I had drafted a review a few months ago giving this place 5 stars because I thought the stuffed pizza was so excellent. However, I ordered a pizza about a week ago or so and ended up almost choking on a piece of copper wire that I found inside the crust. I contacted customer service TWICE and they only thing they asked me was where I ordered from. It was a trite email; there appeared to be no intention on their part to apologize or to make amends. I will never order from there again, and I plan on telling everyone I know about this. What a horrible letdown.

I don't know why it was so hard to have a competent waitress here. Our waitress acted as if she had no time to answer our questions or wait on us. I live giordanos but I will not be coming back to this giordanos.

I brought my inlaws here and we were seated promply, we called ahead and made a reservation... They gave us a nice corner booth and had a high chair waiting for the baby, very family friendly pizza place. We ordered the "meat, meat, & more meat" deep dish and after a few apetitzers, it did'nt take to long to get to us. Giordano's met our expectations for what a Chicago style deep dish should be. Our server was excellent and very attentative! She deserves a raise.

I love deep dish pizza! Unfortunately, Giordano's uses canned tomatoes for its "sauce." My mom visited from Georgia was completely dissapointed in her Chicago deep dish experience. There are far superior places to eat deep dish, like Gino's. There was a small puddle of water in the middle of our pizza from the canned tomatoes, and the serve said it was supposed to be like that. Not sure if this is the Evanston location or just a bad day to go, but I think I'll be visiting the several other places before I go back to find out.

Bottom Line Up Front: not bad if you're in a pinch, but Lou Malnati's is a far superior Chicago pie. Thinking about going to Giordano's for that "authentic" Chicago deep dish pizza? STOP. As the Beastie Boys' King Ad Rock says: "Not now, but RIGHT NOW" head for the nearest Lou Malnati's. Giordano's is by no means the worst Chicago-style pizza in the city... that's at Gino's East. Regardless, I wouldn't eat here unless you either didn't care that there was a much better option, or they're running a promotion where Mike Ditka personally delivers the pie to your house. Giordano's does not have anything close to Lou's "butter crust" or their "wheel of sausage" that covers an entire pie. The pizza isn't "bad" but it's just such a stark contrast to Lou's I have a difficult time rating it any higher. If I'm rating the thin crust, I would give a slightly better rating because the breadth of comparison grows exponentially (meaning Pizza Hut, Little Caesars, et. al). The crust is crispy, the toppings are usually pretty generous, and it's ready much faster than the deep dish.

I'm so surprised to read negative feedback from others as my experience was a true delight. This was my first time to this Giordano's on Broadway near Loyola. The food was awesome. I'm a native New Yorker and biased to thin crust but must admit the Giordano's deep dish with pepperoni that I had was amazing. Our waitress Cecilia (sp?) was very friendly and did a good job in taking care of our group of 8. Jennifer and John (management) were really nice and I can't thank them enough for their hospitality and kindness (they actually donated about $100 worth of food towards a charity I am involved with). VERY nice and shows the character of the family that owns this location. I look forward to going back again and my positive review is based solely on the quality of the food (excellent) and the service (excellent) from this first visit there. It has nothing to do with their generous act. Should the food and service been sub-par, I would have simply not reviewed. For those with bad experiences, I'd give this Giordano's location another shot.

The beer list is too limited and the appetizer quality was poor... its a shame this institution stands to represent Chicago to tourists as a great example of for our cuisine.

If you order gluten free pizza because you have to, stay far away from this place.

Always our first pizza visit when we come to visit. Now that we live 2 blocks from the place, it probably won't be visited as much, but it is always good, hot, and greasy. Good service, good sized restaurant so we've never had a problem being seated. The crust is awesome and so is the sauce that comes with the garlic bread. It's also really good if it's cold for those midnight snacks.

I'm a regular...a good chunk of the counter staff knows me by face, name, and order. I'm that guy. I can see the store from the window of my apartment. I've had their stuffed (deep dish), thin crust, most of their sandwiches, and several of their pastas. Deep Dish... Gooey cheese, slightly sweet and fairly thick sauce, with typical pizza place meats. The crust is great. Slightly buttery, somewhat salty, crunch on the outside with a nice bread like texture on the bottom. This is my single favorite place for Deep Dish Pizza in the city. Thin Crust... Not nearly as good as their deep. It's on the better end of thin/hand tossed pizza, but it is a second choice to their deep. Sandwiches... Great, and pretty cost efficient ($10-ish). I've had: Italian Beef, Italian Sausage, Combo (personal favorite), Meatball, Chicken Parmesan, and Chicken Breast sandwiches. My top two recommendations are: Combo and Meatball w/baked mozzarella. You can thank me later for the delicoiusness, and you can curse me later for the heart attack. The rolls they use are great, the meats and seasonings are of nice quality, and the cost is pretty awesome. Each sandwich comes with a side. I get french fries every time, as they are steak fries. When I order one of their sandwiches, I feel delightfully stuffed without feeling like I spend $10 on a sandwich that I could've made at home (certain other places, I get that feeling). Pasta... Unless if you're splitting an order, get the smaller size. The large size is enough for at least 2-3 meals for one person (speaking of the spaghetti) . Their pasta tastes better than what my Mom used to make, granted, my family is full of Midwest farm type cooks rather than Italian. Service... I order for pickup every time. I've been going to this location for about three years now, and I've yet to eat there. The people are nice, they're up for doing a "delayed start" so that your order is hot when you get there, and they remember you, if you come back often enough. "Delayed start" stuff, for awhile, I'd order a pizza right when I left work, yet it takes me longer to get home from work than it does for the pizza to cook...so I'd ask them if they would wait a few minutes to start it because I will be there around ::time that is about 90 mins later::. I have never had any issues with this place. I don't eat there as often as I used to, but that is because you really shouldn't eat there 4-5 times a week like I was...now, it's 1-2 times a month.

