Now everyone that knows me KNOWS I like my deep dish pizza. However, thanks to Martinos, I am now a little bit more closer to liking thin crust almost as much as deep dish. My aunt picked up a thin crust pepperoni pizza and brought it over to Swedish where my grandmother (RIP) was at when she was sick. It was about 10pm at night and maybe it was because I hadn't eaten all day,but it was soooooooooooooo good. The crust was crispy and the sauce was terrific, there was perfect amount of sauce . There was a ton of cheese which I will not complain about. Il be eating more martinos more often hellz yea!

I liked it, one of the best thin crusts, will order again:-)

Last night, along with our meal we ordered these things called "garlic sticks". Oh my...I have a new addiction. These light and crispy, garlicky and slightly cheesy strips of savory goodness are amazing! I bought only a half a pound since it was the first time we were trying them, but for not even half again the price you can get a full pound of these yummy treats. Which is what I will do, soon. To try them is to love them. *burp*

One of my favorite Italian places in the city! And I don't think it's because I grew up on their food. Pizza is awesome, eggplant is awesome, any of the pastas are awesome, minestrone soup is awesome, pizza crust breadsticks are awesome.... I think you get the picture.

I love Martino's thin crust pizza!! The ingrediants always taste really fresh! I usually get it delivered and the few times that I have been in the restaurant, I was happy to see that it is very clean inside, including their bathrooms! It feels good to eat from a place that you know has clean bathrooms!!

I am a big fan of the pizza. I have been going here since 1984 and it is my place for pizza. Thin stuffed or pan you can't go wrong.

This place has hit rock bottom and has kept digging. Once a staple, the daughter has run it into the ground. Go to Calo's or Colletti's. I'd go to domino's before ordering from here again. Food is awful and the staff is worse. Read some of the other reviews and you'll get the picture.

We place orders for delivery a few time a month from here. Prices aren't bad, nor is the food. Wish their food had a little more kick to it, but it does a nice job for those nights when you're really not looking to make dinner.

Everything here is delicious. I've been eating here for ten years. The staff is always very nice.

Great stop for homemade food.....to bad they can't figure out how to put a website up so people can see there menu and maybe place a to go order. two stars for no website and no tv to catch on who is winning the local pro team scores at least. 2nd trip in find the food and pizza to be great, but now have pushed the envelope on the prices....try 3 dollars for a soft drink.

We have been ordering from Martinos for over 20 years. Their quality in good food and service has quickly declined. Tonight as we were cleaning up dinner we had ordered, came across a creepy crawler which resembled a silver fish in our French fries When we called to speak to the owner Rose she went irate on myself telling me to shut the f up claiming we we were trying to pull some sort of scam. Never once apologizing that a bug was found In our food rather attacking me over the phone. Do not eat or get delivery from this place! terrible just terrible. Shame on you Rose you have lost several families in the neighborhood due to your ignorance.

Easy street parking at this neighborhood staple, despite the snow. Nice selection of standard Italian, all of which is tasty and satisfying. Thoroughly enjoyed the chicken marsala, while my dining companions opted for pizza, chicken vesuvio and italian beef casserole. Everybody came away full and happy.

Great, great food. Been coming here for years and it's still just as good.

I really like this place a lot, the food is awesome and the service is friendly. Not the place to go if you are in a hurry, but for a relaxed atmosphere and quality Italian food for reasonable prices, it's hard to beat, especially the pastas. Parking is readily available on the street, and it's kid friendly.

Love this place. It clearly has a strong regular crowd and was decorated in the late 80 ' s. The staff are genuine and accommodating.

Have been ordering from Martinos for years. Their pizza is usually decent for the price, however it often arrives cold if you order delivery. We put up with that and never complained. However, the last time we ordered, the pizza did not have any toppings on it, even though we ordered pepperoni and were charged for it. That's fine, mistakes happen and I can understand that. However, when we called the restaurant to politely explain there was no pepperoni on our pizza, they refused to do anything about it since we already ate a few slices of the pizza. Well we waited an hour for the pizza and were starving, of course we would have a couple slices. Most of the pizza was still remaining. The manager was very rude and plainly stated that she doesn't care if she loses our business, she would not send us a new pizza or offer any discount. I don't think I've ever had such a rude encounter at a restaurant. Due to this rude service, we will not be returning.

