Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

During my journey thru wicker Park I hada craving for some pizza. I'm familiar with the pizanos on State St and Madison, both of which I'm a fan of. So I decided to stop by the pizanos on division. This would be my second visit here. First visit was amazing. I had came in with a group of coworkers with the intention of ordering some pizza, our server was a witty young man who gave us the history of the family behind the company. Very intriguing. But of course the salesman in him appeared when he recommended a pasta dish. I had told him I was pretty set on pizza but he insisted. He recommended the Seafood Marinara and also recommended I add shrimp. I chuckled, obviously he would recommend the most expensive items on the menu. But I admired his persistence. To my surprise, i've never had a dish I would never forget like this one. The flavor, the texture, the company, the service, absolutely amazing. I couldn't Thank him enough. I believe his name was Manny. Thanks again. Second time around I wasn't so pleased. I came in with my family and requested Manny, but he wasn't working. Our server had the name of a stripper, but she definitely looked nothing of the sort. She forgot to put in our order, took forever for our drinks, and seemed to walk past us with out a glance. The bartender was unbelievable. Everytime the servers asked for a drink she yelled out "NO". It was obvious she was being sarcastic but the servers were not finding it funny. Something had changed in this place. Not for the better. If I would've yelped this location the first time around, hands down 5 stars, this time around i'd give it 1 star. So I'll even it out with a 3. Worth a try.

I love this pizza, but coming in on a Thursday was a choice I will not make again, the bar has young talkative kids, lots of kids and parents that press the ignore button, wish the back room or a kids section was open, just want to eat some za and talk with the wife. I have heard mama over a hundred times and pizza has yet to arrive.

Up until tonight, I've only had pizza delivered from here, which is delicious though I have only had the thin crust so far. Tonight was my first time dining in and the ambiance is exactly what you want a casual, old school Chicago pizza place to look and feel like. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. The real reason to come here though? The service. Every single employee I encountered was genuinely friendly and hospitable. The server and bus boy were very attentive without hovering. Polite without being stiff, and all steps of service were on point. It's such a breath of fresh air to come to a restaurant, especially a casual one, and get so well taken care of by truly nice people. There are 3 places to get pizza within a block of Pizano's which is (fortunately for me) close to my apartment, but even if it were all the way across the city, I would still make the trip regularly. Well done!

this pizza could actually be the template for weak-assed american pizza everywhere. $25 to pick up a 14" thin crust. over sweet sauce, vegetables and sausage chopped into a tiny unrecognizable pablum mess... eeeeeech! throw in an uninvolved counter-person for good measure.

I went here on Saturday as part of a large group (we all ordered off the menu) and the food was good, but not extraordinary. If it was my local Italian restaurant I would be happy, but I certainly would not travel all the way to the city to dine here again. The waitresses, service staff and manager(s) were very nice to deal with, pleasant, and helpful. Wait times for our food to come out were, as to be expected with two table sizes of 14+ a little long, but each of the tables food were all served at the same time and piping hot. Kudos to the kitchen staff to coordinate all the meals to come out that way! But again, in a city like Chicago, 'good' Italian restaurants are everywhere and this one fits that bill. If you live nearby, give them a try, but if you drive a distance to come here, you're probably passing others that are just as good if not better along the way...

Please tell me if I'm crazy. I look at the delivery zone map and I am within the area. I am located on dickens Ave just east of kimball and a block north of armitage. However, when I try to place an order online, it says I'm not in the delivery area. I call and they tell me I'm not in the delivery zone. I try to explain to the woman that the map clearly shows that I am. She transfers me to the manager who tells me the same thing. She says if I can place the order online then go ahead. I tell her I can't but that, according to their website we are clearly in the zone. She tells me again that we are not. REALLY? Do you not freaking know your own delivery zone or your website. That's enough for me. Pizano's, please hire some employees who know what the hell their doing!!! So I'll order from my regular place, LaVilla. There pizza is oh so yummy! So save your sanity and your time! Call LaVilla!

Last Saturday night I took 10 eleven year old girls for my daughters bday party. It was the second stop of our GNO!! The pizza was delicious. Our server Mike was attentive. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. They surprised the Bday girl with a delicious warm cookie/ice cream desert...then two more for the table .

Please do not support this chain. 1 star because they totally insulted me and my neighborhood. They "don't deliver west of Western". That's "out of their boundaries". They go miles and miles north and east but won't go west of western, which is 0.4 miles down the street from them. They choose to not serve Humboldt Park, which their business borders.

We tried the loop location years ago and the food was great. Moved a short ways away from the Ukrainian Village location, we've been there a few times and not overly impressed. Food is good, service is solid(though I must admit I have deducted points for a server who, upon returning to check on the table kept repeating multiple times "yummy yummy in the tummy?" Umm. Yea. Also I am not 3 so you can just ask me without rhyming, thanks. Better seating would be nice (the back portion's heat was not working in one instance so the host just kind of let us hang out awkwardly in the front room with a packed bar until a tiny freezing table near the server station opened; he comped our dessert to make up for it but it was an extremely chilly meal.) Overall; 7.5/8 our of 10

Tried to support the new pizza place in the area but apparently they don't deliver 6 blocks west to my block. Checking their delivery area shows a least a lack of understanding, probably shortsightedness and perhaps blatant discrimination. I have money and eat a lot of pizza. Too bad for them it will continue to be John's who have graciously delivered to me in Humboldt Park for years.

This place has the best pizza around and we come here often but this visit was awful! Service was horrible. We sat on the patio. I ordered a diet coke and received a regular coke. Not a problem but when I received the house salad rather than the Pizano's salad that I had specifically ordered. The waiter never came around once our order was taken as the food was delivered by other staff to even mention this. My no carb pizza arrived and I was never offered parmesan cheese (which usually comes with your pizza) nor did I see anyone to even request it. The waiter never came back to the table to see if we needed anything or to see how everything was at any point and we had to seek him out to get the check.

Thin crust pizza is amazing! The Pat Brickhouse (sausage and mushroom) is so delish! Service questionable, wines are way overpriced!

My family had a sunday dinner here and we had a wonderful experience. The service was fast and friendly. The decor looked new, clean and modern. The back covered patio was awesome! Our server was friendly and very helpful. We ordered several items off of the menu including the calamari, the pizza, rigatoni with sausage. Everything was delicious! The price seemed just right. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't expensive either. We really enjoyed our dinner and we will definitely be back!

While there was nothing wrong with anything here, there was nothing great either. I just think it's not my style of restaurant. The deep dish was good, better than Malnati's. But I'm still on the search for my favorite deep dish, having had it multiple times home made from a Chicago native. Our waitress was actually great, very helpful and took good care of us.

