Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

This place is so underrated because I'm pretty sure it's one of the best tasting pizzas you will find in Chicago! I honestly can't even vouch for the toppings because their plain cheese pizza is a thing of beauty and it's all we ever get. I know it sounds boring/plain, but every single component is so delicious that it's perfect - and if it ain't broke.. The Margherita is good too, but not as good as the plain cheese. They have a brick oven and the pizza is kind of a hybrid NY/old Italian style pizza. It's on the thin side and served in large trinagular slices, so it's best to eat it at the restaurant, bubbly and delicious right out of the brick oven. The owners are super friendly and the beers on tap are delish. Pitcher of Lagunitas IPA, large cheese, no wait, under $30 - yes please! See you tonight Pizzeria Serio, save us some bar seats and keep doing what you're doing please :)

Definitely good brick oven, thin crust pizza. I'm not from chicago so deep dish is not my thing. I am always in search of thin crust pizza dives. The marg pizza with canadian bacon is awesome! They also have deals where you can get a pitcher of beer and a large pizza for $20 -depends on the beer you get.

This review is solely based on customer service, not the food. Ordered a pizza for delivery and had to wait over an hour and a half before the pie was delivered. When I called to ask about the status of my order after an hour and 15 minutes the person on the phone was not accommodating or sympathetic. With so many pizza options in Chicago I will be giving my business to a friendlier establishment going forward.

We held my son's first birthday here and it was such a great experience. Scott was so nice to work with and very accommodating. The staff was totally on top of everything. The food was wonderful. We have been getting calls from our guests about the food and great set-up all week since we had the party. I cannot say enough good things.

So I had high expectations for Pizzeria Serio based on the Yelp reviews... I ordered delivery and got the standard margarita pizza - with tax, tip and delivery it ended up being just over $20. So $20 for a cheese pizza and great reviews - I have really high expectations. It doesn't even look appetizing when I open the pizza box - but I dig in - and it is okay at best. I would never order again - I might it give it one more shot eating at the restaurant (rather than delivery). For Thin Crust Delivery - Pat's Pizza (On Lincoln avenue) regins supreme.

I came here for my birthday after reading reviews off yelp, and boy were the reviews on point!! Great food, love the atmosphere and they did a good job taking care of us as a large (and loud) group! I will definitely be back!!

Great brick oven pizza place that is similar to Coalfire. Love the appitizers and pizza. It's right down the street from me and I'm a hard guy to please in the pizza catagory. The crust is outstanding and the sauce isn't overly sweet. Overall atmosphere is solid with some TV's and decent beers on tap. Perfect week night date spot.

  • Kristin R.

Loooove the margherita pizza!! Decent draft list when you dine-in, too!

  • D K.

Got some groupons for here and really loved the pizza. Margerita is very good. Tried a few salads as well and liked them. Good weekly specials post groupon.

  • Bobby M.

Damn! This place is great! I am more of a deep dish person, but this pizza is awesome. Nice thin crust and clearly homemade sauce. Ingredients are fresh and delicious. Crust has a perfect coal oven char that is the perfect end to a slice. I have ordered here 3 times, and will enthusiastically continue!

I've eaten here a few times and never been impressed nor disappointed. Typical thin crust pizza cooked over a flame with decent ingredients to top it - good, but nothing to rave about. Staff is always friendly and they have a decent beer list. If you're in the neighborhood and looking for pizza, it's worth checking out.

I was looking for a good margherita pizza and was really hungry after a day of moving boxes. I went to Grubhub for delivery and found this place. Since I felt like I could eat an elephant, I ordered an appetizer flatbread (goat cheese and pesto) $6 and the Serios Classic Margherita 11 inch (small pizza) $12. Boy, was I surprised because the flatbread was the size of my pizza so I literally had 2 pizzas that I had to eat. And I did eat every last bite because it was so delicious. Pizzeria Serio knows how to do thin crust right because it definitely complimented the toppings (so fresh) very well. I can't wait to order from here again.

  • Joseph A.

I NEVER give 5 stars, but these guys are close! Won't describe it as margherita type as I find those tasteless and insipid, but these pies are full-flavored - even the crust is tasty with a really inviting chew; savory and a wonderful texture. The quality and care is obvious. Never ate there - so far only delivery.

  • Susan W.

I don't usually like pizza. I'm the one who always object having pizza for dinner in my family. But ever since we discovered Pizzeria Serio, I don't mind having pizza anymore. I actually love the pizza here. It's the best I've ever had!!! The crust is light and crispy. The sauce is just enough. It's never greasy or overdo on toppings. Close to the pizza I had in Italy! The spinach salad is heaven. Its simplicity makes it perfect. I also like their beer selection very much. The only downside is all the appetizers are very bready kind of things. So I never order their appetizers.

Great newer place but nothing crazy special. I've been here twice now and I will say that the service is great/friendly and the food "pretty good" but nothing to rush to try. Pizza is thin crust but not cracker thin, but somehow they get it to be really crispy--which I haven't noticed a lot of other thin crust pizza places doing in Chicago. They are light on the sauce and cheese but generous on the toppings. Only one size - 14 inch which can easily feed three people (or three women ha). They have a nice wine list and really reasonable prices for the quality of the wine. I had the Vitiano Rosso -- don't be fooled by the cheap price, this wine is amazing AND drinks like water, so be careful! :) Oh and if you have allergies like I do, they are super accommodating--which if you read any of my reviews, I love :) This place is a good summer place to grab some pizza with friends on a Saturday night without busting the bank account or having the hassle of going downtown.

I used to like this place but poor customer service will make a mediocre pizza taste like rubber!

  • Katherine H.

Great food, great customer service! I ordered on Grubhub a few times. Pizza is hot and delivered quickly. I order often, and have had maybe two instances of pizza not arriving hot enough. I let the restaurant know, they apologized, fixed it, grat'ed us a pizza, and called to check in on us.

  • Kylie M.

Amazing thin crust pizza! All the specialty pizzas are delicious, but the spinach is my favorite. The ingredients are fresh and the crust is crisp, chewy and flavorful. Everything you want in thin crust!

    (5)
  • Nick M.

A pizzeria in Chicago that doesn't serve deep dish, heavens!! Well, surprise!!! Most of the people I know actually prefer thin. Deep is just too much food. Not really much to say about Pizzeria Serio, they know what they are doing. Good sauce (FYI -a tad sweet for you people that don't care for it) Good dough, thin Nice crust Fresh ingredients (recommend going for the the fresh mozzarella) Spinach salad was fresh with a really great vinaigrette Staff is kind of on the young side and were goofing off more then one occasion but it was really slow that night. One dropped the f-bomb and I looked over, he mouthed sorry and I nodded. Scary, when the thought of myself being the adult-like person in the room.

  • Jason W.

I was disappointed after reading all of the good reviews here. The crust was great, but there was almost no cheese on my pizza and very little toppings. $2.50 for sausage, and you get three little tiny pieces on a 1/8 pizza slice? There were a couple pieces that barely had any cheese on it. May give them a 2nd shot, but not sure at this point.

  • Jennifer T.

Outstanding pizza and great service. We ordered three different pizzas and they all were amazing. Goat cheese appetizer and cinnamon sticks were out of this world as well. It is cozy in the back room by the brick oven. We had a great waitress who went out of her way to make sure we were happy. This is thin crust and the actual crust is amazing. There is an upstairs party room that has a great view - plan on using that soon for a larger group of folks. We will be ordering take out from here from now on. Just hope they come up with a gluten-free crust soon like Chicago Pizza has. Glad to have found this gem.

Amazing pizza and the meatballs are to die for. Great staff, fast, delicious. This is a MUST try.

Last night, I recommended Pizzeria Serio as my current favorite flat crust pizza place. The fact that it's in my 'hood doesn't hurt, but this place is worth a ride on the Belmont Bus. With thin crust pizza, it's (naturally) all about the crust. Pizzeria Serio has a brick oven in the back (open to the seating area so you can watch). The crust thus attains that delicate crispy/chewy combination. One large pizza is the perfect size for two people. Like most pizza places, they have a list pizza topping combinations they make but also let you customize. This is perfect for groups with picky eaters. I've never had trouble getting a table and service has always been fantastic - this only increases the likelihood that I will pop in unplanned on days when I don't want to cook. Also, it's right by Scooter's Frozen Custard - a complete meal is right at hand.

LOVE this place! My absolute favorite pizza in the city. Fast delivery and almost never a wait to dine in. Sub fresh mozzarella and you won't regret it. Great beer selection. Lots of families come here so it can get a little noisy at times if you dine in.

Great spot for brick oven pizza. I've been 3 times now and have been pleasantly surprised each time I've gone with the flavors of the food. The pizza has been PERFECTLY cooked each time, creating that enviable combo of crispier exterior crust with a nice, chewy middle. I highly recommend the goat cheese and the mini calzone appetizers, although the latter is liable to put you in a food coma for a while. The Italian salad is just ok. The space is pretty cool. Exposed brick and large front windows looking out on to Belmont. The exposed kitchen with the brick oven is all the way in the back. My only complaint is related to the parents of the brat kids that frequent this place. And I'm not talking about the well behaved ones. I'm talking about the parents who treat the restaurant like their own dining room, allowing their snot nosed kid to roll around on the restaurant floor and cry for minutes. 5 minutes of dirty looks did nothing to inspire discipline from the parents. I only mention it because it has happened twice now. Bottom Line: I will be back.

This place knocked my socks off with the freshness of its salads. They were crisp and not drowning in dressings and all the ingredients were really great! We had a half and half pizza, with veggies on one side and a meat-fest on the other and the pizza was more than enough for two people. The pizza is a thinner crust but not quite as thin as a Roman style. It was delicious though I do secretly wish some end pieces weren't burnt black. Plenty of seats on a busy night and though the pizzas take a while to bake, there's great appetizer options and t.v.s to occupy your time. Highly recommended!

  • Kate R.

EXCELLENT thin crust pizza! Although Chicago is known for it's deep dish, sometimes I would rather choose a thinner variety. Pizzeria Serio is the best I've found in the city. I had it for the first time a few nights ago and I left feeling stuffed because I couldn't say no to a third slice. My mom and I split a house salad (also great) and a pizza. We had leftovers, too. The pizza comes in one size only, but it is plenty for 2-3 people to share. One of the owners was there and he was very friendly, too. I will definitely bring friends and other family members to this restaurant and I will recommend it to anyone looking for great pizza in the city.

  • Cassie C.

I would have given this place 5 stars except the service wasn't the greatest. Con: Our server throughout the entire meal never once came over to refill our pop, or even ask if we would like another one. Pro: The food was excellent. We had the mini calzones that comes with 4, enough for two, which were delicious! Wood burning pizza is just great and the meat lovers one we tried was filled with just the right amount of meat. The bill for 2 was about $30 which was also reasonable and their was also no wait which was nice. There is a bar area with a couple of televisions.

GREAT pizza, good atmosphere, good prices. Would be a good place to bring kids (there were some families in here on a Friday night) and plenty of space where it wasn't crowded. They take reservations for 6 or more but we didn't have one with 8 at 7 on a Friday and were fine. The pizza is thinner and most don't have a lot of sauce- Italy-esque.

I only went because of a groupon, and i probably won't go back. It was pretty overpriced for what we got (a large, super thin margherita pizza with pepperoni... yeah, weird.) and the pints of beer were pretty pricy too (it was a saturday night, though). What I ate was alright, but just, you know, not great. With all the awesome pizza places around, I would definitely skip this one. Go two blocks south and head to Art of Pizza instead.

After many times of passing this place back and forth on Belmont and saying "oh that place, I have to go to that place", I finally went here yesterday on a Groupon (thank you Groupon sharing friend). The pros were certainly pros, good brick oven margarita pizza and a decent beer selection (you have little sumptin sumptin for me and I'm a happy gal). So typically if you have good beer and good pizza all is well in the world. Right? Well almost. Now I like kids, I really do. I smile at them at the store, will laugh with them on public, will wave at them if staring, will say hi if they say hi--I think you get the point. However at a restaurant that is clearly also a bar they should not be allowed to run crazy or to let out those ear piercing shrieks that kids often do. Granted I know the neighborhood is stroller central but still, make your kid sit down and use the manners they should be developing right about now. It creates a situation that's unpleasant for the people that don't have kids but then also creates an even worse situation because those non kid people are glaring the people who have kids hoping they make them behave. I found myself doing it and not even meaning to. So yeah, beware. I also wonder if the place is slightly short staffed. Our server was not only the bartender (we sat at the bar), but carryout gal, the server for the rest of the restaurant, and I think she was also bussing tables. Not really a big deal if there's one of two people in the place, but when there are maybe 2-3 families, a few other occupied tables, and 3-4 people at the bar, and you're having to get together carry out orders also; you can't provide the service you're expected to get if there was one or two more people around. When overworked and rushed the greetings start to lack, the attentiveness starts to drift, etc--not her fault, just an observation. I'm also sure the toddler she had to dodge in the middle of the restaurant while carrying glasses and beer didn't help either. Would I go back--yes, but if I walked in and saw a swarm of kids I'd maybe have to reconsider staying

I found this place on Groupon and went there. The groupon that I got was saying that dine-in only but I thought I can pay the tip and take it to go since I don`t have a time to sit there. So thats why I asked them to pay included tip so I can take it because I had to go right away I didn`t have time. The owner was there. He said that they put the groupon for people who wants to come drink & get pizza. I am 20 years old and I can`t legally drink. After we talked for awhile he said that I can use it. I got a pizza + I paid for tip + I got a drink. In the end, he made more money because I left extra tip for him. But I really didn`t like this behavior to me, because it get me feeling of he wants to make money more than making me happy. Until that time I was encouraging everybody to go there. I always liked their pizza`s.But since than I`m not recommending it because I don`t feel well with this place anymore. I hope from now on when they put their groupon they mention 21+ and appreciated with a drink or two. The way you treat your customer is always more important than quality of your food, thats what I believe. Thats why I`ll keep going to the pizza place that I keep getting wrong pizza but with a smiley.

Total hidden gem here! Their pizza is totally fresh brick oven pizza. It's thin crust so you can eat a few pieces before you're full. It's just good. There's nothing else to say. Rumor is they have a pretty good special for Bears games too... a pizza buffet! Who doesn't love that?

  • Mel G.

Dude yummy! Fantastic thin crust pizza. The toppings were super fresh (green bell peppers and onions). The green peppers especially - bright green and perfectly crispy. The Italian sausage was also delightful with that nice kick of flavor but didn't over-power the other ingredients. Would maybe have liked a touch more of sauce but we had four toppings so that's kinda expected. The crust is crispy and delightful. Overall, just a solid balance of flavors and textures. Oh, I don't do ratings based on service, but the waitress did suck. Rude. Barely spoke to us.

Pizzeria Serio is a great location for thin crust wood oven pizza in Lakeview. The restaurant is lofted with both booths and tables surrounding a small bar in the middle of the place. There is an upstairs room that they use for large groups or parties. The service is pretty good with a wait staff that knows the menu well and makes good recommendations on their pizza. The pizza is the star of the show here - the crust is thin and light - certainly the opposite of the traditional Chicago thick crust deep dish pizza. You can eat three or four pieces and not feel like a slob here - which is always nice... The sauce is good - not too sweet and not too acidic from the tomatoes. They have a variety of pizza's or you can create your own. The appetizers are OK - the caprese salad is a good option as they are generous with the mozzarella on the tomatoes. The beer list is good and seasonal - which is nice to see. Plenty of options for a good brew to accompany your pizza. Check this place out for a reasonably priced thin crust pizza in Lakeview.