There was a tiny rock in the pizza that cracked my tooth. I had to get a very expensive crown. When I called to talk to the manager I politely explained what happened. I knew that any compensation was a long shot, but I thought I would get an apology at least. All I got was defensiveness and a rude denial that it happened. She asked which pizza it was and when I told her, she said,"there is nothing like that in that pizza!". Well, obviously rocks aren't in the ingredient list... She insinuated I was lying and said it wasn't their problem. The pizza was ok, and this rock was so small I don't really hold them responsible for overlooking it, but I'll never eat there again after talking to the rude manager.

The thin crust pizza, canolli's and Rick the delivery guy bring this to a 10 star place. Unfortunately, I have had friends that have had terrible arguments with staff when it comes to making any kind of a complaint. So... with a bit of a warning ahead of time, this is good food, good prices and personally, I like ordering for delivery more than sitting in the restaurant.

We went there for the first time with family for dinner and enjoyed Martino's food and service. The spinach lasagna was delicious, but THE BEST was service and our waitress Kristina from Lithuania. She was very sincere, attentive and pleasant. We will definitely be back there to see her. Place bit outdated so only gets 4 stars :)

Nothing wrong with the food. But they tend to mess up your order quite often. When you call to let them know, the woman who owns the place is BEYOND rude and nasty. Even drops the F-Bomb on you. Enough is enough. It's funny, all the reviews with similar situations are in the "Reviews not recommended" section...

Family restaurant classic on Peterson Ave on a non-descript block. The ambience is kind and nothing to rave about. The menu is decent and they have consistently excellent service with less consistent results on their Italian dishes. The fried chicken is actually a pleasant guilty delight here, fresh, generous, and tasty. The chicken parmigiana on a good night is diner delicious and on off nights it can be a little disappointing. What they do have very consistently and almost always perfected, is their thin crust pizza! Carry out or dine in, you can even call ahead to have the pizza timed to your arrival to satiate the hungry kids in your family. The pizza has quality ingredients with excellent sauce that isn't too sweet or sloppy. Cheese is of great quality and not overdone, served up with a great finish that is slightly browned with elastic gooey goodness that is served in a cracker like crust that is seasoned well. If this is all they served, they'd still win. Kudos to a family run restaurant in this neighborhood.

The spinach lasagna was delicious They could use a separate area for pick up though. Not a big deal but or order wasn't ready so we had no where to wait but sit at 2 top. The dining room wasn't busy but I could imagine Friday & Saturday this could be an issue ppl picking up order. The waitress who had accent was very nice gave us water while we waited and apologize for the wait. We will def go back & tried pizza due other reviewers.

This place is amazing. I've grown up in the neighborhood all my life. I've gone to martinos all my life. I would have to say the thin crust is really good and catering and renting the place out for party's is also very good! Carmella and rose are the owners. Very good.

Had food delivered from here last night. I had the Eggplant Parm, Stuffed Mushrooms and washed it down with an RC Cola. I have to say that the eggplant was really good, not too much breading but flavorful. The stuffed mushrooms were tasty but I could've done without the pesto sauce, it just didn't look good swimming in all that sauce. The bread was also soft & tasty, and who doesn't like an RC Cola???

Outstanding thin crust pizza. The sauce is sweet and the sausage is tasty. Kristina is very friendly and has an amazing memory. Been eating there since the late 70's. Just wish the garlic breadsticks were always given out.

I write this review after a hilariously bad experience with this restaurant and their customer service. My family and I have been loyal customers to Martino's for well more than a decade. We had a bad experience with the service we received a few years ago, but decided to continue to order from this restaurant because we enjoyed the pizza so much. I ordered a pizza and gave them my credit card number to pay. I was told the pizza would arrive "within the hour" as usual. An hour passes and I call to check with the restaurant since this was out of the ordinary. I was told the pizza would arrive shortly. When the pizza arrives we are asked for cash despite taking the measures to pay credit. Luckily we could provide the cash at such short notice. Additionally the pizza is lukewarm! We call to find out why the pizza wasn't paid for with our credit card and we're responded to with blatant lies to cover up for their mistakes. The manager as well as the employee lied about the time we ordered our pizza when THEIR receipt clearly stated otherwise. They also tried to say we had our pizza for an hour when that aligned with neither the truth nor their terribly formulated cover up. The manager also tried to tell me how hot the pizza sitting in front of me was. She never apologized, nor offered a way to correct the issues, she simply created a new lie as a rebuttal to everything I had to say.