Went last night with my boyfriend and brother for a late dinner after critical mass. Our server was very rude, perhaps that's her personality, but as a waitress she should be able to make her guest feel good. I mean that has a lot to do with how she is being tipped. I ordered the stuffed chicken marsala and received the regular dish. I didnt say anything because i did not want to wait anymore. The person who brought the plates mixed them up so both my bf and brother ended up with the wrong entree. They both noticed after they began to eat. Do they know their dishes? The food was just okay. Would not recommend nor go back. I believe the servers name was Morgan)

I love the location on Chestnut, but the new one in Ukrainian Village, just doesn't seem as authentic. The pizza is always decent, but not my favorite deep dish in Chicago. I had friend a friend in town, and we wanted to stay local, so we headed down to Pizano's. We were seated on the nice front patio that was almost empty on a Wednesday night. We started with an order of calamari--it was really hit the spot. One of my friends and I split the medium veggie. It was plenty of pizza for us and even enough for lunch for the next two days. The pizza was pretty good on this particular visit or maybe I was really hungry. The server got a little bit of an attitude when my friend needed something explained. Other than that, I had an a-ok experience.

Location - Very nice; clean and new Service - overly attentive. Server was on top of us every two seconds. got annoying Food - Ordered a deep dish and a thin crust. Both were decent, but not best by any means. Pasta looked decent but pretty dang expensive for a chain pizza/pasta place. I wouldn't recommend coming to this location. I've been to the one on Dearborn and their thin crust tasted way better. Overall, ah big MEH... Also, 4 people, two med pizzas a couple of beers each and an order of garlic breat was $87 bucks! that seems a bit steep for what we got. They did however throw in a free cookie ala mode which was very nice. Seemed like they were hurting for business. I wouldn't be surprised to see the location close down. With so many great pizza options in the area, I don't think that they stand a chance.

Ok ok so we showed up at this location during a street fest but nonetheless, they had enough staff and the place is huge, and that's not my issue. As a fan of Pizano pizza, our pizza did not live up to expectations. It was tasteless and boring and overall a big fat blah! Our waiter was awesome, that's why I'm giving this place 3 stars but the rest of the staff are ridiculously rude. The bartender sure could hustle but the biggest bi**h I have ever seen. Typical snotty foreign girl. Lastly, the manager lady, or the woman walking around acting like she was in charge, could not have been a bigger snob either. in fact, I heard someone compliment her outfit and I swear her face would have cracked had she smiled. RUDE rude rude people! except our waiter Jamie and boring tasteless pizza. I'll stick to the state street location thank you. Blah!

Amazing pizza, but don't get the Caesar salad. $8 later and you have iceberg lettuce and croutons. Then again they aren't known for their salads.. Large thin crust pepperoni is where it's at. Boom.

    (4)
  • Casey C.

Pizano's Pizza tastes very good....that will account for the 1 star. After that, it ends quickly. 1 large pizza (more like a medium), 2 ingredients, a house salad, and wings...total bill for delivery, 56 bucks. This barely fed 2 adults. The salad, for 9.50 was all iceberg lettuce, 3 cherry tomato's, 3 thin slices of cucumber, 3 black olives and 2 rings of red onions...I bet there wasn't 70 cents worth of ingredients in this salad. What a rip off. I know they are in business to make a profit but the price is 30-40% higher than many of our other options. Pizano's, I'm out!

Came here for dinner with my husband the other day. We were both craving Italian, and as part of a pact to try all of the restaurants on Division in our neighborhood, we choose here. We didn't go inside because the weather has been quite favorable lately, so we sat in their outdoor eating area. The tables are nice. Not too close together. They have a cute little candle. Ours wouldn't stay lit, but whatever. The only thing that is mildly annoying is that there is a bus stop right on the corner where we were eating, so every few minutes the bus would pull up and interrupt our conversation. Also, people were just leaning on the fence while waiting for the bus. Our waiter, Chis, was extremely nice. He told us a lot of jokes and even told us the history of the restaurant. It's always nice when a server is informed. The food it's self was only okay. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and my husband ordered linguine and clams in a white wine sauce, he dded shrimp. It's $6 to add shrimp btw. I have def had better, and it was kind of pricey for the quality of food. I'd say the food is only 2 and half to 3 stars. For the price you could eat better Italian at a place like Scoozi's in River North. In fact, it probably would have been cheaper. Overall, it was only okay. I gave it an extra star for the service Chris gave us. He made the dinner experience for us.

I want to like this place more. It's cozy. Staff is friendly. I live nearby. But the food is kinda bland. I've been twice and don't think I've ever tasted garlic which you would think to be a staple in the kitchen. Find the spice rack and you're a 4 star!

This place is nice for its location. The servers are very attentive and helpful. However Their food is just mediocre at best. I had Ann Marie's Specialty Tortellini and it was pretty good, my gf had their Rigatoni with Vodka Creme sauce and it was just bland. We ordered an appetizer of Chicken tenders, they brought us a chicken tender meal with fries which was kind of bland aswell....weird? We even started off the night with 2 Peroni's and they took a good 15 minutes to getting them out to us with their frozen glasses which weren't frozen or much less cold at all (Ironically we were sitting less than 2 feet away from the bar.) Put some pep in that step for food quality!!!! and please give yourself time inbetween serving up the orders for appetizers and meals. We got bombarded by everything at once. If I feel up to it, maybe i'll try them again. I dunno

Great dinner last night! We ordered the Mark's Special thin crust pizza. It was delicious! Crust was perfect, full of flavor and crispy. The toppings were hot and fresh. One of the best thin crust pizzas we have ever had! Our waiter Manny was great. Very friendly and attentive. He provided crayons and paper and a special cup with a straw for our two year old. At the end of the meal we were offered free dessert, a delicious chocolate chip cookie covered in ice cream and whipped cream! It was so good! We thought everything was above average and will definitely be going back. Thanks!

I have ordered from this restaurant approximately 5 times in the past and have spent over 50 dollars each time. Tonight I tried to order and apparently I'm one block out of they're delivery area,TONIGHT. This was never a problem before tonight. Rude staff on the phone and the manager would not speak to us. Won't leave another dollar in this place again. On a positive note, the food was good the five last times they delivered to my address. Spent my hard earned money at Leonas instead.

