I really don't understand how pizza places like Lou's and Pequod's gets praised despite their mediocrity, while Nancy's get criticized and overlooked. The pizza is great. Super cheesy; more on the regular pie than a Pequods pizza with extra cheese. The ingredients are plentiful. The dough at times can come overcooked, but it's thin and not overpowering. Also, the sauce is hands down the best in the city. It's thick and chunky, with lots of herbs and seasonings and a little sweet which I'm personally partial to. Though I must admit they can overload it on at times so if you don't like a lot of sauce, ask them to keep it light. So they get docked a point because it can be inconsistent. But even on it's worst day it is better than most of the other pizza places in chicago.

Went there with several friends one weekday afternoon. Even though there were really only two other customers there besides us, it took an amazingly long time for the waitress to stop over, as well as taking our drink orders. There was no music for a nice ambiance - the tv was set on some Spanish station (nothing against that, but it doesn't really fit with the vibe of a pizza place). A little dark in there too; I felt tired just sitting there. However, the pizza itself was good - but I'm very Meh on the appetizers. Probably a good place to just grab a slice on the go, but not much of a dining experience.

was there last weekend right at the end of the night on a friday/saturday night and the guy stayed open late even though he was probably exhausted. It was the kind of move that just says a place is awesome and he was real chicago. That I think is what aside from the pizzas excellence is what I liked about the guy and the joint, that it was from an era of chicago that's passing and not for good reasons. it's great value. I didn't have fresh slices but they tasted fresh and the cheese was thick which is usually the sign that they're putting quality into it and what you want. There was enough tomatoe saucce and it was good. the slices are bigger than usual but it's really worth it. I recommend parking on the street in front, not the neighborhood.

Nancy's pizza is delicious! I ordered for the first time tonight and their original thin crust pizza is awesome. They are a charming, 30 year old, family owned place with friendly staff. Eat Nancy's pizza!

Alright drunk food, but the people working there are unbelievably rude to loyal customers.

Ordered two pizzas from there the other day. The 2.5" thick deep dish, and a thin.. both large.. Set me back 50 bucks.. (2 toppings each) For the price I expected a bit more.. It was nowhere near 2.5" (i didn't think so.. so I actually took picture... It was 1 to 1.5" thick.. which incidentally is the thickness of the thinner deep dish they offer) gconsier.smugmug.com/pho… the crust had a very high ridge.. it was about 2" high gconsier.smugmug.com/pho… flavor was... ok... Don't lose Gino or Lou's #'s.. You'll still be calling them...

Have you ever craved the real deal deep dish pizza Chicago is so famous for but had only been exposed to Giordano's and Uno's and felt like a piece of your experience was missing? Me, too. But blissfully, while stumbling home after a booze cruise, I mean merlot and massage cruise, I was a block from my apartment and decided I was famished and Subway was just not going to cut it. I'll be honest, the 24 Hour Adult Fantasy Bookstore next door mildly caught my attention, but I was implored to keep going the extra ten feet, and what do we discover? PIZZA!! Yay pizza when you're drunk!! At first it looks like nothing more than a short order little area but no! A small but cozy dining area stretches behind with a dozen or so tables. Pizza circulates on the front counter just begging to be gobbled, and boy did I gobble. On to the pizza: We shared deep dish sausage and thin crust cheese and both were uh-mazing. I normally don't care for sausage, but it was inhaled with all the gooey saucy goodness of that slice. The sauce is the kicker, Chicago. It's robust flavors cuts through the cheese and pairs well with the toppings, without leaving that overpowering aftertaste. Pure deliciousness. And can I just say the little man that served us was just adorable? Super fast, super polite, even picked up my Chicago Card Plus off the floor one, two, yep, the three times I dropped it, like the drunken twit I can be. I am in love with your deep dish, Nancy's. Thank you for being one block from my apt.

Thin crisp and nicely browned crust. Perfect amount of home made sauce. Generous cheese. If you live in the hood, hot delivery within 30 mins. What more could you ask for? Yumm.