Headline: nice look, amazing pizza and good service, what's up with the menu? Overall a mixed bag. Let's start with the good: I love the look of the place--nice bar setting, exposed brick, high ceilings, upstairs area as well, you get to see them cook the pizza in the brick oven in the back--and delicious pizza it is! Unfortunately, they were out of almost everything on the menu. It's a pretty simple menu to start: a few appetizers, salads, then pizzas and calzones. They were out of half the appetizers, so we couldn't get spinach and artichoke dip (doh!), and then at the end of the meal they had no more deserts left! We were told that all they had was cheesecake, then we had to be informed that they were even out of that! Again, the service and food was good, but not a perfect experience. If they had the appetizer and dessert we wanted, four stars for sure.

I can't gush enough. Got my Groupon. Took an out of towner, my 60 year old mother and my twin toddlers who are well behaved, but messy. Everything was yummy yummy. Good wine. Good appetizer-stuffed goat cheese veggies. Margherita Pizza was basily and had great sauce. I want to take a bath in the Italian Salad. The wait staff accomodated us moving to a table (bet most people don't know two high chairs can't fit at booth table...) and our odd request for a side of black olives for my picky son. It was kid central which made me feel good since it is a swanky looking place. The waitress said "Kids and family before 6, couples after 7." Didn't get a sigh or a eye roll for the Groupon. I liked it so much, I made my husband get it for take out the next night!

A nice little surprise! Passed this place walking along Belmont and decided to give it a try. One of the owners seated us and recommended a pizza that turned out to be delicious. It's a cross between New York and Neapolitan...thin but chewy with a sweet red sauce. We also tried the garlic twists, which were buttery and well seasoned. We were really happy we stopped in, and we're definitely planning to go back.

One of the best tasting pizza shops in the city. I am a pizza snob and very picky. I only like pizza made in the Neapolitan style. That means in a wood fired brick oven. Very light and fresh. Not heavy and greasy like most pizza is. The food is excellent and the place itself is very clean and a good environment. They have a great bar and many TV's for games. The staff is excellent. Especially Sarah. I go every week and the place always delivers outstanding experiences. The owner is very friendly and usually there as well. Over all one of the best restaurants anywhere.

While I probably did myself a disservice by not ordering a pizza, I still must say that I was very dissatisfied with my meal here. My g/f and I stopped by when we were in the area to just get a bite to eat. I got the Italian sub and she got the lasagna, and we both were fairly disappointed with what was put in front of us. The sub was hardly overflowing with meat or cheese, only came with a few pieces of lettuce, and if they actually put Italian dressing or whatever on I didn't get a hint of it. And seriously, would it be hard for them to offer onions or peppers on that?! I just assumed it'd come standard, guess not. The lasagna had no character to it at all. It is advertised as being meatless which worked well since my g/f is a vegetarian... unfortunately there wasn't anything else to it either. Noodles, sauce, and just a little cheese makes for very dull lasagna. I understand that they are a pizza place, but come on, how difficult is it to offer a few options/amenities for your other food options when you're charging $8 for a sub that is inferior to Subway and $9 for some very plain lasagna?! If you go here stick to the pizza, because I was not impressed by anything else.

An inviting environment. Lots of choices in the beer department! Attentive, but non-intrusive service. I went on a Sunday evening, so it wasn't crowded...which is okay by me. And the parking was easy and close. No street meters in the neighborhood. Oh, and the pizza was good, too! They know their brick ovens!

Some of my favorite pizza I've had in Chicago. I am a huge thin crust fan, and this pizza is made in a stone oven, so the crust is really thin and crispy = delicious. The ingredients are really fresh and they have some great specialty pizzas. We couldn't decide which one to get, but you can easily do half and half specialty pizzas and it doesn't cost additional money which is not the norm! The only downfall that knocked it down a star was we had bought the LivingSocial coupon and went in the same day... and our waitress just very rudely said "that starts tomorrow" without even apologizing or letting it slide. We were the ONLY people in there - come on.

I ordered the marguerite con carne w/ pepperoni for delivery on Saturday night. Pizza came quickly and was delicious. Best thin crust I've had in Chicago so far. I'm from NY and haven't found any place I like until now. Thank you Pizzeria Serio!

Serio-sly good! Its the closest thing to NYC pizza Ive had in all of my Chicago living years. Its thin, crispy, well done, just the way I like it. Warning: if youre a fan of soggy napolitano pizza like Spacca Napoli, or the butter crust tiny squares of Giordanos, then dont bother coming. This place is a whole different ball game-a Yankees game, not a Cubs game. I do have one minor complaint though, and I mostly blame myself. Im not a huge fan of meat on pizza and I got the Diavolo. The salami left a lingering meaty taste even after picking it off that I didnt enjoy, but I shouldve ordered it without. Other then that its just a hot pie, and I liked it. We also got the sausage and peppers which was tasty, but again, too meaty for my taste buds. I will be back many many times to get plain cheese or veggie pies! P.S. The ceasar salad is very good too and big enough for a meal for one person!

I was here recently for a group event - while the celebrities were waltzing down the Red Carpet at the Oscars and likely tucking their abs in, we feasted on awesome thin crust pizzas in our shabby attires and shared our views on their fashion excesses! Pizzeria Serio is a great place to host an event - the owner and bartender did more than their fair share to up the energy of a rather subdued crowd in addition to serving up a constant supply of good specialty thin crusts - loved the veggie, liked the cheese and spinach, but not as much. The multiple large screen TVs and a comfortably large, well spread out area makes it an ideal spot to get a bunch of people together, regardless of the ocassion. Loved the decor, the location and the general vibes of the place - clean, chic, very River North, a taste of NY in the best part of Chicago. A welcome addition to the Lakeview area, Pizzeria Serio is a fun spot in the hood.

Pizzeria Serio is a hybrid of great NYC/Neapolitan pizza. The staff was great, friendly & not overbearing. Overall this spot is very accommodating to your every need. The average specialty pizza will run $18 and it's worth every penny. If your from the NYC tri-state area this is a little slice of home!

Excellent pizza and atmosphere. I'm dropping it to four stars only because the service was very slow. We went on a Friday night and between their recent Groupon and it being Friday, it was slow. However, it was well worth the wait for our pepperoni and artichoke heart (ok, weird, I know) pizza. They have one size and it's plenty for two - could be three if you're light eaters. We started with the stuffed goat cheese mushroom plate. Decent price and pretty tasty. Also, the manager realized how slow it was and offered us a free round of drinks. We'll go back for sure, maybe this time on a slower night.

The important stuff: The pizza rocks. Great crust. Fresh mozzarella. Just the right amount of a very flavorful tomato sauce. Great selection of beer. Hosted an event in their "party room" on the 2nd floor. Everything was great. Great space, staff was super friendly and helpful, and their owner was great to work with. If you're in the area you should be eating there. If you're not make a trip. Your gut will be happy.

If you like BURNT pizza, you'll love this place! Every time we've been there (3 times) it has always been burnt on bottom and edges. After telling us "that's how it's done in a brick oven" they redid it and it was still charred. I've had plenty brick oven pizzas and that's BS! Who wants they flavor of burned and ash on a pizza??? Really!!?? No thanks. There are PLENTY of pizzerias in town, I don't need that crap!

A solid pizza place that won't disappoint. Used a Groupon to get $10 for $20. Above average micro-brew selection. Split a Calzone, Pizza, and garlic Twists with group. Good flavor to the crust on all three. All were cooked just right. Garlic Twists had good flavor. Just simply twisted bread with seasoning and oils. Can't see myself not getting these next time and they're cheap at $4. Calzone was my favorite part of the meal. It's enormous and easily feeds two. Cheese and ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Diavolo was a spicy pie. Hot sopressata was great and pepperoncinis, and onions added good flavor. it had a little more cheese than most brick oven, Neapolitanish pizzas, but it wasn't greasy or too much.

Went here recently - has nice decor and a large bar, plus a cool pizza oven right at the back. Pizzeria Serio is a very casual place and quite laid back. But I'm sure you want to hear about the pizza rather than the decor, right? :) We had the Margherita con Carne (with Canadian Bacon). The pizza is quite large, around 15" and has a really thin crust - not as soggy as New York style, but certainly foldable and moldable. Between the two of us, it was just the right amount of pizza. The sauce was good - not too acidic, not too overpowering and slightly sweet. But for a $17 pizza there was not enough topping - it could have used three times the bacon to get the balance right. Will go again, and order with double bacon I guess!

Is this a sin for a Chicagoan? But i'm going to go ahead and say it.. My favorite pizza in Chicago. brick oven pizza at its best! Ask for it well done to make it crispy perfection! Low key and fantastic place. We are even have my boyfriend's bday party here in a week.

We really liked the place. They take their pizza very seriously - you can taste it. The house wine was pretty good, too. Note: big portions - we were very full after the appetizer, salad, and half of the pizza, but the chocolate sundae was impressively hard to refuse - soooo good that we finished all of it. Overall, great quality, great value, and great service! I would recommend this place to anyone. 4.5 stars. The only thing is that the window in the front was open, hence weak air conditioner. Although this was NOT an issue at all.

Went here yesterday with a Groupon and was delightfully surprised. Brick oven pizza feels like an oddity in the land of deep dish so I was understandably skeptical of it's quality to begin with. I was not let down, the staff was friendly and efficient. We saw them just enough to get everything we needed right when we needed it but not too much to the point of annoying. The beer selection was exactly what it should be, a variety of local, standard domestics and microbrews on the light to medium color. Perfect for pizza. The pizza it's-self was solid, brick oven thin crust, cut into triangles the way it should be. A rich tomato flavor and a proper crust that was not too doughy but was both crunchy and chewy. I would prefer a little crunchier but that is purely a personal preference. A 15" pizza looks daunting when placed in front of you but winds up being exactly enough for two people. We wound up with one slice remaining which I took home and reheated to delicious success, which in my eyes is the true test of any pizzeria. Lastly there is the atmosphere. It's a fair compromise of sports bar and fancy dining that wouldn't disappoint on a casual date or going out to watch the game with your buddies. If anything It could be a tiny bit more fancy but it's not hurting in either way. I just finished my reheated slice and now I want to go back for another. Well done Pizzeria Serio.

Very good pizza. I've been here multiple times now, and it hasn't disappointed me. It's good and fresh, and you can tell that the ingredients are superior to other places. I enjoy that. Also, you can't go wrong with pizza-well you can, but this place doesn't, which is good. I highly recommend the Diavolo pizza, which I liked a lot. I also have enjoyed the Spinach pizza and am looking forward to the ultimate cheese pizza, because I love cheese! This is good pizza. The thin crust is actually thin and crispy, not at all soggy underneath the ingredients. Atmosphere is nice as well-everyone that works there is very friendly, as is the owner. Also, the exposed brick is awesome and parking on this part of Belmont is not terrible. I will continue to go back and it will continue to be delicious.

This place is right down the street from me, so I've been to it several times now. I've been here with my boyfriend, a girlfriend, family, and I've been here for a birthday party in the large upstairs area. Every visit here has been consistently good. The pizza is cooked in an open kitchen where you can see them tossing pizza dough and throwing it into the brick oven. The crust comes out soft on the inside and crispy on the outside with just the right amount of thickness. There is a good variety of pizzas to choose from or you can create your own. I really enjoy the Spinach, Sausage and Peppas, and Margarita con Carne pizzas. I also highly recommend the mini calzones appetizer....very scrumptious! The atmosphere is casual with a mix of 20 somethings and families. I've never had to wait long for a table and the service is always very friendly. It is also a very reasonably priced restaurant. All of the pizzas average about $16 and is more than enough for 2 people. They also have great weekly specials. This place is a great addition to the neighborhood and I will continue to come back here often!

Yummm! Tried this place for the first time and would happily go back for more! They do not take reservations but our party of 2 showed up on a Friday night at 7 and had no problem being seated quickly. Wine list was great although I really only checked out the whites. We ordered the caprese salad for an appetizer - so fresh and tasty. Really, you must try it. We went with a split pizza - half margherita and half veggie. I think the margherita was tastier, tho the veggie was my choice - and still good. The pizza was perfectly thin but not too crispy and crackery (which I don't like). The cheese on the margherita was scrumptious. The manager/host or whatever he was was excellent and very accomodating when we decided to move to the front after originally being seated in the back. Only complaint is that our waiter was clearly unaware of just about everything and we had to call him over after about 10 minutes of waiting for service. He seemed a little out of it the whole time, kind of bizarre. But I'd say the food and the other staff made up for his slacking. Good pizza, nice restaurant, i def recommend it.

After leaving an ultracrowded Oktoberfest Chicago, our group decided to grab a real meal at this new brickhouse oven venue. We ordered the Meat Your Heart Out and the Eat Your Veggies Pizzas - that was plenty and then some for our group of 5. Unlike other yelp reviews, the pizza absolutely DOES NOT remind me of genuine NY style pizza - i went to a little hole-in-the-wall in Soho, and that was real NY pizza - gooey cheese with a crisp flat crust. Here at Pizzeria Sero, the bread was thicker and dry, the slices are not NY style huge, and the flavors were nothing special, if not a bit too overspiced with basil and oregano. I had to pour on the parmesan cheese to offset the weird earthy flavor. Why would anyone charge $16-18 per pizza for THIS. I don't know, maybe their ability to make good pizza will improve with time - they will have a hard time competing with Pizza Kings like Piece, Lous, and Ginos. I do have give them 4 stars for the Mini Calzones - those were yummy for those that love ricotta cheese. But for 7 bucks can't they give more than 4 pieces? Also give them props for a pretty good beer selection - love how they offered the Great Lakes Brewing Porter.

Woodfired pizza has to be my favorite form of pizza - and this place did not disappoint. We came here with a Living Social on a Wed. night and it was pretty quiet, very nice for a relaxing dinner on a cold night. We ordered the Diavolo and the Ultimate Cheese (at which point our server pointed out that that's a lot of food for the two of us) - that's ok I wanted leftovers for dinner the next night getting out of cooking 2 nights in a row, bonus! Both our pizzas were amazing! Everything was very fresh with high quality ingredients, including the parmesan cheese in the shakers - always a mark of a quality pizza place. We had enough for 2 dinners and lunch to bring to work - awesome!

Absolutely wonderful! We went here yesterday for lunch to use a Groupon, and although street parking is virtually nonexistent, the food and service was worth the six trips around the block to find a space. As soon as we arrived we were promptly greeted and told to take a seat wherever we would like. The waitress was prompt with taking our drink and food orders, and never let our glasses stay empty for long. At one point even, someone we had not even seen before asked if I would like another Diet Coke. They definitely pay attention at this place. As an appetizer we ordered the Garlic Twists, which were amazing. For our pizza, we chose the Meat Your Heart Out. The pizza came out promptly after we were finished with the appetizer, and was perfectly baked. Pizzeria Serio is a must try and we will definitely be going back.

Bought a Groupon for this place. With me, more is more, so I was very pleased with the Caesar salad chock full of Parmesan and the Margherita pizza with abundant basil. My husband and I loved the Margherita -- so much that we polished off the entire pizza. The extremely thin crust was refreshing after eating lots of deep dish. My only complaint is the place was pretty loud and tightly packed (on a Friday night). I had to practically yell to speak with our server, and we were seated at a table squeezed between two others. It felt like the couples on either side of us were watching us eat and listening to our conversation (my husband said one girl actually "looked at us with judgment in her eyes" when she saw that we had eaten a whole pizza, hahaha.)

