I LOVE Mugs pizza. The secret is to order a whole pie...not the slice. Its typically fresher (get a small pizza. take the leftovers w/you). Also, ask for "cheese" in addition to your other ingredients - you get double. And, thin crust is definitely the way to go. I also really like that the wings are deep fried and come w/the sauce "on the side". It is not the typical presentation so purists may sneer, but we love them! Order the hottest. Its not that hot and very tangy (if you like the vinegar type wing). I have been ordering here for 5 years. The lady that answers is always nice to me. ALWAYS. And the delivery guys are very polite and fast. Of course I order 3X a month for 5 years, so maybe loyalty pays off. PS - I have no clue why some people have had a bad experience. I blame them. Seems all to be related to communication and not the food.

Never a bad experience here, great food, reasonable prices, ready when they say it will be and never an attitude from the staff

Went back here tonight.....same awesomeness. Pizza maybe alittle too greasy but it was piping hot out of the oven and tasted great going down.

It's not gourmet, but if you're stumbling in for a big ass slice of pizza at 2:30 in the morning, you won't mind. "By-the-slice" portions are jaw-dropping, especially for the price. Customer service can be a bit of an issue, but it's never been a deal-breaker for me.

Who knew you could get a really good potatoes au gratin at a place called Mug's Pizza and Ribs? But you can! Combo that sucker with ribs and chicken dinner, and your you've got yourself an unbelievable meal. Oh, yea, this place has pizza, too! The pizza is very good. Get them by the slice, which any where else would be small pizza. Yeah, they're that big. Ordered a big, family sized pizza when I had friends over. The pizza is the size of a folding card table. Added bonus that this place is open 'til 3AM. Yay, Mugs!

Menus for Mug's were passed out around my neighborhood. I wanted to give them a try. I decided to get dinner and ordered pizza. The pizza was good. There was a lot to the pizza. A good amount of the ingredients was on top of the pizza and the crust was a little bit thicker thin crust. The flavor of the pizza was good. The Italian Sausage was very high quality. The people were nice and friendly. There are a few tables inside. I will be returning. Next time I think I'm going to try the ribs.

Delicious pizza (and you can get just slices), open until 3a.m., within walking distance from my house, not too expensive... it's a winner! If it's ever late at night, and I'm out in the area, and need of something quick to eat, I'll stop by here.

When the owner is there the place is great. When those dope smoking teenagers are running the place its a dive. I realize it's hard to get good staff at 3 am but get rid of the riff raff.

What kind of pizza place doesn't have slices when they advertise "Giant Slice"? Then when I asked if they had more or if I could order a whole pizza, the cook gave me a scowl. I think if I'm in the burbs I'll starve till I get home to hit up Chicagos Pizza.

The current Mug's location has been a through a host of different management personal, business titles, and, perhaps most importantly, tastes in pizza. It first went under the name "Di Nicos Pizza". Short lived, Di Nicos was followed by, what I remember to be called, "Pizza Pan". In spite of all of these changes in title one consistency has remained. That is, their slices of pie have remained respectably large and have remained under $5. Unlike Bacci's, another Chicago joint known for its large slices, Mug's pizza is has a much thinker, more doughy crust which makes it quite enjoyable. Additionally, the fact that it's open till three a.m. gives it an attractiveness which shines down Harlem avenue to the doors of teen stoners, to the drunks at Morrison's Roadhouse, and to the regular joe craving a taste of Northside pizza. The problem which keeping such late diner hours is that it seems to promote a constant "guessing game", if you will. Staff members and management both posit conjectures which influences the quality and freshness of the available product. In other words, if you go in late at night, you're most likely going to get a slice that has been sunbathing under heat lamps for an extended period of time. The moral of Mug's is this: If you're getting a slice avoid late hours and, if you have the option, calling in for pick up usually ensures a better tasting pie as opposed to ordering and waiting in shop.

First ate at Mug's the night my husband and I rolled in to town, moving to Park Ridge from TX. Since then, it's been our go-to ordering joint. Nice people, good service, great pizza. Open late, too!

