Ordered online and wound up being painfully disappointed. By the time my food arrived (almost an hour after ordering), the cheese on my pizza had pretty much solidified, the crust was painfully soggy, and my fries were greasy and soggy and their only saving grace was that I could drown them in cheese. Really, the only reason I'm tacking on a second star is that, flavor wise, there's definitely some potential, but not enough to make me ever consider ordering from them for delivery in the future.

I don't ask for much, but a hospitality vendor needs to be hospitable. Our group of seven came for a quick evening meal. Asked for bread and never got it. 6 entrees were prompt, but one was forgotten and the absent minded server never noticed; then blamed the kitchen. Only the older gentleman server notice 6 of us not eating out entrees and then informed ours. We expected a prompt correction but sat empty forked and waiting. Fucking gnocchi took 15 minutes to remake. Thankfully we liked our fellow patron and fed him from our plates like a Salvation Army. Redemption was denied when they still charged us $16 for the gnocchi. And never delivered any bread.

Spaghetti marinara was on point - 5 stars. Pizza was okay - Ordered a thin crust mushroom, pepperoni, onion... Onions were a little thick for my liking, but thats pretty subjective. Overall will definitely order from them again.

We purchased the cheese deep dish slices from here and I honestly loved it. If you want delicious, authentic, melt in your mouth deep dish then this is the place I would recommend. I was full from one slice and we got to eat it outside on the chairs. I will definitely be back to grab another slice!

Owner, if you are reading this I simply have one suggestion based on my experience tonight (which was my first for these dishes on your menu), More Sauce. More, More. On the Spaghetti and Eggplant Parmagian. Received both of those a few minutes ago and they are both as dry as a bone (and for an Eggplant Parmesan...all you really taste then, is the oil. Skimping out on the sauce is skimping out on the best flavors. I was disappointed.

This is speaking for delivery only, since I have never dined in. Paninos is my boyfriend and I's go to delivery spot. We love the thin crust pizza, their baked rigatoni and panzerottis especially! The fried food can be really hit or miss. Sometimes they are perfect and crisp and delicious, other times they're a soggy mess. But other then that we have never had a problem!

The atmosphere of the restaurant was very cute and quaint. We started with $8 martinis that were very good. They brought us out bread as a starter, both regular and focaccia. I had the chicken Parmesan which was good, not the best I've ever had though. My girlfriend and her friend split the Capriccossa pizza, cooked well done without tomato sauce. Pizza was very well done, would recommend that. I would be happy to come back and try other items on the menu. Another great place to go if you are looking for family owned with a nice atmosphere.

Our go-to pizza place for delivery - always get our pizza piping hot and amazingly fast. We always order the thin crust with a variety of different toppings and it is perfect every time. On occasion we stop in for a quick slice or a sandwich (they have a few seats outside) or we go to their sit down restaurant for the absolutely best wood fire pizza in the city. Top that all off with gelato for a perfect meal. Delicious!!!

This place is a complete joke. Ordered delivery online. Driver couldn't figure out how to use the buzzer. Calamari was soggy, cold and not edible. Fries... the same disaster. Cheesy beef... warm, but 1 piece of cold dry beef... awesome. $14 Ravioli - There were 4! Cheese Ravioli at 3.75 a ravioli better be at least hot, but fear not it was ice cold, bland, and not memorable in any way. Called and asked for a refund, got $10 off. Customer service is not in their training program nor is good food anymore. Too bad because I used to order from this place once a week at one point. Stay away...stay far away.

Amazing food for an Italian take out. Be sure to try the daily specials, you won't be dissapointed at all. If you like thin crust pizza, they got it. Hands down the best. For a little more romantic atmosphere and table service, pop around the corner (W Waveland Ave side) and enjoy some great ambiance and more relaxed dining. By far one of the best selections for Italian in the Lakeview East area. Dont be fooled because its a hole in the wall place, you'll be sorry you missed out! Thank you, Yelp! This is the new benchmark for the next time I return to Chicago. This is some of the best pizza sauce I ever had, and that includes New York as well as deep dish. The cheese was good, the crust was nice and crispy, the toppings were well represented. Overall it was a four-star experience, except that sauce just raised everything to another level. I can't imagine eating deep dish without Panino's sauce, so I have to donate that extra star. Side note: Don't expect to eat here. There's a lounge, but it's separate, and it's only for people ordering out of the lounge. If you're a pizza dweller, you're eating outside or bringing it back to your cave. It's a slight negative, since Chicago's weather is often not conducive to outdoor eating, but fortunately I was able to eat outside, and again, that sauce. That sauce. I dream about that sauce. I would drink a gallon of that sauce if the only reward were the satisfaction of having consumed that sauce.

We've been living within a few blocks of this place for 6 years and I regret saying that for the first time recently tried Paninos. We picked up a pizza that was extremely good. the thin crust was cooked to perfection with a crispy bottom. It was great for leftovers also! I highly recommend pickup or delivery.

I was fortunate enough to live in walking distance of Panino's. 5 stars for great food for a good value, having a private parking lot, and for never disappointing. One of the big factors that make me love this place is their Arancini, which I just call their "rice balls" ha. I would buy these from their case, $1.50 ea. They're basically balls of rice, stuffed with sauce, beef, peas, and cheese, and then breaded and deep fried - they're seriously so addicting so take caution. I love their neopolitan pizza - if you have the time to wait for a custom pizza, order one of these rather than grabbing by-the-slice. The crust is so much better and more brick oven-y. They also offer daily specials - I've enjoyed their baked ziti with ricotta. I also am a fan of their clams & linguini in which you can choose white or red sauce. My roommate loved their Bosco Stix too. I see now that they have baked clams as an app, and I'm mad that I'm not eating them. I've never dined in. I think that their menus are different, and the takeout items are less expensive.

I ordered delivery via Grub Hub earlier today. The delivery time was pretty quick, especially for deep dish pizza. I ordered: Sicilian Deep Dish w/sausage, bacon, and pepperoni, an order of Bosco Sticks, and a Brownie. The bosco sticks were a nice throwback for me. I don't think I've had those in at least ten years. Probably will be a while before I order them again, but hey. They tasted good. The pizza! This place came up on here and GrubHub as delivering to my place, and since I haven't had it yet-I opted to give it a shot. I liked it. The Sicilian type deep dish was a nice split the difference pizza for me. The crust had more of a corn meal taste to it that reminded me a bit of Gino's East, but was quite different. The toppings were fine as well. The Brownie...was disappointing. I think it was karma telling me not to order a brownie for lunch delivery. It was literally from a Sara Lee snack pack box...one of those individually wrapped on a piece of card stock Sara Lee (not joking) brownies. I thought they'd be something more homemade than that-at least from a local-ish bakery. However, meh-I learned.

Very average, but reasonable. It was one of the first meals my wife and I had in Chicago, although I wouldn't say it was especially memorable. We both ordered pasta, and liked it, but didn't find it to be all that special. My wife could have made a better pasta herself, so I didn't think it was a very good value. First time I tried this place I was real happy w/ a to go order of soup w/ a slice of pizza. I decided to try them out for lunch delivery today and ordered off the special list from THEIR website-http://www.paninospizzeria.com/chicago/Âpdf/PaninosChicagoMealDeals.pdf We ordered spaghetti w/ 2 meatballs-$9.95, a Boston Cheese steak w/ soup-$6.95, an 8 piece Chicken-$12.95. That adds up to $29.85 probably another $4 for delivery and tax,no more then $33 or $34 total. The guy I ordered from was rude and curt the whole time and then tells me its $42. I went over the listed prices and he tells me I'm wrong and proceeds to tell me the "correct prices" are you KIDDING me???? I order takeout 3-4 times a week but never from here now!

It's probably my favorite deep dish in the city. I always order take-out. The staff who answers the phone is very polite. The food is done quickly and correct. I can't really say too much more than that. I like their cucumber and tomato salad and I usually get a medium deep dish with sausage, green pepper and onion. Everything is really good.

Just got my order. Spent $47.67. The Pizza was good and very pleased. The Diet Coke was good and very pleased. The chocolate chip cookies were 3" circles (I measured) of the cheapest ingredients possible. Cookie fans: you know exactly what I mean. $1.20 each (ordered two) The cheesecake was a tiny triangle in a prepackaged air tight plastic container that looked like it came straight out of a vending machine. The triangle had 2 sides that were 4 inches and the base 2 inches. ($3.95) And finally, the boneless chicken wings. This was small bits and pieces of random chunks of deep friend chicken (I hope). This made even chicken mcnuggets look like caviar. Horrid. $6.50. Besides the pizza and diet coke everything else went directly into the garbage. Beware. I wish grubhub would have pictures of exactly what you were ordering....

The food is decently priced. However the pizza isn't all that spectacular. It was really greasy and the white sauce was barely on the pizza. The atmosphere was relaxed, our server was quick to check on us. However once we had our food it took her forever to come back to us to check in and we wanted to leave and pay. I have to be honest-I don't find pizza to be very exciting. My company orders it for meetings frequently and I dread it every time. With that said, Paninos is unlike any pizza I've tried before. I had a simple new York slice of sausage and it was packed with all the right flavors and a great texture. For the price you can't beat it. I conveniently just moved to the neighborhood. I ordered from these guys for the first time, yesterday. The delivery person was prompt and friendly. I ordered a medium, thin crust, deluxe pizza and a spinach salad. Much to my surprise, the pizza was fabulous! Perfectly crispy crust and correct balance of all the ingredients! Super fresh and the high quality is amazing for the price point. The spinach salad was abundant and super fresh. The goat cheese was also exceptionally fresh. I am super impressed! This will now be my regular pizza place for thin crust! We found Panino's by googling pizza places in our new area and we definitely got really lucky with the find. This has become our go-to pizza delivery on the weekends - we usually get a thin crust pepperoni pizza. The crust is crispy but not paper thin, and we both love the sauce. We've ordered a few appetizers and sandwiches from here which have been fine(club wrap is good, the buffalo chicken sandwich is just so-so) but pizza is definitely their forte. I definitely recommend this place for pizza, we have never been to a restaurant location but plan to soon!

This place has the best pizza in edge water. I would have given it 5 stars but I had an awful experience with delivery that it left such an awful taste in my mouth. I ordered a large pizza and the delivery guy couldn't find my apt which is in a very accessible area. Long story short the delivery guy was arguing with me on the phone and finally he found my place but decided to leave the pizza on the steps outside my apt complex. When I looked out my window I saw him double parked smoke a cig and drive away quickly. When I called him up and asked him why he didn't bring it up he said to call the restaurant and they would take care of it. To some it up, great pizza but the managers/owners need to be more selective hiring the delivery people. Being a business owner I could never continue to have a successful business if I didn't have a good staff.

The pizza was good, arrived on time but was stone cold. We ordered the Neapolitan-style pizzas and reheating made the dough chewy. Perhaps if we reheated in the oven it would have been better. But if I wanted to turn on the oven in this weather, I'd have cooked myself. So if want pizza that's good AND hot, search on.

There are two sides to Panino's, the restaurant and the delivery/take-out. This review is for the restaurant side off of Waveland. We've lived within walking distance of Panino's since 2007. Loved it then, love it even more now. They have updated their look as well as their menu. They continue to improve upon their food choices. They now have a pizza oven that made one of the best Parma Pizza's that I've ever had - it was East Coast style and wonderful! The baked clams were also very good for an appetizer. Give the restaurant a chance, you'll enjoy it.

I've been a happy customer for years. Usually I order take out Lasagna, which is as good as it gets, and a great value (huge portion, that can be used for two meals). At times I'll stop in and sit at the cozy bar. Or surprise my friends for a quaint and comfortable dining experience where you can hear the conversation, enjoy delicious food and be pleasantly surprised when the reasonable check is delivered. Today, however, I had to write!!! I tried the Escarole and Sausage Soup. I thought it was a great night for some take home soup! It was outstanding!!! ...and I'm very difficult to impress. Don't think twice about this hidden gem in North of the city.

I live right down the street from this location and the food is always consistent. I've ordered pizza, pasta, sandwiches, burgers and all have been pretty good. The best thing I like about this location is pizza by the slice. Quick, easy and tasty. Can't go wrong with either thin crust or deep dish. Great crust. Order is always fast and food hot. -1 customer service. Some new girl acts as if you are inconveniencing her for picking up an order. First she was watching tv as I stood there. No eye contact. Swiped my card, gave me my food without saying a word. Weird.

After recently moving to Lakeview, we decided we wanted to start trying new places in the hood. What started innocently enough and with the best intentions ended up with "I've had better frozen pizzas." Although you did delivery during the 45-60 minute window you gave us, $20 for a cold, sloppily presented (I should have taken pictures, but pieces were stacked on top of each other from shifting around) 10" pizza was a little ridiculous if you ask me...Especially since it seemed like the pizza had been sitting on your counter for the last 30-45 minutes before it was delivered Sorry Panino's, we really wanted to love you. The people are very nice, I haven't been there in awhile. The pizza tonight I didn't love, it's that Neopolitan type. Kinda soggy and burnt. It seems they changed their recipe. It used to be crispy and perfect (to me), I don't like this new style at all. Still a nice place but sorry, it doesn't seem like they offer the other type anymore, which I liked. Salad etc. is good as usual. Is it me or did they change?

I needed a place big enough for 20 of my crazy friends to all enjoy dinner with my friends on my bday. The yelp app helped me find this gem that I'd NEVER even been to in an area that I love to party in! A month before my bday I went up and checked out the restaurant. I was shocked when I got there because there are NO SEATS inside to dine in!!!! #GurlBye I just drove an hour and I was annoyed until I learned the dine in section was on the other side of the building!! #Gotcha the Inside was kind of cute & cozy. I asked the manager would he be able to accommodate 20 people, and he said yes he would set us up in the back corner. #Success The manager asked me to make my reservation, and I said I would be right back I wanted to go to the carry out side and try the food first to make sure it was up to snuff!!- I wanted to taste their food BEFORE I brought my friends!! #HoldUp #NoSurprises The pizza was FUCKING awesome!! The slices were huge! I had two pepperoni pieces. I went back to the other side and made my reservation. The manager said he would call me 2 days beforehand to confirm. ************FAST FORWARD TO 9-10-13 (2 days before)************** No phone call?????!!!! #WhatHadHappened?????!!! I called Panino's to ask why I didn't receive my phone call?? The manager NEVER PUT MY RESERVATION IN!!! Thank goodness I called cuz I would've been madder than a son of a bitch if I showed up and they were not prepared!! (#FINISHHIM) They handled my group well! I was so pleased! We were all fresh out of a party limo, and had been drinking for an hour so everyone was tipsy!! The waitress took my bday cake and brought it when we were ready for it. They offered to put candles in my cake but I don't like blowing over a cake I'm sharing with everyone. Especially if I'm tipsy lol!! We will leave saliva out of the equation! I had the pepperoni pizza again, and you better believe I ate out of my friends plates! I tried gnocchi, calamari, another fancier pizza I can't remember what kind it was, and some bodies egg plant dish!! I had other stuff as well but I can't remember. I also drank quite a few Stella Artois!! We spent two hours there, and spent 500 bucks. I didn't get to try the homemade gelato, but I will in the future!! Check this place out!! What can I say... GREAT pizza. I made a mistake and went to the front side because I wanted to sit and eat... However they only sell whole pies and meals for a couple of people. Nothing that will feed just one person. Disappointed I went to the back side and order from the take out counter. (Oh if I forgot to mention they have two sides, one is a sit down restaurant and the other is a take out counter) NEWHO, I order and sat out side to eat. IT WAS GREAT. Panino's is the closest pizza joint to my house, I'll stop by to grab a slice here & there from the carry-out section, but lately I've been trying to make myself visit the sit-down side more often. First, they start you off with that amazing bread basket featuring warm & toasty focaccia, olive oil & parmesan. So. Good. I also LOVE that they now have the Neapolitan style pizza... if you know me at all you know that I prefer my pizza to be thin, crispy & bubbly. Panino's does not disappoint in this department. I usually get the pizza that comes with arugula on top, and it is so tasty. Prices on the pasta dishes seem a little high to me, but the pizzas are right on target. I've always had good service here, and during the summer they have a great little outdoor patio. Granted, it isn't in the nicest location, you get your choice of looking at the interesting clientele that like to hang by the Center on Halsted, or the side of the Brown Elephant. But, whatever. Bring me a glass of wine & some of that pizza & call it a night.

My father was born and raised in southern Italy so I know good Italian food when I eat it. This place is more than just its pizza, although the gourmet pizzas are very good--if you eat in be prepared to wait a good half hour at least for a pizza. The food, mostly southern style, is very authentic and good. Don't let the small dining crowd fool you. The sheep are elsewhere being "seen" and eating crappy fake Italian food. This is the real deal, what your Italian relatives would make for a holiday meal. Lunch menu is very good too. I'm deducting one star for the horrible service, but that's not Panino's fault--seems all over Chicago service is atrocious, even in the high end establishments on Michigan Avenue and River North. It's so bad I think the city needs to address it.

This place is fantastic! 1 - I've had a sit down meal here in the restaurant portion with my family and it was fantastic. The wait staff was nice, the wine was delicious, and of course the pizza was so yummy! We got a couple appetizers that were definitely big enough to share! 2 - My fiance and I get a slice of their to-go deep dish at least once a month. It's fantastic, fast, fresh, a great price, and they always smile when we walk in the door! The only other thing I can say is besides the slices it's a little pricey in the restaurant portion, but I think the amount of food you get, and the quality is worth it. YUMMMMMMM

All around great food & service. We ate on the dine-in side and the atmosphere is so relaxing after a long day of running around the city, they had nice music and good lighting. Staff is extra friendly and makes sure you are taken care of. We ordered the Caesar salad, the Margherita pizza, as well as the Salumi pizza to split between us. As a huge fan of Caesar salad I must say this is one of the best I've ever had, great dressing, croutons, etc, not too heavy. Pizza is to die for if you're like me and like a little thinner pizza, both the Margherita and Salumi were exceptional.

Panino's is both a restaurant, on Waveland, and a take-out pizzeria on Broadway. We have frequented both. Their pizzas are delicious and really what they do best. You can't go wrong ordering one from the take-out / delivery service. The restaurant is nice as well if you want to eat out. I would still go with the pizza though as not all of the items on the menu are the same quality/freshness as their pizzas. The absolute best part of the restaurant is the head waiter, Valentino. He is worth his weight in gold and I sincerely hope the owner realizes this! He has always made us feel so very welcome and taken excellent care of us. He remembers your previous orders and is an absolute pleasure.

I've ordered thin crust Canadian bacon, pineapple, and jalapeno pizza. the crust wasn't cooked all the way, each topping cost $1.75 but the quantity and quality didn't worth that much. (pineapple and jalapeno were both canned ones....) I wouldn't order pizza from them again.

Wow. Grub Hub and I just shared a speechless moment of astonishment over the phone on this one. Where should I begin this woesome tale of horror? Let's make a bullet list, as my tongue goes numb... 1) The order was not the amount quoted on GH. There was a mystery soft-drink tax added despite there being no soft drinks ordered, and the sales tax was calculated differently than the original order as well, making the total even higher than anticipated. 2) I went out of my way to call and request a phone call before the order arrived at the building so I could prepare, as I'm taking care of someone, it was important. They said NO PROBLEM ABSOLUTELY. Not only did they not call, they didn't alert grub hub that it had even been delivered. 3) It was 52$ before tip for food cheaper and less appetizing than Mickey D's. There were waters, 2 juices, & a few desserts, however. Still, food is definitely overpriced. 4) Extremely cheap food. Low quality Orida style frozen fries. Heartburn. VERY Bad! Boneless chicken wings are glorified chicken nuggets. Cheapest stale white bun you can buy. 5) The chocolate mousse cake which was tiny and 6$ REEKED STRONGLY of pest killer/rat/roach spray. So much so everyone leapt backwards when they opened it because the smell floored them. I'm really hoping I don't end up in hospital! I could go on, but I'm feeling rather nauseous now, best go say hi to my porcelain friend. Help!! *Grubhub was very kind*

Amazing service at this small Italian restaurant with the most delicious gluten free pasta dishes and pizza we've had in the city. We ordered a grilled calamari starter, that was nicely cooked with a soft (and not too chewy) texture. This was followed by a simple, though flavorful Margherita Pizza with a crisp and not too thick crust and a mixed seafood pasta dish with a lovely red wine sauce over perfectly prepared gluten free pasta. This was followed by a sinfully rich hazelnut gelato with caramel sauce and whipped cream. The staff was so friendly and eager to accomodate my wheat allergy and they capped our wonderful dinner with a shot of amaretto licor, on the house. My only complaint is that hte food was so good we ate it all (we had ordered hoping for leftovers) and were super full. We will be back to this lakeview gem! Oh and lastly, on our way out the door I forgot my purse and the busboy ran out after me to make sure I did not go home without my purse! Wonderful food, lovely people, great service. What more could you want?

Step 1. Rent the 1996 movie Big Night starring Stanley Tucci and Tony Shalhoub. Step 2. Salivate over the timballo (or timpano) dish that they prepare and serve during a pivotal scene in the movie. Step 3. Visit Panino's (or order online, as we did) for their meat timballo (served with sausage, meatballs, and mortadella). Step 4. Thank me. (Of course, you could skip straight to Step 3 and be very happy.) I left out a step of my own personal journey, which is where I searched and searched for timballo/timpano in Chicago. I'm sure there are other establishments that have it, but Panino's was the first place that I found, and I could not be happier with the finding. Timpano is a baked pasta dish served in dough and resembling a cake or pie-shaped calzone, and Panino's timpano is delicious. We made the (tasty) mistake of ordering two -- one for each of us -- assuming that $12.50 was a personal-size timpano. This resulted in several meals of leftovers. We ordered online, so I cannot speak to the decor or service at Panino's (although our delivery guy was very friendly). I can only say that their food was great and it hit the spot for this dish. We also ordered cannolis, which were quite large and pretty good, although I was already in a food coma by the time I ate mine. Bottom line: Try the timpano here. There are three other varieties to sample if you're a vegetarian or want something a little less meaty. One is a good size for two or three people.

I have order take delivery and takeout from Panino's several times since moving to Chicago and I am very happy. We've tried the Neapolitan style pizza, eggplant Parmesan, chicken saltambuca and the penne primavera. All were delicious and satisfying. The margherita pizza was perfectly thin and crispy yet soft. Very good crust. The eggplant Parmesan is one of my favorites for delivery. My guy had the others and he was very content. Delivery is also quick. The delivery guys are always polite and prices are totally reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

On the outside, Panino's looks like a typical pizza place. On the inside, it's a cute Italian cafe with amazing pizza. We ordered 3 of the artisan neapolitan pizzas: salumi, rustica, and parma. All 3 had crispy crush and quality toppings. I don't even think it's fair that I even pick a favorite -- I enjoyed all of them! In addition, nice atmosphere and great service. You can really tell that a lot of love goes into that place. I'd definitely recommend Panino's.

