend Sedwicks for a good time.

pretty awful place. the bartenders are useless. if you're over 25, avoid at all costs. if you're under 25, rock that baseball cap and blow SHlT up at Sedgwick's.

We came here on the wrong night. The place didn't have many people in it in the three or four tables that were filled we're playing some type a trivia game. We weren't interested in the trivia game and the MC was so loud that we couldn't have a conversation at our table. One of our group did ask him to turn it down a little bit. He didn't so we had one drink and left. It was just annoying. However and any other night it looks like a nice little bar. I saw some comfy couches, a pool table, and many high top tables. It really look like a nice place. The waitress we had couldn't have been cuter, and was very attentive. It was a really nice place just didn't fit our needs for that night. There's so many options in the area that we paid our tab and went to another bar.

We're from out of town. Bartender was super cool. Told us all about places we should check out. Food was great.

One of the worst experiences of my life. I would like to continue to come to this place, but to put it into the most cordial verbiage possible "one of the waiters here has the worst attitude ever. If I could negative tip I would." She instantly approached talking about the difficulty of having multiple checks... I've been here before and other waiters have never blinked an eye at this request. The establishment was not as busy as she made it seem. Her attitude was disgusting the whole night. I'm not sure how she serves in the hospitality industry. I'm disgusted. I don't plan on spending any money here ever again.

When they mess up your order they will not only not care about fixing it but will be very rude to you. Don't bother talking to the manager Jeff as he is very rude. I explained that the food I was given had something on it that I was allergic to. He told me not his problem as it was the fault of postmates who delivered it. He said my new food was waiting to be picked up but no one had ever come for it. I explained to him that I paid for delivery for a reason as I had had surgery and cannot leave my apartment. He told me that seem to not be his problem and he didn't know how I wanted him to help me. I've now waited for over two hours for my correct food and apparently will not be getting it and will have to figure out a way to get my refund.

There have been a lot of upgrades here since mid 2014 when there was a management change. The place is run much better now, and has even been renovated a bit. As always, the food is great here and the atmosphere is relaxed unless there is an important game on. Then the atmosphere gets charged and the place gets full. I'm completely addicted to their rice that comes with any of the Mexican dishes. I could eat that every day till I die.

Went here the past Sunday (March 1st) to be exact for their brunch which includes a decent brunch menu and the option for a $10 wrist band for unlimited mimosas and/or bloody Mary's till 3pm (brunch food 10am-2pm). Pros: -Our waitress was great! Very attentive, place wasn't too crowded, but she was the only waitress for a decent amount of tables that were there. -Food was decent with big portions -Price was affordable especially for the big portions. Cons: -Bartender/drinks: For one thing when we got the wristbands the waitress said we can use it to go to the bartender whenever we want more mimosa or bloody marys. So I go up with my empty glass and the bartender ignored me the entire time. I even moved closer to where he was still he just kept serving this one and only group sitting at the bar (clearly were his friends) while playing trivia games (i.e probably trivia crack). And as a former bartender for 3 years, his service like his drinks were weak and not great. Quite possibly a bloody mary mix.. honestly should of just had a V8. Overall might give this place a second chance in the future more for the decent/affordable food options, but not for the drinks which sucks cause it is a "bar" afterall.

Stopped in for lunch with coworkers. Great atmosphere in a hipster neighborhood, but this place is definitely a sports bar. Had a great seat by the window with good service from the bartender. I ordered the "So Damn Gouda Burger" which comes with a HUGE side of tots. Pretty good. My friends got the quesadillas and the turkey wrap which both looked good, but not impressive. Parking was scarce but we didn't have to walk too far. Originally came here for Stanley's but they were closed for lunch. Great local lunch spot with a little bit of everything and a full bar.

We went here for the MSU basketball game since they advertised as an MSU bar and figured it would be a guarantee good place to watch it. However, for some reason the Duke game was on audio and on the big tv. Extremely disappointed in their advertisement as an MSU bar. Only reason they get two stars is for the $5 stadium cups

I was feeling a bit homesick and wanted to watch the Cardinals game in a town full of Cubs and Sox bars. Enter Sedgwick's. The atmosphere is easy going and the service is fantastic. The tots were delicious and the beer selection is fantastic.

Meh best sums up my experience at Sedgwick's earlier this week. Some co-workers and I came for some drinks, trivia, and food. We ordered a bunch of appetizers: the super nachos, the chicken quesadillas, and the tater tot mountain in addition to trying out their $2 slider special. All of the food was lackluster at best. Bar food is not hard to do and Sedgwicks does not do it well. In addition to the not so great food our service was not good either. There were several times we had plenty of empty glasses on our table and had to wait to ask for another. I will say that the trivia was engaging and a lot of fun but it was not enough to make me want to make a return trip. There's just too many other bars in Chicago that do trivia with way better service and food.

We were at sedgwicks on March 1st, we had a great brunch. First, the food is perfect for Sunday Morning. We also participated in the $10 all you can drink and I couldn't disagree with the below post more. The drinks were strong, bloodies were spicy and made from their own mix. It was a great value! Everytime I've been there, the bartenders and waitresses pay attention to all the customers and make it feel like a bar that you can call home. I will be back and I hope the review below from that trick Kat H. doesn't push people away from Sedgwicks. I can't wait to go back every weekend! Brad the Bartender is f'ing amazing!!!

I've been to Sedgwick's many times... it is my local neighborhood bar and has all of the amenities for whatever kind of fun you are looking to have. Time and time again I am reminded why I like this place, the customer service, for one -- despite what has been displayed on this page -- is incredible. The employees are not only nice, but courteous, and seem to have a vested interest in the experience of their customers. The food is good, the tap selection is great for a local dive, and you feel like you stumbled in to one of your favorite places even if you've never been. Chicago is comprised of incredible dive bars filled with a mix of locals and tourists, and this is no exception. I would highly recommend Sedgwick's to a friend, a relative, or a total stranger.. with confidence.

Cardinals Bar! Great bar around the Old Town area. Fun atmosphere!

What the heck happened to this place as a game watch bar? The food is still good but there's nobody there anymore for Saturday football when they insist on showing St. Louis Blues games instead. Nobody manages the sound for games or puts all the other games in progress on the multiple TVs. Sad to see the place so empty when it used to be a sports bar.

I always like coming here because it doesn't get overcrowded, you can enjoy the music and conversation with friends unlike certain places in the area. They have good drink specials and free popcorn! We ordered the sampler appetizer and it was a lot of food. Plenty to split between 5 people!

After attempting to find a brunch place for me and a couple friends, we finally came to Sedgwick's, the only place that was not crowded wall to wall, nor had a line around the block. (Sunday afternoon, mind you.) Aside from the group of Shamrock Shuffler's that came in right after we sat down, our waitress was very nice and responsive. Once the group sat down behind us however, we experienced only a couple of problems. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was surprisingly delicious. I was very impressed because this was made just the way I like it. I could have done without the potatoes inside the burrito, but no matter. Still tasty. The man that brought out our food forgot my friends bleu cheese to dip, as well as my fresh fruit that was supposed to come with my meal. My burrito was also supposed to come with toast, but I don't think anyone remembered that bit on the menu. I didn't ask for it because I knew it was going to be too much food for me anyway, but still.... All else aside, the vibe of this place is great. Relaxed, neighborhood bar that can open the windows when it's nice outside. Pool tables and really friendly bar tenders. I'll come back again, but I'll likely try someplace else for brunch before I return here again.

