At a business dinner, place was very nice inside...took the greeter a few minutes to come back to the front desk but was a very good experience after that. Had the beet salad and the filet. Both very good / tasty. Colleague had the chicken soup and the beet salad. Two thumbs up from him. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Overall good experience. Will be back.

More like Bronze Chef burger, really. Overcooked, uniform patty of undisclosed origin. Tough onions and giant ribs of romaine lettuce. The tots were good, but that doesn't take a genius to pull off. I should have known what I was in for given the Hard Rock Hotel association. Don't bother unless you just need to fill your gullet and sludge through the rest of the day.

Once again, one of my favorite places exceeded my expectations. The Veal meatballs with Foie Gras were out of this world! And the Salmon with honey bourbon glaze was delicious, too! My husbands ode to southern fried food- the fried perch basket- was as to die for. Can't wait to go back!

Went here for lunch and ordered the portobello sandwich and the tater tots. The sandwich was mostly bread.... not even good bread. The portobello tasted like chewy rubber. I was excited to try the tots.... major disappointment. The food is not good. There are plenty of other great restaurants in the city. Pass this one up.

Great service and food! Would send anyone there for a great 1st date or group event! The atmosphere was great, the music not to loud to hold a conversations. The small fire places around the room, very comforting! And food was VERY GOOD!

I don't know who Kerry Simon is and I hope I'm not offending anyone but this place is just okay. My coworker and I came to this place for lunch because it was close by and our company was paying for it, so why not splurge on something expensive? We ordered the waffle fry nachos for appetizers, it was pretty big but I've seen better being served at college bars for half the price. Guac was good though. Anyway. I got the Iron Chef Burger which was recommended by someone else. Severely overrated. Their "special sauce" pretty much just tasted like the Big Mac sauce, you know, that thousand island dressing and mayo kind of sauce. The meat was good. But definitely not worth the hefty sum. Thank god for company cards. Chill atmosphere though and funny servers. It seemed like a nice place to come for happy hour.

I usually go to Chuck's at least once a week. Great staff and amazing atmosphere. The food and drinks are awesome. My favorite bartenders are Brian, Angela, and Lauren. Absolutely have wings. Junk food platter is great for anyone with a sweet tooth. Great after work spot!

I liked the food concepts. Service and as friendly but not very attentive took us 5 minutes to get our servers attention and we were of the 5 groups of people there. The reason for the poor review was I got my food served cold. I asked to have it returned hot. It came back slightly warm. It isn't good if it isn't fresh. And it's not Fresh if it's not hot. When it's meant to be.

Restaurant review I came across this restaurant through spring rewards. I did not realize they opened up right next to the hard rock cafe. We went for a early lunch and were lucky enough to be the first people there. The wait staff was super friendly and was able to get a high chair for my son. The overall ambience is hip and modern, not usually for people with little kids which is why we went early. We ordered the surf/turf (filet mignon/shrimp tacos) which came with a side of chips + guac/salsa and the Iron Chef Burger. The burger itself was good, I can't say it was the best burger ever but it was a unique blend of flavors with a perfectly cooked meat patty with a red onion jam sauce which was both sweet and savory. If they switch the bun to a pretzel roll bun I think it could put it over the top. It came with a side of spicy tots which were not spicy at all, but they were fried nicely. For 14 dollars it is a bit on the pricey side compared to a steakhouse burger. My wife's surf/turf tacos were perfect; well flavored with very tender beef and shrimp that were seasoned perfectly. Overall pricey, but unique balance of flavors. Pro: attentive wait staff, flavorful entrees Cons: expensive compared to other lunch options around this area Hidden gem: Sign up for spring rewards to earn cash back if you are a frequent customer. Use open table for registration to earn points as well.

Decided to try this place for a late lunch. Great atmosphere, a tad cold due to the full front windows. Huge screen for college football viewing. Angela, our waitress was very customer focused & sweet disposition. The Sirloin Cobb was very very good. We'd come back here. The appetizers that were delivered to customers looked outstanding!

WOW!!!!! First of All, Came here with my Girlfriend to celebrate our 5 year Anniversary. This Place is Amazing inside out.I want to Thank our Server Anthony who gave us a SUPERB service, excellent vibe, what an outstanding person Including Chef Scott ,who took some of his time to come and say "Happy Anniversary " to us. May not seem like a lot but details matter and it Meant A lot to us.WE'LL DEFINITELY BE BACK. Thanks guys!

We ordered the salmon and the short ribs. The short ribs entre was the winner. The ribs were tender and flavorful and the polenta was tasty. The salmon, on the other hand, was the loser. The quinoa was under cooked and the salmon was fishy. The service was good and the noise level was moderate.

From the street Chuck's looks like it is just a bar but there is a restaurant in the back. We had a great breakfast! Husband had frosted flake French toast and I had the all American. Very good!!!

After walking downtown on Michigan ave, my family and I decided to check out Chuck's. The menu looked promising but delivered some disappointment. After being seated, and having our order taken, it seemed to take awhile for the food to come. I ordered a Seconal fruit plate.($10) For the price, it didn't offer much. It came with yogurt, some raspberries, strawberries, some pieces of pineapple, cantolpe, melon, and some pieces of unripe watermelon. I complained about the watermelon being unripe so the waitress had brought me a bowl of more raspberries and strawberries. My father ordered the eggs Benedict and said it good but not extradoniary. My mother ordered the vegetable skillet, which had potatoes and sautéed vegetables with cheddar cheese and scrambled eggs on top. The potatoes and vegetables tasted good and was well seasoned but the eggs were pretty plain and a little overcoked. My mom said if she hadn't asked for the salsa it would have been bland. The manager also took 20% on the bill because of the long wait, even though we didn't complain. Overall it was an ok experience but nothing better than an average resturant.

Had dinner here today. Friendly service and our server was very kind. Our app was the salt and pepper calamari which was pretty good and then we had the filet and the rib eye. I had the tempura Brussel sprouts and I'm glad I did. I would visit again!

This is a fun spot to grab a drink for happy hour. It is an upscale bar but they have a nice selection of craft beers and cocktails. I will say that the outfits the bar tenders are wearing could use an update. The vest idea is cute but the wrinkled white hanes undershirts are not exactly classy. Anyway, the drinks were good - be sure to try the on-tap alcoholic root beer! COOL! That was a first and definitely worth making a visit here to try.

We spent our 9th wedding anniversary in Chicago and had lunch here. No wait for seating and this was on a Saturday. I ordered the chilie, Mac and cheese burger and my ordered the prime rib sandwich. Both were excellent. The burger was the best I have ever had. The service was very good. After lunch we complemented the chef and a few minutes later received a gift of thanks from the kitchen. Would recommend this place for lunch.

This review only applies to breakfast, we have never been there for any other meals. We went recently and they must have been severely understaffed. Although our service wasn't that terrible, we probably saw about 5-8 other people go up to the hostess to complain about how slow the service was. It was not just that the food took a long time, but the waiters would disappear for minutes at a time. It probably took 15 minutes from when our check was dropped off for another waiter (not even our original one) to come back and swipe the card. The food was alright. The breakfast meat skillet was a bit dry, and the bacon has a somewhat odd taste to it. The omelet was decent. We think this place focuses more on its dinner than breakfast, and it certainly shows.