When I first moved to Chicago in 2004, I was living up on Stratford and Broadway. My friend and I were hungry for some real Chicago-style pizza and stumbled upon Nancy's. It definitely looks like a hole in the wall, and we weren't sure what to expect, but it was close to home, so we decided to try it out. So glad we did! This is my personal favorite when it comes to deep dish pizza in Chicago. Gino's is, in my opinion, overrated. The crust tastes weird. Lou Malnattis has weird flavored sauce. Giordano's is good, but Nancy's really takes the gold in my book. I was visiting friends last week in Chicago, and had to eat here again. The pizza doesn't let you down, and the staff (usually only 1-2 people at any given time) is always friendly. I've also had the pizza by the slice, and it doesn't disappoint either. Great food, great service, and cheap prices. Definitely deserving of a 5-star rating.

This place has a lot of positives. First off, they are open somewhat late. This was key after I walked in some falafel spot close to it and scared the crap out of the girl that was behind the counter when I asked if they were still open. Is it my fault she didn't lock the door? It was 9:30... Next the people behind the counter were super friendly. It makes you want to go back. I got a couple of slices of stuffed spinach and they even offered me extra sauce! That scored HUGE points as it really enhanced the taste.

I'd been to Nancy's several times in the past for the post-game slice after a night of drinking at Murphy's with my friend who used to live on East Wellington. I can't say how good those slices were because it's been some time and because most anything tastes good late night after being over served. On a recent Friday night, I decided to refresh my recollection of what Nancy's tastes like. I was due to see little miss super cute to the tenth power on Friday for, well, I don't know what. It was going to be some sort of date. My lack of planning skills is being seriously exposed. Since it was pouring down rain, we decided to order Nancy's. Thank you, Mother Nature, for saving my tail. Delivery was surprisingly prompt, especially since the delivery guy said he hoofed it down Wellington a few blocks to deliver our 'za. Funny guy. I'll float you an extra buck for laughs. As for the 'za, well, it was okay. It was certainly no Aurelio's. But it did the job in a pinch - just as it always did in the past. Thanks, Nance. Oh, that's Nance, Incorporated, by the way. Three stars.

This is way overdue but needs to be said. In September (2010), we held an informal event/fundraiser in honor of the birthday of a friend who passed away in July. We arranged to play beach volleyball, then meet at our friend's favorite bar. I scouted out places nearby from which to order four or five large pizzas to feed everyone at the bar (which doesn't serve food). It was not a hardcore fundraiser, but we did want to donate as much of people's money to the cause (diabetes research) as possible. I had spoken with the people at Nancy's (the owner?) prior, and he let me know the easiest way to handle the order on that day. When we did order the 4-5 pizzas on the day, and explained the purpose of our gathering, he gave us a discount (can't remember the specifics) which sent a few more dollars into the diabetes fund. They serve good solid pizza -- we ordered the thin crust but I believe they're well known for their stuffed. In any case, many of the 20+ people back at the bar raved about it, so for me the organizer, good news!! I've liked it since living near a suburban location many years ago. Can you find better in this city known for its pizza? Depending on your tastes, I imagine you can. But when you combine a solid pizza with such attention to customer service, it's hard to beat this place. Thumbs up to them...and we'll be back in September.

Um, Nancy, do you typically sell slices of pizza that have been sitting around for hours?!?! I am still confused how you could consciously sell someone a slice that has been sitting there all day. It also might be a little helpful if the person working behind the counter didn't seem so anxious to getting back to her OWN pizza she was stuffing her face with. I don't think I will be back to try again. I probably would have been better investing my $3.64 in the adult bookstore next door. At least I would have gotten a good laugh out something. You might want to change the slogan to "Home of Cold Mushy Stuffed Pizza that's been sitting around ALL F'ing Day!" Anyone have the number for Pizza Hut?

What is a girl to do when she's had too much tequila and is in dire need of some food?? Go to the nearest pizza joint and get some deep fried cheese! I'll be honest. My friends and I went to Nancy's because it was close and they could seat us right away. We ordered the fried ravioli and mozzarella sticks. Fried cheese makes everything better! We also ordered a thin crust pizza, which was ok. We needed food and Nancy's gave it to us.

Been going here for at least 20 years as it's the best stuffed spinach pizza I've had to date. Get it with extra tomato sauce. They sell it by the slice too. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but it's worth the effort.

Some of the best pizza ANYWHERE! All the food is Grade A and the deep dish is the stuff of legend! Highly recommend this place, for delivery or dine in!