My review is based on their gluten-free pizza option. Can't speak at all to their other pizza options cuz I can't eat 'em! As far as the gluten-free pizza goes... It's made on Udi's frozen gluten-free crust. Don't get me wrong, Udi's is an awesome option for those of us who can't eat wheat-based crusts! But when it comes from a pizza joint, just TELL me that it's gonna be made on Udi's. That's all I ask. I'll still order it from you. But if you tell me that it's Udi's, I'll know to turn my oven on and heat my pizza stone ahead of time, because for some strange reason pizza joints just can't seem to figure out that you need to pre-bake the Udi's to prevent it from getting soggy in the middle. Annoying. The sauce was good. The cheese was good. But the Udi's was soft in the middle. Imagine that. Cheers for offering a gluten-free option, but I beg of you, please be open about it coming from a pre-made frozen crust. Oh, I also ordered some tots. They were totally unseasoned and soggy, too. Lame.

The food was already cold when it arrived- cheese completely coagulated on the pizza. Soup was barely warm. $20 for a 10" pizza and a soup, which are both no longer hot after delivery, for some reason. Okay, so I call the restaurant to explain the situation, to get hung up on. I call back and the 'manager' begins yelling at myself over the phone saying that 'that's not how things work' and that 'there is no way the food is cold we said it would be there within an hour and it was' Last time I checked, saying that your food will be there within an hour, generally means that it will be there within an hour of being placed, not after coming out of the oven. They offered me a discount after arguing for about 5 minutes, I said keep your discount, your food is alright, but not worth terrible customer service. A customer of nearly 4 years gone over one mistake and a terrible restaurant owner's unwillingness to accept responsibility for his employee's actions. Make what you will of this review.

The pizza is terrific. It's arguably my favorite delivery spot in Lincoln Park/Lakeview. HOWEVER, the delivery times can be ridiculously long sometimes. I've definitely been told "45 minutes to an hour" and waited over an hour and a half before. If the food wasn't so good I'd seriously never order from here again. That said, the food is really good; the specials are really good; etc.

Donuts are the new pie and pie was the new cupcake. That's all fine and dandy, but I don't really have a sweet tooth. It seems like the only savory trend that caught on recently was bacon and bacon is so 4 years ago. Ladies and gentlemen...allow me to present...ARANCINI!!! Say it with me. AIR-UN-CHEE-KNEE. For those of you not familiar with Sicilian food, arancini are little balls of fried rice, which are stuffed with filling. The classic filling (which is what they carry at Panino's) is bolognese sauce, mozzarella cheese and peas. The peas are what make it Sicilian. At least, I think that is what Giada De Laurentiis said on her show. I usually only pay attention to her boobs. Anyway, arancini are amazeballs. I hate the word "amazeballs" but how else would you describe balls that taste amazing? It would be very easy for me to make several innuendos in a review about balls, but I will take the high road because I am a lady. (Stop snickering) As for the rest of the menu, the pizza is better than most. It's not my favorite, but it will do in a pinch as they always have both thin and thick slices available for takeout. But they also always have arancini available, so why would you not just order them? If you go in and don't see them in the heated case, just ask and they will fry you some up. They also have a very respectable gelato selection at a fraction of the cost of Whole Foods across the street. Arancini are the next cool thing. I predict that soon more restaurants will offer their own take, as the filling possibilities are endless. Be ahead of the hipsters and buy some arancini. Then when some mustached punk asks you if you have ever tried them, school his ass and be like, "Yeah, they're awesome. Did you know that arancini comes from the Italian word arancina, which means 'little orange'? Well, did 'ya, punk?"

They also have a full Italian menu, which I have not tried, but from a friend's opinion it is pretty solid. Located just north of Addison - it is not swamped with tourists or drunk baseball fans. It's a chilly evening and the thought of going anywhere but straight home from work is just horrifying. What's also horrifying is the fact you have nothing for dinner at home so what do you do? Not go back out of course. Soo, you jump on GrubHub, the only option you have is delivery right? What sounds good? Pizza, pizza sounds good. You scroll and peek at a menu here and there, everything looks good. But the stars, you have to pick something with at least 3.5 to 4 stars. Which place has 4 stars and a satisfying menu? Panino's does. What do you chose? Well a Margherita pizza, and oh let's throw in mozzarella sticks for the comfort of it. Everything's going great, you decided what to eat, you're getting mozzarella sticks! What could go wrong? The total is a little much, but that's ok. The estimated delivery time is a little much, but that's expected. So you wait. And then the phone rings, and gasp! It's the delivery man, he's early! You throw on shoes, make sure you don't look too tousled and rush down the side steps two at time. There he is with your pizza, the box is huge and is wrapped in a cute little paper bag exclaiming "Buon Appetito!" You run back up the stairs two at a time again, eager to rip open the paper and throw up the top of the pizza box and to take a whiff of the scent that is a freshly baked pizza. But there is none. You open the box and to your grand disappointment the pizza is much smaller and much, much less appealing to the eye than you anticipated. And not just that, it's a little burnt. Then it gets worse, the worst of the worse. It's cold. But whatever it's dinner, cold pizza could be okay still. The first bite comes. Ugh! What is this awful flavor!? What is this sauce?! This could not have been made recently. In fact you've determined it must've been made last night and thrown into an oven for just one minute before it was shipped out. You can't even continue eating! What a waste! There's still the mozzarella sticks though, and the marinara sauce! But nooooo it's the same story as the pizza, cold and old. This place will make you swear off delivering from places you don't know, you're beginning to think. Screw the 4 stars, it's a 1 star place.

I love Panino's. When i lived within walking distance i went there aaaallll the time. Their chicken soup used to be my hangover meal. The thin crust pizza and the pan pizza are great. I enjoy the pasta also. I have used Panino's for delivery, pick-up and eat in and its all been fabulous. The only thing i don't love here is the deep dish pizza. The crust is definitely lacking.

Pizza looks like it could be good but after an hour later than when they said it would be here. GrubHub order and they couldn't get it touch with them. Garlic bread was soggy and the $25 pizza was more soggy it would be un-eatable without an oven. Would rather go Dominos, Papa Johns, or Pizza Hut in Chicago rather than them again...

Well, I went during dinner time so it was busy... I went into the carry out area, which is small and not comfortable.... I waited 30 minutes for a single order of pasta and breadsticks. Their Bosco Stix are amazing!!! Anyway, the service was bad. Nobody acknowledged me for 30 minutes or said," Hey, let me check on your order...". I had to ask multiple times... I hate this... When I placed the order it had not been real busy so he said, "Five or ten minutes..." Well, I checked my reciept time stamp, another great reason for saving them for a day or two, and noticed no wonder why I'm so irritable!!! I waited 30 minutes!!!! This should not have happened... The food is pretty good so I will most likely return but put them on notice that another one like that and thou shan't return!!!! Their portions are big so need not order appetizers unless you split it... Call ahead if you order around 6 or 7 for dinner time...

So last night I ordered in some delivery from Panino's. I ordered one of the artisan pizzas. The delivery time took about the same time that was approximated and the delivery guy was pleasant. The pizza arrived somewhat cold but I guess that comes with having it delivered vs eating it in the restaurant. I really didn't find it to be spectacular pizza. But it was good. The ingredients on the pizza were definitely fresh, so I appreciated that. I am not from Chicago , so I am not a total fan of the deep dish pizza. The thin crust dough was great and slightly charred. It was really good. Just on the cold side. I really couldn't appreciate this amazing pizza sauce everyone keeps mentioning. I am willing to try everything twice && Perhaps I'll order the plain ol cheese pizza next time to really appreciate it. The pizza wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. Again- I'm willing to give it another shot. Maybe I'll dine in next time ....

Great delivery services! The food is yummy, fairly standard Italian fare. They are always on time, regardless of whether you order by phone or online. If you go to the restaurant, note that there's a "fancy" side and a takeout side, both of which are decked out accordingly. Gets the job done and keeps it classy in a number of ways! Check it out when you're in the area and need more options than what bars offer.

I am finished. D-O-N-E with Panino's. I have ordered take-out from them many times and the first few were great, excellent even. But then items began to be left out of orders, and the food when downhill. Panino's always credited my account with the cost of the missing items and usually did what they could to keep me happy, even if the food was sliding down a slippery slope of brown guacamole and overly tart marinara. What sent me over the proverbial edge of my take-out fallout with Panino's was my rubbery, defrosted and then heated burger that contained remnants of God knows what, that almost cracked my tooth. Let me repeat that. A hamburger patty contained something so hard it almost cracked my tooth. WTF was in there?! Not to mention the translucent bacon and smear of truly disgusting guac that wallowed under that veil of "meat". I thought my meal would be salvaged by my side of curly fries, but no, they provided no flavor and were colder than the sidewalks outside. Arby's makes better curly fries. A lot better. I'm so sad to have to break up with Panino's. We've had some good times. But, disappoint me once, shame on you. Disappoint me twice, shame on me.

Best stuffed pizza I have had yet. I have been here at least 3 times and I'm not sure what it is, but the sauce is fantastic, and the crust is always perfect (not too crunchy or doughy - right in the middle). Anyways, ordered pickup and when I picked it up, it was not what I wanted (in hindsight, it was my fault), so I called back and the manager was super cool and re did it the way i wanted. No grief either. Conclusion: Great food, an amazing amount of extra food variety, and the manager is a cool guy if you screw up your own order.

My friend and I ordered a deep dish pizza for take out. Spinach, mushrooms, and sausages because I wanted to a comparison to Giordano's. Um, the verdict is? Giordano wins. I was a little disappointed with how little spinach there was in the pizza. Um, this is a spinach pizza! Also, there were very few mushrooms too. What is going on here? Overall, there weren't many toppings. I mostly ate bread, tomato sauce, and cheese-- all of which is good, but damn it, I wanted my spinach, mushrooms, and sausages and in a good amount.

I had the pasta with fettuccine and chicken. This entree included a soup or salad and I opted for some soup. I had the minestrone soup. It was pretty delicious. Also, I remember that their piping warm toasted bread was really yummy. By the time my main dish came out, I was pretty full. It was likely due to the fact that I ordered some beer as well. I think what disguishes this restaurant are the servers. They were really great with the service and are pleasant on the eyes. A friend mentioned that their pizza here is really good too.

Whatever gives you a food boner, you must satisfy yourself! Of course flavor and quality mean everything when it comes to deciding where to eat. So really think about what you're getting for your money. In this case, quantity does matter and is just as important as quality. I love the style of this place. It reminds me of the pizza place I worked at when I was younger. But that is beside the point and I will actually touch on the points right now. Although this place has fantastic food, the prices do not match the quantity. You can find sandwiches and wraps that INCLUDE fries for cheaper at other places. Same idea goes for the appetizer menu. Small portion and expensive. I cannot complain about the quality and taste of the food because it's good. Not AMAZING but I have gone back a few times. Shop around though and try to find a better deal. $7.50 for a chicken sandwich, and only that? That's steep, especially when they nickel and dime you for tomatoes, lettuce, and other necessities to satisfy your food boner. Go to Byron's just down the street to get a sandwich, fries, and drink for the same price.

If you are a fan of thin crust as I am, do yourself a favor and order from Paninos. Go one step further and request the crust "extra thin." What you will be served is the perfect balance of crust,sauce,cheese, and toppings. Excellent sums it up. The employees have always been friendly and the delivery service has always been timely even in prime delivery hours. Pricing for Paninos is also very reasonable. One of my favorite pizza joints in the city. Check them out!

I've been over Panino's for a while. When I first moved to the Lakeview neighborhood, I was obsessed with this place because they're food is pretty well-priced and they've got a really nice list of options. As I continued to eat Panino's, I realized that their food wasn't actually as great as it once was. It was basically losing quality every time I went. But most of all, their service was deteriorating. There was a slew of minor things that happened, like being overcharged etc... I won't get into it. My last straw with them was when they forgot to put cheese, lettuce, and tomato on two of the sandwiches I ordered. I walked all the way back, and told them. They remade the sandwiches and barely apologized. A week later, I ordered from them again and they made the exact same mistake AGAIN, come on... So I told the cashier and she was alright about it... told me to come back and talk to the manager for a refund because she wasn't able to give me one right there. Needless to say, the manager didn't give me a refund when I went back because he had no record of the mishap. When I asked him why he wouldn't just take my word for it, he shrugged. I understand messing up once, but twice on the same thing? Come on. The best way to keep customers coming back is to sincerely apologize and do whatever you can to make them at least somewhat satisfied. Very disappointed in Panino's.

Awesome pizza in an unexpected place. From the outside, Paninio's looks like nothing special, your typical pizza joint that is not too fancy but not super casual. However, Panino's has some of the best pizza in the city, you have to try their 'Neapolitan style' pies. My favorite is the Parma, which has prosciutto, arugula and parmesan. Tomato mozzarella salad is good as well, but I've never tried any of the pastas or entrees. Pizza is definitely their star, a must if you like in the neighborhood.

Their extra thin crust pizza is my go-to for delivery. One Sunday night I wanted something other than pizza and spent a good hour trying to figure out where to order from. I looked at Panino's great Yelp reviews for their pasta and thought I would give it a whirl. I like to test Italian food by their meatballs and love a good spaghetti marinara, so I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Oh boy, I was sad. The meatballs were worse than Trader Joe's turkey meatballs; they were bland and not firm enough. The pasta sauce had pretty much nothing to it, and isn't worth mentioning. Maybe I need to try one of their other pastas, but I was pretty disappointed. I had to add crushed red pepper, lots of Parmesan and cooked veggies to make it good. Shame, Shame. Their pizza really is delicious though!

So, I came to this cold and lonely corner of (what? Boystown? Lakeview? Buena Park? Uptown? what neighborhood is this???). Iin a strip mall. At night. And I was starving. And, maybe, a little cranky. I was hanging out with a married friend of mine I never get to see anymore and I was convinced that the night was going to end with me "ringing the alarm" in in that piece and causing a scene. Instead, I "got me bodied." Got dang, there is some good food here!! I wasn't going to mess around with dishes. I figure, if you're at a pizzeria, get a pizza. We got a pizza. We ordered a 16" thin crust deluxe and a few beers. We had a lot to catch up on and that seems to go better over booze. About midway into my second beer, I was doubting the wisdom of not getting an appetizer. My strength was low, my stomach was growling and I didn't have even the strength to chastise anyone. No strength to complain? Obviously, I was hurtin'. To my rescue, our waiter brought over mozzarella stix because i "looked like [i] could use them." If I could have flown to Vermont (much nicer this time of year than Iowa) and married him, I would have. As I finished devouring the stix (and scaring my college buddy off from having more than one), the pizza came. It smelled delicious. The sauce was sweet & savory. The cheese complimented the crust and the toppings were plentiful, crisp and succulent. Despite not having seen each other for months, we ate, slurped, drank and nom nommed in near silence. 16" v. two hungry guys = the pizza had no chance. By the time I pushed back from the table to survey the damage, there was grease on my face, my pants button strained to stay closed and I was dead sexy. "Good pizza. Johnny T happy. Johnny T want sleep." And I can't figure out how and why I am gaining weight.

So I've been ordering from Panino's on and off for years. I always stuck with their pastas and sandwiches. Truthfully, their pizza wasn't one of my favorites..until now. I had seen the new awning over the restaurant side and had heard good reviews about their new Neapolitan style pizzas. The last few times I had checked their website the Neas were only available for dine in and not delivery. Well last night I checked just to see and low and behold you could have them delivered. AMAZING! The problem with so many of the places that offer this style of pizza is that the pizzas are way to thin and arrive cold and soggy by the time they make it to your door. Not so with Panino's. The pizzas I ordered were still hot and fresh, the ingredients were top quality, and the crust was perfectly charred and chewy. You'll have to cut the pizza yourself when it gets to you but that is a small chore to pay to get such a great pie. I had to delete one star because the tomatoes on the salad I ordered were mushy and gross. However, shame on me for ordering anything with raw tomatoes in winter. Suffice to say, I've found a new go to when I'm craving Neapolitan style pizza delivered to my house.

You know those days when time gets away from you, you're deep in work mode, and the next thing you know it's 2 pm and you haven't yet ate lunch? Easy solution, I'm aware. Walk over to the fridge and cook something or at the very least, slap a sandwich together. Except... it's not so easy when the insides of your fridge are more naked than the beaches on the French side of St. Maarten! Panino's to the urban dweller's rescue. I called, placed my order for a $6.95 lunch special, and was acquainted with said food in 16 minutes. No lie. 16 minutes! I felt guilty for ordering delivery, but even the roundtrip walk would have taken 14 minutes between dealing with a high rise elevator and waiting for street lights to turn. Oh and the food-- it's legit. $7 + tip got me a grilled chicken Caesar pita, creamy roasted red pepper soup (get this please) and a Diet Coke. Lovely lunchin' in at my condo... do it!

I really want to like this pizza but you really need to lay off the dough. The pizza wound up being too dry because there was way to much crust, especially for a thin crust pizza. The sauce was really quite delicious though.

Extensive menu with something to please everyone. It's hard to get bored with selections form every type of pizza you can imagine, every type of pasta and Italian standards. Only a couple of times have I had a bad meal (each time was just overcooked pasta). The food and service are very consistent, which is why I keep going back. Delivery ( 6 blocks for me) is ALWAYS fast and the delivery people are actually courteous and will talk to you like human beings. Good thing they are not around the corner or I'd go there almost every day.

I absolutely LOVE this pizza place for delivery. I wanted to try a new pizza place, and just stumbled across this on grub hub because the menu looked pretty versatile, and you could also add your own toppings. I order thin-crust goat cheese pizza (sometimes with pineapple--I know, weird choice, but I like it), and it is always incredibly delicious. I also have gotten the breadsticks and macaroni and cheese, both also soooo good. Panino's has now turned into my go-to for pizza delivery when I'm looking for thin-crust pizza!

Ok, two parts to this review, because in my head there are two parts to this restaurant. The pizza: love it. Paninos is close to us so delivery is very fast (I'm afraid I'm not sure if that's because of our location or just good service) and the pizza is always nice and hot when we get it. It's not our favorite pizza, but it's right up there. The rest of the menu: I'm pretty happy with it. Since I'm allergic to dairy and tomatoes most Italian restaurants are totally out for me. But Paninos has some nice size salads and appetizers that are tomato and dairy free (for those nights I don't live with the pain and have pizza) that I really like. The grilled calamari is a favorite of mine. The service is pretty good, nothing great but definitely good, and the decor is nice. All in all we really like Paninos and are glad is just a quick walk for us.

YUMMMM...had Panino's for dinner tonight and I am still in a food coma several hours later. It was one of those nights where my boyfriend and I could not think of what to order for dinner and stumbled upon a Panino's coupon that was expiring today and decided to give it a try. Here's a little breakdown of our meal: Mozzarella Sticks-5+ stars, not too greasy, not overcooked-all around deliciousness. Oh yea and the marinera sauce was pretty tasty too! Chicken Parmesan Sandwich-Bf got this, it was huge-he could barely finish it, and trust me, he can eat a lot. The bite I had was very flavorful with perfectly tender chicken, just the right amount of marinara sauce, and gooey melted mozzarella. I almost asked for a second bite. Gnocchi w/ Meat Sauce-I have been craving gnocchi quite a bit recently, I know I know weird craving, but this definitely hit the spot. Gnocchi itself tasted very fresh, not sure if Panino's is homemade, but it sure did taste like it. The meat sauce was the perfect balance of meat and sauce, well seasoned. Big enough for me to have lunch for tomorrow too! Even though it was just carryout, the service was very friendly and definitely made me want to come back to eat in their dining room. The best part was definitely that are food was still piping hot by the time we got back home, this includes driving around for a parking spot. Overall, a perfect Italian comfort meal!

My boyfriend and I couldn't decide what we wanted to do for dinner on Friday night and around 9 pm, we thought we'd try Panino's mainly because it's less than a 2 minute walk for us and we wanted pizza. As we walked in, we were seated promptly and given waters along with menus. We were florred at the decent prices for bottles of wine. We fogured wine would be pricy andcame into the restaurant thinking we'd just either have waters or a glass of wine. After looking at the prices, a bottle it was! We went with the large chicago stuffed pizza and our waiter nicely informed us that a medium would still be too big but we are still in the age where we like cold pizza for lunch the next day. We didn't take his advise, knowing fully that we wanted leftovers for the restof the weekend. As he came out with the pizza, we weren't shocked that I could only eat 1 slice and my boyfriend 2 small-ish slices. We finished our wine asked for a box and walked out with 5 slices to distribute over the weekend. The pizza tasted great! We're usually a little hesitant on ordering deep dish because of the horror stories we hear about the crust being dry and tough and we all know that the crust is the best part! I have to admit, the best part of the experience was the wait. We always feel rushed when we go out to restaurants and as we ordered, our waited told us it would be a 45 minute wait. As we waited we chatted, laughed and just talked nonsense, which after both working 50+ work weeks, we enjoyed very much. We have friends coming in from Germany this week and we've already decided we'll be taking them there for their introduction to deep dish puzza, even if it's not truly "Chicago".

I have to give a shout out to Panino's for the chicken strips. I LOVE THEM! We order all the time and they are my favorite comfort food....the sicilian deep dish pizza isn't bad either! My one complaint...the chicken strips are really expensive! 5 strips for $5.95..they are great BUT not enough food for $5.95...I will have to stop ordering at that price but they are delicious. Lower the price so I can order them again and give you 5 stars!

We ordered buffalo wings ($5.95) and received six VERY small chicken nuggets and a plastic thing with hot sauce in it. WTF. Minus one star for that. This would have made me even more mad if the pizza weren't so good. You should take those off of the menu, Panino's!

Panino's is our go to, neighborhood pizza and pasta joint. However, if we ever move, it will still be our go to place because it's just an excellent restaurant. The dinner food is really well prepared and will exceed your expectation based on the price and simple decor. It's first class Italian food. The eggplant parmesan and baked rigatoni are two of my favorites. As many have said, their pizza is also excellent. And, they have takeout for both pizza and the pasta/dinner dishes. Finally, the service, for the most part is extremely friendly. We love Francisco and Javier.