Celebrated my uncles Bday and Anthony was such an awesome server! All the appetizers were delicious, the main entree was amazing! & the desert was the cherry on top! So happy we took the risk to try something new for his birthday!

Chuck's is pretty good. Always easy to get a reservation and the food is consistently good. They revamped after they first opened and I like the new vibe much better. Chuck's is conveniently located in the Hard Rock Hotel on Michigan Avenue. I love coming here for a quick, delicious lunch. Try the surf and turf tacos! So good.

Service was friendly and helpful. Filet mignon cooked medium-plus was up to par. Dessert options are interesting, but I didn't have time to try. Will likely come back some day. Atmosphere is modern city and fits the street it's located on nicely. This is a good fit for those who want to watch the big game on a huge display. However, it isn't too loud in here. Kitchen is hidden, so there's zero dish/silverware crashing and noise. The view from the front room overlooking Michigan Avenue is awesome.

We stopped in to have a drink before we headed out for a night on the town. The atmosphere was very modern and the bartender was awesome! Brian, the bartender, suggested that we try the "Not Your Fathers Rootbeer" topped off with vanilla porter. It was delicious! I could see how someone could get themselves in deep trouble with this one!

Lunch, had the salmon and a side salad. Salmon was cooked perfectly!!! Grilled in bourbon sauce, placed on top of mashed potatoes with thin sweet potato strips on the side. All the flavors worked, this was amazing. A bit expensive lunch ($36 with tip) but defiantly a good meal! I could have split this, large portion of salad and mashed potatoes.

We stayed at the hard rock so we figured we would try this place out!! Good food, i wouldnt say amazing but not bad. The portions are huge!!! My husband and I got 3 appetizers and they were all good couldnt finsh them though! The bartender that helped us out was gorgeous and she was very nice (:

You have to try the salt and pepper calamari - it was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Chicago Chowder- very tasty although the toasted baguette was a little too salty. My husband had the filet mignon cooked blue just like he asked. Again maybe just a tad too salty. Elizabeth was a lovely host and we enjoyed our evening.

Excellent location, great service and good food. We picked this spot for our final night of a Chicago getaway based on Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. Our preference for late dinners made this a perfect spot. We grabbed a table in the bar which was great for people watching, and a trip down memory lane watching the Dream Team on ESPN 30 x 30 thanks to their wall of televisions. The bartenders provided attentive food and beverage service. We would recommend the wedge salad and the lamb chop dish. The Summer Breeze cocktail was refreshing and not overly sweet. The only "miss" was the creamed spinach which was too creamy for our liking, and tasted more like cheese soup.

Took a new employee here for lunch. The food was full of flavor and left us more than filled. We both had the pork belly burger. It was honestly one of the best burgers I've eaten in Chicago. I was very surprised.

The iron burger is nicely balanced, recommended. One star less because I requested rare and got a burger that was over done and burned. Other than that: Nice place, nice beers. The waiter however apologized and gave me a reduced bill. Nice.

This place is connected the Hard Rock Hotel in the old Carbon & Carbide building. The boy and I stopped in on Sunday night for a late bite to eat before crashing in our hotel room. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was cool, funny and very friendly. She gave us some great recommendations for our late night snack- I got the crab cake and the boy got the "appetizer" size cheeseburger and fries (which was huge, would be scary to see their full size burger!!). Everything was delicious!

Chucks is an entergetic resturant - great for a girls night out or a high energy date night. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the staff is super attentitive. My boyfriend and I started with the crab cheddar fondue which was delicious!! For our main entrees we had the trout and iron burger - both very creative and decedent. Chucks has a great beer menu But if you don't drink beer I recommend the sangria - probably the best in the city. My boyfriend and I were very impressed and will be back to try more of the menu.

Breakfast Service was slow for an "upscale" restaurant. The price was not worth the quality of the food. Food came out slow even when it was not busy. Food was cold when served. The server had such a hard time figuring out the bill/who had what to eat. (Table of 6) when the final billed arrived she asked us to split up the bill, and she added additional charges that were meant for another table. Just an unsatisfying time overall.

Had the pleasure of visiting Chucks for a belated birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. Our experience started when we walked in. We were ushered to the "chefs table " which is perched on a stage like area overlooking the restaurant. It made us all feel very VIP (hey why not, it's a birthday right?! ). We were promptly greated by Jonathan and drink orders were placed and we're off to the start of a great meal. I'm an old school kind of guy so I got a gin & tonic. My fiancee on the other hand loves the new IPA craze and was very pleased with the selection. Our three other guests went with wine and were happy. Now on to the apps! We ordered the charred edamame and boy does it have a nice zing to it(I want whatever spice they toss it in for myself)! The calamari was crispy and well seasoned. The dipping sauce was a saffron aioli (I would have liked a marinara option but that's just me being old school). Last but not least was the sausage pail... You can't go wrong with a bucket of meat and a few different dipping mustards. Dinner time! I ordered the ribeye for myself. Must say it was perfectly cooked (medium rare is the only way to eat steak ) and seasoned. I also got a side of truffle mac & cheese that was scrumptious. My fiancee being a vegetarian went with the margarita flatbread and was happy. Two of my guests split the crab cakes (portion size was hefty so they were full after) and commented on how moist and flavorful it was. I would have liked to try it but alas, I'm allergic to shellfish ! The final guest had the trout dish that came with crispy corn and a sauteed spinach medley. I'm guessing most people don't know that salmon is best cooked to medium, which it was! Dessert! Junk Food Platter : Cotton candy, a variety of rice crispy treats, brownies, cracker jacks, cookies, and a few others I can't remember off hand. Need I say more?! Overall a great experience and we'll be back!! Ps... Not sure if it was because we were celebrating a birthday or sitting at the Chefs Table.. But it was a nice touch when the Chef came out to ask how our meal was going.

Per the recommendation of a friend, I visited this restaurant last night while I was in town. I had an excellent experience, everything including the ambiance, food and service were on point! The decor in the restaurant is very contemporary and inviting, you can't help by look and around an admire the uniqueness. I think it would be a perfect spot for a date or a girl's night out. There is an extensive cocktail list with a bunch of "girly drinks", as well beer and wine. My two friends and I were seated in a booth in the main dining area, there was plenty of room, and most importantly, the cushion was plush! Once we got comfy we started our meal off with the margherita flat bread, it was excellent! It was hands down the best margherita flat bread I've ever had! I could have easily ate the whole thing myself but I didn't want to be greedy! :-P All the ingredients were very fresh, it was light and not oily at all. I chose the carbcakes for my main entree, they were definitely traditional with a spin. The entree consisted of two five ounce cakes, topped off with red and yellow julienne peppers, on a bed of remoulade sauce and a small "side" of "exotic mixed greens". The crab meet was lump, there was not a lot of filler, just enough to hold it together. The aspect that really set them apart was that they were seared on the outside and had a nice brown "crust", which gave them a subtle crunchy effect that I liked. Ohhhh... and the house-made red sangria that I had with the meal, gets two thumbs up! Back to the food... One of my friends had the ribeye, which she said was delicious. It definitely smelled and looked delicious , even being well done! I was pleasantly impressed by the little sauteed "onion rounds" that came with the steak, I've never seen that done before. The other friend, who is vegetarian, had the fresh strawberry and goat cheese salad, he gave it a raving review as well. Oh, and we shared a side of french fries, they were nothing to write home about, they weren't hand cut, but they did satisfy my french fry craving. Our server, Anthony, was great! He gave us service with a smile! He was really friendly, upbeat and patient with all of our questions, we had a lot of them since it was our first visit, he was very knowledgeable about the menu and made fantastic recommendations. I will definitely come back here again when I'm back in Chicago!

