Found this spot around the corner from where I was staying in Chicago. I was only there for two days, but I got a smoothie from here both mornings! Staff was extremely helpful and accomodating in helping me make a decision. And the smoothies themselves - remarkable. The creamiest, smoothest and most flavorful I've ever gotten out. The River Nile, not too sweet, light and very energizing. That Brazil nut milk! I got the Protein Re-fill with cashew milk and it was delightfully sweet and so, so creamy. Filling and very satisfying. I wish I lived in Chicago so I could come here a try every other smoothie on the menu!

I am not aware of food items available here - not sure if it was true in the past, but it seems like they only do juices and smoothies now. I love this place! The people are so gentle and friendly. If I'm in a rush I can grab a premade bottle of juice knowing it's still freshly made. If I'm not, I can chat with the friendly employees while perusing the local hippie brochures & literature on the windowsill. I also appreciate the loyalty punch cards for my free juice at the end of the rainbow! I live next door so getting there is definitely not a problem, lol. #spoiled Only docking one star because I wish they had more green/lighter-on-the-fruit juices, as I try to keep the sweets to a minimum. They recently introduced one with kale, celery, lemon, etc. that is right up my alley! Would love to see more of that!

These guys have some great smoothies! The staff is super knowledgable and helpful, they even let me try a few samples before ordering. I have had several of their smoothies and have not been disappointed. They make everything fresh so it does take a few minutes but it is well worth the wait

Cutest hole in the wall located in the city! Currently I am sick and thought, hmm. No appetite but need to stay hydrated and get my nutrients in...so why not a juice bar?? And this place was the perfect call! Walked into a very small entrance that leads you to the counter with a very selected menu. Might I add that they had bob Marley playing in the background (don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing is gonna be alright). This song always lightens up my mood! Happy Friday indeed! Went with the river nile and I'm in love! So refreshing and great blend of flavors

The lady working in the back was a sweetheart and gave great recommendations. You have an open view of the kitchen and can tell they are very clean and the juices are amazing! Def recommend this place for a quick pick me up!

Amazing tasty healthy juice! Great service! Great vibe .... Would literally love to replace my morning coffee with a juice from here!!

Beautiful smoothies made by beautiful people. My fav is the Liquid Sunshine. Not usually in the neighborhood but I go out of my way to stop here when I can.

This is an amazing little hole in the wall place. They're a tad expensive but well worth the love they put into their smoothies and juices. The freshly squeezed carrot-orange juice with cayenne and ginger has an assertive spice that works well with the sweet juice. Check this place out. Your tastebuds will be happy, and your body will thank you.

Great smoothies. I really like the bioactive protein one. it's got great ingredients that i dont have at home when i make my morning smoothies like spirulina. The place isn't exactly appealing and has the smallest menu ever but if you are craving a healthy and delicious smoothie give it a try. They were out of some ingredients a few times which is why i left off a star.

Earth's Healing Cafe is my pharmacy. Wish I could afford to come here everyday. (Also, wish I could stop losing my punch cards). I'm not knocking the prices though. Anyone who has made a smoothie/juice of this caliber at home understands how expensive good produce can be, quantitatively speaking. The good news if you can't afford to buy a smoothie/juice everyday is, they sell moringa and maca root right there in the store. I even called the other week just to ask how much moringa to put in my own smoothie and the man I spoke with couldn't have been more helpful. I've never experienced anything but kindness in here and I'm quite confident they have a cure for everything tucked away in this small space.

Delicious smoothies and juices. If you are getting your smoothies from Jamba, you are basically eating sugar, albeit some from fruit. Not sure if Earths healing uses organic...for the price of their drinks I would hope so...but you will be doing yourself a favor healthwise. I can only splurge here once or twice a week, and have yet to try their prepared raw foods. Only negative is that they promote their healing herbs and their health/nutrition advice. I tried to get some advice from them about herbs to use and purchase for a particular issue. Took a bit of following up to get in touch with someone even though they were going to get right back to me. They finally did, and although they did have good advice, they didn't carry the herbs they recommended! Oh well. Overall a great addition to the neighborhood, balancing out the booze and bar food scene.

UPDATE... The same day I wrote the negative review, the owner contacted me through Yelp. I left my phone number and he called me to discuss my horrible customer service experience the day before with one of his employees. He was genuinely interested in what I had to say and seemed very sincere with his apology for my negative experience. I wish all business owners were receptive to feedback and just as concerned with the experience of their customers. I was planning to never return after my negative experience, but since my telephone conversation with the owner, I have returned to Earth Healing Cafe on 2 separate occasions. I am happy with the customer service I received and will definitely be a regular customer.

