Great music, great service! The pizza does not make Chicago proud, grossest ever and their Bloody Mary mix sucks!

The hot wings are to die for! They were so so good, after the b/friend and I devoured 20, we had to order 10 more as they were so delicious! The wings are as hot as you want them to be yet do not scorch your insides. They have a secret ingredient to tame that killer sting most hot sauces give, I guess. I recommend them to every hot wings lover - I would say they are the best in town, and I've tried plenty of wings.

It has a beer garden and tons of big screen TVs. What more could you want in a Chicago bar? I don't normally frequent Bucktown to hang out unless I'm shopping on Damen. Too hipster for me. But this bar is a fun place. The menu features beers from a 90s frat party. My friends thought it would be cool to drink their way thru the list and relive their glory days. Every cheesy cheap beer you could think of was chugged. Everyone loved it. We were able to watch multiple football games on the big screen TVs. Typical bar food of nachos and quesadillas. But it's tasty at 2 am. Very chill place.

Just wandered in around 9:30pm after the Map Room and a few other stops, and sat outside, very pleasant patio area. Service slow, they seemed to forget that there was an outside, there were stretches when there were no waiters to be seen anywhere. We weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't too bad, since we were well entertained by the large 20+ very inebriated party group at the tables by the street, there for a special occasion and relatively well-behaved. The food was standard, and good - sliders, pizza, chicken wings, cheese curds, fries with added chili and cheese - I really like that option!

Had the taco pizza and bbq wings. Not bad. Good drink specials. A nice spot to chill and watch the game.

Went there for the first time and was more than impressed! I screwed up when ordering and to fix problem, they gave us one dish for free and took 20% off another. Great management and staff who care most about making sure you have a good time. Great food and beer selection and I especially recommend the quesadillas and fish tacos!

The beer selection was decent. I had the grilled cheese which was awesome got it with the Tator tots. Nice little bar with a very good atmosphere

I will say based on the reviews I was more than reluctant to try this place. However, I'm so glad I put the reviews to the side and ventured in. They have an excellent selection of food. I read they served your standard "pub-like" food. Which for selections I suppose so. They have sandwiches, salads, and pizza. Classic, however the actual execution of the food is what sets them apart from just your standard pub food. Plus I have to mention the specials. Every day is something amazing, and the manager, Lupe, who gave us amazing service, told me soon they would be getting a happy hour as well. Even better! You definitely need to check this place out. Very underrated bar.

Trivia Night on Wednesdays are a lot of fun. There are $5 burger and salads specials with $3 Goose Island beer. Wednesdays are busy but you can still manage to get a table even a couple of minutes before 8PM. Trivia questions are pretty random, but I like how the rounds aren't too long.

We came here to have a few beers and find a table to play cards after dinner out. It was very easy to find a table big enough to relax at and not feel cramped. The atmosphere was very laid back and had every sports game you could have wanted to watch that evening on TV. We all enjoyed the 2.50 retro beer can special. My only complaint was our waitress was a bit hard to find if we needed anything and even brought a beer we didn't order (not necessarily a bad thing). If we wouldn't have been so full from dinner, the food smelled like really good greasy bar food, and we will be back to try it!

I WANT TO LIKE THIS PLACE, it is very close to home, has an awesome patio, and decent specials.... that is why i keep giving it a chance, yet every time i go there i swear it will be my last time... the food is so-so, but the service is TERRIBLE, every waitress i have had there is awful, takes for ever to get drinks, take order, get check, and they are not friendly. the Bar tenders at night are good, the only time i will ever step foot in that place again is if it is at night, and i sitting at the bar

There were rats all over the back patio last time I went there. There were four rats at one point. All the customers noticed and moved seats but none of the staff or management acknowledged it. I really didn't feel like eating food from here since the rats were so close to the kitchen. Absolutely disgusting. I have been to plenty of outdoor patios, especially in this neighborhood, and have never experienced something this repulsive.

    (1)
  • John C.

The food is really good, from the burgers to the wings. Always a great beer selection and cold drafts. The outdoor patio/beer garden is the best place to watch a hawks game or grab some day beers.

My fiancée and I have been going to our favorite local pub Jack and Gingers for quite some time now. The staff is amazing and we consider them our friends not just a person serving us at a bar/restaurant. If you're looking for a place to watch sports with a group of friends or even looking to get out of the house solo you will for sure have a great time sipping on some drinks while eating some great pub food. I would also note their Pizza is on point if you would like a thin crust pizza (hand tossed) with crispy edges.

  • Nate B.

I've come here many times over the years, many times. They have good specials and are a great spot for the locals. Dart boards outside are a plus. Great outdoor seating, the run down seating in the back inside has been redone. Only one bad experience a month back... Other than that, I've been happy every time I've come.

Fun trivia on Wednesday nights! They also have $4 burgers and drink specials. Their burgers are quite good, I don't know how much of a deal a $4 burger is without fries, but it tasted good, so I am happy. We ordered the hummus to start and it was crunchy. This was my first experience with crunchy hummus. I don't think I am a fan. Our server was a little, um, cooky, let's say, but she was funny. We had a great time and I hope to come back again.

Nice place to go if you want to sit outside. Patio is dog friendly. Had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and was happy with the quality. Some drinks seems a bit pricey, but it's Bucktown after all. I live within close walking distance so I'll be back. Not sure if I'd go out of my way to go here if I wasn't in the area though.

Food: Pretty decent bar food, their buffalo chicken pizza is pretty stand out (and half price on Thursdays) Drinks: Average, highlight is the $5 Jack and Gingers all day every day. Service: Less than ideal, I've been there when it's been ok and when it's been less than ok (slow wait staff, took awhile to get food). Trivia on Wednesdays is great! Good showing, challenging questions without being impossible. Host is kind of rude, though. Once she was 45 minutes late and none too apologetic.

Solid spot to go for cheap drinks, sports, beer pong in the summer, and conversation with friends. 4 of us came on a Friday evening and even when we told our waitress we were just drinking, we still received great service. You won't find the most unique craft beers here--most of the drafts are domestic and the highlights are Bell's, Lagunitas and Goose Island--but you will find great deals with prices being almost half of what you'd pay in River North for the same beer. I had a few dirty Shirleys and a gin and tonic, both of which were plenty strong. The guys had beers, jack and gingers, and long islands. Plenty of huge TVs to catch whatever games are on. First highlight of the night: After the Bulls and Blackhawks games ended (both with wins!) they put on FRIENDS. Even though we couldn't hear it and there were no captions, Friends always makes me happy. Second highlight: Apparently a Jameson rep was there... So all tables were offered a free Jameson shot. Our waitress was cool enough to take one with us. I'll come back again in the summer to enjoy the patio for sure!

