Loved this place! I got the beef quesadilla and avocado - so tasty!! Tried it for the first time it was very worth it. Slightly sketch area but didn't feel unsafe at any time.

Amazing veggie burrito!! I go here all the time and I love it. Plus you can get crazy variety here. Also the price is amazing for the amount of food.

You don't (shouldn't) go to places like Guerrero's expecting to have food that is Michelin Star rated food. That being said, if you want pretty good fare for a good price then you can't go wrong here! I moved to the neighborhood in the fall and this has become my place when I want a bite to eat without killing my bank account. I generally stick with the tacos (steak and chorizo) or burrito... the one exception being a below average burger that taught me a lesson not to branch out too much. However, they sell pizza by the slice that looks pretty decent if you are looking for something a little different.

This place opened a few months ago and it is a very good place to get a quick bite. This is a family owned restaurant. His daughter, son and whole staff are super friendly. The chicken fajitas are delicious. Everything is good including pizza. The best part is the price $5.75 for a whole pizza...you can't beat that. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. .

Chicken tacos, pizza and quesadillas are poppin'! Don't forget the salsa verde. And did I mention CHEAP.

Plain and simple. They serve the best food that delivers to the area I live in. Love their tacos, tortas, nachos, and burgers.

Guerrero's is AWESOME!!!! I love this joint. Since leaving DC I have been craving a carryout. Don't know what a carryout is well think one part Chinese, one part sandwiches, one part fried goodness and throw in cigarettes, blunts and ice tea for flavor. Well Guerrero's is as close as I've found in Chicago to this. They have great Mexican, solid pizza, fresh fried chicken, and good burgers. What more could you ask from a neighborhood joint. The staff is super friendly and makes everything fresh to order. If the solid food wasn't enough to get you there well then check out the prices. Super cheap for what you get and it's always fresh and hot. Guerrero's has become my go to joint when I'm not sure what I want to get or want something fast and good. Thank the Gods for Guerrero's, now if they could only master some Chinese I'd be in carryout heaven!

In all fairness, it's difficult to write a decent review at this point. I'm mostly happy that we finally have something other than an empty storefront around here. When I saw that they were open, I rushed in and got a slice to go. I wasn't even hungry. Their hours are amazing -- they open at 9AM for breakfast, stay open during the week until 11PM, and until midnight on the weekends. That's a welcome convenience. The menu is all over the place; thin crust and pan pizza, pasta, sandwiches, burgers, sides, fried chicken, ribs, shrimp, salads, and then there are all these Mexican dishes... Can they pull all of that off? Should I care? If they can do one thing right, I'll be happy. I plan on returning real soon and updating this review. And the slice didn't kill me, so that's a plus right there. I recommend checking it out in its new and shiny state. BTW, the phone number is actually printed on the carry-out menu as (773) 292-9000-05, but the Yelp field doesn't like that.

Good selection of all your late night favorites. A good choice of American-Mexican-Italian menu choices. Good friendly family owned service. Pizza is pretty decent, tacos and burritos are really good. I still haven't tried the burgers.

My wife and I just left there and we LOVED the steak tacos!!! Originally we were going to take the food to go but the brother and sister team who served us were so nice we decided to stay. Its a new restaurant so they still have some tweaking to do but I will be back.

Have been eating regularly at this place for over four months now. Tonight the owner let me in after they closed so that I could snag the last 2 pieces of delicious pizza and a PiNa Jarritos to wash those sexy triangle of love down, mmm mmm mmm! Anyway you slice it, this place kicks ass. And if you don't like their food, go f*ck yourself. Turn up.

My boyfriend brought me home a veggie burrito, and it was awesome. I had never been but he goes all the time (and eats meat, I do not) so I was expecting something kinda meh because of the whole pizza/taco thing. But hey, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut combined forces and made it work. Anyway, the burrito had lettuce, tomato, rice, beans, sour cream, and avocado. It was huge. The red sauce isn't crazy hot like most places, which was nice (the green? Crazy hot). So with a cliche Yelp ending, "I'll be back."