OMG YOU GUYS. I just had a smoothie with GREEN stuff in it! And it was DELICIOUS! (What?!). No more yogurt smoothies...this girl is a convert! I will definitely be back :)

How many times am I going to stand at their little counter and stare at all those delicious kryptonite blends they offer as if each time were the first time I've ordered?! Fresh, friendly, fill'n ma belly. This is my clinic, my Monsanto antidote.

My hubby and I go in every weekend for a smoothie. Hands down the BEST and most unique smoothies I've ever had, and they're all vegan. Don't let that turn you off...they use nut butters, dates, maca root, and all kinds of stuff to make the consistency of the smoothie thick without the yogurt. I've been served by the owner (Aki) and two different women and all were incredibly friendly. My favorite smoothie so far is Dark Maca and I've had about 8-10 kinds there. It's a tiny place (no seating) and they usually don't have any food, but totally worth stopping in and getting a smoothie or juice. They once had raw chocolate truffles that were AMAZING and I've been looking for them ever since. Also, stop in the shop next door for some amazing plants and house wares. The owner there is super friendly and helpful too.

Why did it take me so long to get in this place!? It's a small and unassuming little place but has a great selection of smoothies and juices. The smoothies are healthy and delicious and the staff was very helpful with both selecting smoothies and customizing them to taste. I have yet to find another smoothie spot in the city that even comes close to Earth's Healing Café. Prices are a tad bit on the high side, but when you see what goes into them you instantly feel better about it.

Found this amazing raw vegan smoothie and juice place off of Montrose. I was disappointed they stopped serving food for meals but was happy again when I tried one of their smoothies. Made of all raw vegan products the smoothie was filling and totally satisfied my sweet tooth I was fighting that day. The guy working the front was so chill and very helpful and friendly. I was watching the women get the food product ready right in front of me and they said they are having another location open up downtown where they will make all their juices right there in the building. I will absolutely be back to try another juice/smoothie.

My wife and I went here for the first time. Once we stepped inside I was immediately engulfed in the aroma of celery and it yelled "healthy"!!! I had the Jamaican smoothie and it was a Very good healthy GREAT TASTING smoothie! My wife had beet juice and it was soothing and refreshing! We didn't see a menu for the wraps or any food, that I saw in the Yelp pics, but it wasn't a deal breaker. We will return!!

I have only been here once and I got the strength of goddess entree to go. The price for the portion did not match up. The food was good and the service was friendly. I was in a rush so did not get a chance to check out the spices.

I've started going here every Friday and Saturday morning after a workout. I can't stop! It's such a great pick me up after a rough workout. The staff is super friendly and helpful and sometimes there are samples. I always see the same girl at the counter/making smoothies and she always remembers my name now which is nice. The smoothies are so delicious and everything tastes perfectly fresh. Try the Love and Light! If there are more than three or four people, sometimes the smoothies take a little longer because there's only one blender but it's worth the wait and it doesn't take any longer than a Starbucks and it's way healthier for you!!

Stuck in the area, feeling bad after a 2-week cleanse, I googled juice and found this place--5 minutes away! I walked in and--wow--just what the doctor ordered! The staff were super friendly and helpful. I explained my situation and they recommended a smoothie for me. Delicious and just what I needed! Also they were giving away free coconut meat (the whole coconut, drained of juice, because, yes, they juice their own coconuts)! Definitely will go out of my way to come back here!

I have been getting fresh juices from Earth's Healing Cafe for over a year and the quality of the product and their customer service has not changed. I am also big on cleanliness and was really pleased to see that everyone who works with the produce/food washes their hands after each interaction with people or money which can be loaded with bacteria from being handled by so many people. The juices and prepared food can be a bit pricey but they only use organic fruits and veggies. I figure the time and gas money I save by not going from store to store looking for specific organic ingredients to juice at home on my own is worth it.

It just seems a little overpriced. They do have good smoothies and unique recipes but I was expecting the prizes to be a bit more reasonable.

Husband and I, drive around and outside the city's random places, on saturdays. So on one of the finest saturday mornings, we came across this small, hidden space on earth - the healing cafe .. It is pretty cool, I say. ah! they have way too many interesting flavours. But you know what's the amazing bit about this place - They use 'date' instead of 'sugar' in the juices they make :-) Definitely a visit and more if you like it!

So I had been toying with the idea of doing a cleanse and I stumbled upon this place. I am really glad I did because their prices are really reasonable compared to other places that offer cleanses. The cleanses were sooooo good I thought I would suffer for three days without eating, but the juices really curbed my appetite and they tasted sooo good. I would definitely recommend them :)

I have my favorite smoothies, the dark maca and the Caribbean. I should broaden my horizons but I truly like these two drinks. The guys here are super super nice. God bless you! May your locations expand throughout Chicago and hopefully a tad more North :-). Lets drink to health, wealth and happiness.