If you come here, stick with the burgers and tots. Anything else fell a bit short. I love the Iron Burger and tator tots I had, even though there was a pool of grease on the bottom of the tin. The flatbread were disappointing and tasteless and the cheese waffle fries are a monster. Their beer menu is pretty great though. I found a few things on there I liked.

I stumbled upon this place in my quest to fulfill a promise to myself to try at least one new restaurant when I am traveling alone. The decor is ultra modern. The music is upbeat and fun to listen to whether alone or with friends. I ordered the rigatoni bolognase which promises house made ricotta. Yum! A definite go again!

Been there twice now - once for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch - attentive service, good turkey burger & tots, reasonably priced. Dinner - attentive service, extra mushy and very salty crab cakes (2) no included side, $26 - not reasonably priced. Atmosphere/decor is vibrant with a bar-like louder din even in the dining room.

We stopped there for dinner last month with our Gilt City coupon which included 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 1 side, 2 entrees and 2 desserts - all for like $75. Which is a great deal. Unfortunately, our meal didn't live up to the $75. Our drinks were good - good enough that I ordered another one - unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the cocktail and it's not on their menu anymore. For our appetizer - I had the Salt and Pepper Calamari - which was quite a large portion, but it was way too fried for me and just felt greasy. My husband had the Chicago Clam Chowder - which was the highlight of the meal. It was extremely tasty - not your usual clam chowder b/c it was in a red sauce. I then had the Filet and he had the NY Strip. Both of us requested medium, but the NY Strip was definitely well done and lost flavor b/c of it. My filet was fine - just nothing great. We also got the Garlic Mashed Potatoes - that lacked both salt and garlic. I love potatoes, but these were not good. For dessert, we tried to order the ice cream sandwiches - only to find out 10 minutes after we ordered them that they no longer sell them. So we switched to the creme brulee. It was okay - nothing great....which summed up our whole. Okay, but nothing great. Our server was really good and I like the atmosphere of the place - though it did get a little loud by the bar area. I think Chuck's is more of a place to go with a group of friends for drinks and appetizers....not really to have a good meal.

Came here during the week for a nice lunch. It was anything but. I got the Cobb salad and it was awful. The lettuce was brown and the tiny bits of chicken tasted weird. I couldn't even eat much of it even though I was very hungry. When one of the servers asked if I'd like a box I told her no and that it wasn't good. She asked what I had ordered and just walked away. And then another server brought our check--$40 for my salad and my friend's salad. A ridiculously expensive lunch for very low quality food. And clearly they are not concerned with customer satisfaction. Don't go!

Loved everything we encountered ! The food, the drinks, and the staff. Everyone was friendly and super accomidating! From the Charred Edamame, all the way thru to the junk food platter, things tasted amazing and presentation was perfect! This is a great place for an after work cocktail to a romantic dinner for two. Chuck's has something for everyone! Service was outstanding! :)

Chuck's is much improved from its "trying to hard to be hip" concept in the previous space. This version has a much broader menu, a much better price point for the meals and far improved atmosphere. Ambiance: Entrance bar is a little sleeker than before, and the main dining room has been uncluttered and hosts nice "library" accents, various subdued lighting fixtures, and much better table spacing. Oh and the DJ is gone, which previously made it impossible to talk and do much of anything other than eat while getting a headache. This time the focus is on the food and relaxing atmosphere, and Chuck's delivers a dramatic improvement on both regards. Food: MUCH improved. The menu has good depth, though some additional non-beef options would be nice. Salad was great, but again a few more options in the salad area would be a nice addition. My partner and I both had the burger. Though we are gluten-free, even without the bun this was a monster of a burger to get through. Meat was very good choice (hey my parents cattle farm, I know good beef) and was cooked exactly as requested for both myself and my partner. Fries were lightly seasoned and tasted great. Tatter tots (who knew you could improve the tot?) was also lightly seasoned with a bit of spiciness. All in all meal was so much better than before! We didn't try any of the desserts, but they looked really good (especially the presentation for the sampler with the cotton candy). Service: Huge improvement. Our hostess was great and conversational, greeted us and chatted with us after to ensure we were happy. Our server was polite, fast, efficient and made great suggestions. And, I love when the host/GM for the evening checks on tables to make sure everything is ok. Kitchen speed could be improved a little but definitely faster than before when it was Chuck's Manufacturing. Water service was efficient and our glasses were always being checked by our server and the water servers. Prices: Not too bad, though I think the burger was a bit expensive for a restaurant that doesn't fall strictly into the upscale steak restaurant category. Steak prices were reasonable as were all other prices. Great to see well-designed restaurant pop up in this stretch of up-and-coming Michigan Avenue. We live in Lakeshore East, so having a good retreat on the weekends for brunch (their brunch menu looked great!) or a nice evening meal that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (do you hear me Three Forks?) in a great atmosphere is a nice addition. We look forward to returning!

I'll stretch a bit and give it two stars. Been in a couple times for lunch and drinks, and it's been OK. Last week, a couple coworkers and I went in for Happy Hour and sadly ran into a gauntlet of unfriendly service. Server was mostly polite, albeit hard to find. My colleague gave a wave to the bartender from the hightop tables, which I believe is a universal symbol for "need something", and he was met with quizzical look and a "what does that mean" question? Lastly, a request to a hostess attendant went unanswered & ignored. Unfortunate, as it's right across from our office. I hope to update with a more positive experience down the road.

We were here last night for some drinks, appetizers, and dessert. A little pricey (the menu listed here is not up to date), but we loved the calamari and margherita pizza! We also enjoyed some tasty drinks while we coincidentally caught the big screen viewing of the Grammy's in the gorgeous bar area. We loved the ambiance here, especially the floor to ceiling glass front during the snow storm - what a beautiful view! The service was great, too - everyone was so fun and friendly! We will definitely be back!!

Dined on Saturday night for my wife and my 15th wedding anniversary and Chuck's did not disappoint in any way. The entire staff was attentive and knowledgable on both food and drink. I was very impressed with the food as well. All of our meats were cooked to perfection and were accompanied by flavorful sides. A credit to the skills of the kitchen staff. Thanks for making our Anniversary extra special! We will be back soon!

All I can say I thank you guys for opening a restaurant on this part of Michigan Ave. that is not sweetwater. Went here for a business lunch and it was amazing. Great service as well. The manager came up to our table to make sure everything was good as well. The manager even through in this great dessert platter as well.

Hmmm i had high hopes based the ratings and the reputation of a celeb chef. I had that crispy chicken wrap and a salad. The salad and especially the dressing was brilliant while the wrap was wildly uninspired! . Service was inconsistent from table to table. The outdoor table was dirty and my drink was brought with no coaster or napkin making is a threat to my threads! I hate that! Drip drip drip is no fun fun fun.

