I went to Gannon's this Saturday on the 4th of July to get a quick bite to eat and some cocktails before Fare Thee Well. There was only one staff member working in the front of the house and she was super friendly and attentive, even though there were a decent amount of people at Gannon's. I had a Bloody Mary, which was spiced perfectly and garnished with a lime. Check out my full review here: bloodymarytour.org/2015/… For my meal, I ordered the Wisconsin Burger, but subbed out the burger patty for grilled chicken. It was delicious! It was topped with 2 different types of cheeses, cheese curds, and this pepper relish, which all resulted in a tasty pub sandwich. The fries were good, too. The atmosphere of Gannon's is a homey, sports bar feel inside. There's a jukebox with a large variety of tunes (we found some Phish songs!), along with a patio where you can dine and drink outside. Prices were good- Absolut was on special or $4.50 so I got a double Bloody for only $9! That's a steal :) My sandwich was less than $10. They had a Saturday special for $5 wings-- this was a very tempting choice.

Went with a friend for an impromptu lunch date and was pretty happy with the experience. Parking available across the way in the paid lot is usually fairly open during off-hours, so you're good on that front. We arrived for lunch around 11:30 a.m. on a Saturday and the place was basically empty. Seated promptly, service a bit slow since it was just the bartender serving the entire place, so not his fault. Food was decent. The burger was good but the toppings I got were a bit underdone, not salty enough, etc. and I wished there had been more in terms of flavor. Some of the other burger combos looked much better so maybe it was just what I ordered. Tap domestics were cheap and the service picked up a bit after a waitress arrived to help the bartender out. I'd likely come back if in the area again, but I'm not going to seek Gannon's out as my go-to Irish pub.

Excellent burger and fries and on burger night, which is Monday I believe, it cannot be beat for $3.50. Good beer selection too. Comfortable, just divey enough, bar. Bartender was friendly. Check it out.

It's a good pub, they do everything right! Decent Beer List with even some 3 Floyd's.. Prices are very fair. Short & Sweet menu with apps and sandwiches/ I thought the grub was well above average especially for the price! Try the "Horseradish Burger" or the Chicken Sandwich and you won't be disappointed. Wings looked good too.. Service was good/ I'm pretty sure the owner and my only complaint is that it gets pretty loud in there, especially when an immature "Batchelorette Party" shows up ordering people around! get dat did

Skip Bad Apple across the street, the food is better here! You will be pleasantly surprised just how good the food is here! You can't go wrong with the chicken or steak sandwiches! Good atmosphere, good crowd and good managers. Great bar in a good neighborhood. Parking can be tough, especially when Lou Malnati's opens up down the street!

It's a nice little neighborhood bar with a beer garden in the back. Several TVs and music isn't too loud so you don't have to scream across the table to carry a convo. Came with a friend to try out their $5 all-you-can-eat wings which came in 3 flavors: buffalo, Jameson bbq, or sweet and spicy. The wings were evenly coated with the sauces but hoped they were marinated longer, but hey, its $5 and it's not bad! Sweet and spicy was the best in our opinion. Owner was super friendly. Give it a try.

Love stopping in here for a beer. Quiet and clean. Bartenders are always friendly. They also have some really good aps if you want to watch a game and have some food.

Went here after work one day and was not impressed. I wanted to get a drink and some food and was only able to achieve one of the two. I got completely forgotten about and neglected... One beer and that's it I probably could have walked out without paying and not been noticed. I'm sure others had great experiences here but I certainly did not.

Specials are good but when I asked the server to mix my wings with hot and BBQ he said the cook is alone and would be to much for him. What?! Throwing some BBQ and adding hot to a mixing bowl is to much. I'm working to hard for my money. Anyway. It's cool. The deal is good and beer ok so I gave it 3 stars...

Every Wednesday $5 all you can eat wings and they are delicious :) so worth the money! A must visit

Fun, little local watering hole. My husband's Cheers. Love the owners and staff. Yummy burgers, fish and chips and other apps. here and there. Guinness, Bells, etc. on tap. Strong mixed drinks . Simple, cheap, good times. A+.

Good place for a few drinks. The crowd can be a bit yuppiesh for my tastes, but the bar staff is nice and knowledgable. I've had some great conversations in his place with people I've just come across, but I've also been unable to have a conversation with friends I've met there due to the incredibly loud ambient sound. There's no booths, all hi-tops and stools, which wouldn't be an issue if it were so damn loud. I don't mind ruckus, but I also don't need to hear the couple next to me break-up and then consummate their reunion while I'm trying to catch up with an old friend. Also, the bet garden is right outside, and while I don't mind cigarette smoke if it's a constant, it seems to overtake an entire half of the restaurant every time someone comes in or out. The chipotle chicken sandwich I have developed quit the craving for. In fact a the food is really fresh and delicious. A cut above normal bar food.

Great neighborhood bar but with friendly staff, and its family owned, double plus. Great specials and a fun trivia night. Summer time allows for a underrated outdoor patio.

Incredibly rude service. On more than one occasion we were asked to move and were told that they were no longer serving beer outside. Without warning we were told we needed to get inside with our drinks. Forced us to give a credit card after multiple pitchers and food were ordered. Had to go to the bar several times to get any drinks refilled. Not my first time here but probably my last.

I did not mean to go to Gannon's.I attempted to visit a "cool" brewery across the street. Before I made it to the hostess, at 2pm on a Saturday mind you, she screams in my face "were at capacity!" And I am completely overwhelmed by the screaming yuppy douchebagery. I sprint across the street and find myself in Gannon's. Good affordable beer. Good food. Amazing fries coated in sea salt and 10 wings for $5! Keep your $8 half pints and screaming hostess, I'm going to Gannon's.

My cousin Nosheen just ended her favorite job, which was here! Right in the corner, this bar is busy with extra friendly, laid back bartenders that are very attentive and can small talk with you. Saw a mix crowd here, a group of guys, a group of guys and girls, parents with their college kids! It got busier as the night went on. The cook did a great job making our quesidillas. Fresh and tasty, what more can you ask for bar food? I know this bar is a popular stop in town and I can see why. This place makes you feel relaxed and comfortable and it's a good start to a night out. They have broken board games but a cool Jukebox and Darts, and seriously, we did all that because it's fun, especially after a few drinks.

This is the quintessential neighborhood pub. Somewhere you feel warm, safe, and always welcome. The most friendly patrons, awesome owner, and great wine, beee and food...what more could you ask for? And oh yeah, they show all Packers games. Done and done.