The baseball game was awesome....the manager had unacceptable behavior..I work in the industry and we spent over $150 there..however the boss man was unsurprising in his jerkiness! We only had a $4 dispute.....but they treated us like we were in the wrong...unacceptable...he threw this receipt on our face......how unprofessional!!

Been there a few times with a group of friends after volleyball. The first time we had a great experience. The second time they would only honor two of our buy one get one pitcher coupons even though they never told us that up front, they didn't limit us the last time, it never stated a limit on the coupon, and the waitress early saw our pile of these without staying anything like I'm sorry but I can't honor any more after these two. When I asked to speak with a manager he was incredibly rude and said he didn't have time to talk to me because he had customers to speak to. I asked him if that meant we weren't customers and he just walked away from me. I called and emailed the place to speak with someone about the situation and never heard back. Needless to say I won't be returning.

Went here after a beach volleyball game with my team. Was able to grab a table for all 8 of us right away and the waitress was quick with our orders. DO NOT order the buffalo chicken wrap! Their sauce tastes funky to me.

I would like to comment on a recent experience I had at Sedgwick's because I am still, 3 days later, aggravated when I think about it. This past weekend, I was invited to attend a fundraiser for the Boys and Girl's Club of Chicago at this bar. The friend who invited me, our mutual friends who attended, and I are all responsible adults in our 30's. At no point was anyone being disrespectful, obnoxious or misbehaved during this event. However, the two bartenders on staff, a guy with a pony tail and a girl with dark hair, were treating everyone at the event horribly. This was single handedly the worst bar service I have had since relocating to Chicago last year. They were rude, never once smiled, and all but rolled their eyes every time a drink was ordered. I would like to add that every time someone in our group of almost 20 people went to the bar to get a drink, they came back and complained about how rude the bartenders were, so it was not an isolated group of us who felt this way. Treating people who were showing up and spending money to benefit a CHILDREN'S NON-PROFIT, of all benefits, this way is disgusting. And working in the service industry and having not one ounce of wisdom of what service is, is almost laughable. I will not be returning to this bar and neither will a good chunk of people who were there on Friday. **on a side note, the bouncer was very friendly when we arrived.

Can you hire people that know how to waitress. What the fuck. It's a cardinals game. Probably not a time to be understaffed or put your rookie team in. 1 hr 35 minutes and counting for a cheeseburger. You suck!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the best bars in Chicago! Mike, the owner, is friendly and creates a fun environment for everyone. There is a Euchre league on Tuesday and Wednesday nights that is out of this world! Also, you must try their food-definitely made with love. :) Love Love Love this place!

My favorite spot to watch #sports (Mizzou, Cardinals, Hawks, etc) and throw some back with my friends! Fantastic service and a menu that just can't quit. I have never had a bad time or experience here - I would recommend this hot spot in LP/Old Town to anyone. TRY THE SAMPLER PLATTER.

Well I have never been at a place where not one but two bartenders were as rude as two of the people working last night. I was there for a charity event and paid some money at the door. When I walked in I asked for two drinks. The guy just handed me one. I said I needed another one. With a not very friendly tone the bartender told me that they cannot give out two drinks. I did not make a big stink about it and I went on my night. Each and every time I went to get a drink the guy bartender with a pony tail or his little female bartender friend acted like we were annoying them. As soon as the drink deal was done I gave them another chance to see if they will treat "paying customers" better. It was the same. At one time this was a good bar. I think management should stress to their staff that the city is full of people who can be a bartender and if the staff is going to act like a-holes to customers they should work somewhere else.

Oh Sedgwicks, you anger me. I've been here during non-baseball season, and it's always been Meh, it's a bar, whatever... but recently I've tried to watch the Cardinals at Sedgwicks during the 2011 World Series (and let's not forget my efforts to go there during the 2006 World Series as well). I always think, MAYBE THIS TIME will be different. But no. Each time, during these all important games, I've left and gone to Gamekeepers. Why, you ask, would a Cardinals fan leave a Cardinals bar during the World Series? Because at Sedgwicks apparently you're not allowed to sit anywhere, at all, unless you have a "reservation". Please note that I have NO IDEA how you obtain these "reservations", apparently if you're not a regular, your money doesn't spend. This biz model doesn't exactly float my boat, so peace, Sedgwicks. Basically, this bar would rather have 20 empty tables with signs on them waiting for their prized guests, as opposed to patrons sitting at those tables, buying drinks, hours before the game even starts. It boggles my mind. I'm not someone who likes to complain... I like to sit back, drink a beer & watch my favorite baseball team kick some ass, while surrounded by like-minded friends. And these are the reasons why I go somewhere else.

One of my favorite neighborhood bars in Chicago! They have a great euchre league on Tuesdays that I have been a part of for quite some time now. The staff is always friendly and the food is above average for bar food. The free popcorn and free late night buffets on the weekends are hard to beat. I would definitely recommend coming here to catch a game or for a night out with friends! I always have a great night at Sedgwick's!

We went there on Sunday March 30th to grab some drinks and some food. When we sat down,(there were 4 of us) we told the waitress immediately that we were starving. I had just finished running the shamrock shuffle. She brought us our drinks and we waited 30 minutes as she passed our table numerous times and never stopped. This waitresses name was Brittany. After about 30 minutes, we stopped her and said we were ready to order. We all ordered THE EXACT SAME THING. Chicken strips. After we ordered, 20 minutes went by... 30 minutes went by.. and then we stopped her and she said "oh let me go yell at the cooks".. 45 minutes went by.. and finally an hour went by.. I walked up to her and was frustrated at this point and she just kept saying.. "Let me check" When the food finally came out, the order still wasn't even complete. We were STILL missing food. 20 more minutes went by and we FINALLY got our correct order. Not even a single apology for the wait. When we received our bill had added about 55.00 of extra items to our bill. We talked to the manager, he took care of it but not a single apology or ANYTHING. Just pure rudeness and no customer service skills whatsoever. Terrible bar.. stay away!