Went here on Aug 29. As it was 10pm, we ordered from the nibbles menu. The waiter/bartender wasn't very friendly. We all ordered the Iron Chef Burger with either fries or taters. On receiving our food, it was barely warm. As the waiter wasn't anywhere to be seen at the start of the meal, or didn't come back to see how the food was, we ate it as we were hungry. I must say though, even with the tepid temperature, the food was very good. The burger had great flavors, and the fries were good. The taters were spicy. The waiter only appeared to clear the table at the end. I would give a higher rating if the food was served at an appropriate temperature, and if the service was better.

Heard great things about chucks and stopped in for lunch after spending the day site seeing at millennium park. Started with the waffle fry nachos which are amazing, I'm totally obsessed with the habanero cheese sauce and the fries were still nice and crispy with all the toppings . Next I had the iron chef burger which was cooked perfectly and tasted very yummy, I can see why he won iron chef with this. My friend ordered the pastrami Ruben which isn't my thing but she loved it. Staff was very friendly and very attentive, I will definitely be coming back on my next trip to try more of the menu.

If I could give negative stars, I would. We enjoy good food and good service; we have dined all over the City of Chicago. This was absolutely the worst experience we have had (there were four of us and the opinion was unanimous). Greeted by a very nice waiter after a good wait to be asked for our drink order; they gave us an extra drink they made by accident (said it was our lucky day). Placed our orders, he asked for entire orders up front. They bought our appetizers and soup/salad at once then starting placing our entrees on the table with the half eaten plates still there; had to decide if we wanted to finish the food or let our entree get cold. Now the food, the terrible rotten awful no good food. I do not need to elaborate on it, it was awful on so many levels. One of our friends became ill in the middle of the night and feel comfortable it was the awful food. I was actually glad they forgot our side dish. We received our check and it was $300 including a charge for the "lucky day" drink, that was an absolute waste of money. We routinely pay around that amour for four but this was not worth it, I felt robbed and paid the entire check because we felt so bad for the awful experience for our friends because we chose the restaurant.

I hardly ever make a comment on a meal on yelp or other websites, but Chuck's DEFINITELY deserves one. I was absolutely blown away by our server, Jonathan. He went above and beyond any server I've ever had, and I consider myself an experienced diner. In addition, the food was perfect. We had the cheddar crab fondue appetizer, which blew my mind. And our entrées (Double iron chef burger and the organic chicken) were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. I've never had such genuine, attentive, and knowledgeable service and the food was just as good.

I had the prime rib steak sandwich with a side salad. Both were amazing. The sandwich is BiG!

If your looking for a place with really bad music, bad service and horrible management go here. What kinda manager yells at you for clapping to a game. Why have TVs if you can't enjoy them. She must really don't want business. The place was dead anyways and I couldn't even enjoy the game. I had to leave, Tabitha I think her name was, must be scaring everyone away. Way to go I see it's working. Learn how to run a business especially when it's dead. Keep all customers that you can because you will sure need all the money you can get. Stay away from this place.

I went in there everything seemed ok until I over heard a manager putting down a server or a busser (not sure what he was)I was shocked of how she was speaking to the server. I didn't even want to finish my food I am not going to eat were they treat the people that work there like that. The managers name was tabatha I believe I asked one of the servers for her name I will never eat there again.

Good food bad service and the Waite staff hurries us out and complained about the 16% tip. Very obnoxious.

Amazing waffle fry nachos and iron chef burger. For being open only 6 weeks under the current setup, this place really had it all together. Great bartender who was very knowledgeable about the menu and background of the restaurant who could also make a great old fashioned. The tots that came with the burger were nicely spicy. The burger was definitely the highlight and my buddy ordered a double patty (1/3 lb is normal size patty).

Attractive restaurant. Unfortunately everything looks good, but, at the end of the day, the food was on the salty side and lacked depth. I am always a bit suspicious when the food is over salted as I wonder why they would want to cover up the food's natural essence and aroma. Such was the case with the creamed spinach. The apple and endive salad was good and I could order that again.

My friend and I went there this past Sunday, and I wish I could give them 7 stars! The food was excellent! Mama Simon's Meatloaf was the best comfort food one could possibly eat! And the service? I cannot say enough about the staff at Chuck's. My server, awesome! The hostess -- great! I was introduced to a new bourbon, I watched the Grammy's on their cool 9-screen wall TV. I mean, I can't wait to go back when they're at full throttle. I was a little cold and getting colder the past Sunday (with snow), so only the diehards were in attendance. I highly recommend if you're passing by Chuck's -- stop in! I can't wait to see a Friday after work or a Saturday evening. Extraordinary!

I was excited to see that the restaurant in the Hard Rock Hotel has been rebooted and by a top notch chef, nonetheless. Sadly, the experience did not live up. Starting from being seated it was confusing as to whether breakfast was still being served or not as we walked in at 11:53am. We had to ask three times to get a clear answer. After being seated we waited without greeting, water, or anything for more than 10 minutes. After finally being greeted, we just decided to order everything rather than do drinks (coffee) and then wait longer to order food. We asked clarifying questions about the two dishes we were ordering and then off to the kitchen the server went. And so we waited for our food. For 45 minutes. And it came out wrong. We had to send it back, so another 10 minutes passes. They left the side of bacon we ordered. Finally, food for our starving bellies! The bacon was soggy and super greasy and just heaped onto a little plate. I'm picky, sure, but it looked like hell. Once our remade meals were brought out we were pleased. And it was tasty, for sure. But what the hell is happening on the line? The restaurant was maybe 20% full! They weren't getting slammed! Anyhow... The waiter and manager were super nice. Very apologetic and accommodating. We were very nice as well. They waived our coffee and offered free dessert, which we declined. We tipped the server 20% as he was nice. The kitchen wasn't in sync and I wasn't going to punish him for that. Don't know if this is just because the place is somewhat new, but there needs to be some assessment of service like this. It can and will kill a place, no matter how good the food could be. I don't know that I'll be back and I let everyone traveling with me (about 20 people) about the experience. Bummer.

Would give this place 0 stars if it were an option. Came to the bar for drinks and apps at 7 on a Friday evening. The Place was not crowded as there were several empty bar tables. After sitting and waiting for 15 minutes with no service went to the bar to ask if we could get service. The bartender did come over and take our order. The drinks and appetizers did arrive promptly. Once again, when we wanted more drinks and we waited for 15 minutes and had to go to the bar to request service. There was plenty of staff at the bar that seemed more interested in socializing with each other than serving customers. Don't waste your time in this place - appetizers were run of the mill and service is non-existent.

SO RUDE! Can't believe I came back again after the first negative experience I had. The staff should be ashamed to consider themselves a Kerry Simon Kitchen. If you're on Michigan Ave and want to have a decent experience with kind staff, go anywhere but here. Head over to McDonalds, they will take better care of you.

Ate here twice for breakfast the past two days with the new husband, both times I was unsatisfied with my meals. I first ordered the All American and everything was barely warm enough to eat. This morning I ordered the pancakes, which to me were very heavy and I could barely finish them and at $10 I would at least expect some sort of side of fruit to go with them. The husband was satisfied with his though, ordering a skillet and some choice of biscuits and gravy. I did have a taste of those and I have to say they were very good. For the price I paid I would not eat here again.

I went here on a business lunch and they nailed it! Every entree looked amazing, everything I tasted was even better than it looked. The service was exceptional (thanks Jonathan!). He even went above and beyond and gave our group a free desert - the "junk food plate" which was killer. Would recommend it!