After trying Lou Malnati's I thought I would not find a better pizza, but I was pretty impressed with this place. My friend lived near this location so we decided to pop on in for dinner. It was pretty empty, but there were a few Loyola students dining in there. The decor of the restaurant was nothing spectacular and it was not as fancy as Lou's, but then again it is a pizza joint. We decided to order the deep dish with Sausage to compare it against Lou's and I was pretty impressed. I really enjoy the crust on this pizza more so, it was not saturated in butter, crispy, and just tasted right. I also liked the sauce more. The sauce was a bit sweeter and blended more with the pizza instead of having chunks of tomatoes. What I did not enjoy was the amount of fresh mozzarella in the middle of the pizza. It was a little overwhelming and was overflowing everywhere. When the pizza sat there for a while the cheese began to harden, which I was not a fan of. I enjoyed the pizza, but if you are looking for more of a Chicago feel and a bustling restaurant, I would head to Uno's, Due, or Lou Malnati's.

I'm extremely disappointed over the dinner I had delivered tonight. I ordered the Chicken Oreganato and found a chunk of ground meat in my pasta. I surely hope I didn't get someone's leftovers. I feel so grossed out. Echk... bleh... nasty! My husband ordered the baked mostaccioli and specifically asked to have a side of meatballs. His order came without the meatballs and he gave the restaurant a call. So they asked many times to look at his food again and double check to make sure it's not there. Do they think he's stupid or blind? Anyway, they got their delivery guy to bring over an order of meatballs. And when my husband took a look, it only contained 2. So $2 worth of meatballs is 2 small ones? Wow, they're stingy. They didn't even offer to compensate for the mistake in any way. I would've thought they at least throw in a few extra ones since they didn't give him any credit for it. Anyway, their service and presentation were aweful. I will never order from here again. My husband also mentioned that there seemed to be a language barier and that it was pretty much run by non-italian foreigners."

When I first moved to Chicago, everyone told me I needed to go to Uno's and Lou Malnatti's for the quintessential deep dish Chicago style pizza but, I was disappointed in both of those. The deep dish pizza here is far better than any other I have had in this city. I can't get it too often for fear of having a heart attack before I turn 30, but whenever someone comes in from out of town or there is some sort of special occasion, I like to come here. I especially like that it's walking distance from my home, so when I stuffed full of pizza, I'm forced to walk it off a little on my way home.

The food at this place is pretty good. However, if you are looking for good customer service, you might want to look elsewhere. I have called in a number of orders to pick up over the past few months. Each time I went in, the cashier said maybe three sentences to me: "dining in or pickup?", "What's the name", and "$X". No have a nice day or anything. They did the bare minimum. I was particularly annoyed when I went in to pick up an order, and I split the cost with a friend. I told the girl to split the payment. She put the entire order on my credit card. When I informed her, all she said was "oops. Let me get my manager." That's it. No apology or anything. The manager wasn't much better. He came over to the cash register, pressed some buttons, and fixed it. However, upon leaving, there was no "sorry for the inconvenience" or "thank you for your patience", nothing. This is not the only time that I have had such lousy customer service. It is just about every time I go in there, save for 1 or 2 times. The majority of the time, there is just some young kid, with a neutral expression, who does the bare minimum, in terms of customer service. While I have frequented this place, I can definitely say that I am just about ready to give up on them. While the food is good (hence the 3 stars), I'd rather spare myself the irritation of the zombie-like customer service.

One of my favorite 'fixes' when I visit Chicago -- cheesy deep dish pizza with sausage, Chicago-style. Our evening here on a vacation visit in April 2012 lived up to our expectations, and our server was friendly and excellent.

SOOOO GOOD!!!!! This is my first deep dish in Chicago.. and boy have I been missing out. We started off with a Caprese Salad... tomatoes haven't been the best this season.. but it was pretty good and the mozz cheese was good.. a bit too much dressing for me tho.. and the black olives seemed.. out of place to me... BUT it's all about the PIZZA. We ordered a medium Special (for 3-4) and it was SOOOO GOOD.. just amount of cheese, sauce and filling... the inner edge is so hot and delicious... the crust is so crisp and the flavor is amazing.. boyfriend said almost pielike.. I don't usually eat pizza.. cuz a lot of times it's just not that good... but THIS made me believe in good pizza again!!! With the deepdish you shouldn't take out or have leftovers.. you just gotta gobble it up while it's still piping hot and gooey and amazing! We got the MEDIUM size but we totally could've easily inhaled the Large... we eat a lot tho.. so a medium is probably decent for you non-fatsos like boyfriend & I :D

I can't believe I never reviewed you before... I got my place up here on the north side nearly five years ago... This spot has been a go to deep dish delivery chill for me pretty much since I moved in... The pizza is always amazing! Both deep dish and thin crust, although personally I go deep! I think a lot of folks love to hate on the big G because everyone all over America thinks of it as the Chicago deep dish pizza, so when you become all Chicago you feel obligated to find better and be indie and know that unknown Chicago deep dish spot... I did that for a while, but then I came home and I realized why the big G got so big and so famous, because it is so darn good! Hint - Order it uncut, this will keep it from sticking to the box especially for next day cold consumption! I hate when I forget to go uncut! Why not give it 5 stars? The wings! The wings! The wings! Just stop, please! We have ordered the wings before and loved them! Recently we had a craving for New York style thin crust pizza from another spot that shall go unnamed, who sadly offers no wing options at all... We proceed to order 4 orders of Giordano's wings, delivered to my place with tip tax and delivery like 50 bucks-ish, which is only 32 wings, you would say dang those must be some fly wings up in that hizzow, Heeeelllll Nahhhh! They were broken-bent-grounded-soggy-dry-unfortunate, shoulda called them to come pick up the failure half in the garbage chickilicking bad... Yeah so do your self a favor and stick to the pizza! I know they are not called Giordano's Chicken and for that reason I will still give them 4 stars because the pizza is that good! If they took the wings off the menu I could revisit this and kick them up a star fo shizzle! Love your Pizza! Not loving the wings!

Giordano's is classic chicago stuffed pizza. I love the spinach stuffed pizza. It's my go-to pizza in the neighborhood when I have people visiting from out-of-state and they want to know why Chicago is known for its pizza. The Rogers Park location is a great space and the staff is always nice.

The food here was fine but the service is crazy ridiculous and I wont ever eat here again. Everytime I come here or deal with this place somebody gotta be rude like WTH!!! The females that work here are like on a permanent PMS they ass always in a nasty mood but I'm sorry I'm dealing with it. Then whenever I request to speak with a manager they come and really make it worse by not doing anything so I gave up on them I dont care if there the closest to my house I'd rather drive out my way and go to another one.