This is my second review and with that a bit of improvement in my rating. Our first experience at Pizzerio Serio was certainly below average. This time, I would put it as a solid experience, but with not a lot of wow factor. For starters we had the goat cheese appetizer. It arrived promptly and actually was the hilight for me. Its red sauce was very tangy, tasty and when combined with the goat cheese, created a wonderful, creamy sauce to dip the freshly prepared bread wedges into. They serve thin bread wedges made out of the same dough as the pizza. I liked this. For goat cheese app lovers, I recommend it. We ordered a standard pizza, sausage and mushroom. It came hot and ready to go. Ingredients tasted fresh, and there was enough of everything on it. Overall, a tasty, well prepared pie. But, in the end, nothing extraordinary, but I suspect that is partially due to the rather basic selection we made. However much better than our first experience with one of the specialty pizzas, which my review can attest to. They have since acquired their liquor license, so I had a Belgian style bottle that was very good. Their beer selection shows a little creativity, and, as a beer lover, I would love to see them really up the ante on this. That alone would bring me back again. The room is a pleasant space, with bar in front, and tables in back. Its a warm rustic impression, but is lacking decor. A few paintings, object d'art, even some small touches on the tables like unique flower vases or candles would go a long way in adding some sophistication to the otherwise sparse environment. Overall, a solid dining experience, so three stars it is. With an even bigger, more exotic tap list, and some touches of creativity on the interior, this place would really stand out to me. Salud!

Had the margherita pizza, split with the sausage and pepper. Sausage was nice and crumbly; crust pleasantly chewy. Pizzas are described as being large enough for two, which makes Serio a relatively inexpensive option for thin crust fans. Service was personal and friendly, unlike some joints that will drop the bill on your table as soon as you pick up the last slice. Half Acre is the only option for beer snobs, but good that they offer that--it's local and it's good, and $15 for the pitcher is OK.

I'm so happy this place opened up right down the street. I have never had a bad experience here, ever. The service is excellent. My boyfriend and I went in there very close to closing and rather than turn us away, the owner whipped up a free pizza for us to take to go. There's no better service than that. Every pizza I've tried there (which is probably all but 2) has been excellent. It's the perfect thickness, amount of cheese and toppings and texture. Now that it's warming up outside, I look forward to sitting near the open windows in the front. Great blend of families and friends and seating options. And they deliver to boot!

Do yourself a favor and get a calzone!!! I've had the pizza once or twice and it was pretty good, but they must have some sort of secret ingredient for the calzones because they are one of the best things I have ever eaten. Luckily, we live right down the street. Cute place too, can't say much about the service because we almost always have taken the pizza back home.

Went there because of the Groupon and my love for pizza. Had a great, great experience! It was quiet and not crowded in the least bit. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. She made some great recommendations. We had the stuffed veggies for and appetizer. They came out steaming hot and the goat cheese was delicious. The Diavolo pizza is wonderful if you are a meat eater (which usually I am not, but I was eating with my carnivorous boyfriend). It hot the spot perfectly. Definitely going to be visiting again! The only reason I took it down to 4 stars was the prices for pizzas seemed a tad high (not bad at all though). Beer was priced comparably to other places nearby.

We had a Groupon and decided to give this place a try. The ambiance was nice, it had the typical downtown pizzeria feel to it. We were seated with out wait on Wednesday night around 6pm. We ordered a pair of the brick oven pizzas. One as their white pizza and the other as their "sausage & peppas". The white pizza was good, but I don't usually get a white pizza. The ingredients did seem fresh. The sausage pizza could've used a few more peppers and sausage. After eating the two pizzas, we regretted not getting an appitizer. We then decided to get a desert. We had the sinnasticks. The biggest sin was they tasted like soemthing from Dommino's. The dough was not sweetened at all. The little sugar that was on top with the cinnamon was not enough to make this a desert, in my opinion. Overall it was a good experience. If I went back I would probably just order the larger pizzas and be done.

I live right around the block from this place, and I was waiting to write my review until they settled in... I must say that I am impressed. I'm not a New Yorker, but I'm from Detroit where, surprisingly, there is a lot of good thin pizza. When I got to Chicago a couple years ago, I thought I would be able to find something similar....something thin at least! However, it's pretty hard to find a good NY piece in the chi... The pizza here is truly great - singed edges and chewy thin goodness on the inside - GREAT sauce and excellent mozzarella, any extra toppings are a bonus :) Mini Calzonees, as mentioned in previous reviews are worth getting - if it were up to me, I would put a little less Ricotta, and a little more Mozzarella... I will definitely try to come here again every week, and if I can't make it, I'll order carry-out

Excellent service and amazing food! My husband & I did not make reservations so we were not surprised when there was a wait on a Friday night in April. We put our names in with the host who ushered us to the bar for drinks. Not 10 minutes later, the owner ushered us to our table and had our drinks moved over, too. He kept checking on us and apologized several times for not having a table open. We love this place so much that we moved to live closer to it!

I really like this place! Take advantage of the BYOB while you can. With the beautiful spacious bar, BYOB can't last long. I love the interior of the restaurant. Cozy and spacious. The food was great. I like the simple menu. We had the Serio salad which was good. Pizzas were great. Thin but not super crispy. Sauce is a little sweet and tasty. We ordered the Margarita, Diablo, and the veggie. They were all great. Service was amazing. They forgot to put pepperoni on one of our pizzas so gave it to us for free. All in all, I enjoyed my experience here and I will be back!

The pizza reminds me of the pizza I had in France on the side of a vineyard in a open flame oven pop-up pizzeria, run by a father and two of his daughters. The ingredients are fresh, the peperoni is on top of the cheese, the thin crust is delicious without being soggy. We ordered a large and between 2 people and one 3yr old, it was gone in less than I would like to admit. We will definitely become regulars...only down point is they do not deliver...however, it's worth getting out of the house for.

I have been watching this place for months now waiting anxiously for the new pizza place by my apartment so I definitely had high expectations and luckily this place lived up to them! it gets four stars for having good pizza & great service (loses a star for not having exceptional pizza...). we walked in as a party of 7 and they made space for us right away. every table seemed to be full for most of the night, which is definitely a good sign. i'm loving the BYOB aspect and kind of hope it stays that way for awhile. between the 7 of us we got the flatbread appetizer, a caesar salad, a diavolo pizza, the big cheese pizza, and a meat your heart out. we were all pleased with our selections and a pizza was enough for 2 hungry people making it a GREAT value. the best part was the tiramisu... SO delicious! I wasn't hungry at all after dinner but couldn't stop myself from having a few bites. definitely excited to have this new place in my hood- worth the wait!

Solid pizza place. Cozy and casual atmosphere. In the back there is a the brick oven and a guy tossing pizza dough in the air (loved that). Respectable beer list, needs more options but, I know that takes time. The food: Spinach Dip: Yes, two thumps up! (mmm warm, toasty pita on the side) Diavolo Pizza: YES, do it! Do, it! Spinach Pizza: Disappointing, just alright. Value: Just a smidge over priced. Final verdict: I'd go back, definitely enjoyed the experience. (Note: Socks were not blown off.)

OK, I'm going to out myself here, I'm from Northern New Jersey (read: one town over from Real-Housewives-of-NJ) and I grew up eating NY/NJ thin-crust pizza. Pizzeria Serio is the closest thing to authentic NY/NJ thin-crust I've have had in Chicago. It has that great doughy layer under the cheese and a nice crispy crust that so many Chicago thin-crust places misinterpret as a flavorless cracker-like crust. The marinara on the pie is authentic and the slices fold up perfectly. If they were just a little thicker on the crust and heavier on the cheese I would have thought I was back home; of course that would have necessitated sopping the excess cheese grease off the slice with a napkin (which is part of the NY/NJ thin crust experience). The menu is "succinct", with 8 standard pies and a build-your-own option, three salads and three appetizers. The beer list is extensive and wine by the bottle is reasonably priced, especially if you stop by on Wednesday when there's 1/2 priced bottle night. This is NOT an Italian restaurant, it is - as it's name clearly states - a Pizzeria. If you want pizza, you go to a pizzeria, if you want pasta and Ossobuco, go to an Italian restaurant. The ambiance is casual sports bar, my wife and I liked the exposed brick and booths were classic and comfortable. My only critique was they need to dim the lights a bit inside. There is a line of thought that you should do one thing and do it well. Pizzeria Serio does great, authentic thin crust pizza. We'll likely be back.

Pizza Serio is a winner! I feel priviliged to have this great little place so near, and look forward to re-visiting when I have friends or family in town. It's a great Chicago place, setup very nicely, warm atmosphere, open layout not too crowded, clean, nice staff, and great pizza! We got the menu-described "highly addictive" mini-calzonees to start. After judging for myself I agree with the restaurants description of them being highly addictive. I was glad that they were accompanied by a small dish of their homemade pizza sauce because it was the only part of our meal that involved a sufficient amount of sauce. By the second slice of "Meat Your Heart Out" pizza, my buddy and I put a hold on sprinkling parmesan cheese on it in order to avoid further dryness. Maybe it was just that the sauce was so good that we wanted more. That's my main criticism for this place... that slightly wetter pizza would have been nice. Overall, well done Pizza Serio and welcome to the neighborhood!

Based on Yelp I decided to order from here - it was delish! The pizza and appetizer were priced and sized appropriately. My order was taken by phone in a very friendly and professional manner and the food was deliver within the 45 minutes they said it would take. I lived in NYC before moving to Chicago, was a devoted Grimaldi's patron, and when I was I needed more than a slice in manhattan I would go to lombardi's (Ben's if you need a slice). Been here in chicago now for awhile and have tried most, if not all the pizzerias you need to, and would definitely put this one near the top of my list (frasca's pretty good but I think way over hyped and packed with yuppies, spacca napoli makes my mouth water ...). My family and I ate at Serio last night, instantly made me think of that ultimate pizza under the Brooklyn Bridge (won't put it up next to that NYC pizza, but hey this Chicago). Glad to see this part of the neighborhood getting some decent food, get out and support these guys. Good pizza, good beer, waitress was hot ;-) and the service was great, though it wasn't too busy, won't be surprised if gets that way soon

If all of the items on Pizzeria Serio's menu were as good as the pizza, this would be a solid 5 star review. Their pizza is simply awesome (assuming you like brick oven pizza). Toppings are good, sauce is great, and they present a well-balanced pie. Delivery times vary, as I've had it from order to door in less than 20 minutes and others at 75 minutes. Just depends. Watching football on a Sunday at their location is also enjoyable, as they open their upstairs bar, which includes cozy booths and an optional all you can eat/drink special. I'm just not that sold on their other items (that I've had), which includes the mini calzones and the garlic twists. Maybe it's just that the pizza is so good nothing else compares. Either way, get to this place (or have them deliver...) and try the pizza. Personal fav is the Margherita con carne. If only they had capicola, I'd never order another pizza again.

I went to Pizzeria Serio with a group of friends a few nights ago and......This is some GOOD Zaa.....not to mention, handled our loud group very nicely. We started off with the flatbread and mini calzones. Both were pretty good. The mini calzones, actually, were pretty awesome. The pizza's ordered were: Margherita Con Carne, Meat Your Heart Out, and Diavolo. Pretty much a meat lover's paradise and I don't know WHAT I was thinking when I said I didn't need to take the leftovers home.....somebody else had a pretty tremendous breakfast the next day. The service was great. Our server was a hard worker. The owner of the restaurant also came by a few times to see how we were doing. He seemed genuinely interested in our feedback as well (which was pretty cool). I'm sold and will be back. The prices are reasonable (especially compared to Lou Malnati's). You can't beat a good brick oven pizza, too. Chicago style is good but like lasagna on flatbread. Brick is thin, enjoyable, and you don't have to roll out of the place. I know this place is new. I wish them the best of luck. Can't wait to get there again.

This is a new brick oven pizza joint in my neighborhood. I guess it opened a couple months ago. Really nice place, great atmosphere. Its BYOB for the time being as they are waiting for their liquor license, so enjoy it while you can! Pizza was super tasty, NYC style. Nice change of pace from Chicago pizza. Check it out f'sho!

BEST THIN CRUST PIZZA I'VE HAD SINCE I WAS IN ITALY LAST YEAR. This place is seriously a gem. The ingredients are SUPER fresh and the crust is delightfully and perfectly crispy on the bottom since they use a brick oven. The Margherita pizza is to DIE for. Also had the Diavolo (spicy) pizza once, which was killer. I always start with their caesar salad - perfect ratio of greens:dressing and with great thin shaved fresh parm. All the salads are big, so if there are 2 of you, you could probably split one. I went again last night with some girlfriends, sat right by the window on a gorgeous night, and it was delightful. My ONLY complaint is that - while the servers/staff are EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating, the service is always a little slow / aloof / not super attentive, even when they're not busy, which is confusing to me. For instance, right after our food came last night, our bottle of wine and our waters were empty for literally 20 minutes, during which time I could not get our server's attention to save my life. So that was frustrating. I guess I'm just used to my water being refilled when it's low, or having a server come back and check on us periodically, or having them ask if you're ready for another drink when you're down to the last sip. I almost raised my hand like I was in class, but didn't want to be rude. We eventually busted out a water bottle from my girlfriend's purse and shared it, right after which point our waitress came over with a carafe of water, and then I felt like a big A-hole. But I was parched. That said, this place is awesome, and I will definitely always go back. Honestly, I would give 4 stars (5 for food, demerit for dried up beverages), but the food is so good, and I think the staff is warm and well-intended, so I'm keeping em at 5... and hoping for better luck next time.

My husband and I tried this place last week when we were scouting around for new places. And we LOVED it. We split the roasted veggies for an app, which were perfect, and ordered a pizza with sausage and veggies. It was delicious. Not to heavy, not too light. They had a fairly decent beer selection, and the atmosphere was perfect, not too crowded, we got right in, but not so dead you wonder what's wrong. We are definitely going to add this place to our rotation! And the staff was very friendly and helpful!

West Lakeview needs more good restaurants which is why I am very happy for this restaurant. It seems to be our go-to place when we want to meet friends with kids for dinner. They have great beer selection and both the adults and kids always end up happy. We're equally as happy going out here without kids too. It seems like an adult place where kids blend in nicely. Plus, the pizza is great. Love the crust!

I love everything about Serio and I'm surprised I didn't find it on Yelp sooner. The Big Cheese is amazing and I like their other dishes too. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. The atmosphere is fantastic to bring friends out and the owner is always attentive with his patrons.

Just got back from dinner at this great pizza spot. My girlfriend got a Living Social Deal there for $15 for $30. We had been there once before but wanted to try it again. It was good the first time and even better the second time. We started off with two Half Acre Daisy Cutter Ale's (nice overall beer list) and the marinara and goat cheese appetizer. The beers were good and the appetizer was great and came with plenty of bread to dip. We ordered a half and half pizza comprised of the spinach white pizza and the "Big Cheese" red pie. It was very good and the portion size was much larger than other similar style pizza places in the area. Will definitely be back in the near future to try it again likely on a Tuesday (buy one pizza get one 1/2 off) or on a Wednesday (half price wine).

I was introduced to this place through Groupon and I have gone back a couple of times since, most recently last night. They have really good pizza and a good variety of beers. They run really good specials like half off appetizers, buy one get one half off pizza, and half off a bottle of wine. It seems that they have gained some popularity recently with the couples with young kids crowd. Last night just about every table had a screaming baby which was slightly unpleasant for us since we were looking to have a quiet date night, but hey there are not enough kid friendly restaurants in the city so I guess its a good thing. We will just have to go a little later next time.

Strolled in on Sunday which is family night. Kids get a free cheese pizza which is a deal. Started with a nice Italian salad and the house red at $20 was fantastic. We had the Diavolo pizza and really liked it. Nice little spot, friendly service, and some tv's to catch the game. I'd definitely go back.

This place is terrible. Walked in and there were only two customers in the place. Placed our order and waited for an hour and it never came. The place was not busy when we placed our order. Waitress didnt know what to do when we told her we were leaving. Paid for our drinks and walked out. Never going back there. What a joke of a business. This place deserves zero stars. At least the bathroom was clean. Should have known better. Who eats thin crust pizza in Chicago anyway.