I ordered a burger and it was perfectly cooked to order. The 1000 islands like dressing they put in was so delicious and I had to lick my fingers. The side salad was fresh and the dressing was very tasty too. I sat at the bar and the service was as good as tables.

This is 100x better than the old Chuck's Manufacturing. A more streamlined menu, good quality products and passion behind the food. Chef came out several times to ask how the food was. He obviously cares about what diners think. We got the sausage pail, Cobb salad, iron chef burger and the s'more dessert(I think). All were fabulous, especially the burger. That onion jam on the burger is divine! I will definitely be returning to try other things on the menu.

This restaurant was so awesome! The decor was so cool. I was skeptical about all of the giant pictures of the chef everywhere but after trying the food, he totally has a right to do that!! I have not had a great meal like this in Chicago in a while. Everything we ate was delectable. Our steak (ribeye) was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The mac n'cheese and crab fondue were the perfect balance of comfort and contemporary and the dessert (the Junk food platter) was AMAZING! Our server was so on top of it and very sweet. She was so genuinely happy that we were enjoying our meal. It would be a great idea to put a sign up that directs people who are parking somewhere. We spent quite a bit of time trying to find a place to park, all the while not realizing we could park at the Hard Rock for a discount price.

Looking for a meal after our long walk to and from Soldiers Field and decided on Chucks. We were greeted by a lovely hostess to a dimly lit but modern trendy restaurant. The cool interior is what really drew us in. There was plenty seating available at 9pm hour. Our server approached us immediately and provided our menus and a glass of water, left, and returned shortly thereafter taking my drink order and dinner selections. Finally after a long wait my drink arrived with an apology that the bar was behind. Really? As the server turned away the food runner presented our meals. Strawberry salad, yummy but should have had more goat cheese than a few curds. Mac n cheese was crunchy, cheesy and truffle flavorful. Finally the crab cakes a coated with light crust and topped with a tasty pepper medley looked appealing but insides were a bit mushy for my tastes. We were stuffed and declined dessert. Bummed out because I'd rather had the dessert than my late served pomegranate cocktail.

Burger was good, decent beer selection but nothing out of the ordinary, service was not very attentive or quick (failed to list off any specials but made sure to go into detail of Chuck's prestige), over-salted and over-cooked surf & turf tacos with tortillas that tasted like they were just pulled out of a package you can buy at any grocery.... Not at all impressed. Restaurant and atmosphere was modern and nice but as for the food..... Very mediocre, especially for the price, and extremely disappointing.

I went her for both dinner and breakfast while stating at Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago. The dinner menu was wonderful. We started with the edamme which was great spicy twist on the traditional dish. We also had the tempura battered brussels sprouts, which were crunchy but not greasy. For my entree I had the red thai curry with chicken - which was the perfect amount of spicy and very delicious. The breakfast menu (and breakfast service) was a bit underwhelming but still good.

I don't know where to begin.. I must say that this is one of the nicest restaurants I've been to in a while. I'm from Chicago and I frequent restaurants on the regular considering that I'm a self proclaimed "foodie". Me and daughter came by because a dear friend of mine has recommended Chuck's and I'm happy I finally went. I'll start with the ambiance.. Nice low lighting just perfect.. There's nice music playing.. In addition to the live band that was there.. Wonderful staff.. The greeter , servers , and Chefs.. Everyone made me and my daughter feel very welcome.. And now the reason we went, I can't forget most importantly the food.. Starters we had the spinach dip and the creamy shrimp..both I highly recommend! Main course we had the short ribs.. Excellently prepared.. There was a nice wine and drink selection.. I could go on and on.. I will for sure make this one of my go to spots.. I will not mention the desserts.. This place comes with a thumbs up from me and my daughter!!!

A hidden gem !!!! Awesome food!!! Hard to believe a restaurant at hard rock could be considered "hidden", but location was a bit in 'no mans land' on Michigan ave. Between millennium park & the mag mile. Anyway sooo excited to find out chef Simon has come to share his food with the Windy City!!! I ate at their Vegas places and never disappointed . Ok let's talk food: shrimp app is amazing!!! Edimame was a nice thing to Nash on at first . Loved their spicy tator tots (although not too spicy but really good). The fish in chips were really good !!!!! ( but they didn't have malt vinegar to go with them). People at my table got the pork chop , the burger , the calamari and everyone loved their dinners only a little sharing went on but I can't wait to go back to order the other things they offer.

Service has gradually improved my past few visits, perhaps because I've been dining in the bar area instead of the actual restaurant. Food is still pretty average. Would be better, but the burgers seem to be prepped..as if they partially cook them ahead of time & then finish them off to order.

I liked this place when it was Chuck's Manufacturing and now I like it every better! Our waitress was so nice, super attentive. I cannot remember her name, she was a light brunette with a little hint of an accent. Anyways, she was great to me and my 6 co-workers. Decor is much better now, was a tad too kitschy for my liking before the remodel. Now it's much more modern and calming. Food was wonderful-I had the filet mignon cobb and some fries and my co-workers all loved their sandwiches and tacos! At the end, our waitress brought out a complimentary dessert tray and it just really sealed the deal for me. Love those unexpected acts of kindness :) This place is delicious, not too expensive, and in a great location with great service. Highly recommended!

Maybe I'm having flash backs to the previous restaurant that occupied this location, but the meat skillet I had here for breakfast was OK but overpriced. For $14, not counting tax and tip, I received a slightly cold, tiny portion on a small brown ceramic skillet. The decor is undeniably cool, but I place very little weight on ambiance. Service was OK. My waitress gave me the wrong check, but otherwise did a fine job. If you want an awesome breakfast, go to Wildberry Cafe. I would've gone there, but the wait was over an hour long. Try to go early in the day to avoid the rush.

I had walked by and it looked like a good bar space. I stopped in with the idea of eating dinner so I sat at the bar. The service was a little slow so I just had an Old Fashioned. I ended up trying a flatbread which was really good.

I came here with my co-workers for lunch. We made reservations so we did not have to wait to get seated upon arrival. However, the restaurant wasn't too packed when we got here so I think you would be ok if you came here without making reservations. It might also depend on the day. I came here on a Wednesday. Everyone was pleased with their meal here. We order either a burger, prime rib sandwich or tacos. I will review on what I ate. Iron Chef Burger ($14) - comes with your choice of Tuscan fries or spicy tots [both delicious]. Burger with extra sharp cheddar cheese, red onion jam (kind of like grilled onions in a way), and fancy sauce. I enjoyed the burger along with the "tots." A delicious, food coma kind of meal. The meat was cooked medium rare the way I like it and the tots came out crispy and warm! YUM. Prime Rib - my co-worker ordered and it and was HUGE and she enjoyed it as well. Customer Service - it was good..friendly and prompt service. No complaints. Atmosphere - spacious, good for groups or with anyone really. Parking - you might need to walk a little to find street parking around the area since this is Michigan Ave. I would highly recommend taking the CTA Red Line to Lake and walking northeast to get here. It's not a bad walk, but then again nothing is a far walk for me.. I would come here again.