Really good simple Italian dishes. They're thin crust pizza is great, chicken Parmesan also really great. My brother is the pickiest person and loves their chicken tenders. Love Martino's, nearby, good prices, good food.

My friend swears by it...........so we came for some pizza the other night. here is my review of each item i had. Bread: GOOD....soft butter not hard cold butter is key! Cesar Salad: AVERAGE......the side of dressing was very thick and hard to drizzle on my salad......was like plopping glue on my salad Baked Clams: BELOW AVERAGE....kind of rubbery and the plate of baked clams had NO JUICE on it to be mopped up with bread. PIZZA: AVERAGE..........not a fan of their crust, whatever it is........i mean it was good.......but maybe because i was starving. Overall, I think the Pizza is very OVER RATED. I still prefer PETES's to this joint. The Pro's is that it's just far enough that I am out of their delivery zone. That my friends is a GOOD THING. Most likely won't be back.....maybe when I am 75 years old like the rest of the patrons. Oh and a ONE TOILET washroom? Seriously??? Who has that? Some old man took a dump right before me and I had to smell that crap as I went in after him...............YUCK!!!

Martino's is the perfect example of Italian family cooking and our go to place for pizza. Pan and thin are both delicious, so it is always a hard decision for us! The entrees are great and their catering menu is extensive. We have ordered for all of our son's graduation parties, and our guests leave happy. Go to Martino's...excellent food and service!

Awesome family restaurant with the flavors and feel of home. The thin crust pizza rocks a crispy cracker like crust.. yummy buffalo wings and very courteous service. Martino's is definitely my go to place for pizza, friendly service and yummy appetizers. Always a good experience!!!

Not 5 stars as I remembered it, but still damn good. Maybe my taste buds have changed since I've been here last, but the dishes were not the knockout dishes that they once were. We're talking at least 10 years since I've enjoyed their food. Linguine with clams...above average. Eggplant parmesan...above average. Baked mushroom appetizer....glad some things remain the same. Maybe if I didn't abandon my go-to place of my youth, I would've added the last star. Looks like I need to start coming here again on a regular basis because this place deserves it.

I've always ordered pizza to go as a kid from here and loved their thin crust so much I never bothered trying anything else. The other week I took my wife here for dinner so that I could revisit an old childhood joint and try something new as well. We ordered the thin crust special and the Chicken Veusvio. The chicken was good but the sauce was fantastic. When the waitress asked us if we wanted bread to dip in the vesuvio sauce we declined and proceeded to dip our pizza in the sauce instead. Wow. I'm angry I never tried this until now and I'm also glad I live really far away from this place because I'd probably gain a ton of weight if I still lived in the area. I'll have to try the stuffed next time.

Martino's. My heart. My parent's like to say that in 1974 when the moved into their house a few blocks away from this family owned local gem, they ordered a pizza and ate it among the moving boxes in a then empty home, and they never looked back. Since then a lifetime has passed, children were had, and raised, and out the door, yet Martino's has been a staple throughout. And all these decades later we still dedicate at least a couple of our family Sunday dinners a month at Mom and Dad's to satisfying our collective need for a Martino's fix. Maybe it's because their pizza and pasta are what I grew up eating, but I have never found a pizza or order of baked mostacholi with marinera could ever love the same. Even eating their mozzarella stix, with hot delicious homemade marinera turns a fried standard into a near delicacy. Over 28 years, I can count on one hand the number of times that I have eaten inside their comfortable and quite dinning room, so I might not be the best to speak to that, but I will say everyone of those few times was just swell. The waitresses most often handle the front of the house pick-ups along with the owner Rose, or her daughter Carmella, and the service has always been great. They never mess up our orders, even when they are rather large and we almost always have it delivered. I strongly recommend Martino's. As a matter of fact, when my sisters and I show up with a new "friend" every once in a while for those Sunday dinners, we all secretly judge him based on his reaction to the thin crust pizza, pastas, salads, and whatever else we fill his plate with. If he shares our love for this quality restaurant, he's gained a number of points. Tje only negative thoughts I have about this place come when I think about all the thousands of bucks we have spent their over the years. But supporting quality local business isn't some civic duty here, it's just innate. Your taste buds will make the choice for you. Now, I think that's an endorsement!