I write this review mainly out of annoyance. I've eaten at this spot MANY times because it's so convenient to where I live but it doesn't mean it's good and yesterday was basically the straw that broke the camel's back. The pizza here is passable and that's all. I usually order thin crust cheese because I'm in a bind, I need a pizza fairly fast, and it's close. I've had the other types of pizza here...all just okay. And for the price, I'd go somewhere else. But the thing that really kills me is the customer service. I basically SEVERELY dislike the people who work in here. Every time I call to place an order, I feel like I'm talking to someone physically located in another country--it sounds like a war-zone wherever they're answering the phone, and I end up screaming my order several times into the phone, causing me to look and feel stupid. Customer-service wise, they run the gamut from being somehow apathetic about your business to outright rude. And here's a little tip should you still proceed to order from them: Go with delivery over pick-up everytime. When the pizza's delivered, the guys delivering are always awesome (very friendly) and the pizza is hotter than hot. When I pick it up, it seems like everything's been sitting for roughly 3 hours and I get sneered at snotty cashier du jour. Order from here only if you must. And even then, prepare yourself for a bounty of mediocrity.

For some reason, my girlfriend wanted to get heart-shaped pizza from Giordano's for Valentine's Day. Nearly every Giordano's I've ever been to is amazing, and I recommend them most definitely. This one is embarrassing. Reservations were for 8, and we got there right on time. Half the place was empty, and now I know why. Around 915, we get the waitress' attention (who was obviously busy with her whopping 2 tables) and she tells us that our "ticket was lost." The pizza was never made. She went to talk to the manager, and a little blame game ensued. Finally, the manager went and hid in the back while he sent the waitress to apologize over and over again. When I called to talk directly to the manager, he said he "doesn't even know what to say, except sorry." Again, every other Giordano's I've been to is phenomenal. This one is a train wreck. AVOID!

Dined in here once and the thin crust pizza which is suppose to take less time to make took forever. The waitress was rude and ignored us every time we tried to ask for the check. The next time we went for a pickup which was timely but the family appetizer platter was super salty. The deep dish was delicious and probably the only thing I would get here but I would pick up and not dine in.

Giordano's has become my go-to pizza place for out-of-town visitors. Though it's definitely not my personal favorite, it's a good intro to Chicago-style pizza. Of the 3 locations I've visited, this one is definitely my favorite. A small note for the budget-conscious/bargain-hunter: everything here is big enough to share for lunch- sandwiches and salads included. Favorite menu item: the greek salad. When I discovered it, I had to have it twice in the same week. So good.

Waaaay to expensive for what you get. I ordered a small cheese thin crust and a side of zucchini fritters (soggy and gross btw) with delivery & tip was $25. The pizza was pizza nothing special. I'll stick to Home Run Inn cheese singles from Jewel.

Deep Dish Pizza is amazing. It's the quintessential Chicago style pizza. One slice is filling and I've never wanted to eat more than two. The thin crust is good too and a better choice if you don't want a really filling meal. I should note that the large isn't that large, and if your just looking for quantity you may want to try somewhere else. I've ordered from this place many times and never had any problems. Its not the quickest place, but its worth the wait. The few times I've gone to eat at the restaurant it never seemed too crowded.

I've been living in Chicago for over four years and Giordano's is always delicious. This Roger's Park location seems to cater to the college students. They slice the pizza like the deep dish and I've always had it cut in squares. This was the least of my concerns because it doesn't taste like the ones on Belmont or Montrose. I ordered a large thin crust chicken pizza. It didn't have the same quality taste like Chicago pizza. Also, the crust seems to be more chewy than the other locations. I could be wrong but why should a Chicago pizza place cater to some non-Chicagoans. It doesn't make sense. If they don't like the pizza then maybe they should go to Pizza Hut or Domino's. Next time I might try the deep dish because they can't change the way they make it or I might try J.B. Alberto's on Morse.

Loved the deep dish pizza, the breaded mushrooms were pretty standard, the small deep dish pizza could feed 3 pretty easily, especially if you ordered an appetizer. The deep dish crust is really good, there is a wonderful amount of cheese and the sauce was very flavorful. I will be eating there again soon!

Yes, it's a chain restaurant. But it still boasts one of the best stuffed pizzas in Chicago, second only to Art of Pizza in my experience. The crust is flaky and delicious. The 'za is chock-full of cheese, sauce and the toppings of your choice (usually pepperoni in my case--I'm a pizza simpleton, but I've also found that if you make it too fancy, e.g. adding peppers or other moisture-filled veggies, the crust tends to get soggy). I've also tried their thin-crust pizza, and it is similarly excellent. For you romantics out there, on Valentine's Day one year, they made the pie in the shape of a heart. ;) I recently branched out and tried their sandwiches, both the chicken-bacon-ranch and the Philly cheesesteak. Both were adequate, as were the fries. The Philly was very cheesy (provolone, not Cheez Whiz like a real Philly), and full of mushrooms and peppers. The beef was thinly sliced but a little dry. I also tried the chocolate cake for dessert, and it was heavenly. Delivery does usually take an hour for stuffed or thin-crust pizza, and slightly less for sandwiches. A great place to get a bite and scratch your stuffed pizza itch.

I love this place, partly because it was my first pizza place in Chicago...when I was a young student at Loyola, this was my pizza delivery place! They still deliver the hot, gooey, cheesy goodness that I remember! I love it! I recommend the stuffed crust...pepperoni is a good bet, but the spinach is good too. The cheese is what makes this pizza so appealing to me...I feel like they use good cheese! Typical "Chicago" pizza, a chain, but still good when you're hungering for a thick, cheesy pie!