1 star, because negative stars is not an option. I have never had such horrible experience anywhere as I did last night at Sedgewicks. My softball team arrived around 9pm as our league has a promo with the bar. I have been to Sedgewicks with my softball team and numerous other times without a problem. I wasn't so lucky this time. The service was poor the whole night. There definitely weren't too many customers to deal with. The waitress came over to our table no more than 2 times between 9 PM and 1 AM. We ordered most of our drinks directly from the bar. A busboy never came by the table to remove empty glasses. They ended up broken on the floor after a very drunk customer did the busboy's job for him. Usually you have to fight off busboys from taking your drink before you finish it. The night wound down and checks were brought out. My check was shared with one friend. The total was $30.50. My friend and I discussed the poor service and debated whether we should leave $31 or $33. We didn't have exact change or we would have left $30.51. We settled on $33 as that would be some tip for the (minimal and poor) work the server did yet send the message. The server took the check and returned it a few minute later by flinging it on to our table exclaiming, "You can keep the change!" Offended, we kept the change and walked out a few minutes later. Once outside, my friend and I waited about 15 feet away from the exit while the rest of our party exited. Our server was already outside talk to the bouncer by the entrance. Our server ended her conversation with the bouncer and walked towards my friend. Then the server escalated it and grabbed my friend and pushed her backwards as she continued yelling about the tip. The girls eventually separated as I called the cops. Unfortunately my friend didn't want to wait around to press charges so Sedgewicks escaped without sufficient punishment. After reading other reviews I shouldn't be surprised.

I went there for trivia night (excellent host...very good) and likes the atmosphere. the waitresses were cute and friendly, if not busy. i'd like to go into detail but there was nothing that really stood out about tis place. didn't give a warm friendly vibe, didn't seem like a sports bar...it just lacked something. but free popcorn and great trivia makes this place a keeper for Wednesdays.

A good place to go after any sports game played in Lincoln Park. They have good deals for teams that want to get sponsored too. Recently things have gotten a bit crazier because they started doing a Pitcher Drinking Contest. If you don't feel like being around a fair amount of smelly, drunk softball players you might want to head somewhere else. It is a fun, laid back atmosphere with bar food and cute waitresses. See you on Sat!

There's really just not much to say about this place. Meh is about as accurate of a description as I can imagine. I came here at 5 PM on a Thursday night to grab a drink and some conversation with a friend. The place was pretty empty, yet the service was painfully slow. My vodka soda was noticeably light on the vodka, her vodka martini was unbelievably large (and strong). The highlight of the evening (aside from the fantastic company) was the chips and salsa. Seriously fantastic salsa.

I got a really nice e-mail from management at Sedgwick's following my below review. It was a very sincere, genuine apology for the downside of my visit. I'm prompted to upgrade. There are too many establishments in this city that either A) do not care about their patrons, or B) actively and openly dislike them. Sedgwick's would appear to not be one of those places. Good on them. We'll be around again.

I've been here a bunch of times for drinks and dinner. The place is a blast to watch sporting events and the food is a notch above standard bar food. Decided to check it out for brunch since I was in the neighborhood this weekend. When we walked in, there was no waitress in sight, so I had to go ask the bartender for a menu. We ordered the breakfast tacos (one of each) and an omelet with egg whites. The food took a while to come, which was surprising since there were three other people in the bar and no one else was eating. When the food came, it looked great. One big problem- my omelet was not egg white. This normally wouldn't be a big deal, but I have been making a concerted effort to eat healthy lately. When I sent it back, it took forever to get it remade. The breakfast tacos were amazing and the omelet wasn't bad, but it would have been great if I could have eaten at the same time as my boyfriend. While the waitress came to check on us when the food came, she was nowhere to be found when we were ready for the check. I'll come back for brunch when I have time to kill, but not when I want a quick bite to eat.

We booked a big welcome home party here when my brother got back from active duty in Iraq. We had over 100 people, and the reason we chose this place was due to it being close to where he was living. We got an all-you-can-drink package in the basement. It started out fine. Nothing exceptional, nothing to write home about or complain about. However, it was about three hours in that everything went south. Despite the fact we were throwing a party for a veteran, despite paying them a ton of money and despite tipping very well... they wouldn't let ONE person come in to the party who was a designated driver without paying. We had one person come to start shuttling people home throughout the night so they didn't have to drive drunk or wander late night... and they refused to let that person hang out at all without paying the full bar package amount (let's not forget that the party had already been going for hours). When I tried to explain the situation to the management on staff, they were ridiculously dismissive and rude. I explained to them (again) that we had over a 100 paying people, were incredibly generous in our tipping, we were polite, we were doing this as a welcome home party for a soldier... and last but not least... it was so a DD could come down to the party and not wait upstairs. The manager got in my face and threatened to throw me out if I didn't leave him alone. Needless to say they have never had a single person from that party back at that bar. Shameful.

I wouldn't even leave a star if I didn't have to. We went to Sedgwicks for a final drink of the night to end a great evening. We had a bartender by the name of Nicole who was absolutely horrible. She had an attitude the entire time she was serving us. She made us fee like she didn't want to be there serving us and was rude with many of her comments. To sum it up it was an awful end to a great evening. Will probably not look to visit Sedgwicks again because of the service we received.

Just an average sports bar. They have pool table. layout is pretty average. At least it is an older connected building. Right next door to Stanley kitchen. An area to bar hop. Good service from lone bartender. Came back to pool area to ask me and another guy if we wanted anything.

This place gets 2 stars because it has good food and drinks but the service is terrible! One time the waitress told me that she would give us one of our 2 buckets of beer for free because the food took so long, but then she later said that she couldn't do it. We already paid half of our bill and then she had to go do another transaction to charge us again! Needless to say, I was not impressed. I won't go back. If its even remotely busy, don't waste your time.

There really is nothing special about this bar, but I always seem to have a good time here. Like Aubrey says in her review the space is pretty large so there is plenty of room to move around! The drinks are cheap, the bartenders are friendly, and the atmosphere is laid back! It sounds like I"ll have to try one of those $4 long island iced teas on my next visit, which may increase my rating to 5 stars.

Sedgwick's is very close to becoming my Cheers. I recently moved to Chicago and have been looking for a bar to call my own. A friend of mine invited me to play euchre there and within a couple visits most of the staff knew who I was by name, including Mike, the owner, who is always very welcoming. The one star deduction is because the girl's bathroom likes to act up, it's no surprise that a girl had to use the men's bathroom. I mean, I have, luckily no one ever saw me because I'd hate to get asked to leave for something so silly. With that said, Mike has put together a pretty great team to show you a good time. To name a few... Rock is the greatest bouncer you'll ever meet, and he's always looking out for the well being of the clientele. Rojelio is always cleaning up around you to make sure you're never sitting in a pile of empty glasses and delivering food with a smile on his face and a welcoming greeting every time, he especially likes it when you give him a couple lines in Spanish. Kurt is always slinging drinks with a confidence and poise that you know this man knows how to pour a good drink, especially a nice, cold, PBR. Jen and the other cocktail girls are always busting ass to make sure you get your drinks on time and you never see the bottom of your glass if you don't want you. All-in-all, I'll never play euchre anywhere else (even if I could find another place to play, that is...)

