Great little greasy spoon! We come in here every week for burritos and tostadas, or pancakes and omelets - all of which are very good. The freshly fried tortilla chips and pico de gallo (usually with lots of jalapeños) are especially great! The service is friendly and prompt, and they are happy to accommodate special orders. My husband always asks for rice and cilantro inside his burrito, and they've never hassled him about it. Prices are excellent too! The two of us can get absolutely stuffed for less than $15, and that includes tax and tip! Love this place!

It's a great little neighborhood place with terrific food (especially breakfast!) and a friendly staff.

A great little place to eat. I go there regularly, the food is very good but what always blows me away is how much food you get for the price. Usually $6 - $8 for lunch! That's cheaper than McDonalds. Not much on atmosphere, but who cares. Good breakfast and lunch specials and really good Mexican dishes. The burritos are almost too big to eat.

Great neighborhood american/mexican diner. We frequent this location often. The staff are super friendly, love babies and children, and the food has always been great (for this type of cuisine). We order take-out mostly, but the 6 times or so that we have eaten in, the restaurant has been clean and service primo. In terms of take-out, never have they mixed up, omitted portions, or forgotten our order - it has been 100% ALWAYS. The prices are great too, particularly for the amount of food you receive. So, if you want a friendly, consistent, tasty meal, in a nice neighborhood location - check out Nick Jr.'s this family is sold!

I kept hearing talk around the neighborhood about this place, but I kept passing it by for Denny's or ihop. Big mistake on my part. Lucky I talked with someone I could trust. He gave me the real 411. I was hooked when he told they made perfect Grits for breakfast. I took the line and sinker the first time I ate there. All there breakfasts start you off with three eggs, choice of meat, I had ham off the bone, toast, enough hash browns for two and a great selection of beverages. Everything was perfect, including my requested slightly dark toast. I didn't use the menu, just ordered what I wanted, not a special from the menu. I got my bill and was blown away, $5.65 ! The place is clean, actually spotless. Friendly waitresses including the owners mom. I would have given it five stars but the place is small and has too many satisfied, repeat customers. Though it looks like they have in less than a year been forced to occupy the space next door to accommodate the heavy breakfast crowd. All on street parking makes it even tougher to get into the Galewood Gem. I'll give them the fifth star when the extra seating area opens !

Great breakfast place. Staff always remember you every time. Food is great and fast and cheap what else can you expect. Still waiting for your expansion to open.

Used to go to their Grand Ave. location before it burned down, always great. Recently visited the new store and bought a couple of steak tacos. Very good size and taste. They open at 6 AM. Unfortunately for me, that's an hour too late for me to stop by and get some chorizo con huevos, as that was my favorite at the old location. I'll be back!

Lunch today with my wife and kids was great. I had chorizo skillet, very good. Asked for hot sauce and they brought out red and green new mexico style, muy bueno. My wife had the grilled tilapia which came out cooked perfectly with a nice smoky flavor. I forget what the kids had but the milkshakes they ordered were a big hit. Diner decor, which works for me but may not be what you're looking for.

5 stars. Why? For what it is (small diner) and what they do (outstanding, consistent food) this warrants Five Stars. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, they do it well, dine in or carry out. Today had the Pork Chop Breakfast Special (chop, 3 eggs, hashbrowns and toast) and wife had the chillequilles in green sauce, 3 eggs over easy, which comes with rice and refried beans. OFF THE HOOK. If you haven't been, GO. If you've been before go again; they do a bang up job with everything. Prices are reasonable, limited dining space, but we live right down the street so often carry out.

Another delicious breakfast with my kids at this gem of a neighborhood place! Their omelettes are huge and full of everything you ask for on it. My spinach omelette with muenster cheese has so much of both in it I'm never disappointed. My kids like the veggie omelette and breakfast burrito, we totally recommend those too! Icing on the cake is the free Wifi.

Really big fully stuffed tacos, that are really tasty. Among the best tacos around, I highly recommend this place for sure!

Not only do they make great breakfast they also have great Mexican food. I had the chicken tacos and it was a success! The chicken was very flavorful and not dry like a lot of places. My boyfriend got a steak burrito and it was gone in 30 seconds so I guess it was also good. Can't decide what to eat? Come here! They seem to have it all; from traditional breakfast to Mexican and Burgers. Really nice staff and good inexpensive food. They also always have great specials.

If your looking for great customer service than stay away. The place is so good and so fresh that I can honestly say who cares if she forgets napkins or a drink. One lady taking care of everyone deserves a damn medal. Okay, now food. Enchiladas Verde de pollo, sopa de pollo, steak tacos. I tasted it all and was impressed. Hot, fresh and tasty. Stay away from the red sauce unless you'd like to be on fire. Even the hot wings were made fresh not frozen and crispy. The people are great there. They actually care about you returning, problem is they are understaffed. Hey as long as they keep giving great food I Dont care. ;-) enjoy.

This has been our go to place for the past four years. It is always consistent - good food, friendly service, convenient. The Mexican food is excellent; the breakfast pork chop and the traditional breakfast sandwich are terrific; and if you even want something simple as a grilled cheese and ham, you can't go wrong. It is a neighborhood fixture.