My advice? Order a thin crust of any kind and have it delivered. Upon arrival, immediately place the pizza in the fridge for consumption the next morning when it's cold. Seriously! The thin crust pizza is tasty hot too but honestly I love leftover pizza. One of my guilty pleasures is eating leftover pizza right out of the fridge immediately upon waking and Nancy's thin crust is awesome the next day. But if you're going to be all traditional about it and insist on eating it hot either delivery or in the little restaurant I guess that's fine too. I've never had their deep dish but I've had several of their thin crust options with various toppings all of which have been tasty. I've never done delivery myself but thinking about some of the recent pizza delivery experiences I've had I think I'll be giving Nancy's a whirl next time and see how they do delivery. Eating in is fine. I'd skip the appetizers which are really very average and stick with their pizzas. Don't expect five star service but they are fast and efficient which I appreciate.

The only thing I can say about this place is that they have a really mean piece of pepperoni thin slice pizza. It was huuuuge!! Other than that, I pass this place every day, it's def a pick up/delivery kinda place, not somewhere you'd really wanna eat in I guess. That is all. GO GREASE!

  • Tal R.

I live down the street from Nancy's and its my go to when I dont want to wait for Godfather's delivery. However the wait it def worth it because Nancy's is nothing special. Their thin crust just does not cut it and their deep dish is just plain old bad. Even as a late night snack you're better off walking the 2 blocks to Renaldis. Not to mention mention that whenever I pick up a slice to go it is only warm.

After attending a wedding in Chicago, I refused to leave the city without a nice slice of fatbomb deep dish pizza. Unfortunately it was 1 AM and our choices were limited. Luckily, thanks to the Yelp app, we found Nancy's pizza. The pizza was just as delightfully thick as I hoped, but it appeared to have been baked hours before. The cheese had coagulated and wasn't gooey in the least. The sauce was very flavorful, but lukewarm. The crust was good but I can only imagine how great it was a few hours before. I think I saw the potential of Nancy's pizza, but it was certainly not realized at 1 in the morning. While some would see this as a valid excuse, I say, if you're open at 1 AM serving pizza, it shouldn't be any worse than pizza served at 9 PM. If you're going to serve old crap, just close earlier and don't waste my time. As it is, I have no idea when I'll go back to the city of fatty fats and expansive waistlines, so this may have been Chicago's last chance at impressing me.

Used to stop in here late at night on my way home from work. The place was usually a bit empty which was nice considering how late they were still open. It has it's charm. Nice seating area. TV on in the corner. Typical Pizza place. What isn't typical. Is the actual pizza. It's great. Usually just get a slice or two to go of deep dish. Never been disappointed. One was filled with bacon, sausage, and pepperoni. And for under 4 dollars? Now that's a five star slice of deep dish pizza. They even offer extra sauce. The only downside for me. Was their thin crust. Perhaps I just came in on a bad night of leftovers sitting in the heater, but the thin crust was not very good. Eatable? Yes. Enjoyable? I guess. Hard to say. I wasn't that impressed. But the deep dish was amazing. Very friendly service as well I might add.

Nancy's makes a good thin crust. Way better than most "stuffed pizza" places' attempts at a normal pizza. I love that I can walk in there and just buy a slice thats not overly huge, but still a bit floppy like I like it. The crust isn't snap-cracklin-hard like most thin pizzas. Also, its right next to an adult bookstore... so that's convenient, hahaha.

Craving of the night: Thin-crust pizza. (I'm an East-Coaster, gimme a break.) While I absolutely favor deep-dish, sometimes I need home. Enter Nancy's, where I learned how to have the best of both worlds. I called beforehand to find out how late I could wander in and order, and the answer was midnight on a Sunday. Nancy's was off to a good start. I walked down and was greeted by a very friendly man who let me know that in a mere five minutes, I could enjoy stuffed spinach pizza in addition to the sausage that was out already. I'm a vegetarian, so I happily waited for the spinach, and saw a slice of thin-crust cheese in the warmer, waiting to be consumed by me. I rescued it from its confines, and another friendly employee packaged my babies up and charged me a reasonable $7.61 for a slice each of thin-crust and stuffed pizza. Upon returning home, I broke them out of their styrofoam prison and proceeded to chow down. It was exactly what I had in mind. The stuffed pizza was slightly more cheese than spinach, which was a perfect balance. The thin-crust was expansive and cheesy, and I was a happy camper. I'll absolutely be back.