pretty awesome old-school italian place. i was somewhat trepid about this place, what with the 80s suburban decor and lack of customers. the waitress was super nice and attentive, though, and the lasagna stuffed me to the point where i didn't have to eat for another 15 hours. the place got pretty packed by the time i was done, and i think the next-youngest person in there was about twice my age.

Having not been here for years, I experienced Martinos for the final time last night. While I never remembered the place for decor, it is old and dull, I do recall decent food at a decent price. I ordered the broiled chicken dinner with a baked potato. The meal comes with soup or salad. The salad was simple iceberg lettuce, with a pretty decent homemade Italian Dressing. I asked the waitress if I could order all white meat on the chicken. While there was an up-charge ($2.50), I was fine with that until I saw what I received. I ended up with two chicken breasts and two wings that were barely enough for dinner. I honestly have never seen smaller chicken breasts before. When I saw how dry the chicken was, I asked for some barbecue sauce to help out. Now I dine out fairly frequently, I do not recall ever being charged ($.99) for barbecue sauce ... which by the way was a surprise charge when the bill came. Really???

I remember when Martino's used to make deep dish pizza--I don't know if they still have it on the menu. My family would order delivery from here--beats having to go to Lou Malnati's in Lincolnwood. We stopped after my mom insisted that the pizza we got was undercooked and too dough-ey, but I remember just being too hungry to care.

I had a pretty bad experience with delivery from this place. According to grubhub.com Martino's delivered to my boyfriend's old apartment. We called and they couldn't deliver that far, which is fine. Then once my boyfriend moved, we tried again and this time, they said they would deliver. Woo hoo. We ordered the Four-cheese stuffed pizza. It was decent but certainly not good enough to dignify the awful way in which the delivery guy treated me. I went down the three floors to get the pizza when he arrived. I open the door and he says "I don't have a pen" and it wasn't in an apologetic or even nice way at all. It was straight up rude, as if it was my fault he forgot the pen. He then came up with me to get the pen, again this would have been fine, if he didn't berate me about how far he had to drive to deliver us the pizza. "Do you actually know where Martino's is located?" is what he said in a tone that implied I was extremely stupid for even thinking to order from them. I explained that both the woman on the phone when I ordered and Grubhub.com was what gave me the impression they delivered to our area. He scoffed and laughed at me and said a very sarcastic "ohhh. Ok.". So overall, the pizza was fine. The price was fine. The woman on the phone, really nice. The delivery driver? Totally mean guy who I should have stiffed on the tip. I guess hindsight is 20/20.

This is my favorite pizza place. When I lived in the neighborhood, I would order from Martino's at least once a week. Delivery was quick (I lived only a couple blocks from the restaurant). Food was slow to arrive when eating in the restaurant, but it was always good. I highly recommend the pizza here.

We order from Martinos when we want a good thin crust pizza delivered quickly. The pizza is good, and the delivery is quick. The prices are so-so for what you get, but everything is going up these days. I still enjoy their pizza, and it is a change from what we usualy get so I do recommend trying it.

Martinos is not very good. Yet it's one of our favorite restaurants. Think nice, older place, maybe circa the '70s. i.e. clean, includes booths and tables, and a service bar at one end. It happens to be near where we live, which is why we started going -- but, no, that's not why we keep going back. The appeal: they have some very good menu items -- we love the caprisiosa pizza, eggplant parmasiana, and the neat seasoned crackers that come in the bread basket, probably cut out of pizza dough. But, to my taste, that's it. Otherwise -- well, any Italian restaurant with bland pasta sauce is off to a bad start. Tonight, again, I took a wrong turn on the menu and ordered pasta del mare. It looked wonderful, heaped with shellfish, shrimp, scallops. But all overdone, and -- while I could have forgiven that -- there was no flavor in the pasta, none, and ....well, there it was again, that sorry, bland tomato sauce on top. Maybe the tip-off is the clientele we saw when exiting: mostly the two ends of the spectrum: young families with kids (pasta's a safe choice!) and older adults with plain tastes. Yeah, we'll be back. But if you come, stick to pizza and recommended items.