Uuuurgh, like everyone else on here I'll start out and say the same thing. This location is expensive and the manager is an asshole! Will NEVER go back! I ordered a medium deep dish spinach and garlic pizza and a house salad. The order came to $35.00. With tip, let's say $5 bucks, I would have spent $40.00 bucks on a pizza and house salad (no fancy stuff in it). WTF? OK, whatever, it was a special night so I didn't care as much until things started getting really bad and went down hill from there. (Oh, I knew I should have just went out for sushi...) After waiting over an hour for my order, some weirdo finally shows up. I call him this because he looked like a sleazebag from a Vice City game. He was wearing a fully unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt, with his disgusting fat, hairy gut sticking out. His comb-over was windblown the wrong way. He handed me my pizza only. I asked him where my salad was and he told me that I didn't order a salad. I told him my card was charged $35.00 bucks and I'm sure it wasn't just for pizza. He looked at the receipt on the box and said that there was NO salad on there. Then I took it from him and it was clearly marked "LARGE HOUSE SALAD" on there. Then he starts rambling on about how someone else must have taken the salad away from him or his car or something. He left and I was there holding the pizza. I didn't sign for anything. So I called Giordano's and told the girl who answers the phone that I didn't get my salad and the driver left and that I'd like it taken off of my bill. She puts me on hold and the next person I hear is the manager talking to me in a Russian type accent. He sounds like a jerk and tells me that they can have another salad out by me in 15 minutes! I tell him to forget about it because my pizza will get cold. I was bummed because I really like pizza and salad together but I didn't want it to ruin my night. Well, I was wrong. Halfway after the first slice I didn't notice any garlic. I didn't smell it. There was no garlic aftertaste in my mouth. I confirmed this with my husband who didn't notice these things either. I got really really angry at this point. I called up the douchebags (minus the girl she was nice) at Giordano's and demanded my money back for not getting my two simple ingredients right. After being put on hold several times, the poor phone girl had to be the third person and talk to me because the sleazebag manager didn't want to. She/He told me that the workers there have been there for many years and that they never mess up an order, and that there IS garlic on your pizza, you just can't see it sometimes. Riiiiiiiight. I started shouting at the girl even though I told her it was directed at her boss. I told her that there is NO garlic on my pizza! That humans make mistakes like the missing salad. And I want a refund, and if they don't believe me then they can come pick up the uneaten parts of it! She said that they weren't going to come pick it up but they can offer me a discount the next time I ordered from there. WTF? I told her that I will NEVER order from them again and that she needs take the $2.50 they charge for garlic OFF of my bill. She did this. But after this whole ordeal I told her that their customer service is horrible. How do you expect people to go back to eat your expensive shitty pizza when you can't offer a refund because you don't believe the customer. From the start they F'ed up but made it seem like it was somehow my fault. She did offer a new pizza and a salad but I would have had to wait another 90 minutes plus I'm sure it would have had semen or snot in it. I guess it is my fault for ordering from them. Also, unless you pay with cash they keep your credit card on file so you have no way of winning in the end.

OMG! This pizza is absolutely amazing!!! I still remember the first day I had it, and oh it was sooo good! Deep-dish, stuffed crust, with sauce on top of the cheese!!! I've never in my life had seen anything like it. It was so pretty I took a picture of it and didn't want to eat it. I've done carry out as well as dine-in quite a bit. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. Great place to hang out with friends (hoping you have some). I'm personally a fan of the stuffed crust with pineapple in which I eat w/ a fork and knife (even though some ppl make fun of me for it). The wait time is a little bit longer compared to ordering a regular pizza, but the wait is well worth it! Everyone I've eaten there with just dies and goes to heaven...it's that good! Pizza lovers this is a place for you!

Moving from LA to Chicago, you really can't get more cliche than renting an apartment on top of a Giordano's. Except when the owner of said Giordano's is also your landlord. Being in such a cliched position, having the cooks fix broken pipes and blown fuses, paying rent to the servers every month, I deal with the waitstaff all the time. Perhaps too often. This Giordano's is owned by a very honest, friendly Greek family, and the staff is really nice too. (and if anyone watches The Wire, the owner looks scarily similar to The Greek and I kind of love that). I mean, they aren't always trying to befriend you, but they are courteous and get the job done. A couple of them are rather sarcastic and clearly view their job with a little bit of irony, and I respect that. In terms of food, it's all tasty as long as you don't do pick up and let the hot food sit in the warmer. It hurts to think about how many tasty pizzas have been ruined by this terrible warmer. Instant sog. Instant moist. Instant gross. As a rule of thumb, arrive five minutes before they tell you to pick up, and you can save yourself from the tragedy of a soggy, once-delicious stuffed pizza. It always seems to be ready by then anyways. Their salads are surprisingly delicious, even if they use boring lettuce, and the sandwiches are quite nice also. P.S. They randomly have uncontrollably delicious fries, and for a giant styrofoam box of golden, crunchy and soft fries, it's 2.79. Win Win

A friend and I recently had dinner [spinach appetizer & pizza] at this restaurant. The food was good and the waiter was pleasant. However, when it came time to pay the bill we offered our credit cards and asked to have the bill divided in half. The waiter said, "No, we can only do that if the bill is $100.00 or more." My friend and I looked at each other in utter disbelief! We have been to literally hundreds of Chicago restaurants and Giordano's on Sheridan was the FIRST to refuse to divide our bill and accept our credit cards! UNBELIEVABLE! When was it that the management of Giordano's on Sheridan made a conscious decision to inconvenience their customers? Food: 4 stars. Customer treatment: 1 star. BOTTOM LINE: We won't be back.

I work not too far from Giordano's and when the office staff gets hungry, we know where to order! We usually get the deep dish with pepperoni and spinach. It certainly is a crowd pleaser. Delivery takes about 40 minutes, but no one complains. The quality is top notch, and the service has always been good.

I've eaten at this location A LOT and have never had a problem. Although the place seems to be run by Loyola students they do manage to get the job done and the pizza itself is good, too. Personally I'm a fan of the thin crust but will wait the 40 mins if friends are in town who have not experienced Chicago style deep dish pizza. If you call in your order always tell them you have a coupon for $2 off, even if you don't, since that is their standard discount. Don't worry they won't ask you for your coupon. One more thing, if you are driving you may as well just forget about it. There is no parking here unless you can find a spot on Sheridan (ha!) or find a side street that isn't sticker parking. Better just to walk. It's still worth it!

since i am from the ny/nj area, i am very biased to regular crust pizza. however, giordanos in rogers park had delicious deep dish pizza. one slice was already very filling for me. the sauce was perfect and the cheese inside of the pizza was so delicious. there is an ungodly amount of cheese, but thats what chicago pizza is right? i would recommend this place. however, i would ask the locals to see which one is better because i am pretty sure there are much better deep dish pizzerias in the area.