I have lived around the corner from Nancy's for just over 2 years. I have been countless times, and it is always good. Typically I get a slice to go, but I have sat down and ordered dishes other than pizza. I am moving out of the neighborhood soon and will miss Nancy's

Nancy's was recommended to me when I first moved to Chicago. I was still moving in and painting the walls at my new residence when I called in my first delivery order. After that I fell in LOVE, love, love with their stuffed pizza. It is always delivered in a timely manner (stuffed pizzas take longer to make and have about a 45 minute delivery time). Though I have never stopped in to grab a slice at any location, if I were in the neighborhood - I would!

  • Beth F.

Nancy's thin crust is a waste of taste buds, in my opinion. But the stuffed crust? It's darn good. It's not my favorite pizza in the city but I'd definitely say it's above average, especially if you're like me and like to eat at hole in the wall restaurants. I've never ordered carry-out so I can't speak for that, and the one time I tried to get a delivery they weren't answering their phone (whatever), but for dining in, it's cool. Seating has never been an issue, even during "rush" hours. And even though it gives off a dive vibe, it's clean and comfortable. Service isn't fantastic but it's more than adequate. It's fast and efficient--if they say, "your food will be out in xx minutes", it's on your table in xx minutes. I like that. My personal favorites at this restaurant are the fried ravioli and the stuffed crust pizza.

  • Magneto L.

Meh, ok for a slice, but the pies are so overpriced you would think they would come with a free case of beer. And would it kill the delivery guy to wash his hands once in awhile? Geez, and the staff are rude at the counter. Defines mediocrity.

They have the best pizza but the pasta with clams or chicken alfredo pasta is something else!!!!! I love that place.

This pizza was OK. It was pretty small for how much it cost. In general I was unimpressed. I'd give it a 2.5 stars if I could, but I can't.

  • Chris B.

Really the best stuffed pizza I've ever had. We did a taste test between Nancy's, Giordannos, and Lou Malnattis. No contest. Nancy's won hands down. Make sure you ask for extra sauce - it's their secret ingredient.

    (5)
  • Chris F.

Pretty good pizza if you live in the neighborhood. I suspect a lot of people avoid this place because of its low curb appeal but they do a great thin crust.

  • Kenny T.

Just up the street from me is this quiet little pizza joint. Priced the same as the big boys (Gino's Giordano's, etc) and in my opinion tastes just as good, if not better, and certainly less busy! I guess if you want to wait for a table at Giordano's that's all you, but if you want an equally delicious pie without the wait then go to Nancy's!

i've been here about a half dozen times or more, so it is time for a review. what a surprise! the deep dish is awesome, yes with extra sauce please. i can eat two slices and be stuffed. i haven"t ordered a beef sandwich from anywhere, in ages, and this one was exactly right. surprised by the potato fries too. a close spot to home, low key, affordable, delicious pizza pie. i usually grab some slices to go with my girlfriend, but we stay sometimes too.

Nancy's is okay. Their thin crust is decent. Their thick crust is easily outdone elsewhere. There are better options.

  • Bill M.

This is a good pizza place in Lakeview on Broadway. You can order the pizza stuffed thick or have it thin, and the lasagna comes out piping hot if you are dining in the restaurant. The TV's are usually set to some sports programming. A look through the front window may just draw you inside.

This place has the best stuffed pizza in Chicago without a doubt.

  • Audrey S.

Great for after-work deep-dish pizza cravings. There are usually three different kinds of per-slice pies ready to take out, or eat there. The dining room is of a decent size, and enough room to sprawl out. It can be kind of romantic at night with the dimmed lights. Their deep-dish is cooked a little on the doughy side, and they give you plenty of tomato sauce so the pie never gets dry. The sausage deep dish seems to have been made to eat with a bottle of Miller Lite. The bread sticks lack in flavor and are too crunchy. I have never had bad pizza there. Prices are not cheap, but not too expensive for a beer and slice after work.