I've been going to Martino's for 20 years now. They have great thin crust pizza and the chicken noodle soup is my favorite! My only complaint would be the fact that it can be over priced: no free drink refills and $2.80 per topping on a pizza. But it's a great neighborhood mom and pop restaurant with great Italian food!

the good: they open till midnight. Plenty of parking space. Thin crust Pizza is great. Garlic bread is garlicky good. the bad: I've tried 3-4 dishes. Fettucini alfredo is dry and flavourless. So is Cod fish. A SUPER dry and plain baked potatoe. I felt like eating in a desert where evrything around me is dehydrated and my body was about to twist. Every bite from that baked potatoe continues to stuck in my throat. I mean, stick with the pizza, seriously.

Been ordering for delivery for almost 20 years; yummy, prompt delivery an easy phone ordering as they pull-up your delivery info via your phone number! My favorites are the classic thin crust pizza, veal with lemon and spinach, friend shrimp/mushrooms/scallops...always hot and great. I've never "eaten in" so can't rate ambiance, wait-staff etc. The most recent delivery guys have been extremely pleasant and polite, in the past a few surly characters who scowled at a $3 tip on a $15.00 order!?!?! Maybe he was having a bad day/week/life. OH, and the Italian beef and sausage sandwiches are also yummy. Skip the coleslaw, and go for salad. Also, their cocktail sauce (for the fried shrimp) tastes like pizza sauce, so just add a squeeze of lemon and some horseradish and voila!

I live 4 blocks away from Martinos. I used to get pizzas from them. A lot of pizza Really, Alot from them. So much that atleast every 2 months I'd get a free small pizza with 20 coupons. Every time I got the "free" pizza they put almost no ingredents on it. WTF!! That was strike 1, The pizza was hit or miss. Sometimes it was really good Sometimes it was okay. Strike 2. I called one time to get a pizza with the free small pizza. Almost no cheese. Very little sauce. I talked to the old owner. He told me LOUDLY the pizza is free what do You expect. I am a RETURNING customer That means that I shop buy alot from You. You should take care of them. Strike 3.

We have ordered from Martino's several times over the years, and found it to be fair at best. I find the pasta sauce to be so bland, so I stayed clear of ordering any. Tonite I was too tired to cook, so we ordered from Martino's. Mom ordered a dinner salad, which was 3 dollars. When it came, it was like a cup of iceberg lettuce with a sliver of tomato. I had to cut up extra tomatoes to provide her a meal. I know you don't get alot for 3 dollars these days, but you get more from the Mac Donalds side salad for a dollar and it tastes better. The rest of the order was fair. I don't think we will be ordering from here again. Too many good places to try.

The stuffed is the bestest. Sauce is almost sweet, slices are filling. Try Martino's Special or around the world, its got a bit of everything around the pie. Thin crust is excellent as well. This place is MUCH better than Lou Malnatti's or Giordano's! Yes.. I said much better. There stuffed is never soggy, almost always satisfying. I don't ever sit in and eat. Had a few bad experiences that will stay with me FORever, waitresses have changed as of late. The inside is so outdated, as if you're eating at a restaurant in Pleasantville. Not really, lol. (I coulda sworn I reviewed this place long ago, I wonder if it got pulled. Because of how something that affected a certain group of people was mentioned.) Best Chicago-style pizza. That's stuffed pizza, kids.

I don't know. Some reviewers swear by this restaurant, but I think that might be for the retro hamish quality of the place, not so much the food or service. I have eaten there many times and would say it is an adequate restaurant. I used to order delivery regularly - always the same thing, small pan pizza with broccoli, mushroom, garlic. Sometimes they would get something wrong on the order, something small, like not well done when I asked for well done, or the pop would be warm. If I complained they never did anything like give a partial credit. If I asked to speak to the manager a woman who could really care less got on the phone. So yeah, they are generally nice if nothing goes wrong. Last night, after a long time not ordering from Martino's, I ordered again, and the pizza came with the ingredients slid over to one side of the pie, and not only not well done, but undercooked. Voilá 2 stars.