1.They have waaaaaay awesome drink specials! 2. I ordered the veggie/vegan burger...& it was terrible. It was more of a veggie mash, not good. The waitress however was super sweet, and my side salad was so fresh! As a first timer it wasn't bad, I would just never order the vegan burger ever again. The mashed potato consistency of vegetables was not for me.

AC and lackluster food late night, esp on a Sunday when everything is closed in Bucktown. Food is meh bar food.

  • Bao L.

Went here with 3 friends on a Friday night. 2 of them were of the ginger-haired variety, so I thought they picked this place solely for the name (unfortunately, my other friend wasn't named Jack). However, I realized they picked Jack & Ginger due to the simple fact that it's a great bar (though I still believe the name had something to do with it)! We came here for drinks after dinner. The service was amazing! It's like our waitress had a 6th sense and knew the exact moment to come back to refill our drinks - she definitely kept the drinks flowing and the good times rolling. The selection of beers won't blow you away, but they had Lagunitas and Bell's on tap, so I was more than happy. Drinks were also cheap. They have different food and drink specials almost every night - though I can't remember what exactly (probably cause they have so many!). It gets crowded during Bulls or Blackhawks games, but the crowds tend to disperse after the games are over. Also, when we were there they played Friends (aka the best TV show ever) on some of the TV's - how awesome is that?! I definitely want to come back to check out their outdoor patio on a nice day!

After a beer at The Map Room, we went across the street to Jack & Ginger's for some food and more drinks. Jack & Ginger's is a casual dive bar. The menu is typical bar food - wings, fries, burgers, etc. We ordered "boneless" buffalo wings and onion rings. The boneless wings were just breaded chicken tenders, but both these and the onion rings were good. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to drink, or IF I wanted to drink, so I just asked for water. They were running a special on "vintage" can beers like Rolling Rock, Old Style, and PBR for $2 or $3, so my husband had a Rolling Rock. Meanwhile, I went to the ladies room and there it was: "$5 ROOT BEER FLOATS - root beer liqueur and Pinnacle Whipped Vodka." These were fan-frickin-tastic. When the waitress asked if I wanted another, I said "YES" without any hesitation. It's a simple drink, but there aren't any bullsh*t mixers involved and it doesn't taste like quinine as a result. It tasted just like a root beer float. The only thing that would've made this better is a scoop of ice cream! But why interrupt the booze buzz I've got going? Although if it weren't for this drink, I wouldn't have liked this bar as much. I like Jack & Ginger's for the inexpensive drinks, and the food is just okay. It's not really a destination, so let it be your pre-game or nightcap spot.

I like this place because they allow dogs on their patio! Pretty standard sports bar, otherwise.

Great little neighborhood spot. It's not a place to pick up hot strangers and it's not a place to have the best meal of your life, but if you want a cozy little spot for a few weeknight beers, some sports with your 'buds or some bar food with your honey, it's perfect. The food is pretty standard pub fare - wings, burgers, pizza, but they do a great job with it and I've never been disappointed in anything I've gotten. They have a large patio that is dog friendly, so if you have a pup this is a good place to take them out for a drink! They have provided a water bowl for my pup without hesitation each time we've brought the little guy there, so that's a plus. As far as the drinks, they have a very lengthy craft beer menu, and also a large selection of canned beers. They also have great specials each and every night of the week (even on the weekend nights), so you can usually get a good deal here if you're drinking on the cheap. It does get a bit busy at times, but it's a pretty large place so I've never had trouble getting a table. Cheers!

Taco Tuesday and $5 Jack and Ginger's? Perfect neighborhood spot. My go-to when I want a quick beer and good food close to home. Also great for games and weekends- def recommend! Heather is always great server.

Great place to go to Sunday-Thursday. They have a well organized trivia on Wednesday, I like the staff and the food is good. It's a cool place. I won't go there on Fridays and Saturdays anymore. The music is too loud. Yes, it's packed. However, you can't hear the people you are with. The last weekend I went there, I was with friends from out of town and they even said the music was too loud.

I love bars like this. They have an awesome diverse menu with great daily specials. We went on a Saturday and had about 30 sliders that were only $1 each. There were tons of TVs and didn't mind our very loud and obnouxious group of 7.

  • Irene H.

The outdoor patio with cute lights and ample seating is what drew my attention. I looked up the menu prior to going there, and as expected, it's your basic bar food, nothing special. We went on a Wednesday night, it was too cold for the patio but plenty of seating inside, though it began to fill up quickly because it was Trivia Night! Great daily drink specials - Wednesdays were $3 J shots (no thank you) and $3 Green Line and 312 (yes please!). I like that they offer Saturday specials too, lots of bars only do specials during the week. Got the chipotle chicken quesadilla, it was decent and a huge portion. My friend got the Vegan burger and loved it. The server was nice and I liked the casual atmosphere. Wish the menu had more exciting options, but overall, a good experience. I would return with a group to grab some beers and play Trivia.

Pizza: pretty good! Patio: dog-friendly and fun! Beer: beer! The problem is the vibe...probably the best way for me to describe the crowd on a Thursday night is that all of those people probably had a really great time in high school. Our waitress was fun and very pretty but left us basically abandoned after the arrival of a few very pretty men. The whole feeling was: weird.

Came here with a few coworkers last night and man was trivia hard. I wouldnt consider myself the smartest person in the world but man the questions from trivia were too historic for me. I did order the pulled pork burger with mac which was very good and all my friends enjoyed their fries. Fries are skinny, perfectly seasoned, nice paired with a beverage of your choice. I enjoyed my time with my coworkers but I would not return.

I'll break this one into 3 parts: 1) Food and drink, 2) Atmosphere, 3) Service. I dropped in on Friday June 12th, 2015 for brunch. It was about 12:45pm and was looking for something to eat before going out for a day in downtown Chicago. I tried their special which was the fish and chips for $6. It was good! 3 pieces of battered and fried fish, piping hot and wonderfully tasty and a nice portion of French fries to go along with it all. I had a Green Line beer as well. With regards to the atmosphere I thought I was at church being that it was pretty quiet for a bar. I know it is 1pm but as a patron, I shouldn't be hearing the beer deliver guys and all the other "back room" business end of a bar conversation. it is a bar. How about some music? Or actually turn up the volume on the TV set? Again, it is a bar so give me the bar experience. The young lady working there had the energy of a soggy piece of toast, lol. Not bad energy, just a very apathetic "yes" , "no" that easy gets interpreted as "I don't want to be here right now". You get the impression that each of her tattoos each weighs 5 pounds, lmao. WAKE UP! She should go work at hipster coffee shop instead. Maybe it was just the timing but at least the fish and chips was good.