Well I guess I shoulda paid attention to Mike's review because I didn't know anything about the porn store next door. Though it's probably for the best because anytime I see an inflatable penis in the window of a shop I tend to lose my appetite. What was I talking about? Oh yeah, the pizza. The place wasn't too packed so we didn't have to wait too long to be served. The food was ok. I thought it was reasonable for the price and I rather enjoyed the breadsticks with marinara sauce. It also helped that I could eat the leftovers for lunch the next day. I was a little turned off (how about that porn theme coming full circle, huh?) by the service but I had some good company at the table so I didn't mind. Overall I'd go back here but I think I can find a place with some better pizza.

Don't come here for great service or a great bar. Come here or order delivery for a fantastic stuffed pizza. The pizza has an amazing crust. When my sister is visiting from out of town, there are only 2 places that she will accept for her pizza destination: Nancy's or Carmen's. And she's one of the pickiest diners I know. :)

I used to live around the corner from Nancy's Pizza. It has now been 8 months since I moved out to California and I occasionally crave the taste for the deep dish pizzas that make this place famous! I am heading back to Chicago for a visit in September and definitely plan to stop in for lunch at Nancy's to relive that taste. Thank you Nancy's Pizza, you help define true Chicago Deep Dish Pizza!

An eloquent little dive of a pizza joint that serves surprising good pizza for being located next door to a porn store. The wife and I occasionally grab a slice now and again, but last night we decided to order off the menu. She got the Italian pepper steak. I ordered the Chicken Vesuvio. While she wasn't expecting here steak to be covered in marinara sauce, she contended it was quite good. My Chicken Vesuvio was a garlic lovers dream. The garlic was roasted expertly though and much of the pungency was gone, leaving only the flavor. The chicken was tender as well. I will definitely try it again, and I'm eager to sample their rendition of Chicken Marcella, which I struggle to find a good offering of in many restaurants.

Sorry Chicago, this pizza is the best ever. Deep, as deep dish as it gets! Cornmeal and baked- in- bacon crust. OMG on a twenty below night, nothing satifies like a piece of Nancy's

Yum yum! A hidden gem amongst the deep dish pizza places in Chicago. Great deep dish, with a cornmeal crust that crunches and satisfies. Accidentally ordered the pan crust one time, and it was tasty-good too! Good size side salad, average taste there. On time delivery. Only reason to miss a star is that we haven't tried all the deep dish in Chicago yet - still waiting to give out that 5 star award. However, we will order Nancy's again for sure!

i have bene living in lakeview for 11 yrs now and i have to say nancy's hands down is the best i live right down the block from nancy's and i have to say the calamari marinara is culinary genious served over crisp garlic bread its enough for two people. the sphagetti with the bolognese style meat sauce is extraordinary. the chicken vesuvio is a must. i have brought many out of town visitors from hawaii, georgia, and albuquerque and every time its always the same "this pizza is sooooo gooood! everybody always go back home raving about the pizza. just tonight my fiance mentioned that she was going back to gallup to see her dad who is very ill with lou gehrig's disease and the owner offered to make a stuffed pizza and freeze it for her to take back to gallup on her trip tomorrow so the owner is a really really nice guy. he uses de cecco pasta true italian pasta and a full liqour bar what more can you ask for. and its really poor taste to insult the guy you can express your opinion without having to insult the man just say the food is disagreeable and be done with it! be mature and leave the insults at the school yard ok

This place is a good quick bite pizza place. It isn't the best by the slice pizza but it isn't the worst either. I wouldn't recommend getting a slice to go because it looks like it has been sitting in the warmer forever. I got a slice and sat down to eat and they cut me a fresh slice. It was rather yummy. The thin crust was a little tasteless but it did have plenty of sauce and cheese on it. The service was nice and quick.

  • Rocky B.

Ordered a thin crust, sausage and mushroom pizza from Nancy's last Sunday and it was nothing spectacular. Sausage had a funny taste to it and the crust had no taste. The only reason why I gave this place two stars was because how fast they were and because they give you those little wax packets of chili pepper flakes and parm cheese. For thin crust I'd rather walk the 3 blocks south on Clark to Pizza Luigi's.

  • Audra S.

Nancy's may be 'The Home of Stuffed Pizza' by name, but their deep dish is nothing to write home about. The sauce is overwhelming and too sweet. However, their thin crust is pretty decent, and they're open until 5 a.m. on Saturdays. I've done many a late night run to this spot to satisfy my drunken grumbles.