I feel like this place might be tolerable when it isn't crowded, but Lord when it is it is the worst. The bar is too small to accommodate all the douchebags who shove their way to the front to order the next round of Bud Lights. There were maybe three bartenders the Saturday I attended this fine establishment. All of them were moving at a very comfortably slow pace. As I'm sure they were trying to offset the spiral into insanity that working at this bar must cause, for the patrons the result is having to wait for 20 minutes while dodging hambone elbows. Also, the bartenders loved to roll their eyes. Loved it. There is a free buffet at night. If you can crowd surf over to it and are drunk enough to eat it, it's really not so bad. Is going here worth it? No, not really. If you live near here and go during the week I'm sure it's fine. What really has me confused is how people in their 30s still want to relive college by going to shitty bars and making it shitty for the rest of us. Also, just so you don't discount this review by assuming that I'm one of those self-righteous, artsy blue liners (I'm done using the "H" word. Hearing/reading people use it constantly makes me want to punch somebody) that loves hating on Lincoln Park establishments: All of my LP friends with whom I was there---who are intelligent, put-together career-types---all couldn't stand the place. And there are neighborhood bars in Lincoln Park I have been to and much prefer.

I have two different reviews for this place. My review when sober: It's OK, kinda noisy from all the people yelling because they are way into college sports. Too many dudes eager to eyeball you for checking out their cute girlfriend. Food is edible. My review when drunk: Hey let's go in here! Ah yeah its full of people and music is bumping. Check out all these cute girls. Who does that a-hole think he is looking at me. What, a late night buffet. I love greasy food. Who wants shots!

I'll admit I've never come here as the "first choice," but that's not to say I didn't give it a fair shake. Like many weekend brunchers who are too impatient to wait an hour for Stanley's, I have found myself at Sedgwicks. The food is not bad, no one among the combined 6 people I have eaten here with ever had a complaint about the food. The one dish that made the rest regretful for having passed up was The Stacker, on the brunch menu. This impressive plate has a little bit of everything on the breakfast menu piled high. The rest of ordered standard bar food, all mediocre- no complaints but nothing stood out that would have me craving to return. This is a great place to watch a game if you want TVs in every corner, including a wall-sized screen, but without the crowd. I have not seen Sedgwicks "crowded," and I was last there during a Bears game on a Sunday. It doesn't have a whole lot more to offer than a game day joint, and doesnt have any appeal as somewhere I'd want to hang out at night. I almost gave two stars because the service was sooooo bad the last time, but that was once out of 3 visits. How bad? Finished my beer (my first of what I thought might be three) and my water, and at no point did she come see if I would like another. The busser brought our food out and cleared, and she didn't stop by during that time. The service stopped after one round of drinks and taking down our food orders, we even had to find her to get the bill. Prices are reasonable, so if you're looking for a back-up plan in the area on a Sunday afternoon this is definitely an option, but I stand by my initial statement that this hasn't been a First Choice place for me.

Came here for one of the college hoops final games. It was packed. duh. Tables were being reserved. Bar seats at the bar were being reserved. Not cool if you get there early enough and expect a seat. There were a bunch of tv's, which was nice. The only seats available were downstairts, but it was completely empty, so we managed to steal two chairs and pony up to the pool table. I think it was pretty expensive too. Eh..

Total neighborhood bar. Really like it here. Next time will definitely go to the bar, though. The bartender is great, very knowledgeable and attentive and I tried a beer I loved because of him! Our second visit had pretty blah service from the server but we still really enjoyed our food and drinks. Very laid back place with GREAT specials! Every day of the week you can get some awesome deal and we LOVE that!! Will definitely be returning to this neighborhoody bar!

No idea why I expected raging alcoholics to be present at 2pm on a Friday afternoon here. Clearly I was wrong in my assumption and we were 3/6 people there to include the part owner making bloody mary mix. Beer was typical as was the bar food. Perhaps I should come at a better time.

One of my fave sports/soccer bar in Lincoln park! Great service, extremely friendly server and hostess, and I really like most of their salads entree. Definitely a great place to watch a football/soccer game in Lincoln park. Can't wait to get back there for the World Cup Fever! Oh, and there's plenty of street parking around the area too.

I feel bad for having to give Sedgwick's 1 star, as I have been there several times, but I have never had such a bad experience. The 1 start is only because of the service we received at the end of the night. Sedgwick's is my friends favorite bar; every time he comes to town (which is almost weekly) he goes to Sedgwick's. His birthday happens to be today, so you put two and two together and we went there tonight for his birthday celebration. Everything was going well until closing. As we were finishing up our drinks a waitress came up to our group and asked if we closed out our tabs. We all responded that we did. She then asks my friend, whose birthday it was, if he was upset that she wouldn't play the song he requested (earlier in the night). He said no. She then segued into story that he tipped less than 10%. He was offended that she brought this up in front of people and she countered that no one could hear. Um, I call BS right now because I did overhear this conversation. Several things upset me about this: 1) As a server, you do not call a person out on their tipping style (good or bad). 2) He tipped on every drink (to the bartender), $1 per drink; $1 per drink is a pretty average tipping style. 3) The waitress did not come over to us ONCE, in fact, I did not even know that a waitress was available until after our tabs were closed; the whole group (over 10 people) had to go to the bar to get their drink(s) throughout the whole. 4) As mentioned, we went to the bar for our drinks, and personally, I tipped generously. 5) If you combine all of the tips from our group it was more than 20%. I must say, Megan, who helped me and my friend at the bar several times was awesome (P.S. I loved her shirt, totally cute tank). The bar experience was fine; Rock, the bouncer was great, however the waitress who decided to suddenly appear from nowhere ended up ruining our whole night. Her attitude was completely inappropriate AND unacceptable.

Yay! I found a bar in Chicago where they love the STL Cardinals :) I came in for the first time this past Friday and ordered a couple Long Islands...the friendly and beautiful bartender filled up the glass probably 3/4 of the way with liquor...definitely worth my $5. There are plenty of TVs and a massive projection screen. At 11pm the kitchen staff busted out a free buffet. What?! The wings were good and the free pizza was cool. Hip hop was a plus (so much classic rock in that area). I love this place :)

I guess there isn't a whole lot that sets Sedgwick's apart from other similar bars. It's got a couple big rooms, a pool table, a bunch of tvs, a bunch of standing bar tables, a few booths, a standard bar menu, and it's named in the possessive after the street it's located on. Nevertheless, Sedgwick's provides a fun atmosphere to watch a game with a bunch of friends and to eat, drink and have general merriment. If you are here for a cards game and you can get past the general anti-St. Louis baseball sentiment in Chicago, you will enjoy the vibe.

I've never really found a sports bar that I didn't like. Sedgwick's is no different! I had my birthday party there in October, $20 domestics and wells for 3 hours (I could pick any time I wanted). It was the best bar birthday I have ever hosted or been to. There was a lot of room for all of my guest and never got over crowded. We kind of took over the side room with the pool table so that became our "private room." I've also eaten dinner here on Trivia Night. We had the burgers which were delicious! Mine had smoked Gouda and jalapenos, never seen that before! I love bar trivia and we won 3rd place! We couldn't take the prize because it was tickets to a no name band show on a night we weren't free so they gave us a free round of drinks instead. I thought that was super nice of them because they could have said "tough luck, find someone else who wants the tickets!"