I only been here twice w/my bf so not sure how all the food taste like except the pizza and fries. It's okay the pizza is really HUGE and I can't finish it all. It taste good, but there is too much grease.I love a generous amount of cheese as I am an avid cheese lover but not too much to make a pizza greasey. In addtion, it wasn't hot, just room temperature. Fries at least were fresh and hot. It's just a lil place to do take out more than sit in and it usually has cops by there all the time especially at night,, I see them all the time because my bf's house is on the way there to the joint. Eh its nice cuz its open late I guess too. Rather go someplace else though...

mmm, still 2 stars since last visit. until they upgrade their pizza recipe, or make thinner/cheesier pizza, then it'll earn more. had the chicken fingers too. to my surprise, it was good. a good size and good price. i would think it's probably the best bang for the buck item on the menu. a neg would be that there's no honey mustard. just ranch and bbq.

We came in here for lunch the other day to grab two slices of pizza. There weren't any slices available when we got there so decided to order something small to munch on while we waited. During the wait we almost wanted to walk out. Keep in mind that it is early March and very cold in Chicago. They kept the front door wide open the entire time while they were bringing in their supplies for about 10-15 minutes! It was absolutely freezing in the dining area . That was extremely rude of them and showed that they have absolutely no consideration for their customers. When I went up to the counter to get some condiments (salt, pepper and ketchup), the woman behind the counter seem extremely bothered by my request and gave me an empty bottle of ketchp. Once our pizza was finally ready we took two take out boxes and left. That was my first and last time going to Mug's Pizza shop.

I love their ribs. I usually order delivery and the ribs come in delicious. Ordered rib tips this last weekend and they were a little tough but amazing. Will for sure be ordering more.

My daughter and I LOVE their pizza! We always make sure to order it well done though! Found this place when we lived in Arlington Heights, but now it's back to the city! Glad there's still a Mug's by us!

Mugs. What happened? From maybe 2009 to 2014 I have been eating at Mugs, using it as a super late option for super big slices of pizza. Their hours were later than nearly every other restaurant, so that was great. Single slices are now no longer offered. If you request a single slice, the slice is taken from a storage unit and thrown into an oven...by a worker in back not using gloves. That's right, no gloves. So in the meantime while I wait for my small $4 slices of pizza, I have what looks to be an 18-23 year old guy behind the counter, give me an evil eye like I just insulted his mom. Customer service dude, don't be a negative Nancy at work. I had a direct line of sight to the oven. After it was done, it was removed with a large utensil, then placed into the container by hand. By hand! I've worked in Pizza places, they're hot and you will sweat. Should I remind anyone here that sweat is just about the same substance as your urine? Great, eh? Here's your smaller than usual, over priced slice of pizza that was barehanded by a sweaty worker while our employee looked at you like you didn't belong there.....that's the farewell greeting I expected. Instead all I heard was 'you want ranch? That costs extra' Goodbye Mugs. Shame you went sour. Hopefully your employees leave their attitude at home and your workers start using gloves all the time instead of during a health inspection.

I like the late night hours and they have great steak fries !! The Pizza slices are just OK. It's usually only cheese slices late night which sucks during the day they usually have sausage slices.

  • Kathy G.

Great pizza and awesome for all the night owls out there! The only reason I give it a 4/5 is because the last couple of times that I've ordered from Mugs, its taken over an hour to get to my house. Besides that, its some of the best pizza around.

  • Abby P.

Great pizza!!!! I recommend their pizza with bacon, YUMMMM. You would never guess it but their ribs are sooooooo good, and their au gratin potatoes.

  • Mary B.

We have been going here for years but had a bad experience today. We ordered a pizza and they wrongly marked it as pick up, instead of delivery. When we called Mugs to see what was taking so long, the woman informed us that it was marked as pick-up, not delivery. When we asked for that to be corrected, she said "I guess" and hung up on us. On top of that, the fried mushrooms were burned. It was disappointing to say the least and we won't be going back.

It's not merely bad pizza it's.....SHOCKINGLY BAD. I find it astonishing that anyone pays for such horrible garbage. You could melt some cheese on a Ritz cracker and microwave it and it wouldn't be any worse lol. I actually give them no stars, but I posted 5 stars because it gets more views and I feel it's my civic duty, as well as an act of mercy, to tell as many people as possible how bad the pizza is at this place. Whoever owns this place has no shame and is completely okay about taking money for such incredible crap. If Chef Robert Irvine tried this pizza, he would fall off his chair in horror. Gumba Joe's by the tracks in Park Ridge blows this place away and once you try some wonderful pizza there, you will NEVER dine at Mug's again.