I've been to Gannon's for many occasions - dates, birthdays, trivia, food or just straight-up looking to get hammered - and I've never had a poor experience. After drinking at Gannon's only twice, nearly the entire staff took the time to learn my name and remember me. The drinks are cheap, the food is impressive and the workers are friendly. In the summer, their beer garden is ideal. The low-key, casual atmosphere is inviting and likely will bring you back in. Gannon's has become a go-to establishment for my friends and I. Their weekly deals rock and the surrounding North Center neighborhood is superb. Great place to bring friends and relax or get intoxicated - the pub can draw a crowd.

I was new to the area, and wanted to try Gannons with some friends. I chose it over competitors nearby like Wild Goose and Bad Apple. I was also excited to try the $5.00 all-you-can-eat wings special on Wednesday. When we went in, the bar was nearly empty with some obnoxious regulars who the bartender bought shots for. I also noticed the bartender was the only staff member working the front with no servers. My friend asked for a pint glass, which the bartender forgot focusing on the regulars, then when he got the pint glass, it was all wet and had to be dried off. The wings come in rounds of ten, but no plate for a disposal of bones was given. Wing orders also take a while and I was the only one who ordered wings during that time. Food was pretty tasty. French fries were way too crispy. I noticed many other patrons going to the other bars on the corner and these places like Wild Goose were packed. The bartender was a nice guy, but he seemed lost and clueless. Also played loud music to cater to the regulars. I don care how often regulars come in to help your business, a good manager needs to calm people down when new people walk out of the restaurant especially when he sees his place empty.

Guessing this place is better in friendlier weather, and I'm going to keep coming back. Mainly because the Monday night trivia is so solid. You can hear the announcer and people aren't a-holes about cheating or being noisy. It also doesn't take all night like some unfortunate trivia situations, nor does the announcer feel the need to try out his stand-up comedy material. Where it could sorely use improvement: 1) the food. My goodness...we've all had pub fare, but does it have to be lousy pub fare? The nachos are aiight, but the veggie burger was a struggle. Soft pretzels are good. That basically sums up the vegetarian options. and B) the service. when the tables are full, the server/bartender needs to visit more often, or perhaps they need an additional server. friendly but just too infrequent service.

I really wanted to give this place a crappy review because apparently they are a Packers bar? If that's the case, screw that. I haven't found any sort of confirmation of this though, besides one other Yelp review. The website mentions that they are a Michigan State bar. So maybe the Packers thing is not true and I'm just perpetuating the myth. I couldn't bring myself to give them a bad review based solely on a rumor. We actually went a few weeks ago for their Monday trivia night, and it was very fun. I much prefer Gannon's trivia to the slow-moving pace over at Celtic Crown's trivia. Seriously, it takes like 3+ hours for a game of trivia over there. Also, Celtic Crown is seriously impossible to win because there are some nationally ranked trivia teams that go there. Do I sound like a sore loser? YES, I AM A SORE LOSER. Anyway, if you are more of a "recreational" trivia person that doesn't aspire to actually be on Jeopardy, I think Gannon's Monday trivia would be more up your alley. It is pretty fast moving, there aren't a ton of teams, and your team may actually have a shot at winning. Plus, they have a decent selection of bottle and draft beers available, and there is usually at least SOMETHING decent on special. Mondays actually feature $4.00 Rogue and Bell's pints, and $5.00 grilled chipotle chicken sandwiches. Yes please. So yeah, four stars for Gannon's. We'll be back for trivia at some point!

Every bar is different, and there's a bar in this city for practically every crowd or feel. Gannon's is an excellent representation of North Center and Ravenswood: the atmosphere is laidback and low-key, void of any sort of I-just-graduated-from-college-and-I-just-want-PBR-and-Jager-bombs douche-baggery, but it's still sophisticated enough to offer a great selection of craft beers (or liquor if that's your deal). Our bartender....I think his name was Sean/Shawn, was lovely. Great sense of humor (and sense of service). It was trivia night and the crowd, once again, wasn't obnoxious like other trivia crowds. Wild Goose, across the street, seems to be where immature young adults drink their Budweiser and eat their wings. Bad Apple, also across the street, is a great bar but it's frequently crowded and easily intimidating. Gannon's is the perfect solution if you're craving lovely options and a no hassle, comfortable pub vibe.

I liked the atmosphere here. It's small and quaint, nothing fancy. Just a good ole neighborhood bar. They had a decent selection of beers on tap. I also noticed an array of daily deals. Being a fan of deals, this pleases me for future visits of course. I had a horseradish burger and it really didn't do it for me. The fries were awful...cold, undercooked and just gross. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that this was an isolated incident. My friend really enjoyed her mac and cheese. Overall, I'd go back but there really isn't anything here to draw me in other than I noticed a $5 wing deal that I'd be interested in checking out. It has beer, seats, and low lighting...works for me!

Nice local joint with some great food specials. Diverse, older crowd makes the environment safe and welcoming enough - unpretentious, undouchie. Cute, hidden back patio and their handcut fries are the standouts here. The nachos were the only thing I wasn't impressed with here so far.

I'm in love with Gannon's. I'm 24, and love love love going there. Variety of music, great bar tenders, amazing owner, and always a good time. I always say "I'll just pre-game at Gannon's" but end up spending my entire night there!!

I just checked this place out a few weeks ago for Wing Wednesday.....This is a great neighborhood spot with awesome service and affordable prices. I loved the bartenders, super friendly and very nice, overall. It's a casual, comfortable atmosphere and reminds me of the laid back bars in MI I used to go to. I got sort of a Cheers feeling from there.... They have really good specials throughout the week and I will definitely be coming here a lot more!

Went to Gannon's to watch my beloved Spartans play an exhilarating game of football, in which they wont 45 to 7. yeah it was northern Colorado or some random team, but a win is a win !! The place was EMPTY. The bartender was the only visible employee there though I am assuming there was a cook in back ! The bartender was really nice, changing the game to whatever TV we wanted, putting the sound on, and even bringing me a glass of soda water when I spilt chili on my scarf, of course it wasn't even mine !! Food was very reasonable priced, nothing spectacular but it did the job ! Tried the loaded fries and the nachos, fries were lacking flavor and the chips were a little stale, but again, cheap and there was bacon involved so I can't really complain !! Though they claim to be a Michigan State bar the lack of clientele and willingness of the staff to accommodate you makes this place great to watch any obscure game you may want to see !!! Also an option if your trying to grab a burger at Big Apple and need a drink to help ease the pain of the long wait time you will surly be given !