Guerrero's offers pretty decent neighborhood Mexican food. Quesadillas, burritos, tacos, tortas, enchiladas and the chips and mondo serving of guacamole and not to be missed! If you order the large serving to go you get a (probably) 20 ounce styrofoam cup packed with fresh guacamole and the chips barely make a dent in the bad boy! Definitely worth it. I usually wouldn't recommend eating at Guerrero's. The place is small and can be crowded. There are a lot of people coming in and out and it smells...well...like a Mexican restaurant = oil, meat, fried things. I live next door so I call in an order and pick it up. It's much more comfortable and efficient. You don't have to wait for your food (although it's never more than 10 minutes). If you don't live as close as I do, have them deliver. The drivers are quick! One thing I wish they would change is that the menu posted in the restaurant does not show the prices. If you look at the take away menu, it does. If you walk in and order, it's always a surprise when you pay which I'm not a fan of. You can always ask for the prices or look at the take away menu, of course. The food is, however, plentiful and delicious. I have eaten there more times than I care to admit and I have rarely been disappointed. The jumbo quesadillas are wonderfully delicious. The burritos are epic and gut busting. I already mentioned the chips and guac, which is fresh and tasty. The salsas are spicy and flavorful. The tortas and tacos and enchiladas are all great. They really know how to do it right! A word to the wise: don't order their non-Mexican food items, i.e., the burgers, fries, pizza, etc. Stick to the Mexican menu items and you'll be happy and incredibly full!

What the heck is going on here Yelpers? The community awards THIS place 4 stars? The FOOD is not good, the SPACE is disgusting, and the STAFF is unfriendly. Was the good cook just off on Friday night or something? Man, this place was terrible and my stomach hurts today.

The jewel of Humboldt Park (at least for good ol' quick order Mexican comfort food). I always get the same thing - carne asada tacos with onion and cilantro + limes and grilled jalapeno on the side. Pastor is good too though! The hard-working staff is friendly and seem to remember me. A great neighborhood joint! Maybe one day I'll try the huaraches. PS - Salsa verde is the way to go. Dump it on everything!

Veggie burrito is awesome, and I'm not a vegetarian, usually go for the steak. Which both are amazing. Love the people who work here. Friendly, helpful, funny, and fast. The food is never a disappointment. This place has a great XL pizza deal if ur having people over :-)

"Burgers, tacos and pizza...oh my!" Guerrero's is a small place that packs a large menu. If you are hungery, short on time and not sure where to go, head on into to this place. The menu offers quite a few items to choose from. Nothing in the store is really expensive. They do accept credit/debit with a $5.00 min. It's worth going to...

This is the ratings for customer service over the phone. The lady who took my order seemed to be very rushed. As I am a new customer when I made my order of grilled chicken sandwich she asked me if I wanted fries, I said what other sides are an option, she said you either want fries or you don't get no side (this is all in Spanish). I told her fries is fine. I also wanted to order a Huarache plain she rudely said you just want the tortilla I said no just with cheese no meat, she asked me if I wanted a vegetarian Huarache I said yes when she mentioned it came with beans and rice I asked if it was on the side she said no that it all went inside the handmade corn tortilla. So I said then I don't want the vegetarian Huarache just one with cheese. With that said if she would have offered to put the beans and rice on the side of would have taken the offer. So for my next item to order I asked her for a steak Huarache , she asked me if I wanted everything on it, I asked what was everything ( since the neighborhood is mix I assumed they had the option of Cilantro and onion or lettuce, tomato, onion and sour cream). So she went ahead and annoyingly said Cilantro and onion. With that said... Even if you are in rush hour (keep on mind it's a Wednesday at about 10:15 pm) you treat your customers nicely regardless if they ask you questions about the menu HELLO IT'S YOUR JOB!! SO... This was my first time ordering and I will think about it TWICE BEFORE ORDERING and this is the only place open.

After reading the reviews decided to order a delivery. It was said that was 45 min max and I am less then a mile away from this place. I called they said they were waiting on a driver and still no food. It took 1h.22min The food was ready and sitting there waiting because had no driver. Do not even waist your time in going to this place Beans - watery down and no flavor Pizza - bellow average Chicken - for a 1/2 is a way small then average size Tortillas - they give you a lot but as soon as you open you smell of baking powder. I would recommend to go to Taqueira Moran.

  • Brad R.

My friends and I would come here every often. Not because the food is amazing but because you simply you could not beat their prices. Everything they sell is ok but nothing has a wow factor. Recently they jacked up the prices on every single food item and it has all gone up by 30%(I've done the math) That is an outrageous increase to smack people with. Since then I haven't been back because there places with much tastier food for the same price.