It was Superbowl Sunday, weather sucked. Party I was supposed to go to was called off due to the snow. Nothing in the kitchen for SB nosh. I decided to order a pizza. Called at 3:30. Granted its only a couple of miles from where I live now in Niles so I expected at least an hour to 90 minute delivery time. 4:15 I get a call from the driver apologizing that he might be a bit late. I told him to take his time. 15 minutes later I get a knock on my door. Here is my pie, hot and smells great. Driver was courteous and deserved the 20% tip. Now the pizza... I ordered the Mug's Monster Delight. A 14" pizza with 5 topping of your choice and extra cheese for $17.95 with a $2.25 delevery charge. I got double pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms and green olives. Usually when you order bacon, you get these thin crumbles that give a hint of flavor. Not the bacon Mug's uses. This is chunks of bacon that you can chew on and actually taste. The sauce was tangy, cheese was perfect and the crust was pretty good and not greasy. I was NOT disappointed. . I will definitely be ordering pizza again.

We have ordered all the time from here . The food is great.. Service sucks!! There have been multiple times where our food has taken over 2 hours, and also have been told they were unable to deliver to us on behalf of them being "too busy"you should not promote that you guys are open for delivery when you continuously deny delivery orders. It's obvious you need to hire more staff/drivers..'considering that ITS ISopen late delivery spot And as for the one on Chicago, Teresa the manger also told us they were too busy to "come our way"

I've been ordering from mugs over 2 years I never had a problem until this one time the lady taking the order for delivery claiming that she's the owner / manager. I ordered a pizza and there were some miscommunications and when the food arrives I realize that they screw up my order which I called back and the lady who took the order, manager / owner was giving me a major attitude. And they didn't do nothing about it, and I threw the pizza away. And that was the last time I'm ordering from mugs pizza on Harlem.

I have been a customer for about the past 2 years. I love mugs! I usually order the hamburger with fries. I have enjoyed their juicy, quarter pound hamburger and soft thick buns every time I ordered from Mug's. I thought to myself wow, a delicious filling burger at a reasonable price! But just tonight, I could not believe what I bit into! Instant disappointment! The hamburger was half the size it originally was. Quarter pound NOT! It was thin, and somewhat stiff. The bread looked fresh and thick, but as I bit into it, it was awfully stale. I was sooo surprised of this change. They changed the meat and bun quality. It was almost comic when I initially looked at the thick, fresh looking bun, to come to see the ridiculously thin sliced, meat. Even though I moved away a little further, I cannot believe I drove to pick up a cardboard sandwich. Definitely not worth your money if you are looking to eat a burger there. It is inexpensive, but please provide your customers with better food.

First of all, this place should be restricted to take-out, and that is the only bad thing I have to say. They are not understating the fact at all, that they have giant slices of Pizza and have delicious ribs. My kids absolutely loved them both, and they are extremely picky eaters, so you know it has to be good. Will definitely come back, whenever I'm in the mood for ribs

First time ordering from here. Really good pizza. You can't go wrong with the mug's 4 way. Friendly staff and the food was ready in less than 30 minutes.

We order from Mugs a decent amount. Pizza pretty good, never really had anything else. Customer service is not the best, the person inside at the counter is not very friendly and doesn't make you feel welcome when you walk in, and I think shes the owner.

Meh... grid cut pizza is always a first sign to me that something is...amiss...wrong....incorrect...every slice should have a handle or am I crazy?

This has been my favorite pizza place for over 5 years. The sauce is so flavorful. The crust is amazing. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. My pizza has never taken more then a hour to come. I legit have went out of my way just to get this pizza. I suggest the 4-way pizza it's very good especially the side with the pepperoni.

  • Mike P.

When you order a whole pizza, it ends up being pretty good. The problem is that I go for a quick slice usually and those aren't remotely the same caliber. Totally different recipe and they're almost always dried out from sitting under the heat lamps. I would give 4 stars if they corrected this mistake.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