Really good pizza. Somewhat limited macrobrew selection. Nice interior. TVs with sports. Higher quality ingredients, flavors blend well. What more can I say?

Really awesome pizza and really fast service. We came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night and realized when we got our first pizza we wanted another one for the group. The second was ready right after we finished the first. Great thin crust pizza, its my go thin crust on the north side. I highly recommend. Beer selection was really good. The owner was super friendly and came around to ask how everything way. Our waitress wasn't great, but she wasn't bad (took a while for drinks and coming back for order) otherwise it would be 5 stars. The rest of the staff was friendly and the quick food service more than made up for it.

I came here to watch the bears / packers game. They had an all you can eat and drink deal for $30 which is a great deal, but they didn't seem to be prepared for the crowd they received. Even though they weren't prepaired, the staff was working their hardest and doing an okay job. The bartender Tom was friendly and kept our glasses full the whole game. We ordered a pizza and it was very good...somewhere between NY style and gourmet. A suggestion to decrease the crowding in the bar area is to add some televisions in the room in the back on the first floor where the pizza oven is. I would definitely come back.

We were pleasantly surprised to find Pizzeria Serio after a sort of falling out with our favorite pizza place. Serio's pizza is really good--I wouldn't call it New York style, but it's definitely not Chicago style. I'd say it's closer to Detroit style, if that's really a style. ;) Anyway, it's our kind of style, which is what counts. Everyone liked the goat cheese veggies appetizer, too (well, I didn't try it, but everyone else did). Would definitely order from Serio's again. Recommended for people who like their pizza on bread instead of on crackers. ;)

It's very hard to get a good waitress at many places, but the waitress last night was spectacular! She was the only waitress and the place was full, she was very attentive and had great recomendations. We had the pizza and it was delicous. We also had the parmeson breadsticks, they were great.

Like other reviewers, I was looking forward to this spot. The space is great! Open and spacious, but still feels cozy. The wide open windows at the front are great during the (upcoming) warm weather. Pizza was good, not great. The Serio Salad with balsamic was just ok. I hate that they offer the kitchy soft drinks in glass bottles. No refills and barely enough to last before you get your food. We sat at the bar and the bartender (apparently one of the owners) was pretty standoffish and rarely asked if needed anything or made conversation. In fact, he was texting a lot. I don't necessarily want a bartender that won't leave me alone, but we were 2 of about 5 at the bar. You'd think he'd have said something. Overall, the food is good and reasonably priced. I like it for the neighborhood, but not sure I'd go there if I didn't live down the street.

AWESOME service! We booked the 2nd floor for a bach party. $25 for all you can drink house wine/beer plus pizza. Great deal when you get to have a private party. Margerita and meat pizza was yummy - cheese was on the salty side.

If you like brick oven style pizza you should probably head over to Pizza Serio right now. This place is truly a hidden gem and I had a great dinner here a couple of weeks ago. The dining room area of Pizza Serio is a nice size with a lot of warm brick and a huge oven as the center piece. When my boyfriend and I came in on a random week night the dining room was busy with young families and couples enjoying their dinner. We were seated at a booth toward the back and went to work deciding what to order. They have a pretty excellent draft beer selection that I didn't expect from a local pizzeria that we totally took advantage of. And since we had a Groupon (look for one before you go) we decided to go a bit bigger than usual and try a few things. We went with the Garlic Sticks, Meatball Marinara, and Diavola Pizza (white style). We really enjoyed the appetizers and I almost regretted ordering two because the real star at Pizza Serio is their perfectly cooked brick oven pizza! Our pizza was spicy, cheesy, and totally hit the spot for me. I was so full and wanted to keep eating and eating because it was THAT good. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who is looking to enjoy quality food at a fair price in an upscale atmosphere in the Roscoe Village and Lakeview areas. You won't be disappointed by Pizza Serio.

Went here for dinner with my boyfriend and it was okay. We started with the meatballs that were pretty good. The pizza we got was the goat cheese and spinach which was pretty tasty! However, we waited at least 30 minutes for our dessert. We ordered the hot brownie with ice cream on top. The place was super busy, but we literally waited for ever for a dessert the size of the palm of my hand. The waitress seen that I was antsy and gave us a couple dollars off of our bill which was nice! I think it was half price appetizer night so the place was packed. I would suggest trying this place out on a non-special night!

I tried this place for the first time because I had a Giftie and now I go back pretty often. I tried their Italian sandwich first and WOW it was delicious. Perfect blend of meats and spices. Second time I came, I tried their calzones which are to die for. If you live in Chicago and like Italian food, GO HERE!

We had the vegetarian pizza added basil, tomato and garlic. The Hubby is a vegetarian and doesn't like Pizza but he really loved it. I had the Lasagne and with a side of meatballs. Those meatballs are the best I have tasted. We also got the 3 appetizers. Goat cheese dip was my favorite. Calzones were my husbands favorite and neither one of us really liked the spinich artichoke dip. Service was great. We will be back for sure.

I'm like Denise, in the sense that I pretty much know this place from doing Simpsons trivia here since 2013, and still do to this day. I've always had a great time here, so I figure it'd be appropriate to do for review #600. Anyway the specialty slices and salads I tried were decent(unfortunately you have to ask for these, from the chefs downstairs), that a friend of mine on my trivia team(and who's gluten-free) specially asked for them to prepare herself. The staff(cooks up to the bartenders) have always been great, and I agree with Denise about the thin crust slices being cooked well, but also not being overly greasy either. Surprised I didn't know there was slightly more beer selection downstairs, though it's okay since the bartenders went out of their way a few times in the past to grab a beer down there, that wasn't available upstairs. One of these days, I'll go to their new sister restaurant in Wicker Park, called Craft Pizza.

Oh my gosh was this pizza goooood! We got there about 15 minutes before they opened on a Saturday for lunch, but they seated us promptly. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, we got our waiter's full attention, so the service was really good. As far as the menu goes, the pizzas here are thin crust Italian-style pizzas. They also have a few salads and pasta dishes, but I think their main offering is the pizzas. The pizza oven is right in back of the restaurant so you can see the yummy pizzas going in and out! We went with the garlic sticks as an appetizer and let me tell you, EVERYONE needs to eat these. They were to die for! Simple. But delectable! For our pizza, we went with the Margherita pizza and this too was excellent. It reminded me of the Margherita pizzas that I had while I was in Italy! It really brought back some nice memories and it was excellent. All-in-all, the service was great, atmosphere was nice, and the food was excellent. No question they get a 5 star rating from me and we will definitely be returning!

We immediately fell in love with Serio after moving to the area and have been several times for dine in and take out. Love the open loft bar space, service is usually pretty quick, and beer/cider options are good as well. But what really draws us in is the pizza! (Duh) My favorite is the Margarita con Carne with pepperoni. Serio makes some of the best, most consistent brick oven pizza I've found in the city. Their crust is medium thickness (my fave) and the sauce is delicious. Lunch time specials are well priced, and they also offer weeknight drink/food specials as well. If you're looking for non-chain, non-deep dish pizza in Chi, definitely check it out!!

We ordered two different pies. The sausage pizza was decent. The Diavola pizza was horrible. A Diavola pizza is to be made with a spicy pepperoni. Their version of this pizza was made with a mild pepperoni and hot peppers. The flavor of the pepperoni was bad. Overall, the crust was decent but the sauce was weak. I prefer either a sweet or spicy sauce. Unfortunately Im unable to find the proper words to describe their sauce.

We were here last weekend for dinner with a large group and aside from the awkward seating arrangement we had a great time! The waitress was very patient dealing with our group of 20+ and was quick with our drinks. The food took a little longer than we would have hoped but I understand that with such a large group it's difficult to time everything to come out at the same time. We ate family style with apps that included goat cheese, spinach dip, meatballs and breadsticks. Everything tasted great but the portions were a bit small in my opinion. I suppose for 2 people it would be perfect but we had to order several apps @ an average of $7-8 in order for everyone to even try it. We ordered several pizzas of 4 varieties: classic margherita, cheese, spinach and meat your heart out. Some pieces were pretty burnt on the crusts but the flavors were great for the most part! The spinach was my favorite but our group loved all of them. We all made out with apps, pizza, & 2 drinks for about $30 PP. Would love to come back to try some of the other pies.

I went in on 1/2 price wine and appetizer night! The garlic sticks are AMAZING! They look super dense, but they are light and fluffy. They have just enough garlic so you can taste it, but it's not obnoxious. My friend and I also had the spinach dip, which was also good. For appetizers, and two bottles of wine (yes, we are lushes), the bill came to about 35 bucks. Can't beat that!

Let me preface by saying that it was 9 PM when we went to this restaurant. This was our first time at Pizzeria Serio. We are a thin crust pizza family. Love gooey, chewy & cheesy pizza with sausage. We ordered the large cheese sausage with "peppas." We were not too thrilled with this pizza. It came with a miniscule amount of sausage, hardly any cheese and a sauce that tasted like a mild Tabasco mixture. We began our dinner with an Italian salad. In my opinion, it was not good at all. Definitely, one and done with Pizzeria Serio.

Dinner! I'm lov'in this place! I can't believe this is my 400th Review, time really does fly by when you are Yelping and having great times.. And, I wanted my 400th Review to be somewhere really cool and special and I think I made a great choice by choosing Pizzeria Serio.. Ah, this place, What's not to like /love here? Great Service from the moment I walked through the door, lovely, low lit ambiance, so cozy and welcoming... Tables and Booths and a small bar available for all your eating/drinking desires.. They have a wood fire burning oven at the back of the restaurant where they do their magic, and gotta say if you like/prefer your pizza very thin and crispy this is definitely a place you need to try. And, if you like/love Caesar Salad as much as I do they make a really good one here. I ordered a small sausage pizza and wound up taking most of it home with me, which will work out just fine.. Midnight Snack taken care of..:) Pizzeria Serio caters to a very diverse bunch of people, from couples and older folks like me to families with munchkins in tow.. Sarah and staff makes everyone feel welcome, and that is a major plus which definitely works in their favor. And I always give Props when they are deserved and I want to send out Major Props to the entire staff at Pizzeria Serio. These people never stopped, they were taking care of everyone beautifully. So, okay, I'll bet you knew this was coming, Yes, this was another Groupon Deal in which I paid $12.00 for $25.00 worth of food.. C'mon now, who would'nt get a deal like this? So worth it! So, Review #400 is now History and I think I made a great choice! Pizzeria Serio, you did yourselves proud.. Thanks for that..:)

Pizza Serio is closed on Mondays, but once a month, they host Simpsons trivia there and I went for the first time August 18. I wasn't going to eat any pizza (honestly, I've been trying to be good lately!) but when it came out, and it was so hot and smelled good, I decided one little slice was okay. Plus, it was thin crust, you know, and brick-oven baked, not oozing with grease like fast-food pizza, you know? One slice turned into two, and later, a couple more . . . The garlicky white pizza was amazing! The bar staff are all friendly and great, and the beer selection is very nice (although it's worth the trip downstairs for more, less hoppy, choices). Can't wait to go back!

Rude delivery service: On three occasions, we've tried to order delivery. The bartenders are extremely rude, offering up excuses in a belligerent tone.... They act like it's the customer's fault they can't get their act together. It's really a shame..... because the pizza is great (hence 2 stars instead of 1). You guys need to: a) Cancel your "delivery" option b) Improve to an adequate service.

Delicious brick oven pizza, very flavorful and not overly expensive. This is about as close as it gets to the east coast pizzas I've had. Maybe could use a little more cheese but otherwise great thin crust pizzas. They also have good specials (Tuesday: buy a large pizza, get one half off).

[Delivery review] Was seriously hankering for some wood fired pizza on a chilly Chiberia evening. Yes, wood fired, and wood fired ONLY. You know the kind... blistery, chewy crust... thin, perfectly soft dough, restrained toppings. This was a case for real Napoli-style pizza. Papa Johns and Jet's need not apply for this crave case. But with blustery snow falling outside my window and temperatures in the Polar Vortex range, what's a girl to do? Hit up Yelp to see who delivers tasty, brick oven pizza to her door. Yep, that'll work. Enter Pizzeria Serio for "serious brick oven pizza". I don't know how serious my pizza needs to be, but, it needs to be thin, it needs to be chewy and it needs to have fabulous, real Buffala mozzarella cheese. Check all of the above for Sir Serio! A margherita pizza arrived to my house within the hour and it was all of the above. Beautifully cooked with that chewy, doughy vibe that only comes from hand-tossed, wood fired pizza. Take a look at my pic if you'd like... see? Pretty! The cheese was well-portioned and delicious, the sauce was tangy and very fresh tasting, and the dough... the dough! It was perfection. My only complaint? Look at that basil! Not enough fresh basil. I know 'tis winter and the produce is sketch at best, but skimp not on the fresh ingredients! It makes the zzah. I also threw a caesar salad on my order for good, healthy measure and didn't think much of it. It was totally generic as most delivery caesar's are. Pass on this. But not on the pizza. The pizza is some seriously serio business.

Had heard about this place for a while and finally got a chance to stop in with friends over the weekend. It's casual with a pub like feel, but still comfortable and feels like a real restaurant not just a pizza joint. The brick oven thin crust pizza is tasty and reasonably prices, but nothing to go out of your way for in this pizza-rich city. Service was friendly and attentive and the beer list is excellent. A strong neighborhood option if you're in the area and in the mood for some slices.

Their pizza was phenomenal. I thought I was eating pizza from the East Coast (Boston). The real stuff, you know. Like the tasty, soft, thin crust with flavorful sauce. It was true Italian style (I would know, since I'm Italian). However....not everything was phenomenal. Why did it lose a star? Well I ordered a few salads as well. Oh wow. They were NOT worth 8 dollars. I don't even think they were worth 5 dollars. I thought I was getting a salad from my school's cafeteria, that's how bad it was. The lettuce, croutons and dressing were definitely from Sysco systems. That being said, this was probably the best tasting pizza I've had in Chicago that resembles the true Italian way.

The pizza is always excellent but it's always freezing inside even if you sit close to the oven. Other than that it's a great place to have high quality pizza and watch a game. Quality beer selection as well.

I go here every 2-3 weeks, and I've never had a bad experience. My b/f and I come here specifically for the goat cheese and marinara appetizer and the margherita pizza. I know they have goat cheese and marinara everywhere, but it's just better here for some reason - probably b/c the bread that comes with is REALLY good. Also, this is the best margherita pizza I've ever had. Here are some other reasons I'm giving this place 5 stars: 1) Never had to wait for a table, even on a Friday/Saturday night 2) Lots of good craft beer on tap 3) Good, quick service (the pizza comes out really fast - it's brick oven) 4) Decently priced 5) The pizza crust - my goodness, the crust! I think I like coming here more than Piece Pizza. Although Piece is fun and super delicious, I HATE the wait there! Serio is more of a relaxed atmosphere for when you're not in the mood for the rowdiness of Piece.

Decent pizza, not bad but nothing really stands out about it. I was surprised by the price. Two tiny pizzas, one 4 cheese, the other with 1 topping. Delivery total $32, with tip we spent $36 and we were still hungry after we finished it. Was hoping for better pizza at these prices.

Thee best pies my lover and I have ever had! From city to suburbs to back to the city we finally found our number one pie place ! So delicious! He's from the east coast so it hits home a bit none of that square cut pizza. But by far our number one, we do delivery and eat there as well and it's a great environment and great service !

My new favorite meatballs! My favorite meal is caprese salad and a meatball. We just moved to the neighborhood and will be coming back to try the pizza and enjoy some more meatballs! Meatball is homemade and you can taste it and it melts in your mouth! Half price wine on Wednesday works for us...also spinach salad is amazing too!