  • Daniel P.

This is my regular spot so I might be a little biased...but Gannons is great! They have excellent food and the drink specials are always fair. The staff are all really friendly and give the bar a nice neighborhood feel. They also have a great patio and are a great place to watch the game or just hang out. Super casual environment, and worth checking out. Also the Chipotle Chicken sandwich is amazing!

  • Eleni G.

They have great wings and you have to stop by for Wednesday's All You Can Eat Special - only $5!! Be patient, though, because it's a smaller place and there may only be a couple of bartenders working all night. Good draft selection as well, reasonably priced and plenty of Half Acre brews available - brewery is right across the street. The staff is very friendly as well and you can tell that they care about the patrons.

Came here again to watch the Hawks' Conference game against the Canucks. My friend was already here drinking when I showed up and it's 'his' bar as he puts it. I had a Half Acre and sat at a small table. THe bartender came around every once in a while to check up on the almost full place, taking away food plates and empties and still managing to get behind the bar in a flash. The special that day was 1.75 mini burgers. I ordered them with cheese and got a plate of four. They were simple burgers with a little pickle in them but the taste was fabulous. My friend said it was because the patties were fresh, not frozen. I liked them enough that I ordered another 4. The service was great and great food deals. I don't know why I don't come by more often.

A good selection of beers on tap is all I can say about Gannon's. I guess that's all I need to say about Gannon's because that's just what we needed.

    (1) Are you a Packers fan? (2) Need a place to watch the game without the local sports lay-z-boy heroes getting in your way? If you've answered yes to both of the above, then Gannon's is a safe bet. There's nothing special about this place, as far as I could tell, but they commit a few tv's to Green Bay games, there's a friendly, loyal, green&gold jerseyed following stooled up, service is fast, and the macros are cheap. You'll still run into the mandatory belligerent Bears fans, but at least at Gannon's they've come to terms with Chicago's football mediocrity. In short, if you're stuck looking for a place showing a Packers game that's playing at the same time as a Bears game, Gannon's has you covered. It's Lincoln Park's unadvertised Packer bar, which brings up another point. It's refreshing that a tavern caters to an out-of-town crowd without blatantly selling out to it with the gimmick of storefront football flags. So why the 3 star rating? I'm trying to encourage them to have the drink & food variety and decorative creativity of their neighbor, Bad Apple.

  • Bridget K.

I have enjoyed my experiences at Gannon's. The bar isn't too loud or too quite either, most of the time. Like a previous review said Gannon's might be a Michigan State bar, the staff at the bar will put on whatever game you want on the tv's. I usually go to Gannon's on Monday nights for the Free Trivia (which is canceled when the Bears are on Monday Night Football). The game is competitive and is challenging. I like the fact that the bar is smaller, which means when people turn in answers we are able to move onto the next question. The prices for food and drinks at Gannon's is very reasonable.

It was a dark, cold and rainy October night and my co-workers and I wanted some after work drinks. Our regular hang out was already closed so we needed an open bar and we needed it fast. We cruised east down Cullom Avenue looking for something that was open and to our surprise Gannon's Pub was. The bar was empty except for one patron and the bartender. We didn't care so all six of us bellied up to the bar and ordered drinks. We ordered Stella's, Bloody's and Amaretto Sours. The beer was cold, the Bloody spicy and the Sours were...well sour. The barkeep was welcoming and warm and he even dealt with our very eclectic mix of music we put on the old jukebox. Gannon's is an overall good neighborhood bar and it is even open late. Whenever your local hang out is closed and you need a quick fix I'd suggest you head over to Gannon's, they'll be open.

I have been going here for Friday night fish and chips and it is delicious. Of course it is all you can eat and the price is reasonable at 7.95. This is a good neighborhood pub and the service is reliable. Gannon's is mostly high tables of 4, with 2 people sitting at them. I can't say it's great for groups, but if you are a small group you'll be fine. I'll definitely be back!

  • Laura C.

Casual neighborhood joint + outdoor patio + trivia = good Monday night. Nice selection of beers on tap, and quick service. Not overly crowded like some of the surrounding bars, you can actually have a conversation here. The beer special was a $3 PBR, so I stuck with the full price taps.

    (3)
  • Garrett G.

Went for the Michigan game. The food was good and there was a good Bells beer special. They were a bit understaffed so things were slow. With the emphasis on college football they should invest in bigger TV's. I had a good time.

This place is great! My boyfriend and I were wandering through the neighborhood looking for a new spot to watch Sunday football, so we decided to stop in on a random Wednesday night. The owner was so nice and was extremely welcoming! We had a few drinks and ordered some food; I ordered the house salad and added the blackened chicken- for some thing sooo simple, it was delicious! My boyfriend sampled the wings as it was $5 all you can eat wings. He didn't care for the sweet and spicy, but he loved the BBQ. He thinks they give Wild Goose a run for their money. The menu is well priced and has the standard bar fare. Drinks were good and also well priced. One tip- don't order the fried pickles- they slice them too thin and you basically end up with a basket if soggy deep fry. Needless to say we came back for Sunday football and it was great, they even put the Lions game on for me!

I can easily say best bar tender on Lincoln ave worked last night at Gannon's. Quiet, attentive (no other workers besides him). He was back and forth (behind bar, at the tables) and never looked cross or pretended not to notice you. I like subtly in my bar tenders and he was perfection. The place: dark, roomy, warm, inviting, open seating, outside patio for smokers - that is behind (aside) to the bar. Unisex bathroom, but I believe there had to single sex ones too. People seem to keep to themselves but not in a dangerous kind of way. I didn't look around too much so I won't go into appearance details.. But 5 bucks for two beers? Um, I'll be back tomorrow (no, not really, but seriously). Go to Gannon's.

In my quest to try every bar and restaurant along Lincoln Ave from Berteau to Lawrence I hit up Gannon's with some friends Saturday night. It definitely helped that my friend's bf used to bartend there, because he could recommend drinks. We ended up with a pint of Oberon each and shots of chocolate cake, both yum (although my body was not happy with me later.) It was a totally unpretentious neighborhood bar that is within stumbling distance to my apartment, so I'll definitely be back. Plus the bartender was pretty cute (bonus!)

Formerly known as Clancy's, I enjoyed stopping over here after a bite at the Bad Apple across the street. It is a comfortable bar with darts and Golden Tee (2011!) in the back. I would have liked Carlberg on draft as I seem to recall that Clancy's served it. The bartender is a younger guy who was very attentive and friendly. Too bad I never got his name.