Across the street from Map Room, one of my favorite bars, Jack & Ginger's impressed me quite a bit considering I was looking forward to visiting the other. It was a friend's birthday and they decided to come here since Map Room seemed to be overwhelmingly crowded. This place was crowded, too, but maybe not so much. A lot of people were dressed fancy for the holidays. No, not dressy fancy, like suits & dresses; I mean fancy like a necklace made of glass Christmas ornaments with bright colored tights & a lot of santa hats. It was one of those bar crawls that everyone really gets into. The fact that they chose this bar as one of their stops was a good sign. Good beer selection, with several craft beers on the menu. A foursquare check-in even got us a first draft beer for fifty cents! Bartender was cool, funny & friendly. He almost didn't even charge me for that first draft, but I insisted, along with a generous tip. Only downfall was the tiny women's bathroom. While waiting in line for quite sometime, you think it is a single washroom, and it technically is, but has a stall inside so one girl can use the can while another uses the mirror and sink. Our waitress checked up on us often. I believe she brought us a round of shots for free (my friend is good at getting us stuff for free so I'm not sure if it was because of her or if our waitress was just super awesome & generous). Music selection made me laugh. Seemed normal until I heard some foul language and the word "d*ck" in every sentence of one particular song. No song filtering here, so beware parents with children. Good dance music, though (the shots also contributed greatly). Oh, and try the flatbread; it was dayumn good!

Jack & Ginger's is just your normal neighborhood hang out. Great place to watch a game, awesome specials every day of the week, and a sweet patio to hang out during the warmer months. Take it as it is. It just a familiar place to drink a beer, eat some bar food, and watch a game.

  • Rose A.

My family (including 2 year old & 5 year old) sat in the beer garden this Sunday afternoon. No kid judgement was made. Very chill. Serve your own water and a ton of dogs. They have a kids menu with the usual stuff, but no crayons. Thank God my daughter isn't reviewing. Portions are large and cheap. They have daily specials for drinks and food that are always good. When you want a casual hang out, worth the visit.

Nothing special. Came in for dinner in a Thursday night. It was slow. The bartender was friendly. The music was depressing alt-rock. I had the grilled cheese with bacon. It wasn't bad. Overall it's an "enh".

  • K L.

About the only thing Jack & Ginger's has going for it is the great (dog-friendly) outdoor space. The food is not very good (it's not even decent bar food) and the service has been awful every time that I've been there. If I didn't live so close and if they didn't allow dogs on their patio, I would probably not go there. I wish a place with better food and service would take over and keep the outdoor space.

Nice local bar. Wed trivia night is true and hard to find a seat in the house if you don't come early. If you think that you and your friends would just come in and get your personal news of the day, forget it, these people are serious about the trivia. Great if you came here for that, but otherwise go elsewhere. Uhh - best veggie burger? don't believe what the menu says.

Good place to grab a drink and watch a game. Decent beer selection and above average bar food. Lots of TVs and usually a good crowd on game day. Patio is also nice and dog friendly!

I wanted to like Jack & Gingers! We sat outside for lunch on a Sunday and were happy to find out the patio is dog friendly. But we waited a solid 15 minutes for menus after requesting them, another 15 once we were ready to order then another 30 minutes for our meals to arrive (a salad and an egg sandwich - decent). On the plus side, the outdoor patio had a lot of potential for the warmer months and during a generally busy brunch time in Chicago, the place was fairly empty and we were sat immediately.

Went here with a friend due to their $4 Wednesday burgers and salad and I wasn't impressed. Had the vege burger and it needed flavor (salt) and it fell apart on my hands which forced me to eat it with a fork instead. Also had a chicken salad with vinaigrette dressing but it tasted like vinegar and oil. Luckily there was trivia which made it somewhat fun.

I probably wouldn't have written a review but the service was pretty bad. so i didn't think there was a server in the beer garden but 30-40 minutes in one magically appeared, slapped down a menu, and seemed annoyed that my friend had already gone to get drinks. if you greet your tables soon after their arrival, then they'll know they can order from you. if you're busy talking to your friends and don't go over, they will not. your choice so you shouldn't give attitude. also, this place had several mice running around the beer garden. one was in the bushes above my friend's head. others scurried from tables back to their hiding spot. gross. we asked the server if she was aware and she kind of dismissed it and said 'city life' which was a pretty flippant reply. i live in the city and have had rats in my apartment but i don't sell people food and drinks out of my place either. at least pretend the bar is concerned?? like because it might be some health code violation? or be unsanitary? two people left after the mice ran under their table so at the very least the mice bother their customers. my advice: feigning concern is an important skill to have as a server and elsewhere in the work world.

Whiskey and ginger ale is quite possibly the best drink combination EVER. (If you have yet to try it, get on that.) So when I found out the old Cleo's spot was now named after my favorite drink, I became super giddy. My co-worker swears by the trivia here (8pm on Wednesdays), so my friend and I finally checked it out a couple weeks ago. I do agree with my co-worker -- the trivia is pretty awesome. It's quick (4 rounds and usually done in 1.5 hrs) and, in addition to the normal 10 trivia questions, also has a picture round and a matching round. Nice! The specials on Wed are also pretty cool -- $4 burgers and $4 salads. If you add fries and cheese, it actually comes out to $6, but still a good deal. You can get bleu cheese, so that's always a win. The fact that it comes with onion straws is awesome! Not many places with burger specials would add this 'extra' on it. Delicious! And, if you've had a hard week, Wed specials also include $3 'J' shots - Jack, Jose, Jameson. How could you possibly beat that mid-week?

    (4)
  • Bridget W.

Went for the Wed night trivia, but watched the bartender use the bathroom and fail to wash his hands! After speaking to the manager Katie, who claimed to be "part owner," the bartender insulted me for calling out the most basic violation of food service. They comped the check, but I doubt I will ever return.