I feel bad it took over a year to review a place I visit on a regular basis. The pizza is great and the quality consistent. My husband and I had our small rehearsal dinner here - and they were not only accommodating but helped make the entire meal stress-free (which is exactly what I was hoping for). We had a similar rehearsal pizza dinner for our NYC ceremony in 2012 (figured it would be fun to replicate some of the best parts of our two part wedding celebration). I'm happy to say our Chicago pizza experience was more memorable here. :) The beer selection, while modest in size, has the higher-end choices as well as some old standards. The Diavolo pizza is my favorite (perfect amount of heat - especially with some extra crushed red pepper).

This place is the absolute worst when it comes to delivery. First time they sent it to the wrong address and then gave me attitude about it. I called the manager the next day to voice my concerns and they told me my next order of the same price is on them. I asked if they were sure they'd have my name on file next time I called - well of course they didn't have my name but whoever took the order decided to just agree after a few minutes of discussion. Most recently I ordered online to make sure they didn't mess up my address - I was quote 1.5 hours when it didn't arrive I called and was told it was still in the oven - and told this with a big time attitude. Really over 2 hours for a pizza? Go here in person (maybe.... I've never been) but don't waste your time with delivery - you're just paying for a rude employee to blame you for their mishaps.

The Event: Baby Gender Reveal Party. The Location: Pizza Serio upstairs. The Bartender, Host, smiling face: Sara. Pizza, salads, and appetizer meatballs were fantastic. This is a neighborhood place that I look forward to visiting. I have friends that visited here that have since moved to the burbs with their families. They tell me, "Garrett, man i miss Pizza Serio." Go here. Have a $5 Daisy Cutter. Put your arm around your girl and your family and sit proud. Great place. Garrett, Kylie, and the TWINS.

Have been wanting to go here for several months, finally made it out here and was very disappointed. Walked in, only about 2 tables currently being used and no staff walked up to seat us, even after one staff member walked in and just past us by. Finally asked the bartender if someone would seat us and he said just sit anywhere. After sitting down (grabbed our own menus btw) the staff members looked over at our table multiple times but didn't once make their way over. Apparently they were uninterested in working today so I decided to leave, something I have only done once or twice in my life. Severely disappointed. Maybe I'll try again once staff members who actually want to work are hired.

My girlfriend plays pool league at Cork Lounge, and a group of us ordered pizza. It took an hour and a half outside the estimated delivery time. When the delivery guy came two hours after we ordered, and we asked him why, he said he had too many deliveries. By this point we have called the restaurant and they told us that they would comp the meal. I gave the delivery guy a tip and hence the 2 star review: He threw it at me and left! My friends and I only wanted to be understanding and civil, but after this unpleasant experience, none of us will order from you again.

Had the spinach pizza. Loved it. I stopped in with my friend and got something to eat before we went to the bar. I couldn't have been happier with the way Serio crafted the spinach and goat cheese combo. I also loved that there was no marinara sauce. All of it felt light and it didn't weigh me down or bring me to a food coma. Kudos! I will definitely be back. Especially because there is ample seating and you aren't shoved in like a can of sardines.

Dine in----We've come for dinner several times and are generally satisfied. The Veggie pizza is bland but the Margarita makes me go to heaven. The Spinach White pizza is divine especially dipped in marinara! My fussy toddler asks for this pizza and so do I!! ====== Private Party-----We had our 2 year old's birthday party in their upstairs party room and it was fabulous. We trashed the place with hay and farm decor and they were totally ok with everything. Sarah was more than sweet, laid-back, and accommodating when I had questions or needed help. Actually, she never said no to me about anything (moving tables/chairs, hanging/taping decor, set up) and I was a little worried about it prior since we had a musician and balloon twister coming in who needed room plus 14 crazy toddlers. Everyone loved the artichoke dip, spinach salad, and pizzas. I brought in a trough of my own goodies for the farm theme, and they didn't mind at all. Probably the most accommodating place I've thrown a party. I would def do another party here. The only downside was that the lighting is very dark. Luckily, our party was on a sunny day and it helped fill the room up with natural light. Also some of the email communication was a bit slow at times, but nothing to get sour over. Awesome place to have a party, great food, super awesome management! Thanks Serio!!!!!

First, I just moved from NYC and I have strong feelings when it comes to a good pizza. This brick oven pizza was perfect, very similar (just as yummy) as a NY pie but a little more real Italian. I have absolutely no qualms with this pizza and it's nice to know I can have a bite of home anytime! ALSO! Major specials that are to be noted. Everyday of the week they have a deal, we visited on a Wednesday and the deal was 50% off appetizers and bottles of wine! No joke. This place is great for watching sports and not spending a small fortune for wine!

After watching Serio Pizza on Best of Chicago I decided to call in for delivery. I live 15 minutes away from their location so they were gracious enough to deliver my way. Instead of $3 they were going to charge me $4 for delivery which was fair. The spinach pizza came less than hour as I was told and expected. I'm an avid pizza eater coming from the NY/NJ area where the best pizzas are forged. The verdict: pizza was exceptional, nice thin chewy crust, fresh ingredients which made the pizza taste very healthy. I like a lil' grease on my pizza but that was my own doing as I ordered spinach. Next time I'll try to the Margherita or the meat lover's pizza. I'll definitely order from Serio Pizza again.

Not a lot of selections when it comes to the food menu. The alcoholic beverage menu was much more elaborate. However, pizza was excellent and executed perfectly. My mother, daughter and myself happen to be the ONLY African American people in the entire restaurant and because of that we received subpar service. None of us ever received a refill on any drinks not once. My mother even asked for a drink but never received it. Our waitress Kellum S. never came to table to check on us during our entire meal. Once I tasted the pizza I had decided that I wanted order a pizza Togo but since we were treated as non-factors I decided not give them anymore of my service and the tip was a written tip for future service to African American customers. Most definitely won't be back!!!!!

Finding good brick-oven pizza is a priority for me, so when my now-wife introduced me to Serio's, I knew that I found my brick-oven pizza spot in Chicago. In my opinion, great pizza starts with great crust, and when Serio's pizza is fresh out of the oven, the crust is perfectly crisp on the outside and warm on the inside. The spinach pie is one of my favorites, sausage and peppers is good, and the chef's specials are often the way to go. A GREAT beer list. Good beers on tap, and a fairly long list of bottled beers, including a nice selection of Belgian and Belgian-style beers. If you like meatball subs, Serio's offering is solid. I also like the garlic bread. The pizza is great, but I keep coming back because of the people who work there--very nice people, who make you feel welcome when you walk in. Serio's is a great place for families--and Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights tend to draw a bigger family crowd early in the evening. But I've never had to wait long to sit and the service is prompt. Lots of TVs, and if you sit at the bar, it's a nice place to watch a game and eat some great pizza.

This place is in the perfect spot to bridge the gap between family friendly and a beer-based bar program with a few, well-placed tvs showing sports. It's packed with families in the early evening and then taken over by draft drinkers as the night ages. We have never been even kinda disappointed in the pizza, and the goat cheese appetizer is so good. Yep, it lacks a little bit of creativity, maybe, but it fits the niche and has become a favorite for us. It helps that our toddler, who isn't all that fond of pizza generally, eats this pizza with reckless abandon and our family fits in with the many others just trying to get out of the house and have food that the kids will eat and the adults will enjoy with a drink.

I ordered the Margherita Pizza and it was served way too hot. The crust was perfect, but given that I now have blisters on the inside of my mouth from eating it, that definitely knocks the rating down.

Just because I live in Chicago doesn't mean I love deep dish. Not only do I love thin crust, I'm a self-professed thin crust snob. Pizzeria Serio serves up one of the best thin crusted pizzas I've had in the Windy City. It's the perfect balance of thickness and crispiness, without being burnt. It also can hold the ingredients without getting soggy. Hubby and I tried the margherita pizza con carne (yes, it comes with meat without having to add it as an additional topping!). We usually cannot finish an entire pie, but we devoured the large between the two of us in record time. It was delicious. We also split an Italian salad, which was different with the honey garlic dressing. Good different. The salad servings are huge! It's enough for 3-4 people for an appetizer. Service was friendly and prompt. It wasn't crowded on a Sunday early evening. They offer a large selection of craft beers. Hubby discovered a new favorite on tap. It's definitely a good (but maybe bad) thing that this place is within walking distance for us...

2 hour plus wait for thin crust pizza. Are you kidding? Because of rain earlier? Deep dish doesn't take that long. My brother orders from them ALL the time. Called and said it would be out the door in 10 minutes (and we are only a few minutes away from the pizzeria). 30 minutes later still hasn't arrived. Called again and was told the pizza was on the way. But offered to refund and cancel the order. Told them we wanted the pizza but they cancelled it by email (order done online) anyway. New customer service low. (And by the way I don't think the pizza is all that good to begin with, just my brother likes it).

Okay, I am from Pittsburgh, and while I normally think of it as pretty Midwest, I guess we just do pizza different on the East Coast. That said, Pizzeria Serio satisfies everything that I have been missing about good pizza for the decade plus since I moved here. This is Boston pizza, this is Pittsburgh pizza- not bragging, but I've been to Florence and Venice and while I was there you best believe I ate a lot of pizza, and this is for real Italy pizza. Their Margherita pizza is perfection. I haven't eaten there- that stretch of the Belmont Corridor is a little shi shi foo foo- but their delivery has been consistent and hot. They seem to get slammed on the regular and they stop taking orders early with some frequency, so don't sleep. The one time they were late, the guy had many pizzas with him, had a story about an over-busy kitchen (which I believed, re: many pizzas), was super nice about everything and the pizza was STILL HOT. I have not a single complaint. Best pizza in Chicago says the voice of experience.

Yummy is all I can say!!!! I went there tonight with a couple of friends with 10 giftie dollars. I made all my friends sign up so actually 30 giftie dollars. I am a huge cheese lover. On my pizza I get extra, extra cheese, with very little sauce. I know sounds weird, but the butter crust and cheese are sooooo good. I'm very picky about pizza sauce but to my surprise it was tasty. They have a huge menu to choose from, and good chicken wings might I add. They also have a good selection of wines. I'm a wineo!!!! lol.It was busy for a Monday night so I'm assuming weekend nights are crazy long lines. Got to try this place out even if you have to wait!!!!

I was actually really surprised at how good this place was. I went here with a large group after our spa day. The service was attentive. The food was pretty darn good! We had several salads that were large and delicious! The spinach and artichoke dip was delish as well. Next up, the pizzas! YUMMY! We had the big cheese, margherita, and the spinach. They were all great. Thin and brick oven like. The dough is bready and not buttery...kind of made me think I was sort of eating healthy...maybe??? Also the spinach was a white pizza that was fantastic! YUM! Overall, I would definitely go back for thin, brick oven pizza if I was in the area! And it was reasonable in price! Anything is when you compare it to the chain, deep dish downtown pizza :)

Although the pizza is great and we are frequent delivery guests, tonight's handling of our order from a customer service standpoint was extremely disappointing and will make me rethink being a customer again. I placed the order via their website and within a few minutes received notification the restaurant had canceled our order. I then called to be informed that "yes I did that; we are busy and it will be up to two hours." How is this acceptable customer service? The right thing to do would have been to either call me directly, or close your online system. I'm glad your busy, but you just lost repeat business by your lack of caring.

Good PIzza and nice specials on different nights of week. However the owners should really take note of their "hostess". She doesn't smile or say hello or goodby. Sure she is nice and happy when owners are there but really doesn't seem happy to be there.

I absolutely love pizza, and as such I can be pretty particular. We stumbled upon this place while walking around on a lazy Sunday and decided to give it a try. It's got your typical pizzeria atmosphere, and the day we went had specials for kids so there were a lot of families. We got an order of the garlic twists, which while pretty standard, were delicious. We split the Chef's Special pizza of the day, I think it was called California Dreaming, with cheese, red onion, banana peppers and something else. It was AMAZING. Normally I'm not a fan of all the things that were on this pizza, but it all came together so well and the crust was nice and crispy. They seem to have pretty good weekly specials, so I'd love to come back. Our server was a bit slow and forgetful, but very friendly and we weren't in a hurry.

Wonderful service!!! And you can watch your pizzas being made and then baked in the oven. Plus they have an extensive craft beer list and a full bar! The place was packed on a Wednesday evening. We started out with the flat-bread appetizer, which was $6. It was massive!! (Almost the same size as the pizza!) It was yummy, with lots of pesto and cheese. For our main course we got the spinach pizza and split the chopped salad. Both were very good! The chopped salad was massive, and they did not skimp on the ingredients. The spinach pizza was amazing, a thin crispy crust with lots of feta, spinach, and tomatoes. The service was awesome, and attentive. Very happy to have found this place!

I regret ever ordering pizza from here! I'm always craving it now! D'Agostino's is my go-to pizza place, but I wanted to try something new. I've passed by Pizzeria Serio many times so I decided to give them a go. I went with a pepperoni pizza and it did not disappoint! The crust is so light and crispy and the cheese had excellent flavor. I finally dined in and the place wasn't packed on a Saturday night, which was good! We got a table right away and the pizza didn't take very long. We made our own, and my half had artichokes which are my favorite! Their Thursday deal ($20 for a large cheese pizza and pitcher of beer) is calling my name right now....

Looking for a great Neapolitan brick oven pizza? This is a great spot. Had the Margerita con pepperoni and it could not have been better. Crust was tasty, not too sweet. More cheese than I normally see on this type of pie, but that's a good thing, too. I put this 'za in the same league as Frasca and Spacca Napoli.

I dined in on a Sunday afternoon, when there were very few people inside. The place is darkly lit but clean and nice looking. I ordered the margherita pizza, which came in under ten minutes. The crust was chewy (as opposed to cracker crisp or soft to the point of being floppy) and slightly thicker than an average thin crust. Even the edge crust was an appetizing consistency. It tasted very good, as did the fresh mozzarella, basil and sauce. I was glad I ordered one without too much on top to get in the way, as the brick oven cooked crust is clearly the star. The 10" small is a great size for one hungry eater. Service was friendly and prompt. It was a perfect experience and I'll go back, though Vito & Nick's is still my favorite. There's a reason I chose Pizza The Hutt as my avatar; when I recommend a pizza place you can count on it.

I'm feeling very generous today so I'm going to give Pizzeria Serio 5 stars! I'm not much of brick oven pizza kind of gal, so I was a little skeptical trying this place. We ordered the Diavolo PIzza and it was excellent. Definitely exceeded my expectations. It had just enough spice so it was not overwhelmingly hot and it was very flavorful. It contains red onion though so I wouldn't order this on a first date - lucky for me I went with my husband so lets just say there wasn't much canoodling that night! ha! To start we had goat cheese flatbread which was also very apetizing. We went on a Saturday night and there was no wait at all and service was good. The place has a full bar and TV screens and an upstairs which we didn't get to see. Great experience and will come back again!

I am done with them. I was their biggest advocate, patron, and supporter, but quality has slipped and the owner has an attitude. I called in after they got my order wrong and I asked if I could speak with a manager (1. to discuss the wrong order. 2. to discuss the drop in quality). The owner picked up the phone and said, "Dont worry, you'll get a free pizza next time." I told him I wasn't interested in the free pizza and I just wanted to quickly explain that I have noticed the quality slip tremendously, because I used to love this joint. He then interrupted and said, "Look, i'm a working owner, and it's busy here, so should I call you back or something?" I told him that would not be necessary, as that was going to be my last order. 1. I didn't ask to speak with the owner, just a manager. 2. If he was so busy and only planned to interrupt to shove "free pizza" down my throat, he shouldn't have taken the call at all. I was looking to explain how much I loved their pizza and was now disappointed. 3. Quality has gotten significantly worse; they used to have these amazing garlic knots, now they are just generic Sysco bread sticks. The pizza used to be amazing as well, now it is a doughy, dry pie with a lack of overall ingredients. Breaks my heart. In an overcrowded pizza marketplace like Chicago, why be such a jerk and lose a long term customer?