As an Elite member I assume it is my duty to portray reviews in an objective and friendly manner. This will not be one of them, but what is really strange about this review is it has little to do with the actual business reviewed here. Here is goes. I'm currently in a job search mode (hint....that means I sit home most of the day on the computer, calling folks, sending emails, and trying to enter the lovely 9-5 workplace.) This means that if I decide that lunch is a small pizza and a few organic micro brewed beers, then so be it. This particular day that was the case and I did a quick Yelp.com search for pizza joints close by my place and had good ratings. Panino's met both criteria. I jumped in my car and zipped on down. Panino's, located pretty much at the intersection of Waveland and Broadway has a small parking lot that several businesses share, 7-11 being one of them. I parked....walked across the small lot and waited to place my order. Several folks were eagerly waiting for their meals (order out....there really isn't any seating). Placing my order I was told it would be 15 minutes. Realizing I had a few minutes I walked a half block over to Whole Foods, picked up a few micro brewed beers and headed back...total time to pick up beers....7 minutes. When I arrived, my car had a boot on it?!?!?! A small guy got out of a car beside mine with a clipboard in hand. He approached me, told me the conversation was being recorded and told me the car was booted and asked if I understood it would cost $115 to remove it....I said "I DIDN"T UNDERSTAND" and asked why....he again said the "standardized comment" and he pointed to the sign on a pole near my car....it stated many things but one indicated I couldn't leave the parking lot after I patronized a business......I told him since I hadn't picked up my pizza nor paid for it, I hadn't concluded my business at Paninos...he continued to refuse my request so I headed to Paninos. The gentleman at counter indicated they didn't own the lot, which I in turn indicated that he nor is there anything to indicated "I was required to sit in my car until my pizza was ready." He reclutantly walked outside and told the guy I was waiting for a pizza....the parking guy indicated that he was going to be good guy and take it off. The moral of this story is this business is somewhat held hostage by a landlord that owns the parking lot. You can patronize a business but cannot walk across the street to the dry cleaners or you'll get booted. Unfortunately Paninos really doesn't seem to care such things happen even though you will probably wait for your food....get delivery if at all possible. But the worst part of this situation was that the pizza was really not that good. The thin crust was burnt all over and it was so greasy, I would consider this sub-standard pizza considering the many other establishments I've experienced.

Wow. My boyfriend and I were struggling to think of nearby place to eat, and all along, I was thinking there was a dearth of good restaurants in north Lakeview. Boy was I wrong. Is it possible on a Wednesday night to get great service, a nice glass of wine, a cozy atmosphere, and melt-in-your-mouth lamb chops? Um, yeah, if that place is Panino's. I eat here at least once a week, very delicious Chicago Pizza. The Grid Iron is an amazing deal if you have a small army to feed, but I usually stop in for pizza by the slice if I'm in the area. My boss and I always order from them when we work on Saturdays.

This is our, "I'm tired and have to do homework and don't want to cook" go-to. The pizza is delicious and therefore TROUBLE. I introduced my parents from out of town to their pizza and this is an e-mail they just sent to Paninos: "We are just sending a note to let you know that the half-baked pizza your Broadway Store made and delivered to my daugter last Monday night flew to Alaska on Tuesday morning, and we cooked and ate it last night. It was wonderful, and almost as good as eating them fresh in your restaurant. We baked it for 35 minutes at 400 degrees and the crust was crispy and the cheese browned nicely. Much better then the Pizza Uno we brought back several years ago which was soggy. My daughter discovered your pizza and we have eaten at your restaurant several times over the last year when we visit Chicago. It is our opinion you have the best Pizza in Chicago, and we have tried the others who are more famous. I like to think I know pizza to some degree since I owned a pizza place in Indiana many years ago, and managed a pizza place in Arizona while going to College, then opened and owned another in Alaska for 5 years. I like to think I have come to my senses now and do not work retail restaurants anymore. So thanks for working with us to do the half baked pizza and be assured we will be bringing one back every time we pass through Chicago." Needless to say, it's a great neighborhood joint with good pizza.

This pace is great. I don't think that I've ever had a bad meal there. their prices are good and the atmosphere is cozy. I tend to use their delivery service more than is healthy, but it's just so convenient and delicious. The double-crust pizza is excellent and I LOVE their burgers! YUM! The ONLY, ONLY, ONLY problem that I'v ever had here is that sometimes, they can't hear me when I call to order. Totally forgiveable, guys! :)

Panino's, I never even know you existed until last night. Where have I been living... under a rock? The bermuda triangle? My lovely friend Angie suggested we hit up Panino's for our pizza delivery last night... knowing I'm a D'ags girl she reassured me that this zzah was even better. I have to admit I was skeptical, but homegirl was right!! The delivery was fast and everything was piping hot when it arrived. The pizza was really some of the best thin crust delivery I've had... it's a total departure from the sweetness of the D'agostinos sauce, much more rich and tangy, but I loved it! Every bite (and there were many, many bites!!!). Super cheesy and a nice crunchy crust that held up well without getting soggy. They also have some of the best garlic breadsticks ever... I almost could have made a meal of them without the pizza, almost. Really soft, chewy and packed with buttery-garlicky flavor. Mmmmmmmm breaaadsticks. I can't vouch for their location since this is a delivery only review. But I can tell you that there is definitely a new zzah spot in my heart. Sorry D'ags, maybe I'll be back for some sloppy seconds soon.

Partner and I have ordered their thin crust for delivery on numerous occasions over the years. This week, we actually ventured out to the restaurant. It's a nice comfortable space in a Lake View strip mall. It's proximate to an unholy trinity of gay clubs. We both thought it would be a bit busier on a holiday eve than it turned out to be. While the service was attentive and very friendly, there was hardly an excuse for it to be otherwise. I ordered a glass of wine, they have a respectable selection. Partner order the Lasagna and I ordered the Rigatoni Gorgonzola. His entree was very good; mine was awesome. It was however, so rich that I couldn't finish it. We'll need to visit them more often.

Having only eaten take out pizza from the Evanston Panino's location, I came to dine here expecting a lowkey pizza joint. I'm sure this Panino's also has good pizza, as indicated by my fellow Yelpers, but I was happily surprised at the variety and quality of Italian food. The ambiance was still chill but also classy feeling, could be datelike. We ordered mussels - the largest mussels I've had - from the daily specials menu. The flavor was great, and the accompanying bread was perfect to eat it all. I enjoy the salad and my paccheri napolitano with fresh mozarella and again great flavor. The waiters were very attentive, and I would definitely go back. Next time, I'd check for coupons, as I've heard they come in local mailers. Great prices, even without coupons, and I had leftovers to take home.

I like being able to tell when a place is doing great and I hate to say when they mess up but I can't resist. Last night I ordered 2 meals at 7:30 and was told by GrubHub my meal would be one hour. I was ok with this because there was the Bears game and I was being lazy since I was just a few blocks away but the delivery fee was worth not missing a play. Now everyone knows they say a time and then beat it to look good, right? Well after the meal was almost 15 minutes late I called and was told, your order is on its way. I'm like ok, if they walked it would take ten minutes. 20 minutes later I call back and they try to tell me it was delivered...if it was delivered I would be eating it and not calling you. So she checks again and again then finally admits......the order was never prepared! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Said she'd have it there in 20 minutes and they were busy....after 9PM what other choice do I have than wait? Now if I could give GrubHub 6 Stars I would. After listening to their cheesy hold messages I get through and they not only refunded my meal, they called and asked what the deal was my order at Panino's and to cap it off, gave me credit on my account for another meal through them...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! In the end the food did come and I give 3 stars because as before, the food really is good and hit the spot after waiting 2 hours. The meal was good, the bread, the salad, everything. Lesson learned in being lazy, pause the game and do the job yourself. The food is great, just don't bank the delivery system.

We had an excellent experience here for lunch today. Started off thinking that there was not a dining room since we entered from the north through the plaza. You have to go around the entrance on Waveland to get to the dining area. We started with the Prosciutto and Mozzarella appetizer, which was served on perfectly toasted crostini. The prosciutto was freshly shaved with great flavor. I got the chicken caprini, which was spinach, artichoke and prosciutto stuffed chicken breast. Spinach and artichokes, in my opinion are a perfect union. The chicken was really moist, and had a crispy breading on it, which flaked off easily enough, so that I didn't have to have all of it. The pesto cream sauce was light enough so that it didn't overpower the flavor of the chicken, but coated the fettucini really well. I was quite surprised that the salad that came with my entree was made iceberg lettuce, and the creamy garlic dressing had the consistency of mayo, which is calorically frightening. A pass was granted on the salad because of the appetizer and the entree. My boyfriend had the cheese stuffed tortellini, with artichokes, and freshly shaved parmesan. The flavor of the sauce was really nice, and he finished his whole entree. About halfway home he noted that that was possibly a poor choice, but that it was so good he just couldn't stop eating it. The decor was typical Italian with grapevine embellished walls, and oversized pictures of wine, and landscapes. There were holes around the room, which was clearly because they were replacing the wall sconces, but they should get to doing that, since it looks a little janky. Overall our lunch/dinner experience was really good. The prices were reasonable, and I have enough left over for dinner if I at all feel hungry again today.

God, do I miss this place! I used to live in the neighborhood and would have it delivered all the time. Panino's has some of the best thin crust pizza around. It's thin, saucy, greasy and delicious. Everything I want in a pizza; because let's be honest. No one expects to get a healthy meal when they're ordering a pie. And nothing is worse than dry pizza. I'm giving this a 4 star review not because of poor food quality, but mostly because the delivery driver was totally incapabale of finding my name in my apartment building directory and getting buzzed in. They would inexplicably call my cell phone and have me come down to pick up my cheesy goodness. But I suppose its a small price to pay to the pizza gods.

Panino's is all about "bang for your buck". Let's start with the appetizers. The Vesuvio Potato Wedges are potato wedges that you wouldn't expect. When you order them, you're thinking "Dude, I'm getting deep fried goodness", when they arrive, you see lightly battered, thickly cut wedges soaked in a delicious garlic based sauce. Plus, the portion size is huge. Quite a steal for $4.40. The breaded mushrooms are also an excellent choice, again, a giant portion size, not overly battered and comes with a generous cup of delicious marinara. On to the pizza. The pizza is out of this world. Imagine humongous slices, cheap, and in any style you want. Yes please! The pasta is another staple of Panino's. I always order the mostaccioli with chicken. The meat marinara is thick and meaty, and they chopped up at least a full chicken beast into mix. The delivery is also superb. Always under 30 minutes and always hot. Panino's is Italian style comfort food that will under any circumstance fill you up. You might want to hit the gym when you're done.

I went here last night for dinner for the second time since living in Chicago... it's actually one of the places I ate at on my first visit here. There was only one other table of two in the restaurant, which was nice for enjoying a quiet dinner out. However, once I had the food, I was kind of sad that there weren't really any people in there. We ordered the sicilian pizza with wheat crust. It actually reminded me more of the typically stuffed pizza that I would ordered at other restaurants, but it was delicious! I haven't really had a super soft pizza crust in a while so it was a nice change from crispy thin or the crunchy crust I get from Lou's. The ambiance was nice and I felt almost as if I were dining in my dining room (well.. my parents dining room...since I don't have one THAT nice in the city!) Best part, the prices were pretty reasonable so I didn't feel we were breaking the bank! I'll definitely be ordering from or dining in here again!

As someone who is gluten free, I always appreciate a gluten free menu. Although it doesn't say it right on the menu, you can get many pasta dishes made with gluten free noodles. I get sick easily from cross contamination and have never felt sick after eating here. I've had their gf pizza as well, which was not anything special. For ordering gluten free online, it's easiest to do off grubhub because they show you all the gluten free options. It's a bit trickier to figure out what they can make gluten free off their online menu.

They serve several styles of pizza. I can only talk about their "Neapolitan artisanal" pizzas, which to my surprise, are by far the pizza's I've ever had in Chicago. My husband and I have visted Italy several times, and Panino's pizzas taste exactly like pizzas taste in Italy. The owner (an Italian) told us he brought in an oven from Italy and imports all the ingredients, including the flour, from there. Wow. Whatever he does, the result is fantastic. (The gelatos kick ass as well!)

This review is for the back carry out entrance only. I have never dined in at Panino's, and unfortunately don't think I will after this experience. I ordered 2 slices of pizza to go from the back entrance. The pizza was so disgusting. It was as if it had been sitting under hot lights for 10 hours (which it probably had been...). The grease was so thick it had soaked through all of the crust onto my plate. My friend and I were starving and actually had to throw our pizza away. We were hoping for some yummy authentic pizza, but ended up wasting money on panino's pizza, throwing it away, and ordering papa john's instead. Super disappointing. Maybe fresh (made to order) Panino's pizza is good, but DO NOT get single carry out slices from the back entrance.

This has the best thin crust pizza for cheap in my neighborhood. It has the perfect balance with the crust, saltiness, not too greasy...I love it. And it tastes really good cold too as leftovers. Only one other pizza place satisfies me as much, and it's way far away from me. Thank goodness for Paninos!

I think getting decent Italian food delivered is almost impossible but Panino's managed to do a good job. We ordered the greek salad, fried ravioli, lasagna, and the tortellini tuscany (yes, we were very hungry). Our order arrived in under 45 minutes and everything was good. It also arrived hot which I personally think is important for any delivery but especially Italian since I can't stand cold spaghetti. The lasagna was not the best I've ever had but it was ok. The tortellini on the other hand was great. The sauce was delicious although quite heavy and sweet. After reading some of the other reviews I'd love to order again and try some of their pizza or sandwiches. The menu is huge so Panino's is sure to have something to satisfy everyone. Side note; the portions are huge! I'm writing this the morning after and I'm still stuffed.

Dine-in or delivery - Panino's has the best food no matter what you order. I've had them cater some of my parties - food is always delivered hot and on-time. When my folks come in from the burbs, this is the first place they want to eat. Try the ribs or mushroom risotto!

So I guess I should have had the pizza. What I did order was a bit disappointing. I had a gyro sandwich..I know, I know...why order such a thing in an Italian pizza place? Maybe I will give 'em another shot when I am in the mood for pizza, or pasta, or a panini. My food was dry and severely lacking in flavor. I had also ordered a Mojito..it also was not too great. It needed a bit of sweetness to balance it out..it just didn't make the cut. On the upside, the server was really sweet and attentive. I'll give it another go sometime but for now, it was just Meh.

On tha lunch tip: $3.75 (tax included) will buy you a piece of stuffed spinach or sausage pizza, and they will cover it in marinara at no extra charge. Makes for a perfect sized (filling) Italian meal, in my opinion. Not the best I've had, but it's damn good. There are only two outdoor tables - on the sidewalk - for take out customers to use.

Ok so apparently there are two sides to Panino's (ha ha no pun intended) there is one side that faces a parking lot that just does take out and delivery and then there is a back side with a separate entrance that is a little sit down restaurant. My friends took me to the restaurant part last night. I had never even heard of this place before, much less had even seen it. Panino's restaurant side is like a hidden gem though! It's one of those places that is never totally crowded, but has a good size crowd of regulars who always eat there. (My friends are those regulars :) ) The service is friendly and 100% certified real Italian. We started out with the fried calmari, I would have to say that this calamari is perfect! It is LIGHTLY battered and fried so its a perfect combination of fried goodiness but you can still taste the calmari. I hate it when calmari is so heavily battered and fried that you forget what you are eating because all you taste is the fried batter. For my entree, I ordered the special italian sausage and rappini gnocchi. The italian sausage is to die for, and they are not stingy in the amount of sausage and rappini in this dish. I was really craving gnocchi but when the entree came out, I found myself eating most of the sausage and rappinni first! Plus I love that all of the dishes come out extra hot so you know they just brought them directly from the kitchen right to your table. Then for dessert (yes of course we ordered dessert) I had the tartufo, which was hazelnut chocolate ice cream goodness, but what stole the show from my tartufo was my friend's pizz cookie which is this hot freshly baked gooey chocolate chip cookie topped with a scoop of ice cream. I found myself stealing bites of her dessert while eating mine! Hey I can't resist a warm gooey fresh baked chocolate chip cookie! I had an excellent time at Panino's, it is a very cute find! Prices are very reasonable here and the service does not disappoint.

The pizzas take a while to prepare, but don't load up on the bread. :) Place is a bit small and on a cold day don't let them sit you by the door because it gets really cold up front.

Panino's is a safe bet when you want good pizza for a good price. Order a whole pizza over the phone or online or stop in the parking lot side for a slice on the run. I have not eaten in the dine-in side since my fiance lives very close. On our first visit I tried a sandwich (chicken parmesan, I believe) and was pleasantly surprised by both the quality and quantity (leftovers!).

This is our go-to Italian place, we've been going for years. There are 2 sides to this place, the restaurant and the take-out side. The take-out side is very limited, they don't have the full menu, and it's mostly pizzas and slices. The two halves aren't really comparable, they are completely different- even the pizza at the restaurant is light years better than at the take-out side. We always go to the restaurant when we're in an Italian mood, and have never been disappointed. I don't remember the name, but the pasta with sausage and tomato cream sauce is awesome. All the entrees are HUGE- you'll have enough left for lunch tomorrow, and maybe then some. Also surprisingly, they have 2 great comfort food dishes: ribs (not kidding, they're the best in E. Lakeview) and pot roast- which really reminds me of my mom's. All the traditional items are there- chicken Marsala, lasagna (meat- don't know if they have veggie), veal (really delicious, a little pricey). They also have a full complement of wines, but if I go on a week night I don't usually have any. In summer they have a little patio out front, but it's small and it's more sidewalk-y than terrace-y. Plan for leftovers- we've very rarely been able to stop and leave room for dessert. The Tiramisu is killer (the one time I've tried it). They have a great cream of chicken soup that we always get. The bread basket they bring is great- focaccia with olive oil and parmesan- it's an awesome starter. The ambiance is modern yet still Italian (it was reworked about a year ago). As I said, I've been going here ever since they opened (8+ years), and the food is always consistent. You're always satisfied, which is precisely what I'm looking for in an Italian place.

My Godmom took me and my family out to dinner. We arrived at Panino's and I was about to go in. "No, thats the pizza and sandwiches side. The other side is the restaurant." A bit confused we followed her and sure enough on the other side is a small intimate restaurant. The whole experience start to finish was a dream. Beginning with our server Ryan (his nickname is sweetie-pie since he says he is good with the ladies) we had a fabulous time making jokes and chatting. The appetizers came out in a very timely manner (artichoke and spinach dip, mozzarella sticks, and bruschetta were fabulous). More witty banter from Ryan and only a little while later all our food came out. I ordered the lobster ravioli. It has been the best pasta I've ever had in my entire life. the presentation, flavors, and textures were amazing. I will make them a regular dinner stop from now on. 5 Stars for Ryan my server, he sealed the deal!

I have now been to Panino's 3 times and can accurately review the 3 facets of the restaurant: Pizza, lunch, and dinner. Pizza - I ordered a large thin and it was absolutely fantastic. The ratio of cheese to sauce to crust was perfect, as was the blast of flavor in each bite. My group ordered a sausage and pepperoni and the toppings were plentiful and delicious. It receives a solid 4 stars on my pizza scale. Lunch - AMAZING. I give their lunch 5 stars. For the price ($7.95), you cannot beat their lunch panini's. I had the Pollo which had chicken, roasted red peppers, provolone, and pesto. As a huge pesto fan, this one was a no brainer. The sandwich was a healthy size and comes with fries and a pickle. To think this is the same price as crappy Subway is absolutely awesome. I also had a bite of the Cubano and Campania, both of which I will be trying in the next couple of weeks. Dinner - After 2 gratifying visits to Panino's, I gave their dinner a shot last night. I was surprised to see the transformation of the menu to. The best part? They had all my favorites, including the Veal Saltimbocca. Oh my God. Excellent. Maybe it's because the dish is offered on such a limited basis at other Italian restaurants, or maybe it's just my fascination with the dish, but it was phenomenal. The dish came out hot, melty, juicy, and with the perfect proportion of light sauce. The girl I was with had the special which was a meat ravioli in a black truffle cream sauce. It was thick, creamy, and unbelievably flavorful. Hello gym today...On a side note, order the Coke with grenadine in it- the best Cherry Coke I have ever had! The restaurant itself is small and cozy. The service was fine, no complaints there. I will be back for sure. My only complaint was that for dinner, the seated us in a small, 2 person table on a Monday night when they had plenty of 4 person tables closer to the windows. Regardless, I could have spoken up and I am certain they would have moved us. I cannot wait to go back!

Thats why Paninos is the place where you'll find this girl spending $4 for a slice of (giant) thin crust pizza. The sauce has this slight spice to it (not spicey, just seasoned well) and the ratio of cheese, sauce, crust, and toppings never leaves any pizza fan unsatisfied. Ok I have to add that I'm a pizza snob. I've driven great distances and tried my fair share of pizza places, and Paninos really knows how to do it right.

Somehow, after ten months of living closer to Panino's than any other restaurant, I had never eaten there. So last night, I did. The bar just doesn't work (it's crunched in by the front door where a coat room might be, with very little standing room), but otherwise the layout was fine. I didn't get their pizza, so this is not a pizza review. That's a whole other animal. What I did get is a timpano, which was exactly what any starved Italian caveman would ever want. It's basically a giant pot pie full of like 4 different meats, sauce, cheese, and pasta, and it comes with soup. I could only finish half of the damn thing. I just ate another quarter for lunch today. For $12, that was a hell of a lot of food. The service was excellent, and this might be the only affordable Italian place with good food that will still hook a brother up with some bread, foccacia and olive oil before the meal.

Love Panino's! I've only gotten take-out from here, so I can't speak for the service or the restaurant area. The lasagna is to die for. It is so delicious. Lots of sauce, and a big portion with a slice of bread as well. For less than $10, its big enough for me to split it into 2 meals. I've also ordered the tiramisu, which I would definitely recommend. Almost forgot! You can place your order online. Super easy and a great way to make sure you'll be receiving exactly what you wanted.

Panino's is a fantastic neighborhood pizza stop. Why anyone would eat from the big name pizza parlors in Chicago when they could support stores like this is beyond me. The staff is efficient and courteous, and if you're buying single slices from the store, they're usually fresh. You cannot beat the price. For my taste, the deep dish is better than the thin crust here. The tomato sauce makes the pie. Spinach deep dish is especially good. Next time you head to Wrigley or are around the neighborhood, stop in. Chances are good that you won't be disappointed.

I was thrilled that Panino's rated quite high because even though I've lived around the corner from Panino's for 3 years, I have never been in or ordered take-out. The ambiance was great (they had spring training baseball on TV-huge plus for the boyfriend), Frank Sinatra in the background and a pleasant wait staff. The food was great, the service was great, the wine was nice and everything was very reasonably priced. For my boyfriend, who happens to be somewhat of a food snob, he absolutely loved the place and wants to make it a permanent fixture in our date night repertoire. My go-to pizza place for delivery! I do not order it as often as I would like, mostly because we live closer to Pizzeria Aroma and it is closer and just as good. Paninos does have larger than normal pizzas (over 16") which makes it useful for parties. Try a double-dough pizza with Panino Breadsticks, you will not be disappointed. There is also a restaurant that is attached to the carry out location which serves the exact same food so feel free to dine in or carry out. One of the best thin crust pizza options I've found so far!