I'm an omnivore with a strong passion for discovering culinary creativity: If I find food that is well-made and tastes good, I'm happy. I also confess that I particularly appreciate culinary creativity exercised under a lot of stringent conditions. The cooks at Earth's Healing Cafe are probably some of the most creative culinary professionals on the planet. The list of no-nos at Earth's Healing Cafe is about a mile long, so I'll just explain their guidelines: Their food is vegan (no animal products), raw, gluten-free, soy-free, GMO-free and organic. No agave, no nutritional yeast. If an organic ingredient isn't available, they substitute with another organic ingredient. No non-organics here! The Shop The term "cafe" is a bit of a misnomer, as there is no coffee served and no seating, making Earth's Healing Cafe a takeout-only establishment. You can, however, purchase beautiful hand-crafted greeting cards to go with your smoothie. The Food Simply outstanding. I'm not a smoothie fan, so I can't comment on those and am not much for juices, either. However, I did try their Digestive Support juice (celery, fennel, apple and ginger) when I had a tummy ache and it sorted things out right away. (Didn't taste too bad either.) I come here for the entrees. They only have a few on rotation and they don't have every item every day. So far I've tried The Strength of a Goddess, State of Mind and Osiris Rising. I've also enjoyed a few of their specials. Strength of a Goddess consists of a split avocado filled with mango-curry paste and topped with paprika and green onions and accompanied by a green salad. It is remarkably tasty and quite filling. State of Mind is a "pizza" made from a flax/sunflower seed crust, tomato sauce, nut cheese and vegetables. It is not only delicious, but quite crave-worthy. Osiris Rising is a nut paste packed into portobello mushroom. I don't quite remember the rest of the ingredients (the paste itself is green) but I remember enjoy the dish greatly, though my favorite dish is still the State of Mind pizza. The Service Very warm, friendly and and non-judgmental service from the staff here. The place is tiny, and juices/smoothies are made to order, so expect to wait a bit for drinks. Also, keep in mind that their food offerings change daily, so if you have your heart set on something, call ahead. They are always very happy to tell you what's in their cold case. The Prices Some Yelpers have complained about the prices and, indeed, the smoothies and juices can be a tad pricy, though I'd note that they are made from expensive ingredients and are typically prepared-to-order. The entrees, on the other hand, are pretty reasonable, ranging from 5.50 for a salad to $10.90 for a generous pizza slice. Final Recommendation If you're looking to try out raw vegan food, you can't go wrong with this joint.

So happy to see other good reviews! I have stopped in here a few times for a smoothie, and absolutely loved it both times. They make everything from scratch right before your very eyes! I can't say much more that hasn't been written, but I highly recommend this place. Anybody have thoughts on the smoothie cleanse? I'd love to give it a try.

I did a juice cleanse here. The service was wonderful. I really loved the anti-inflammatory juice and the coconut water. I am a juicer and make my own juices at home, but I wanted to do a cleanse with Earth's Healing for the convenience. Though the green juices were tasty, they were not green enough for my taste. I found them too fruit based and too sweet and citrus with not enough greens and other veggies, and I ended up supplementing my evening juice with one I made at home without the fruit, to avoid the insulin spike at night. Overall I really liked the experience, I just wish the green juices were more green and less sweet. I also tried a smoothie and a few smoothie samples and they were absolutely delish.

Smoothie Nazi - Easily the best smoothies and juices I have ever had. They are as incredibly healthy and fresh as they are amazing to taste. The people that work there are all helpful and pleasant, except whom I am guessing, is the somewhat cranky owner. His attitude runs contrary to the healthy, stress free, Caribbean vibe they try to give off. On the other hand, the product is so high-quality, he's allowed to be.

I am very happy to have finally discovered this place. It has a wonderful selection of smoothies, juices, and raw meals that are ready to go. I especially love their salads. One of the biggest issues I have run into as a vegan is getting a salad with a dressing that I like (I used to be big on ranch, blue cheese dressing). Their salad dressings are wonderful and more satisfying that your generic balsamic. Overall I am just really happy to support such a positive business. The employees are warm and give out good vibes. Everything is extremely good for you. While it's not cheap to drink here (in my opinion the food prices are fairly low), it's fair for the ingredients they use. Organic isn't cheap. I look forward to trying more items on their menu soon.