I came here for lunch once since it's right around the corner from my house. Let's just say that the emptiness of the place should have been my first sign to walk back out. But I didn't listen to my gut and I was hungry so I stayed. The second sign for me to get out of this place was the appetizer, or fried ravioli. It basically tasted like the sole of a shoe - or more familiarly a microwaved pizza puff from Jewel-Osco. I paid $10 for that. I also ordered a blue moon on tap. It wasn't as bubbly as my usual experience with this beer and in addition to the staleness the bartender didn't even have an orange slice to garnish my beer.... that affects the flavor for me and it's not a great way to get a tip if you don't seem truly apologetic. And now comes the pizza. In the menu - which is not only super old and dirty looking- the place claims it has won many awards for best pizza in Chicago, and had Oprah say it's her favorite pizza etc. Well.... I don't know about that because you can't even find them on the general list of pizza places in Chicago much less on more highly ranked reviewers lists.... so I'm still baffeled by where their award credentials came from because the pizza I had was not only reheated but also gave me a stomach ache later in the day and also had a funky after taste reminiscent of an old people home. Can I say instant regurgitation? Only redeeming quality about this place?.... hold on give me a minute to think............oh! the pizza tastes a tiiiinyy notch bettter cold. ew. Just listen to me, I know pizza, and this pizza is more of an old peoples cracker for soup than award winning food. Neither the food nor the staff is attractive.

It's simply the best thin crust pizza in Chicago, period. When we heard they were opening a location right in our neighborhood, we were so excited you would have thought we won the lottery. My wife lived across from the Pizano's on Madison when we were dating, and we ate there *at least* once a week for the entire time. We always get the same thing: large half-mushroom, half-pepperoni with extra sauce. We are never disappointed. The have very solid pasta dishes as well if you're not in the mood for pizza. Service was always spotty on Madison, and decent at the State street location. After one visit to the Division street store, I would call it mediocre. But the pizza is so good I can't even subtract half a star for service. Hopefully they will flourish at this new location for a long time.

The PIZZA here is AMAZING. the crust is out of this world. Pricey, BUT worth it. This is our order out treat. We call the order in and pick it up. always. I have no reviews for their delivery or customer service. JUST FRIGGIN AWESOME PIZZA.

Visiting family in Chicago of course we had to have pizza, the wait at a downtown restaurant was way too long with a four year old. So we decided to head back towards the house. Ended up at Pizanos in the Ukraine village, which turned out to be perfect. The food was awesome but the service was truly wonderful. Jaime was Johnny on the spot. Thank you for a very intimate dinner we will never forget.

I have been a great patron to Pizano's on Division since they open, I have always had great service and food. I stopped by on Saturday 8/17/13 in the afternoon for lunch. I will start with the host showed little interest in sitting us, once we got sited; it took 8-10 minutes to get a waitress to come to our table. (I actually overheard 2 waitresses arguing who was going to take my table). After waiting the long wait (the restaurant was empty), someone came by our table to wait on us. She was very inattentive to our order; we had to repeat our order 3 times. We ordered the dip dish; she suggested an appetizer because it takes 30min to make. We ordered 2 drinks the appetizer and pizza, 40min. later a thin pizza arrives and we inform the young guy that the pizza was wrong, he notifies our brilliant waitress, she comes and says "Oh' yes Its wrong", and tells us I'm putting the order and it will be another 30 + minutes. At this point the lack of service and the fact that staff showed no interest in serving us, I ask for our check. She comes and apologizes and says "It's my off day and we are short staff, that's why I'm not focus" and says by the way if you want you can take the pizza home. Wow.... I did NOT take the pizza... I paid my check and left. I will not be visiting this establishment ever again. I will stick to the downtown location where they make you feel welcome.

Its in Wicker park, which has plenty of pizza places, in a town which has ( in my opinion) the best pizza in the US... Go here for the thin crust, which is semolina based, and cooked up crisp, but still sits a little thicker then most thin crusts. This place is decent, but a bit underwhelming by chicago standards... I want my pizza so good I cry in it, thus giving me a salty tear topping...I had no salty tear topping, but it was still pretty decent

The service and the decor were nice. But the food was unimpressive. The server said the "house Italian" was a big hit. I don't know with whom, but it tasted like it was from a bottle. Nothing special. The salad was fresh, but unremarkable as well. I had spaghetti with meat sauce. Yeah, but sometimes you just want some basic food. Anyway, it was mediocre. No flavor. No seasoning. Some salt (something I seldom add since most places have no restraint when it comes to salt) helped, but it still tasted like ground beef and a couple tomatoes. But the bread was pretty good. Maybe their pizzas are better, but I doubt I'll ever find out.

While not quite as good as I remember the downtown location being, there's still a lot to like about Pizano's. We started with some cheesy garlic bread, which went down super fast. The cheese was melted to perfection, and it was a great appetizer to tide us over while waiting for our pizza to cook. My brother and I split a deep dish pizza. It came out piping hot, and deliciously gooey, with a firm buttery crust. One word of caution, though; if you're going to Pizano's you'd better like garlic. Despite how good each flavor component of the pizza was, the garlic nearly overrode them all. Still, the combination works, and the result is a delicious pie. Wash it all down with a couple of strong cocktails, and you'll definitely be satisfied.

Best thin crust pizza in Chicago IMO. Large outdoor space, very friendly waitstaff. Don't understand the poor reviews can't imagine a better place to have a pie and a beer

As a New Yorker living in Chicago for 2 years now I don't understand the love of this very thin crust pizza cut into tiny little pieces. It just isn't a good pizza and I am not a fan. Pizano's gets 3 stars because it is the best thin crust pizza I've had here. The crust is thicker than most places make it which makes it easier to eat the middle part of the pizza in particular. But we got the Rudy special (sausage, onions, peppers and mushrooms) and with all those ingredients the pizza was bland, which to me was due to the sauce. Pizza is made to have good tasting sauce with a nice amount spread on it. This sauce was not well made, so unless I took a bite out of one of the toppings, the pizza was boring without it. The place in itself is cute but small and very cramped which made getting up with my ass in another tables face uncomfortable! Chicago please stick to your deep dish or learn to make regular pizza the way it was meant to be made. Thanks.

