Since going when it first open, all I can say is OMGez!!! This place is freakin phenomenal. To our surprise, after my husbands graduation from the CFD we decided to go to Barroccos; they have a BUFFET set up during lunch hour!! There was no waiting the staff was friendly like always and I LOVE their chicken vesuvio. Totally recommend this place not only because I live in Mount Greenwood and they are local but honestly it's a very family friendly place. Give them a try.

This place has a great atmosphere for dining or drinks. It is also little known that it does have a small back patio to eat on as well. The food here is always good, and the service is great as well.

Awesome Lunch! Stopped in for the first time, finding the place via Yelp after meetings at the Oak Lawn Hilton. Better than advertised! Sat at the bar, skipped the buffet and order off the menu. Unbelievable prices on bottles of wine, basically a long list of familiar labels with a good Italian red going for $25. Had the gnocchi with vodka sauce and a breaded chicken breast. Wish I lived closer.

I like Barraco's pizza, and we've ordered from their 95th St. restaurant several times, for dinners and catering. I was happy to see their newest site less than a mile from my house. My family--all adults, parents, siblings, spouses, niece and nephew--ate here last night. Our party of nine was almost too big for the place--we over-filled the largest table. (Tables are round and can't be pushed together.) The food is okay. Not great, but pretty good. Between all of us, we sampled a good variety of food, and no one was dissatisfied. The portions are large--we all took home doggie bags. But the prices are higher than average for the area. If you go out for pizza/casual dining, it's a little pricey. The place is new, and they don't seem "complete", yet. I'm sure they eventually add artwork to the brick walls and expand their playlist (though I do appreciate Springsteen! All the other music was Italian pop). Parking is terrible. There's very limited space on the street, and the side streets are one-way and/or cul-de-sacs. There was an initiative in this neighborhood several years ago to address traffic problems by severely reducing thru-streets. This has had mixed results. I'm sure the residents appreciate less traffic roaring past their homes after the (many) area bars close. But for patrons of businesses, it's a pain. I think this is the main reason so many business at this site fail. For businesses that rely on quick transactions (picking up a Tata's pizza or running into the hardware store) parking spots open up fast. But sit-down restaurants don't have that level of parking turnover. Bottom line: be prepared to park a block or two away and then walk. My main concern was the slippery flooring. When we arrived, it was pouring rain. The floor was a little slick from people tracking in water. You just had to be careful and pay attention. But the rain stopped and the floor seemed much drier on the way out--NOT ! There were still some slippery sections. This was nerve-racking, because we dined with my parents, who are in their late 80's. (My dad walks with a cane.) I escorted him, but I was skidding in a few places. I think it's the flooring. I hope management figures out how to handle this, possibly having someone assigned to continually dry the flooring whenever it's wet out, or maybe installing more absorbent floor coverings in the entrance way. I can't think of another restaurant where I've been this concerned about the floors. I hope this business survives and that I'll have the chance to eat here again--though frankly, unless it's for a sandwich, it's a little out of our budget. I'd rather get this kind of check at an old school steakhouse, not a pizza place.

I'll give this one a 3 star. I just have never been a big fan of barracos on 95th or some of the food really. J I will say that this one is allot better then the restaurant on 95th. I would suggest if you like a good chicken chopped salad I like this one even though they went a little much on the onions but still not bad. Parking will not be easy with it being off of 111th so good luck with that!

We came here for dinner for the first time since it opened and was thoroughly impressed. The space was redone beautifully with lots of light and open space; you don't feel on top of other tables. Margaret was our waitress and was so pleasant and accommodating. I can't wait to go back and try the patio area, it looks beautiful!

When I heard Barraco's was going to open in the former Corrigan's space on 111th, I thought, ooh, it will be good to have a good neighborhood restaurant there again. I'm not sure when exactly it opened; it hasn't been open long, but they have it down. (They should - Barraco's has been around awhile.) I've always liked Barraco's, but mostly I've had their catering. This is maybe my second time in one of their restaurants. We had maybe a 10-minute wait. The waiting area is furnished with big, comfortable sofas with lots of throw pillows. Just at the point where I was thinking, hmm, maybe we should try somewhere else, our pager went off. Wow, this was good. The service was terrific. You sit down, you get bread that's not just warm, it's HOT. And fresh. And I noticed later that there was a guy walking around with MORE. Mmmmmmm. The salad that came with my dinner was really good, and it was big enough that I almost asked them to wrap my dinner right away. (Almost.) My one (minor) quibble with the salad was that there was a tad too much dressing on it; on the other hand, the dressing was so good (creamy garlic on this trip) that I was kinda glad there was a lot of it. The greens were fresh, crisp, and fabulous. I had the fried shrimp. I don't usually get shrimp in restaurants; it tends to be a disappointment. Not the case here - the shrimp were huge and perfectly prepared. It was a shame we didn't try the desserts - their selection is pretty big. Maybe I'll just have to make a special trip, just to try the desserts. My one and only serious complaint, and this has always been a problem on 111th - there's just not enough parking. Please, Barraco's, make a deal with the bank across the street. Other than parking, this is a terrific place.