Wow..Outstanding. Earth's Healing Cafe sure healed me. And it's a non profit..so thanks guys. For doing your part to save the planet. And "benefit humanity and mother earth". earthshealingcafe.com/in… For starters, I had the Strength of Goddess entree. Ahh..avocado halves stuffed with cashews with dressing. How wonderful. And it's raw/vegan/organic/gluten-free/soy free/ and gmo -free. Thanks earths healing cafe! I think I'll have another..thank you very much. It's lo- cal too right. Ok cool. After that delicious treat..it was time for the Liver Harmony smoothee. Carrot, Apple, Dandelion, Burdock and Tumeric. Hells yea. I'm cured now bitches. Alcoholism never felt so good. Next..time for some Infection Healer. This is perfect. I have an uhh "infection test" coming up. Lemon, Ginger, Goldenseal, Echinacea and Cayenne, should do the trick. It's the goldenseal that really matters. Masks the other "herbs" I've been using for that test. Too bad goldenseal is an endangered species. Oh well. umm.edu/altmed/articles/… What next..hmm. Any spanish fly smoothies? Thats bamboo with organic apricots with a sprinkle of kale..if you don't know. Get me some ladies while saving the planet..that's what I call a win/win. You know..it's places like this, that are benefiting humanity and mother earth that really make a difference. Here's a quote from their facebook page "ALWAYS do the VERY BEST you can and God/Universe will take care of the rest". facebook.com/pages/Earth… Wow..fantastic advice guys!. And they're a non profit (psyche). And modest. Pretty cool. Word on the street is that Tammy Faye Bakker is part owner.

I was really excited to see this deal on Groupon. A nearby organic juice place! Great, healthy summer treat! The groupon was a $10 for $20 deal. I am just one person, so I read the groupon carefully to make sure I understood the rules and there was no guideline stating that I needed to use the groupon in one visit. Previously, when I had purchased groupons for things like juices, ice creams, etc----the groupon would be accepted and the remainder of the value offered in something like a gift card or store credit. When I arrived to Earth's Healing Cafe, I inquired about the Groupon, explaining that it was unlikely for me to use the $20 in one go, and they told me that I would forfeit the remainder of my groupon if I didn't use it all that day. So, wait...basically I can purchase a $6-8 juice, use my groupon (which cost $10, valued at $20) and forfeit the rest. Hmmmmm. I questioned this policy and the individual at the front told me it was the "manager's policy and there wasn't anything he could do about it." He suggested that I purchased one of the two entrees available (I wasn't coming for lunch, but for a juice---not to mention that there were only two options...). He then suggested I could spend the difference on coconut water, which I pointed out that I could get at the grocery for a much cheaper price. When it seemed apparent they weren't going to budge on this, I told the cashier that I'd rather get a refund then get less value than the money that I spent on the groupon for what I was about to order in her store. She shrugged, and said "okay, call groupon then." I left, called Groupon, and got a refund. I think I may have been a semi-regular customer, but what I found out is that this place is just too pretentious I'm sure I missed out on a good juice, but the vibe here was awful. And fortunately, I live in Chicago, so if I am craving a juice I'm sure I can find another juice bar... I do understand that Groupon is not for every business. But if you're something like a juice vendor, you can't expect customers to spend $20 on juice in one go, otherwise they will walk off angry and not return, like I did. The company wasn't forced, afterall, to sell on groupon...so why did they exactly?

Got the Love & Light smoothie and it is sooo delicious! Loved it so much I will definitely be back to try others. The place isn't large but that's ok. I was just in and out to get my smoothie. I feel so good typing this- Maybe it is the smoothie just working its own magic :)

After a weekend of overindulging in everything my body desperately needed some TLC. So I did a little yelp search and came across Earth's Healing Cafe and I'm glad I did. I have been there twice this week and good experiences both times. The only juice I have tried is the mother earth and it's excellent. I'll def be back to try other juices/smoothies. I also got some raw food and those were outstanding. -Earth's Healing Salad - So good...the sauce on top is amazing -Strength of a Goddess - Quite tasty and filling -Royal Alfredo Pasta -The zucchini noodles were perfect with the cashew/cauliflower sauce...if you are trying out raw this will kill your craving for pasta I've seen some other items that look appealing on the menu but they have not been in the case so not sure if they are available - I suppose I could ask next time I'm in. The pricing in the raw food/juicing world can be quite expensive but they are on par or even a little less which is nice. Overall super glad I found this place close to my house!

I like the drinks here from the smoothies to the juices... It is a bit pricey, but it's quite tasty and it is an investment in your health. Food though is okay. A bit pricey and not that good. I'll say 3.5 rounding to 4, but really would feel better if it wasn't so expensive here compared to other places serving juices and smoothies... and I don't mean Jamba.

  • Minna A.

... I'm 100% addicted. So to start: I'm not a health nut. I love to cook: favorites include pasta, butter and other decadent ingredients. My favorite food group? Potato chips. My "healthy" lifestyle? I only exercise when my obscenely large, fat ass starts to jiggle way too much. [OK, slight exaggeration, but you get the picture.] That doesn't stop me from LOVING these delicious, organic, vegan smoothies (something I've somewhat sworn against). My absolute favorite? LIQUID SUNLIGHT, which has Mango, Pineapple, Kale, Spinach & freshly made Apple Juice all blended together in a scary green concoction that'll blow you out of the water. Other favorites? Tree of Life River Nile The Caribbean Jamaican Paradise AND they do juice cleanses. YES, I'm going to sign up for this for the non-existent, way-not-achievable beach bod thing, but mostly b/c these juices are delicious and addicting.