Monday night trivia is great at Gannon's, hopefully it will not become crowded like so many other trivia places do once word gets out that they are good. The service is friendly but at the end of the night they seem to forget that you are there. The food is decent, typical bar food, maybe a bit better. It's a good local joint.

On a lovely spring evening, I met my fabulous dining companion at Gannon's for some conversation and a beer or two. Unfortunately they were out of mac and cheese....so staying with my cheese theme, I chose the grilled cheese and it was pretty solid. Their beers were not. At pubs, I like a larger selection of beers and sadly, Gannon's didn't have a whole lot to choose from. I think it would be a good place for groups to gather and have some beers or if you're just in the mood for some pub grub. I might return, but there are tons of places on Lincoln I need to try first.

Gannon's is our go-to casual bar in North Center. Great for a night when the food/drink/TV isn't of utmost importance; chatting with the people you're out with is. It's almost never packed and we can always get a table or a seat up at the bar. It's the kind of place that was open the day after the blizzard, serving the locals of a certain disposition who are awesome enough to stumble to the bar in 3 feet of snow. My friends and I are of that disposition. They've got some rotating taps of interest from Rogue, Half Acre, Lagunitas and others, and the digital juke box on the wall keeps things lively. Food is fine for pub fare, plus the servers are fun and attentive.

So we followed the Whaddaya Know free pub trivia to Gannon's on its inaugural night there a few Mondays back. While I have passed Gannon's a million times I had yet to venture in. A woman and eventually a man were working the bar and tables for food and drink and I presumed they were the owners. Really nice folks and very attentive without being overly so. The food was decent and my margarita well made. There is clearly a regular crew there and they were fun and inclusive albeit a bit loud. That's just how regular crews are though and again they were inclusive, which is nice. Since it was close to home I walked there. Parking in that area is fairly easy though.

Nice outdoor patio, good drinks and friendly service. 3 stars because I could not eat the hamburger I was served. The meat tasted bad and was very undercooked. I was comped a beer for this, although I feel they should have taken the burger off the bill. I would never eat here again, but would return for drinks.

I just realized I hadn't written my review for this place yet. Shame on me. Now it's time to remedy that. Came here for the third installment of the beer garden drinking series and to mingle with fellow yelpers I hadn't seen in a while. It was a great time minus the bugs that swarmed us at dusk. However, once the sun went down it was a terrific evening to be outside. I must admit, right here and now, that Gannon's has the best Tuesday special ever! $3.50 Stella & Blue Moon Pints - LOVE me some Belgium style goodness! $3.00 Hamburger w/ Fries - Thick juicy patty with all the fixings and their fries were pretty delicious too! I think I can fairly say a good time was had by all, myself included.

i like the smile that glows behind the bar. She is an angel of beer, blonde hair and calming eyes to soothe the daily beast which grow in us all...like a dork i forgot to ask her name, but she poured a mean half acre beer. ::sigh:: the $3 burger special on tuesday is a nice local thang. in the hood, in the city, in a mood to chill and enjoy the local flavor GP is a good destination spot. internet wired jukebox to summon sonic spirits of yesteryear to your celebration, and friendly transplants from the North(it is a Spartan bar).

  • Ellie F.

Went to celebrate a friend's birthday, and they picked it because of the smoking-allowed beer garden. It was fine, the bartenders were great! I love it when bartenders tell people trying to cut the order line "she was here first, I'll be right with you." I'm told one of the 'tenders was the owner, so kudos for that. Typical selection of any neighborhood-style bar, so I can't complain! They had a decent number of TVs playing the Hawks game; if you live in the area and need a venue for a sporting event it would probably do the trick. I saw an MSU flag, so I'm guessing if you're a Spartan you might find some classmates here on gameday? It's a bit farther than I usually go to find a pub, but easy enough to get to - a short walk from the brown line. And does the name make anyone else think of The Legend of Zelda?

  • Tina F.

I may be biased, because I live close by, but this is by far the best bar in the city. Plus, my friends and I have been frequenting this bar since I moved to Chicago in 2007. All of the bartenders are awesome and personable. Plus, it's owned by siblings, so it has a family-esque vibe to it. PIck a sport, any sport, and you can bet they'll put it on at least one of the TV's for you. It's a small space, so you can see most of the tvs from any spot in the place. If you're going to eat here, I HIGHLY reccommend the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. It's probably my favorite sandwich ever, and I've converted at least 4 people to Chipotle Chicken lovers as well. They've now added trivia on Monday nights, and it's done really well. The crowd wasn't obnoxious, and the winners get gift certificates to the bar. They occasionally have live music, generally for things like St. Patricks Day, but they try to do fun things for all of the holidays. I really can't say enough good things about this bar. It's a really chill environment where you can have a conversation with friends and still hear the awesome music they play. Seriously, go here. You won't be dissapointed.

I like Gannons alot. I usually go in here and the place is almost empty. I do my bar drinking on weekday nights pretty late. They are always willing to put on my favorite team on any of the tv's. They have decent weekday specials for the neighborhood. Decent selection on tap and it seems to change on a regular basis. The food is bar food. Everything is a little salty and a little greasy. But if you hit the specials it's not a bad deal. Like the 3 dolla burger or the 5 dolla all you can eat wings. I mean you can't really go wrong. I usually go up here for Hawks games that start after 8. It didn't get 5 stars from me because sometimes they have softball teams in there after a game and they occupy half of the bar and are usually douchebags. It's pretty much a yuppie dive bar. Decent food, decent drinks.

I've yet to see Gannon's as it really is. I think the way to see if a bar is really worth its salt is to experience it on a Friday or Saturday night. Nearly any bar will do at mid-afternoon on a weekday, as went our most recent visit here while we played hooky to watch the World Cup. Still, I think Gannon's is a place that will hold up to a weekend evening quite well. The bartenders are friendly, and they're quite capable of pouring a proper Guinness. You'd think that this would be a given at any Irish pub, but it's not nearly the case. Perhaps the nicest feature of this Irish place is its addition rooted in German drinking culture. I'm talking about the beer garden, of course. They've done really well with theirs, as it feels like a little secret drinking garden. People walking on the other side of the tall picket fence may wonder what's happening on the other side, but you and your friends are already well on your way to happiness.

Went here after a softball game over at the park with about 15 team members...even though the bartender was the only one working in the bar our drinks/food were rockin! He was super fast, really nice, and gave the stragglers at the end (including me) shots and free pitchers for hanging out so long (and probably, spending so much money!) Anyway, very friendly guy, defnitely great with the customer service, we all had a great time and the food was great, actually. We'll be going back, I'm sure!