    (3)
  • Larry B.

My God this place is the best pizza in the world! 2 slices will fill you up, so don't let the price fool you - a large will stuff 4 people full of goodness. The sauce is tomato based, and the vegetables are huge and fresh. The meat is excellent as well. The service is awesome, too. Give them a problem and they'll offer a solution. They will even suggest coupons over the phone. I can't say I was unhappy with the thin crust, but comparing it to the deep dish is no comparison at all. Get Nancy's tonight!

    (5)
  • Dee W.

Decent deep dish pizza but it shouldn't be known as the home for stuffed pizza; other than that, the food is decent but not spectacular and a bit on the pricey side.

  • T M.

This is my fav place in the city to get pizza!! It tastes so good! They sell pizza by the slice, and it's always so good! Even though I don't live in the neighborhood anymore, I have their number in my phone so that I can make sure to order a pizza and pick up if I'm swinging through. Nothing has compared to this taste in the city yet!

  • Tara M.

I give Nancy's five stars all the way. Delicious, homemade style cooking. Try the manicotti, it's served piping hot out of the oven with plenty of sauce and cheese. The Italian sub is also good. I haven't had the thin slice, only the thick, but I think it's great. The best place to come on a cold night at the end of a long week. Fast delivery. It's not expensive at all either. Not sure where those reviews are coming from. When I get delivery, it's well under ten bucks for a ton of food.

  • BRIAN M.

Best thin crust pizza in Lakeview!! When ever I am in this area I have to stop in for a slice and en enselada verde. If they fix the stone floor, the tv do a little remodeling I am sure they will pack the place every night. I have noticed that most of their business seems to be take out and delivery.

    (4)
  • Merissa L.

this pizza is horrible. Cheap ingredients make it taste like...well cheap. On the thin crust the cheese is hard and greasy. The deep dish the sauce was hard and the spinach tasted frozen. The lady working the counter was so nice and prompt but the pizza was just the worst I've had in Chicago and I am from here.

I'm not really a fan of their stuffed pizza. But their thin crust pizza is do-able. Not the best in Chicago, but definitely a contender.

I havent been in here in a while, I used to frequent this pizza place years ago with the ex, but we used to love their thin crust pizza. It seemed like everytime we ordered it, it always was done just right. I never did try their stuffed pizza though. I may have to go back soon and see if it still lives up to its name.

    (4)
  • Lee C.

Nancy's has the best Chicago-style pizza in the city -- I always order mine with spinach. The cheese is perfect and the crust is just right -- not too doughy like other place. The marinara is also key. Their other food is decent. The atmosphere is nice and homey.

  • Hiker Chicka e.

I've only had one slice of the stuffed pizza here: it was delicious. It cost $3 for a tiny 4" slice, so if you usually eat more than a slice of pizza, you might be better off ordering the thin slice. It's a better deal because the slice is generous. UPDATE: I went here the second time, and the pizza sucked. It tasted old. I don't know if this is because I usually buy a slice instead of a whole. But still, what the heck? Couldn't they just heat it up a bit?

2.5 stars Pros: Chicken Cacciatore (my mom's favorite and it is Mother's Day) Oyster crackers! with decent cream of chicken soup Okay garlic bread strips Good arriabata sauce Cons: Absolutely terrible fried calamari (over breaded with breading that didn't stick and way overcooked) It's an old school Italian-American place with decent enough food in large portions. I would go back if my mom wanted the Chicken Cacciatore again, but there's nothing there that would cause me to want to go with a group of friends.

Good stuffed pizza! Loved the sauce flavor but it was a bit watery. The cheese was good too - not overly salty and the crust was nice and crunchy. Sausage was decent but not near as good as the sausage at Pizzeria Due. Service was great too!

Great pizza in the LAKE VIEW section (not a lot of very good late night food options after 11 pm). Staff has always been friendly and easy going. Would return each w each visit.

I almost forgot about this place, They been at this location for last 25 years and let me tell you the owner is still at the counter. Harry is one of the standup guys and really knows how to take care of business. Most of the food is just Awesome and the Broccoli stuffed pizza is unbelievable. Out of this world My other favorite is Chicken Cacciatore . Everything else is great. This is a must place to go if you like good food.