LYING THIEVES!!! They did not honor a groupon coupon for $10 off!!! The coupon did not say dine-in only or not take out orders so it was their mistake, not mine! By not honoring my coupon all she did is ensure I will never again patronize this business. When I asked on the phone how many mushrooms were included in an order of stuffed mushrooms, I was told 12. When I got home it was only 6. The eggplant parmesan was so small it was a lunch portion, I had hoped to cut it in half and use it for 2 meals, along with the 12 mushrooms that turned out to be only 6. What a ripoff! STAY AWAY from this unethical lying management. When I told the lady she was wrong for not honoring my coupon from groupon that did not specifically state it was dine-in only she said "It implies it." Then when I tried to leave my order and leave the restaurant she guilt-tripped me into taking the order saying it would be wasted food. Excuse me, how is that my problem when you didn't honor a legally binding coupon I purchased on Groupon? Even if she wouldn't honor the coupon since I in good faith placed the order and showed up to pick it up she then should have given me a ten-dollar discount as for the face value of the coupon.

The worst place I have ever ordered from! I received my order wrong. Extra random charges. I called and spoke with the manager who yelled at me told me to shut up. I will never order from this place again. Th manager repeated to yell and call me a liar. Was not willing to cooperate with me at all the worst experience ever.

Let me set the record straight. Most underrated pizza ever. I've been coming here for years and am surprised to see nothing but five stars. The thin crust and the deep dish are amazing. Also, the pasta, appetizers and everything else here is great. Try the jalapeno poppers they are worth everything. Although I have been the restaurant lately they do provide a pretty solid delivery service.

Let me begin by saying I like Martino's for what it is: a good, old fashioned, neighborhood, Italian place. It's got all the old standbys, I think, and does a pretty good job with most. The pizzas are good, although I think maybe I prefer Lou Malnalti's by a hair. I usually order carryout, although I've eaten in often as well. First the good: Martino's has the absolute best veal marsala that I have ever had. Period. I use the Italian bread that comes with the carryout order, slathered liberally with some good cultured butter, and soak up every precious drop of "gravy" in the dish. (Hint: You gotta do this at home, not at the restaurant, because you can end up looking like a moron, with gravy dripping down your chin.) This dish is my favorite by a wide margin and you must order it! I also like the ribs a lot. They are tasty and tender, although they come with french fries which just don't translate to take home--by the time you get them home and on the table they are mealy and cold. Now for what I don't like: First, not enough veal marsala in the veal marsala. At $14.95, I'd like to see a little more meat. That being said, the dish does come with pasta and your choice of sauce (I can recommend my favorite, angel hair with garlic and oil). Second, they really need to stop putting stuff in their salads that should be thrown out. I mean, I've gotten some truly nasty lettuce on occasion, wilted, ugly, yellow stuff. One time I even got the whole damn core of a head of lettuce! I mean, really, no one eats that stuff. And they should take a little time to cut up the salad stuff better: tonight, I got a piece of green pepper in my salad that was about six inches long by almost an inch wide. Service is good. The ladies who wait on tables are efficient and friendly. Parking can usually be found on Peterson near the place, or on Bernard, which is the side street just to the east of the restaurant.

Good family restaurant, but sometimes not the same quality. I've been there a dozen times with family and unfortunately, when I actually have out of town family(to impress)...they did not perform the same quality. Martinis are always good there, however.

Everyone has their own taste on pizza. I've never enjoyed deep-dish Chicago pizza. Never liked Giordano's, Pete's etc. My fiance and I went to Martino's last night, per a friend's recommendation. Personally, I thought that Martino's pizza was perfect in every way. I don't like my pizza so full of shit that I feel like I'm eating a hot mess out of a dump truck, and I don't like my sauce as salty and rich as some of the stuff I've eaten in Chicago. This pizza had nice, thin crunchy crust, fresh, flavorful, and certainly not overdone toppings. The cheese was delicious and hot. Our server was absolutely wonderful (I wish I knew her name). Our appetizers were great. The stuffed artichoke was tasty, but a little difficult to eat as the leaves were sort of tough. The stuffed mushrooms in Pesto were to die for. The place was immaculately clean, and at 9:30 on a Tuesday night, very pleasantly quiet. We will definitely go here again!!! An absolute new favorite. I thought the portions were perfect, and the price was right. I thought 10 bucks for a small pizza (big enough for 2) was totally decent.