Gannon's is slowly becoming one of my favorite neighborhood bars. It's nothing special. And that's what I like about it; it's just a solid place to get a drink (or five). The service is great. Well, the blonde, male bartender is great. (The rest of the waitstaff? Eh. Not bad.) We showed up on a breezy, early Fall afternoon looking to sit in the beer garden. It was closed, but the bartender offered to open it up for us. We told him we didn't want him to go to any trouble, but he insisted. He then waited on us, as well, even after we tried to come inside and serve ourselves since he was the only one manning the bar (and all this during the MSU game). The food is pretty decent, too. Skip the gorgonzola dip, but if you like salt as much as I do (I envy deer and their salt licks), the fried pickles are a must-have.

I go to Gannon's a lot and am stoked it's hockey season once more - good place to watch the game. Most of the week, it doesn't get too crowded, but on nights when the bar is full, the waitstaff can really hustle. People are friendly, specials are great. There's a front patio and a beer garden, which is great. The bathrooms are unisex, so I don't have to stand in a line of fifteen girls while my beer gets warm. P.S.: the second bathroom is down the hall, past the kitchen. Some people don't realize it's there.

We went here last night to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and had a great time. The two bartenders were very nice and quick with their service. And they had 2 guys playing live music - they were fantastic!! Unfortunately they didn't have their regular specials because of St. Patrick's Day, but we ordered wings anyway. I would definitely be back for their wing specials on Wednesday - I liked the sweet and sassy sauce and their bleu cheese was on-point. My cousin had a hamburger with fries and loved it and my husband had the chipolte-chicken sandwich and said it was ok - not very memorable, but he loved the fries. They also have a beer garden, although it wasn't open last night. This is a great little pub and I will definitely be back with nicer weather to try out the beer garden.

$3.50 for a burger and fry special I shouldn't expect much right? Well it could of been great...let me tell you. The bun was fresh and soft the meat look homemade not frozen the fries were seasoned right. So what went wrong? It was ice cold raw on one side crispy on the other, fries were as cold as a 3am McDonald dumpster fry. One poor waitress for the hole place who couldn't stop checking her laptop long enough to see that we where out of beer. What a shame place has charm and good prices.

At midnight on a weekend, I've walked past this place and been discouraged by the raucous crowd. This past Monday, the boyfriend and I were looking for a good pub food special. Gannon's had $4.50 sandwiches and $3.75 pints, and we figured a weekday couldn't be too busy. We were right. Besides the two of us, there were only five other people in the bar. For a tiny neighborhood bar, the liquor selection was at par with any larger bar in the area. With only a half-dozen beers on tap, many beer drinkers might be disappointed with the selection. Our bartender, although very nice, wasn't exactly attentive. We ordered a Gorgonzola dip, which was excellent, and had pulled pork sandwiches. With Smokin' Woody's and the Horseshoe bar so close by, I would rather pay more for a better pulled pork sandwich. When we received our sandwiches, I forgot to ask for another drink, but did ask for a side of ranch. The bartender disappeared into the kitchen, and came back a few minutes later chatting on her cell phone. While she was talking, I tried to get her attention to order another drink. She put the dressing down on the bar and walked off. She sat down on the customer side of the bar on her laptop, and didn't notice my drink was empty. By the time she came back, I was almost done eating, so I didn't bother having another. If a friend invited me to hang out at Gannon's, I would probably go back and grab some good food and a few beers, but I wasn't thrilled with the service. If I was going out, I'd rather grab a six-pack or a bottle of wine and head down the street to Smokin' Woodys.

Nice neighborhood spot. Decent food with a few different beers to try other than the typical Miller or Bud products. They have good daily specials, with trivia on Monday nights, and the people behind the bar are very nice. Great place to hang out, watch a game, and enjoy a few beers. It also seems lately they have been expanding on their craft brew options, which is a road I hope they keep heading down.

I've only been a couple times, but, I love this place! Appearance is standard neighborhood bar. Fairly small place. First time it was pretty quiet, so we sat at the bar. Shawn (Sean?) was behind the bar, and he was very polite and very attentive to us, even though we had never been in and it was obvious that the other people were regulars. He even recommended a drink based on what I was ordering, and it was delicious! Thanks for my new favorite martini! Noah showed up to work the bar a little later, and he was just as nice. Great music was playing all night, too. The next visit was to try dinner and to watch some football. It was crowded- most of the tables were taken, as were seats at the bar. But, we were able to get some seats. Shawn was there again, and even though he was by himself we didn't have to wait for drink orders, and he was back very soon to take our food order. I had the horseradish burger and fries- both were delicious!! And, he remembered my martini and served it even better than the last time. Service, food, drinks-- all 5 stars!

I find the lower star reviews puzzling because we've always found the service to be friendly, the food delicious and the bathrooms available. The bars further north on Lincoln always seemed crowded and noisy, so we ventured down to Gannon's (specifically to try the fish fry) a few months ago, and now we don't go anywhere else. They have different food and drink deals every night, a nice beer "garden" in back, and they even had a big TV outside for the cross-town classic. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because I'm sure some of you won't like the decor (but whatever). And If you like french fries you owe it to yourself to try Gannon's (and if you're not a purist, get the loaded fries)!

I have a hard time going here since there's this one guy who I've seen here on more than one occasion, and for the life of me, I can't figure out where I know him from. I realize that doesn't have anything to do with the establishment itself.... As far as bar food goes, I like the mini pulled pork sandwiches, and the hummus is pretty standardly good. My friend swears by chicken fingers wherever she goes, and she said they were a-ok as well. They have regular specials, food and drink on the cheap, and a nifty beer garden as well. I wish our weather was conducive to beer gardens year-round. I will second the service being a little slow and spotty, but it's usually with a smile.

4 stars for the all-U-can-stuff-yourself-with fish n' chips. Great Cod Almighty! 2 stars for the service. 1 star for having prices differ online and on actual menu. I realize that restaurants have to at times change menu items and prices. It happens. No big deal. But when you boast a "new spring 2008 menu" online, it would appear that your website and its contents are up to date in early May. Well, not in Gannon's case. On Friday I asked about the $3.50 Sierra Nevada special listed online. It apparently changed that very day to $4 Harps. Fine. Well, the $5.75 Fish n' Chips special listed on line was $7.75 in person. I did not see an "online discount" mentioned or offered to Gannon's online shoppers. I will give it to Gannon's though; the bartender/owner is very nice here. Either the server was overworked or would just plain disappear for long periods of time on end. And I don't really get my panties in a was over the whole price thing, but what it does for the establishment, be it a waffle house, bar, lizard brothel, or mule colony, is to set the standard of inconsistency. But, the fish 'n chips was quite good. Gannon's is an easy place to hang out. I might go back, but the whole Haley's Waitress thing tends to rub me the wrong way.