I have never written a review on yelp before, but this place convinced me to (and not in a good way). If I could have given this place zero stars, I probably would have. Let's begin with the valet. We pulled up and the valet is $10. He literally moved our car 10 feet up, parked and gave us back our keys. $10 for not really doing anything. And when we asked if we would get towed or ticketed, he said he would be there a bit longer and "nothing should happen." Not very reassuring. In hindsight, however, it was probably a good thing he parked right by the entrance so that we could get away from this abomination of an establishment as quickly as possible upon leaving. To begin, the host showed little interest in the fact that we were there and ushered us to our table without smiling. After waiting an eternity (mind you, the restaurant was practically empty), someone came by our table to wait on us. He immediately pushed the half off wine bottle special by taking the drink menu we had already moved to the side and slamming it on the table in between us. He said he would give us some time to look. Almost everything was between $15 and $20, and looking at other customer's plates, I wasn't confident it would be worth the price (and in the end, it wasn't). We decided to order the gnocchi and the stuffed chicken Marsala. I wasn't sure if the waiter heard me correctly, so I nicely confirmed my order by saying, the _stuffed_ Marsala is good you said, right? He said yes, the stuffed Marsala is good. He brought over bread. It was cold, poorly sliced, and the butter packets were stone cold. For $17 a dish, I was expecting better. When the order arrived (after waiting 40 minutes- again, no one in the restaurant) the waiter asked if we would like Parmesan cheese. My partner said yes, and he came back with the cheese grater. The side handle fell off as our waiter was grating, and cheese exploded everywhere. Not a big deal, but it was awkward to hear him say "we need to get a new one, we need to get a new one" over and over again. Okay... get a new one! Or learn how to use the one you have without it breaking. Things went downhill for the restaurant again when my partner and I both took our first bites. Very disappointing. Not only was the gnocchi luke-warm and crumbly, it was tasteless and seemed like something that would have been made by a dropout of the Chef Boyardee school. Or a cow's ass. Additionally, the stuffed chicken Marsala wasn't stuffed. It was just regular Marsala. Though it wasn't god-awful, it was still poor tasting. Not to mention the side of pasta, which was literally some pasta shells covered with sauce that consisted of watered down stewed tomatoes and Taco Bell meat. I told the server about the mix up, and though he was apologetic, he also seemed to think they didn't offer stuffed Marsala. I assured him they did, and he said he would be right back. He wondered off to talk to perhaps the owner or manager, and together they pulled out a menu to double check. Indeed, the stuffed chicken Marsala was there. He came back to the table, apologized again and said that he could get the correct dish to me- in 20 minutes. Not wanting to wait any longer, I told him the regular Marsala was fine, and he offered to bring a free dessert to make up for the mistake. It was a nice gesture, but a more appropriate response would have been to not charge me for the wrong dish at all. If anything, he could have provided me with a choice of dessert, which he didn't. All in all, the dessert turned out to be very Applebee's-like, which is fine- but not what you'd expect from a somewhat pricier Italian restaurant. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it, since I can only imagine what overpriced fee they normally charge for it (and I can almost assuredly tell you it's not worth it). The only positive part about this meal was that it ended. It's worth repeating that everything we got to eat was terrible, tasteless and substandard. Frankly, with so many other good, more reasonably priced restaurants in the same area, I'm surprised this place is still in business. Though they may have a flashy outdoor sign and some claims in the menu that Oprah approved their pizza one hundred years ago, do yourself a serious favor and avoid this place at all costs. I would never go back, even if I was paid to. Go somewhere else- anywhere else- and you will have a better meal and a more enjoyable experience.

Delicious pizza and toasted ravioli tonight! Plus amazing dessert! And great service always helps too. Good atmosphere, would recommend! Good date night or night out with friends.

First of all we were greeted by the hostess and she could not have been any nicer. The pizza was fabulous the sausage fresh and homemade. I saw so many things on the menu like the chicken marsala that I cant wait to try, Before winter comes we will go again its a hike there from Northlake. Well worth the trip, Food is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for quality,

So you call that Italian Pizza? No way. This place is very nice, staff is friendly and they have good drinks but let's face it - pizza sucks. It's eatable but still tastes like a one you bought in Jewel-Osco.

I love Pizano's thin crust pizza and have enjoyed it for years at their other locations. I have not tasted their pasta or sandwich selection yet. I'm excited a new location has just opened in my neighborhood. The restaurant is decorated w/Chicago sports memorabilia and has a nice big bar. In the warmer season, there is outdoor seating. Pizano's delivers until 5am on the weekends!! The pizza is great although more expensive than most. I also think, for the price, more ingredients should be included on the pizzas!! I'm a fan of this place and am happy to have a location nearby.

This is a sad update to make. For some reason on weekdays Pizanos has an absurd $20.00 credit minimum for lunch. Listen, Pizanos, it's not exactly like you're packing them in these days, and I could understand a more reasonable minimum, but $20.00 is reducilous. You've already alienated so many people in the community, clearly, based on YELP, and you should think about that, especially when Lou Malnati's (and My Pie a bit furtger down) is a hop skip and a jump from you, and who both have excellent customer service! Huge bummer, beginning to think that Pizanos is not long for Division.

If I could give this zero stars I would. I just paid $41 for an inedible pizza!!! Literally feel like I just got robbed. Outside the fact that they took over an awesome corner in Wicker Park with their cheezy signs, the PIZZA SUCKS! The think crust was made in one of the thick crust pans, was hard, the only thing that had "flavor" was the sausage and it was PINK! WP friends unite...let's get this shithole outta the neighborhood. Ban Pizanos today!!!

I had won a silent auction that was held by Elements Ballet and won a $50 gift card. My girlfriend and I decided to go in and give the place a shot. Because i hate typing out reviews I am going to keep it short and sweet. The hostess was great. When we we're sat at a two top the waitress made note that we had ordered a lot of food and suggested we move to a larger table. A suggestion I appreciate. The garlic bread was very nice. The calimari was too heavily breaded for my liking but good none the less. Our main courses were as good as could have been expected for the price as well. I'm a sucker for holiday cheer and the dining room was warm, comfortable and well decorated. The whole staff was very attentive and clearly worked as a team. Our waitress was friendly, engaging and fun but knew when to leave us to chat amongst ourselves At the end of the meal she boxed our foods and brought us a complimentary dessert that was certainly unneeded but very welcomed. I wish I could recall her name but we ate on Monday 12/18. The manager made sure to stop by and check on us as well. You've got a fan here. Note: I rate establishments based upon their being the best they can be at what it is they are trying to be. Nothing more. Nothing less. I think it's important that the Yelp community bare that in mind. You can not expect fine dining service at Pizanos. Randolph Avenue is a different story.

Thin crust pizza was delicious, might have to say better than Lou's. I'll have to go back and try the deep dish. Mimosa's were only $3.

Bluh. Overpriced and overrated. I can't imagine who would have voted this the #1 thin crust in Chicago - they must not have taste buds. Paid $20 for a "medium" thin crust pizza (2 toppings) that allegedly serves 3 and in reality was barely enough for 2 of us. Not to mention that it had absolutely no taste. Don't waste your time trying this place - there are dozens upon dozens of better pizza joints nearby and around the city. Really regretting that I didn't just heat up that Tombstone sitting in my freezer. And contributed my $20 to Pizano's hopeful research for a new pizza recipe.

Did not enjoy it at all. The thin crust was very hard and crunchy. Bland pizza sauce. The bread that came with spinach artichoke dip was very very stale.

Ugh, gross. We ordered a thin crust cheese pizza and a pizano salad.... 0 for 2. The pizza was cold, tasteless and stale. The pizano salad was a bowl of rusty, yellow iceberg lettuce and a half dozen pieces of chopped vegetables. Completely disappointed.