My co-workers had been buzzing about this place with the $8 smoothies that were, in their assessment, "totally worth it." I must admit, I was skeptical. But today, after several days of bad food choices, I decided to go ahead and try it. I finished my smoothie 30 minutes ago and I still have this incredible "high". It was amazing. I had the Love and Light, with chlorella, kale, spinach, almond butter, dates and banana. Their smoothies are made with organic ingredients and whizzed up in the cadillac of blenders, the Vitamix (at about $500 a pop, their lineup of 3 blenders may explain the prices ;) There were no entrees or anything besides smoothies or juices on the menu or visible, which disappointed me after reading peoples' reviews. I will certainly be back, though, to get this smoothie high again.

I really love this place. Juices are delicious, food is amazing (when they have it) and customer service is phenomenal. I did a 4 day juice cleanse and I felt satiated the whole time. The juices are very high quality and taste amazing.

Love this place! I wake up craving the juice every morning. Pros: The Mother Earth juice is amazing, fresh, and healthy. I've also had the zucchini alfredo which may just be the best thing I've ever eaten in my life and felt good about after. Cons: Price- WOW I have to budget for my juice fix. Availability- about 70% of the time they're out of one ingredient for the juice I crave. Not a huge difference in taste but not quite as good either.

Finally a raw & juice place in my old hood of course when I moved to another city. Great Service and they give you a lot of information. I like that they have a huge selection of juice combination and some that are not sweeten with apple like the electric green, which I did like. The Strength of Godness was so filling and yet I could not stop eating it. I can't wait to try more when I am back in town.

Chicago real talk for y'all: Earth's Healing Cafe is amazing. I've done one three-day juice cleanse with them and I'm currently on a five-day one. In terms of cost, they are by far the most affordable place for a juice cleanse. The standard rate for the majority places is 75-80 a day (ahem blueprint), whereas Earth's Healing Cafe is 37. While it's a bit out of the way for me, I'll still go back for the next time I do a cleanse.

Their smoothies are the BEST I've had my entire life, no kidding. I'm blown away by the tasty goodness each time I order - my pupils dilate as I bask in health-bliss-heaven. If you're looking for a healthy treat and dig smoothies, this place has the best you can give yourself. The owner is really friendly and informative. I tried one of their entrees (power of a goddess) and my boyfriend had the sacred leaf wrap. Both were fresh and flavorful, but the smoothies are the real goldmine of this place, in my opinion. The best place to get a combination of health and amazing flavor- I leave each time feeling AMAZING!

My partner in crime was the one to tell me he had been visiting this place and said they used organic everything. I didn't know what to expect exactly but was blown away at the finished product. It took a while to make the smoothie I ordered (which I've gotten twice now because I'm addicted) but it was well worth it. It actually tasted better the second time and I'm not sure if it's based on the person who made it or my taste having grown more accustom to it. The smoothie I got was: Dark Maca = made with Raw Cacao, Carob, Maca Maca, Dates, Cinnamon, Vanilla, fresh made Coconut Milk & Banana I've been dying to taste cacao for a year now after taking a class on the Maya, and this has been a great first experience! Based on what I knew about the taste of it, I could pick it out in the blend of deliciousness. The smoothie itself is not as cold as you'd expect one to be, so beware that the temperature dies down pretty quickly. It can result in a little chalkier taste, but that's not really a problem. The first time I was here they had a little area extended with alkaline water in pitchers on the table that lined the window. I was here a couple weeks ago again and that area was closed off making it a teeny box of a place. I hope they re-open that area! A little pricey for a drink but well worth treating yourself!

    (4)
  • Brian B.

I've only had the juices and smoothies but everything I've tried so far including the Digestive Support and Liquid Sunlight were great. You see the juices being made so you know everything is fresh. The last couple times I've gone I've had to substitute at least one ingredient because they didn't have the original ingredient but that's a small price to pay for freshness.

What creative, delicious, and nutritious Smoothies and juices! I have promised myself that I will slowly try each and every drink on the menu. My son adores the sweeter Smoothies, but I cannot for the life of me get him to drink anything green! I love that all of their ingredients are organic and that the people who work here seem genuinely passionate about what they do. It is always a treat to come in and visit. Love and light is my favorite drink so far!

I LOVE this place! Great for grabbing a juice to take with you for breakfast, lunch, on a stroll around the neighborhood, when you're feeling under the weather, when you're feeling great-- whenever! The staff is very friendly and flexible if you want to make substitutions in your juice.