Okay, I'll admit it. I spend way too much of my time at this bar. Why? Because its great. Their specials are easily the best in Bucktown. My favorite goes to Tuesday: half off appetizers and $1.50 drafts. Wednesdays have $4 burgers, wraps, and salads plus half off Goose Island beers. And Saturday has $4 bloodies/mimosas and $1 burger and pulled pork sliders. They don't have the best bar food in the world, but its definitely better than average. Get the fish tacos! Get it as an entree. Just do it, they're so good! And their buffalo chicken wrap is my go to for Wednesdays. They always have loads of sriracha and tabasco sauce on hand too. Their sliders are just alright (sometimes the buns get a little stale) but when they're that cheap, its hard to pass up. The outdoor seating is to die for. Bags and dart boards set up. Totally kid and dog friendly. There are always groups there drinking, talking, and having a good time. The inside is coated in Christmas lights and has plenty of room and tons of TVs. The wait staff is great - the doorman always stops and talks to me when I'm walking by the bar (I told you that I go there too often). Overall, its a nice little sports bar. It does tend to get a little douche-y on game days, which isn't totally my scene. I'd recommend going for dinner and a few happy hour beers or for trivia night on Wednesdays.

3.50 for a Stroh's is rude and laughable. Sure its a bar and they aren't here to go broke but really? Laughable bro laughable. You can get a sixer for 3.50 at the corner carryout, so to charge that is awful. Other than that the place is fine and a decent spot. They also have other actual good beers but my wallet is light after dropping a new trany in my Ford Fiesta. Oh yea, one more thing, stay away from my girl... Enjoy Suckas'

Jack & Ginger's is a solid neighborhood bar. Here's why: Getting a table is usually a piece of cake, even out on the patio on a beautiful day. Every seat in the bar has a view of a TV, which is important for game days. The food is pretty good, and most people will find something they like on the beer list. The prices are fair & the staff is friendly. Solid.

My update unfortunately has the star quickly plummet from a 5 to a 3. This bar has been my neighborhood place to go since Cleo's, I come here 2 to 4 days a week. Its my after dinner unwind with a beer place. I have brought heeps of friends and then they become customers, the door guy doesn't card us. Yet the staff never greet us anymore, the same bartender whom we see each time never ever has greeted us, nor offered us a shot. We simply started to not feel special. So I suggested we venture out for a new "where everyone knows your name" type of bar. One day we landed at Burger Rockit at wrigellyville and guess what?! First time there everyone said hello, and at the end the waiter said thank you (and he meant it) and gave us a $10 gift certificate. We sure as hell came back. I'm really sad that I will no longer go to J&G, or I wont call it my bar anymore. Oh wait, and what the hell is going on with the Hummus!!! this was my favorite dish! Someone has to tell the Mexican guy that hot sauce is NOT an ingredient in Hummus!!!!

Went last night for beers and pizza with my good friend who just moved down to Logan's Square, she said this was her favorite place, so I decided I would give it a shot with her. Not crowded for a Friday night and we got a nice booth in the corner. Waitress came pretty quickly and we ordered beer (Miller Lite for her, Sam Adams for me) and the BBQ chicken pizza with no onions (onions gross me out to no end). Pizza arrived after 30-40 minutes (kind of a long wait, but it seemed like it had just come out of the oven and there were ONIONS EVERYWHERE! I told the guy who brought it that I wanted a new pizza with no onions and he said he was going to have to charge us for the pizza. SCREW THAT! I told him that wasn't fair because we had asked for no onions and then he changed his tune. New pizza came out in ten minutes, waitress came by and apologized. This pizza was better, no visible onions, but I really think they just tried their best to scrap the onions off because I, unfortunately, found a couple on my slice. Gross. Pizza was incredibly average, flavorless really. Only two pieces of pineapple on the whole thing. The only saving grace was the crust, which was really good. Overall, the whole thing was just okay. I would not get the pizza again, but it seems like an okay general bar scene.

I've only been here to drink. The outdoor patio here is fantastic - it's huge, has a great casual atmosphere, and they have bags and darts. Prices are cheap, and they have daily specials. I'd probably have to drink 4 or 5 beers before I ate here, but I love this place.

The photo says it all...this was exactly how it came. Award winning veggie burger? I'm scratching my head on this one. Regular burger was par at best. It came without condiments except for the one soggy piece of lettuce and a shriveled pickle (note photo). George's is ten times better. In fact, Burger King is better. And it costs less. Sorry jack & ginger's but I was disappointed. Nice people though!

Stellar food and drink specials daily. Food is better than your average bar. Sliders and pizza is pretty good, best when on special! Nice patio area with umbrellas and two flat screen televisions. Hit or miss service depending on the shift.

Food is just "ok" bar food. Service is miserable. Expect to be treated like you're ruining their day for showing up. Decently priced drinks - just don't expect to get them within 15 mins of arriving.

I was making the rounds for the kickoff of Craft Beer Week and since this was right by the Map Room, I figured why not stop in. I got here around 8:30ish and there was a decent crowd but I wouldn't really call it buzzing on a thursday night. My friend and I were able to walk in and get our beers pretty easy. They hadn't gotten their ommegang yet, so they hooked us up with some goose for the ommegang price which was more than fine by us. We didn't stay too long, but it was nice to be able to catch the sox game on TV and their set up is very good for watching sports in general. I wouldn't call it a straight up sports bar, but J&G's definitely comes off as a place worth catching a game at.

I was so disappointed when I got to what I thought was Cleo's and instead found Jack & Ginger's. But, it was raining, and we were meeting friends there, so we headed in to check it out. I was happy to see not much in terms of decor had changed. The bar/tables were all in the same place, the cheerful red lights were still strung around the visible ceiling pipes, and even some of the old-looking signs on the walls were the same. This just might be OK, I thought. That's when the similarities ended. The biggest disappointment of the night was the lack of the food buffet from 11pm-1am. It was a great little perk of hitting up Cleo's on a Saturday night. It seems Jack & Ginger's has done away with this tradition. Another disappointment was the service. Maybe it was only because the bar hasn't been open that long, and the wait staff was still working out the kinks, but we had pretty bad service from our waitress. For example: There were 5 of us at a table. For one round, only 3 of us ordered drinks - a beer, a harc cider, and a vodka tonic. She took our order, left, then about 10 minutes later came back and re-asked which beer was ordered. While we ordered our drinks, we also put in a food order, as we came expecting the Cleo's buffet and were hungry. The order was simple - in total we ordered 4 sliders, which was Saturday night's food special. Still waiting on those burgers. After about 30 minutes, it became clear our waitress had never even put in our order. When it came time to pay the bill, and we asked for our check, the waitress hadn't been keeping our drinks on a tab (which explains why she never realized her error in not putting in our food order), and came back to try to figure out what each person had ordered throughout the night. We told her how to split the bill - me and my husband on one tab, everyone else separate - and she put me and my husband on one tab, one person's separate, and two other people together on the same tab. Finally, when one person in our party gave his credit card to be run, he didn't get it back for over 20 minutes. He stopped our waitress to ask where his card was, and she just looked at him with a confused look on her face. I really liked Cleo's, and I'm really sad to see it go. Especially since Jack & Ginger's is its replacement.