Stopped in for takeout and again to dine in. Service was slow at best - I waited over five mins to even place an order on the phone and then my wait time for ONE pasta takeout order was 40 mins. The staff was not apologetic at all and they forgot my bread, not that I'm complianing because the bread is horrific...tastes like a week old loaf from Jewel. Entrees were mediocre but not authentic Italian...nothing is homemade. You certainly don't get what you pay for - their prices are outrageous for how lackluster the food actually is. I also witnessed, on both occasions, an older woman yelling/screaming at her employees out in the open and I don't appreciate that as a patron. Good patio and music but not much else to draw one in. I won't be coming back.

I live down the street from this place so my roommate and I went down to grab a bite at this place. We ordered the calamari appetizer and let me say this was the worst I've ever had. It was tough and doughy and at 11.25 I feel robbed. Theres' no way this didn't come from a plastic bag that had been sitting in a freezer for 6 months. I ordered the lobster ravioli for my entree. Again, the quality was significantly lacking. I feel like this might as well have come from a can. My roommate had some pasta with shrimp and vodka sauce. He's currently in the bathroom... from the sound of things it doesn't bode well. Simply put, this was the worst dining experience I've had in this neighborhood or anywhere else for that matter. It was over priced, disgusting food. In two words I would call this "diarrhea food".

    (1)
  • Julia M.

Worst pizza ever! I can't believe that anybody would honestly like this pizza...way over priced, no flavor and a horrible thin crust texture. The chopped salad was equally as bad. Please save your money for real pizza places such as Coal Fire, Piece or Santullo's.

The food is amazing! I love, love, love Pizano's pizza. It's all in the crust. Now to move on to the most spectacular part of Pizano's...their service! The service staff are attentive without being overbearing and the manager, Nora, she is wonderful!

I'm pretty please I don't have to go to the State St location any more, since the new place is now walking distance from my house. They have great thin crust sausage. I can't comment on most of the rest of the menu since that is about the only thing I ever order from them. Also, this one does not get as slammed as the one on State so it's pretty easy to walk in and sit down.

We've been here 3 times and I will say the deep dish is better than the thin crust. I am usually not that into deep dish being a lifelong Chicagoan and all, but here it is special. The Rudy's special is loaded with sausage and lots of veggies and the fresh whole milk mozzarella really sets the tone. A large will set you back almost $30. It's worth every penny. We have had the bruschetta, toasted ravioli, and calamari. All are excellent. There is plenty of good beer and the wine list, while not huge or anything seems to be decent for a pizza joint. For dessert, our waiter comped us the famous chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. I believe he overheard us talking about our anniversary and brought it out. Talk about sin. This is one of the most sinfully delicious desserts ever. If you're just going for a beer or 2 bring cash. There is a minimum of $20 for credit card usage. By law restaurants can request it but they can't enforce that. I guess when you have to pay a few grand for that spot each month, you really don't want to pay all those credit card fees.

The pizza is yummy. Unfortunately the chef made the wrong one. The service is okay, not great. It seems like they know they are messing up the dining experience but continue to be less than satisfactory. It seems like a good place to bring kids. Overall after I redeem my free coupon I will be unlikely to return. There are too many excellent pizza places in the city to go to an a-okay one.

This place just opened a few weeks ago. I'd never eaten at their other locations but was glad a new pizza place opened in place of Crust (which my wife and i were quite a fan of and sad when it closed). We got a medium pan pizza. I thought the crust was wonderful, i didn't think it was hard at all. The sauce is up there for the best sauce i've ever had. They also have a full bar with pretty good beer selection. If you live in the area, give it a try.

We celebrated my niece's baptism this past Sunday at this venue. From the moment we met with Nora we were confident this was the right venue. She was very helpful and quick to answer any of our questions. She also allowed us to bring in any decorations and linens. The location was great. The event room was a good size with peaceful decor and great natural lighting. I can't say enough about how great Nora and her staff were to us. They were extremely helpful in setup and throughout the event. Our guests were very pleased with the service and food. Being in the events industry, I was very impressed with the professionalism and creativity of the staff. I would recommend this space for any intimate gathering. Thanks Pizanos!

it's hard for me to rate the food at this location because by the time we got there the kitchen was cloSed. but what I would like to comment on is the service. we walked in at 1 am looking for pizza and unfortunately we couldn't order any za, we had a wonderful 8 minutes hanging out with the host who I actually think was the manager. my friends and I may or may not have indulged in quite a few cocktails before scouring for a half pepperoni half sausage. when we found out that wasnt gonna happen, we started yelling. downright yelling and making a scene. it was all fun and games- but I will point out we were acting like total assholes and the guy was completely kidding around with us and laughing and joking. we were so obnoxious to the point where we kicked ourselves out. even though we couldnt get pizza at the time, I have nothing but great things to say about him and this location. I will def be back of actually eat the za here. we did manage to take half of their supply of mints and they were okay that.

I really love their pizza. did think the prices were a little high, but I got the individual Pan Pizza (which you can make any way you like), and did not even finish it. I think it was 6--7$. GREAT option when you can't agree on pizza toppings. SO Delicious. And the service was wonderful. our server offered us free dessert, so do save room for that. The back room is lovely and spacious. Really enjoyed this place!

I love trying new restaurants and after the buzz I heard about Pizano's I was excited to try it out.......and thus sorely disappointed. The best thing I can say about this place is its decor (5 stars). The service was average (3 1/2 stars) They have several microbrews on their list but the server did not know his beers and could not describe them well or suggest a good one. They must have asked me 5 times throughout dinner if I wanted another beer, I only wanted one. I don't like overt salesmen as my servers. The food (1 star), we ordered wings which were nice and crispy but a bit dry, I prefer my wings saucy not just dry rubbed. Also ordered thin crust pizza which was bland. The crust is very crispy like a thick cracker, has good flavor but the texture is all wrong. The sauce is flavorless, as if they just opened a can of diced tomatoes and put it in the blender and called it done. We won't be coming back, there are several better places in the 'hood. Wish we'd gone and spent our money there. Oh yeah, the prices are super expensive $37 for one beer, wings, and a medium pizza that fed 2 people. (the menu says it can feed up to 3 but that would be a stretch).

We were excited to try a pizza at this new location. First time customers. We ordered a pan pizza, and the crust was flavorless, and hard as a rock. I mean, we couldn't even cut it! I asked our server for a serated knife, and she brought me the kitchen's knife, with like a 12" blade. Anyhow, we didn't like the pizza AT all. We love Lil Guys, Edwardos, Lou Malnati's. But the pizza here pales to these powerhouses. We would go back to try something else, but definitely no more pizza. Which is too bad, because they have a great location, and it's a nice restaurant. Just not the place to go to get your pizza fix.

    (2)
  • Mike K.