OK, so here's the deal. Order pizza from Panino's, not much of anything else. Double crust it, and you are set. The sauce is tasty, not tinny at all. Imho, they do a better job with single topping pizzas than the "super laden" ones, which I found to be over topped. Otherwise, I consider Panino's to be a real find.

The food was great and the service was horrible. It was lunch time, and there was only one server. My friend and I were the only table there when we walked in so the waiter was attentive to us. Then a large group of people came in and all we wanted to was to close our tab and get a box for our food. He completely ignored us and was very frazzled. I work in a high volume bar, so I know what it is like, however it wasn't so crazy that he couldn't wrap up with us. He never asked us if we wanted change and threw our food at us after we had finally waited 20+ minutes to get our box. We both said thank you but he just threw the food at us and took off.

I'm a thin crust girl. I like little thin crust slices, so I can eat a few and not overeat. Panino's pan pizza almost sent me into a carb coma. We ordered the pesto with chicken and goat cheese and the garlic cheese bread. The menu says a medium (12 inch) pizza feeds 1-2. Try 3-5! The crust was so thick that I ate one slice and one piece of the garlic bread (which by the way is garlic PESTO cheese bread?) and was completely stuffed. The pizza was good, but my god that is a lot of dough. A little too much dough for my tastes. The dough and goat cheese made it a bit on the dry side, but overall it was still pretty tasty. I'd give them another try but now I know to only order the thin crust and go with a small!

Not too shabby. A midst the first snow blizzard of Chicago, popped into this place for a late night (9:00pm) bite. Quaint little italian restaurant, not too fancy. Checkerboard table covers and oil awaits you at the table. Restaurant locals lined the bar, giving a family feel when we walked in. The greek salad was good. I love kalamata olives! We also ordered the deluxe 12" pizza. It's was just ok. Nothing knocked me of my feet here. It was a little on the greasy side. I like a dryer pizza I guess. Service was overly concerned with how we were doing. But I'd rather have service than no service at all. Overall this place is a cozy italian "feel like family" restaurant. Great place to come in from the cold.

Good food, a bit overpriced for basic Italian food, but on par with the rest of the city. Decent gnocci, which was surprising. Nice outdoor area that would've been so much nicer without the possessed screaming children running up and down the sidewalk. Why can't parents control their kids? Sheesh. Running up and down a sidewalk screeching at the top of their lungs isn't the way kids should behave in a restaurant. Outdoor seating or not. Stupid parents. Sorry. I digress. Good outdoor seating, prompt service, great bread, and after the kids left it was a really nice dinner. If I could, I'd give 4 stars to our blond waitress (try and get her to wait on you); she was on top of everything - She made sure to tell me that the lobster pasta used imitation lobster, and when she realized she forgot my BF's beer she quickly took it off the tab, which was a plesant surprise to us. It's staff like that which brings this place above the average of normal Chicago Italian fare.

I've been meaning to update my review as we have been dining IN (and taking out) from Panino's for a while now. I feel like the dine in part is really a hidden gem since most people order takeout. This place is the best. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. It's usually not very busy (which is why I am updating my review!) so everything is fast and perfect. They have dinner and drink specials and on Wednesday nights they have a $5 martini menu - they make a fabulous lemon drop!!! All in all, this is our go to place for Italian in Lakeview whether we want it delivered or want to eat there. It makes me so sad though because there are never enough people dining when we go and I hope that's just because everyone's ordering takeout. Please try this place - Lakeview doesn't have much to offer in the way of awesome restaurants and this is one we don't want to lose!!

Gyro pan pizza - I say no more! Its great. Across the board, Panino's is solid. In a town know for its pizza, Panino's holds its own as a good neighborhood spot. The eat in space is pretty large and the delivery/take away is located in the back. Most nights it only takes 15 min if you want take out. They also have slices on hand if you just need a quick slice. Other favs include the mozzy sticks and toasted ravolis.

This is my go-to delivery place for Italian food. I haven't had their pizza yet (which apparently I need to try) but I usually get pasta or entrees. Their entrees are good and a great deal. I ordered the chicken marsala and it came with a side of pasta, small salad (really small, but can't complain because it was basically free) and bread and butter - for $13! I've also have some of their pastas which are really tasty, too. Delivery is quick - half an hour on a Saturday!

This is my ultimate go-to-place when I can't decide where to get take out from. The food is consistently hot, and tastes good. The fact that delivery is rather fast too, helps me feel so positive about coming back here. I went here last night and fell in love. The food is good. The place is quaint and the prices are extremely reasonable. Our waitress was so friendly and gave incredible suggestions. She was the only one on and she did an amazing job. I had cheese ravioli and my friend had a rigatoni in a Gorgonzola cheese cream sauce. Wow were they tasty. The balsamic vinaigrette was fantastic. I can't wait to go back.

Panino's is great for eat-in and take out. I've never ordered delivery so can't comment on that. The restaurant has a cozy, dimly lit interior and outdoor patio seating in the summer. There is a separate back entrance for the take out / delivery part of the restaurant. Everything I've ordered from here has been great -- huge burgers, great thick and thin crust pizza. I'm also addicted to their spaghetti carbonara and lasagna. I typically do take out here but have taken friends to dine in for special occasions. It's also a great stop for Cubs fans looking to grab a slice after a game, just 10 minutes walking distance from Wrigley.

We have been ordering for home delivery from Panino's since they opened here but last night was the first time we went to their restaurant & with another couple. Expecting a "pizzeria" we were pleasantly surprised that this was a beautifully decorated Italian restaurant. We were surprised that the flyer specials and coupons they issue are for delivery & pick-up only but we were not disappointed. Their dinner menu is a full menu and the prices are reasonable. Our waiter, Fernando, was very accommodating and knew the menu well. We ordered osso bucco ravioli, gnocchi & sausage, spaghetti with butter & sausage slices and spaghetti with meat sauce & mushrooms. Everything was beautifully cooked. I had the best canolli served with a scoop of pistachio gelato. We're going back soon to try other "stuff"; however, I'm stuck on their Italian sausage. We've been ordering sausage and sausage/beef combs. sandwiches for delivery for years. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood on NW side and Panino's is THE BEST!!!!!! Try them, you'll like them.

They just redid the menu and interior, I always have the same waiter who is overly friendly. He is very nice, and has great wine recommendations. I have had the chicken stuffed with prosciutto and spinach- delicious! The pizza is delicious, and they use quality ingredients.

My usual go-tos for delivery were getting a little old so I decided to try Paninos. I ordered cheese fries and a sausage and pepperoni calzone. They quoted me 45 minutes for delivery, it took about 50 minutes, but everything was hot when it arrived at my door. I thought the delivery time was a little long giving that I live less than a mile from the restaurant, or maybe it's just a sign that I should get off my lazy butt and walk to pick up the food. Anyway, cheese fries were nothing special. The calzone was pretty good. I liked the sauce as well as the sausage and pepperoni. Overall it was a filling (okay stuffing), greasy Friday night dinner. I'll probably order from here again. They have an extensive menu and online ordering is coming soon.

I had them deliver some catering to a party on the Lake. They were on time and the food got rave reviews from all of the attendees (pizzas, wings, whole wheat pasta and salad) . The cost was great - I was able to feed 20 people for just about $10/person! Come to think of it though, I don't remember seeing the chicken wings I ordered so I just hope either I missed them in all the commotion or we weren't charged for them.

ah, Paninos. This place is great, the ribs are very good, and the gnocci carbonara (off the menu but they do it) is so rich and tasty you should have some back up pants. The chicken parm dinner and the small traditional pan pizza is super great too. the owners are beyond kind and send out your proper order if mistakes are made. This place is great for carry out or dining in, Its close to Angelinas and is cheaper and better. You want some Zert? they got it! try the gelato. Anyone who gives this place less than four stars could complain about a sunny day in heaven. go to there, you'll be glad you did.

We stopped in on Friday night after electing to stay close to the house- we've tried carryout from the other side of the restaurant a few times and have been underwhelmed. That said, this side of the house was absolutely outstanding. We had the eggplant parmigiana and chicken marsala, and both were phenomenal... the eggplant was the best I've had in ages, better than at some more upscale restaurants. It was served with pasta on the side that was PERFECTLY al dente. Portions were massive... I can't remember the last time I took food home from a restaurant, but I did it here... nearly half my food. Contributing factors: the 942 pieces of their really good fresh bread and focaccia dipped in olive oil and freshly grated parmesan. I washed down my meal with a couple of Moretti's, a fine, light, beer from Italy- a land best known for its wine but able to churn out a fine birra. My princess was enthralled by her chianti. Service was terrific. We came in at the tail end of the Friday dinner rush and our waiter was apologetic for even the slightest delay... we hadn't noticed most of the time. Great, great, great experience and I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

So a friend actually introduced me to this restaurant about a year and a half ago. When we first started going, I LOVED it! Their salads, which I tended to get were fantastic! As well were their appetizers. I know we got the coconut shrimp (which actually I don't think is very Italian, but whatever) and that was fantastic -- HUGE shrimp and very good. As well the waitress that we tended to get EVERY week that we would go was very attentive. It's a smaller place, so it was a nice place to chat and be able to hear one another. As well they have TVs, but they do not generally have the volume up. So it was nice because we could have the game [Cubs] or election info/debates (this was when Obama was running) on in the background and check in on things every once in a while when we wanted to. My friend I know, RAVES about the lasagna and would oftentimes actually order that for take out. Loved it so much. Then about 6 months ago or so, we went again after a long time of not going. They had totally changed the menu, and I didn't honesty think for the better. I wound up getting something totally new though, and wasn't ecstatic about that, so I don't know that I actually had a good, accurate judgement. The restaurant is still the same the menu just changed. The nice thing about their entrees though is that you get either soup/salad with it, and then obviously there's bread, and certain items come with either a potato or pasta if it isn't already a pasta dish. So you're not going to leave on an empty stomach. Last night I finally decided to get take out from there, as it was raining and I could NOT find my umbrella -- typical. So I ordered the caprese salad (FABULOUS even though it was dressing from a packet) teh eggplant parmesan and chocolate chip cheesecake -- I was hungry, what can I say. I'm UBER picky about eggplant as my mother makes the best and I can replicate that recipe. I've NEVER had anything that can top it, until last night. The eggplant was a bit different than what I make as it was made almost like a lasagna. It was layered with ricotta cheese, and it was very thinly sliced. It was so delicious, and was over penne pasta which I don't do when I make it. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. The cheesecake on the other hand was a packaged Eli's, which is good, but I like homemade authentic. So if you want a quiet place to chill and eat some decent Italian food, go for it. Not my favorite, but by no means bad!

Okay, I admit it. The thick crust Sicilian pizza my wife and I had was very good. In fact, excellent. Don't let her know I wrote this review! You see, my wife is from New York and for the last 30 years all I ever heard was how New York style pizza is the best. Chicago pizza is never as "good as New York". I have taken her to my favorite Chicago style pizza places with the always the same comment, 'it's okay BUT not like New York pizza." She finally found Pinano's and their New York style pies. I have finally convinced her they are both good and you can't compare apples with oranges. Hopefully, since this east coast - midwest conflict has been solved there is hope that there can be peace in the Middle East as well. Anything is possible with "Hope". Vote Obama. Sorry for the political message but I just watched his Berlin speech and got caught up in the moment!

Panino's in my mind is known for their Timpano's. This is stuffed pasta pie baked in pizza crust. It is muy fabulous! I personally recommend their chicken veggie timpano that is stuffed with zucchini, carrots, green beans, mushrooms, peas, and drenched in alfredo sauce. I'm making myself hungry just thinking of it. It's enough to feed two people and great the next day as leftovers. If your feeling something lighter I also recommend their veggie pannini. It's chocked full of eggplant, roasted red peppers, artichokes, and provolone cheese and grilled to perfection.

My bf and I dined there when no one else was in the restaurant. My phone was missing when I left so I went back, telling them my phone was missing. They denied having the phone and treated me ridicuously even saying I might of dropped it outside or in the toliet and didnt remember. NO ONE ELSE was in the restaurant, but us and the waitress and the bus boy so I assumed it was the bus boy who stole the phone because he cleared the table and hid from us when we came back, he also acted very shady and claimed he knew nothing about it and the phone must of vanished. Later, I found international calls to Mexico on my phone bill and am out 163 dollars to replace the phone. The manager, Miguel Vega, claims he can do nothing for me. Panino's is good, not great, but good. They have a huge menu, and like most places with big menus, the items are hit or miss. However, I find most of the items to be a hit, like the stuffed pizzas and some of the panini's (I'm a fan of the Cuban). They also serve large portions which make this place a great value. And in this tight economy, who doesn't love a deal?

This used to be just a carry out pizza place that had decent pizza. Now, they bought the restaurant behind them and opened a really good Italian restaurant in it's place. Well I've eaten here a bunch of times, and I've finally decided to write a brief review of it. As you can see, I'm giving it two stars, but I'll probably keep coming back here because it's convenient and there are a few things on the menu I like. I'm really rating it down because the food is sooooo inconsistent. I've ordered the exact same panini 3 times and it's been made 3 different ways (hot, cold, without basil). I recently went with my dad, he had the deep dish veggie pie. It had so much raw onions on it that he couldn't eat it. I'm not talking thin little slivers of onion, but huge heaping chunks of raw onion. I had a calzone with broccoli, sausage, and garlic. The sausage was undercooked and it had so much garlic that it was spicy! Some garlic lovers may like it this way, but not me! Overall, I think it's a convenient place and it has a really nice outdoor patio, but the food is very hit or miss...you're never going to get the same thing twice (literally).

After reading the great reviews, I decided to order our lunch from Panino's. I ordered portabella mushroom sandwich, four cheese Panini, pasta and French fries. OMG, it was the worst portabella sandwich I ever had. It was dry, cold and boring. The sandwich had couple slices of mushrooms and 3 tomatoes. I will never order from this place again. It was a waste of time and money.

I eat here all the time, ever since they opened the sit-down section, extending their service beyond pick-up and delivery. It's almost always a really good experience. Very good Italian food in a casual, tucked-away place you wouldn't expect to find it. The menu is nice and big. Lots of pasta options. Good pizza. Decent salads. Good sandwiches and paninis. And if you're feeling a little unhealthy, try their signature timpanos- basically a calzone with pasta (among other things) cooked inside. The gnocchi is a favorite of mine along with the baked rigatoni. As for dessert- they have a heart-stopping pi-zookie. A giant baked cookie with a mound of ice cream melting on top. I don't think its fat-free... but it's incredible. There's always seating available, it's usually pretty quiet. The place is small and very casual. Service is always friendly and attentive.

The only reason I gave Panino's two stars (instead of one), is because after having read other reviews, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that their pizza is kick-ass. Unfortunately, I did not order pizza. I ordered a (very) basic pasta dish that contained sauteed vegetables in an oil sauce. Sounds harmless, right? WRONG! This was perhaps the worst pasta I have ever had in my life. I'm convinced the problem was lurking in the ingredients. When preparing something so unadulterated as vegetables over noodles, it is imperative that the ingredients are fresh (or at least not from a bag that can be found in the frozen-food section). Every single vegetable on my plate tasted like it had been living in the back of someone's freezer for 6 months, then boiled in butter and salty chicken broth. Mmm, delicious. I went with two friends and both of their meals were equally bad (but again, none of us ordered pizza). I feel especially bad because our server was nice and the place seems really cute. I guess the moral of the story is only order pizza here. Bummer.

I love Paninos! The stuffed pizza is amazing - the sauce is tasty and the ingredients always seem top-notch! I like the veggie stuffed pizza a lot. I've also had their chicken parm, which is great (and I like that they give you pasta and broccoli with it). I used to live right near Paninos and would eat there about three times a week. Now, I'm a little further away and don't get there as often. The wait staff is outstanding and Lenny, the owner, is a great guy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Great food!

This was straight up, good, Chicago style cracker crust. Thin crisp crust, nice sauce, good amount of cheese, greasy, and cut into squares. It wasn't what I was looking for, but it was good. Prices were average. Delivery time of 45 minutes was almost exactly spot on. A good experience from order through delivery to dining.

I love, love, love the caprese pannini from this place! I have only done carry out and delivery so I can't comment on the eat in experience. It's an awesome place for more of a variety than just pizza and the regular bar food. My only comment is they are less than a mile from me and by the time the food is delivered is already room temp.

Im a huge fan of panino's from the cute polite boys behind the counters in the front, to the well dressed and appropriate servers in the dining area in the back. Its not too pricey and is one of those places I usually eat at everyday haha. I grab a slice of pizza for lunch, I work right nearby and order take out or dine in with my boyfriend some evenings. Being Italian I approve!! They always get my order right, on time, and in a polite manner. I would give them 5 stars but i did have this rude delivery girl. i don't know who the hell she was but she insisted that I swore at her on my intercom, it was weird and she was out of control.

Panino's is a favorite of mine. Everything there (except maybe the salads which are only average) is very good. The pasta dishes are usually good, and some are really old style authentic (Don't order the Mama's sunday brunch unless you know what your getting into - not everyone likes beef braciole or stewed rib marrow in their pasta). Recommendations would include: Any pizza, Baked Rigatoni (although all the pastas are pretty good), their Timpanos and Calzones are great, their hamburgers are big and juicy, and their sandwiches are very tasty (the Modena panini is my fav).

Good outdoor seating in an area with limited outdoor seating. Pizza by the slice is sort might seem overpriced but it's a really big slice so I think it makes up for it. The pizza itself it pretty good, but it's more like NY style so it's wide and flat and foldable, and they don't skimp on the grease. Sitting inside is nice too with a waitstaff that's friendly and quick. I don't really have any complaints for this place. I mostly just enjoy walking by and smelling the pizza.

Pretty tasty. I forgot the exact name of what I had, but it was like a pot pie with a breaded bottom and side crust, except there was chicken, rotini and cheese in the middle and baked cheese over the top. The portion size was large and the leftovers are still good in the microwave. My boyfriend had the lasagna, liked it, and was impressed that it seemed fresh despite ordering it on a Sunday night (an hour before closing). Atmosphere is a good mix of casual plus fancy.. By that I mean they decorated very nicely inside, but you still don't feel out of place walking in with shorts / tshirt. [Beware that my version of "fancy" may be lower class than most people.] Outdoor seating available (about 6 small tables). Ladies restroom was very clean. Service was adequate- waiter was nice, prompt, but the busboy forgot to replace a beer after he asked if we wanted another. Menu selection is large. There are several things I plan to try in my next visits, and if my experiences are still good, I'll raise my rating from 4 stars to 5. 2nd experience- Italian style risotto was just ok. But it was the first time I've ever had risotto, so maybe it is supposed to taste like that.

We went here late on a Friday night for a light dinner, and it was delicious. We ate appetizers for our meal, with two of us getting the mushroom caprese salad special, and another ordering the crab cakes. The friendly service was attentive, but not hovering, and the food was very tasty. I had a glass of Riesling white wine, which was very good as well. This was a great stop for an affordable bite to eat in Lakeview.

this is the go to pizza place anytime- delivery, dine-in, or a slice to go! amazing thin crust pizza with a lovely, not too sweet sauce. great italian dishes if you visit the restauranty side of the place on waveland. and huge slices for $2.50 if you are stumbling around the neighborhood and in need of a quick fix. paninos and i are past menus- i have their magnet on my fridge! delivery is always quick and reliable. service on the restaurant side is pleasant and quick. the only reason they don't get 5 stars is because i have never seen them have a special- it's not too pricey in the world of pizza, but what about a coupon every once in a while?

it's a good option for a quick lunch if you're in the area. you can get a slice of whole wheat veggie pizza for under $4. it's a huge slice and very filling. they have cheaper slices, but the veggie pizza is always enticing. i've had much better pizza in the city, but when i'm in the area and only have a 5 spot, it's a good option.

Man! Where do I begin. It'd be a grave injustice to say this place serves food. My friend who ate there got sick and threw up. The vegetables they use in their entrees are frozen, probably bought at Jewel for buck thirty a pound. Cheese in their pizza is slightly easier to swallow than chewing gum. Cleanliness, service, price...let's just group them together under the 'below average' category. I live 2 blocks away and even though it's conveniently located I'll give away my first born rather than going back here for...food, if that's what they call it down there.

I've been to the restaurant side once and the carry-out side more times than I can count. Can't beat a slice of cheese pizza for $2.50 on your way home when you don't feel like cooking! The restaurant is small and cozy. When I was in there, the owners and wait staff seemed to know almost everyone in there which means they must do a lot of repeat business which can only mean good things. Portions are fairly large too. The carry-out side has everything from pizza to pasta to hot dogs and sandwiches. I generally get the same things, either a slice of pizza, hot dog and fries or chicken fajitas rolls. The delivery people are in and out constantly so it's popular for delivery too. Fast turnaround so you're not waiting long or it's in a shopping plaza so you can duck out for a sec and be back in time for your food. I gave it 4 stars b/c whenever I order the chicken fajitas rolls, they ring up at $5.50 whereas the menu says $4.95 which is not much money but it's every time. Sometimes I say something, sometimes I don't. I haven't seen it with other times but I would check your receipt against the menu to verify prices, it could easily be the same with other items as well.

I live right down the street from this location and the food is always consistent. I've ordered pizza, pasta, sandwiches, burgers and all have been pretty good. The best thing I like about this location is pizza by the slice. Quick, easy and tasty. Can't go wrong with either thin crust or deep dish. Great crust. Order is always fast and food hot. -1 customer service. Some new girl acts as if you are inconveniencing her for picking up an order. First she was watching tv as I stood there. No eye contact. Swiped my card, gave me my food without saying a word. Weird.

All around great food & service. We ate on the dine-in side and the atmosphere is so relaxing after a long day of running around the city, they had nice music and good lighting. Staff is extra friendly and makes sure you are taken care of. We ordered the Caesar salad, the Margherita pizza, as well as the Salumi pizza to split between us. As a huge fan of Caesar salad I must say this is one of the best I've ever had, great dressing, croutons, etc, not too heavy. Pizza is to die for if you're like me and like a little thinner pizza, both the Margherita and Salumi were exceptional.

Panino's is both a restaurant, on Waveland, and a take-out pizzeria on Broadway. We have frequented both. Their pizzas are delicious and really what they do best. You can't go wrong ordering one from the take-out / delivery service. The restaurant is nice as well if you want to eat out. I would still go with the pizza though as not all of the items on the menu are the same quality/freshness as their pizzas. The absolute best part of the restaurant is the head waiter, Valentino. He is worth his weight in gold and I sincerely hope the owner realizes this! He has always made us feel so very welcome and taken excellent care of us. He remembers your previous orders and is an absolute pleasure.