Don't bring your children here! This used to be our go-to place on Friday nights for the past year and a half. Loved that it wasn't super crowded and that families with kids were always welcome. No one judged you if your kids didn't sit perfectly quiet and act well mannered at all times. We were in there recently and was asked by management "if I could just get my kids under control." He was referring to my 2 month old newborn who was crying in an already loud and jam packed restaurant. I'll admit my older kids had previously gone to the restroom themselves and we had to settle them all down, however when this comment was made to us, everyone was behaving well with the exception of my crying newborn (who I was frantically trying to settle). The family next to us (with kids as well) overheard and came over to express their displeasure with the comment that was made and stated that nothing about our kids behavior warranted that response from the establishment. We were mortified at first-but now just extremely disappointed. This was a place we have gone to and ordered from more times than I can count. It feels like it doesn't matter that we have been long time patrons-now that people are coming in with their Groupons, they would rather cater to them. We will not be going back and I would suggest that the establishment lighten up on families, especially given the demographics of the neighborhood. It's just truly disappointing.

They are soooooo slow!!! No one should wait over 2 HOURS for a THIN CRUST pizza in Chicago. They need more drivers to accommodate their orders. We expect an hour in Chicago- they emailed after the order that it would take two hours. Who checks that?!? We were huge customers, but this will be the last pizza we order from them. In addition, he told me that he hasn't had time to take a bathroom break because they're so busy and offered to cancel our order "like other people are doing". First, you need more man power if you can't handle the demand. Second, don't tell me you can't take a bathroom break- I'm a teacher and that does NOT sit well with me. On top of it, we just got an email for a cancel when we called and clearly stated we wanted the pizza!

I live two doors down from this place and I have never written a review but I decided to share. The pizza is amazing and come out fast. The pizza oven is amazing and as soon as you order you can watch them toss your dough and put it in the oven. The ambiance is excellent and the staff is friendly. The beer selection is decent; they could have a few more. There are about 7 beers on tap. The word I would use to describe the menu is weak. The pizza menu is just fine and there are good apps but there needs to be more of a pasta selection. I prefer white sauce with my pasta and there are only red selections and there is only a couple. The only qualms I have about this place is that they fly a bears flag outside and the one time I wanted to go there for Bears monday night football they were closed. They are closed on mondays which is annoying. Other than the place is great. It also does not bother me to come home from work to have my apartment smelling like the best pizza in the world.

I will admit that I have never been to Serio but we order from Serio all the time and the we always order the Margarita with Fresh mushrooms added. It really is great pizza. Unprofessional Service! I have been ordering pizza from Serios's for years, I'm their perfect customer, as I just order over the phone or order online, go in and pick my food up. No table to set or clean! But about 3 weeks about my daughter called in an order, and I picked it up, and bartender messed up my name, and I corrected him. Then I ordered online recently where my name was handwritten correctly on the pizza box, but the SMART - A$$ bartender called me by another name (as a disrespectful joke), even though he know my name. He did it on purpose as he smirked and laughed about his own stupid joke, I found his behavior completely unprofessional. Not sure whom the owner is of Serio's but for sure I would not tolerate some SMART - A$$ - DISRESPECTFUL employee to smear my company name!

Diavola and caprese salad, this is one of our weekly spots kind of a hangout spot with friends, grab a pizza beer great way to fill up the belly. The pizzas are awesome and diavola is one of our favorites, has a nice spicy bite which compliments the sauce very well. We always get a salad as a starter and our favorite is thr Caprese the large chunks of cheese really do it for me. Overall an excellent choice for pizza and beers. Highly recommended.

I ate at pizzeria serio with a groupon last night. We had the Margherita pizza with hot sopressata. The pizza was excellent and we also had garlic twists as an appetizer which was also delicious. I will definitely come back. What I also really like about this place is that they offer the pizza in different sizes. So many brick oven places only offer one size and you have to get two pizzas for two people. This is definitely a much more affordable way to get brick oven pizza for two people.

Yum!! The first thing I had was the goat cheese in marinara. Holy crap it was addictive. The salad with goat cheese and oranges was fresh and tasty. Great tap beer selection. And the service was perfect. Plus they have half off apps on weds!!

A great local spot for Pizza. I went recently for the $20 Thursday special - Cheese Pizza and a pint of beer. I find the pizza to be perfect for a weeknight dinner - not too greasy or heavy and it's an incredibly reasonable price for tasty pizza. The staff was also very friendly and delightfully accommodated our request for a specific football game.

I ordered a pizza through chow hound and it was ready and uniquely good. There are thousands of great pizzas in Chicago a stone's throw form this place.SO why was I treated like, "Here's your pizza now leave, I'm busy." I walked into an almost deserted restaurant around 6:30 PM and saw several employees working and a pizza oven guy in the back.No one said anything to me as I entered. So I went to him and he directed me to the bar. At the bar the young man was busy talking to a friend about how the police murder people. So I interrupted him and asked where I pay for my pizza. His attitude got worse so why get into it. My experience was terrible and I won't be back.

My wife and I have made this our go-to pizza for delivery, and dining in is great too. It may sound crazy to choose this pizza of all the pizzas Chicago has to offer but hear me out. It's fresh, not greasy, light, and still hot when it arrives. It's simple a delicious without being a gut bomb.

Went last Tuesday for the third time and it was a hit again, so i figured, Ill write a review! If you are looking for a thin, crunchy, non fatty pizza: this is the place for you! really good brick oven crust pizza. not the thick kind that drips oil... the combinations are excellent, plenty of vegetarian options, delicious appetizers, the Cesar salad was great and the spinach pizza with no marinara sauce is fantastic as well as the margherita. really good service too!

Came here for lunch today and was a little disappointed in the pizza. We ordered the margherita, their special, and I counted four sad little pieces of basil on the pizza when it arrived. More basil, since basil is the key ingredient in a margherita pizza and all, would have been appropriate.

I gotta say, I was disappointed with the pizza at this place after reading all the glowing reviews here. Then again I'm pickier than most when it comes to pizza especially brick oven pizza. Ordered a large margherita pizza and a spinach salad. The pizza came out of the oven after a few minutes, nice and blistered. Taste wise, the toppings were fine. Your standard pureed San Marzano tomatoes with mozzarella and basil. But the crust was a total letdown. This crust was too soft and limp with very little flavor. It seemed to lack salt and didn't have the characteristic flavor of a properly fermented pizza dough. Just standard thin crust with some char from a brick oven. The spinach salad though I must say was incredible. Loved the citrus vinaigrette with the tangy goat cheese and crunchy walnuts. Really good and cuts through the heaviness of the meal nicely.

My husband and I went with 6 of our friends so we were able to try a good variety of items. The pizzas here remind me of Spacca Napoli's but I liked it better here as I felt there was more flavor. We also enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip and the italian salad but the real star of the meal was the calzone. Delicious melted mozzarella oozed out of it and adding the ricotta to it was pure genius. I will come back just to eat one of those again and take advantage of their Tuesday buy 1 pizza get one 1/2 off special!

I have been wanting to try Pizzeria Serio for about a year now, and thanks to Groupon Now, I finally did! We ordered the Spinach Salad and the Eat Your Veggies Pizza. The salad was outstanding! It has the perfect amount of goat cheese and walnuts. Our pizza was also wonderful. The thin crust certainly had that brick-oven flavor, and it was perfectly cooked. Our server was quite friendly, and the restaurant had a very comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely return!

The BF and I came here because we had a LivingSocial coupon and being a big fan of pizza, I thought my bf would be in heaven. We were right. We step in on a snowy night and the atmosphere was cozy and laid back but still had some games going on and plenty of people in the place (which is always a good sign). We ordered a couple beers (small but decent selection) along with some spinach/artichoke dip, which came with warm pita bread and it was amazing! We also ordered a spinach pizza and added sausage on it (which ended up being a great idea) and it was tasty! Im a huge thin crust fan so I thought this pizza was perfect. It was light, crispy, but still very flavorful without being overly rich. Overall, we left feeling super full and still had half of the dip and pizza left. All in all we spent around $30 for a pizza, app and 2 beers for dinner AND lunch the next day. I'll be back!

A friend visiting from DC purchased an online coupon for Pizzeria Serio (PS) for when he visited. With all of Chicago's great eats, we never made it there. With a week left before expiration, my partner and I used the coupon our friend left behind--Score! You step in to PS and feel as if you're entering the arched brick pizza oven. All the walls are brick, possibly since the structure originally served as a former recording studio. Pretty neat. The second thing I noticed is all the kids and families. This is a forewarning... I thought it was kids-eat-free night (Sunday) but I was wrong. I think it's simply due to the surrounding West Lakeview neighborhood (must be good schools there or something). Once I got over all the screaming and trampling footsteps around my table, I concentrated on the menu with a fair amount of wines and beers, plus Mexican Fanta and Coca Cola in the glass bottle (made the right way!). The menu is Italian-influenced with homemade dough and sweet tomato sauce smoothed out onto their NYC pie-style pizzas and calzones which are baked in the stone oven at 800* (say 'Ciao' to Chicago deep-dish for a day). The dishes are served on circular metal pizza baking sheets which is a fun idea. I ordered a calzone which is humungous and serves 2 people (or one very large Italian man) but only goes for only $10. If you'd like to give it a try, they also serve two mini calzones as an appetizer. You can customize your calzone to your liking, with a price. The crust was outstanding in flavor and crispiness. I'd recommend it! They also have some Serio Weekly Specials (serio as in 'serious'): Tuesday-Buy one pizza, get one half off Wednesday-Half off bottles of wine Thursday-Pizza & Beer Night Sunday-Kids eat free (beware.) Serio surely takes their food serio, now if we can only lock the kids upstairs...And maybe get some staff that takes their jobs a little more seriously. All in all, 5-stars for the food.

Their margherita pizza is totally legit!! We went there late on a Fri night. Our group of 5 walked in after 10... they were almost closing down.... but they were really sweet and let us in. Their service was very good... they didn't rush us even if it was close to their closing time. The margherita pizza is delicious.... as good as it gets. The veggie lovers was good too. I would definitely add this place to my list of fav brick oven pizzas.

Best Margherita pizza I've had in a loooong time! We came in on at 10-15pm on a Friday night when they were almost closing down and we were hungry. We got a large margherita pizza and a small "Eat your veggies" pizza. And a small custom pizza with onion peppers and pepperoncini. They were all delicious but the Margherita pizza was the best. Made with fresh mozzarella, delicious base and flavorful tomato sauce, it is the classic NYC style pizza that I absolutely loved!!

We ordered delivery last night, as neither of us felt like cooking. The online ordering process was pretty easy. The software isn't as good as the major chains (thinking Domino's here), but I'd put it on par with a Grub Hub type of interface. It was a little weird getting the estimated delivery time only via email and not at the end of the ordering process. The FOOD!! We ordered a Margherita Pizza and the Meat Your Heart Out. It was good. I wasn't sure what to expect out of a brick oven crust as I'm more a fan of Stuft/Deep Dish pizza. Shocker, eh? The crust was good, had a nice bit of char on it, some good crunch, with the inside being delightfully pillowy. The sauce was good, cheese was fine, the meats tasted good. The sausage was a bit more like meatballs than like a typically sliced sausage-that was great to me. However, I kept thinking that the pizza was a fancier version of a Papa John's type of pizza...not exactly anything special. The crust especially reminded me of their pizza. Don't get me wrong, I liked the pizza....I finished a small (11inch) in a sitting w/o hesitation. However, would I go out of my way to order this place again or for the foreseeable future for delivery? Nope, but I would like to go there for pizza and beer. Their beer list looks awesome...and I think their pizza would be much better paired with a sampling of good beers. Think of amazing bar pizza, or good delivery pizza-not great, but nowhere near bad. After I have a chance to get their pizza via dine in, I'll update this review. I was debating between 2 and 3 stars, but went with 3 since the online ordering process was so easy.

I am literally still sitting at the table with one of my best friends. I was so excited to come here because It was the closest thing to NY style thin crust pizza. It doesn't get you too full; it's just right. We ordered a large pepperoni and ricotta cheese pizza. 8 slices, 4 each. The owner was hilarious and really nice. The environment inside was relaxed and the food was amazing! Can't wait to come here again.

Popped in here randomly on a weekend... ordered a couple beers and a spinach white pie pizza. Above average pizza but not spectacular. I do really enjoy brick oven crust. There were two private parties going on while we dined there which made the place extremely loud. It was so bothersome I really felt like it tarnished my experience. Overall decent beer selection, good pizza, not too expensive.

I had to opportunity to dine at Pizzeria Serio on the evening of January 5th. A couple friends had been there before and gave it great reviews- and they had purchased a coupon from one of the Groupon type sites. I was pleasantly surprised by what a great experience it ended up being Our server greeted us right away (a girl) and she was fantastic throughout the night. They had a few seasonal beers available that I asked about and our server quickly returned with a few samples. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer and it was really delicious with a fair amount of good flat bread. We ordered two pizzas, one Meat your Heart out and one of the Big Cheese with pepperoni and green peppers added. Yum! The food was spot on, and the service right along there with it. I'll defiantly be back- a great spot worth checking out.

Went here with a Groupon and we will most likely not be returning. Pizza was okay, but I agree with some other reviewers--it is definitely not NY-style pizza, no matter what our server claimed (I'm from the east coast and I'm convinced NY pizza tastes the way it does because of the NY water!) We split the margherita and the spinach (white) pizza and I liked the spinach one more. The small pies are pricey, $12 - $14 dollars for six small slices. Expect to pay more with the addition of more toppings. Service was friendly and our pizzas were served within a reasonable amount of time. For a bar/restaurant, it is child-friendly, but there were too many small children running back and forth the length of the room when we were there, even though it was crowded at 6:00 PM on a Thursday night. I kept waiting for one of the servers to go down amidst a hail of hot pizza sauce and melted cheese. Overall a semi-pleasant experience, but not one I will be repeating anytime soon. Try it if you're in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't recommend making a special trip, especially if you're traveling any great distance.

Not the best pizza, not the worst pizza. I was disappointed after all the amazing reviews for this place, because I thought it was just ok. I went on a Tuesday night, they were pretty busy and one waitress served all the tables. She was nice though, and our food didn't take too long. The Spinach and Artichoke dip was delicious! We then ordered Classic Margherita and the "big cheese" pizza. They were both good not great, the Margherita was a little plain. Maybe it was just an off night, because others seem to love that pizza. Probably wouldn't make a point of going back here.

Was here on a Thursday night with the roomie with a craving for some pizza. This was my second time here (and it won't be my last). We ordered a standard pepperoni and sausage pizza with onions. It was delicious and the brick oven crust of the pizza was crispy and the amount of toppings, sauce and cheese was just right. I would have given them 5 stars except it took a little while to take care of our check, otherwise everything was a-okay. I'd recommend this place anyone who lives in the area. They also have a decent craft beer selection as well.