I am not going to debate the goodness of the pizza, because I do usually love this pizza. However, I recently went to this location to have eat-in instead of just ordering, and I was very disappointed. I ordered a Greek salad, one of my boys ordered spaghetti. The Greek salad had black olives (? never have I seen black olives in a Greek salad) and anchovies. The lettuce was brown and the banana pepper pieces were the hard ends. There were also bell peppers? I'm not sure why. The spaghetti had something in it, like nutmeg? and it was unpalatable, As for the restaurant itself, the lighting was bright and there was a large flat screen with 'wheel of fortune' on. The service was VERY slow, even though it was not busy. If you like Giordano's pizza, don't ruin it by going in this one.

They are overpriced and have mediocre food for what you're expecting to get. The sitting area is extremely cramped and the staff are not very pleasant. There are plenty of better restaurants in this neighborhood.

Ok, I wasn't sure how many stars to pick. So I picked 3 just to stay right in the middle. I've been to this location many times because it is so convenient to my apartment. Every time I dine IN the restaurant things are very good. The food is great and the service is fantastic. HOWEVER, I've done carry out and delivery with them VERY recently and I have to say the service I received was well below par. I felt a definite attitude on the phone (how do I know you have caller i.d. and have my phone number? All I asked was, "do you need my number? Because you'll need to call for me to come down and pick up the food"). I could go on further here, but I don't want to sound like I'm harping. Working in retail myself I know good customer service, they did NOT have good customer service.

Obviously one of the best pizza places in Chicago. The main bonus of this Giordanos is that even though stuffed pizza takes FOREVER to cook, they do get to you FAST! Their wings aren't so bad either. Please order from here - it's much more convenience!

The Giordano's restaurants always have the best pizza in Chicago, and this one is no exception. Good service, although it always takes a long time to make the pizza, and that can be annoying if you're starved - in which case, I recommend the breaded zuchini sticks, or the cheese ones. The downside would be finding a parking spot around those parts, especially saturday night, so be prepared for a few drives around the block.

I order from here constantly, I think that I get stuck in a pizza rut with certain places. This is the place to go for stuffed crust pizza, the crust is sooooooooo tasty and there is always the perfect sauce to topping to cheese ratio. Don't know if I'd ever go the pasta route but definitely worth it for the pizza. Delivery usually takes an hour but it is totally worth the wait and the pizza always arrives hot.

Best pizza in any restaurant, anywhere. Period. There are places that come close but none that have been better. As for service, service could be better. I've sat there with an empty water glass for over 20 minutes, but they get busy, and that happens. I'd still come here even if the service was horrible. I'd just tip less.

  • Parris N.

Giordano's is my favorite pizza, although I haven't tried Great Lakes yet. The crust is nice and crunchy but not too dry, and the sauce has just enough tomato flavor. I've had both thin-crust and stuffed and liked them both, though I prefer stuffed. I always get carryout or delivery so I can't speak for the service. Delivery is pretty timely, depending on how busy they are.

  • Iris H.

Eh. Over-rated. Pretentious college girls working the pick up counter, nice manager though. I recommend the thin crust veggie. The stuffed is a sloppy mess of gooey, cheesey, bland tomato sauced soup. Certainly not a Chicago tradition.

Father and Son is my number one love, but this place is okay too. I used to have a friend that lived up here and I'd eat here all the time. The first time I ever tried brocolli on a pizza, it was here. And it was really fucking good.

  • Earl W.

Great stuffed pizza - among Chicago's best. I've heard the different Giordano's' vary in quality but this one is delicious, the tomato sauce in particular tastes especially fresh and the combination of cheeses is perfect. If you live in or near Rogers Park, skip the trip downtown for pizza and eat here.

I love their spinach deep dish pizza! It was weird though, cause there were about 12 people working, and I was the only one in the restaurant, so they seemed over-zealous.

I had not ordered from Giordanos in about a year because 4 out of 4 times I did the orders were wrong, food was forgot or I would have to call after 2 hours to find out where my food was to then have it delivered cold. That was at the 6836 n. sheridan rd. chicago,il 60626 location. I now live in Evanston, il and have placed two orders with the Giordanos at 500 Davis st. evanston,il to once again have things forgotten from both of my orders. This time they forgot chicken caesar salad, my side salad and I received no bread. I called them and after a little while they brought back the salads, never did get any bread. The funny thing is that people I have met up here have warned me not to order from Giordanos because they always mess the orders up. I contacted their HQ and they said they would send me a coupon for a free meal and they never did. Go there to eat do not order delivery

I am shocked to read bad reviews on this place. I have eaten-in here, gotten deliveries, ordered for pick up and even done their dry ice ship-me-a-pizza because I need Gio's NOW! (and the shipping for it is more than the actual pizza, so lets just say it is THAT good) and each time it has been amazing (not the same with the shipped pizza, but still oh so yummy). Yes, this place is definately all about the pizza, the deep dish to be so exact and they do the best Chicago Style pizza anywhere. There other dishes are good, but I always choose the place for the pizza, and now that I have moved to California, Giordano's pizza is in the top 5 things I miss most and in the top places to go when I go back to visit. No, the cashier/waiters aren't always all that, but I have received worse service and most expensive checks elsewhere. And I love that at least they serve you the first slice when you eat-in. Also, I like to order right before I leave the house so I never wait the 45 minutes the say, and they usually get done before then anyways. I have never had to wait for seating and they have a bar. Real deep dish and a beer? C'mon.

  • Greg K.

First deep dish I ever had. It was a good way to get started, and I will take all my New York friends here as their introduction to deep dish as well. Service was slow, but congenial. It's not a bummer if you go with that in mind and are not starving. Plan ahead and order a few pitchers, so by the time the pie comes out you're in the perfect mood.

My friends and I came on a Monday night, so it wasn't busy at all and the food was served at a very reasonable time after ordering. We ordered The Special stuffed pizza and the BBQ Chicken Lover on thin crust. Both were delicious but nothing special. It was my first time there and after hearing about Giordanos and reading the reviews, I set my standards maybe a little too high. This being a gourmet pizza place, the prices are quite high, but I didn't mind paying for the experience.