Great for Watching Illini games. The folks working there are nice. It gets way too crowded on weekends - especially summer weekends. So either get there slightly early and find a good spot or go somewhere else - (hence the 4 stars)

This place is terrible. Insanely rude staff. Wish I could give it 0 stars. Not about to take crap and pay money. What a joke. Like Karen C's comment, gave it another chance, same result. AWFUL.

Shout out to Sedge-weezy's! It is the ideal place to watch an Illini game. It isn't insanely crowded, but I always run into someone from college to reminisce about how great Kam's was on game days. The owner is easy to get a hold of to reserve tables for large groups, which is the best. He even set up a bus for our group of 50 people to take to the Illini game at the United Center last year and we drank at Sedgewick's before and after. Always have a good time there, but I never go for non-Illini related events.

I had my birthday here last weekend. I opted for a $25/person bar package for my guests, which consisted of all the wells, wine, and domestic drafts you could drink from 9-midnight. The staff at the door were friendly (it was one guy's first night on the job, so I thought it was hilarious when he told me that my party was upstairs--they don't have an upstairs) and I had 3 tables reserved, as promised. What I liked, beyond the good deal we got, was the ease in scheduling this--it was all done via email with the bar's manager, and I didn't have to guarantee a crazy amount of people. Though we didn't have one set waitress for the first half of the night, we did have a great girl checking on us throughout the later hours of the night, on a very consistent basis. It was a great place to celebrate and I would definitely go back!

Watched a Bulls game here during the second round of the 2011 playoffs. Since the Bulls peat the piss out of ATL in this game, we of course had a great time. The beer was expensive, but we had a great table in front of the big pull down screen with the game on. The pool table didn't work though which is weak sauce, so they should definitely get that fixed. Great location though, so I'm sure I'll be back. Probably just for drinks though and hopefully outside.

Yes, Sedgwicks is a nice bar to live above. It does me good. Whenever I need some grub and I don't want to travel far I just order from good ol' Sedgwicks and walk down my stairs to pick it up. I find the staff there to be very friendly (maybe it's because I come in there every now and then). I have had many good nights here and I'm sure the good times will keep on rolling. Like last Monday for instance. I went in with one of my friends to have some dinner and a beer or two. The place was DEAD and I mean dead. There were two other patrons at the bar and that was it, then they left and it was just us and the cocktail waitress and bartender. The girls were so cute, they turned on The City and we all sat at the bar and watched it. We had some good conversation, great food and nice cold brews. I love the vibes I get whenever I'm in this place. I usually come down for free pool on Monday's so I can bet all the drunk people and clean house. haha. Since I work in the industry, the weekdays are my nights to go out so it's usually a random Wednesday night or something that I end up at this place, plenty of strong obombs later I'm feeling pretty dandy. Oh Sedgwicks, what would I do without you and your staff?

One time, at Sedgwick's, I was drinking and the clock struck midnight, but instead of losing my glass slipper, there was a free bar food buffet out of nowhere! One time, at Sedgwick's, I was hanging out with my friends and some really drunk guys were throwing darts at the dart board from behind the billiard table (25ft away) and taking bets for $20 each on who can come closest to the center. I eventually succumbed to their pressure. They all missed the dartboard. Hell, they even missed the dart machine. I bought them shots with the $80 I won and pocketed the change. One time, at Sedgwick's, I came in from an ugly Christmas sweater party wearing my ugly Hanukkah sweater (blue, with a Menorah that lights up and some gelt taped to it) and played some billiards. I like bars with billiard tables. Also, some girl closing her tab at the bar was a bitch to me that day, but if you're reading this, I finally forgive you. Otherwise, it's a pretty normal bar ...

I came here last night for my friends birthday party. $20 for 3 hours of domestic and well drinks. It was a fun place that has a free food buffet at 11pm!! How smart are they?! I didn't partake in the buffet but friends brought back egg rolls and wings. I heard there were more offerings as well. It is a sports bar that has a pool table! The bar is spacious with three separate areas. Tv's are every where in the bar so you can't miss any sports game wherever you sit. It seemed to be a younger crowd with some older people in the mix. I definitely would come back to visit with friends. And, before a Bears game, you can brunch at Stanley's right next door!

This bar is typical. Whatever. The bartender was a complete dick though and thusly I give a poorer review than I would have otherwise. Bar food, Bar drinks, Sports stuff, and some good ads and murals that make it kinda stand out from all of the other bars that are exactly like this one.

Them: Have you heard about our Anniversary Party - free well drinks and beers for three hours and free hors d'oeuvres? Us: Well no we haven't, but what a pleasant surprise! Drinking and eating for free. I was so excited I couldn't even finish my drink (excited for my subsequent concert).... That alone almost made me give four stars. I wish we could have stayed longer - the crowd was a little Old-Towny but more low-key - and there's plenty of space to avoid the DBs if you want. I really wasn't offended by the bar or the clientele as many others have been, and I consider myself to be a pretty picky bar-goer. To the guys who were banging on the windows the first and second time we left (once pre-show and once post-show) - sorry, not so much. But thanks for the amusement. Luckily the glass is strong.

If you think Dane Cook is hilarious and you can't wait for "Sweet Caroline" to come on the jukebox, you should go hang out here so that I can avoid both you and this bar in one fell swoop. But I will still give Sedgwick's one star for all the fake-breasted Trixie eye candy.

I don't live in Lincoln Park anymore, but I used to live right around the corner. I know why people don't like this place, but those are some of the reasons I do. It's super crowded on weekends, but during the week, it's usually quiet and casual... well, except for game nights. Good place to bring a group of friends- and who can beat free buffet Saturday nights?

From the outside, it appears that Sedgwick's is going to be cooler than it is. Lucky for Sedgwick's, there's not many competitors as far as bars go on this cutesy corner of the Lincoln Park/ Old Town border. If you're lookin' to drink, I suggest not to go in unless you've just come from a coed soccer game, or you believe a Dave Matthews cover of "pour some sugar on meeeee" would be heaven. Otherwise you will stick out . The bartenders are kinda rude, and the specials are wack. Ladies: you'll for sure get a workout squatting and dodging all the potential viruses in the bathroom. If you're lookin to eat, this place is just meh, ok, and a little too pricey for what it is. Something they do have going for them is that the kitchen is open until 1am every night. I sometimes forget to eat dinner until it's pretty late and I'm tired... "Welp, Sedgwick's it is."

Came here to watch the Bulls game and it was a blast! To top it off, one of the TVs was playing the Cards game, so I could actually keep an eye on my fave baseball team. The service was super quick and always around, but not pestering. The wings were on special, which turned out to be so-so. I'd order them again, but nothing fantastic. The Thurs drink special was $3 well drinks and boy oh boy, they were a little on the strong side. I loved it! Made that food taste extra yummy. The weird thing? There was a kid, about 10 yrs old, sitting with a group of patrons that were drinking. I just don't usually see that, actually never have. Didn't know kids were allowed in bars. They checked my ID pretty closely, maybe he had a really good one?