Every time I decide to meet up with my old friend Reilly we go to this Gannon's Pub down the street from his apartment. Since Reilly is a drunkard he's acquainted with the owner and that gets us a friendly greeting or two (ordinarily, bar and restaurant owners seat us near the back with "the help" - so thanks for being a good guy, Sean). Usually, I get a Buffalo Burger and it's good. Reilly gets fries. His girlfriend Erin sits there and eavesdrops on us as we talk trash about our paranoid friend Joe. Then, she takes pictures of us as we get drunk. Eventually those pictures pop up on Flickr, and one of my relatives calls me on Sunday and says, "You look really trashed in that picture on your friend's website, are you taking care of yourself?" No. I'm not. But thanks for asking, Aunt Connie.

Just an average bar with average food with loud yuppies. They seem to over serve some of the patrons I saw the night I went and there is nothing special about this place. The beer is expensive and the service sucked. A bar on Lincoln that can easily passed over.

  • Drew S.

I don't think I have too much to say about Gannon's. They have decent food at decent prices (with daily specials) and a moderate selection of beer. Almost no one else showed up around 7 on a Tuesday night so that was a little weird but Lincoln Square does tend towards an 8 o'clock bedtime on school nights. It should also be noted that Gannon's Pub is in no way affiliated with the popular video game villain..

ok, here goes. I like this place a lot and it's become my goto corner bar in North Center. I've come enough that I've met pretty much all the bartenders and the owner which is very nice. So, I'm a jukebox whore and they do have a good jukebox. Although though it's not great. I can find a lot of what I like but they dare to stray away from most mainstream stuff. You will have to do the supersearch and yes it'll cost ya. Oh, you can't use another credit to play your selection first. Sometimes good...sometimes bad :-( Nice outdoor patio and they do have darts and some suspect bowling game. They have a grand total of four tv's and and I think one of them is one of the old pre-millennium kind. (I can't remember now because usually when I leave I'm drunk) Ok, why it's not five stars. I've eaten here once and didn't like any of it. The nachos was a mess and whatever else we had was too. In fact I've read the reviews and realize that people eat here. I've been here a lot I must say and i RARELY see people eating in here. I'll give it a try again because I like this place. Ok, the service isn't great unless you are at the bar or if the bartenders aren't drunk. I don't mind drunk, but incoherent drunk is another thing - that's my job, you are serving me. Could barely get a beer out of the last bartender because she couldn't understand "I'd like a miller lite". Be aware it can get some of the overflow crowd from across the street at Wild Goose on nights in which they are crowded. I've come here by myself plenty of times and had a good time talking to random various people. You do get a nice mix of blue collar and locals and newbies to the hood here and they all mix well. Oh yeah...great drink specials.

Spent a completely chill, laid-back New Years Eve at Gannons, and I couldn't have been happier. While some of my friends spent $100+ per person for an open bar at some packed Lincoln Park location, I was able to easily find a table for the 4 of us (at 10:00!) who didn't want to do THAT and walked out only $30 lighter a piece (we paid for what we drank - novel idea). They even had a free champagne toast and party favors. My New Years experience was similar to the couple other times I've been to Gannons: cool pub vibe, decent service and a good crowd. Now I just need to try the menu, because everything sounds so tasty!

I am torn between 3 And 4 stars......hmmm.... I had the BBQ burger with mushrooms, onions and provolone. Very Good, fries, thin, hot speckled with spices yum! Had a local lager, made right down the street. (VERY good) The problems here are: This seems to be a local hang-out. On an uncrowded Sat eve, the bartender was more interested in hanging out with the people at the bar, then serving us. (food=good, service=bad)

We had our third installment of the beer garden drinking series here. The beer garden is larger than you'd expect and was more than able to accommodate the initial 25 Yelpers that had planned on being there. There was only one bartender, but she did a great job of fortifying us with $3.50 special Blue Moons and the like. The food menu is also pretty big and (nice to see) pretty inexpensive. I like the low key, neighborhood vibe of the place and I think it's a great addition to my ever revolving list of good bars.

Gannon's is a great neighborhood bar. They have good bar food and good specials. I like the selection of beers that they have, and my husband keeps eyeing the dart board. Gannon's also has a super secret, tiny, beer garden in the back which is a nice little touch in the summer. The crowd here is a little older, but that's a nice change from a party hard college scene. Service is great, and Sean, the owner, is there on weeknights. It's always a good sign when the owner introduces himself and talks to you about the 'hood. I appreciate that in a bar.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love me a laid-back, looks-divey-but-kinda-isn't bar but Gannon's ... eeeh. My hub and I needed to get out of the house, early evening on a Saturday. It was, admittedly, a little early for the 'bar scene' to start but at a low-key hangout, that shouldn't matter..am I right? Or am I right? It was pretty empty and.....dull. We shared the "big nacho special" and...boo. While we are somewhat of nacho snobs (the best nachos I have ever had being from Theo's Lakeside Tavern in Hightstown, NJ), these weren't even good. The only redeeming quality was a heavy mix of banana peppers and jalepenos. But the cheese was icky. And they skimped on the beans/chili mixture, which I imagine would have made them much better. We each had a beer, finished the nachos and bounced. The vibe was weird. (Remember JT Collins on Lincoln and Roscoe? I think these two experiences were identical only I don't know if I had the nachos there). It was just a weird little place. Eeeh.

Stopped in here before Mayfest a few weeks ago. They had a buy one get one free special on appetizers, how could I pass that up. Beer selection isn't all that but they did have the standards... Harp, Fat Tire... They have outdoor seating in the front and a great beer garden in the back. Service was really friendly but a touch slow when we finally wanted the check. Since the appetizers were buy one get one free I think my friends and I tried the entire menu. All of them were good, but nothing really stands out... well maybe the fried pickles.

thanks to all the reviewers who mentioned $3 burgers on tuesdays! looking for a cheap low key place within walking distance and gannon's was just that. my burger was slightly more than $3 ($4.50 to be exact) because i added avocado and cheddar. totally worth it. i finished every last bite of that tasty burger and every single one of the yummy fries, dipped in chipotle mayo. yep, i cleaned my plate... er, my basket.