Tried a slice of the pepperoni thin crust and it was better than I expected. The cheese, crust, and pepperoni were all in nice ratios and it was good for a to-go slice ($3.60). Definitely better than places like Bacci's. I will have to try the deep dish next time. Ps- who is Nancy?

Ordered GrubHub from Nancy's. An excellent deep dish pizza. The sausage is great as well as the pepperoni. GrubHub delivery times are pretty reasonable for deep dish pizza. Red peppers and mozzarella cheese provided for free on the pizza box.

I recently moved to lake view and after walking past Nancy's several times ,y boyfriend and I decided to stop in one late night! The service was great and the food was amazing!!! We had a deep dish pizza that was so flavorful! I've had Gino's and Lou's but Nancys beats them both :) can't wait to continue to eat Nancys :)

Not bad for quick pizza especially if you are drunk. Its weird that they have a bottle of stool softener in direct eyesight of the register... slightly off putting

Surprisingly tasty stuffed pizza! I wouldn't recommend eating in the restaurant. Clearly, it's seen better days. When I visited, there was a corner table with a "Reserved" sign on it. No one ever came. We were the only two eating in the restaurant. Get delivery or carry-out. I ordered a stuffed pepperoni pizza and really liked it. The star was a zesty sauce. It was a combination of sweetness and herbs that made every bite awesome. My girl ordered an extra thin crust spinach pizza. I should have broken up with her right then. Predictably, it was just adequate. Nothing amazing. She looked forlornly at me and admitted my pizza was better. I like Nancy's better than Giordano's. Comparing it to Lou Malnati's/Pequod's/etc. should be disallowed since those aren't stuffed. * Bonus: Stuffed pizza leftovers tasted excellent after being reheated.

The pizza was great! It was pretty empty on a Friday night and we got great service. We got the pepperoni thin crust and it was delicious! The crust was crispy and you could tell the cheese was legit. I will probably be back for take out!

Delicious. I got a slice of deep dish and thin crust to go, both of which were yummy! Prefect spot for the price point. Staff was also quite friendly!

The best pepperoni slice one can dream of. Tasty sauce, right amount of grease, just all around amazing! Would love to go back. Affordable, great neighborhood, no frills decor inside, quick and friendly staff.

Looking for classic Chicago style pizza that hasn't gone commercial?! Look no further...pop in for a delicious slice or dine in or even do to-go! Don't forget a Cannoli for dessert...that is if you have any room left!!

If you're looking to try true Chicago Deep Dish, this is the place to go. I'm a pizza minimalist so I just went with the simple cheese pie. One pizza is enough for four to share. The slices are massive, gooey, messy and delicious. If you do order a deep dish pizza, be prepared to wait. It will take about 45 minutes, but I do prefer to eat in than do carry out / delivery. Deep dish is best fresh out of the oven!

Ordered delivery from here on a Sunday late afternoon and got the deep dish with spinach and mushroom, as well as an order of wings. Took about an hour. Food was piping hot, which was excellent. The wings were terrible. I could have went to jewel and bought a frozen bag that's flavored and made them my self. Pizza- was descent, but the sauce needs work. It wasn't as sweet as I like. I think I paid near $30 too, so they are expensive, for not being awesome

I've always ordered from this place through grub hub, but as someone who isn't a big fan of deep dish and prefers thin crust, this was it. I loved the ratio of toppings to sauce to crust and this pizza was always consistently good to me.

Tried carry-out, was bland and cold. Gave it another chance because pizza and nearby. Tried dine-in, still the same. There's no flavor to the pizza, it took a generous serving of crushed peppers to make it palatable. I really really wanted to like this place, guess I'll just have to walk a few more blocks for my fixin's then.

Just waited almost 3 hours for my pizza to be delivered. When it arrived it, it had clearly been in the delivery car for quite some time and needed to be reheated in the microwave. After reheating, the crust has no flavor. There are obviously lots of pizza options to choose from in the city and I will be choosing something else next time.