I don't know much about this place. I came in with a Gilt City deal which I purchased based on all of the positive reviews about the food and service. After being there I wonder if this is one of those places that's owned by someone who's always wanted to have a restaurant but has never worked in the industry. Or maybe Kitchen Nightmares has ruined me forever. Its spacious and friendly inside. Very clean. Our deal was for 1 app, 1 salad, 1 pizza and 1 dessert with a glass of wine or beer. We both got the red wine. I only had a few sips which is really telling if you know how I feel about wine and "leaving a soldier behind" We asked for waters which seems common now so no ding on that but they were never refilled. We got the caprese salad first. It was good but, you know, easy. Then we got the goat cheese marinara because I read in Time Out Chicago that goat cheese is making a comeback. The sauce in it was like canned. I dunno it wasn't special and not good. The only thing on the table was dried chilis so I couldn't add S&P or oregano. No doctoring possible. I liked the bread crusts that you get to dip. Unfortunately I was feeling saucy so we got the cheese pizza to avoid the white pizza options. So more of this not good sauce. The crust is good. And like I said, no seasonings on the table to help out, no extra napkins, no water refill. We did get Parmesan (upon request) that came from the fridge (maybe that's why I thought this person isn't a former restaurant guy) At this point I should say something about the service. Its friendly but the poor lady that's working the whole thing needs help or training. We waited a really really long time before we were able to ask for a box and the dessert. And like I said no water refills. So she left and we didn't see our leftovers and then a brownie sundae appeared. I guess that's the only dessert option? It was the best thing there so that was cool. Then, you know, after more waiting, we got our boxed up food and left. I can't fault the waitress. I think she had a lot going on in there. And you can see they do a healthy take out biz.

Ordered a pizza through GrubHub and the delivery person screwed up. It was over an hour and half and still no pizza. I wanted blood...there was no possible way that they were going to do anything right with this! But they did. Annette with GrubHub got on top of it and Sara at the restaurant sent a new one on the double...and it was terrific. Brick oven is a tough and healthy pizza. Nailed it. It is not often I get talked off the ledge or write reviews on Yelp after an ordeal such as this. So, please let this Review of their efforts compel you to try 'em out. I will be back.

I'll admit, when driving by Pizzeria Serio day after day on my way to and from work I just assumed it was another so-so pizza joint in a sea of hundreds of pizza joints in Chicago. All I can say is...you know what happens when you assume. Pizzeria Serio is really, really good! We finally decided to try them out on a Tuesday when they have their buy 1 pizza get 1 50% off special. We ordered the Margherita and the Meat Your Heart Out and loved them both. Their pizza is very thin with a delicious tomato sauce and a thick, yet soft and chewy, crust. Their pizza is very similar to Sapori di Napoli that was further east on Belmont, they've unfortunately just gone out of business, good for Pizzeria Serio I guess! Very impressed, will definitely be stopping in and/or ordering from them again!

I had read some good things about this place and wanted to check it out. Our "Gang of Four" stopped here on Saturday afternoon after the Blackhawks training camp festival. Nice airy atmosphere in this place. Exposed brick walls, dark wood, big brick oven towards the rear of the building. We ordered four pizzas. Margherita, Veggie, Sausage + Peppers, and the Meat your heart out pies. Our server asked us to be certain that we wanted four pizzas. We did. When the pizzas came, we then knew why she had asked us again just to be sure. They are pretty big and four pizzas would feed eight people. We were thinking that they were going to be more individual sized. Ooops on our part. The manager had to re-seat us from a booth to some tables since there was not enough room for the pizzas. He also asked about us, how we heard of them, etc. and explained that their pizza is a hybrid between a New York style and a Neapolitan pizza. Accurate description. So.........it was still a good choice since we got to try four different pizzas. As for the pizzas, very good. Nice crust with a little bit of that smokey, char flavor from the oven. The ingredients were very fresh tasting. All were good but the Margherita was the table favorite. Were they perfect? Nope. I have not found the perfect pie yet and what is the perfect pie? I will know it when I have it. My quest continues. Anyway, these were some excellent pizzas and I would definitely go back and also easily recommend them to others. Very good pizza, nice atmosphere, friendly service. Four stars in my book. Check it out for yourself. Cheers to All

Came here last Friday night around 6:30pm. Place is really big and wasn't too crowded. We sat right down. I noticed a lot of families with kids but definitely seems like a place to come with friends and watch a game. My bf and I shared the Spinach Salad (YUM!!!) and a large Diavolo pizza. Both were great and pretty big. The salad was super fresh, plenty of walnuts (some restaurants skimp on the nuts) and the dressing was super yummy. The pizza was delicious as well.. perfectly crispy and the toppings were really fresh. Definitely would come back. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive without being annoying. Bonus: Toward the end of our meal, I believe it was the owner came and asked how everything was and if we were satisfied. I like when owners do that, shows they care.

Great Pizzeria in a great neighborhood . Love the pizza and I also recommend the meatball sandwiches. Not a bad place for a drink, seems like this area has enough spots to walk around now. There were only one or two bars in the past, but now there's some good ones within a block of Serio's. Keep the good food coming.

If you haven't been to Pizzeria Serio, you're missing out. Seriously. This brick oven pizza is the closest thing I've had yet in Chicago to some of the phenomenal thin crust pizza that I grew up on out East. The plain pies are delicious, and the margarita is a great option as well. The Thursday night special is an absolute steal: $20 for a pitcher of Miller Lite and a plain pie OR $25 for any pitcher and pizza combo. It's fantastic, and I could easily eat an entire Margarita pizza and down a pitcher of Daisy Cutter and feel that I'm coming out on top. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed. Completely worth the trip westward from the Red Line.

Neapolitan American styled pizza pies made in a brick oven. A lot of times when I see these brick oven, wood burning, etc, mentions, I wonder as to whether it's really good or not at all. These pies are different to me than what is my traditional, deep dish or stuffed. I've been to many hand tossed spots and tried all these so called awesome joints and walked out still wondering, was that pie great? It's rated 5 stars, but I didn't taste them in the mix. Okay, that was a random rant. So, I travel through this area often and was lucky to come across a Groupon so I got one and that's what began my relationship with this pizzeria. I dig that it's one size suits all when it comes to pies. No thinking needed; a fifteen inch pie with about eight slices which you order as you like or order a specialty pie. There are many great options with tons of good flavor. If you happen in there during the cold season get a seat in the BACK!. It's where the oven is and where it's warm with nice smells. As far as parking, you're limited to the street, but that can be often found. It'd be good for you to bookmark this spot. If you have a chance it'd be worth it for you to check them out now, because I promise you they will be busier in the warmer weather. PS has a private party floor which is a second or third floor rise and has windows overlooking the street. If they opened up that area for seating during the warmer months, I'll have to forgo my usual pizza routines and make more visits here.

We really like the food here and the beer selection is pretty good. We usually order one of the specialty pizzas and an appetizer and we always have food left over. The reason this place gets dinged a star is because most times we go here it feels like I'm at Chuckie Cheese. I mean kids everywhere, running around, screaming, eating, just lot's of children period. I think the environment draws younger families, which is fine if you are in the mood. Personally if we are doing a date night we usually look for somewhere a little less hectic.

you gotta love it when a random grubhub decision leads to some pretty damn good pizza. I was over at my friend's watching the bears game and pizza was a necessary. I let my friend do the selecting and we ended up getting a sausages and peppers pizza. It had both green and red peppers on it. They also added some basil and it equaled a damn fine pie. The delivery was also pretty fast which helped aid in our hunger. Not a bad result on a random pick, gotta love it

If you are looking to host a private party in this area, look no further! I planned a birthday party here with about 50 guests and everything was great. The upstairs private room has a nice full bar, private bathrooms, booths and tables, basically everything to keep your guests happy! The food and service is wonderful. Highly recommended!

Wow, can't believe all the flak this place has taken. I concede, the lights could stand to be dimmed, and it's a tad sterile. But anyone who thinks this isn't top notch thin crust pizza is out of their damn mind. I'm from New Haven, CT, and think this is the closest thing in texture that I've ever had in Chicago. I had the Diavolo. Spicy, flavorful, legit... Just a good good pizza. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Well, it took me longer than I had hoped for to finally try this new pizza joint two blocks away from me. When I finally was able to get the bf to go with me (his idea, of course :) ) I needed alcohol desperately to try and forget the nasty kayaking accident I was in earlier in the day, so I gave him carte blanche to order whatever he wanted while I chugged as many glasses of wine as possible. We ended up getting the Big Cheese, which was a blend of four of five different cheeses - normally this is my favorite kind of pizza to get when checking out a new place because it gives me a chance to really taste the crust, sauce and general flavor of the pizza. It was alright. The sauce was fine, but I hate sauce that has chunks, or even worse, little slivers of tomato. The crust was really the best part. I almost didn't even want to write a review, because for the most part the pizza didn't really have a taste besides cheese-grease and crust - kind of like La Gondola. Everyone said it was really good, but I couldn't really TASTE anything when I had it, so I couldn't write a review. And, like La Gondola, I had to pile on gobs of salt, red pepper and parm just to feel like I wasn't inhaling calories just for the hell of it. I'll probably go back again though. The decor was really very nice, they had a good wine selection and they played music that was actually very pleasant, unlike neighboring Waterhouse and Pony Inn where I can't even hear myself talk without screaming over the latest jam from 103.5. They really need to expand their appetizer selection, they only have two options and both are cop-outs made with ingredients they have readily available - pizza crust and cheese. Final verdict - it has potential. And I'll take it over Frasca any day.

Went to a shower here. Ate off a pre-ordered menu. The food was pretty awesome. From the mini calzones (most notable), to the flatbread (solid), and the brick oven pizzas (downright good), everything was fresh with bright, clean flavors. Nothing was particularly unique or over the top, but it was good just the same. The employees were super friendly and accommodating. Only gripe--no liquor. And I really needed a bloody mary on this particular occasion...just saying...

We tried Pizzeria Serio last night and it was so delicious! The garlic twists were some of the best that we have ever had and the pizza was just as good. In a city known for deep dish, it is nice to have found a great place to get thin crust pizza. We will definitely be back!

The service was fantastic - and it was our servers first day! I was quite pleased with the level of attention - just right - not too much, or too little! The salad was good - basic italian salad. The pizza was decent. not even close to my favorite - but definitely edible. I had a groupon - so for the price with a groupon, it was a great value - but I won't hurry back.

We have lived in Chicago for about 10 months now and have been searching around for really good brick oven pizza. Well, we finally found it! We had both the pepperoni and margherita pizza. Both were amazing. The Italian salad was also fantastic. This will be our new go-to place for pizza!

Had delivery from this place tonight. I had such high hopes. The good. The caprese salad and the garlic twists were both really good and fairly priced. The bad. The pizza was terrible. It showed up cold and the crust was closer to cardboard than to proper Brick oven pizza. What a bummer. I hope it's better there than it is delivered.

i just visited Pizza Serio last night on a friend's recommendation, and i was really impressed. the place wasn't too busy, but i'm guessing it was more due to the 6" of snow than anything else - cause their pizza is FANTASTIC. i love thin crust, and theirs is possibly the best i've had in chicago. it's not too crispy, more chewy, not greasy or heavy, with lots of air pockets and of course the lovely wood-fired flavor. great sauce, not too sweet (you can actually taste the spices). we had the diavolo and the big cheese and both combinations were spot on. i love the super thin sliced onions and the hot peppers on the diavolo, and the mixture of cheeses on the big cheese. we also had the artichoke dip for an appetizer, which was creamy and full of big pieces of artichokes and spinach - i would add a touch more garlic and parmesan but it was very good. the service was great too - our waitress kept the glasses full, and was attentive without hovering. not sure if it would be the same on a game day or saturday night, but i'll be back to check it out for sure. i wanna eat my way thru their menu!

A Calzone w/ 1 meat and 3 veggies cost $22!! Ok, Not terrible it must be HUGE right? Nope. My 95lbs teenage girl ate the whole thing in one sitting. Very tasty, I am certainly not complaining about the quality but for $22 I would expect more. I am not one who would ordinarily complain about portion size. I think most places give you way too much but for the price, their Calzones are (tasty but) NOT a good value. *************************************UPDATE It seems they have lowered their price on the menu and either the calzone has gotten bigger or my little girl can pack away some food! My husband and I stopped in here one afternoon for something light. I told him that they were small and it should not fill us up. We each had a beer and shared a calzone and were both full! Very good quality. Can't wait to go again.

I start slowly....but then wait.... The thin crust is chewy not crisp... The elegantly spicy sauce.....I unhinge my jaws and immediately inhale the rest of the Pizza. Try the Diavolo with a couple of cold beers...Niiiiice

Pizza was burned, black on top of crust and bottom. Tasted like ashy carcinogens. Asked them to re-do and came out exactly the same. When I asked the waitress why it came out the same she said that's the way our oven cooks them (ummm okay?!?!). Then asked if our table can have a pizza spatula and she said they don't have them, but we could use our fork. What kind of pizza restaurant serves pizza without a serving utensil?? I guess Pizzeria Serio. The pizza would probably taste good if it wasn't burnt! If u like burnt pizza, then go to Pizzeria Serio.

Myself and a couple of girlfriends went to Pizzeria Serio for a midweek dinner and absolutely LOVED it. The staff was very friendly and our server was attentive. We split 2 salads and 2 pizzas. The Italian salad and the Caprese salad were both phenomenal. The Italian salad had the perfect amount of dressing, where as most restaurants drown there salads in dressing. We also had the Margherita Pizza and the Sausage & Peppas Pizza. Again, both were awesome. The crust was thin but chewy with the edges just a little bit crispy. Yum. And the sausage had such a good flavor to it, you could tell it was fresh. They also had a good selection of beers on tap. The only thing I would change is to have some dessert selection. My coworker also went on a Sunday for the Bears game and loved the food and said they have great TVs to watch the games.

I recently went because I purchased a Groupon. The host and the waitress were lovely. The male bartender (possibly the owner), was very helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Anyhow, the wine and beer were good and reasonably priced. The food was only ok. We got a half (Eat your meat?) and half (Spinach). The toppings were good and fresh, but not enough cheese or sauce on the meat half.

The pizza was really very good, but there are some other kinks that I'm sure they're working on...the service was a little slow, possibly because there was a tidal wave that left stroller-shaped debris. No really, it was like the mommy-n-me tour bus pulled up in front because in a matter of minutes this place went from a nice place for a glass of (BYO) wine to the ball pit at chuck-e-cheese. Now in all fairness, the fact that this place is good for all ages is not a bad thing if you're looking for a place to take your teenage daughter's soccer team, or your double wide stroller, but I would have enjoyed a little more quiet time with my salad. And while BYOB is awesome, if you're going to bring a bucket of ice to the table to keep my wine chilled, an actual wine bucket is in order. So while the hotel pan full of ice made me giggle at the time, it also condensated all over the table. Next time I'll go on a school night and bring red wine and then I'll add an extra star.

Ordered the Diavolo pizza last night and I LOVE that they cut their pizzas properly aka into slices not little uneven squares. I also loved the combination on this pizza. The hot sopressata salami was delicious. I do wish there were some bigger pieces of pepperocini but that was my only complaint. I felt that the crust was light and fluffy. I will definitely be going back to this place.

Went to Serio with a online certhficate. Had the mini calzones. Very good came with a great marinara sauce. Had the meat your heart out pizza. It was tasty and again loved the sauce. As its descriped its neopolamerican. I've been to naples, Italy and their crust is different. Friendly service and great beer selections. Will def be goin back to try other pizzas.

My boyfriend (who makes his own stellar pizzas, I might add) dubbed this his "new favorite." The bottom crust is thin, but still maintains the bubbly circumference that carb lovers crave. The toppings are fresh (real Italian sausage and thai basil) and the menu is simple. It has more of a sports bar feeling than I would have expected, but the space is also simple and welcoming. We arrived late on a slow Saturday and ended up staying after the servers had left chatting with the owner, Scott. Really nice guy who is passionate about his pizza and not shy to share his secrets, much to my boyfriend's enjoyment. It's a little out of our way to become a neighborhood spot for us, but we will definitely try to go back as often as possible.