Beefs are amazing and huge, pizza is solid, not blow your mind, but solid. Tacos are excellent! Can't wait to try the rib tips. Prices are extremely aggressive. This place will do well

Oh boy a 10% off coupon! Gotta love these even though they only really take care of the tax or delivery fee (so actually it is "choose your antidote".) This was a new place that started showing up online and I'm doing summer cleaning which keeps me inside so delivery it is! The ground beef burrito & meat lover's pizza w/ a side of cole slaw sounded appetizing so I thought I'd try it out. I placed the order around 7:30pm and get confirmation that it should arrive between 8:45-8:55pm (over an hour for less than 2 miles?) Must be a very busy day. So I'm waiting...waiting...waiting...heck, I've pretty much scrubbed the same pot three times already at this point and when 9:15pm rolls around I decide to give the restaurant a call. The lady who answered the phone was nice and promptly put me on hold to call her driver. A few minutes pass and she tells me he said he's 2 minutes away and apologizes, all is forgiven in a heart wrenching sitcom moment. I get a call a few minutes later and it's the driver asking what building I'm in. The food itself looks great. The pizza has a generous amount of toppings spread throughout with all the sausage, pepperoni, Italian beef, etc. The burrito was big and was tailored to perfection, it's one of those burritos you KNOW is good. So why only three stars after all these compliments? Well quite frankly presentation is not everything and the almost 2 hour wait did not help. The pizza was pretty bland for how many ingredients went into it. Pretty much the Italian beef took over everything except the bread which somehow had more flavor than everything else (and not that good of a flavor btw.) The sauce was scarce and flavor seemed non-existent, if you're going to make good pizza start with a good sauce which wasn't the case here. The ground beef in the burrito was super salty which was a major letdown. Other than that the burrito was probably the greasiest burrito I've ever handled, but somehow stayed together and would've been much better if those 2 flaws were fixed. I would give Guerrero's 3.5 stars had the issues I had with the burrito been fixed and delivery was faster, 4 if they used better quality ingredients to avoid that blandness that came with all their food. For now though all they get is 3. Someday I'll revisit this place and try their bbq ribs & chicken though.

Great chicken tacos. I wouldn't expect it to taste so good. The chicken is shredded and has pieces of green bell pepper. Has great flavor. I can't say about the other food. I've only tried the tacos and pizza by the slice. Which is always warm and fresh. Reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is due to the messy seating inside. And the wait time can be ridiculous at times. But it is expected from a place with good food and cheap prices in Humboldt Park.

  • Frances V.

So glad we tried this place! Lots of flavor and huge portions all for such a great price! We tried the broiled chicken and the Arachera, both amazing!!! The rice also had great flavor, I never care for Mexican rice but this rice was was full of flavor! Definitely will be back! Hope the pizza is just as tasty and fresh :)

I could eat Guerrero's tacos all day, every day. This place is the definition of cheap and cheerful, and, quite frankly, I think I would probably have moved to a neighbourhood with a slightly lower homicide rate if ole Guerrero's wasn't just Sittin' on the corner all handy and convenient. There's normally at least one person there in their pyjamas, which just adds to the low-key neighbourhood charm of the place. Guerrero's has saved my life many a hungover Saturday afternoon, and their highly professional staff allow me to discretely fuel my debilitating guacamole addiction without being judgemental at all, at least to my face anyway. In a nutshell, Guerrero's is the jewel of Humboldt Park, if not the entire Chicagoland area, and we should all give thanks to whatever higher power decided to put it there.

Huaraches!!! Never had one before but this place just made them my favorite thing! Think of a combination between a burrito and a quesadilla made with a big corn tortilla. Less fillings but just delicious!!! Cheesy warm and the meat of your choice. YUM! Plus the people are really friendly.

  • Chris G.

Veggie quesadillas. Hands down, the best in Chicago. Huge, fresh, delish. I love you! :)

I live right by here and I'm so glad I have this place so close by. I've been a faithful customer ever since they opened. My favorite thing here to get is the pastor tacos. They make them so delish! Also their pastas are huge and really good. Obviously if you come to a place like this, you wouldn't expect amazing food or 5 star service but the workers there are really sweet and the food is pretty good. I would definitely recommend this place for fast food.

  • Joshua M.