I love smoothies (and they make them, too), but there there are very few raw juice bars in Chicago. I'm so glad they opened, I've been twice this week. The mother earth juice with apple, kale, celery, lemon, ginger and cilantro is divine. Really, I makes me feel clean and energized. I also tried the Digestive Stimulator with fennel, celery, apple, mint and ginger--very smooth. A friendly young couple runs the cafe and are happy to explain anything on the menu. I'll be back very soon. I'm interested in their food menu. I'm not a raw vegan, but their plates look really good. This is a young business definitely worth checking out.

This is my new favorite lunch place by far. Gluten free, soy free, organic raw vegan energy goodness is what this place is known for. Just steps away from where I work, I have been taking a long lunch break once a week during the month of July and have been hiding out here for an hour or more. Everything on the menu is extremely delicious, but for the adventourous eaters, I would highly recommend the Plate of Imohotep and a Mother Earth smoothie. It's a lean mean green energy boosting kind of meal and it will give your body power, more power than your double shot of espresso with cream will ever provide, and the best part is that you are giving your body the vitamins it desires and craves. I should mention that this place is not a cheap eat, but it's sustainable energy that's good for the animals, earth, and your body. In my mind it's worth every single penny. Also, this place is fairly new and they are still working out some kinks, and in talking to the owner he said he's going to have business/punch cards very soon, but in the mean time I want to let everyone know that this place exists and is awesome. Ok I'm done.

I've done cleanses in the past and I've never had a fresher, tastier, cleanse.. I was reading in previous reviews about the cost, I feel that the price is completely competitive with other cleanses.. I cannot wait to complete my next cleanse w Earths Healing Cafe and I especially love supporting local businesses.. Thank you

A great addition to the Chicago raw/vegan restaurant scene! Earth's Healing Cafe has a limited menu, I'd say I recall about 5-6 food items, but they have a plethora of smoothies to make up for it. I visited the cafe for the food so I tried the Plate of Imhotep which included an herbed patty (made from sunflower seeds, almonds, and flaxseed), a layer of cashew cream, tomato sauce, sprouts, and avocado, etc. all for $10 - WOW! It doesn't look like much in the container, but it's very filling and tastes pretty great. I'd definitely go back again!

I feel so lucky to have a place like this in my neighborhood. Their smoothies, juices, and prepared foods are delicious and the fact that they only use organic is a huge plus. The staff are all super pleasant too. Also, their juice/smoothie cleanses are a way better deal than most places I've seen in the city.

This place will make those smoothies you have been drinking taste like sugary superficial messes! The smoothies here are intense with lots of amazing ingredients like coconut, fig, dates, kale, etc. The staff is super-friendly and always able to offer suggestions. When you go don't just order a smoothie...talk to them first! Tell them you want something to help with energy or to counter-act an over indulgent weekend or to feel more balanced...they will recommend the perfect match for you. I have also tried their food. The truffles with fig are fantastic! The zucchini "alfredo" pasta was delicious!

Love this place. They're very new and I've already been 3 times. Yummy raw food plates, delicious made to order juices and good deserts. I went in today and wasn't feeling well - the owner suggested a juice for me which gave me energy and seemed to fix me right up. He's an herbalist as well as the chef. So glad they opened up in my hood.

Ok - I just paid $6 for a TINY little smoothie that I could have made at home. Otherwise, maybe I'll come back to try the stuff I can't make at home. I'm willing to give it another try.

You can't go wrong with all the healthy options. This is what it's about people. Wish there were more places that would take on the concept of this place. Organic, raw and the food is filling and satisfying. You are what you eat!

I love these guys! Simply brilliant juices and washes...no one else in Chicago is doing this stuff. Liver wash...kidney wash...blood cleaners...heavy metal detox...the list of specialty juices goes on and one and the staff is incredible. It is my daily pilgrimage and the best thing is that they are building a fantastic community of "users". I meet the nicest people in this place and wish them every success. So happy that they are growing strong.

This is the best juice bar in all of Chicago. Affordable, organic and their combinations are delicious. Plus you can't beat messages like "you are radiant" written on little cards around the space. So sweet, so uplifting in every way. Not only is their juice amazing but I've loved all of their raw vegan entrees. Looking forward to going there right now for a Blood is the River of life Juice. MMMMMM

Chicago has been needing a raw restaurant up north for a long time! The people at EHC are the nicest you can imagine and their food/juices always make me feel absolutely divine. The avocado goddess plate is DELICIOUS and every single smoothie I've tried (about 5) was just as good. I am also a huge supporter of businesses that strive to provide outstanding customer service. This past Friday, my boyfriend and I were trying out our first Raw feast at home and needed "veggie pulp," so I called EHC and they happily offered to not only save their veggie pulp for us, but keep it free of inedible parts (i.e. coconut shells). I urge to try out anything from this restaurant and support a truly splendid dining experience.