Lou Malnati's kid brother opened his own pizza place, and the pizza is ALMOST as good as Lou's. The crust is similar, but less buttery. The sausage is good, but less plentiful. the sauce is OK, but blander than his brother's. This is an OK pizza, but if you have a taste for Lou Malnati's pizza, why accept second best?

I recently had a birthday party in the fabulous new back room of Pizanos. The Pizanos staff and the very helpful party coordinator, Nora, were amazing. I brought birthday decorations over early and they set them up. We brought birthday cake in and they provided candles and cut up the cake for everyone. There was a great piano player, Stan, playing songs on request. The food and drink packages they offer are a deal and I had a great time. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great food and drink deal.

Have eaten pizano's 5 times. Three times pick-up/take out. Twice dine in. Have eaten our last pizano's tonight. Three out of the five meals have been fair to poor. Tonight got wilted steamed broccoli and baked mostaccioli - no cheese and no evidence it was baked. Last time the pizza was bad. Too bad. They are nearby and came with some fanfare. The ordering person required many restatements to understand the order. Don't eat here. You'll be disappointed!

So disappointed in this place and was so excited another restaurant took the space of what was formerly occupied by Crust. Can someone please explain to me how in the world an Italian restaurant, not to mention a restaurant along Division street, doesn't have a kids' menu not to mention crayons or something----anything--- especially when you have white paper on your table (think Maggiano's)???????????? It was packed and you could barely move. Yet, the main woman was circling. It was annoying. The food, eh, I agree, when there is Via Carducci (no kids' menu either but not the same type of restaurant). I think they need to pay attention to the customers. Not going back any time soon and so bummed since can walk there.

    (2)
  • Anthony P.

Ok...so we got the deep dish. This is a very wet, juicy pie. It's almost like they dump a can of chopped tomatoes over the pizza. It's not bad, but not great. If you compare this to Lou's, the pies at Lou's are a bit more robust and flavorful. If Lou Malnati's is your favorite, there's a chance you may not be overjoyed abt Pizano's. Will give this another chance sometime down the line. Maybe we caught them on an off night.

Last night Nora and the team at Pizano's hosted my birthday party. We did the pizza package with the cash bar, everything was wonderful. Pizza was plentiful, service was fast and the ambiance was perfect. If you want to cram 30-40 of your friends in one spot, their party room is the place to do it. It was easy to set up and a very good deal.

Came from Atlanta and wanted to experience real chicago deep dish pizza...this is NOT the place to come!! Their deep dish was not deep dish by any means and it was served cold! When I told the manager about my true experience he followed with a free beer for me and my friend....Not a good chicago pizza experience! There are far too many choices to chose this place... Keep moving

This place has a family feel! I loved the all the deep dish pizzas and the service was great! I don't remember the pizzas we ordered, but we ordered a few to share throughout the table and I enjoyed them all! We had a large party and they were SUPER accommodating!

Wow, what a sh*t-show. Came here at 1:30 and didn't get our food till almost 3. There were 5 other tables besides ours so wasn't really busy. The waitress took our order down wrong. Some of the items didn't even show up. One of the veggie items we ordered came with meat instead. It's almost like the staff came in drunk and couldn't figure how to get anything done. Also, avoid the deep dish. It isn't deep, it isn't very good, and it takes 35-40 minutes to come out. I don't know what's worse, the anticipation or the taste. I'm giving them 1 star because they have chairs and tables. That's as good as it gets apparently.

To be fair I came here to see the hawks win game 6 of the Stanley cup so your mileage may vary. We had a group of 8 and got seated right away but it seemed like the servers and the kitchen were swamped. It took about an hour for our thin crust pizza to come out and about 20-25 minutes for a salad. I know on a regular night this probably won't be the case though. The pizza itself was solid. It had this great buttery crust that reminded me of a Lou Malnattis. That's one of my favorites so they scored points there. Plus the price was right. For eight of us we split three larges and it ended up being a pretty cheap nIght out. Didn't try their deep dish so can't comment about that. If you're in the area I'd say it's worth a try.

True story: my friends and I wandered into this place 4 minutes before the kitchen closed and ordered a pizza. After waiting a bit, a waiter came over to tell us our order hadn't been put in before the kitchen closed. I whipped out my phone to find another pizzeria on yelp but the waitress saw the dreaded app and ran back to the kitchen and made them stay open. I was not giving you a bad review, Pizanos, and I'm sorry we inconvenienced your staff. The pizza was damn good and obviously your service is impeccable.

My mother-in-law, my husband and I threw my brother-in-laws surprise 30th bday party here this past weekend. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the room we had, the food and the service! Nora was in charge and she was great. She made sure everything was going smoothly. The servers were great too- very friendly and quick with our drinks. We had the room in the back. Very large, big screen tvs, a full bar, tables/chairs, a retractable roof, and and outdoor area also with tables & chairs. I think we had about 70-80 people there and it was never too crowded. Food was awesome. We did pizza as an appetizer, then two different salads, rigatoni with vodka sauce, chicken and sausage with peppers and cheese raviolis. Delicious! Thanks for such a great job on the party, Pizanos!

I really was looking forward to eating pizza from Pizano's again. We ate at the Madison location a couple months ago and it was delicious. I recently ordered from the Division Street location and we were sorely disappointed. Our pizza arrived fast and hot, however the sausage was under cooked and it came with almost no tomato sauce. It just wasn't as savory as the one we had at the Pizano's on Madison. I wish I could give a higher rating but I can't.

This review is for carry out on the week of 8/29/15 to 9/2/15. We have had the thin crust pizza delivery before with no problems and the pizza was good. I ordered ~46 dollars worth of food for a carry out order; a deep dish pizza, a house salad with dressing on the side, bruschetta and a baked soup. I was told it would be ready for pick up in a half hour. I promptly showed up half hour later and waited for the receptionist to greet me so that I could pay. She was busy on the phone. I think the wait and service staff was short on this evening because I was the only one in line and waited nearly 5 minutes before speaking to anyone or paying. I paid and was told it would be out in 2 minutes. 15-20 minutes later I got the food. There wasn't a bartender working to serve a drink while I waited. Essentially, was told it would be ready in 1/2 an hour and it was ready in about an hour. Mind you with no one else waiting for pick up and only 3 tables with folks in the entire place. The food: The pizza wasn't bad. It could have been hotter which was strange as I waited to receive my food for quite some time, but the quality was what I've come to expect from Pizanos. The house salad was joke, especially for 5 or 6 bucks. The bruschetta was pieces of practically burnt bread with a container of tomato and basil that we had to lop on ourselves. This was the worst display of 'to-go' bruschetta that I have seen. Sbarro probably would do it better. Lastly, the soup was not what we ordered. They have a baked option for their soup and this was clearly soup just thrown in a container. My wife said it was okay, just not what she ordered. To top it off, the food made us sick that evening and the following day or two. Not a pleasant experience at all. I may continue to order delivery, but I'm not getting a to-go order or taking friends and family in there. Too many other options in this great city.