Wow. Grub Hub and I just shared a speechless moment of astonishment over the phone on this one. Where should I begin this woesome tale of horror? Let's make a bullet list, as my tongue goes numb... 1) The order was not the amount quoted on GH. There was a mystery soft-drink tax added despite there being no soft drinks ordered, and the sales tax was calculated differently than the original order as well, making the total even higher than anticipated. 2) I went out of my way to call and request a phone call before the order arrived at the building so I could prepare, as I'm taking care of someone, it was important. They said NO PROBLEM ABSOLUTELY. Not only did they not call, they didn't alert grub hub that it had even been delivered. 3) It was 52$ before tip for food cheaper and less appetizing than Mickey D's. There were waters, 2 juices, & a few desserts, however. Still, food is definitely overpriced. 4) Extremely cheap food. Low quality Orida style frozen fries. Heartburn. VERY Bad! Boneless chicken wings are glorified chicken nuggets. Cheapest stale white bun you can buy. 5) The chocolate mousse cake which was tiny and 6$ REEKED STRONGLY of pest killer/rat/roach spray. So much so everyone leapt backwards when they opened it because the smell floored them. I'm really hoping I don't end up in hospital! I could go on, but I'm feeling rather nauseous now, best go say hi to my porcelain friend. Help!! *Grubhub was very kind*

Amazing service at this small Italian restaurant with the most delicious gluten free pasta dishes and pizza we've had in the city. We ordered a grilled calamari starter, that was nicely cooked with a soft (and not too chewy) texture. This was followed by a simple, though flavorful Margherita Pizza with a crisp and not too thick crust and a mixed seafood pasta dish with a lovely red wine sauce over perfectly prepared gluten free pasta. This was followed by a sinfully rich hazelnut gelato with caramel sauce and whipped cream. The staff was so friendly and eager to accomodate my wheat allergy and they capped our wonderful dinner with a shot of amaretto licor, on the house. My only complaint is that hte food was so good we ate it all (we had ordered hoping for leftovers) and were super full. We will be back to this lakeview gem! Oh and lastly, on our way out the door I forgot my purse and the busboy ran out after me to make sure I did not go home without my purse! Wonderful food, lovely people, great service. What more could you want?

I've ordered from this place several times, often they miss something from my order... A minor item or two, no big deal. Recently they changed the way orders are processed and half my order was missing. Little did I know until they showed up without the options. So I called and the man was rude and completely ignorant. You would think as a small business they would be smart enough to fill my order without an argument rather than losing a customer. Guess not, would not recommend - customer service is terrible.

This place is the fucking worst. The CONSTANTLY run out of pizza and don't think ahead to put a new one in until they're already out. They tell you it will be two minutes and you wait 15 (you have to because they make you pay right away). To top it off, they regularly close much earlier than advertised. Step 1. Rent the 1996 movie Big Night starring Stanley Tucci and Tony Shalhoub. Step 2. Salivate over the timballo (or timpano) dish that they prepare and serve during a pivotal scene in the movie. Step 3. Visit Panino's (or order online, as we did) for their meat timballo (served with sausage, meatballs, and mortadella). Step 4. Thank me. (Of course, you could skip straight to Step 3 and be very happy.) I left out a step of my own personal journey, which is where I searched and searched for timballo/timpano in Chicago. I'm sure there are other establishments that have it, but Panino's was the first place that I found, and I could not be happier with the finding. Timpano is a baked pasta dish served in dough and resembling a cake or pie-shaped calzone, and Panino's timpano is delicious. We made the (tasty) mistake of ordering two -- one for each of us -- assuming that $12.50 was a personal-size timpano. This resulted in several meals of leftovers. We ordered online, so I cannot speak to the decor or service at Panino's (although our delivery guy was very friendly). I can only say that their food was great and it hit the spot for this dish. We also ordered cannolis, which were quite large and pretty good, although I was already in a food coma by the time I ate mine. Bottom line: Try the timpano here. There are three other varieties to sample if you're a vegetarian or want something a little less meaty. One is a good size for two or three people.

I have order take delivery and takeout from Panino's several times since moving to Chicago and I am very happy. We've tried the Neapolitan style pizza, eggplant Parmesan, chicken saltambuca and the penne primavera. All were delicious and satisfying. The margherita pizza was perfectly thin and crispy yet soft. Very good crust. The eggplant Parmesan is one of my favorites for delivery. My guy had the others and he was very content. Delivery is also quick. The delivery guys are always polite and prices are totally reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

On the outside, Panino's looks like a typical pizza place. On the inside, it's a cute Italian cafe with amazing pizza. We ordered 3 of the artisan neapolitan pizzas: salumi, rustica, and parma. All 3 had crispy crush and quality toppings. I don't even think it's fair that I even pick a favorite -- I enjoyed all of them! In addition, nice atmosphere and great service. You can really tell that a lot of love goes into that place. I'd definitely recommend Panino's.

My review is based on their gluten-free pizza option. Can't speak at all to their other pizza options cuz I can't eat 'em! As far as the gluten-free pizza goes... It's made on Udi's frozen gluten-free crust. Don't get me wrong, Udi's is an awesome option for those of us who can't eat wheat-based crusts! But when it comes from a pizza joint, just TELL me that it's gonna be made on Udi's. That's all I ask. I'll still order it from you. But if you tell me that it's Udi's, I'll know to turn my oven on and heat my pizza stone ahead of time, because for some strange reason pizza joints just can't seem to figure out that you need to pre-bake the Udi's to prevent it from getting soggy in the middle. Annoying. The sauce was good. The cheese was good. But the Udi's was soft in the middle. Imagine that. Cheers for offering a gluten-free option, but I beg of you, please be open about it coming from a pre-made frozen crust. Oh, I also ordered some tots. They were totally unseasoned and soggy, too. Lame.

The food was already cold when it arrived- cheese completely coagulated on the pizza. Soup was barely warm. $20 for a 10" pizza and a soup, which are both no longer hot after delivery, for some reason. Okay, so I call the restaurant to explain the situation, to get hung up on. I call back and the 'manager' begins yelling at myself over the phone saying that 'that's not how things work' and that 'there is no way the food is cold we said it would be there within an hour and it was' Last time I checked, saying that your food will be there within an hour, generally means that it will be there within an hour of being placed, not after coming out of the oven. They offered me a discount after arguing for about 5 minutes, I said keep your discount, your food is alright, but not worth terrible customer service. A customer of nearly 4 years gone over one mistake and a terrible restaurant owner's unwillingness to accept responsibility for his employee's actions. Make what you will of this review.

Donuts are the new pie and pie was the new cupcake. That's all fine and dandy, but I don't really have a sweet tooth. It seems like the only savory trend that caught on recently was bacon and bacon is so 4 years ago. Ladies and gentlemen...allow me to present...ARANCINI!!! Say it with me. AIR-UN-CHEE-KNEE. For those of you not familiar with Sicilian food, arancini are little balls of fried rice, which are stuffed with filling. The classic filling (which is what they carry at Panino's) is bolognese sauce, mozzarella cheese and peas. The peas are what make it Sicilian. At least, I think that is what Giada De Laurentiis said on her show. I usually only pay attention to her boobs. Anyway, arancini are amazeballs. I hate the word "amazeballs" but how else would you describe balls that taste amazing? It would be very easy for me to make several innuendos in a review about balls, but I will take the high road because I am a lady. (Stop snickering) As for the rest of the menu, the pizza is better than most. It's not my favorite, but it will do in a pinch as they always have both thin and thick slices available for takeout. But they also always have arancini available, so why would you not just order them? If you go in and don't see them in the heated case, just ask and they will fry you some up. They also have a very respectable gelato selection at a fraction of the cost of Whole Foods across the street. Arancini are the next cool thing. I predict that soon more restaurants will offer their own take, as the filling possibilities are endless. Be ahead of the hipsters and buy some arancini. Then when some mustached punk asks you if you have ever tried them, school his ass and be like, "Yeah, they're awesome. Did you know that arancini comes from the Italian word arancina, which means 'little orange'? Well, did 'ya, punk?"

I have ordered a few pizzas from here over the past two years. Pretty good, bought a little doughy in my opinion. They also have a full Italian menu, which I have not tried, but from a friend's opinion it is pretty solid. Located just north of Addison - it is not swamped with tourists or drunk baseball fans. Nice little neighborhood place. Will probably be back at some point in the future if I'm in the area.

It's a chilly evening and the thought of going anywhere but straight home from work is just horrifying. What's also horrifying is the fact you have nothing for dinner at home so what do you do? Not go back out of course. Soo, you jump on GrubHub, the only option you have is delivery right? What sounds good? Pizza, pizza sounds good. You scroll and peek at a menu here and there, everything looks good. But the stars, you have to pick something with at least 3.5 to 4 stars. Which place has 4 stars and a satisfying menu? Panino's does. What do you chose? Well a Margherita pizza, and oh let's throw in mozzarella sticks for the comfort of it. Everything's going great, you decided what to eat, you're getting mozzarella sticks! What could go wrong? The total is a little much, but that's ok. The estimated delivery time is a little much, but that's expected. So you wait. And then the phone rings, and gasp! It's the delivery man, he's early! You throw on shoes, make sure you don't look too tousled and rush down the side steps two at time. There he is with your pizza, the box is huge and is wrapped in a cute little paper bag exclaiming "Buon Appetito!" You run back up the stairs two at a time again, eager to rip open the paper and throw up the top of the pizza box and to take a whiff of the scent that is a freshly baked pizza. But there is none. You open the box and to your grand disappointment the pizza is much smaller and much, much less appealing to the eye than you anticipated. And not just that, it's a little burnt. Then it gets worse, the worst of the worse. It's cold. But whatever it's dinner, cold pizza could be okay still. The first bite comes. Ugh! What is this awful flavor!? What is this sauce?! This could not have been made recently. In fact you've determined it must've been made last night and thrown into an oven for just one minute before it was shipped out. You can't even continue eating! What a waste! There's still the mozzarella sticks though, and the marinara sauce! But nooooo it's the same story as the pizza, cold and old. This place will make you swear off delivering from places you don't know, you're beginning to think. Screw the 4 stars, it's a 1 star place.

Ordered online and wound up being painfully disappointed. By the time my food arrived (almost an hour after ordering), the cheese on my pizza had pretty much solidified, the crust was painfully soggy, and my fries were greasy and soggy and their only saving grace was that I could drown them in cheese. Really, the only reason I'm tacking on a second star is that, flavor wise, there's definitely some potential, but not enough to make me ever consider ordering from them for delivery in the future.

I don't ask for much, but a hospitality vendor needs to be hospitable. Our group of seven came for a quick evening meal. Asked for bread and never got it. 6 entrees were prompt, but one was forgotten and the absent minded server never noticed; then blamed the kitchen. Only the older gentleman server notice 6 of us not eating out entrees and then informed ours. We expected a prompt correction but sat empty forked and waiting. Fucking gnocchi took 15 minutes to remake. Thankfully we liked our fellow patron and fed him from our plates like a Salvation Army. Redemption was denied when they still charged us $16 for the gnocchi. And never delivered any bread.

We purchased the cheese deep dish slices from here and I honestly loved it. If you want delicious, authentic, melt in your mouth deep dish then this is the place I would recommend. I was full from one slice and we got to eat it outside on the chairs. I will definitely be back to grab another slice!

Owner, if you are reading this I simply have one suggestion based on my experience tonight (which was my first for these dishes on your menu), More Sauce. More, More. On the Spaghetti and Eggplant Parmagian. Received both of those a few minutes ago and they are both as dry as a bone (and for an Eggplant Parmesan...all you really taste then, is the oil. Skimping out on the sauce is skimping out on the best flavors. I was disappointed.

This is speaking for delivery only, since I have never dined in. Paninos is my boyfriend and I's go to delivery spot. We love the thin crust pizza, their baked rigatoni and panzerottis especially! The fried food can be really hit or miss. Sometimes they are perfect and crisp and delicious, other times they're a soggy mess. But other then that we have never had a problem!

The atmosphere of the restaurant was very cute and quaint. We started with $8 martinis that were very good. They brought us out bread as a starter, both regular and focaccia. I had the chicken Parmesan which was good, not the best I've ever had though. My girlfriend and her friend split the Capriccossa pizza, cooked well done without tomato sauce. Pizza was very well done, would recommend that. I would be happy to come back and try other items on the menu. Another great place to go if you are looking for family owned with a nice atmosphere.

Our go-to pizza place for delivery - always get our pizza piping hot and amazingly fast. We always order the thin crust with a variety of different toppings and it is perfect every time. On occasion we stop in for a quick slice or a sandwich (they have a few seats outside) or we go to their sit down restaurant for the absolutely best wood fire pizza in the city. Top that all off with gelato for a perfect meal. Delicious!!!

This place is a complete joke. Ordered delivery online. Driver couldn't figure out how to use the buzzer. Calamari was soggy, cold and not edible. Fries... the same disaster. Cheesy beef... warm, but 1 piece of cold dry beef... awesome. $14 Ravioli - There were 4! Cheese Ravioli at 3.75 a ravioli better be at least hot, but fear not it was ice cold, bland, and not memorable in any way. Called and asked for a refund, got $10 off. Customer service is not in their training program nor is good food anymore. Too bad because I used to order from this place once a week at one point. Stay away...stay far away.

Amazing food for an Italian take out. Be sure to try the daily specials, you won't be dissapointed at all. If you like thin crust pizza, they got it. Hands down the best. For a little more romantic atmosphere and table service, pop around the corner (W Waveland Ave side) and enjoy some great ambiance and more relaxed dining. By far one of the best selections for Italian in the Lakeview East area. Dont be fooled because its a hole in the wall place, you'll be sorry you missed out! Thank you, Yelp! This is the new benchmark for the next time I return to Chicago. This is some of the best pizza sauce I ever had, and that includes New York as well as deep dish. The cheese was good, the crust was nice and crispy, the toppings were well represented. Overall it was a four-star experience, except that sauce just raised everything to another level. I can't imagine eating deep dish without Panino's sauce, so I have to donate that extra star. Side note: Don't expect to eat here. There's a lounge, but it's separate, and it's only for people ordering out of the lounge. If you're a pizza dweller, you're eating outside or bringing it back to your cave. It's a slight negative, since Chicago's weather is often not conducive to outdoor eating, but fortunately I was able to eat outside, and again, that sauce. That sauce. I dream about that sauce. I would drink a gallon of that sauce if the only reward were the satisfaction of having consumed that sauce.

I was fortunate enough to live in walking distance of Panino's. 5 stars for great food for a good value, having a private parking lot, and for never disappointing. One of the big factors that make me love this place is their Arancini, which I just call their "rice balls" ha. I would buy these from their case, $1.50 ea. They're basically balls of rice, stuffed with sauce, beef, peas, and cheese, and then breaded and deep fried - they're seriously so addicting so take caution. I love their neopolitan pizza - if you have the time to wait for a custom pizza, order one of these rather than grabbing by-the-slice. The crust is so much better and more brick oven-y. They also offer daily specials - I've enjoyed their baked ziti with ricotta. I also am a fan of their clams & linguini in which you can choose white or red sauce. My roommate loved their Bosco Stix too. I see now that they have baked clams as an app, and I'm mad that I'm not eating them. I've never dined in. I think that their menus are different, and the takeout items are less expensive.

I ordered delivery via Grub Hub earlier today. The delivery time was pretty quick, especially for deep dish pizza. I ordered: Sicilian Deep Dish w/sausage, bacon, and pepperoni, an order of Bosco Sticks, and a Brownie. The bosco sticks were a nice throwback for me. I don't think I've had those in at least ten years. Probably will be a while before I order them again, but hey. They tasted good. The pizza! This place came up on here and GrubHub as delivering to my place, and since I haven't had it yet-I opted to give it a shot. I liked it. The Sicilian type deep dish was a nice split the difference pizza for me. The crust had more of a corn meal taste to it that reminded me a bit of Gino's East, but was quite different. The toppings were fine as well. The Brownie...was disappointing. I think it was karma telling me not to order a brownie for lunch delivery. It was literally from a Sara Lee snack pack box...one of those individually wrapped on a piece of card stock Sara Lee (not joking) brownies. I thought they'd be something more homemade than that-at least from a local-ish bakery. However, meh-I learned.

First time I tried this place I was real happy w/ a to go order of soup w/ a slice of pizza. I decided to try them out for lunch delivery today and ordered off the special list from THEIR website-http://www.paninospizzeria.com/chicago/Âpdf/PaninosChicagoMealDeals.pdf We ordered spaghetti w/ 2 meatballs-$9.95, a Boston Cheese steak w/ soup-$6.95, an 8 piece Chicken-$12.95. That adds up to $29.85 probably another $4 for delivery and tax,no more then $33 or $34 total. The guy I ordered from was rude and curt the whole time and then tells me its $42. I went over the listed prices and he tells me I'm wrong and proceeds to tell me the "correct prices" are you KIDDING me???? I order takeout 3-4 times a week but never from here now!

It's probably my favorite deep dish in the city. I always order take-out. The staff who answers the phone is very polite. The food is done quickly and correct. I can't really say too much more than that. I like their cucumber and tomato salad and I usually get a medium deep dish with sausage, green pepper and onion. Everything is really good.

Just got my order. Spent $47.67. The Pizza was good and very pleased. The Diet Coke was good and very pleased. The chocolate chip cookies were 3" circles (I measured) of the cheapest ingredients possible. Cookie fans: you know exactly what I mean. $1.20 each (ordered two) The cheesecake was a tiny triangle in a prepackaged air tight plastic container that looked like it came straight out of a vending machine. The triangle had 2 sides that were 4 inches and the base 2 inches. ($3.95) And finally, the boneless chicken wings. This was small bits and pieces of random chunks of deep friend chicken (I hope). This made even chicken mcnuggets look like caviar. Horrid. $6.50. Besides the pizza and diet coke everything else went directly into the garbage. Beware. I wish grubhub would have pictures of exactly what you were ordering....

The food is decently priced. However the pizza isn't all that spectacular. It was really greasy and the white sauce was barely on the pizza. The atmosphere was relaxed, our server was quick to check on us. However once we had our food it took her forever to come back to us to check in and we wanted to leave and pay. I have to be honest-I don't find pizza to be very exciting. My company orders it for meetings frequently and I dread it every time. With that said, Paninos is unlike any pizza I've tried before. I had a simple new York slice of sausage and it was packed with all the right flavors and a great texture. For the price you can't beat it. I conveniently just moved to the neighborhood. I ordered from these guys for the first time, yesterday. The delivery person was prompt and friendly. I ordered a medium, thin crust, deluxe pizza and a spinach salad. Much to my surprise, the pizza was fabulous! Perfectly crispy crust and correct balance of all the ingredients! Super fresh and the high quality is amazing for the price point. The spinach salad was abundant and super fresh. The goat cheese was also exceptionally fresh. I am super impressed! This will now be my regular pizza place for thin crust! We found Panino's by googling pizza places in our new area and we definitely got really lucky with the find. This has become our go-to pizza delivery on the weekends - we usually get a thin crust pepperoni pizza. The crust is crispy but not paper thin, and we both love the sauce. We've ordered a few appetizers and sandwiches from here which have been fine(club wrap is good, the buffalo chicken sandwich is just so-so) but pizza is definitely their forte. I definitely recommend this place for pizza, we have never been to a restaurant location but plan to soon!

This place has the best pizza in edge water. I would have given it 5 stars but I had an awful experience with delivery that it left such an awful taste in my mouth. I ordered a large pizza and the delivery guy couldn't find my apt which is in a very accessible area. Long story short the delivery guy was arguing with me on the phone and finally he found my place but decided to leave the pizza on the steps outside my apt complex. When I looked out my window I saw him double parked smoke a cig and drive away quickly. When I called him up and asked him why he didn't bring it up he said to call the restaurant and they would take care of it. To some it up, great pizza but the managers/owners need to be more selective hiring the delivery people. Being a business owner I could never continue to have a successful business if I didn't have a good staff.

After recently moving to Lakeview, we decided we wanted to start trying new places in the hood. What started innocently enough and with the best intentions ended up with "I've had better frozen pizzas." Although you did delivery during the 45-60 minute window you gave us, $20 for a cold, sloppily presented (I should have taken pictures, but pieces were stacked on top of each other from shifting around) 10" pizza was a little ridiculous if you ask me...Especially since it seemed like the pizza had been sitting on your counter for the last 30-45 minutes before it was delivered Sorry Panino's, we really wanted to love you. There are two sides to Panino's, the restaurant and the delivery/take-out. This review is for the restaurant side off of Waveland. We've lived within walking distance of Panino's since 2007. Loved it then, love it even more now. They have updated their look as well as their menu. They continue to improve upon their food choices. They now have a pizza oven that made one of the best Parma Pizza's that I've ever had - it was East Coast style and wonderful! The baked clams were also very good for an appetizer. Give the restaurant a chance, you'll enjoy it.

I've been a happy customer for years. Usually I order take out Lasagna, which is as good as it gets, and a great value (huge portion, that can be used for two meals). At times I'll stop in and sit at the cozy bar. Or surprise my friends for a quaint and comfortable dining experience where you can hear the conversation, enjoy delicious food and be pleasantly surprised when the reasonable check is delivered. Today, however, I had to write!!! I tried the Escarole and Sausage Soup. I thought it was a great night for some take home soup! It was outstanding!!! ...and I'm very difficult to impress. I needed a place big enough for 20 of my crazy friends to all enjoy dinner with my friends on my bday. The yelp app helped me find this gem that I'd NEVER even been to in an area that I love to party in! A month before my bday I went up and checked out the restaurant. The slices were huge! I had two pepperoni pieces. I went back to the other side and made my reservation. The manager said he would call me 2 days beforehand to confirm. ************FAST FORWARD TO 9-10-13 (2 days before)************** No phone call?????!!!! #WhatHadHappened?????!!! I called Panino's to ask why I didn't receive my phone call?? The manager NEVER PUT MY RESERVATION IN!!! Thank goodness I called cuz I would've been madder than a son of a bitch if I showed up and they were not prepared!! (#FINISHHIM) They handled my group well! I was so pleased! We were all fresh out of a party limo, and had been drinking for an hour so everyone was tipsy!! The waitress took my bday cake and brought it when we were ready for it. They offered to put candles in my cake but I don't like blowing over a cake I'm sharing with everyone. Especially if I'm tipsy lol!! We will leave saliva out of the equation! I had the pepperoni pizza again, and you better believe I ate out of my friends plates! I tried gnocchi, calamari, another fancier pizza I can't remember what kind it was, and some bodies egg plant dish!! I had other stuff as well but I can't remember. I also drank quite a few Stella Artois!! We spent two hours there, and spent 500 bucks. I didn't get to try the homemade gelato, but I will in the future!! Check this place out!! What can I say... GREAT pizza. I made a mistake and went to the front side because I wanted to sit and eat... However they only sell whole pies and meals for a couple of people. Nothing that will feed just one person. Disappointed I went to the back side and order from the take out counter. Panino's is the closest pizza joint to my house, I'll stop by to grab a slice here & there from the carry-out section, but lately I've been trying to make myself visit the sit-down side more often. First, they start you off with that amazing bread basket featuring warm & toasty focaccia, olive oil & parmesan. So. Good. I also LOVE that they now have the Neapolitan style pizza... if you know me at all you know that I prefer my pizza to be thin, crispy & bubbly. Panino's does not disappoint in this department. I usually get the pizza that comes with arugula on top, and it is so tasty. Prices on the pasta dishes seem a little high to me, but the pizzas are right on target. I've always had good service here, and during the summer they have a great little outdoor patio. Granted, it isn't in the nicest location, you get your choice of looking at the interesting clientele that like to hang by the Center on Halsted, or the side of the Brown Elephant. But, whatever. Bring me a glass of wine & some of that pizza & call it a night.