Really don't want to make this place too popular, but here goes... Gannon's is chill. The bartenders are courteous, attentive, and look like you could carry on a great conversation if you were there alone. Beer selection is good of course. The appetizers and food never disappoint. Just thinking about their delicious fries and sauce has our mouths watering.

I've been to Gannon's on several occasions, and had take out too. I live right down the street so it's pretty convenient. I've tried all the burger places in walking distance of my house and Gannon's is by far my favorite! I always get the horseradish burger! It is amazing! So is the mac and cheese. I am a huge mac and cheese fan and Gannon's is good! The guy who's always working, I'm not sure if he's the owner or not, is always very friendly even though it appears he's the only one working the front of the house. I've never had a bad experience there and I love the patio!

Gannon's is a relatively small place, but I've always been able to find a table. It's a great place to grab a drink or burger with friends on a weeknight or to watch a game (I watched the Superbowl here with some friends.) They have some good food and drink specials during the week, which will keep me coming back since I live just a few blocks away. I like their food better than the Wild Goose (right across the street) and it's cheaper than the Bad Apple (also across the street) so it's kind of a happy medium.

If I were to own an Irish pub I'd want it to be just like Gannon's!! (ok maybe not exactly like it but somewhere in between) The service is spot on. The owner bought us a shot within 30 mins of being in the place. The Bartender who came in after the owner left bought us a drink as well. The food is good and any menu that offers fried pickles is okay by me. They aren't that good but to have the option is nice. The interior is well maintained and spot on. The wood work on the back bar is just right but the bar stools and table are horrible. So uncomfortable and don't go with the comfortable updated feel of the rest of the place. This is a great neighborhood place and has alot of potential to become an awesome regulars bar.

THis place is sweet. I was in town to visit some friends and family last weekend and we went on a bit of a bar crawl. I decided to search YELP for a local brewery and found one called half acre. We walked a few blocks to find the place however they were closed and do not sell to the public. We saw this place across the street and shot over there to check it out. Found out they serve this brewery on tap. It was pretty tasty and they made great Guiness Drins as well and the overall crowd was very fun and friendly. We had a great time and I will be back.

Great service, friendly bartenders and amazing food/drink specials. This place is the perfect neighborhood bar to just grab a drink or get wasted at. Tuesdays $3 burger night is an absolute must. Good beer and liquor selection too. If you're in the neighborhood, I highly recommend stopping by.

We went here a couple of times for our own little happy hour and when we've had friends in from out of town. Everyone always seems to enjoy themselves and the prices aren't too bad. (Just be sure to not order white russians here, as they have a tendency to be made Lebowski style with 2% milk, not to mention are overpriced for the afforementioned milk.) The owner is extremely nice, friendly and hospitable, and the interior is clean (including the bathrooms!). They have a few nice sized tvs to catch the local game and they have a pretty good selection of tunes on the jukebox. Be sure to check out their daily specials as they change often and are sometimes really awesome like buy one appetizer, get one free. Right on. Finally, they also have an outdoor seating area so you can bring little Fido along in the summer months.

Long time driver by, first time visitor last night. My friends were there so I felt the need to pop in, even though I couldn't do much drinking, as this bar is in my new hood. After all, I will be scouting bars in walking distance for the next couple of weeks. Bartender was very nice and the place is very chill and laidback, perfect for a night out with friends when you don't plan on getting crazy. Oh, and they have board games! Well, all I saw was Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble. But that's a start! There is also a beer garden, but it was already closed. I plan on making it back in the next month to check this out! I must make note of the fact that there was a group of obnoxious trixies screeching like heyeinas, which almost ruined my experience at this otherwise low-key bar. Hope they find their way back to John Barleycorn before my next visit!

gannon's is my cheers. you can find me there nearly every week. the owners are super nice and friendly, and they remember you. props for the daily specials and good selection of draft beer - including half acre. the pretzel appetizer is a must. i don't know what is in that mustard, but i dream about it. the back patio is actually pretty quaint - you would never know it abuts a jewel parking lot. the bottom line? this bar is a reliable place to chillax on a weeknight. attracts a nice crowd of people. if you're looking for a wild time, then take it to the goose across the street.

This is a great little chill bar. I would recommend it to anyone! Positives: The staff is very nice, they have a great burger, great fried pickles, nice little atmosphere for such a small place. Negatives: They need more beers on tap, the draft beers are a bit expensive, the tables seem weird to me (not enough of them?), the weird older Cubs fans that yell at the TV and drink Budweiser (get some taste buds and go home and hang out with your family!) This is the place I met my girlfriend at, so I can't dog it too much.

I really like Gannon's for it's simplicity. The drink menu isn't nearly as extensive as it's neighboring bars, but I'm not big on the crowds that those places draw either. I also like that I can go here and get just a regular cheese burger. Not with fancy "artsy" bread, not with an apple slice on it, or some cheese I have never heard of, just a regular cheese burger with the regular works! You will find about anything on the jukebox, some times they run an iPod behind the bar, usually have classic rock going. It is a sports bar, so with that said Sunday Bears games can fill this place up. The beer garden out back is really nice! The regulars are always friendly and seem to remember your face and will give a hello and a hand shake. I originally resorted here after eventually leaving the WG across the street when I kept having to fight with people just to get my seat back at the bar, usually the beer sitting there with a coaster over it is a good indication that maybe someone is still sitting there. Then you go to smoke and someone else is in your spot again. Well, this is NOT that kind of place. I guess it's just the older crowd that Gannons draws, but the people treat you nice and respect you.

$3.75 for a pint is not a good special. we're in a recession here people!!! a quarter savings is not enough to pique my interests. the apps are pretty dainty as well; tastier than a lot of bar grub... but portioned for anorexic children. the atmosphere is pretty chill, decent location, little beer garden. they've got some things goin' in here... and after poking my head into the wild goose across the way, i figured gannon's was the closest place to go to avoid an onslaught of douchebaggery.

Stumbled into Gannons looking for a place to watch the Packer game- so glad we did. Bar was great! We had awesome service- we were treated like we have coming there for years. The crowd that was there was a good group too -fun people, very friendly and welcoming. Good drink specials. Great place to spend a football Sunday! We will definitely be coming back.