It saddens me to have to write such a poor review for Martino's, a favorite in my family since my Mom was young. But, alas. A tale of woe, heartache, and horrendous customer service... Martino's was a stand-by in my family for larger gatherings (my grandparents loved it) as well as delivery (my picky-dickens little brother liked their cheese pizza). I'll admit, the pizza is nothing special (unless you order the thin-crust Margherita, which is really tops). However, the garlic sticks, pasta primavera, and minestrone soup are really out of this world. (Thick minestrone. Olive oil-garlic-veggies on the primavera.) Martino's did this thing where you got a white coupon with every delivery, and if you collected 20 of them, you got a free medium cheese pizza. A gold star to anyone who can already see where this is going. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Well, my family cashed in on our share of cheese pizzas, and considering how many of these coupons we racked up over the years, we felt appreciated for our loyalty. One night, we called to place an order and had in fact accumulated 20 white coupons. After ordering, my Mom informed the phone-girl that we had 20 coupons for a free cheese pizza. The girl blanched, then asked what color the coupons were. White, Mom told her. Uh oh. Turns out they're not doing white coupons anymore. Now they're doing pink coupons, and instead of one per any delivery, you only get one if your delivery includes a pizza. They don't accept white coupons anymore. We're told we need to start from scratch, collecting 20 pink ones. What. My Mom explains that their evil coupon-change should be irrelevant, since we're obviously loyal enough to have patronized their restaurant at least 20 times, and had been collecting the coupons (which had no expiration date) for over a year. Phone girl gets a manager. What should be a cut-and-dry situation turns into a ridiculous argument, wherein the manager refuses to budge and my mother cancels our order, promising never to give them another dime. None of us have given them another dime. From what I hear, they're under new management or something (this was a few years ago, so maybe it was during the regime-change) and things have really gone downhill. It's so sad that considering how much money we poured into their establishment, they gave up our business and their reputation for the cost of a medium thin cheese. What kind of cockamamie dive do you have to be running to not see that this was a bad business move? The second star is there only because I really, really miss their pasta primavera. Ah, the sacrifices we make...

This is one of the best pizza places on the North side. I enjoy their thin crust pizza. The crust is always crispy and nice and thin. I have been to other pizza places where once you start pilling on the toppings the pizza gets soggy. Not this place, no matter how many toppings you order the crust stays crispy. However I do find that I enjoy the pizza more if I order extra sauce, which they never charge me for. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone that likes thin crust pizza!

Great place. We hadn't been here for a while. She had Italian sausage sandwich, it was so big she had to take it home. Their garlic bread is the best from anyplace, make sure to get a side order of garlic bread.

Voilá 2 stars.

pretty awesome old-school italian place. i was somewhat trepid about this place, what with the 80s suburban decor and lack of customers. the waitress was super nice and attentive, though, and the lasagna stuffed me to the point where i didn't have to eat for another 15 hours. the place got pretty packed by the time i was done, and i think the next-youngest person in there was about twice my age.

Really???

*burp*

Il be eating more martinos more often hellz yea!

the good: they open till midnight.

Martino's.

We order from Martinos when we want a good thin crust pizza delivered quickly. The pizza is good, and the delivery is quick.

This place has hit rock bottom and has kept digging. Once a staple, the daughter has run it into the ground. Go to Calo's or Colletti's. I'd go to domino's before ordering from here again. Food is awful and the staff is worse. Read some of the other reviews and you'll get the picture.

pretty awesome old-school italian place. i was somewhat trepid about this place, what with the 80s suburban decor and lack of customers. the waitress was super nice and attentive, though, and the lasagna stuffed me to the point where i didn't have to eat for another 15 hours. the place got pretty packed by the time i was done, and i think the next-youngest person in there was about twice my age.

I thought 10 bucks for a small pizza (big enough for 2) was totally decent.

the good: they open till midnight.

*burp*

Really???

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