My father was born and raised in southern Italy so I know good Italian food when I eat it. This place is more than just its pizza, although the gourmet pizzas are very good--if you eat in be prepared to wait a good half hour at least for a pizza. The food, mostly southern style, is very authentic and good. Don't let the small dining crowd fool you. The sheep are elsewhere being "seen" and eating crappy fake Italian food. This is the real deal, what your Italian relatives would make for a holiday meal. Lunch menu is very good too. I'm deducting one star for the horrible service, but that's not Panino's fault--seems all over Chicago service is atrocious, even in the high end establishments on Michigan Avenue and River North. It's so bad I think the city needs to address it.

This place is fantastic! 1 - I've had a sit down meal here in the restaurant portion with my family and it was fantastic. The wait staff was nice, the wine was delicious, and of course the pizza was so yummy! We got a couple appetizers that were definitely big enough to share! 2 - My fiance and I get a slice of their to-go deep dish at least once a month. It's fantastic, fast, fresh, a great price, and they always smile when we walk in the door! The only other thing I can say is besides the slices it's a little pricey in the restaurant portion, but I think the amount of food you get, and the quality is worth it. YUMMMMMMM

Well, I went during dinner time so it was busy... I went into the carry out area, which is small and not comfortable.... I waited 30 minutes for a single order of pasta and breadsticks. Their Bosco Stix are amazing!!! Anyway, the service was bad. Nobody acknowledged me for 30 minutes or said," Hey, let me check on your order...". I had to ask multiple times... I hate this... When I placed the order it had not been real busy so he said, "Five or ten minutes..." Well, I checked my reciept time stamp, another great reason for saving them for a day or two, and noticed no wonder why I'm so irritable!!! I waited 30 minutes!!!! This should not have happened... The food is pretty good so I will most likely return but put them on notice that another one like that and thou shan't return!!!! Their portions are big so need not order appetizers unless you split it... Call ahead if you order around 6 or 7 for dinner time...

Best stuffed pizza I have had yet. I have been here at least 3 times and I'm not sure what it is, but the sauce is fantastic, and the crust is always perfect (not too crunchy or doughy - right in the middle). Anyways, ordered pickup and when I picked it up, it was not what I wanted (in hindsight, it was my fault), so I called back and the manager was super cool and re did it the way i wanted. No grief either. Conclusion: Great food, an amazing amount of extra food variety, and the manager is a cool guy if you screw up your own order.

So last night I ordered in some delivery from Panino's. I ordered one of the artisan pizzas. The delivery time took about the same time that was approximated and the delivery guy was pleasant. The pizza arrived somewhat cold but I guess that comes with having it delivered vs eating it in the restaurant. I really didn't find it to be spectacular pizza. But it was good. The ingredients on the pizza were definitely fresh, so I appreciated that. I am not from Chicago , so I am not a total fan of the deep dish pizza. The thin crust dough was great and slightly charred. It was really good. Just on the cold side. I really couldn't appreciate this amazing pizza sauce everyone keeps mentioning. I am willing to try everything twice && Perhaps I'll order the plain ol cheese pizza next time to really appreciate it. The pizza wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. Again- I'm willing to give it another shot. Maybe I'll dine in next time ....

Great delivery services! The food is yummy, fairly standard Italian fare. They are always on time, regardless of whether you order by phone or online. If you go to the restaurant, note that there's a "fancy" side and a takeout side, both of which are decked out accordingly. Gets the job done and keeps it classy in a number of ways! Check it out when you're in the area and need more options than what bars offer.

I am finished. D-O-N-E with Panino's. I have ordered take-out from them many times and the first few were great, excellent even. But then items began to be left out of orders, and the food when downhill. Panino's always credited my account with the cost of the missing items and usually did what they could to keep me happy, even if the food was sliding down a slippery slope of brown guacamole and overly tart marinara. What sent me over the proverbial edge of my take-out fallout with Panino's was my rubbery, defrosted and then heated burger that contained remnants of God knows what, that almost cracked my tooth. Let me repeat that. A hamburger patty contained something so hard it almost cracked my tooth. WTF was in there?! Not to mention the translucent bacon and smear of truly disgusting guac that wallowed under that veil of "meat". I thought my meal would be salvaged by my side of curly fries, but no, they provided no flavor and were colder than the sidewalks outside. Arby's makes better curly fries. A lot better. I'm so sad to have to break up with Panino's. We've had some good times. But, disappoint me once, shame on you. Disappoint me twice, shame on me.

My friend and I ordered a deep dish pizza for take out. Spinach, mushrooms, and sausages because I wanted to a comparison to Giordano's. Um, the verdict is? Giordano wins. I was a little disappointed with how little spinach there was in the pizza. Um, this is a spinach pizza! Also, there were very few mushrooms too. What is going on here? Overall, there weren't many toppings. I mostly ate bread, tomato sauce, and cheese-- all of which is good, but damn it, I wanted my spinach, mushrooms, and sausages and in a good amount.

I had the pasta with fettuccine and chicken. This entree included a soup or salad and I opted for some soup. I had the minestrone soup. It was pretty delicious. Also, I remember that their piping warm toasted bread was really yummy. By the time my main dish came out, I was pretty full. It was likely due to the fact that I ordered some beer as well. I think what disguishes this restaurant are the servers. They were really great with the service and are pleasant on the eyes. A friend mentioned that their pizza here is really good too.

Whatever gives you a food boner, you must satisfy yourself! Of course flavor and quality mean everything when it comes to deciding where to eat. So really think about what you're getting for your money. In this case, quantity does matter and is just as important as quality. I love the style of this place. It reminds me of the pizza place I worked at when I was younger. But that is beside the point and I will actually touch on the points right now. Although this place has fantastic food, the prices do not match the quantity. You can find sandwiches and wraps that INCLUDE fries for cheaper at other places. Same idea goes for the appetizer menu. Small portion and expensive. I cannot complain about the quality and taste of the food because it's good. Not AMAZING but I have gone back a few times. Shop around though and try to find a better deal. $7.50 for a chicken sandwich, and only that? That's steep, especially when they nickel and dime you for tomatoes, lettuce, and other necessities to satisfy your food boner. Go to Byron's just down the street to get a sandwich, fries, and drink for the same price.

If you are a fan of thin crust as I am, do yourself a favor and order from Paninos. Go one step further and request the crust "extra thin." What you will be served is the perfect balance of crust,sauce,cheese, and toppings. Excellent sums it up. The employees have always been friendly and the delivery service has always been timely even in prime delivery hours. Pricing for Paninos is also very reasonable. I've been over Panino's for a while. When I first moved to the Lakeview neighborhood, I was obsessed with this place because they're food is pretty well-priced and they've got a really nice list of options. As I continued to eat Panino's, I realized that their food wasn't actually as great as it once was. It was basically losing quality every time I went. But most of all, their service was deteriorating. There was a slew of minor things that happened, like being overcharged etc... I won't get into it. My last straw with them was when they forgot to put cheese, lettuce, and tomato on two of the sandwiches I ordered. I walked all the way back, and told them. They remade the sandwiches and barely apologized. A week later, I ordered from them again and they made the exact same mistake AGAIN, come on... So I told the cashier and she was alright about it... told me to come back and talk to the manager for a refund because she wasn't able to give me one right there. Needless to say, the manager didn't give me a refund when I went back because he had no record of the mishap. When I asked him why he wouldn't just take my word for it, he shrugged. I understand messing up once, but twice on the same thing? Come on. The best way to keep customers coming back is to sincerely apologize and do whatever you can to make them at least somewhat satisfied. Very disappointed in Panino's.

Awesome pizza in an unexpected place. From the outside, Paninio's looks like nothing special, your typical pizza joint that is not too fancy but not super casual. However, Panino's has some of the best pizza in the city, you have to try their 'Neapolitan style' pies. My favorite is the Parma, which has prosciutto, arugula and parmesan. Tomato mozzarella salad is good as well, but I've never tried any of the pastas or entrees. Pizza is definitely their star, a must if you like in the neighborhood.

Their extra thin crust pizza is my go-to for delivery. One Sunday night I wanted something other than pizza and spent a good hour trying to figure out where to order from. I looked at Panino's great Yelp reviews for their pasta and thought I would give it a whirl. I like to test Italian food by their meatballs and love a good spaghetti marinara, so I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Oh boy, I was sad. The meatballs were worse than Trader Joe's turkey meatballs; they were bland and not firm enough. The pasta sauce had pretty much nothing to it, and isn't worth mentioning. Maybe I need to try one of their other pastas, but I was pretty disappointed. I had to add crushed red pepper, lots of Parmesan and cooked veggies to make it good. Shame, Shame. Their pizza really is delicious though!

Pizza looks like it could be good but after an hour later than when they said it would be here. GrubHub order and they couldn't get it touch with them. Garlic bread was soggy and the $25 pizza was more soggy it would be un-eatable without an oven. Would rather go Dominos, Papa Johns, or Pizza Hut in Chicago rather than them again...

So, I came to this cold and lonely corner of (what? Boystown? Lakeview? Buena Park? Uptown? what neighborhood is this???). Iin a strip mall. At night. And I was starving. And, maybe, a little cranky. I was hanging out with a married friend of mine I never get to see anymore and I was convinced that the night was going to end with me "ringing the alarm" in in that piece and causing a scene. Instead, I "got me bodied." Got dang, there is some good food here!! I wasn't going to mess around with dishes. I figure, if you're at a pizzeria, get a pizza. We got a pizza. We ordered a 16" thin crust deluxe and a few beers. We had a lot to catch up on and that seems to go better over booze. About midway into my second beer, I was doubting the wisdom of not getting an appetizer. My strength was low, my stomach was growling and I didn't have even the strength to chastise anyone. No strength to complain? Obviously, I was hurtin'. To my rescue, our waiter brought over mozzarella stix because i "looked like [i] could use them." If I could have flown to Vermont (much nicer this time of year than Iowa) and married him, I would have. As I finished devouring the stix (and scaring my college buddy off from having more than one), the pizza came. It smelled delicious. The sauce was sweet & savory. The cheese complimented the crust and the toppings were plentiful, crisp and succulent. Despite not having seen each other for months, we ate, slurped, drank and nom nommed in near silence. 16" v. two hungry guys = the pizza had no chance. By the time I pushed back from the table to survey the damage, there was grease on my face, my pants button strained to stay closed and I was dead sexy. "Good pizza. Johnny T happy. Johnny T want sleep." And I can't figure out how and why I am gaining weight.

So I've been ordering from Panino's on and off for years. I always stuck with their pastas and sandwiches. Truthfully, their pizza wasn't one of my favorites..until now. I had seen the new awning over the restaurant side and had heard good reviews about their new Neapolitan style pizzas. The last few times I had checked their website the Neas were only available for dine in and not delivery. Well last night I checked just to see and low and behold you could have them delivered. AMAZING! The problem with so many of the places that offer this style of pizza is that the pizzas are way to thin and arrive cold and soggy by the time they make it to your door. Not so with Panino's. The pizzas I ordered were still hot and fresh, the ingredients were top quality, and the crust was perfectly charred and chewy. You'll have to cut the pizza yourself when it gets to you but that is a small chore to pay to get such a great pie. I had to delete one star because the tomatoes on the salad I ordered were mushy and gross. However, shame on me for ordering anything with raw tomatoes in winter. Suffice to say, I've found a new go to when I'm craving Neapolitan style pizza delivered to my house.

You know those days when time gets away from you, you're deep in work mode, and the next thing you know it's 2 pm and you haven't yet ate lunch? Easy solution, I'm aware. Walk over to the fridge and cook something or at the very least, slap a sandwich together. Except... it's not so easy when the insides of your fridge are more naked than the beaches on the French side of St. Maarten! Panino's to the urban dweller's rescue. I called, placed my order for a $6.95 lunch special, and was acquainted with said food in 16 minutes. No lie. 16 minutes! I felt guilty for ordering delivery, but even the roundtrip walk would have taken 14 minutes between dealing with a high rise elevator and waiting for street lights to turn. Oh and the food-- it's legit. $7 + tip got me a grilled chicken Caesar pita, creamy roasted red pepper soup (get this please) and a Diet Coke. Lovely lunchin' in at my condo... do it!

Extensive menu with something to please everyone. It's hard to get bored with selections form every type of pizza you can imagine, every type of pasta and Italian standards. Only a couple of times have I had a bad meal (each time was just overcooked pasta). The food and service are very consistent, which is why I keep going back. Delivery ( 6 blocks for me) is ALWAYS fast and the delivery people are actually courteous and will talk to you like human beings. Good thing they are not around the corner or I'd go there almost every day.

I absolutely LOVE this pizza place for delivery. I wanted to try a new pizza place, and just stumbled across this on grub hub because the menu looked pretty versatile, and you could also add your own toppings. I order thin-crust goat cheese pizza (sometimes with pineapple--I know, weird choice, but I like it), and it is always incredibly delicious. I also have gotten the breadsticks and macaroni and cheese, both also soooo good. Panino's has now turned into my go-to for pizza delivery when I'm looking for thin-crust pizza!

Ok, two parts to this review, because in my head there are two parts to this restaurant. The pizza: love it. Paninos is close to us so delivery is very fast (I'm afraid I'm not sure if that's because of our location or just good service) and the pizza is always nice and hot when we get it. It's not our favorite pizza, but it's right up there. The rest of the menu: I'm pretty happy with it. Since I'm allergic to dairy and tomatoes most Italian restaurants are totally out for me. But Paninos has some nice size salads and appetizers that are tomato and dairy free (for those nights I don't live with the pain and have pizza) that I really like. The grilled calamari is a favorite of mine. The service is pretty good, nothing great but definitely good, and the decor is nice. All in all we really like Paninos and are glad is just a quick walk for us.

YUMMMM...had Panino's for dinner tonight and I am still in a food coma several hours later. It was one of those nights where my boyfriend and I could not think of what to order for dinner and stumbled upon a Panino's coupon that was expiring today and decided to give it a try. Here's a little breakdown of our meal: Mozzarella Sticks-5+ stars, not too greasy, not overcooked-all around deliciousness. Oh yea and the marinera sauce was pretty tasty too! Chicken Parmesan Sandwich-Bf got this, it was huge-he could barely finish it, and trust me, he can eat a lot. The bite I had was very flavorful with perfectly tender chicken, just the right amount of marinara sauce, and gooey melted mozzarella. I almost asked for a second bite. Gnocchi w/ Meat Sauce-I have been craving gnocchi quite a bit recently, I know I know weird craving, but this definitely hit the spot. Gnocchi itself tasted very fresh, not sure if Panino's is homemade, but it sure did taste like it. The meat sauce was the perfect balance of meat and sauce, well seasoned. Big enough for me to have lunch for tomorrow too! Even though it was just carryout, the service was very friendly and definitely made me want to come back to eat in their dining room. The best part was definitely that are food was still piping hot by the time we got back home, this includes driving around for a parking spot. Overall, a perfect Italian comfort meal!

My boyfriend and I couldn't decide what we wanted to do for dinner on Friday night and around 9 pm, we thought we'd try Panino's mainly because it's less than a 2 minute walk for us and we wanted pizza. As we walked in, we were seated promptly and given waters along with menus. We were florred at the decent prices for bottles of wine. We fogured wine would be pricy andcame into the restaurant thinking we'd just either have waters or a glass of wine. After looking at the prices, a bottle it was! We went with the large chicago stuffed pizza and our waiter nicely informed us that a medium would still be too big but we are still in the age where we like cold pizza for lunch the next day. We didn't take his advise, knowing fully that we wanted leftovers for the restof the weekend. As he came out with the pizza, we weren't shocked that I could only eat 1 slice and my boyfriend 2 small-ish slices. We finished our wine asked for a box and walked out with 5 slices to distribute over the weekend. The pizza tasted great! We're usually a little hesitant on ordering deep dish because of the horror stories we hear about the crust being dry and tough and we all know that the crust is the best part! I have to admit, the best part of the experience was the wait. We always feel rushed when we go out to restaurants and as we ordered, our waited told us it would be a 45 minute wait. As we waited we chatted, laughed and just talked nonsense, which after both working 50+ work weeks, we enjoyed very much. We have friends coming in from Germany this week and we've already decided we'll be taking them there for their introduction to deep dish puzza, even if it's not truly "Chicago".

I have to give a shout out to Panino's for the chicken strips. I LOVE THEM! We order all the time and they are my favorite comfort food....the sicilian deep dish pizza isn't bad either! My one complaint...the chicken strips are really expensive! 5 strips for $5.95..they are great BUT not enough food for $5.95...I will have to stop ordering at that price but they are delicious. Lower the price so I can order them again and give you 5 stars!

As an Elite member I assume it is my duty to portray reviews in an objective and friendly manner. This will not be one of them, but what is really strange about this review is it has little to do with the actual business reviewed here. Here is goes. I'm currently in a job search mode (hint....that means I sit home most of the day on the computer, calling folks, sending emails, and trying to enter the lovely 9-5 workplace.) This means that if I decide that lunch is a small pizza and a few organic micro brewed beers, then so be it. This particular day that was the case and I did a quick Yelp.com search for pizza joints close by my place and had good ratings. Panino's met both criteria. I jumped in my car and zipped on down. Panino's, located pretty much at the intersection of Waveland and Broadway has a small parking lot that several businesses share, 7-11 being one of them. I parked....walked across the small lot and waited to place my order. Several folks were eagerly waiting for their meals (order out....there really isn't any seating). Placing my order I was told it would be 15 minutes. Realizing I had a few minutes I walked a half block over to Whole Foods, picked up a few micro brewed beers and headed back...total time to pick up beers....7 minutes. When I arrived, my car had a boot on it?!?!?! A small guy got out of a car beside mine with a clipboard in hand. He approached me, told me the conversation was being recorded and told me the car was booted and asked if I understood it would cost $115 to remove it....I said "I DIDN"T UNDERSTAND" and asked why....he again said the "standardized comment" and he pointed to the sign on a pole near my car....it stated many things but one indicated I couldn't leave the parking lot after I patronized a business......I told him since I hadn't picked up my pizza nor paid for it, I hadn't concluded my business at Paninos...he continued to refuse my request so I headed to Paninos. The gentleman at counter indicated they didn't own the lot, which I in turn indicated that he nor is there anything to indicated "I was required to sit in my car until my pizza was ready." He reclutantly walked outside and told the guy I was waiting for a pizza....the parking guy indicated that he was going to be good guy and take it off. The moral of this story is this business is somewhat held hostage by a landlord that owns the parking lot. You can patronize a business but cannot walk across the street to the dry cleaners or you'll get booted. Unfortunately Paninos really doesn't seem to care such things happen even though you will probably wait for your food....get delivery if at all possible. But the worst part of this situation was that the pizza was really not that good. The thin crust was burnt all over and it was so greasy, I would consider this sub-standard pizza considering the many other establishments I've experienced.

Wow. My boyfriend and I were struggling to think of nearby place to eat, and all along, I was thinking there was a dearth of good restaurants in north Lakeview. Boy was I wrong. Is it possible on a Wednesday night to get great service, a nice glass of wine, a cozy atmosphere, and melt-in-your-mouth lamb chops? Um, yeah, if that place is Panino's. We had awesome pizza here before, but last night took it to whole new levels. Best part-- I didnt have sticker shock from the prices. Great value.

I eat here at least once a week, very delicious Chicago Pizza. The Grid Iron is an amazing deal if you have a small army to feed, but I usually stop in for pizza by the slice if I'm in the area. My boss and I always order from them when we work on Saturdays.

5 stars for the pizza! We ordered a pan-style sausage and mushroom. Amazing. Particularly liked the sauce. We ordered buffalo wings ($5.95) and received six VERY small chicken nuggets and a plastic thing with hot sauce in it. WTF. Minus one star for that. This would have made me even more mad if the pizza weren't so good. You should take those off of the menu, Panino's!

This is our, "I'm tired and have to do homework and don't want to cook" go-to. The pizza is delicious and therefore TROUBLE. I introduced my parents from out of town to their pizza and this is an e-mail they just sent to Paninos: "We are just sending a note to let you know that the half-baked pizza your Broadway Store made and delivered to my daugter last Monday night flew to Alaska on Tuesday morning, and we cooked and ate it last night. It was wonderful, and almost as good as eating them fresh in your restaurant. We baked it for 35 minutes at 400 degrees and the crust was crispy and the cheese browned nicely. Much better then the Pizza Uno we brought back several years ago which was soggy. My daughter discovered your pizza and we have eaten at your restaurant several times over the last year when we visit Chicago. It is our opinion you have the best Pizza in Chicago, and we have tried the others who are more famous. I like to think I know pizza to some degree since I owned a pizza place in Indiana many years ago, and managed a pizza place in Arizona while going to College, then opened and owned another in Alaska for 5 years. I like to think I have come to my senses now and do not work retail restaurants anymore. So thanks for working with us to do the half baked pizza and be assured we will be bringing one back every time we pass through Chicago." Needless to say, it's a great neighborhood joint with good pizza.

This pace is great. I don't think that I've ever had a bad meal there. their prices are good and the atmosphere is cozy. I tend to use their delivery service more than is healthy, but it's just so convenient and delicious. The double-crust pizza is excellent and I LOVE their burgers! YUM! The ONLY, ONLY, ONLY problem that I'v ever had here is that sometimes, they can't hear me when I call to order. Totally forgiveable, guys! :)

Panino's, I never even know you existed until last night. Where have I been living... under a rock? The bermuda triangle? My lovely friend Angie suggested we hit up Panino's for our pizza delivery last night... knowing I'm a D'ags girl she reassured me that this zzah was even better. I have to admit I was skeptical, but homegirl was right!! The delivery was fast and everything was piping hot when it arrived. The pizza was really some of the best thin crust delivery I've had... it's a total departure from the sweetness of the D'agostinos sauce, much more rich and tangy, but I loved it! Every bite (and there were many, many bites!!!). Super cheesy and a nice crunchy crust that held up well without getting soggy. They also have some of the best garlic breadsticks ever... I almost could have made a meal of them without the pizza, almost. Really soft, chewy and packed with buttery-garlicky flavor. Mmmmmmmm breaaadsticks. I can't vouch for their location since this is a delivery only review. But I can tell you that there is definitely a new zzah spot in my heart. Sorry D'ags, maybe I'll be back for some sloppy seconds soon.