This place is awesome. It has a great patio and even the seats inside are good. There are food and drink specials almost, if not, every day. Decent beer list. I have had the jalepeno pretzels, the pork and burger sliders, the fish and chips, tater tots, and probably a lot more. Service is great. If Frankie is working he will great you with a smile. I like coming here when I do not want to venture far from home and I still want to sit outside. Remember this place is VERY kid friendly, and dog friendly too. Bike parking out on street, but I usually walk here.

Great place for the neighborhood. Good food, drinks and atmosphere, not a lot that is missing at this place. I think I heard Creed on the jute box, but I can't blame the bar for that. Daily (I think) food and drink specials. Good alternative (or preference) to Map Room.

Love Jack & Gingers! I used to live across the street and it was definitely my local watering hole. Decent food and beer selection, although they have great specials every day of the week (my favorite is Sunday for $10 domestic draft pitchers and $6 quesadillas and nachos) and not to mention the awesome patio open in the summer.

The food is below average but the service more than makes up for it. The place has very reasonable prices and a pretty decent beer selection.

This is a solid 3 star establishment. Personally I am not comfortable posting relatively anonymous negative comments about a place without at least pointing out the positives. Pros: -Great daily specials..... take advantage of them if you can -Reasonable beer selection -Sweet outdoor patio for the summer months (this alone saved a one or two star review) -Fair prices -Large enough to accommodate groups without waiting for a table Cons: -Really bad service (this is what took this place from a potential 3.5-4 star restaurant down to a 2-2.5 star). I have been here at least 4-5 times and almost always noticed that the waitstaff was way under staffed. I have told friends that Jack and Ginger's is a good sports bar option..... if they can put up with the bad service. Also as an FYI, don't buy a beer at the bar and go sit outside, you will get a little unnecessary sass from the waitress whose area that is. There are no obvious signs that alert you that there is waitress service in those areas. Overall Jack and Ginger's is an OK sports bar. I would suggest going here on a random Tuesday night for a Blackhawks or Bulls game or during a nice summer night, but otherwise I would go somewhere else if you can stomach the inevitable wait or crowds at the better Chicago sports bars. I would like to reiterate that I am not hating on Jack and Ginger's, it's just that I think there is room for improvement (which I certainly welcome and would be willing to re-review this place in the future).

Lots of TV screens at the bar, so if you'd like to actually converse, go outside to the patio, which is bigger than the inside part anyways. The drinks are of medium strength, but the food is very nice. I've had a Spinach Goat Cheese pizza and it was very tasty (granted there was only about four little drops of the goat cheese). I've been here a couple of time and am yet to try out sitting outside, maybe next time. Oh by the way, if you're a girl, the bathroom stall does not latch, so take a friend with you to keep watch or get ready for an open door, while your panties are at your ankles.

HAWKEYE BAR! Yea baby! Besides being a most awesome Hawkeye bar. The food here is terrif! Came here a week ago after moving my eldest from wrigley to buck. Just a short walk to utter bliss. Had the Buffalo chicken nachos and most importantly two Matilda's. Excellent atmosphere, and good service.

The trivia was great. The food was decent. The waitress was awful. The trivia host was awesome. He was hilarious. The game had 4 rounds and they all went pretty quickly, which I appreciate. They post all of the questions on TVs throughout the bar, in case you miss it over the drunken chatter. He still repeated the questions multiple times, which was nice. The burgers are good for bar food and the Wednesday night specials are great. We had the absolute worst waitress of all time. That's saying a lot, seeing as how I've been around the block a few times. In summary, she: -never smiled or greeted us. -told us we didn't have room for another friend, when we totally did. -refused to take a food order from my friend when we first arrived because she was only taking drink orders at the time. -messed up our drink orders multiple times. How hard is it to remember (or write down) 3 Goose Island IPAs and 2 shots of Jack? -walked passed our table (while all of our drinks were empty) to do shots with her friends and didn't bother asking if we needed anything. *got really snippy when we asked about splitting the tab. Then nagged us about not asking sooner, even though she would have refused anyway.

The place is very nice with outdoor seating, but the service was the worst I've had in years. The three people on staff on Sunday didn't care one bit about anything. The guy was the best worker. Our server didn't say hi, or say sorry for the long wait. We went from going to stay and order three drinks each to leaving after one beer. Those girls need some customer service classes.

I come in here for trivia mostly every Wednesday. I enjoy it quite a bit. We have won a few times. The food is decent, the atmosphere is fun, not too quiet not too loud. Trivia is always a blast. Great deals on drinks when you go during the week, I cannot comment on regular prices but there always seems to be a good special on something. Especially trivia (half price Goose Island Beers, unless you order Matilda which is full price, boo!). The one thing that sets them apart from most bars I've been to around here is the service. EVERY waitress has been extremely quick, friendly, and personable.

Great neighborhood bar with a spacious patio. I stopped by for a bite and enjoyed some superb specials like half off Goose Island beers and $4 salads. The house was packed for pub trivia, which I'd definitely come back to play as the questions seemed reasonable and diverse. Oh my bartender was quite nice and cute, and I hope she will be there next Wed.

First and foremost I want to say that I enjoy the wings and I love the patio. With that said the service that I received was horrible I never caught the girls name, but from the second I walked in she really could care less about our table. I work at a bar In Chicago and I understand the stress of the industry, but it's incredible how rude she was. I can't say that I'll be returning and I hate to say that because of the service but it was that bad.

So we were headed to try a Tuesday special at 6 Degrees. We parked and saw Jack and Ginger's and impulsively decided to go there instead. I like the vibe. Bonus points for 30 Rock on some of the TV's as an alternate to sports. We ordered half price appetizers and $1.50 domestics. The wings were just ok. The hummus was not very good. Very bland with a grainy texture. We then split a pizza with grilled veggies. Bland again. Maybe they were out of salt? I kept expecting the cooks to come out and grab some table salt off the dining room tables. Waitress was super nice though. I might come back here. Maybe not, but you know, maybe...

Guys. I used to work at a dumpy bar. So when I say that I KNOW me some dumpy bar food, I am not fucking around. And the bar food at Jack & Ginger's is pretty dumpy. Like, really dumpy. The wings were...not good. Like if McDonald's chicken nuggets were slapped on a bone or something. The burger was....about two shades of overcooked with no seasoning whatsoever. We asked for "medium" we got "well done". On the plus side, our server was so so nice, and really attentive, which is why this place is getting more than one star. I realize that I'm totally phoning it in on this review, but I don't want to sit here and be all "Wah wah wah I had a shitty time" because I didn't have a shitty time. I just had sub-par food. The bar itself was totally fine, service was great, but the food stunk. I'm sure it doesn't always stink, but on Labor Day night, it stunk. Sorry Jack & Ginger's. Maybe next time?