Having passed by Pizano's many, many times, my pizza craving eventually had to be realized. We came here a Monday evening and we were seated immediately. We noted that there weren't many other people dining here. Service: Our waitress was sweet and we were well attended to, but she was a little odd. It's hard to explain or put my finger on it! There were no issues with our service, though. We were able to order soon after arriving and our food came out in the perfect amount of time. Decor: We came here in December, so the holiday madness was in full swing. Pizano's was no stranger to partaking in the madness--which I absolutely loved! There was a candle at our table and there were tasteful Christmasy decorations everywhere with a red theme. I'm not sure what the regular decor is at Pizano's, but this place was definitely decked out for the season. Before we walked in, noted that it looked *awfully* cozy inside and we were not disappointed! Pizza: I'm a big fan of pizza (my favorite is Lou's) and I thought Pizano's held a candle to other competitors in the city. We split a medium (serves three) and we finished it! The sauce stood out to me as being light and fresh. The crust was crispy and fluffy and fairly insubstantial. I didn't feel guilty at all or overly stuffed after eating here, which is a huge positive for me. (Giordano's slays me and is filled with regret.) We ate an affordable, delicious meal here. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience dining here. I wouldn't say this is the "best" pizza in Chicago, but I would certainly venture to say that it is worthy enough to be ranked in the top 25%. Pizano's is a place I continue to pass by many times, so I can almost guarantee I'll be back. Pizano's is head and shoulders above other nearby pizza places in Wicker Park, such as Armand's Pizza. If you're in Wicker Park and you're looking for deep dish or pan pizza, look no further than Pizano's!

I've been here a few times or of convenience alone, as it's very close to my apartment. I've dined in once and otherwise, I've ordered online (my favorite because I dislike talking to strangers on the phone). Maybe I'm a pizza snob as someone from the Chicago area who calls pizza his favorite food, but I'm not entirely impressed by the quality of Pizano's pizza. It has way too much cheese and not enough sauce at all. The sauce is sweeter, which I do really like. However, it's not very plentiful, which I do not like. Also, it's kind of pricey to add on extra ingredients and they aren't too bountiful, just like the sauce. The crust is decent--not too hard, a little buttery and crispy. It's not my favorite, but it's easily the best part about Pizano's pizza. The service was kind of off when we dined in once. The waitress was a little scatterbrained and not very attentive to us even though the place wasn't very filled. My experience when ordering online was also a little confusing because it doesn't tell you the exact time that it's supposed to be ready for pick-up. I had to guesstimate and it was ready when I arrived, though I worried a bit that it might not be piping hot. I will definitely continue to be a customer here because it's extremely convenient and is also the best pizza in my area. If this weren't Chicago, I would consider it above average pizza for sure. The crust will keep me coming back!

I just started writing reviews and this is another place that I wanted to go out of my way to write about as soon as possible. There are lots of great pizza places in Chicago and this review is going to seem geared towards the staff and atmosphere as a whole but the food is never disappointing, always on point and we have had much of the menu. The pizza, all styles, I find to be fantastic and I have never lived anywhere outside of the Chicago metropolitan area so I have eaten my fair share. I have had a wide variety - pequods, uno, giardanos, lou m's, ginos, salernos, coalfire, etc. I would have no hesitation ordering Pizano's among all of those. To get to the main reason I am writing this review - as a couple with an 18 month old, this establishment has been a refuge for us. Whenever we needed to get out of the house, have some food and maybe a cocktail with our kid in tow, Pizano's has been more than welcoming. The owner/manager, who I have seen written about in other posts has never been anything but genuinely sweet and so nice to our child. No exception with the staff as well. They let him run around, make a complete mess with his food, throw crayons all over, and have welcomed us back every single time. We feel so comfortable coming over here and it has really been beyond helpful. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I think this place gets passed up sometimes because it is not necessarily artisanal or a vintagey neighborhood spot. But I think this is a great example of a neighborhood spot - somewhere you feel comfortable and welcomed. Highly recommend this spot and will continue to in the future.

One time for awesome customer service!!! Put your hands in the air- wave'em like you just don't care!!!!!!! Here's the thing about me. If you are polite and offer great customer service, I'll come back, even if the food is not AWESOME. My daughter and I decided to get pizza from here since it's down the street from the salon we go to and it was a nice day out. We sat outside and our waiter was super nice!!!! I'm writing this review late, so I don't remember his name, but the customer service was great and I would go back. I just wouldn't order the pizza... I know, I know, this place is known for it's pizza. I was fine with the toppings, it was the crust I had a problem with. It just ....tasted funny to me...I wasn't impressed. This place is a little pricey. What I paid for one pizza, appetizer and drinks, I could have come home and ordered a pizza from the home spot and at least enjoyed my food. HOWEVER...I am willing to give the pasta a try, should I ever decide to visit again.

Love this place! Great food, service and pizza! I wish their specials started earlier for people dining with kids. Also miss the desert bar they had. Went went monthly and the kids loved the desert options!!!! Bring it back!! Great beer too!

Went to Chicago with no idea about deep-dish pizza, except that I had to try some. In the lead-up to my trip, I asked friends who had visited before which place to try and received no consistent answer, so at that point I figure we'd just figure it out on the fly. That was essentially what ended up happening when we popped into Pizano's Pizza late on a Friday night while perusing the late-night dining options on Division Street, many of which were unimpressive. Pizano's was a veritable ghost town when we were seated. The friendly, approachable waitress let us bide our time deciding what to order, and had a few interesting suggestions too. My friend and I ordered a Mark's Special (sliced tomato, basil and garlic) and an order of bruschetta, both of which were awesome. The pizza was really delicious and the buttery crust was memorably good. I also found Pizano's beer and wine list to be terrific, and was particularly fond of the Southern Tier Pumking beer on draft. Overall, I thought Pizano's was a great option and I found it to be an excellent choice for deep-dish, especially late night. With affordable prices and friendly staff, this is worth a try if you're in the area.

Delicious pizza. Cheesy garlic bread is so good. Get the chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Lots of street parking.

I'm a native Chicagoan and love all sorts of different styles of pizza but the pizza from Pizano's is the absolute best! I've been attending monthly meetings at Pizano's with Father Dan Brandt. We gather to share in a wonderful evening of lively discussion and great food. From the moment we walk in we are made to feel like we are family. Our servers are some of the kindest and most attentive people I've ever met. Another great feature of the restaurant is how the windows facing division open all the way up to give you this great feeling of being one with all the action up and down Division street while still having the comfort of having a roof over your head. I can't recommend Pizano's enough. You Will LOVE IT!!