I order from here about once a week. Great comfort food; I'm embarrassed I haven't tried the pizza yet!! A few weeks ago they changed the fries??? to a more crinkley cut style. Gutting, they had the best fries in Chicago!!! PLEASE bring back those beautiful golden fries.

Panino's is our go to, neighborhood pizza and pasta joint. However, if we ever move, it will still be our go to place because it's just an excellent restaurant. The dinner food is really well prepared and will exceed your expectation based on the price and simple decor. It's first class Italian food. The eggplant parmesan and baked rigatoni are two of my favorites. As many have said, their pizza is also excellent. And, they have takeout for both pizza and the pasta/dinner dishes. Finally, the service, for the most part is extremely friendly. We love Francisco and Javier.

Partner and I have ordered their thin crust for delivery on numerous occasions over the years. This week, we actually ventured out to the restaurant. It's a nice comfortable space in a Lake View strip mall. It's proximate to an unholy trinity of gay clubs. We both thought it would be a bit busier on a holiday eve than it turned out to be. While the service was attentive and very friendly, there was hardly an excuse for it to be otherwise. I ordered a glass of wine, they have a respectable selection. Partner order the Lasagna and I ordered the Rigatoni Gorgonzola. His entree was very good; mine was awesome. It was however, so rich that I couldn't finish it. We'll need to visit them more often.

Having only eaten take out pizza from the Evanston Panino's location, I came to dine here expecting a lowkey pizza joint. I'm sure this Panino's also has good pizza, as indicated by my fellow Yelpers, but I was happily surprised at the variety and quality of Italian food. The ambiance was still chill but also classy feeling, could be datelike. We ordered mussels - the largest mussels I've had - from the daily specials menu. The flavor was great, and the accompanying bread was perfect to eat it all. I enjoy the salad and my paccheri napolitano with fresh mozarella and again great flavor. The waiters were very attentive, and I would definitely go back. Next time, I'd check for coupons, as I've heard they come in local mailers. Great prices, even without coupons, and I had leftovers to take home.

I like being able to tell when a place is doing great and I hate to say when they mess up but I can't resist. Last night I ordered 2 meals at 7:30 and was told by GrubHub my meal would be one hour. I was ok with this because there was the Bears game and I was being lazy since I was just a few blocks away but the delivery fee was worth not missing a play. Now everyone knows they say a time and then beat it to look good, right? Well after the meal was almost 15 minutes late I called and was told, your order is on its way. I'm like ok, if they walked it would take ten minutes. 20 minutes later I call back and they try to tell me it was delivered...if it was delivered I would be eating it and not calling you. So she checks again and again then finally admits......the order was never prepared! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Said she'd have it there in 20 minutes and they were busy....after 9PM what other choice do I have than wait? Now if I could give GrubHub 6 Stars I would. After listening to their cheesy hold messages I get through and they not only refunded my meal, they called and asked what the deal was my order at Panino's and to cap it off, gave me credit on my account for another meal through them...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! In the end the food did come and I give 3 stars because as before, the food really is good and hit the spot after waiting 2 hours. The meal was good, the bread, the salad, everything. Lesson learned in being lazy, pause the game and do the job yourself. The food is great, just don't bank the delivery system.

We had an excellent experience here for lunch today. Started off thinking that there was not a dining room since we entered from the north through the plaza. You have to go around the entrance on Waveland to get to the dining area. We started with the Prosciutto and Mozzarella appetizer, which was served on perfectly toasted crostini. The prosciutto was freshly shaved with great flavor. I got the chicken caprini, which was spinach, artichoke and prosciutto stuffed chicken breast. Spinach and artichokes, in my opinion are a perfect union. The chicken was really moist, and had a crispy breading on it, which flaked off easily enough, so that I didn't have to have all of it. The pesto cream sauce was light enough so that it didn't overpower the flavor of the chicken, but coated the fettucini really well. I was quite surprised that the salad that came with my entree was made iceberg lettuce, and the creamy garlic dressing had the consistency of mayo, which is calorically frightening. A pass was granted on the salad because of the appetizer and the entree. My boyfriend had the cheese stuffed tortellini, with artichokes, and freshly shaved parmesan. The flavor of the sauce was really nice, and he finished his whole entree. About halfway home he noted that that was possibly a poor choice, but that it was so good he just couldn't stop eating it. The decor was typical Italian with grapevine embellished walls, and oversized pictures of wine, and landscapes. There were holes around the room, which was clearly because they were replacing the wall sconces, but they should get to doing that, since it looks a little janky. Overall our lunch/dinner experience was really good. The prices were reasonable, and I have enough left over for dinner if I at all feel hungry again today.

God, do I miss this place! I used to live in the neighborhood and would have it delivered all the time. Panino's has some of the best thin crust pizza around. It's thin, saucy, greasy and delicious. Everything I want in a pizza; because let's be honest. No one expects to get a healthy meal when they're ordering a pie. And nothing is worse than dry pizza. I'm giving this a 4 star review not because of poor food quality, but mostly because the delivery driver was totally incapabale of finding my name in my apartment building directory and getting buzzed in. They would inexplicably call my cell phone and have me come down to pick up my cheesy goodness. But I suppose its a small price to pay to the pizza gods.

Panino's is all about "bang for your buck". Let's start with the appetizers. The Vesuvio Potato Wedges are potato wedges that you wouldn't expect. When you order them, you're thinking "Dude, I'm getting deep fried goodness", when they arrive, you see lightly battered, thickly cut wedges soaked in a delicious garlic based sauce. Plus, the portion size is huge. Quite a steal for $4.40. The breaded mushrooms are also an excellent choice, again, a giant portion size, not overly battered and comes with a generous cup of delicious marinara. On to the pizza. The pizza is out of this world. Imagine humongous slices, cheap, and in any style you want. Yes please! The pasta is another staple of Panino's. I always order the mostaccioli with chicken. The meat marinara is thick and meaty, and they chopped up at least a full chicken beast into mix. The delivery is also superb. Always under 30 minutes and always hot. Panino's is Italian style comfort food that will under any circumstance fill you up. You might want to hit the gym when you're done.

We were waiting for Kit Kat lounge to open and needed a little something. This place hit the spot! Nothing spectacular but definitely better than average casual italian fare. We just had drinks and a couple of appetizers and I was pleasantly suprised at how fresh and tasty everything was. Cause seriously, it looks like strip mall pizza from the outside, just try to ignore that and go in. And while they DO have cheap giant slices of pizza, give the dinner menu a try. You won't reret :)

I went here last night for dinner for the second time since living in Chicago... it's actually one of the places I ate at on my first visit here. There was only one other table of two in the restaurant, which was nice for enjoying a quiet dinner out. However, once I had the food, I was kind of sad that there weren't really any people in there. We ordered the sicilian pizza with wheat crust. It actually reminded me more of the typically stuffed pizza that I would ordered at other restaurants, but it was delicious! I haven't really had a super soft pizza crust in a while so it was a nice change from crispy thin or the crunchy crust I get from Lou's. The ambiance was nice and I felt almost as if I were dining in my dining room (well.. my parents dining room...since I don't have one THAT nice in the city!) Best part, the prices were pretty reasonable so I didn't feel we were breaking the bank! I'll definitely be ordering from or dining in here again!

As someone who is gluten free, I always appreciate a gluten free menu. Although it doesn't say it right on the menu, you can get many pasta dishes made with gluten free noodles. I get sick easily from cross contamination and have never felt sick after eating here. I've had their gf pizza as well, which was not anything special. For ordering gluten free online, it's easiest to do off grubhub because they show you all the gluten free options. It's a bit trickier to figure out what they can make gluten free off their online menu.

They serve several styles of pizza. I can only talk about their "Neapolitan artisanal" pizzas, which to my surprise, are by far the pizza's I've ever had in Chicago. My husband and I have visted Italy several times, and Panino's pizzas taste exactly like pizzas taste in Italy. The owner (an Italian) told us he brought in an oven from Italy and imports all the ingredients, including the flour, from there. Wow. Whatever he does, the result is fantastic. (The gelatos kick ass as well!)

This review is for the back carry out entrance only. I have never dined in at Panino's, and unfortunately don't think I will after this experience. I ordered 2 slices of pizza to go from the back entrance. The pizza was so disgusting. It was as if it had been sitting under hot lights for 10 hours (which it probably had been...). The grease was so thick it had soaked through all of the crust onto my plate. My friend and I were starving and actually had to throw our pizza away. We were hoping for some yummy authentic pizza, but ended up wasting money on panino's pizza, throwing it away, and ordering papa john's instead. Super disappointing. Maybe fresh (made to order) Panino's pizza is good, but DO NOT get single carry out slices from the back entrance.

This has the best thin crust pizza for cheap in my neighborhood. It has the perfect balance with the crust, saltiness, not too greasy...I love it. And it tastes really good cold too as leftovers. Only one other pizza place satisfies me as much, and it's way far away from me. Thank goodness for Paninos!

I think getting decent Italian food delivered is almost impossible but Panino's managed to do a good job. We ordered the greek salad, fried ravioli, lasagna, and the tortellini tuscany (yes, we were very hungry). Our order arrived in under 45 minutes and everything was good. It also arrived hot which I personally think is important for any delivery but especially Italian since I can't stand cold spaghetti. The lasagna was not the best I've ever had but it was ok. The tortellini on the other hand was great. The sauce was delicious although quite heavy and sweet. After reading some of the other reviews I'd love to order again and try some of their pizza or sandwiches. The menu is huge so Panino's is sure to have something to satisfy everyone. Side note; the portions are huge! I'm writing this the morning after and I'm still stuffed.

Ok so apparently there are two sides to Panino's (ha ha no pun intended) there is one side that faces a parking lot that just does take out and delivery and then there is a back side with a separate entrance that is a little sit down restaurant. My friends took me to the restaurant part last night. I had never even heard of this place before, much less had even seen it. Panino's restaurant side is like a hidden gem though! It's one of those places that is never totally crowded, but has a good size crowd of regulars who always eat there. (My friends are those regulars :) ) The service is friendly and 100% certified real Italian. We started out with the fried calmari, I would have to say that this calamari is perfect! It is LIGHTLY battered and fried so its a perfect combination of fried goodiness but you can still taste the calmari. I hate it when calmari is so heavily battered and fried that you forget what you are eating because all you taste is the fried batter. For my entree, I ordered the special italian sausage and rappini gnocchi. The italian sausage is to die for, and they are not stingy in the amount of sausage and rappini in this dish. I was really craving gnocchi but when the entree came out, I found myself eating most of the sausage and rappinni first! Plus I love that all of the dishes come out extra hot so you know they just brought them directly from the kitchen right to your table. Then for dessert (yes of course we ordered dessert) I had the tartufo, which was hazelnut chocolate ice cream goodness, but what stole the show from my tartufo was my friend's pizz cookie which is this hot freshly baked gooey chocolate chip cookie topped with a scoop of ice cream. I found myself stealing bites of her dessert while eating mine! Hey I can't resist a warm gooey fresh baked chocolate chip cookie! I had an excellent time at Panino's, it is a very cute find! Prices are very reasonable here and the service does not disappoint.

The pizzas take a while to prepare, but don't load up on the bread. :) Place is a bit small and on a cold day don't let them sit you by the door because it gets really cold up front.

This is our go-to Italian place, we've been going for years. There are 2 sides to this place, the restaurant and the take-out side. The take-out side is very limited, they don't have the full menu, and it's mostly pizzas and slices. The two halves aren't really comparable, they are completely different- even the pizza at the restaurant is light years better than at the take-out side. We always go to the restaurant when we're in an Italian mood, and have never been disappointed. I don't remember the name, but the pasta with sausage and tomato cream sauce is awesome. All the entrees are HUGE- you'll have enough left for lunch tomorrow, and maybe then some. Also surprisingly, they have 2 great comfort food dishes: ribs (not kidding, they're the best in E. Lakeview) and pot roast- which really reminds me of my mom's. All the traditional items are there- chicken Marsala, lasagna (meat- don't know if they have veggie), veal (really delicious, a little pricey). They also have a full complement of wines, but if I go on a week night I don't usually have any. In summer they have a little patio out front, but it's small and it's more sidewalk-y than terrace-y. Plan for leftovers- we've very rarely been able to stop and leave room for dessert. The Tiramisu is killer (the one time I've tried it). They have a great cream of chicken soup that we always get. The bread basket they bring is great- focaccia with olive oil and parmesan- it's an awesome starter. The ambiance is modern yet still Italian (it was reworked about a year ago). As I said, I've been going here ever since they opened (8+ years), and the food is always consistent. You're always satisfied, which is precisely what I'm looking for in an Italian place.

Cardboard Crust + boring sauce = [insert any other corner pizza joint in Chicago] Apparently, they're all the same, so why even bother "yelping" to find a new place? The people of this city think that cardboard pizza cut into squares!!!! is NY style pizza? What the hell is with Chicago? I mean, I love the Chicago style pizza pie, but there is also this great big huge genre of pizza called NEW YORK style!!! Yeah, so why can't I get it unless I go to CorporatePizza.com !?!? I've lived in Chicago for several years now and the only good-- big sliced, greasy, foldable pizza I have found is in Evanston on the NU campus at Sbarro. THAT is embarrassing--but you can bet your ass the next time I want NY Style Pizza...I will drive my ass ALL the way to Evanston and park in the loading dock of Norris! Okay? Okay. But if you want JUST breadsticks--this place has the best.

My Godmom took me and my family out to dinner. We arrived at Panino's and I was about to go in. "No, thats the pizza and sandwiches side. The other side is the restaurant." A bit confused we followed her and sure enough on the other side is a small intimate restaurant. The whole experience start to finish was a dream. Beginning with our server Ryan (his nickname is sweetie-pie since he says he is good with the ladies) we had a fabulous time making jokes and chatting. The appetizers came out in a very timely manner (artichoke and spinach dip, mozzarella sticks, and bruschetta were fabulous). More witty banter from Ryan and only a little while later all our food came out. I ordered the lobster ravioli. It has been the best pasta I've ever had in my entire life. the presentation, flavors, and textures were amazing. I will make them a regular dinner stop from now on. 5 Stars for Ryan my server, he sealed the deal!

Um hello! This place has amazing AMAZING Italian dishes. Don't short yourself and only try their Pizza, try the Lasagna or the sandwiches! This place used to be right across the street from me, but as I moved south...i still love them for their delivery. I think they will deliver just about anywhere, so give them a try!

Panino's is a safe bet when you want good pizza for a good price. Order a whole pizza over the phone or online or stop in the parking lot side for a slice on the run. I have not eaten in the dine-in side since my fiance lives very close. On our first visit I tried a sandwich (chicken parmesan, I believe) and was pleasantly surprised by both the quality and quantity (leftovers!).

Dine-in or delivery - Panino's has the best food no matter what you order. I've had them cater some of my parties - food is always delivered hot and on-time. When my folks come in from the burbs, this is the first place they want to eat. Try the ribs or mushroom risotto!

So I guess I should have had the pizza. What I did order was a bit disappointing. I had a gyro sandwich..I know, I know...why order such a thing in an Italian pizza place? Maybe I will give 'em another shot when I am in the mood for pizza, or pasta, or a panini. My food was dry and severely lacking in flavor. I had also ordered a Mojito..it also was not too great. It needed a bit of sweetness to balance it out..it just didn't make the cut. On the upside, the server was really sweet and attentive. I'll give it another go sometime but for now, it was just Meh.

On tha lunch tip: $3.75 (tax included) will buy you a piece of stuffed spinach or sausage pizza, and they will cover it in marinara at no extra charge. Makes for a perfect sized (filling) Italian meal, in my opinion. Not the best I've had, but it's damn good. There are only two outdoor tables - on the sidewalk - for take out customers to use.

I'm a thin crust girl. I like little thin crust slices, so I can eat a few and not overeat. Panino's pan pizza almost sent me into a carb coma. We ordered the pesto with chicken and goat cheese and the garlic cheese bread. The menu says a medium (12 inch) pizza feeds 1-2. Try 3-5! The crust was so thick that I ate one slice and one piece of the garlic bread (which by the way is garlic PESTO cheese bread?) and was completely stuffed. The pizza was good, but my god that is a lot of dough. A little too much dough for my tastes. The dough and goat cheese made it a bit on the dry side, but overall it was still pretty tasty. I'd give them another try but now I know to only order the thin crust and go with a small!

I have now been to Panino's 3 times and can accurately review the 3 facets of the restaurant: Pizza, lunch, and dinner. Pizza - I ordered a large thin and it was absolutely fantastic. The ratio of cheese to sauce to crust was perfect, as was the blast of flavor in each bite. My group ordered a sausage and pepperoni and the toppings were plentiful and delicious. It receives a solid 4 stars on my pizza scale. Lunch - AMAZING. I give their lunch 5 stars. For the price ($7.95), you cannot beat their lunch panini's. I had the Pollo which had chicken, roasted red peppers, provolone, and pesto. As a huge pesto fan, this one was a no brainer. The sandwich was a healthy size and comes with fries and a pickle. To think this is the same price as crappy Subway is absolutely awesome. I also had a bite of the Cubano and Campania, both of which I will be trying in the next couple of weeks. Dinner - After 2 gratifying visits to Panino's, I gave their dinner a shot last night. I was surprised to see the transformation of the menu to. The best part? They had all my favorites, including the Veal Saltimbocca. Oh my God. Excellent. Maybe it's because the dish is offered on such a limited basis at other Italian restaurants, or maybe it's just my fascination with the dish, but it was phenomenal. The dish came out hot, melty, juicy, and with the perfect proportion of light sauce. The girl I was with had the special which was a meat ravioli in a black truffle cream sauce. It was thick, creamy, and unbelievably flavorful. Hello gym today...On a side note, order the Coke with grenadine in it- the best Cherry Coke I have ever had! The restaurant itself is small and cozy. The service was fine, no complaints there. I will be back for sure. My only complaint was that for dinner, the seated us in a small, 2 person table on a Monday night when they had plenty of 4 person tables closer to the windows. Regardless, I could have spoken up and I am certain they would have moved us. I cannot wait to go back!

I stopped in with three other friends after a long day. The restaurant is a bit on the tiny side, but it was cozy. We started off with the spinach dip which was excellent, came with wheat chips. We got a 14" deepdish with pepperoni and green bell peppers. One slice was enough for one person! The pizza was good, but it wasn't amazing. However, I have to say the server we had was exceptional!

When I want to have a fat kid night, I like to do it right. I'm not a pint o' ice cream ben&jerry's type of girl. I want cheese, I want meat, and I want carbs. Thats why Paninos is the place where you'll find this girl spending $4 for a slice of (giant) thin crust pizza. The sauce has this slight spice to it (not spicey, just seasoned well) and the ratio of cheese, sauce, crust, and toppings never leaves any pizza fan unsatisfied. Ok I have to add that I'm a pizza snob. I've driven great distances and tried my fair share of pizza places, and Paninos really knows how to do it right.

Somehow, after ten months of living closer to Panino's than any other restaurant, I had never eaten there. So last night, I did. The bar just doesn't work (it's crunched in by the front door where a coat room might be, with very little standing room), but otherwise the layout was fine. I didn't get their pizza, so this is not a pizza review. That's a whole other animal. What I did get is a timpano, which was exactly what any starved Italian caveman would ever want. It's basically a giant pot pie full of like 4 different meats, sauce, cheese, and pasta, and it comes with soup. I could only finish half of the damn thing. I just ate another quarter for lunch today. For $12, that was a hell of a lot of food. The service was excellent, and this might be the only affordable Italian place with good food that will still hook a brother up with some bread, foccacia and olive oil before the meal.

Love Panino's! I've only gotten take-out from here, so I can't speak for the service or the restaurant area. The lasagna is to die for. It is so delicious. Lots of sauce, and a big portion with a slice of bread as well. For less than $10, its big enough for me to split it into 2 meals. I've also ordered the tiramisu, which I would definitely recommend. Almost forgot! You can place your order online. Super easy and a great way to make sure you'll be receiving exactly what you wanted.

Panino's is a fantastic neighborhood pizza stop. Why anyone would eat from the big name pizza parlors in Chicago when they could support stores like this is beyond me. The staff is efficient and courteous, and if you're buying single slices from the store, they're usually fresh. You cannot beat the price. For my taste, the deep dish is better than the thin crust here. The tomato sauce makes the pie. Spinach deep dish is especially good. Next time you head to Wrigley or are around the neighborhood, stop in. Chances are good that you won't be disappointed.

I just found this place a few months ago and every time I order I'm happier than before. Great Italian at a good price with terrific delivery service. But what made me decide to share with yelp is discovering they also have great burgers :) I wanted delivery but didn't have a taste for Italian, so I decided to try Panino's burger and it was hot, juicy and delicious. This place does everything well; my only regret is that I didn't find it sooner.

The food was great and the service was horrible. It was lunch time, and there was only one server. My friend and I were the only table there when we walked in so the waiter was attentive to us. Then a large group of people came in and all we wanted to was to close our tab and get a box for our food. He completely ignored us and was very frazzled. I work in a high volume bar, so I know what it is like, however it wasn't so crazy that he couldn't wrap up with us. He never asked us if we wanted change and threw our food at us after we had finally waited 20+ minutes to get our box. We both said thank you but he just threw the food at us and took off.

I needed an Italian place in my neighborhood so obviously I went to Yelp to consult which one was closest to me with the best Yelp reviews. I was thrilled that Panino's rated quite high because even though I've lived around the corner from Panino's for 3 years, I have never been in or ordered take-out. The ambiance was great (they had spring training baseball on TV-huge plus for the boyfriend), Frank Sinatra in the background and a pleasant wait staff. The food was great, the service was great, the wine was nice and everything was very reasonably priced. For my boyfriend, who happens to be somewhat of a food snob, he absolutely loved the place and wants to make it a permanent fixture in our date night repertoire. Thanks to all you previous Yelpers for yelping so positively about this place!

My go-to pizza place for delivery! I do not order it as often as I would like, mostly because we live closer to Pizzeria Aroma and it is closer and just as good. Paninos does have larger than normal pizzas (over 16") which makes it useful for parties. Try a double-dough pizza with Panino Breadsticks, you will not be disappointed. There is also a restaurant that is attached to the carry out location which serves the exact same food so feel free to dine in or carry out. One of the best thin crust pizza options I've found so far!