To be fair, I only drop in at J&G's for their Wednesday trivia night, so this review is made solely with respect to days that begin with W. Having said that, I have found the staff to be incredibly on top of their game. This has been mentioned in other reviews as well, and it's damn true. The food is such that it does need to be equated with a mediocre comic. The more you drink, the more you enjoy it. On the topic of drinking, I would advise keeping it simple. They do simple well. Do not venture into the realm of Stella Artrois, which is not only in a can (ew, I say) but $6 a pop. The crowd are all roughly 20somethings and some 30somethings attempting to look like 20somethings by growing uneven beards, but on the whole, it's an enjoyable experience.

One of my all time favorite bars in the city. The servers and bartenders are great and wave the instant I walk in the door. I can take my dog to the patio with me in the summer. Fantastic bar with great specials!!

I've never ventured here when it was Cleos so I didn't have any expectations of what it used to be like and hopes that it would be similar. My group went here first to get food since the Map room serves none. Once we got seated there were a lot of things that made me want to like this place such as; outdoor seating, a Foosball table, great specials, trivia that night (Wednesday), and a generally jovial look on every ones face. Again with all of those things I REALLY wanted to like this place but just couldn't. Maybe its because the place is apparently still new but our service wasn't that great we got waters as soon as we sat down but after that we had to flag our waitress down for everything from drinks all the way to paying our bill. The drinks were cold and fairly prized but the food wasn't as good. We all ordered burgers and appetizers and almost everyone had something wrong with their burger or they were overcooked and somewhat charred. The appetizers were sub par from what we were expecting based on how they were described in the menu and they were overall kind of a let down. This place has all the things to make me want to come back but it seems like they still have some kinks to work out with the food and the staff - I'll probably come in a few months and hopefully every things come together to help this bar be as great as it should be but for now I will probably stick with the map room and just eat some food beforehand.

This is my favorite neighborhood bar in Bucktown! First they have tons of specials everyday including $5 pizzas, $4 Jack and Cokes, and $5 nachos...just to name a few. The servers are always familiar faces and they're all sweet and get every order right! Beyond the great service and specials they have a ton of TVs including in their outdoor patio. Finally they have a foosball table and darts. This place can't get any better!

Brunch here is lovely. They have just the right combo of naughty breakfast items like a veggie egg wrap and some sort of egg sandwich with some serious kick that will wake up your taste buds for sure. The staff is usually awesome. I'm not going to lie though, I have had a few interactions with staff that was less than stellar. My last visit my friend and I got there for brunch and upon opening the door (it wasn't locked) and walking in to a table the bartender belted out to us "we aren't open yet! You'll have to come back later!" We didn't realize that they didn't open until 11 and we were there at 1045. Wow, really? There was a nicer or quieter way of saying that. Never the less, we went back to our car, chatted for 15 minutes and then walked back in and our server was fantastic. She kept the mimosas coming and our waters full. So I guess there's always someone around who woke up on the wrong side of the bed but hopefully she got it under control before someone sat at the bar. Either way don't let a few cranky-pants folks ruin a great little bar with some pretty decent food at good prices.

cool atmosphere.....really polite workers......tastey food.....good drink specials. what more do you want from a bar? dined here with some friends a few weekends ago and really enjoyed the food and ambience. the outdoor seating is very nice and pet friendly! we ordered different types of bar food and everything was quite solid. pizzas stood out and would def be ordered again. give this place a try if you are in the area.

Where to start with Jack & Gingers's bar (probably back outside for me). I headed in for a beer during Chicago Craft Beer week only to find they had nothing special on tap, I mean nothing, so much of nothing I just asked politely for my bottle cap and walked out feeling mostly satisfied that I hadnt been forced into drinking a 312 (sorry Goose). As Keith A. mentioned, No ommegang!, what, why, how? Very disappointed with that. The crowd was lively as expected for Bulls game 5 against the Heat, but that didn't excuse the beer fiasco. Overall, the patrons seemed very happy (that was while we were still up 11 points) so hard to judge really. If you want to watch the game with fiery Chicagoans, head to J&G's. If youre into beer, skip this place and head across the street to Map Room.

3.5 stars! i was skeptical when i came here for the first time last year. it's really just your run-of-the-mill bar, nothing fancy, kinda cheesy decor. i didn't think the food would be that great. but after coming here a bunch of times (they have great specials) it's really a pretty decent place to eat/drink! the staff is nice and friendly. they have a pretty big outdoor patio, with darts, bags, and dogs are allowed. it just feels like "family" when everyone is out on the patio - i dont know what it is. it's a great place to watch games since there are 2 TVs outside. wednesday is $4 burgers and salads, which is great deal. they're not one of those places that skimp on the days there are specials either. thursdays is $5 homemade pizza which are pretty decent. sat&sun are $4 mimosas and bloody marys! trivia night (wed) seem okay. their trivia lady likes to talk a lot and is pretty strict. it's just trivia, relax!

I've been here 3 times now and have been pleased every time. Great for beers, great for food, great for kids. Just great! My new favorite patio restaurant in the city. First time was with a couple of friends for burgers and beers. Green Line on tap and great burgers. Fries must be made in house because they're not those generic frozen kind, you can tell. We sat inside (this was before the weather got really warm) and it was lively and fun. Lots of kitschy stuff on the walls, rock music playing. Service was very friendly and super fast. Second time I sat outside with a coworker. We were just there for drinks on a Thursday night and pleasantly surprised to find that there was plenty of room on the patio at 7. The patio is all brick, plenty of table space, hanging lights and a ton of games (foozball, darts, beer pong). It also has a TV for those who like to watch the game but it's not too big of a distraction because there's only one. We didn't feel at all hassled or pressured to order food even though we were later taking up valuable real estate and the drinks came cold and fast. Hours later, we finally had a pepperoni pizza and it was great- not too bready, good sauce, the right amount of toppings. The most recent time was with my family (wife and 2 kids). Again, we had our choice on where we wanted to sit on the patio. The server was very accommodating and friendly with our kids (a huge plus for us) and their menu for the kids was extensive (included a veggie plate even). We had the fish and chips ($5 on Fridays- a total steal, in fact, they have some deal drink and food-wise every night, they all look good) and the beer batter was crisp and the fish was tender and flaky, just right. I only give 5 stars to places where the food blows my mind but for what it is (a cozy neighborhood place with a great patio- darts anyone?), it's perfect. My only hope is that it doesn't catch on so fast that we won't be able to sit outside as easily in the future. It's my new favorite local place. With a patio like that, I bet I won't be the only one.