Met friends and family at the bar last week. First time there. It was very nice inside. That's where the positivity of this review ends. We started a tab that got to over $200, they asked us to pay it. No problem if they were changing shifts but they weren't. They were afraid of us leaving without paying the bill. Totally rude and first time I saw that after working in restaurants for over 20 years. Overall we spent close to $350 there, tipped the bartenders ovet 20% and received horrible service at the bar. We tipped well because many of the group is in the service industry. We had to constantly remind them we ordered drinks. They didn't buy one round let alone a drink for anyone of us. We will not be back ever and I will let everyone I know not to bother. Worst service on the south side.

Two stars for the decor. Food is not very good and pricing is too high. If your looking for a place to drink it's nice.

February 5th, 2015. For my son's 10th birthday. He wanted so call good pizza and not our usual Nunos pizza which would have been half the price and more sufficient on delivery time..So since they're the one of the few who deliver, we ordered, paid $5 delivery charge and tipped $4 through grubhub. We called around 5 pm. After a while of waiting, we had to run. Not sure what time they actually came. We were out on the errands and the kids called around 8 pm to say they didn't get their pizza($35) pizza. While on the phone with the kids, they opened the door and found a pretty much frozen pizza at the door. I looked at my phone to see if they attempted to call..nope..Not once.......NEVER AGAIN!!! It was just rude..they don't give a ****!!!! The saddest part is that I run a busy fast food restaurant and deal with customers all the time and totally understanding of all situations but for them to just threw my food on the ground and left really disturbed me. I would tell all my friends and others about them. Hope they go out of business soon.

Absolutely disgusting. This is my first review ever. I've never felt need to but this food was terrible. Someone wrote they really enjoyed the grilled calamari so I tried it. It wasn't even edible. Tasted like seafood that had been rotting in the sun for a week. Pizza was also awful. They can't even put out a decent salad. Why is this place still in business? Well that's of life's great mysteries

I've been here a half a dozen times since they opened. The bar is well done and the bartenders have been friendly/outgoing. The food has been good. The Supreme pizza is better than their regular thin crust. Wings are just the right spiciness. They take reservations but they don't go by them????????????? (Insert Seinfeld episode here)

Have been in twice, first time ordered off the menu and food was good. Bread is fantastic with their olive oil, balsamic vinegar dipping sauce. Went a second time and caught the buffet which was really bad. Boxed mashed potaoes, petrified chicken, none of the buffet was appealing. Very low quality. Would stick to ordering from menu only. Place looks nice, staff great.

I ate here late at night on a Monday, and the food was nothing short of spectacular. The wait staff was friendly, professional, and fast. The food arrived in exactly the time I would expect. I ordered deep dish pizza, which takes 35 minutes to bake, and I had my pizza in about 36 minutes. I ordered the mushroom and spinach deep dish, and I was very happy with the taste, texture, timing and presentation of the food. Being a Southside Chicago native, I am am pretty picky about both food and service, and this place was just great. I ordered food from the bar, knowing that I was going to be writing a review, and the bartender was quick, attentive, polite, and professional. The ambiance of the place is varied, as there are quiet places, comfortable and warm outdoor settings, and various indoor settings to satisfy any customer. Kudos to the staff and the management- this is truly an excellent place to enjoy drinks, pizza, and the company of old and/or new friends.

LOVE love love! B-rocs! My absolute favorite entree is the chicken vesuvio---it's is very hard to come around a fine ,quality eatery on the southside. The opening of the mountgreen wood ristorante made me very excited! I no longer had to take the trip to 95th street for this excellent food experience, it was right in my own backyard! The new dining room in MTG is truly extraordinary and classy. It is definitely a major up-grade and baracos deserves to become a franchise all over the U.S! Only downfall is, I've had much better serving experiences in E.P. My server named, Amber was very rude and seemed unhappy with her choice of employment there. She brought out our salads 2 minutes before the dinners which is a HUGE disappointment in "fine dining" . I over heard her bashing a customer with rude comments and vulgar language while walking past to the bathroom. A little advice to the barraco family is to hire happy-enthusiastic servers to help create a better atmosphere. I then came in with my husband a second time and we chose to sit at the bar for the game, there she was again, now tending our drinks. I gave her a chance and remained content while she was continuing to be very rude. She practically threw our drinks at us and made me feel un-comfortable to ask for another glass of wine. Hopefully next time we will be taken care of by a more respectful/positive server. I noticed the two women sitting aside us making remarks on her attitude and it even opened a conversation between the both of us. Still love the amazing-ness barracos has to offer with their delicious food. I am just not very interested in dining In there anymore and would prefer to use the take-out option to indulge In their yummy food.

Best restaurant/bar on the Southside of Chicago! Bartenders are great especially Tony! Great beer/wine selection and I'm obsessed with their chopped salad and stuffed pizza! Highly recommend.