Holy Poops is this place awesome. Stopped in there today for a slice expecting a small, not amazing piece of pie to satisfy my instant hunger needs.... What I got was a MASSIVE slice of absolutely delicious thin crust sausage pizza.........for only $3.25!!! it literally was a meal. I have now ordered delivery from here a couple of times. Now, it is expensive, but, the food is phenomenal. A restaurant immediately grabs my attention when you can order a Caprese Salad in January.. and the tomato's are perfectly ripe every time. How freeking cool is that. I wanted to give 3.5 stars here for the food, 2.5 on the service/experience, Paninos is pretty decent delivery, but the telephone ordering people as well as the drivers come off as being on the crabby/depressed side. My pizzas have often been a little cold though generally the pizza is very good (for delivery). Also, why you gonna charge me extra for 1 parmesan and 1 red peppers??

OK, so here's the deal. Order pizza from Panino's, not much of anything else. Double crust it, and you are set. The sauce is tasty, not tinny at all. Imho, they do a better job with single topping pizzas than the "super laden" ones, which I found to be over topped. Otherwise, I consider Panino's to be a real find.

Not too shabby. A midst the first snow blizzard of Chicago, popped into this place for a late night (9:00pm) bite. Quaint little italian restaurant, not too fancy. Checkerboard table covers and oil awaits you at the table. Restaurant locals lined the bar, giving a family feel when we walked in. The greek salad was good. I love kalamata olives! We also ordered the deluxe 12" pizza. It's was just ok. Nothing knocked me of my feet here. It was a little on the greasy side. I like a dryer pizza I guess. Service was overly concerned with how we were doing. But I'd rather have service than no service at all. Overall this place is a cozy italian "feel like family" restaurant. Great place to come in from the cold.

Good food, a bit overpriced for basic Italian food, but on par with the rest of the city. Decent gnocci, which was surprising. Nice outdoor area that would've been so much nicer without the possessed screaming children running up and down the sidewalk. Why can't parents control their kids? Sheesh. Running up and down a sidewalk screeching at the top of their lungs isn't the way kids should behave in a restaurant. Outdoor seating or not. Stupid parents. Sorry. I digress. Good outdoor seating, prompt service, great bread, and after the kids left it was a really nice dinner. If I could, I'd give 4 stars to our blond waitress (try and get her to wait on you); she was on top of everything - She made sure to tell me that the lobster pasta used imitation lobster, and when she realized she forgot my BF's beer she quickly took it off the tab, which was a plesant surprise to us. It's staff like that which brings this place above the average of normal Chicago Italian fare.

I've been meaning to update my review as we have been dining IN (and taking out) from Panino's for a while now. I feel like the dine in part is really a hidden gem since most people order takeout. This place is the best. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. It's usually not very busy (which is why I am updating my review!) so everything is fast and perfect. They have dinner and drink specials and on Wednesday nights they have a $5 martini menu - they make a fabulous lemon drop!!! All in all, this is our go to place for Italian in Lakeview whether we want it delivered or want to eat there. It makes me so sad though because there are never enough people dining when we go and I hope that's just because everyone's ordering takeout. Please try this place - Lakeview doesn't have much to offer in the way of awesome restaurants and this is one we don't want to lose!!

Gyro pan pizza - I say no more! Its great. Across the board, Panino's is solid. In a town know for its pizza, Panino's holds its own as a good neighborhood spot. The eat in space is pretty large and the delivery/take away is located in the back. Most nights it only takes 15 min if you want take out. They also have slices on hand if you just need a quick slice. Other favs include the mozzy sticks and toasted ravolis.

This is my go-to delivery place for Italian food. I haven't had their pizza yet (which apparently I need to try) but I usually get pasta or entrees. Their entrees are good and a great deal. I ordered the chicken marsala and it came with a side of pasta, small salad (really small, but can't complain because it was basically free) and bread and butter - for $13! I've also have some of their pastas which are really tasty, too. Delivery is quick - half an hour on a Saturday!

I went here last night and fell in love. The food is good. The place is quaint and the prices are extremely reasonable. Our waitress was so friendly and gave incredible suggestions. She was the only one on and she did an amazing job. I had cheese ravioli and my friend had a rigatoni in a Gorgonzola cheese cream sauce. Wow were they tasty. The balsamic vinaigrette was fantastic. I can't wait to go back.

Panino's is great for eat-in and take out. I've never ordered delivery so can't comment on that. The restaurant has a cozy, dimly lit interior and outdoor patio seating in the summer. There is a separate back entrance for the take out / delivery part of the restaurant. Everything I've ordered from here has been great -- huge burgers, great thick and thin crust pizza. I'm also addicted to their spaghetti carbonara and lasagna. I typically do take out here but have taken friends to dine in for special occasions. It's also a great stop for Cubs fans looking to grab a slice after a game, just 10 minutes walking distance from Wrigley.

We have been ordering for home delivery from Panino's since they opened here but last night was the first time we went to their restaurant & with another couple. Expecting a "pizzeria" we were pleasantly surprised that this was a beautifully decorated Italian restaurant. We were surprised that the flyer specials and coupons they issue are for delivery & pick-up only but we were not disappointed. Their dinner menu is a full menu and the prices are reasonable. Our waiter, Fernando, was very accommodating and knew the menu well. We ordered osso bucco ravioli, gnocchi & sausage, spaghetti with butter & sausage slices and spaghetti with meat sauce & mushrooms. Everything was beautifully cooked. I had the best canolli served with a scoop of pistachio gelato. We're going back soon to try other "stuff"; however, I'm stuck on their Italian sausage. We've been ordering sausage and sausage/beef combs. sandwiches for delivery for years. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood on NW side and Panino's is THE BEST!!!!!! Try them, you'll like them.

They just redid the menu and interior, I always have the same waiter who is overly friendly. He is very nice, and has great wine recommendations. I have had the chicken stuffed with prosciutto and spinach- delicious! The pizza is delicious, and they use quality ingredients.

My usual go-tos for delivery were getting a little old so I decided to try Paninos. I ordered cheese fries and a sausage and pepperoni calzone. They quoted me 45 minutes for delivery, it took about 50 minutes, but everything was hot when it arrived at my door. I thought the delivery time was a little long giving that I live less than a mile from the restaurant, or maybe it's just a sign that I should get off my lazy butt and walk to pick up the food. Anyway, cheese fries were nothing special. The calzone was pretty good. I liked the sauce as well as the sausage and pepperoni. Overall it was a filling (okay stuffing), greasy Friday night dinner. I'll probably order from here again. They have an extensive menu and online ordering is coming soon.

I had them deliver some catering to a party on the Lake. They were on time and the food got rave reviews from all of the attendees (pizzas, wings, whole wheat pasta and salad) . The cost was great - I was able to feed 20 people for just about $10/person! Come to think of it though, I don't remember seeing the chicken wings I ordered so I just hope either I missed them in all the commotion or we weren't charged for them.

ah, Paninos. This place is great, the ribs are very good, and the gnocci carbonara (off the menu but they do it) is so rich and tasty you should have some back up pants. The chicken parm dinner and the small traditional pan pizza is super great too. the owners are beyond kind and send out your proper order if mistakes are made. This place is great for carry out or dining in, Its close to Angelinas and is cheaper and better. You want some Zert? they got it! try the gelato. Anyone who gives this place less than four stars could complain about a sunny day in heaven. go to there, you'll be glad you did.

We stopped in on Friday night after electing to stay close to the house- we've tried carryout from the other side of the restaurant a few times and have been underwhelmed. That said, this side of the house was absolutely outstanding. We had the eggplant parmigiana and chicken marsala, and both were phenomenal... the eggplant was the best I've had in ages, better than at some more upscale restaurants. It was served with pasta on the side that was PERFECTLY al dente. Portions were massive... I can't remember the last time I took food home from a restaurant, but I did it here... nearly half my food. Contributing factors: the 942 pieces of their really good fresh bread and focaccia dipped in olive oil and freshly grated parmesan. I washed down my meal with a couple of Moretti's, a fine, light, beer from Italy- a land best known for its wine but able to churn out a fine birra. My princess was enthralled by her chianti. Service was terrific. We came in at the tail end of the Friday dinner rush and our waiter was apologetic for even the slightest delay... we hadn't noticed most of the time. Great, great, great experience and I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

Panino's in my mind is known for their Timpano's. This is stuffed pasta pie baked in pizza crust. It is muy fabulous! I personally recommend their chicken veggie timpano that is stuffed with zucchini, carrots, green beans, mushrooms, peas, and drenched in alfredo sauce. I'm making myself hungry just thinking of it. It's enough to feed two people and great the next day as leftovers. If your feeling something lighter I also recommend their veggie pannini. It's chocked full of eggplant, roasted red peppers, artichokes, and provolone cheese and grilled to perfection.

So a friend actually introduced me to this restaurant about a year and a half ago. When we first started going, I LOVED it! Their salads, which I tended to get were fantastic! As well were their appetizers. I know we got the coconut shrimp (which actually I don't think is very Italian, but whatever) and that was fantastic -- HUGE shrimp and very good. As well the waitress that we tended to get EVERY week that we would go was very attentive. It's a smaller place, so it was a nice place to chat and be able to hear one another. As well they have TVs, but they do not generally have the volume up. So it was nice because we could have the game [Cubs] or election info/debates (this was when Obama was running) on in the background and check in on things every once in a while when we wanted to. My friend I know, RAVES about the lasagna and would oftentimes actually order that for take out. Loved it so much. Then about 6 months ago or so, we went again after a long time of not going. They had totally changed the menu, and I didn't honesty think for the better. I wound up getting something totally new though, and wasn't ecstatic about that, so I don't know that I actually had a good, accurate judgement. The restaurant is still the same the menu just changed. The nice thing about their entrees though is that you get either soup/salad with it, and then obviously there's bread, and certain items come with either a potato or pasta if it isn't already a pasta dish. So you're not going to leave on an empty stomach. Last night I finally decided to get take out from there, as it was raining and I could NOT find my umbrella -- typical. So I ordered the caprese salad (FABULOUS even though it was dressing from a packet) teh eggplant parmesan and chocolate chip cheesecake -- I was hungry, what can I say. I'm UBER picky about eggplant as my mother makes the best and I can replicate that recipe. I've NEVER had anything that can top it, until last night. The eggplant was a bit different than what I make as it was made almost like a lasagna. It was layered with ricotta cheese, and it was very thinly sliced. It was so delicious, and was over penne pasta which I don't do when I make it. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. The cheesecake on the other hand was a packaged Eli's, which is good, but I like homemade authentic. So if you want a quiet place to chill and eat some decent Italian food, go for it. Not my favorite, but by no means bad!

Okay, I admit it. The thick crust Sicilian pizza my wife and I had was very good. In fact, excellent. Don't let her know I wrote this review! You see, my wife is from New York and for the last 30 years all I ever heard was how New York style pizza is the best. Chicago pizza is never as "good as New York". I have taken her to my favorite Chicago style pizza places with the always the same comment, 'it's okay BUT not like New York pizza." She finally found Pinano's and their New York style pies. I have finally convinced her they are both good and you can't compare apples with oranges. Hopefully, since this east coast - midwest conflict has been solved there is hope that there can be peace in the Middle East as well. Anything is possible with "Hope". Vote Obama. Sorry for the political message but I just watched his Berlin speech and got caught up in the moment!

My bf and I dined there when no one else was in the restaurant. My phone was missing when I left so I went back, telling them my phone was missing. They denied having the phone and treated me ridicuously even saying I might of dropped it outside or in the toliet and didnt remember. NO ONE ELSE was in the restaurant, but us and the waitress and the bus boy so I assumed it was the bus boy who stole the phone because he cleared the table and hid from us when we came back, he also acted very shady and claimed he knew nothing about it and the phone must of vanished. Later, I found international calls to Mexico on my phone bill and am out 163 dollars to replace the phone. The manager, Miguel Vega, claims he can do nothing for me. DONT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SURROUNDED BY THIEVES and LIARS!

Panino's is good, not great, but good. They have a huge menu, and like most places with big menus, the items are hit or miss. However, I find most of the items to be a hit, like the stuffed pizzas and some of the panini's (I'm a fan of the Cuban). They also serve large portions which make this place a great value. And in this tight economy, who doesn't love a deal?

I'm completely crazy about this place. I think they have the best pizza EVER. I also love that it's on the way home from the gym. Nothing like a pizza pie after a big workout. Love it!

I eat here all the time, ever since they opened the sit-down section, extending their service beyond pick-up and delivery. It's almost always a really good experience. Very good Italian food in a casual, tucked-away place you wouldn't expect to find it. The menu is nice and big. Lots of pasta options. Good pizza. Decent salads. Good sandwiches and paninis. And if you're feeling a little unhealthy, try their signature timpanos- basically a calzone with pasta (among other things) cooked inside. The gnocchi is a favorite of mine along with the baked rigatoni. As for dessert- they have a heart-stopping pi-zookie. A giant baked cookie with a mound of ice cream melting on top. I don't think its fat-free... but it's incredible. There's always seating available, it's usually pretty quiet. The place is small and very casual. Service is always friendly and attentive.

This place has some really good italian food. I like it because its a casual place, but it still has the great food and service. Its a good stop for either lunch or dinner. They have some awesome sandwhich options for lunch too! And if you can't make your way all the way there, they deliver too!

Im a huge fan of panino's from the cute polite boys behind the counters in the front, to the well dressed and appropriate servers in the dining area in the back. Its not too pricey and is one of those places I usually eat at everyday haha. I grab a slice of pizza for lunch, I work right nearby and order take out or dine in with my boyfriend some evenings. Being Italian I approve!! They always get my order right, on time, and in a polite manner. I would give them 5 stars but i did have this rude delivery girl. i don't know who the hell she was but she insisted that I swore at her on my intercom, it was weird and she was out of control.

The only reason I gave Panino's two stars (instead of one), is because after having read other reviews, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that their pizza is kick-ass. Unfortunately, I did not order pizza. I ordered a (very) basic pasta dish that contained sauteed vegetables in an oil sauce. Sounds harmless, right? WRONG! This was perhaps the worst pasta I have ever had in my life. I'm convinced the problem was lurking in the ingredients. When preparing something so unadulterated as vegetables over noodles, it is imperative that the ingredients are fresh (or at least not from a bag that can be found in the frozen-food section). Every single vegetable on my plate tasted like it had been living in the back of someone's freezer for 6 months, then boiled in butter and salty chicken broth. Mmm, delicious. I went with two friends and both of their meals were equally bad (but again, none of us ordered pizza). I feel especially bad because our server was nice and the place seems really cute. I guess the moral of the story is only order pizza here. Bummer.

I love Paninos! The stuffed pizza is amazing - the sauce is tasty and the ingredients always seem top-notch! I like the veggie stuffed pizza a lot. I've also had their chicken parm, which is great (and I like that they give you pasta and broccoli with it). I used to live right near Paninos and would eat there about three times a week. Now, I'm a little further away and don't get there as often. The wait staff is outstanding and Lenny, the owner, is a great guy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Great food!

I went to Panino's a couple weeks ago when my parents were in town. They were very attentive, my lobster ravioli rocked and the atmosphere was great for just sitting back and relaxing. Dad had the gnocchi and Mom had some type of mushroom and pasta dish. Thumbs up from all of us.

They got bonus points from the start for being open on Mondays and for accepting my recently expired coupon. I have been on the search for true NY style pizza....and my search will continue. This was straight up, good, Chicago style cracker crust. Thin crisp crust, nice sauce, good amount of cheese, greasy, and cut into squares. It wasn't what I was looking for, but it was good. Prices were average. Delivery time of 45 minutes was almost exactly spot on. A good experience from order through delivery to dining.

Great for slices! Their Timpano is pretty damn tasty too. Recently, they added a dining section and an outdoor section in the summer. For fast, casual Italian Dining, Panino's serves up some of the best in the city.

I love, love, love the caprese pannini from this place! I have only done carry out and delivery so I can't comment on the eat in experience. It's an awesome place for more of a variety than just pizza and the regular bar food. My only comment is they are less than a mile from me and by the time the food is delivered is already room temp.

Second that on their being a go-to place for delivery! Their pizza is the yummiest. The crust is neither Chicago-thick nor NY-thin, kind of in between. But the sauce and cheese they use is super-tasty. Best pizza I've had in Chicago so far, including Pizza Capri, Pizano's.

I order from Panino's seriously, like 4 times a week. I have to say that I have had wonderful, reliable and quick delivery service from Panino's each time. Their pizza is very good, and I highly recommend any of the chicken dishes, Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Francese...delicious!

I live incredibly close to this place and thus in the last 3 years they have seen my face. A LOT. I have eaten in the dining room a few times but usually opt for carryout because I am so close. I always enjoy getting pizza by the slice, the Chopped Chicken Salad, or pretty much any pasta.

Panino's is a favorite of mine. Everything there (except maybe the salads which are only average) is very good. The pasta dishes are usually good, and some are really old style authentic (Don't order the Mama's sunday brunch unless you know what your getting into - not everyone likes beef braciole or stewed rib marrow in their pasta). Recommendations would include: Any pizza, Baked Rigatoni (although all the pastas are pretty good), their Timpanos and Calzones are great, their hamburgers are big and juicy, and their sandwiches are very tasty (the Modena panini is my fav).

Good outdoor seating in an area with limited outdoor seating. Pizza by the slice is sort might seem overpriced but it's a really big slice so I think it makes up for it. The pizza itself it pretty good, but it's more like NY style so it's wide and flat and foldable, and they don't skimp on the grease. Sitting inside is nice too with a waitstaff that's friendly and quick. I don't really have any complaints for this place. I mostly just enjoy walking by and smelling the pizza.

Pretty tasty. I forgot the exact name of what I had, but it was like a pot pie with a breaded bottom and side crust, except there was chicken, rotini and cheese in the middle and baked cheese over the top. The portion size was large and the leftovers are still good in the microwave. My boyfriend had the lasagna, liked it, and was impressed that it seemed fresh despite ordering it on a Sunday night (an hour before closing). Atmosphere is a good mix of casual plus fancy.. By that I mean they decorated very nicely inside, but you still don't feel out of place walking in with shorts / tshirt. [Beware that my version of "fancy" may be lower class than most people.] Outdoor seating available (about 6 small tables). Ladies restroom was very clean. Service was adequate- waiter was nice, prompt, but the busboy forgot to replace a beer after he asked if we wanted another. Menu selection is large. There are several things I plan to try in my next visits, and if my experiences are still good, I'll raise my rating from 4 stars to 5. 2nd experience- Italian style risotto was just ok. But it was the first time I've ever had risotto, so maybe it is supposed to taste like that.

We went here late on a Friday night for a light dinner, and it was delicious. We ate appetizers for our meal, with two of us getting the mushroom caprese salad special, and another ordering the crab cakes. The friendly service was attentive, but not hovering, and the food was very tasty. I had a glass of Riesling white wine, which was very good as well. This was a great stop for an affordable bite to eat in Lakeview.

this is the go to pizza place anytime- delivery, dine-in, or a slice to go! amazing thin crust pizza with a lovely, not too sweet sauce. great italian dishes if you visit the restauranty side of the place on waveland. and huge slices for $2.50 if you are stumbling around the neighborhood and in need of a quick fix. paninos and i are past menus- i have their magnet on my fridge! delivery is always quick and reliable. service on the restaurant side is pleasant and quick. the only reason they don't get 5 stars is because i have never seen them have a special- it's not too pricey in the world of pizza, but what about a coupon every once in a while?

it's a good option for a quick lunch if you're in the area. you can get a slice of whole wheat veggie pizza for under $4. it's a huge slice and very filling. they have cheaper slices, but the veggie pizza is always enticing. i've had much better pizza in the city, but when i'm in the area and only have a 5 spot, it's a good option.

This used to be just a carry out pizza place that had decent pizza. Now, they bought the restaurant behind them and opened a really good Italian restaurant in it's place. The menu is pretty big and I have yet to be disappointed by anything. Surprisingly good food and attentive service with a small, family run restaurant feel.

This looks like a typical carry-out pizza joint, but once you peruse the extensive menu, you'll realize they're more than just pizza. They have good pasta dishes at great prices, as well as sandwiches, salads and more. This is a true family-run restaurant with solid food.

Man! Where do I begin. It'd be a grave injustice to say this place serves food. My friend who ate there got sick and threw up. The vegetables they use in their entrees are frozen, probably bought at Jewel for buck thirty a pound. Cheese in their pizza is slightly easier to swallow than chewing gum. Cleanliness, service, price...let's just group them together under the 'below average' category. I live 2 blocks away and even though it's conveniently located I'll give away my first born rather than going back here for...food, if that's what they call it down there.

Well I've eaten here a bunch of times, and I've finally decided to write a brief review of it. As you can see, I'm giving it two stars, but I'll probably keep coming back here because it's convenient and there are a few things on the menu I like. I'm really rating it down because the food is sooooo inconsistent. I've ordered the exact same panini 3 times and it's been made 3 different ways (hot, cold, without basil). I recently went with my dad, he had the deep dish veggie pie. It had so much raw onions on it that he couldn't eat it. I'm not talking thin little slivers of onion, but huge heaping chunks of raw onion. I had a calzone with broccoli, sausage, and garlic. The sausage was undercooked and it had so much garlic that it was spicy! Some garlic lovers may like it this way, but not me! Overall, I think it's a convenient place and it has a really nice outdoor patio, but the food is very hit or miss...you're never going to get the same thing twice (literally).

After reading the great reviews, I decided to order our lunch from Panino's. I ordered portabella mushroom sandwich, four cheese Panini, pasta and French fries. OMG, it was the worst portabella sandwich I ever had. It was dry, cold and boring. The sandwich had couple slices of mushrooms and 3 tomatoes. I will never order from this place again. It was a waste of time and money.

I've been to the restaurant side once and the carry-out side more times than I can count. Can't beat a slice of cheese pizza for $2.50 on your way home when you don't feel like cooking! The restaurant is small and cozy. When I was in there, the owners and wait staff seemed to know almost everyone in there which means they must do a lot of repeat business which can only mean good things. Portions are fairly large too. The carry-out side has everything from pizza to pasta to hot dogs and sandwiches. I generally get the same things, either a slice of pizza, hot dog and fries or chicken fajitas rolls. The delivery people are in and out constantly so it's popular for delivery too. Fast turnaround so you're not waiting long or it's in a shopping plaza so you can duck out for a sec and be back in time for your food. I gave it 4 stars b/c whenever I order the chicken fajitas rolls, they ring up at $5.50 whereas the menu says $4.95 which is not much money but it's every time. Sometimes I say something, sometimes I don't. I haven't seen it with other times but I would check your receipt against the menu to verify prices, it could easily be the same with other items as well.