Another place that gets my repeat business solely for proximity's sake, Jack & Gingers is just alright. The food isn't great. The service is pretty slow. But the outdoor patio is the perfect place to spend a nice summer night. You can bring your dog, play bags or darts, or watch the game on the outdoor TVs. They also have decent specials, like $4 burgers and half-price Goose Island beers on Wednesdays. Just get there early or you won't be able to get a table, and it's not worth sitting inside.

I hosted an engagement party here in January. Everyone I worked with was great. They were quick to answer any questions I had and were very accommodating with the decorations we wanted to use and bringing a cake with us. I would definitely host another party at Jack & Ginger's! They also have great food specials during the week!

Jack and Ginger's is great! The staff is very friendly, and it has a great ambiance inside. The food is not spectacular, but it's still good and fairly cheap. Their daily specials are worth it. The best part about this place, though, is that they turned another property into a huge, fantastic patio. It's great for bringing groups of friends on a Saturday night or for camping out with your dog for a bloody Mary on Sunday morning. No other place nearby has such a large, awesome open patio like that. It's a great neighborhood bar!

My girlfriend and I had frequented Cleo's a number of times, really only because of it's proximity to her house, not because they offered anything special. We had actually decided to never go there again because there are much nicer bars in the same neighborhood that we would rather give our money to. We decided to check out Jack and Ginger's because the patio space looked really nice and we were curious about the new menu. We sat a table outside and were greeted fairly quickly by the busser who got us waters and said our server would be right over. It was probably 5 minutes from sit down time to our actual server coming over. The menu was typical bar fare, but their brunch menu had some interesting things on it. I ordered a chorizo breakfast wrap and my lady ordered a breakfast sandwich. We noticed other people who had arrived after us getting their food first and came to the conclusion that our server had forgotten to put our order in. When it finally came it was totally wrong! My order was right but they gave my girlfriend a grilled cheese sandwich, not even close to a breakfast sandwich. By then we were annoyed and just had the server take the sandwich away and shared the wrap. Bad negligent service, and the wrong food coming out when they are not even busy. Makes me think the server just didn't give a f@*k. Cleo's was nothing special, and clearly a name change and renovation did not change that.

A good sports bar and place to catch sports on TV. This can be rare in their neighborhood and the place has aan awsome outside patio. The food and drink prices are not that great though. The inside looks pretty cool and the few staff memebers the night I went appeared really friendly.Nothing spectacular and this looks like a typical suburban bar.

The food has taken an upswing and the staff is decent enough. The music blows though. Used to be great older indie rock and now it's Top 40 Pop. They also have a SERIOUS volume control. It's always way too loud.

Came here before going across the street because, the Map Room doesn't serve food. They're not trying to compete with the neighbors and that's just fine. The chorizo pizza was fabulously greasy and perfect and the can of Hamm's was worth every penny. Friendly service, clean. No complaints.

I'd give it a 0 if I could...I guess the beer was cold. The server spilled my beer on the table when she brought the first one and didn't wipe it up. My wife attempted to order some potato skins, but they apparently ran out of potatoes; really. I asked if they had "boneless wings" and she said yes, but then brought me chicken tenders soaked in their BBQ sauce. First, there's a difference between boneless wings and tenders. Second, they were cold. Third, they were basically the tenders every other bar gets from a place like Sysco, so yeah, not good. I told her that they were cold and that I would like something else. I ordered regular wings because she said they were terrific. Well, they turned out to be average at best. Their BBQ sauce is like Sweet Baby Rays watered down quite a bit. No taste, basically. Then, we got charged for both sets of wings! Awesome. Great service. Oh, yeah, and the waitress asked me why I prefer boneless wings to regular wings...why does that matter to her? I would NOT recommend eating here.

Inexpensive, good to great bar food, and a huge outdoor patio are the main attractions to this bar. Located just off of Damen and Armitage you'll avoid the chaos of 6 corners and enjoy a very inexpensive weekly food and drink special. I've enjoyed everything off their menu. I love their margherita pizza for 5 dollars on Thursdays, and 5 dollar half pound burger and Buffalo Chicken salads on Wednesdays. Despite being a regular i haven't befriended any of the staff yet.

We loved this place when it was Cleo's. Even after the switch Initially it seemed to retain some character and had the added selling point of the massive patio. But since then we have seen the service suffer, and the food go from average to terrible. Our server brought us the 2 Carlsbergs we ordered (which we loved on draft in their frosted glasses). NEWS...from our patio server: "Only plastic cups on the patio" she told us. A sip of warm, putrid brew was all it took to say we won't be back. Our "steak" quesadillas were actually "ground" meat, and poorly constructed (all ingredients, which were very sparse, were placed in the middle, leaving a 2 inch outside rim of tortilla with nothing inside). 'Not fer nothin', this is apparently a new kiddie haven, as we were surrounded by a dozen children, and their frantic parents. Maybe a great place for "city soccer moms" to come hang on the patio with strollers and some cheap white wine or warm beer...(all in plastic glasses like you've had at frat keg parties). Sorry, but this place now officially sucks for anyone looking for a fun beer garden in Bucktown.

The busser basically took care of us for the night because the waitress was too preoccupied with her other tables to continue checking in on us after taking our order for our first round. Not so sure I have ever been more neglected by a waitress than here at this bar. Not very good for a bar that recently changed ownership, name and menu. In the end, the busser got a tip directly in his pocket and she was left with nothing on the bill.

The reviews are pretty right on for this place. Pretty fun trivia, and not too difficult. The food was okay and priced well for a Wednesday night. $4 burgers, salads, and half off goose island beers! The service was just okay but we knew that going in. I would come here again for the Buffalo chicken salad and a fun lighthearted night of trivia.

This bar is very close to where I live. I have been there numerous times and I have had a very up and down experience. The staff is only engaging to their regulars and they make a point to have their patrons leave for bar close at 1:30. I have seen their regulars at the bar far later than last call. The wait staff turns over very often and they are not friendly or knowledgable of the menu. In have been over charged several times and have had to bring it to the attention of the wait staff and it took awhile to get corrected. If you are looking for a few shots of fireball without any regard for service, stop here on your way home. If not avoid is bar..