Pretty good (expensive) food in an upscale atmosphere. I had the BBQ chicken flatbread, which ended up looking more like a pizza. Pretty good, but not entirely filling for $12. You also don't get a side. I snagged some spicy tater tots from my girlfriend and those were quite good. Depending on when you show up to Chuck's, they may not let you sit in the dining room. Why? "They need to switch it over from lunch to dinner." We showed up around 2 on a Saturday, and although we had a group of ten, they wouldn't let us sit in the dining room. So all ten of us (TEN!) huddled around three tiny round tables we shoved together. When the food came out, we immediately had to discard serving plates so we'd have enough room to place things on the table. I had one hand on my plate the whole time. If I hadn't, it surely would have been knocked into my lap. Really, how many hours does it take to "switch over" a dining room? During our entire visit, I didn't see a single person back there "switching it over." That was just asinine.

Award winning burger was pretty solid, we also ordered spinach dip and pizza appetizers which were both good as well. Great drink menu and cool bar area if you are looking to watch a game. Would recommend doing single version of burger which is $12 versus $24 for double and could feed 2 people. 3 stars because nothing here blew me away and for the price I would expect better.

Came in here this past Sunday around 10:40 in the morning. They were during a transition of breakfast and lunch. We wanted lunch we we had to wait about 30 minutes, not even. We got the waffle fries, the Iron Chef burger, and the mushroom sandwich. The waffles fries were delicious, the Iron Chef burger was good, and the mushroom sandwich was okay. Overall it was good food. Our waitress was super kind and she felt bad for us having to wait for lunch so she actually picked up our tab for the waffle fries! That's why they get 4 stars from me.

If you look in from Michigan Ave, you wouldn't be able to tell that Chuck's has a nice private dining in addition to the bar area. But it doesn't and it's very classy, creating an intimate environment. But the environment comes with the high-end price tag, so be aware. Worth it for special occasions, but not a very frequent occurrence. The crispy cream shrimp were very tasty, and came in a large portion. The apple cider glaze that came with the pork chop was the highlight of the meal, just delicious. It came with tempura brussel sprouts, ask if you can swap those out with another side (you can't taste the sprouts, more like fried potato chips). The NY strip was a solid steak. The sticky toffee pudding cake was very tasty (because it was oh so sugary).

Had dinner here on Friday--- their burger is delicious and juicy, and the chili shrimp appetizer is fantastic (albeit a bit spicy, but I guess you should expect that). I kept on seeing plates of the chili shrimp being brought out, so it's definitely one of their popular dishes. Chuck's, you're always a good go-to place!

I came here for lunch on a Friday. My coworker and I sat in the front bar area by the window. Lauren was our server and she was super cool and had good recs. I went with the crispy chicken wrap with spicy tots. Her reaction definitely confirmed my choice... so much so that my co-worker followed suit and ordered the same thing. They had a cool special - $4 cans of 312 with 100% of proceeds going to a charity. Why not? It was a summer Friday lunch! I'll keep this review simple - the wrap was awesome and the tots had nice, spicy kick to them. It was definitely a lot of food too. I had the second half of my wrap for dinner, so it was like 2 meals for $12! LOL. I don't know why I've never popped in here for lunch but I will be back again. I've been here for a couple of private parties so I knew the venue was cool, but now I know the food is solid too.

Junk yard fun it is! Not a way to end the night but great fun seeing our kid eat it. I ordered coffee and cigarettes very flavorful for a petite being like myself. Did not have their 5$ glass of wine but they offered it on Thursday evening. Very convenient since we are staying on site at hard rock hotel. They have two restaurant venues to choose from this one closes at 11 other closes at t on weekdays. Good for kids.. "I think". We are a family of three and our kid is 10 but his demeanor is 15.. Not a fancy place but decent.

I've seen this place many times, but never went in because of its affiliation with the Hard Rock Hotel, which is a tacky, touristy deterrent for me. Then I met someone who told me I was judging prematurely and to give it a shot anyway... and boy I'm glad I did. This is truly elevated food. It's upscale, playful but perfectly balanced. Let me start by how I started: At the bar. I met my wife there after work on a cold, bitter, windy day (aka: Any time in Chicago between Halloween and Memorial Day). I was a little frightened as I opened the door and it screamed! The wind channeled into the entryway in such a manner that it howled like a banshee - with my reaction being much to the delight of the other bar patrons and turned into a game for everyone there (who surprisingly turned out to be locals and were not staying in the hotel - a good sign for me). The super-personable bartender immediately made me feel right at home and poured me a martini the size of my head, but expertly poured. After some laughs at the bar, friendly chatter with the staff and other patrons, we then get seated in the dining area, which has a completely different look from the bar. I was told it was inspired by the James Bond film "Goldfinger," but, as a Bond aficionado, I'd say it was more "Dr. No," with smatterings of "Diamonds Are Forever." We were seated in "the library" section, and really liked it! Nested in the corner, surrounded by books on Art and Design, we start our dinner. We began with the margarita flatbread - which was crusty, perfectly charred on the bottom, had incredibly fresh toppings, nicely balanced and incredibly tasty. My only complaint is that the center section was a tad underdone, but still good. Martini #2 arrives, and this was MY test. So many times when I get one at the bar, then order a second at the table, I get different gin, or sometimes something so completely off that tastes like strawberries and shoes (Wildfire) - this one was spot-on, much to my palette and liver's delight. Being in Chicago, we got steaks. She got the Strip, and I got the Ribeye. Oh, my... Locally sourced beef from a hotel restaurant? Wow. Both were very, very good, but skip the Ribeye and go for the strip - it was that much better. Finally, for dessert: French Silk Pie... light, airy and decadent! It's a must, AND big enough to share. The best part of the meal, however, were the Tempura Fried Brussels Sprouts Leaves I got as a side! These... are... crack. I found myself unconsciously eating them one by one - I couldn't stop! They are simply amazing! Kerry Simon knows what he's doing, and we will definitely be back. So if you have a prejudice against Hard Rock Hotel like I did, fear not. You will have an excellent meal. This place is an under-used gem.

Came in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch with coworkers. Atmosphere: nice, not doing too much. Server: polite and attentive. Menu: nice spread of all American favorites with a touch of everything else - burgers, wings, tacos. Food: delishuss! Only faint traces of turkey burger with truffle fries, barbecue wings and surf & turf tacos left behind! My tacos came with guac, sour cream and salsa. muy excellente!

I've heard of Kerry Simon from his restaurant in Los Angeles, so I wanted to check his restaurant in Chicago. I went with a friend for happy hour. Food: We split 2 appetizers - the waffle fry nachos and the veal meatballs. The waffles fry nachos consisted of short ribs, habanero queso, green onion, tomato and guacamole cream. It was very satisfying and filling. Also, the nachos were half off ($6) since it was a special the day we went (Friday). The veal meatballs were in a sherry foie gras cream and served with crostini and pretzel bread. I kept dipping my bread in the sauce because it was so good and the meatballs were juicy and tender. Drinks: There was also a drink special for Effen cocktails ($5). I ordered one with Blackberry vodka and tonic. Our server noticed that I wasn't really drinking it, so he added some simple syrup and it tasted better. My friend got the blackberry bramble with angel's envy whiskey, blackberry brandy, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and blackberries and enjoyed it. Our server was really friendly and I loved the decor of the restaurant. Even though I didn't enjoy my drink, I thought the food was delicious. I want to come back and try their iron chef burger.