Went to Sedgwick's on a Thursday night. Was not my first time there, but this was the first time I ate anything off the menu. I would have been better going hungry. This place does have a great bar selection however what I was served a 5 year old could have made. Why's that? Because 5 year olds know how to work a microwave. My monster tater tot's with bacon, not even hot out of the microwave. Just room temp and it all tasted like nothing. The butternut squash soup (which my mother literally makes my favorite) obviously from a container and again, room temp. The grilled cheese with tomato and bacon....yes, the same microwaved tasteless bacon that was on my tater tots (you know it's microwaved when it's dry and greaseless and rubbery) oh yes, and the greenish tomato that was wedged in there. The grilled cheese was the only thing possibly not microwaved, but I stand by the fact that it could have been since most grilled cheeses have a crisp to the bread from having butter slathered on it and grilled. This grilled cheese did not. All in all, I would go back for drinks, I would not touch anything on the menu again. The bummer is, this place was recommended by the person who put up their satellite tv's and surround sound. I don't know if the kitchen just went downhill or if it was a fluke but it was bad enough that I won't eat there again.

Went here to watch Mizzou game with some friends last night. Its not very good. First of all $18 buckets is not a special. Secondly, if you know you are gonna be busy have more than 2 servers on. Last but not least hire someone to develop your menu your food is terrible.

I used to go here all the time when I lived in this neighborhood. They have amazing food! I've dined in and ordered out and I've always been really impressed. The burgers and appetizers are wonderful. The spinach dip and the veggie quesadillas stand out in particular -- yum! I also liked the bar a lot. It was pretty dead on typical weekdays but got kind of packed on the weekends. It has a nice casual feel and I enjoyed watching sporting events here. I'll definitely come visit again but now live way north so it's not really convenient for me.

I like Sedgwicks! They have a good intramural sports crowd during the week. Can't say I have been here on a weekend evening in some time, but the softball team I play on has been coming here for close to ten years (8 of which I have been a part of). They treat you well and the waitresses are great to talk to and treat you well, Jenna and Kelsey in particular. We have had those two for the last two years off and on and hope to have them again

I love college football. My other college football loving friends here went to Iowa. Since I am completely outnumbered, it's a good bet that you will find me here with them on any given fall Saturday. The staff is nice, the bar has a good number of tvs, but the food.....Lord have mercy. It's TERRIBLE. Seriously. Avoid all items but the turkey burger, which is pretty good. Why these Iowa fans let this bar get away with selling what amounts to shit on a plate is beyond me. I have taken to eating around the corner at Stanley's or at Gamekeepers and then heading over. I recommend anyone else do the same.

we went there on a Saturday to hang out and watch a game. My friends ordered beer, and one commented that the bucket was only $0.25 cheaper per beer that way--I am not a beer drinker, but she was surprised that the bucket only contained 4, saying usually it is 5. We split poppers and spinach 4-cheese artichoke dip. The dip was served in a bread bowl and was so good and cheesy, and the poppers were perfect. I had originally wanted to go elsewhere for dinner, but when I saw the big menu board on the wall saying the dip was $6.95 and poppers $5.75, I figured what the heck, can't beat those prices. Boy were we surprised when we got the check and those weren't the prices. We questioned the waitress and she shrugged it off, saying the menu board was 10 years old and the prices were wrong. WELL THEN TAKE IT DOWN. It was only a few bucks difference, so it wasn't only about the money (though I don't know if I would have spent $9 on dip), but it was more about the principle. Don't have a huge freakin sign on the wall with prices that are not accurate. I suppose one could say we should have looked at a real menu, but with the big one on the wall, I presumed we didn't have to. I wouldn't say don't go, but if you order food, look at the hand menus, don't rely on the board. Also, maybe it was because she was overwhelmed, but the waitress charged my friends for beers that had already paid for (so look over your check carefully).

Ok, so I've been here at least three dozen times. My good friend is a "regular" there, so every time we meet up, that's the place we either start, or wind up. Also, a good place to go after volleyball games in the summer. Anyway, here's the scoop: Food: I think this place has GREAT bar food. Good burgers, great wraps and sandwiches. Remember, you are not at a fancy restaurant here, so don't expect revolutionary cuisine. Their wings are so-so at best, but on Friday and Saturday nights, they serve up FREE appetizers, which includes wings, pizza, and zitti. Drinks: Nothing spectacular here, but all the bartenders know how to make all the regular drinks, and are good at it. Good options on tap, such as Guinness and Harp. Service: The service is as good as it gets at a bar. I've never had a problem with food or drink orders. It's quick, it's friendly, and very pleasant. In general, the staff is very friendly and likes to joke around -- particularly the bouncers, who only work nights. Atmosphere: During the day, this place is a great place to catch your favorite game. They have lots of TV's, and lots of HD channels, so if you can't see the game you want to watch is already on, just ask someone to change the channel for you. The bar isn't busy during weeknights and during the day on the weekends, but picks up on Friday and Saturday nights. They have a pool table and darts. I didn't know this was a Cardinals bar until I saw another yelper's review. I am pretty sure that it is not a Cardinals bar, but I could be wrong. I do know that a certain crappy Cubs closer used to come here when he first moved to Chicago. Summary: Great bar with good food options, great service, and good atmosphere. It's not a restaurant, and it doesn't pretend to be one. Grab a sandwich or a wrap, order a pitcher of beer, and sit down to enjoy a game in HD.

Sedgwicks is a fantastic bar. There is plenty of seating, always food/drink specials, tons of TV's and a PARTY ROOM available for special events. The manager of the bar is super nice, as are most of the bartenders. Some of the waitresses aren't the brightest, but they are always cute. I play euchre on Tuesdays at Sedwicks, and always get beers, 1/2 price appetizers (M-F till 7!), and sometimes the FREE POPCORN! It seems like some other commentators have made negative reviews, but you must accept this gem as a neighborhood bar. Of course the food menu doesn't compare to other Chicago restaurants, but it is MUCH better than lots of bar food we often find at other places. I recommend this place for parties, sporting events, fun weekends, and good food!

I went with a group of six people to watch a college basketball game that started at 11am. We started by ordering coffee, and then we switched to real drinks - Bloody Mary, beer, and Mimosa. The Mimosa was one of the morning's specials, and, at $4, was a good deal. The Goose Island drafts were $5, which seems about average. The Bloody Mary my friend ordered looked really good, and he said it was above average. We stayed for the whole basketball game, and out waitress was attentive and not intrusive. Why the two stars? Well, we ordered lunch - and we stayed long enough for the college football games to start. Lunch was simply bad. I ordered a turkey burger. It was overcooked, bone dry, and served with lettuce and tomatoes that had seen better days. The french fries looked like something that you might have gotten from my grade school cafeteria, which might not be so bad but I am in my late 30s and I haven't been in grade school for nearly thirty years. Yuck. One of my friends ordered a salad, which looked unappealing. She didn't finish it. The other folks at the table ordered nachos and quesadillas, and they looked ok but I don't know if they were actually any good or not. You might wonder why I didn't ask my friends how their food was - it was because I had given up on participating in conversations with people who weren't sitting next to me. The sound level was deafening. After the basketball game ended the TVs were tuned to an assortment of college football games and the sound system began playing music. The volume was totally inappropriate for a Saturday afternoon. It might have been fine for 10PM, but in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday I would like to have been able to hear the conversation at my table. While the waitress continued to provide very good service, the rest of the service staff "helping" our table seemed intent on taking our water and soda glasses. I really liked the "feel" and the decor in Sedgwick's so I will probably go back and try it again - though I suspect that it will only be for drinks. The food seemed like a lost cause.