The food wasn't terribly bad. The burger tasted good, but the garlic was a bit strong for my tastes on a burger. And that's coming from a guy that loves garlic mashed potatoes. The fries were really good though. The beer was decent priced. But this place is really brought down by the atmosphere, at least for my tastes. Seemed kind of like a hole in the wall, I'd be more into going here for drinks and a game than get food again.

a great place to grab a drink, throw some tunes on the jukebox, and catch up with friends. The food is really good too, The steak with blue cheese mashed potatoes is my personal favorite and I think it's only like 9 bucks. If you find yourself in northcenter and need to whet your whistle, this place should be on your short list.

if there is not a big sporting event this bar is usually pretty empty. its a medium size bar with seats at the bar and a few tables with the small table in the middle of the bar. i was there tonight for the Bulls game the bar tenders were really nice and friendly. they have specials but the only one i know is Wednesday is 5 dollar all you can eat Wings and 2.75 Miller light bottles. i would not go out of my way to go here but i go here every now and then because i work at the Jewel Right next to it

First time visit on New Year's Day. Staff (who happened to also be the owners) were very nice and low key. It's a small place, but the bar menu was inexpensive and delicious. Try the fish sandwich. They also have a nice spicy bloody mary mix and just enough flat screen tv's to keep the sports fans happy. I didn't get to check out the patio, but it sounds like the owners want to expand that area soon. They have Fat Tire, Blue Moon, Smithwicks, and Guiness on tap, as well as bottled beer.

BURGERS, BURGERS, BURGERS. SO Good!! I have never actually stayed in the bar but have gotten a few burgers to go when I visit friends in the neighborhood. Very good and worth the price. Tons of flat screen TVs everywhere and just a quaint little pub on the corner.

This place is like Cheer's...I come here once a month and even with such a reasonably low frequency I always get treated like a part of the family. immediately after walking in, I'm made at home. "Sit where'd you'd like...and while your choosing, what can I bring you?" A drink is ready and waiting shortly after arrival. The atmosphere is that of a great Irish bar, with no Irish heritage. The bar is vintage solid wood, the selection of drinks is rather good, prices are reasonable with a good drink and food special every night, the food is good (fries are hand cut), service is excellent and the crowd friendly...wha more could you ask for from your neighborhood bar? With so many impersonal bars with no character (ahem, the Wild Goose), why go anywhere else? This place has it all for your after work unwinding or friday night relaxing.....

Great burgers! I tried the horseradish burger & fries---I was pleasantly surprised, as there are so many neighborhood pubs that offer "average" food. This pub truly has great food, and reasonably priced drinks. Also, the bartender Tony was very personably & friendly---cool patrons as well. I highly recommend, and will probably be a regular.

Food and Monday night specials ($3.50 for sanwhiches) are a great bargain. Love the service, drink specials, and food is quite tasty for a bar. Only complaint is that there are days that I wish they had a waitress, but having only a bartender on some nights keeps the costs down. I enjoy my times there and will be back.

Yum. $3 burgers on Tuesday nights. Big juicy burgers, not skinny fake patties. Delish!

i love this place. with daily food specials (except saturday) the prices can't be beat. every monday my boyfriend and i have "date night" here, but we really just come for the $4.50 sandwich and fries. any time i go out of town, this is where i want to go the second i'm back in the city. the bartender / server Yona (i think that's her name) is always super friendly and speedy. i've never been disappointed. i recommend the buffalo chicken with boursin sandwich, my personal fave. my boyfriend is a fan of the chipotle chicken sandwich. also on mondays they have $2.50 any miller bottle. not bad. they also have a beer garden and 2 bathrooms (not designated mens/womens), which are always SUPER clean any time i'm there... always a bonus for us women.

I like this bar. It is small and comfortable. They have good daily specials and usually have good fries. (I went there tonight and their fries were a bit overcooked but I won't hold that against them since I have had the quality ones before.) They have pretty good food, overall. I also did not know that they had a back beer garden! I will have to check that out this summer.

A very relaxed crowd, good beer selection, friendly staff, and tasty food make this a fine watering hole. The $5 entree special on Sunday evenings cannot be beat for the lemon chicken or skirt steak. The burger really isn't my style, it kinda has a meatloaf taste which I'm not a fan of, but other than that, there's really nothing to complain about. If you're looking to go to a bar and be able to sit and talk with your friends over a few (dozen) drinks, then this is your place.

Went there last last night with the softball crew-about 12 people in total. Like every pub in this area, it was busy on a Thursday night in the summer, but our server took good care of us with friendly and fast service. I was on a liquid diet, so I didn't sample any of the food, but everything looked delicious. The great(but kind of small) beer garden in the back is a perfect place to relax and throw back a few drinks. Seems to be a popular place for Welles Park softball teams to congregate after games. I'm sure our team will be back.

This place serves some of the better bar food in Chicago. They even have veggie burgers, but they also serve lots of meat, such as bratwurst and breaded pork milanese. They have late-night pizza that looks decent as well. They have a nice variety of beers.

Reliable, friendly and a nice neighborhood atmosphere. Nothing fancy. Good bar food. Local softball and football teams come into drink. I doubt anyone lives further than a couple of blocks away. Great place to sit down and watch a Bears/Sox/Cubs/Bulls game.

Gannon's is basically where the good part of JT Collins went when it closed down a couple of years back. The owners are really, really nice (and generous!) and the bar regulars and staff are down to earth and friendly. This place isn't all that close to my house, but I visit regularly. The food is quite decent as well. Another good part about Gannon's is the "I just turned 21 look at me drinking!" crowd always seems to prefer wild goose across the street and so Gannon's is mercifully spared from their shenanigans. Yes, I just used the word "shenanigans" so I guess that makes me officially "old".

The owners are fabulous. It's a wonderful neighborhood bar where you can relax and feel like a "local" even if you don't live in this particular hood. It's an establishment that can be your sort of "Cheers". The food is excellent and the specials are great.

Good pint of Guinness here, and the fish and chips is pretty good on Fridays.

Great pub. Very low key, and very friendly. It is the perfect place to go and have a beer or two. The owners are incredibly friendly, and even remembered my name after only one visit. Their food is great, and a step above normal bar food. The cheap burgers on burger night are wonderful, and not cheap at all. For about $6, I can get a great burger, fries, and a beer. Their other food is great too. Chili is awesome, and the mac & cheese (never would of thought I would be ordering mac & cheese in a bar) is the best I have had in a while. Cheesy and spicy, but not over the top. I can't wait until summer to hang out on their patio.

Chill but boring. There are plenty of other places to go that have a little more character to it if you want a chill bar. Such a snoozefest.