1 star, because... well, pizza. 2 stars, because I'm trying to be fair. I've only grabbed a few slices from the case and never dined in. Maybe the food quality is better when you dine in (although I find that hard to believe considering from the counter, I could see the pasta line with its overheated, dehydrating marinara sauce in a heating station). I've now had a slice of thin-crust cheese and a slice of deep-dish spinach pizza to go, and I'll give it to you in one word: Blehk. The deep dish crust was soggy and oddly chewy, with bland spinach filling, and crusty sauce. The thin crust cheese slice was something akin to greasy rubber atop a cardboard crust. Now, as I stated before, to be fair maybe it's only the take out pizza that ends up this way after sitting under the heat lamp, but all the same, the flavors weren't there. I won't be back. There has to be better pizza in the area, dudes. Seek it out.

I have no idea how the average rating of this place is where it's at. I dined in and had the "Party" pizza, but I have to say that this party is busted. 1 stars, because the sauce was bland. The vegetables tasted/felt as if they came straight out of the can, and the thickness was that of a thin crust pizza in the center. I would give a second star for service, but that suffered as well. If you're going to provide a mediocre(at best) product, at least smile and be nice. I really wanted to at least be okay with this place as it is in a nice location, but I just can't go back.

I stopped in for a slice after a long day of classes and work today. I had read the reviews so I was a little skeptical but decided to give it a try. BAD IDEA. Like other reviews had warned, the pizza was dry, the cheese was yellowing and it was rubbery. My guess is that it had been sitting out for quite some time. It should NOT have been served to customers. Perhaps a made to order pizza would be better but I wouldn't even try it. Aside from the pizza, the lady that was working was less than personable. I tried to make small talk, nothing. You don't have to be over friendly, but a smile would have been nice.

Don't write this place off, just because it looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, between popular Cesar's and an Adult book store. The exterior might look like nothing at all, but they serve up my favorite deep dish pizza in all of Lakeview. They do slices, take out, delivery, and eat-in. Here's why: they use a bit of spice in the tomato sauce but while still maintaining a sweet edge, and the cheese quality and crust quality is really good and flaky without being too heavy. You can buy a whole pie, or take slices ready to go. The price is good -- about $20 for a large stuffed with a few toppings, and I've never had a bad pizza here. The only real downside to this place is that it feels very 70s-rific when you are inside. The wood paneling and tablecloths and carpet give it a total retro-dive-vibe. However, they will put more sauce on your pizza if you ask, they will give you spice packets and parmesan packets with your take-out, extra well wrapped packaging on take out and delivery, and they are super friendly. I just don't understand why this place isn't more popular. I guess people judge a book by its cover because the pizza is so good! Give them a shot, really, I think you'll be impressed. They make a good calamari appetizer too.

You know how some Yelpers will often begin reviews with "I really wanted to like this place, but..."? Well, I'm going to set my ego aside and include such a statement in0 my review, and for good reason. Here's why. I love deep dish and stuffed pizza. I mean LOVE IT. I could eat Lou Malnati's, Gino's East or Giordano's in a three day rotation for the next year and would not get sick of it. However, I often don't purchase a whole pie unless I have others with me to devour the bad boy. And as my roommates are "health freaks," I'm often the lone aficionado of the tomato-and-cheese pie. So I look for places selling pizza by the slice. My first experience was Chicago's Pizza -- great when I was drunk, pretty bad when I was sober. Next up was the highly recommended Art of Pizza, yet I was kind of turned off by it's thick and doughy crust and overpowering sauce. Some might like it, but it wasn't for me. Then alas, I heard about Nancy's! I've had their pizza back in the burbs probably about 15 years ago, and remember it being pretty good. However, I never knew they sold pizza by the slice! Thinking I had finally found the holy grail, I ventured in around 6:30 p.m. on a weekday for a slice. Unfortunately, however, I felt as if I was the guy from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade who drank from the wrong cup. The pizza had potential -- the crust wasn't to thick, the cheese was plentiful, the sauce was decent (a little overpowering still with the spices, but not too bad). However, there was one problem -- IT WASN'T FRESH. The cheese was not stretchy and had that yellowish tint that old mozz often has. The sauce was beginning to have that caked-on consistency. The crust wasn't crispy at all, kind of mushy actually. And the sausage brought absolutely nothing to the party. Maybe they were just having an off night ... who knows. However, I hate lukewarm old pizza, and I don't want to risk having my heart broken by Nancy again. So it looks as if my hunt for the Chicago Deep Dish slice continues.