Delicious pizza and wonderful service. This place was so good that my mom and I came here twice during our visit to Chicago. The first time we came, we ordered the thin crust super veggie pizza. We didn't have to wait too long and it tasted so good. The second time we came, we ordered the cheese stuffed pizza. It was absolutely scrumptious (although I would ask for less cheese next time), but we had to wait 45 minutes. Big mistake when you're famished! I would suggest calling ahead or starting with an appetizer. I have to say though, it was just as delicious as Lou Malnati's, yet with a slightly different crust. I was very pleased with the service both times. Our waiters couldn't have been nicer. Plus, we were seated immediately. I think this location must be off the beaten path, and therefore does not get as busy. My only complaint is the prices. I think paying almost $20 for a small, veggie deep dish is pretty outrageous. I know they boast having more ingredients, but give me a break. If you want to stuff yourself with some delicious deep dish and don't mind the price or the wait, come to Giordano's.

This was my first time ordering from or eating at this location. We had one in Evanston but apparently it's closed now which is disappointing. Went ahead and ordered from here and I'm regretting that decision. Ordered a bbq chicken pizza which is very underwhelming with way too much bbq sauce. I also ordered the garlic parmesan fries which was supposed to come with ranch and that was missing. Some things just don't feel right eating without the condiment it was supposed to come with. For the price of their pizzas they should be more than ok. Not sure if I'll be ordering from here again. Prob wait till I can go pick the food up or dine in at their other locations.

One of the better deep dish pizzas in the area. I swear it is better than at other Giordano's locations! Appetizers leave something to be desired, but pizza is great! Recently tried their eggplant parm dish family style. It was pretty good, and for around $20 we got enough food for five people easy. We had leftovers for a few meals the next couple of days--it was a great deal!

Pizza is 4/5, atmosphere is what you'd expect from a place like this, waiter I had was great 5/5, price is on the high side for most items, especially pizza, drink prices are about average. Got served timely and enjoyed my visit.

People are a little too sensitive if having to wait for a server is their only problem with this place. There were only three other tables when my boyfriend and I arrived and we were sat right away. We didn't even look at the menu, except I wanted a mixed drink so I glanced over that section. Our waiter immediately came over and we ordered a stuffed cheese pizza. It arrived in exactly 40 minutes and it was PERFECT. PERFECT. PERFECT. PERFECT. Did I mention it was perfect? The cheese. The sauce. The crust. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. I'm from Texas and nothing compares to this pizza... We only get to choose between Papa John's or Domino's... Noooo!!!

I like Giordanos but this location we had a sub par deep dish pie. Overcooked and hard crust like it sat up under heat lamp or was otherwise just not prepared very well. Salad was pretty good. This is the second Giordanos lately where I've been underwhelmed. Maybe just a coincidence but expansion can do this sometimes. The atmosphere at this Rogers Park location was also very sparse and not up to G's normal level. Service I have to say was friendly and well timed. G's are opening a new location right down by me so I'll give that a chance. Caution flag.

Ordered a pizza and was really excited for it. Their timing was impeccable and very quick service. My only problem was the delivery guy. I have never dealt with someone more rude in my entire life. He extended the time he was waiting for to 20 minutes when in reality he had been waiting only 5. He was blaming me for getting a ticket from the police and gave me a lot of attitude on the phone while my boyfriend was going to pick up the pizza. I will not order again from this place due to their rudeness

I love giordanos.. Before coming in make sure you call in to order your food, unless you don't mind a 30+minutes waiting. Do not come here, if you super hungry. Unfortunately I made that mistake. The place is nice, I like the vibe. The waiters and waitress are really nice. I recommend this place! Go!

I live very close to this Giordano's so I eat here the most. I've been a fan of Giordano's since I first moved to Chicago in 2008 and I still think they have the best stuffed (deep dish) of all of the big chains. I like their new menu items including the orchard salad. I often split the salad with someone and then split the Special pizza. This location feels warmer and more inviting than most. I suppose this is because it's not in a very touristy area or a cheap strip mall. It's on a quiet corner in Rogers Park. It feels like a neighborhood pizza spot. The wait staff are mostly Loyola students and they're very nice and cheerful. I would caution anyone that with a gluten allergy that their "gluten free" menu consists of a choice of thin crust pizza or spaghetti. I live close so I'm sure I'll be back the next time I want some good pizza.

Their pizza is delicious! I just moved to the area and was excited to see a Giordano's down the street. I called to place an order for pick up. The person was very friendly when I told him that I wanted a small stuffed sausage and green pepper pizza. It took about 35 minutes. The pizza was very cheesy, which is perfect for me because I love cheese! I got full after eating 1 and 1/2 slice. I can't wait to try the thin crust and other items on the menu.

I've eaten at Giordano's on two separate occasions. Each time I wanted to dive into the deep dish pizza like Uncle Scrooge McDuck used to dive into his money bin. I can NEVER eat more than two slices (mostly because I always have to get an appetizer first). This is some seriously amazing pizza and if I ever find myself back in Chicago, I'm sure I will make a point to stop into one of their many locations. You should too!!

My guy and I went here on Friday night. The place was moderately busy, but with lots of open tables. We were seated in a booth, and then we waited. And waited. Five minutes, ten minutes... we were actively trying to catch a staffer's eye or flag someone down, but no one seemed to be paying attention. This, despite there being a lot of servers milling around. Fifteen minutes in, a large party of ten or so came in, was seated at a table RIGHT next to our booth, and was immediately served. We hadn't even been offered water or checked on once. We got up in disgust and left. One of the other servers actually chirped "Have a great night!" as we walked out the door. Well, we walked down the street to Leona's and had a very nice meal with attentive service. Seating your customers and then remembering they exist: not exactly rocket science.

I have been here many many times. Pizza is very good. Drinks are OK. Service seems to be delivered with very little urgency, but not awful. Please bring back the anti pasto salad! It was my favorite item on the planet and you took it from me!!!! Otherwise, pretty good pizza joint.

I went here for lunch a few weeks ago and we ordered the stuffed pizza, but they got the order wrong. On the bright side the waitress was extremely nice and they gave us a 10% discount on the bill. On the bright side, the pizza tasted excellent.