My sis ( a connoisseur of smoothies) wanted to try out Earth's Healing Cafe. You don't go to this place for the atmosphere as it's sorta bare bones. They have a long list of organic/all natural smoothies that are all supposed to do a body good. (i.e., some are supposed to help the digestive system while others are loaded w/ vitamins). I went with the Coconut Berry and my sis went with Jamaican Paradise. We both agreed that the smoothies were really tasty, but teeny tiny and pricey ($6 for 10 oz.) But, I guess that's the price you pay for organic fruit. The food menu is very limited and nothing really struck my fancy. Perhaps if you're vegan/vegetarian you might dig the lunch menu. I'm glad we stopped in to check this place out, but I don't think I'll be a regular.

Just stopped in for my first smoothie (Love & Light) and it was delicious! While it is a bit pricey, not surprising given the high quality of ingredients. I will be going back.

I'm on my last day of a four-day general cleanse and I feel amazing. I had my doubts, but I always wanted to try one and it's been really, really great. Sam was very responsive to my questions and when I picked up my juice both times I was met with a friendly face. Highly, highly recommend! My energy level is through the roof, my skin looks clearer and even dropped a few pounds. No complaints here!

I'm on an elimination diet (no soy, no dairy, no gluten, no ...) & my husband brought me home a slice of blueberry "cheesecake" from Earth's Healing Cafe as a little treat. So delicious!! The texture is just right but the taste is unique & nutty & delicious. Yum! I'll be heading over for a meal or smoothie sometime soon!

Wow. Honestly, I wanted to stay there all day. Just breathing the air in that place is enough to make you feel healthier and more vibrant. My boyfriend and I shared the Sacred Leaf Wrap, The Plate of Imhotep, and the Unity Cake (I think that was what we had). We ooh'd and awe'd the entire meal, savoring every bite. It was hands down the most delicious raw meal I've ever had. I am so thrilled this is only a few blocks from home. We have already planned our return and are going to treat ourselves to this amazing cafe weekly. It's not inexpensive, but I would say you get what you pay for--and then some. I mean really, it's raw, organic, gluten free, GMO-free, vegan, and soy-free. The food is made carefully, thoughtfully, and beautifully, and the owner and workers are incredibly warm and friendly~ you feel like your walking into your friends own loving kitchen. This place is amazing~ any review that is negative about this place makes me shake my head. Aside from a couple of folks upset over paying a little bit extra (maybe $1-2 dollars per entree), there is nothing about this place that is less than amazing! If you want cheap food that'll make you feel terrible, go for it. You can find cheap unhealthy food all over town. If you want AMAZING food that makes you feel INCREDIBLE, eat here.

  • Julianna M.

Smoothie was great, service was friendly, but their prices are INSANELY high for both smoothies and the few food offerings. I appreciate having an option for smoothies other than a chain like Jamba Juice, but I just can't justify $8 on a smoothie and I'm guessing I'm not alone in that sentiment. I can get a much bigger smoothie for less with the exact same ingredients elsewhere. I probably won't be back unless I find myself in the area and desperate.

i agree, you really DO feel that the smoothies are worth the price. so delicious, and so healthy! you feel great after (okay, and during) drinking them! gluten-free. i wish it were closer, but then maybe i'd be broker.

Best raw/vegan food in the city hands down (WAY better than overpriced RAW) and the owners are friendly and amazing. I will be back again and again and again..

I love the juices here. Earth Healing is just what the neighborhood needs. However, some of their operational issues really need to be addressed. One person working the counter and making the juices sets the customer up for a long wait. There is no take-out menu and the website is perpetually down, so you can't decide what you'd like to order ahead of time (unless you've memorized the menu, of course). Also, for those of us who would like one the EHC heavenly juices instead of coffee in the morning are out of luck. They don't open until 10am, so us 9-5ers can't get our healthy fix. Still, I keep going back...

Loved this place. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Dozens of interesting drinks to choose from. Although it seems expensive for a small drink, when you see the amount of fresh ORGANIC produce going into the juicer to make it, it's clear that it is well worth it. My girlfriend got the "Mother Earth" (apple, celery, swiss chard, cilantro, lemon & ginger) and loved the taste. I got the Jamaican Paradise with fresh young coconut water & pulp, mango, papaya, and dates. We watched them cutting up the fresh coconut and all the fresh fruit for the drink - YUM!

Very happy to see this open within walking distance of my home, the juice was fabulous. I ordered the Digestive Stimulator which consists of - Fennel, Celery, Apple, Mint & Ginger. As for the raw living food selection although, as of now, there are only 3 choices were very good. A bit pricey but raw organic food usually is and I can appreciate the preparation it takes. That being said go when you have extra $ and lots of time. Call ahead option is available which might be what I do next time if I am trying to do a lunch hour. Will go back and try the smoothies and herbal teas.