I was impressed in some ways and unimpressed in others. Was here the other night during a Bull's playoff game. The service was acceptable, but the food was only average. For an $8 or $9 burger i expect a bunch of little extra touches that don't cost anything, but alas, a plain bun, crappy fries and even the pickle was minuscule. Though the variety of the menu is better than you see at a lot of places (burgers, wraps, sandwiches, mexican, pizza, pasta). Perhaps this variety is at the cost of quality? A bright spot is the beers on tap, which feature the regular macro-brews plus Fat Tire, Newcastle and a handful of other micro-brews. Their nightly specials are decent as well.

Everytime my friends and I go to Sedgwick's we wonder why we don't go there more often. On a Saturday night we arrived around 11:15 p.m., found a table right away for our group of 6, started enjoying pint glasses of Jim Beam & Diet Coke (or Captain Morgan) for $4 and proceeded to have a wonderful time. Cue the free food at midnight (every Friday and Saturday) and you've got yourself one heckuva Saturday night. Add in the fact that all the TV's (at that time) were tuned to the Brewers game which made for one very happy boyfriend - and this place was the perfect choice. It's not trendy. It's not uber-cool. It's a great place to bring your friends, have some cocktails and enjoy each other's company. Oh, and they have darts, which I've found is one of the only bars in the city that has them. And they're an Iowa bar. I heart the Hawkeyes. These two items push them up to 5 stars.

Eh... not really a fan. I am leery of writing this review; I'm getting older and while I love it, sometimes I'm afraid of becoming that grown up snob I used to hate. But, alas, I am getting older and therefore, I think Sedgwick's sucks. Very college/frat-ish crowd (maybe my problem is picking the wrong bars/neighborhood?), lots of cute guys that I would have loved to talk to five years ago. Some wasted guy kept bumping into me while he was trying to text; I turned to ask him what the eff when he said, "Where are we? Are we at Stanley's or Sedgwick's?" It made the night a little better. I told him that while we should be at Stanley's, we were sadly at Sedgwick's. I also told him it sucked there. He just smiled. I am positive he had no idea what I said. The bouncer was friendly, my companion for the evening made friends with him, they shared stories about being large men who throw people out of bars. The drinks were fine, not strong, not weak. We grabbed some food- crazy for me, I NEVER eat bar food. Quesedillas were pretty decent, big portion; his nachos were "delicious" according to Matt, but he was wasted so I'm sure anything would have been delish at that point. I will not likely be back. I think I would have liked it here a few years ago. Now I just don't care to see girls overdressed at dive bars, I don't care to see cute d-bags struggling to stand up, I don't need too loud music. I don't like Sedwick's. Our server was nice, though. I will say that. She was pretty, nice, not catty, and seemed to not get frustrated with my super strong friends. So two stars for having good service but sucking nonetheless.

i've been to sedgwick's multiple times to watch illini games, but my most recent visit definitely warrants a review. we were on a bachelorette party trolley bar crawl and sedgweezy's was the designated illini bar for us to revel at since the bride and almost everyone else are proud u of i grads. it's no kams north, but do we really want to go back to those days? didn't think so. i stopped in a week before to ask if they could save us some seats and the bartender and manager said absolutely. when we arrived (and everyone raced to the bathrooms due to the large amounts of booze consumed on the trolley) i asked about the table and ordered a round of orange and blue shots. the bartender delievered both immediately and event put oskee-wow-wow next on the playlist. awesome detail sir!!! i really appreciated their help in making the bride remember her days on campus. i'll keep coming back for more illini fun.

One of my favorite things about Sedgwick's is that you can almost always find a seat or a table. It's just so dang big. Sometimes, for me nothing is worse than a smooshy bar scene. Another HUGE draw to the no-frills-in-a-good-way Sedgwick's is the 12AM complimentary food spread. Ho-leee-smokes. From pizza to nuggets (stay away form the fish ones - yikes) there is nothing like a free re-fuel session to keep you going. The prices are average and the music can be hit or miss, but Sedgwick's is SURELY one of my favorites. It's a staple.

I signed up for the polar plunge (yes, I know, I'm crazy) and the after party was held at Sedgwick's. I was quite surprised to show up an see an event was already going on. The bar was packed! We were lucky and got two seats at the bar and the bartender was extremely attentive despite being understaffed. The place was packed and she was the only one working that side of the bar. We put down a credit card for our tab and enjoyed some (pricey) beverages and some (hard to come by) appetizers. When it came time to leave, we paid her in cash and left. Imagine my surprise when I had a charge on my credit card. Thinking it was just a mistake, I called and talked to the manager who informed me that a meager tip was left and it was signed. Now I'm upset because it wasn't an accident (and we had tipped her pretty well--38% to be exact). He very begrudgingly refunded my credit card. I do appreciate managers who back their employees. I do not appreciate employees who charge me twice to pocket $40 as a tip.

This bar is ok, I guess. It serves alcohol & has big screens where you can watch games. It also has a pool table. But then again, there are plenty of bars in Chicago like that. Every time I've been there, I've had to scream at my companions because the music or the game is turned up WAAAAAAY too loud. Every time I've been there, I've had a crazy wait for a) menus, ii) our order, D) our food, & 12) our bill. Without any "sorry guys ... it's nuts in here." Maybe cuz half the time I've been here, it *hasn't* been nuts in there ... they're just slow. I have had one good time there when we just stood around & drank beers in the pool table area & once when the waitress cut off my friend who was eating too much bacon (but she could drink as many mimosas as she'd like --- no lie). But if I want a good time, I'll go up the street to Stanley's.

I have frequented this LP bar for several parties but recently watched the Illini game (BEAT Ohio State) on a Saturday afternoon here after other Illini bars were packed 2 hours before game time. I was impressed with the crowd, staff, and, surprisingly, the food. It was a great place to spend 4 hours cheering on Illinois!

I'm a fan of Sedgwick's under one of two conditions: A) I'm not staying long, or B) I'm already drunk. Sedgwick's has a great vibe to it, with a chill Old Town scene, pool tables, booths, and decently friendly staff. They have a free buffet on Friday and Saturday nights (hence, liking it when I'm already drunk), and they have drink specials that include cocktails, while most bars, if they have any specials at all, include only beer. They also have a relatively large menu if you decide to stop in for lunch or dinner, and the food by far beats standard bar nosh in terms of quality. The downside is that the service is way too slow once it gets late. Two bartenders are not enough for a bar of that size and popularity. Lesson learned, do not rely on the waitress and go to the bar yourself. Drink your one or two drinks and then move on to other neighborhood locales.