I went last night the service was bad the drink I order was the watermelon motto it came wrong I asked the waitress about the food what was good. I got the meat loaf and mash potatoes and succotash I asked what was in the succotash the waitress said lime beans and corn and red pepper. When it came it was mix vegetables I asked for something else she told me what the chief said I could have as my sides I asked for the menu to pick a side she said I told you what two side you could order but I will asked. When the bill came I asked if the drink could be taken off it was not made wright and I didn't like it it took about 15 min before someone came to talk to me and when she came she listed and said we don't have lime beans and corn and waitress didn't say that she was not standing there when I placed my order I will not go back.

This place is just fine if you find yourself going to the Harris Theater (or some other venue nearby) and the other restaurants are too far or too busy for your taste. Let's be honest right now: this place is overpriced. I know that it's right on Michigan Ave. and idiot tourists will pay this much and not blink an eye, but this place is overpriced. A Coors Light draft is $7. Come on, you know that's $2. Tops. Most menu items are à la carte and are over $15 each. The pluses here are: close to downtown stuff and not packed on a Friday night. The Tavern At The Park was PACKED, so we came here and were seated right away. The Tavern is definitely more expensive, so this place was a better alternative to waiting in the packed and expensive Tavern. Menu is small, but the food is good. I split the double burger with my mom and the "special sauce" and onion jam were excellent garnishes. My friend really, really enjoyed the brisket chili and was surprised that it was so good. The appetizers were big and very rich, so maybe stick with the edamame or don't get anything at all because you'll be half-full by the time your food arrives. All in all, a good place to go if you're in the area. I won't go out of my way to come here since there's a bunch of other places just like it in Wicker Park and other neighborhoods near me (read: all of River North), but it's worth it if you're in the hotel or in the Loop some night.

Great service, Great food makes Steve a happy traveler. It's been a long day. Traveled from L A to Chicago. We arrives at our hotel (Hard Rock Hotel) around 7pm and we were hungry, we didn't have lunch. I really didn't want to go out side. It's cold & I was tired. Luckily, Chuck's was in the Hotel. The place looks very nice. Dimly lit and had a very good vibe to it. Here's the rundown: Apple & Endive Salad "Watercress, candied pecans, bleu cheese, white wine vinaigrette" - Wow, fresh and tasty salad. The vinaigrette was light and not over powering. Candied pecans brought the sweetness and crunch. Apples and endive worked hand in hand perfectly together. The blue cheese just popped the flavors together. Delicious!! Lollipop Lamb Chop "10 oz., red wine demi, garnish of bacon greens" - OMG! What a perfect dish. Lamb chops were cooked perfect medium rare. So so delicious. No gaminess whatsoever. Yum! Red wine demi was outstanding. It elevated the already good lamb. Then you taste the "garnish" it was a bed of bacon greens. What are bacon greens? I don't know, but I want more, a lot more. It's not collard greens, but it's as close to that taste as I can describe but multiply it by ten. Super good. Salmon "horseradish creme fraiche, bacon greens, tempura corn" - This dish is suppose to made with Steelhead Trout but our waiter informed us that they were substituting the fish with salmon (the trout they got was not good, I like that, honesty and they didn't serve bad fish to their customer) - the salmon was so moist. Delicious dish. This also had the bacon greens. YES!! Creamed Spinach "bechamel, parmesan, white cheddar" - one of the best creamed spinach dish I've ever had. Another delicious dish. S'mores Bread Pudding "milk chocolate, graham crackers, marshmallow sauce, s'mores streusel" - I'm not a sweets guy, but this was decadent. A blob piece of marshmallow on top that was torched. Milk chocolate bread pudding in the bottom. So GOOD. Service - our waiter John was excellent. Friendly and was on point all night. What a great treat at the end of a hectic day. I will sleep soundly tonight, what a meal!! I'm rating this place a 5 star PLUS. I'll definitely be back!!

Came here by a friend's recommendation while on vacation. Ordered the double iron chef burger expecting another gormet burger but it far exceeded my expectations. The burger was cooked to perfection, bread was fresh and didn't become soggy, and whatever's in the fancy sauce made the burger. Also had the truffle Mac and cheese since I've had it at other restaurants by the same chef and it complemented the burger well. The ambiance was great, service was friendly but not annoying, and the price point was perfect for my budget. Would highly recommend if you're in the Chicago area and will definitely be back!

I was in Chicago for business and needed a quick breakfast. Service was good and the staff was friendly. I got the Meat Lovers Skillet with scrambled eggs. The eggs were perfect! The hash browns (more like homefries) needed a little more flavor but other than that, it was very good.

this place is next to/attached to the hard rock hotel off michigan ave. cute decor in here! I bought a Gilt City deal...which turned out to an awesome deal. It included two appetizers, soups or salads, two entrees, two cocktails, one side and one dessert. My boyfriend and I ordered the Pirate's Booty and Strawberry Fields cocktails to start off with. The Pirate's Booty was stronger than we had anticipated. The Strawberry one was light and refreshing. Food wise...we got the sausage pail, margherita flatbread, the new york strip, the bone in ribeye, twiced bake potato and the coconut creme brulee. The sausage pail came with 3 different mustards...none of which I liked. Not that I'm much of a fan of mustard anyway. But the beer battered sausages and spicy sausages were yummy. The flatbread was more pizza-like than a flatbread but still good. My bone in ribeye was so good. I ordered it rare, but I think it was more like a rare plus. Not a big deal. It was perfectly seasoned. The new york strip wasn't bad. Not as tender as the ribeye of course. But still decent. The creme brulee didn't have a strong coconut flavor, but it was really good anyway. We ended up ordering another round of drinks- the northern star and summer breeze. holy cow...the northern star tasted like straight up alcohol. i couldn't finish it. the summer breeze was pretty good though. our waiter was super nice and helpful. i think they were slightly short staffed so he was running back and forth a lot, but overall he did a good job.

Since our hotel was right around the corner, my friend and I decided to check it out. We made a dinner reservation for 8pm and when we got there, we were greeted and seated right away. We thought that it was going to be super busy since it was a Friday night, but the section we were seated in wasn't too bad. Everything was reasonably priced especially for the amount of food you get. Kevin was our server and he was such a nice guy! Very prompt and sweet. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and they give you a generous amount. The calamari wasn't too heavy and the batter was very light. The saffron aioli was a great touch as well. As my entree, I had the citrus braised short ribs. Kevin said that it was good choice and I took his word for it. The short ribs were so tender and were sitting on top of a bed of sweet potato purée and I was amazed how all the flavors blended so well. I was really considering just ordering a plate of the sweet potato purée by itself lol! Also recommend getting the twice baked potatoes and Mac and cheese as a side! My friend ordered the organic chicken and she couldn't stop talking about how good it was. I tried a piece and the chicken melted in my mouth. So good! Definitely check this place out!

Chucks is awesome! I'm vegan and it's always difficult to find food I can eat in a non-vegan restaurant. Whenever I visit Chucks, I can always count on the bartender, Josh C., to go the extra mile and request the chef for me. Chef Raymone always comes out of the kitchen to greet me, and caters to my food preferences. Today, he made a Margherita Flatbread that was AMAZING and of course all vegan :-) thank you Josh C and Chef Raymone for always making me feel special! 5 stars!