I really don't like leaving low ratings for a good place like this, but this was outrageous. We ordered pizza at 11pm. Granted, it was Christmas Eve but their online ordering system said they were OPEN and it would be 60-70 minutes for pizza. Those 70 minutes went by...and a lot more. We figured that with it being Christmas Eve and the only ones open, there must be a delay in delivery time and waited patiently. Fast forward to now...THREE HOURS & FIFTEEN MINUTES later; when we've tried to call they aren't answering their phone and their site is now listed as CLOSED. WTF?! If you weren't going to be processing an order for us because you were closing, at least have the DECENCY to call and tell us, especially since your system accepted our credit card payment!!! Then, at least, we could've gotten something else to eat instead of sitting around STARVING. How many other orders were paid for and never got past "preparation" stage in the order tracking system that you conveniently just left behind?? NOT HAPPY. :(

Yay! I'm a fan. Thin or thick crust, this Giordano's location consistently serves up some delicious pizza. Mainly I order online through their well organized, user-friendly website, and have also to applaud their friendly, polite, well dressed, neat and timely delivery people. I've only eaten a few times in-house with S. and sometimes her mom. The atmosphere is charmingly neat and old fashioned Disney movie pizza place, including red and white gingham printed table cloths and framed, old Chicago memorabilia. Kind of cliche.' Okay, truly cliche.' Servers always have been more than friendly and efficient enough (Erin is especially cheerful and charming). There is a smallish outdoor area on Sheridan though I've not had the pleasure. The beer is on tap and bottled, cold and reasonably priced and they serve at least one passable red wine. Their Caesar salad is pretty darned fresh and there is plenty for two adults. I admire their minestrone. S's mom adored their tira mi su. Though the pizza! It's the pizza that both thin crust and stuffed is very, very good and keeps me wanting and ordering more. Best as always, Peter O.

I recently went here with my girlfriend on a Saturday night (in the Summer) and we sat out on the patio. It's a really nice little spot to relax and have a drink and some pizza. The restaurant is a little older looking and it's not exactly the most glamorous spot on Sheridan Rd., but, it also wasn't super-crowded and we were served instantly with appetizers, drinks, and big glasses of water. The pizza was delicious and just as I remembered it and our server was super-nice and friendly. They had a couple of beers on draft too (Goose Island Green Line is what I ordered) and I think they were around $4.25 a pint, which I thought was pretty reasonable. All in all - if you're craving a little Chicago deep dish and in the area, I'd recommend this location for sure.

When the moon hits your eyes like a big pizza pieeeeeeeeeeee that's amore. Finally. I know what this song means. Because it is a big, fat, chunky thick 2 inch slab of pizza. In your face. And the small isn't that small. I could fit one slice in. That's it. I felt defeated. The crust on this pizza is amazing. I like how bready and crunchy some parts of it are. Then there's the toppings. I think there could be more sausage and bell peppers. But I do love cheese, and they do cake that on like cheese if free. Honestly, I have no deep dish pizzas to compare this to. The service was good and the pizza came out perfectly cooked.

Slipped through the cracks. I am a lazy reviewer. I just plain forgot. I do not know why. I have a horrible memory. There are too many pizza places in Chicago. I have no idea, am making no other excuses. Who knows why I never got around to reviewing Giordano's before now? Whatever the reason, they are a dependable, if not cheap, Chicago pizza chain. I know what I am getting each and every time I order from them. I never eat in, just pick up the phone and dial. My N&N love the thin crust. It hits the spot for both of these picky kids. The deep dish is a good value, will last for D-a-y-s until you are so sick of pizza you never want to eat it again. Never a problem but delivery can be a bit slow on busy nights. Nothing surprising!

Good pizza, get it to go. I had a giftcard for here so I decided to use to get myself a deep dish pizza to go. I know the time to takes for those pizzas to cook so I thought I would use this as an opportunity to see what the service is like incase I wanted to go here with friends from night. Simply put, that wont be happening. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and a beer while I was waiting. The dip came out luke warm on a pice of lettuce that was slightly wilted. The bread pieces that come with the dip were too thick to bite through and very dry. Overall a disappointing appetizer. The beer was passably cold. My server on the other hand made me feel like I was nothing but an annoyance and I was interrupting his TV show he was watching on the only tv in the place. So sorry to take you away from your precious Television. he did get the order correct, but I just did not feel welcome. I would get the pizza from here again, but I would not waste my time sitting in the place any longer than I have to.

Chicago is known for many things...one of these to deep dish pizza. If you travel to Chicago and do not indulge in this hallmark of the Chicago food scene, you have failed as a tourist. We have eaten pizza at at least a dozen local pizza places in Chicagoland area (Mr. is from Chicago and insists on hitting up at least one of these places during each trip.) this lady visit, we returned to Giordano's. We have, based in our extensive market research, decided this is the best example of Chicago deep dish pizza. First, deep dish is NOT pan pizza. It's deep dish, meaning a slice stands at at least 1.5 to 2 inches high. There is a lot of sauce. There are a lot of toppings. There is a lot of cheese. Whatever your toppings of choice may be, be prepared for a hearty slice of pizza. I am a little sized woman and one piece is plenty. My Chicago guy (who grew up on it) can usually manage 2-3 pieces. I tell you this in case you are wondering if you should "order up a size." We usually get the smallest size and ALWAYS end up taking at least 2-3 pieces home. It makes for awesome leftovers so no real harm is done. Order up some beer, face the TV to watch whatever Chicago team is playing and enjoy all that makes Chicago great.

Ahh Chicago Deep Dish. A good friend of mine always tells me that he doesn't consider it pizza. I totally understand that idea, especially after growing up in New York City. With that in mind: Firstly, the restaurant decor is your typical pizzeria restaurant. However, since this is a chain, it has a chainy Italian feel to it. It may not necessarily be best, but, it does the job. Secondly, you're talking to a die hard pizza fan. So, I'm going to be a little critic in this review. I got a sausage deep dish, and honestly, the pie seemed a little dry, overall. I would say it was definitely filling because I ate three slices and I could barely walking out of the restaurant, but, it seemed A-OK (just as my Yelp star rating says). Deep dish is an interesting concept, but, not exactly my favorite version of pizza. It is definitely filling though!