Compared to other bars, Sedwick's doesn't stand out in the good areas. The service is pretty bad, the TVs aren't very good for watching games, and it's pretty dirty. The few good things are the music, better than average bar food, and the tall tables in the middle of the bar are good for resting your beer on.

I went here and they only had one Stella's glass. What up with that? After downing about 10 of them I made a pretty weak attempt to steal said glass. The bouncer who apprehended me laughed so hard, and I sheepishly shrugged as I handed him back the glass and hailed a cab home.

i agree w/ Beth P. about the dave matthews cover haha i was able to spot my friends i was meeting here very easily...cause they were the only ones not wearing the traditional lincoln park uniform of striped button down shirts...anyway i had a delightful time here, watching the cardinals w/ a bunch of st louis fans...it was strange to be able to count on 1 hand the cubs fans, they had their own little table. but st louis won and we got free food after the game ended, like wings i think and something else good...they had some type of bucket o beer special. mostly i remember the free food buffet. but yeah all in all, run of the mill bar, nothing fabulous, nothing horrible.

A sports bar with a country twist. Sedgwick's is a great place to watch a Cards game, but I wasn't impressed otherwise. It had a huge crowd of baseball fans when I stopped by, but after the game cleared out, they were hosting an all-you-can-drink-a-thon complete with hoe down music and Charlotte's Web on the big screen. It could be more fun with a larger crowd.

I'm not a fan of this place. Everytime I've ever been here it's been ridiculously crowded. It's really hard to get a drink, let alone find a table. The food isn't that great either. It promotes itself as a cardinals bar, but I'm not too sure I really agree.

I will say this, if it was not for the fact that they are one of the only bars in the area that show english socccer, I would have not gone there. I have been there before for cubs viewing, but only because the people I was with chose to go, but other than that, I am glad to say that I have not made this place a regular haunt. The time was about 4pm in the afternoon and the female bartender that was working was, to put it kindly, was a horrible version of the worst girl you would meet from schaumburg! Yep, I said it, I called her a typical suburban girl. Catty, mean, and down right a bad server. This is the type of girl that needs to be sitting at a Starbuck's drinking her skinny latte and running up her cell phone bill so that daddy can take care of it. I heard her answer the phone and when she got off, she turned to her friends at the bar and began making fun of the person. Now I am sure that things like that happen all of the time, but when other customers are within ear shot, please be a little more respectful. Also, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT! If you are not a regular there, do not expect good service. I REPEAT! If you are not a regular there, do not expect good service. And this was explained to me by the GENERAL MANAGER! I would like to say that if you have a choice, please use it wisley and do not patronize this bar. There are hundreds more just like it in the area and those people probably would love to treat you the way you should be treated. In this economy, bars should be trying everything they can to creat new regulars, not run them to the guy down the block. I know that I am probably not the first person to have a bad experince here and I know that I am not the last, but I will say this, if you can go somewhere else, please do so!

Great drinks (and specials), great service, pool, and rocking juke box- pretty much all I need for a good time. I've only eaten there once or twice and I don't really remember what I got so I can't talk much about the food. Oh and its never packed, so great place if you're wearing those uncomfortable shoes. If you end up there on a night I am there, grin and bear it, because I will be manning the juke box and my friends tell me my music choice is questionable. (I think its great!)

I love ending up here for two reasons: free food and lots of seating. Im a huge mac & cheese fan, so the food bar is awesome! You probably dont want to go here if you're looking to continue a crazy night, but its great to play some pool and hang out with a fun group of friends. Very friendly place at all times of the day and night.

Not a bad place to watch sports and drink beer. They have a lot of TVs and it isn't usually crazy busy. Not a fan of the food - much better bar food options in the area.

Great place to watch sports. And while I wouldn't go here JUST for the food, it's pretty good. Much better than most football-and-beer spots. Plus the wait staff is much more pleasant than a lot of other bars, even for 11 AM basketball games...

Sedgwick's is a great place when you need the taste of a home cooked meal. The staff is friendly the food is great. Their drinks are really cheap which is always wonderful! I think the meat loaf here is great "it's just like mom's"

I have been to Sedgwick's a handful of times and would ordinarily give them 3 stars. But the last time I was there, we had horrendous, horrendous service. Yes it was busy I will admit that. But we had ordered 3 burgers, an order of nachos, and a salad almost 2 hours earlier and still had no food. That order shouldn't take 2 hours, even when busy. Not to mention that the tables around us that had arrived a full hour after us were done eating. So when we politely ask the waitress when our food is expected, she does not apologize. She just states "Oh, I don't know. Everyone put their orders in at the same time." Well, how does a table that put their order in LITERALLY an hour after us get their food first, eat it all, and have been sitting there plate-free for 20 minutes while we're starving? I have waitressed... I know what happened. She got busy and forgot to put our order in. Okay, it happens. Duh, servers are people not robots... mistakes get made. I've been there, I can handle mistakes. But please apologize. At any rate, we didn't call her out on her pathetic excuse but just asked her (politely) to please check on our order. She promises to do so and then avoids our table for the next 30 minutes, despite our empty beer mugs. She failed to do so much as say "I'm sorry" and then BLATANTLY ignores us. That is inexcusable. After another 30 minutes (yes, we're up to nearly 2.5 hours after ordering a few burgers, nachos, and a salad-- nothing terribly complicated), we finally asked her to cancel our food order & for our check. At that point, she agrees to cancelling the order but does inform us that "some" of our food is actually ready now. I have never in 30 years cancelled my food in a restaurant before, but the service was appalling, we were starving, and now we couldn't even get a beer. Very bad. Other than that, I guess Sedgwick's is fine. I've never had any complaints any other time I've been there, but it's not a place I've ever been excited about either. Now it's just ruined for me.

Luckily, it's right next door to our condo! Great location if you're coming from North Beach and don't want to hit up castaway's. The food here is really good (I love Raul's Super Nachos), and the place is big enough to hold a decent sized crowd. They also have a pool table, darts, and a golden tee live machine.

I cannot believe that I've only stopped by this bar once before to pick up sports paraphenalia for my Chicago Sport N Social Team. Definitely my loss since last night I saw what a great option it made for a Saturday night bday bash. The place is large enough so I didn't have to deal with that all too familiar feeling of claustrophobial. They've got pool tables on the right, and tons of seating throughout. Loved the music, but the best part was when the clock struck midnight and they brought out a free buffet of wings, pizza, meatballs and more!

THis is a really cool place with a fun outdoor patio! They've always got a fun special going on, like their free buffet on the weekends and their monday night trivia! They even have a cigar bar and a private room downstairs that you can rent out! Definitely a good time

Great place to watch Cardinal's games in Chi-town! The food is pretty good and they have some great drink specials along w/ free appetizers on Friday's between 5:30 and 7:30.

As a HUGE cardinals fan, I LOVE this bar. During baseball season, this place is packed with die-hard cardinal fans. If you are a cubs fan, please refrain from going to this bar. We don't want your kind. Good food, service, and laid back atmosphere.