Awesome service, chill vibe, large patio, and tasty food. Perfect for a lazy day for some beers with friends. My brother and I came here on a Saturday afternoon, apartment hunting in the neighborhood and decided to stop by for some quick lunch between appointments. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we actually cancelled the next appointment so we could spend more time here. The server was attentive and super friendly. She served us on the patio even though there was a private tournament that was scheduled for 30 minutes later, just so we could enjoy the sun for a little while. She even helped us bring our meal inside when it was time to move and gave us free whiskey shots for the inconvenience. She didn't have to, and we definitely appreciated the gesture. It's little things like that that would bring me back. Dog friendly patio if you decide to bring Rex! It's summer time. Go! Enjoy!

More like 3.5 stars. This is a solid neighborhood bar. The food is pretty good. Nothing fancy but your standard bar fare. They have a decent beer selection. They have food and drink specials every day. So definitely check out their website for those. I live in the area so I'll definitely continue to frequent this place. It's close, it's reasonable, and the staff is friendly. I don't think it's worthy of being a destination though. If you live elsewhere in Chicago, I'm certain you can find a place equal or better in your neck of the woods. I've been a couple of times and each time ordered one of the pizzas. They are pretty tasty and can definitely be shared. After reading some of the reviews on here, I'll definitely be heading back to try the wings.

Average neighborhood spot - good for visiting during happy hours on the weekdays. The food is just average, the drinks would definitely not be considered a heavy pour, but at least they have drink specials to counter-act. Also, there are some shot specials if you are looking to have a casual celebration. (Hell, I'll celebrate making it to Wednesday of any week...) The patio is nice and calm after work, and they have a few TV's outside and darts to play around. But I have mixed feelings about people bringing their dogs. When a dog is lapping water next to me as I am sipping on a beer... it just creates a weird vibe. Solid 3-stars for being an alternative a crowded/packed map room and offering a decent patio.

Came on a Sunday for my own "bloody mary bar crawl" amd this was my first stop Nachos were awesome! Make sure to add a meet. They have there drinks specials listed all through out the bar and they look pretty awesome. $10 pitchers, shot specials daily and .35 cent wings on Monday.

Pretty decent joint to swing by with bar food and booze. It seems like everyday there is always a deal of the day. We came in on a Monday and had the chicken wings for 35 cent wings. We had three flavors and they were pretty decent and everything is really decent. No complaints just a decent place and nothing to special and there's always deals throughout the week so that's pretty great.

Came here for a quick drink and app with my sister. They have a decent beer selection and great outdoor space. Our waitress was nice but management could handled a situation with our table better. We were in a spot we were told we could sit but when a party decided to move to the back, we were asked to relocate and then were treated like it was our fault. We watched at least two parties sit down at other tables, and left when they didn't receive service. It appeared as if they were short staffed. So not the waitresses' fault. But not a good experience as a patron.

I go here for trivia quite a bit, which is a lot of fun. However, the service I have received by the waitress Dagger was terrible. A few times she has been slow, which I get! It's trivia, a lot of people are there, and it's a little chaotic. However, this last time was just too much. She forgot my beer, so I ate an entire burger and fries without ever getting my beer. She barely checked in (how I likely managed to eat an entire meal without ever getting a drink...). Our orders were screwed up, with my burger getting the toppings my girlfriend wanted on my burger and the wrong cheese, and her getting no toppings but the correct cheese. She then became rude with my girlfriend and I, visibly rolling her eyes, and becoming combative saying she told us there were extra charges for Cheese and fries, when she clearly didn't. It was only $1, so I wasn't too worried and was just asking for clarification because neither of us remember these charges in previous visits, but she immediately became aggressive and rude when asked about the bill. Didn't even bring up the fact that she managed to screw up both our orders as well... If I could give a rating on service by Dagger alone, it would be 1! Like I said I love the trivia so it gets two stars.

I cam here for Wednesday night trivia and I am so so so happy I did. The service was great and quick...which is shocking being as busy as it was. There was not an empty table in the entire place. The prices were great. They had a $3 "J" shot special going on... meaning a shot of Jack, Jamison, Jose, etc. for $3. My boyfriend took full advantage of that. The food was also great. I got a grilled cheese and my boyfriend got the Reuben. My grilled cheese was awesome. It was an "adult" grilled cheese with tomatoes and baccccconnnnn. Mmm mmm mmmm! My boyfriend loved his Reuben as well. His favorite part were all of the tv's. They were playing six different games... basketball, hockey and baseball. He was in love. He got to catch up on all his sports without flipping through channels. The trivia was extremely well organized and the pace was just right. We didn't win. But I never expect to win. The questions were just hard enough to where it isn't boring.... but you still have a shot at knowing the answers if you delve deep in your brain. I highly, highly recommend this place. They also have a great patio... I am itching to go back for some summertime day drinking. :)

One of the worst bar experiences I've ever had in my life. I was in the city over Labor Day weekend and ended up here around midnight. Upon going in we were ID'ed, at which point I still had my wallet. The place was relatively empty by this point and we grabbed a couple of tables in the back room - no one save for our party was in there from the time we arrived to the time we left, except for one INCREDIBLY rude waitress (I say that having worked in bars and restaurants all through college) As we were leaving, I went to get my wallet out of my purse (which had been hanging on the back of one of the chairs) - it was missing. After repeated attempts to flag down a manager, one finally took my number and information down. An hour later there was a charge on my credit card. I managed to cancel all cards but my ID etc were all gone. Thankfully I had my passport with me otherwise I'm not sure how I would have gotten back to Denver. The bar had security cameras in every corner, but despite my calling every day for a week (and every time being told the general manager would call me right back and was looking into it) I eventually gave up as it was clear no one was looking at any security footage or was in the least bit bothered about things being stolen from customers right in their own bar and possibly from one of their staff members. Their callousness and complete disregard was astounding to me - I have never in my life written a shitty yelp review, but their shitty service and attitude definitely prompted this. So yeah, the drinks are fine, just make sure you keep an eye on your belongings, because if they disappear no one's going to do a damn thing to help you locate them.

i visited this Gem last Friday morning around Midnight with some friends and man I was shocked. First off Eddie behind the bar was a stellar guy and super cool. The Drinks were delicious and I must admit..I'm a big fan of BBQ so i had to try their Pulled Pork Sliders....WOW !!!!! They're AMAZBALLS !!!! I'm not lying some of the best i've ever had and i've spent time in the south where BBQ is RELIGION. Overall the vibe is really cool at Jack and Gingers & the outdoor seating area is cool for the spring/summer months so i'll def be back soon to enjoy that and other food but most likely more Pulled Pork Sliders...Cause I Heart Them so much. Allison & Eddie see you soon & Thanks again for everything & the great vibe :) Greatly Appreciated