Our reservation for 7PM was not in their pencil and paper system when we showed up, despite being called in the day before. The hostess actually told my dad that he "must have made the reservation at the other Barraco's".. because he's old I guess. It was his fault. Lo' and behold, a few minutes later the manager who took the reservation the night before acknowledged that he remembered the 7PM reservation (that he took over the phone) but, unfortunately, they were not able to find a table for us. Because he/they/someone lost the reservation. He blamed the shift change for losing the reservation (that he took). Professional? So we waited another hour to be seated. To the manager's credit, he comped us some fried appetizers and a round of drinks.. but what we really would have liked to not have to wait another hour in their waiting area. No real closure to completely screwing up our reservation and setting a bad tone for the rest of the night; he never checked up on us once seated. Mickey mouse operation. Once seated we had to wait another 15 minutes to get our drink orders in. The waiter's excuse was not really an excuse and, instead, verbatim here, "I was busy with other people". That may be true.. but don't tell us that. Amateur. The food was good; not bad, not great. Maybe the $22 steak and potato is less tasty when your first hour and a half at a restaurant has been ruined by terrible service. Honestly, I hope we, the people of Beverly/Mt. Greenwood, can stop allowing restaurants like Barraco's skate by with such halfass management and service just because their space and beer selection are nice. Two stars for doing a solid job when we had a reception there following a funeral. Aside: why were half of the (unoccupied) couches in the waiting area flagged with a "Reserved" sign? This restaurant tends to give the impression of wanting to be as swanky as a Rush St steakhouse with random tacky crap like this... at least back it up with service and meal quality.

Good atmosphere, friendly wait staff, but slow slow slow food. The soup could stand to be hotter, too, was lukewarm and just didn't taste right because of that. The beer selection was good, the TVs to watch the Blackhawks game were ample, but, as I said, the whole meal situation took too long. The girl sitting on the couch trying to be stealthy as she smoked her ecig wasn't stealthy.. She should have been asked to leave, since on the door, it says they aren't allowed inside. Also, there are not enough toilets. When three little boys want to take the ONE guy's toilet so they can all text together, it is dad that I needed to go all the way home to use the bathroom. I'm not trying to be gross, but letting the situation be known.

We love coming to Baraccos. The pizza is always delicious. We also love the chicken, the caprese salad, all the soups and the pastas. The staff in the restaurant and bar area have always been nice, knowledgeable and helpful. The nightlife is great too. The outdoor area is amazing, especially at night. Love the addition to our neighborhood.

The new Barraco's on 111th is the bomb. They start you off with some excellent fresh baked bread and olive oile with balsamic vinegar and fresh grated parmesan on a plate for dipping. The bread and dip alone are worth a visit. Everything else was just as good, well prepared, and in oversized portions. I had the sausage and peppers, and they were delicious. Everyone in the area is always complaining about lack of choices for places to eat, well here it is, so go there and give this place your business. You won't be disappointed.

I would absolutely love to say that this place serves low grade dog food. However that would be inaccurate. This place serves mid grade dog food. And if you think its first come first serve you are once again incorrect. It's a free for all hurry up and wait and watch others take tables before your very eyes. Anyone who claims that this establishment is worth going to is mentally ill. I am NOT a picky individual I only require a decent meal at a fair price in a timely manner.

My fiancé and I literally live 5 blocks from here so when it opened we could not have been more excited. I've been here at least ten times and have had all mixed experiences. You cannot go wrong with the pizza (that they've been doing right for years) however food items are completely hit or miss. I've had two of their chicken dishes which tasted like pure salt. But then again delish salad and pasta. But Caesar chicken wrap too much chicken/dressing. Overall I love this place for the bar and appetizers. The bar is beautiful and fantastic. It has any liquor you can imagine san I love all the dark wood. They make my favorite martini here just like I ask them too! For my birthday last year I made a reservation for 25 people for tables along the bar. We ended up having over 35 people turn out!! CHRISTINA was our server and she did an excellent job! She was prompt, polite, quick and so nice!!! They need to give her props!

Although the food was good, the manager on duty was not very accommodating. I made a reservation on January 11th for a party of 10 at 7:00 on Saturday the 17th. O spoke with Jack who transferred me to a Daniela. She took the reservation and did not say that there would be any issues. When we arrived, they seated us a table that could probably accommodate 6 people comfortable. When we asked to speak to the manager, she did come over and unfortunately I did not get her name. She was very rude and said something about they don't guarantee their reservations and they try to seat people with reservations when they come in, regardless of how large the table is. She said we could get back up and wait for the next table to finish and put the tables together, had we done that we would have waited a hour. I said that we would not be back there and would appreciate her taking care of something on our bill. When the server brought our drinks because there was no room, he spilled a beer on one the the individual's jacket. After this instance we received some appetizers, however at this point it really didn't matter. The manager never came back over to see if there was anything else that she could do. Will not be going back to that location

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