As a general rule, I avoid ordering food from places that are "Pizza & ___" or "____ & Pizza" because in my experience a restaurant is usually only good at one thing. I can't speak to the pizza portion of this restaurant (They make fried chicken too!), but the Mexican food here is dynamite... And I'm not even the type of person who uses the word "dynamite" to describe food. Their tacos are phenomenal. Their salsa is great (Though it would have been nice to get the chips and salsa I paid extra for... That unfortunately wasn't included in my order). I've also tried their burritos, and they're AMAZING. Everything they make with steak is GREAT. Delivery driver was extremely friendly. If my entire order had been there, this would be 5 stars.

  • Kelly A.

Good for fast Mexican food, and very reasonably priced. Order takeout ahead, they were a little bit slow. Chicken burrito suizo and steak taco were great. Milanesa torta was pretty average. Friendly service. Would definitely give it a 3.5 if I could. Will eat there again.

Wow...after all the positive reviews, I was surprised to have such a poor experience. Ordered from GrubHub; delivery was about an hour, which was within the window, and the delivery guy was friendly. But the food? Wow...total disappointment. Chorizo burrito suizo -- The chorizo lacked so much flavor, I thought they had given me some sort of unseasoned ground beef. Nothing flavorful. Burrito shell was stiff, almost like it was stale, but I'm guessing that maybe they baked it too long after throwing the cheese on top. Nachos - Container of standard round corn tortilla chips, and a cup of processed nacho liquid cheese. Garlic Bread -- Honestly, I just threw this in because I needed an extra $1.25 or so to meet the delivery minimum. But wow, this was the saddest effort at garlic bread I've ever seen. A french roll opened up, somebody splashed some butter on about half of it, and called it a day. Sorry dudes...I gave your place a shot. The search for a decent chorizo burrito continues...

Love their tacos!! Steak is so tender and juicy! The guacamole is made to order so it's Always fresh. The Chicken tacos are great too! We sometimes get the pizza special as well and it's yummy pizza! Great quick place. The prices are reasonable too!

  • Jolana F.

Great great great!!! It's so funny because I don't even know what to say their speciality is. But this is always consistent, great, "diner style" cheap eats. It also helps that it's right around the corner from me. But cheap, tasty, comfort food. I'll take it. I normally get the burger. Never disappoints. Not the cleanest, but did I mention..cheap?

Walking distance from me relatives house. Had the munchies..so walked over. It really satisfied! I sat at the counter and watched the cook take out fresh chicken pieces and heat them up...very nicely seasoned. Had a chicken taco wrapped in double tortilla topped in onions and fresh cilantro. Also had the steak taco and fresh chips with their great salsa Verde. Then took a chicken quesadilla to go...all this for $7! Will go back again.

Very disappointing. I ordered different items off their menu. Nachos - generic chips and cheap cheese. Personal pizza - dough and different. Spaghetti- what was I thinking.

  • Ryan T.

When it comes to service speed, they are lacking. Maybe it was because I went so late at night and the employees were tired. They were also out of the pizza slices that they advertise for; at least three customers including myself asked for it and they wouldn't put a new one in. It's honestly the only reason I went in. I got the fish n' chips instead. The food is pretty good. It's nothing to write home about, but for the price you can't beat it. This is a good late night munchies place. I would eat there again.

  • Amanda S.

I always see people here, as it is very close to my building, but I have never ventured inside. I tried it for the first time a few nights ago and it isn't half bad at all. I was a little apprehensive about a taco and pizza place, but I gave it shot anyway. I called in an order for pick up. The woman on the phone was very friendly, and seemed to be in good spirits. I ordered a large cheese pan pizza and an order of mozzarella sticks. She told me the order would be ready in 45 minutes. I walked over and the pizza wasn't ready yet. I waited about 15 more minutes for it, which is fine, that's about the average time for a pizza anyway. I got home and took a look at the pizza. It is very cheesy lol there is about an inch of cheese on top. The sauce isn't very favorable, it isn't bland either. Overall it was okay, but for the price of $19 for the entire order it's excellent!! I will def come back. I wouldn't say it's the est pizza out there, but I would reccommend if you want a decent pizza for a great price.

I only go here for the tacos and tortas, extra meat pls.

  • Jerome S.