Nice menu, and not super expensive, with notable food and drink specials every day. I've been staying in the associated Hard Rock Hotel, or nearby hotels, for a few months. I come here twice or thrice a week. I regularly overhear fellow patrons raving about the various food dishes. The flatbreads are outstanding, and just $5 on Monday. I don't even like shrimp, but after a few episodes of fellow barflies making a point of declaring to me (a stranger) about their excellence -- one even insisted that I try one if his, and I did -- I ordered my own last night, and declare that it was fantastic. Very nicely laid out facility, with decent tap beer selection. The bar area is well done, and the main reason that I continue to patronize is that they have two of downtown's best barkeeps: Josh and Brian. There are other spots that can match the food and prices, but the personalities of, and interactions with, these guys makes a difference. I'm not the only regular who's known by name and "usual" order. The managers floating around do a good job interacting with customers, and keeping things moving, Moritza is especially notable in this regard. They close early -- 11pm Su-Th, midnight Sa, Su. The noise level is modest, likely because the frontside has such high ceilings, so you can converse. Highly recommended, by somebody who has been attending 2-3x/week for 12 weeks, with two months to go.

The food saved this from being a horrible review. My parents were staying at the hard rock hotel and we were looking for a place to get a drink and some apps before going on a tour. Their $5 Effen cocktails and $5 nachos is what brought us there. And the fact that it's attached to the hotel. A French waiter came over and was struggling to communicate with us. He informed us that they were out of Effen but they had New Amsterdam as a replacement. He didn't understand our drink order and then came back with the wrong drinks for half of us. He then went on to wait in some other tables so we just went and got our own drinks from the bar. The manager or other servers noticed and tried to help out with the table to appease us I think. Il from then on out the service wasn't bad but when we were one of 3 tables I just would have expected better service from them. But the appetizers were pretty good. We got edamame, fry nachos, and calamari. The calamari was great, the nachos were topped with pulled pork that was delicious and the edamame were well seasoned but spicy (perfect for us but watch out).

Overpriced for the quality of food. Our waiter (big bold guy) was also rude. I ordered a well done burger but I got a medium rare. I usually won't mind it if the meat is good but not in this case. $45 for a burger, small pizza, and 2 beers. Definitely not worth it!!!

3.5 Stars We stopped in here to fuel up before heading to an alley (a literal alley) for a pop up art exhibit party. Lol. Anyways my love of all things sweet we started off with the s'mores bread pudding. We shared, but the size is more comparable for one person. It was warm and gooey so no complaints there. I hadn't eaten dinner so I ordered off of the small nibble menu the miniature brats and sausage. There was nothing miniature about this dish. I was on meat overload. Not necessarily in a good way. The dipping sauce was just okay. Service was excellent and the weather was beautiful so glad they have outdoor seating. I'll be back if I'm in the area late night.

This was a disappointment. Don't eat here unless you have time to kill. Came here with a group from work for lunch to welcome a new employee, fortunately he's a summer hire because our time here was not the best. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter. Who then disappeared for quite some time in a basically empty restaurant while we looked at the menu. When he finally did appear again he then asks for our orders but then says just FYI, we're out of chicken. This really rubbed us the wrong way as he should have told us that when we sat down or when he first was aware of it. The lack of chicken did cause a few of us to choose something else but we ordered right then and there since we didn't want him going MIA again. We ordered apps that were actually good- the calamari and flatbread. And then we waited and waited and waited. No one checked on us. We sat there with the app dishes and empty waters. Finally our food showed up. I got the steak and shrimp tacos which were actually good. Some other folks food didn't look that great. The restaurant was never crowded while we were there so the mystery of the slow food has yet to be solved. We left disappointed. Probably won't come back.

The comment from one of my friends pretty much sums up my second and most likely last visit to Chuck's. That comment was, "I don't feel the need to ever go there again." Service - While our waitress was funny (when she was actually at our table), the gaps in time between her visits to our table seemed to be about the same time as the movie The Ten Commandments. Seeing how the place was about 35% packed I'm not sure why it took her ages to come back to our table with (1) our drinks, (2) to take our food order, (3) to bring our food out, (4) to see if we needed anything, (5) to bring us the bill. Food - So the spicy sausage flatbread sounds good on the menu, but it sure doesn't taste good. The Pork Belly Burger was good because of all of the cheese sauce on it, but the pork lacked in flavor. Sorry Chuck, but you won't be seeing me again.

We visited Chuck's while staying at the Hard Rock Hotel. Host and wait staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered the Iron Chef Burger with Tuscan Fries and also a side of Brussels Sprouts. The Brussels Sprouts were our favorite. Best I've ever had and the portion for something listed as a "side" was very generous. We split them between three of us and, in spite of how yummy they were, we were too stuffed to finish them. The burger was good. Meat was cooked just as I ordered. The star of the dish for me was the sweet red onion jam. It elevated the burger to something special. The double burger is huge and, even after squishing it down, I could not get my mouth around it. I had to eat the burger with my knife and fork. Order it as a single. Only the double was listed on the menu but I found out later they will make it a single upon request. I wanted to try the s'mores bread pudding but I was too stuffed. My only negative about the food is that it was a tad too salty for me but that is my personal preference. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere at Chuck's. I'd like to return someday to try some of their other dishes. Update: we went back and tried the s'mores bread pudding. It was delicious!

Delicious. Worth a taste. Decor is very eclectic. Mix of the 60's with a modest twist. Dim lighting to at the mood. It was very quiet when I was there only 2 other tables in the whole place, but that didn't bother us! The waiter was great. The white sangria was very good. We ordered the artichoke dip, that is an absolute must try! Wow was that good!!! The brussel sprouts are perfect and the crab cake was to die for. We also had the Mac & Cheese, that was only ok. Could have used a little seasoning. Would return here next time I'm in the city. Really enjoyed my experience.

The food was very tasteless. The chicken had no flavor to it. We ordered mahi mahi n lamb as well which lacked flavor too. I was expecting delish food for the price we paid. The only thing that tasted good was the Parmesan fries and that's it. Really disappointed not worth the 100 some dollars that we spent on the food. Won't be coming back or recommending this place to anyone.

After a very pleasant greeting by the hostess and a seat at a nice round table in the dining room, things headed south quickly. I'll start by saying the dining room was nearly empty at noon on a Friday (typically not a good sign ). The food was just okay, and nothing had a wow factor I would have expected from a place that has an Iron Chef's name attached to it. We were never checked in on by our waitress after food had been delivered, and food was very slow coming out of the kitchen...not sure they could have handled more diners had the restaurant been busier. Nice dining room, the vibe is kinda cool, but it's a no for me.

Had a date night with my boyfriend on a Friday night. The atmosphere was really cool and definitely set up for formal attire, but compared to the rest of the crowd, we were way too overdressed. Our server was really nice, but when we weren't sure what we wanted to drink, he took awhile to come back. I had the Aztec Thrush, which was excellent. We started with the spinach artichoke dip which was EXCELLENT. A must have, especially with the pretzel bread. My waiter suggested the Scottish Salmon over the Mahi Mahi, but it was pretty bland. That's saying a lot from me because I love salmon. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger though. For a Friday night, the restaurant was pretty dead, which makes me think it probably won't be around for awhile in such a competitive area. The construction going on around that area right now probably has a lot to do with it. But I really enjoyed the restaurant and would most likely go back again!