Pizano's Deep Dish should be called Shallow Dish. The pizza was slices were not cut properly. I ordered Spumoni ice cream at the counter and asked for it twice. When I get home to find out I received vanilla ice cream. Very disappointed on this whole experience this was my third and final time to dine or carry out at your establishment.

First time here, had a delicious Rudy's deep dish, chicken parm and meatball sub. Manager asked if we enjoyed the meal and when we told her it was our first time dining there, she gave us this ice cream cookie sandwich on the house!

I came here with a couple of friends for a girls' night out. It was out of convenience why we picked the place. It was one of the coldest nights in Chicago and we had to decide quickly. My friends work at St Mary's and this is a good 2 mins away. Ambiance/decor was just ok - casual but way too dark and noisy for a week night. I don't particularly pay attention to what a restaurant looks like but I had a hard time focusing and listening to my friends. I think they packed the place way too tight. Service was meh. Our server was friendly and helpful; he was quick too but we were the only ones at first. As soon as other guests arrived, service just got slower and slower. He forgot one of my orders and it took 20 mins for him to give us the bill. Food was ok. I ordered the giambotta but wasn't too keen about it. It had more peppers than sausage and I like my sausage. -_- I actually prefer Cibo's version. The saving grace for me was the angel hair pasta with the aioli sauce! Oh my goodness! Exactly the way I wanted - garlicky and just enough oil. I would come back just for that. Overall, it's ok. Not my go to Italian place but for the angel hair with aioli, I will go back. :)

I wish I could give zero stars. Ordered from this location tonight hoping for some good pizza and garlic bread. 3 of us were going to share 1 large pizza, 1 order of garlic bread, and 1 order of mozzarella sticks. All Items arrived at a temperature between cold and lukewarm. They forgot to include an item, and the delivery was 10-15 minutes late. Waiting an hour and 15 minutes for a pepperoni pizza and a couple sides, only to have it show up cold is a huge letdown. We live approximately 3 minutes driving from the restaurant (probably should have ordered pick up) but with so many pizza options in the area - there is no way we will order from here again. I wouldn't recommend them to you either.

I've been trying to get here for about 6 months now so we FINALLY made it!!! The location is pretty cool we didn't wanna deal w/parking issues downtown. We dined in on Saturday afternoon, after a funeral. We ordered Mimosa's which were on sale for $3 bucks!!!! Score there!!! We also got MaiTini's which were tasty too. We got the thin crust sausage, pepperoni, & mushrooms pizza & an Italian Beef. The pizza was good, but the crust lacked flavor & the sauce wasn't as extra as I like on my pizza. The beef was good. They even cut half & dipped 1 half for me which was nice! The wait staff was very nice & accomodating. I'm gonna go back & check out other dishes.

Previously did delivery here, but on September 28th I ate in and that was a major improvement. Thin crust meat-laden pizza was great, and the service was very accommodating given that three kids were part of our party. The chicken/house salad was only average but if you stick to pizza, you'll be good to go.

Love Pizanos thin crust pizza(terrible salads though, the chop is decent enough) One star because they clearly discriminate by not delivering .4 miles directly west of them on division over the boarder of Humboldt park when they deliver miles in every other direction. I hope it changes soon, and then I will be happy to up my star rating.

The meeting spot and the first stop on the Pizza tour was Pizano's. The place was pretty empty since we were there around 11 am. The staff was nice although I had to ask multiple people about the pizza tour but they didn't seem to know about it. This was the first stop of the morning (before I had breakfast) so I was super excited and hungry. They gave us two different types of pizza; one slice of the deep dish pizza (the tomato, basil, garlic) and the tavern style pizza (choice between sausage or mushroom). This was the first deep dish slice I had in Chicago and it was pretty good (mind you, I was starving too). While you could taste the freshness of the tomato slices, I really wanted more of a sauce to balance all the cheese. Still, I enjoyed it. I got the tavern style sausage slice and this was actually my favorite of the bunch. I really liked the texture and crunch of the crust. The bf thought it was stale tasting but I thought otherwise - it was in between crispy and chewy and I thought it was great. Pizano's provided us with enough pizzas that many people could have additional slices. Pretty filling for the first stop of the pizza tour. I'd stop by again for the sausage slice.

When I walked in I had a mix of emotions. It is clean and shiney with lots of red and sports memorabilia and it was dark and had a candle lit feel which was nice. The front window was huge and opened all the way to let the outside in. We were seated in the hidden back outdoor area. It was great to be able to sit outside since the front was packed, but there was a bit of a chain restaurant feel that I couldn't place my finger on. The red fountain with the change light colors and the piano guy singing the beetlejuice song, made me feel like I was in the late 80's movie. But once we got settled into conversation, I enjoyed the atmosphere overall. The service was fantastic! Our server was personable and helpful. As apps we tried the garlic bread and bruschetta, both of which were good. We tried the deep dish veggie pizza and it was good. Bottom line: If you are looking for Italian/pizza in WP/Ukranian village, this is a safe bet for a nice meal.

I would like to leave a review about the food and drinks, but I cannot. One would think that when a sign says a place is open between certain hours and you arrive during those hours; the front door is open; and you can see the bartender and server laughing with friends through the window, that a place would be open. Too bad that is not the case for Pizanos. We tried to go tonight and got turned away despite pointing out that the sign said they were open. When I asked why we were being turned away, i was rudely told that "they were just closed, just because." Im sure the managers and owners would love to know that their servers are turning away customers so they can hang out with their friends at the restaurant bar. I don't really care if the food is good, I won't come back.

Boom.

Thanks!

Lou Malnati's kid brother opened his own pizza place, and the pizza is ALMOST as good as Lou's. The crust is similar, but less buttery. The sausage is good, but less plentiful. the sauce is OK, but blander than his brother's. This is an OK pizza, but if you have a taste for Lou Malnati's pizza, why accept second best?

it's hard for me to rate the food at this location because by the time we got there the kitchen was cloSed. but what I would like to comment on is the service. we walked in at 1 am looking for pizza and unfortunately we couldn't order any za, we had a wonderful 8 minutes hanging out with the host who I actually think was the manager. my friends and I may or may not have indulged in quite a few cocktails before scouring for a half pepperoni half sausage. when we found out that wasnt gonna happen, we started yelling. downright yelling and making a scene. it was all fun and games- but I will point out we were acting like total assholes and the guy was completely kidding around with us and laughing and joking. we were so obnoxious to the point where we kicked ourselves out. even though we couldnt get pizza at the time, I have nothing but great things to say about him and this location.

This place has a family feel! I loved the all the deep dish pizzas and the service was great! I don't remember the pizzas we ordered, but we ordered a few to share throughout the table and I enjoyed them all! We had a large party and they were SUPER accommodating!

Keep moving

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