I was really surprised at the quality of the pizza sauce since this is a chain that is very popular. I ordered an extra thin crust pizza while a friend got a deep dish. Both of us found the sauce to be super water. Her way of enhancing it was dumping a bunch of pepper on it while I asked for ranch sauce. But to be fair, the extra thin crust was very crisp and thin though it wasn't super light. Between this chain and Lou Malnati's I would pick the latter. Or even if you're in the area and looking for pizza, walk the extra block to JB Alberto's. I got their BBQ chicken wing appetizers which was tasty. The wings were fried and then smothered in BBQ sauce and it was definitely the highlight of my meal though a tad expensive as a $10 appetizer. But overall this place is a bit pricey for mediocre pizza.

Things started off on the wrong foot for this location, but improved by the end of our experience. We have been in town for a week and planned to end the trip with a Chicago treat. Since we have Chicago style pizza places back in SF, I knew that I should place my order ahead to ensure that it would be ready for dinner. We had to drive up to Glenview before dinner, so we placed our order online at 4:30, ordering a stuffed pizza and a Cesar salad, for pick up at 6:30. We received the confirmation email that the order was received right away, but as we were in Glenview, we received another email at about 6:02 pm confirming our order again. Weird since I had placed it awhile ago. When we arrived at 6:28, my father went in to retrieve the pizza and was told that there had been a problem with the systems and our pizza wouldn't be ready for 30 minutes. WHUT? I went into the store and asked (kindly) for an explanation. They explained that the order went to corporate, but not to their store, and that they had just entered the order. That's nice, but I'm hungry. I asked them what they could do to remedy the situation. Angel, offered to remove the price of the salad from my order. I countered that they also deliver the pizza, since we were now inconvenienced because of the error on their part. He agreed and said that my refund would be on my card in 2-3 days. I'm happy to say that it was delivered promptly and was DELICIOUS!! Great customer service and I appreciate them working to fix the mistake.

I always get the vegetarian deep dish pizza and I absolutely love the filling. It has just the right amount of vegetables to cheese. I have been to this location once, it is a small comfy location however I never stayed to eat at the location. The crust is thicker than most deep dishes I have eaten at but it works with the heavy filling. This pizza just melts in your mouth!

Wow what happened to this place? As you can see with my reviews, I hardly give two stars. I am a pretty positive person no matter how bad the other reviews are. And Giordano's is known to the locals as being overrated and mostly tourists like this pizza or Chicago transplants, but we still liked them despite the hate. We have been going to this Giordano's location for quite some time but we were going so many times that we had to chill out. Two years later and I am so disappointed. Pizza slices are small and not the usual huge pieces that you expect for deep dish pizza. I wish I had a picture but we tried it one last time and the pizza was so flat that it was not a deep dish pizza at all, completely deflated dry crust. It was horrible. We are not one to throw food away so we ate it,and we called them to let them know we were completely not happy. They offered to make us a new one but we were not looking for a free hand out. The owner or manager looked strung out too when we told him in person about it and showed them the pizza. Looks like Giordano's is downsizing in quality and opening more locations instead which is bizarre. I should have been charged a thin crust pizza instead of deep dish. What a rip off. We are switching to Lou Malnati's. Bye bye Giordano's.

I love this place! The owner is really sweet and always wants to make sure everyone leaves happy and with full bellies. All the servers are fantastic. I've had a few different servers everytime I've been there and they're always super friendly! The pizza!!! Stuffed is the way to go. Tastes amazing and it's HUGE! The prices seem steep at first, then you see how much pizza you get and its totally worth every penny! I recommend spinach and bacon on every stuffed pizza!

I love Giordano's but will not step foot in this particular location (Sheridan and Morse) and we live only down the street from it. There is a younger male "manager" there in the evenings who is incredibly rude. He was very rude to my partner and I on our last visit there and when I asked for the contact info of the store manager to complain I was informed by the server that the store manager is this loser's father and was given an "oh well" look. Sad because we went there regularly. But every time we went there we watched the same manager just stand in the kitchen doorway "managing" I suppose by just watching his staff do their jobs and occasionally grabbing a bottle water from the cooler and then go back to his same spot in the kitchen doorway to drink his water. Never pitching in to help his staff or even talk to them. I guess a person can get really thirsty watching other people actually work. Alas, we would rather spend our hard earned cash somewhere else than contribute to the salary of someone's overgrown spoiled brat son. Do yourself a favor and go eat Chicago deep dish somewhere else!

Waited a few days to write this review after our horrendous experience. We were visiting from out of town and had waited months for deep dish. We usually go to Gino's East but didn't feel like venturing downtown. So we ordered online from this location for delivery to my brothers place (less than a mile from the store) figuring it would be faster. We were quoted an hour - typical time for a deep dish. After 1.5 hours and no pizza, we called to check on the status. The worker apologized and said our pizza was on the way and would be there in 5 minutes. Half hour later, still no food. We called again and asked to speak to the manager. He only wanted to give us $15 back on a $55 order. The food arrived minutes later. No apology from the driver. Salad was warm and wilted. Pizza was cold and had to be heated for awhile in the oven. The manager then proceeded to argue about comping our meal and then after a few minutes said he could give us $50 credit on next order. Really, he's arguing about $5 at this point? Needless to say, even with credit, would be hard pressed to order here again. Which is a shame, because the pizza was good even reheated.

This has become my go-to place. The salads are incredible. I always add a bit of salt and pepper to the dressings but once I do, they are dynamite. The northside italian beef is amazing. It's like a crusty little personal stuffed pizza, but packed with beef. Amazing with the au jus dip they give you, and ketchup. Real peasant food, but delicious. Staff is mostly young pretty college women. They all constantly flirt with me and ask me for my phone number every time I call, but I'm used to that. I'm REALLY good looking.

After going back to Giordano's a couple more times, I have to increase my rating from 3 stars to 4. The problems of food not being ready in a reasonable time have not happened again, and I have tried a couple more of their pizzas, and everything has been delicious. Given that they are about 3 blocks from my house, Giordano's is definitely my go-to pizza place.

The phone order staff needs work - the young, college-aged male working the evening of 2/27 told me he had 'no clue' about the price of our pizza and was dismissive when (politely) asked for an explanation of the tax -- which he initially over-charged. Hint to management: the pizza is pretty well-made, but it doesn't serve itself.

Generally quick and friendly service. The wait for pizza can be about an hour on a busy night but the apps and cocktails will keep you preoccupied. Prices are reasonable and the quality is always great. This is always my go-to place when I have out of town visitors.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