I literally live next door. This place is solid and definitely an affordable choice for lunch or dinner. I enjoy the taco dinner it's a great value and you can choice a combo of meats for the three tacos in the meal. I would skip the pizza, it's not good enough to be part of the restaurant name. Stick to the tacos or grab a burrito.

This place is awesome. I still love Guerrero's even though I live on the other side of town and I'll definitely be back. I used to go there like every other day, but understandably they lost a lot of their really awesome specials from when they first opened (mainly like their pizza deals - the personal one is way too small). But the staff here is super friendly and personable. I just know that the last time I was in I wasn't super excited about their specials.

  • Erik R.

DONT ORDER DELIVERY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! I was told my order would be here in 40-50 min and an hour and a half later, nothing. I only live 15 min away, all they say is "sorry" and they blame it on the driver. This was my second time ordering delivery and it was late for the 2nd and last time, l Will NEVER order from here again. The worst customer service & mediocre food.

  • Mark D.

I generally avoid places that serve everything you can possibly imagine. However, because of the good reviews I ordered delivery from this restaurant. I had a bad case of the munchies so I ordered nachos, a burrito, and a small pizza. Shockingly, it was all delicious! Not only was it delicious but they made it and delivered it in approximately 2.5 seconds. I'm pretty sure the delivery guy put on a cape and flew over to my apartment......this place is now high on my list of my favorite delivery joints.

I've owed thud place a review for a while. Very solid, reliable burritos and tortas. Fresh chips and green salsa are always great. I always get a mix of al pastor and asada and its delicious everytime. This is a no frills, primarily take out place that I definitely recommend when your hungry for Mexican. Can't comment on the pizza or other menu items.

My boyfriend was eyeing the tacos at Old Town Social but the place was packed because of Stanley Cup Playoffs (I assume...is it always that crowded on Saturday nights?) so we searched elsewhere. Guerrero's is on the way home, and there was no wait at the walk up counter. We got 3 tacos and a piece of pizza for $7. Probably the cost of one taco at Old Town Social. We weren't expecting the food to be good at this price point but we were pleasantly surprised. Of the chicken, chorizo, and pork tacos, my bf said pork was best. He said it had crunchy bits, if that appeals to you. He also pointed out the tacos were almost as big as burritos! (If you order them with cheese and avocado) He made me open the fridge to look at the leftover taco so I could see how big it was for the purpose of this review. The pizza, while average portion, was above average flavor for what you typically get from those rotating by-the-slice ovens. I found it difficult to stop eating it even though I knew I was just going to fall asleep. We managed to save a few bites for tomorrow and now the challenge will be keeping the Guerrero's cravings under control. The place is around the corner. And so cheap. Dangerous.

  • Richa A.

Open late, cheap, and down the street from my place. I didn't need more than that, but Guerrero's far exceeded my expectations. I ordered the vegetarian quesadilla to go, and this thing was loaded with ingredients -- cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, rice, beans & avocado, served with a side of green salsa. It was more of a burrito than a quesadilla, actually. The rice/beans were surprisingly yummy/ seasoned well, which normally I feel like is a filler ingredient. Avocado was fresh. Definitely delicious and not just convenient. Also, it was $2. Amazing.

I was walking down the street looking for a place to get a taco when something better came into my field of view: tacos and pizza. I'd like to say that I stood strong, and stuck with my Mexican urges, but alas I am not that strong. The pizza siren's song carried me in. Place was clean, the cashier was incredibly friendly and, best of all, the pizza was cheap! 1.75 a slice almost made me give pause, but it was quality. Not the best slice in Chicago, by any means, but I've paid much more money for lower-quality slices. For 3.50 I had a slice of cheese and sausage (without any wait, and they were still hot). The place was clean even. Thumbs up. Pretty much the only downside I can state is that the trashcan's pedal doesn't work, so you have to lift the lid with your hands. But if that is any kind of dealbreaker for you, you probably haven't left your apartment since Nixon was impeached. You weirdo.

tacos are pretty awesome! i think the tacos are better than Flash Taco, Picante, and La Pasadita. the huge menu makes this place even better!!

As a picky eater, there's very few places I actually like. Hands down the chicken burrito is to die for (hey, in that neighborhood you just might!). Incredibly cheap at just $4.80. If you live in the suburbs you should order an extra for the morning after (I'm pissed that I didn't plan ahead, it really was that good).

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate.