I just ate here on a recommendation from a co-worker. I was extremely skeptical upon hearing about it, and even upon entering, but the food was delicious. If you are judgmental at all of an alternative lifestyle, try to put your skeptcism aside. I had the Sacred Leaf Wrap, which was delicious, as was the coleslaw it came with. I look forward to trying more of their dishes, and a few smoothies. I should mention that it is expensive ($10 for the leaf wrap) but if you step back and think about it, you're eating extremely healthy, organic, fresh food. And I reiterate that it's extremely fresh, and tasty.

I heard about this place from my mom who lives nearby. I am not a juicer by any means but I was on a workout/eating plan where they suggested a fresh juice. I was told that I needed to add another base to it but they made it for me and it wasn't on the menu. I also ordered another juice off the menu for my boyfriend and a smoothie for my 5 year old daughter. I liked that we were able to watch them make it but it was a bit pricey. I think I paid about $18 for 3 drinks. They didn't have any take away menu's because they said the menu changes every couple of weeks. I would definitely come back here.

Earth's Healing Cafe is amazing!!! I have not had their smoothies or juices yet, but their entrees and desserts are incredible. Fresh and as healthy as it gets! This place has the best qualities ingredients, vegetables and fruit. And they are so very friendly and prepare the food with much love and care! The price for the entrees is reasonable considering you get a generous portion and the food is so healthy. They are certainly not over-charging. Organic, GMO-free food is unfortunately not cheap and these folks need to make a living and manage to stay open. Delicious!!!!

We were in the area visiting friends who suggested we check out this place. If you don't mind paying any where from $6 to $9 for a smoothie -- I say go for it and enjoy it -- Life is too short. We figured the prices may be slightly higher than other places, due to the neighborhood, the cost of leasing a business in the area is pretty substantial too. The owners are friendly, and the service was also good. My friend is a die-hard vegan. Not I. I ordered a smoothie, which was okay. My friend said, "It was fairly decent food, but a little bit bland for her taste." I asked my vegan friend if she would go back again, and she said "no." I asked why. She answered, "The prices are too high for my budget. I can eat similar vegan food elsewhere for less." There you have it folks!

Fresh, imaginative, healthful choices. I've only had the smoothies, but each was delicious. My favorite is the Bio Active Vita C (Rose hips are officially awesome.) Some people have commented on the prices, but the ounces and prices are right there on the menu, so you know what you're getting into. I'm happy to pay for organic, well-prepared food. That, and my blender just couldn't handle the fantastic assortment of ingredients in use here. The space is a little impersonal, but you should be outside anyway, right?

I'm always excited to see vegetarian/vegan places open up in my neighborhood and this one is right down the block. It looks like, as of right now, they have a very limited food menu, but I went in today to try a smoothie and wasn't disappointed. Everything looked amazing, but I played it safe with the Liquid Sunlight: mango, pineapple, kale, spinach and apple juice. I am a huge fan of green smoothies and this one was delicious, but 10 oz. was too small for almost $7! I also tried a sip of my sister in law's Bio-Active Vita C: pineapple, orange, lemon, rose hips and apple juice. Also amazing! I'll probably stick to making my own green smoothies at home, but I'll definitely be back to try the more unusual juices and smoothies.

Fresh Organic goodness with a smile! Excellent Smoothie and juice selections and great friendly, patient and informative service. Chicago could use more places like this! Yes, you do pay slightly more for Organic and freshness but it's your health. Consider the alternative. Perfect treat to beat the heat! Will be back.

It has been open just a couple of weeks and I've eaten there twice. Slice of apple pie and slice of fruit pie - both AMAZING! Raw, vegan, gluten-free foods. Not cheap but really delicious fresh foods. They have a few wraps, desserts, and juices. The owners are very nice. The one owner mentioned that he is a Herbal guru (Herbalogist? can't remember the title) and is going to have herbal teas that he can customize for you. My only suggestion is for them to get rid of the huge blaring fluorescent lights over their workstations, yikes it kills the calm, earthy feel of the place. I hope they have outside seating in summer! And, more offerings on the menu!

i'm a fan of ethical fare and practices. i had a delish smoothie. they are getting on their feet b/c they are not aware of what they need and how much of it. they weren't serving entrees when i went (mid afternoon) and the smoothie i wanted they were out of an ingredient that was key. they replaced it, so i was ok. i'm all for what they are doing but get your shit together so you don't run out of stuff on a hot summer day.

So so delicious but I am bankrupted every time I come here. The dudes who work here are awesome and the smoothies are the best in the city by far. You can and should for sure come here. All of the options for cold pressed juices or smoothies are terrific.

This place is great and I can't wait to go back. Their fresh coconut water is amazing! In fact I was craving it as I woke up this morning and that's what prompted me to write this. I won't write a lengthy review here, but I think it noteworthy that the folks who own this place are truly invested in health and the best ingredients. They are not cutting corners o make a profit. This is their passion and if they can't do it the way they want then they wouldn't do it at all.