I've eaten there twice now. First time wasn't a huge fan but I chalk that up to being open for a week and still getting the kinks out. The second time was awesome. I am not a fan of Chicago style or crispy crust pizza. I like my pizza thin a chewy and Pizzeria Serio definitely delivers. I love how you can taste the herbs on the pizza. I can't wait to go back since they have the bar open and I only live two buildings down. Also, I walk by and they always advertise specials and they are pretty good deals. I would suggest posting them online to get the word out.

If you live in Lakeview (...and even if you don't), you need to patronize this restaurant! Like other transplanted New Yorkers, this exile has FINALLY found a pizza joint in Chicago that does justice to the slice in New York style. Shoot, you can even watch the pizza dude TOSS the dough. I've never seen that done with deep dish or cracker crust! As for the service, it was friendly, courteous, and attentive without being either overbearing or neglectful. I did not experience some of the issues in other reviews. My only critical feedback for Serio is that they could stand to expand their apps offerings. The other is turn-down-the-volume-on-the-music! This is another venue with every hard finish they could find and then arranged them such that there are lots of sharp corners and angles. So conversation with your dining companions is difficult. Lots of shouting and leaning across the table. When I go out to dinner, I want to be able to make conversation. If I want loud music and shouting (neither of which is an aid to digestion), I'll go to a party. Besides wanting this local joint that eases my regular homesickness to be around for a while, we need more good restaurants in Lakeview, especially around the six corners area. (Have you seen what's happened to the blocks on Lincoln north of Belmont? It's tragic. And not that what's there is anything to write home about either.) And speaking of other eateries in the 'hood, I have to disagree respectfully & wholeheartedly with the reviewer who suggested that Frasca is better than Serio. First, regarding service, I've never gotten agreeable service there. It's always been characterized by long waits for a server to show up or check in throughout the meal and it has always come with lots of attitude. Should I be grateful that you've deigned to do what you're paid to do? As to the food, Frasca's pizzas are pretentious in that "gourmet" pizza kind of way. This means not only a different kind of crust and proportion of ingredients, but they're small & overpriced for what you get. Serio is serving true NY-style. So these restaurants, based on their food, are not comparable. Like apples and oranges. As any NYer will tell you, just because it's thin crust doesn't mean it's New York style. And doing a pie-cut doesn't make it so either (I've never understood the Midwest penchant for cutting round pizza into tiny squares. What's up with that??) I hope Serio soon lets you walk up and buy by the slice, slapped on a white paper plate for that fast eat-on-your-feet experience on the way to your next stop.... Uuh, homesick yet again.

what happened?...down to 2.5 stars... i excitedly brought a friend to try out my new neighborhood gem and left very disappointed and confused. the once delectable flatbread became a step above little caesar crazy bread. the thin, flavorful crust became more of a hand-tossed pizza reminiscent of childhood pizza parties. the sauce still remained delicious, thank goodness, but the toppings were scarce. the service definitely dropped a few notches. we arrived at 9pm with a 10pm closing time and their constant "how is everything going here?" (by 2 separate people) made it apparent that they were really, gentle indicators that they wanted to close shop. warning: don't bring white wine. they won't chill it for you. i get that they don't have their liquor license but all other byob's (who don't have their liquor license) provide buckets of ice. our server did accommodate by bringing out glasses of ice with our wine glasses. just a very disappointing experience that will probably force me to move on...

An Okay experience. Placed order on Livingsocial's new takeout & delivery options. Order was ready 20 minutes after set pick-up time. Sandwich was considerably smaller than expected. However, the 11" pizza was a little bigger than expected. Flavors were good except the pizza was EXTREMELY salty. Not to be funny but there was A LOT of extra salt on the crust... almost as if it was accidentally spilled.

Really liked the cold beer, great salad, and thin, hot Margherita pizza! Not a lot of atmosphere, though. Sports bar meets generic bland interior. And the service was just so so, even though the place wasn't very busy. Our waitress was very slow to bring our drinks, brought us the wrong salad twice, and then didn't take the menus or the dirty salad plates when she brought the pizza. Points for the owner or manager who made the rounds to the tables after dinner, but all he asked was whether dinner was "ok," which it was. This place is a work in progress. I would recommend this for take away only.

My girlfriend and myself had the opportunity to dine at Pizzeria Serio last night. All in all, we both agreed it is a nice addition to Chicago's artisan pizza credentials. The space is very nice; dark wood, low lighting, casual and unpretentious. We split the Caprese salad. Meh...it was just good. We both agreed that the mozzarella tasted good, but we were disappointed with the heavy-handed shake of dried herbs that overpowered both the olive oil and mozz. As well, a dusting of sea salt would have done wonders to it. On to the pizza. Only one complaint really....the size. Now don't get me wrong, it's a good sized pie, as 14' is the only size they offer. We both agreed that one size larger would be fantastic, as we LOVE to eat the hell out of some pizza. The sauce is fantastic. Pretty sure it was san marzano based or maybe just plum tomatoes, but it had that raw quality similar to Neopolitan pizza...tangy, balanced and super tomatoey. The crust was nothing to sneeze at, being perfectly thick, chewy and so flavorful. We had the Margherita, which was expertly prepared. All in all, I'd say this place has a lot going for them. Once they get their liquor license, they have a gorgeous bar. As well, they aren't in wood-burning mode yet on their oven, but apparently that's yet to come...a little wood smoke would really take these pies to the next level.

This a really good oven baked pizza. The crust, cheese, and toppings were all high quality. They have an Ok brew section but not to many on tap. When my wife and I went they were out of the two beers we wants(both in bottles). Service was ok, kind of slow. Go for the pizza and stay for the pizza. Everything else is only OK.

pros: pizza crust-loved the taste and how thin it was topping choices were great cons: spinach pizza was dripping oil They have no hot sauce. Who doesnt have hot sauce?? This place really had no ambience/decoration at all

I was really excited to see this place open! tried it out on saturday night at 6pm and it was jammed. We had a caesar salad and a margherita pizza which was more than enough food for 2. Food was really good and the price was right. Can't wait til' they get their liquor license.

Its tough to get me to rate 5 stars - the only reason I'm not giving them 5. My fiance and I just moved to the neighborhood and are big fans of pizza, good beer and inexpensive wine by the glass. This place fills all those expectations! We went last night with two other couples, and were sat right away. We were chatting with who I think was the owner - very cool guy. Our server was quick and friendly. The goat cheese stuffed veggies and mini calzones were great, the dressing on the spinach salad was FANTASTIC! We all loved our thin, wood fired pizzas as well. We'll definitely be back soon!

Like others from the east coast (Boston, specifically), I'm constantly on the hunt for great east coast-style pizza in Chicago. No, not pizza made on dough so thin it's like pita bread. Real, true east cost thin crust. With a crust. A nice, thick, bubbly crust. OH - and pizza that is pie cut. (Who decided to start cutting circular pizza into squares?!?!) Then appears Pizzeria Serio, and right down the street from me, no less! I've been twice since it opened and have loved it both times. We had the mini calzones both times for apps, and they were delicious! DEEEElicious! I've also tried the margharita, margharita con carne (sausage) and four cheese pizzas, and have loved them all. The staff was great both times too - super friendly and attentive. We talked to the manager the first time and told him how much we loved the food. He was super welcoming and appreciative of what we had to say. They have a good beer/wine list, and the prices are totally reasonable. The space is great - nice and big, and I believe they are opening the upstairs as a "sports bar." Looking forward to checking that out during football season or for a private party. Unfortunately, both times I was there the place wasn't that crowded. COME ON PEOPLE - GET THERE!!! You will not be disappointed.

Love it! There isn't a hip & modern pizzeria in the neighborhood, so it's a great addition to the local selection. Especially if you like Scooters Frozen Custard, which is steps away. The atmosphere is great, I love that it is BYOB until they get their liquor license, and the food rocks! Good pizza and appetizers.

As a fan of Brick oven pizza, thought I would give Pizzeria Serio a try. The pizza was cooked perfectly and came to the table rather quickly. I think the best part of the pizza was the sauce. Want to try some of the other speciality pizza's next time I go there as I with my son who only likes cheese pizza. Looking forward to a repeat trip.

We live a few doors down and run in to eat or grab a pizza to go all the time now. The pizza is absolutely fantastic. The prices are great. The owners are very friendly. My only wish is that they had a few more appetizers. But their Serio salad is very good to start.

We've been here at least six times since it opened earlier this year and my whole family loves it! A previous reviewer said they can't compete with Lou Manalti's or Gino's but they serve a totally different style of pizza!! I wouldn't want Pizzeria Serio to compete with them because I'm not a fan of deep dish - too rich.. Serio offers neopolitan, delicious pizza that's light, fresh with the perfect amount of cheese. Yum! My favorite pizza is the margherita and we never pass up the mini sweet ricotta calzones for an appetizer. They just updated their menu to include more appetizer and salad options. They've got some nice weekday specials as well.

Used a Groupon. Had never been there and hadn't even bothered to check out the yelp reviews before I bought the Groupon. The food was above average but not the best pizza I've had. The spinach salad was good, the mini calzones were good, but not amazing. We ordered the margarita pizza and it was fast and hot and fresh and not overwhelmingly greasy, which we both appreciated. Service was good, but here's the thing- SO MANY KIDS. We got there at around 6pm on a Friday night and there were SO many children. Little ones, big ones, running around, leaning into our booth, sitting watching TV at the bar (is that even legal?), KIDS EVERYWHERE. Nothing about the place seemed like it was geared towards kids and families and yet there we were, surrounded by noisy, badly behaved children running amok. It was like Chuck E Cheese without the games. If you are looking for a family friendly pizza place with reasonable prices I'd recommend this place for sure. However, if you are 20/30 somethings looking for pizza and beer and sports on TV maybe head there later in the evening or skip it entirely.

The food was quite good, but the service was not, so I'm deducting one star. The waiter was very...apathetic, I guess you could say? He wasn't outright rude, but was definitely not at all attentive or friendly. We waited a good 20 minutes after being seated before the waiter showed up again and there were only a few other tables occupied. Then he didn't even give me all my change back when I paid in cash...I mean obviously I'm going to leave him a tip, but it just seems a bit presumptuous to me to round up when they take cash for the bill. That being said, we really enjoyed the garlic twists that we got for an appetizer. We opted for the classic margherita pizza and were not disappointed. The cheese, sauce, and crust were all as they should be. However, I have to say that anyone that likes this place should try Spacca Napoli - it's similar but definitely better in my opinion. I would definitely come back to Pizzeria Serio if I was in the area again, but I don't think I'll go out of my way to come back.

Nothing special, my quest for great pizza in Chicago continues. Maybe it loses something in delivery? Not enough sauce, nothing special about the toppings.

I went to this place the weekend it opened. It WAS BYOB but it was because they didn't have there liquor license yet. We ordered mini calzones for the appetizer - they were good but the marinara was COLD! The pizza had really good flavor but they were very chincy on the toppings. The menu really lacks variety - all the items were in the "pizza" family. Friendly staff too.

Very Satisfied with my first and all my returning trips to Serio. Absolutely friendly staff, and the pizza is great. I have enjoyed how the pizza has been getting better over time. I think their ovens are starting to have a perma-pizza favor that really hits the spot. Have fun!

Very good thin crust pizza. Real good mozzarella. Better pizza than most places. It's real thin crust, the kind that you can fold and eat. Good toppings. A new fav near my hose (roscoe village).

Having grown up on the East coast, there has been a huge pizza void since moving to Chicago. Sure there's Chicago style if that's your thing, but Chicago thin (crispy flatbread cut into squares) is not my idea of good thin pizza. Enter Pizzeria Serio. Not too thin - not too thick - as close to East coast as I've had in Chicago. Hope this place sticks around!

Good food, slow service, but we were there on a Friday night just after a Groupon release, so understandable. The veggies and goat cheese appetizer was yummy, as was the pizza. Would definitely go back...

My wife took me here, as we are always interested in brick oven pizza places. We both really enjoyed it. I ordered the goat cheese marinara appetizer and it was great! No small pile of toast points here, they basically cut up an entire pizza crust for dipping. Yum! The pizza itself was good. It was bigger than expected, which is fine by me. We got the basic margherita, as it is usually a good way to tell how good a brick oven place is. We liked it a lot! Combine the pizza with the huge portion of the goat cheese marinara, and I had lunch for the next day. We will definitely be back!

food was decent but unremarkable. thin crust but not as good as many other places- the best being osteria via stato! avoid the spinach salad- over dressed and canned mandarin oranges are yuck :-p

Just returned home from this place after having visited as a result of the Groupon deal. First visit, last visit. Pizza is average, service is some of worst I have EVER experienced. There are way too many options in the city, and the north side in particular to be subjected to average pizza and below average, condescending service.

We had a coupon for 50% off our meal, so we finally tried this place. The menu is small, but interesting. The server recommended a spicy pizza, which was perfection. The crust was the perfect blend of crispy on the bottom, chewy on top. Most excellent! My only gripe would be the 4-cheese pizza--they need to offer one with blue cheese on it.

I was trying to be open-minded and optimistic but it only turned out to be a waste of time and money. Pizza Serio has a small menu only serving about 2 appetizers, salads, and pizza. The pizza only comes in one size with a bunch of toppings to choose from. I ordered two pizzas, one was mediocre and the other tasted bland with hardly any sauce. It was also WAY more expensive than it should be and I regretted not going to Pequod's pizza instead

This place has the ultimate best pizza in Chicago. I'm from Jersey which in my opinion has the best pizza, but this is a close second. The crust is cooked to perfection and the ingredients are super fresh and tasty. The staff is great and friendly and the owner is there hands on. Greatest pizza in the city by far.

I'm a big fan of this place. First off, Scott the owner is excetionally nice, knows my name and always says hello. That's good feeling, and it sets this neighborhood spot apart from others. The ambience is great, it is a great place for families with kids, groups of friends, or even dining solo. The pizza is delicious~ my favorite is the Margarita pizza, these are nice, very fresh, foldable slices, similiar to NY, but actually more like the pizza you'd actually get in italy. I really like their mini calzon appetizer and found the caesar salad to be authentic and good. all in all, I'm made this place my local pizzeria, and you should too!!

Wanted to love this place as new addition to neighborhood but disappointed despite multiple attempts. Ricotta/mozzarella turnovers absolute standout and crave worthy. Pizza missing oregano in sauce and sharpness in cheese. Just too expensive for experience.

My husband and I were visiting Chicago last weekend. Went to Pizzeria Serio because we were in the neighborhood and had read the good Yelp reviews. We loved this place! The food was excellent - you could taste every individual ingredient and each item we ordered was well balanced and pleasing. My favorites were the mini-calzones (still dreaming of them) and the Ceasar Salad. My husband's favorites were the pesto goat cheese flat bread and the margarita pizza! Wait staff was friendly and the ambiance was great! (Rumor has it, this building used to be a recording studio and Bob Dylan even recorded a few tracks there.) Saw families there and also young hipster couples. Nice bar area upstairs - it was being used for a private party that night but I still saw it and it looked great! My husband and I will definitely go back to Pizzeria Serio next time we're in Chicago. EXTREMELY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We heard good things about this place and tried it out ourselves last week and again less than a week later. Really good thin crust pizza, NY style. They're not trying to make chic arugula and rosemary pizzas...just quality NY thin crust pizza. Good fresh ingredients, chewy not soggy crust. Crust is everything in a pizza and they have a great recipe and cook it well in a real brick oven. No delivery yet, just take out or dine in, and the place is nice looking with exposed brick and dark wood tables. Clean, nice staff, definitely a winner and we'll be back.

pizza was good and one is more than enough for two people. but the menu is small and it says no substitutions on their specialty pizzas. where are we Arlington Heights? pieces of the salad were rotten and when we told the staff the manager comped the whole meal which was nice but was what should of happened. BYOB for now.
