Having ordered a few times now they're pretty consistent in their delivery items. Their thin crust pizza has a great crispy/flakey crust and it's always sliced all the way through for every piece. There's a good amount of places in the area where you don't just have to pull apart some slices of pizza because of the wonderful cheesey goodness but you need to recut it because they didn't even cut it all the way down to the crust. Not ever a problem here! Which seems like a minor thing to compliment on but I've never experienced it with regularity from any other place before. The sauce on the pizza is also excellent, not too sweet not too spicey. And definitely a unique blend from the other (also good pizzas in the area) places, like Vinces, Bijes, or Skores.

What an embarrassment ordered dinner on a Sunday night at 6:30pm. It is now 8:15pm and still have not received my dinner. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Needless to say this will be the last time I order food from Al's. Now just got my order and it was messed up. Did not give me mozzarella sticks. 2 hours for a delivery order and then cannot even get the order right. What a joke!

What happened to this place? They used to be so great! They updated their interior and expanded, but the food has been on a decline. The pizza is extremely greasy and when we took a bite literally all the toppings and cheese just fell off. The appetizers are all gross I had their bruschetta and it tasted like I bit into a raw onion on some soggy bread. We also ordered the calamari which tasted like it had been frozen. I'm disappointed to say, I won't be ordering from here anymore.

Had a couple of notably awful things -- chicken lemone, which had literally at least 10 cloves of garlic in the sauce (not mentioned in the description) and was inedible to me; and a margarita pizza, which promised fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, and fresh basil. Super liquidy canned tomatoes made the pizza so soggy it couldn't be picked up or eaten. I don't know if I'll ever go back, probably not. The food is too inconsistent and unpredictable.

Al's, are you kidding me? Your food isn't good enough for your questionable service. We spend 67 dollars for a delivery only to have you forget some of our food. Not only did you forget, but you then had the nerve to call back and question me to make sure I have checked all the bags? Are you kidding me? Your staffs incompetence, and rude attitude is sad. Never question a customer over a few dollars worth of food...ever

This is your average Italian/pizza take out place. I ordered takeout from here and had a groupon in hand. We had the Italian beer sandwich and a full slab of ribs. The total was $28, so just a tad over my $25 groupon value. And we got a TON of food. Honestly, sharing the ribs and the coleslaw and fries it came with would have been more than enough for my husband and I to share. I thought the ribs were good, flavorful, juicy, and not at all dry. The meat was good too - it wasn't very fatty. The beef sandwich wasn't great. The beef cuts were good (again, not a lot of fat), but the bread didn't taste 100% fresh. I ended up dunking it in the juice to eat it. They also didn't give us the giardinara my husband ordered. We didn't notice that until we got home, and at that point, we weren't going to go back out in the rain. I'd go back for the ribs.

I have ordered so many times from this place excellent pizza! Today didn't want pizza so I ordered some sandwiches barbecue beef (delicious) and chicken parmigiana sandwich (awesome)! Just to remind some people that this place is no about pizza only! I also love their pizzas!

Stopped in on a Sunday after a long work day, ordered the Veal parmesan and soup of the day, bean and pasta. The service was quick and food delicious, big portions. The pasta was done very well and veal almost melted. The side garden salad was very fresh and was perfect with the meal. Soup of the day, wow, on a cold day like yesterday it was a treat. I will be stopping more often. This was my second time ordering from Al's, first time we ordered a pizza and wings. Again awesome food and quick service.

As a AL's frequent customer, I'm used to excellent pizza. But today's pick up was terrible. I get that it's mothers day and it's a higher demand but under cooked doe, lack of ingredients of choice and fistfull amount of olives just dropped on one quarter of the pizza made this special day terrible. In stead of pleasant suprise and a delicious meal we got a bad pie.

The food is great but your delivery drivers don't know how to drive. I'm sick and tired of driving down irving park and getting honked at by one of your drivers behind me. They speed up and cut me off and they keep doing it to everyone that's in front of them. It would be a shame if the way your drivers treat fellow drivers on the road would make me not want to come back.

I love this place. Pizza is always meaty and cheesy. Have also ordered the linguini with clams in oil and garlic sauce. Omg! I love that they remove the clams from the shells and chop them up for you. Feeds into my "lazy and just want to eat right away" soul. I've had the wings, calamari, mozzarella sticks, and the appetizer sampler. I got the hot wings and boy were the hot! My face was red. But that's how I like my wings. I always complain wings at other restaurants are never hot enough and Al's did not disappoint. Everything I've ever ordered from there has been really good. I've ordered from the Al's on Irving park and the one on Lawrence ave. Same good qualify. I gave it 5 stars but I do however have one complaint. Whenever I order a large pizza pie with appetizers, it takes no later then an hour. The last time I ordered, I got a small pizza pie, linguini with clams, 2 tiramisu (yes all that food for just me!). It took about half hour. Either way my one complaint won't stop me from ordering from Al's in the future. I just order ahead of time now.

Seriously, The best eggplant parmagiana I've ever tasted. I make this at home and after trying their's, made exactly the way I asked them to make it, I may never make it again...I'd much rather dish out the money to buy it from this place. Delivery service was good too. Quick and food was piping hot.

Ordered a pan pizza, cheesy garlic bread and a combo appetizer. The delivery came sooner than the estimated time and everything was delicious. The combo appetizer was huge! Way bigger than I would have expected for only $7.95. I would suggest ordering extra dipping sauce, but other than that it was great. The pizza crust was thick and loaded with cheese and toppings. Everything was so good and so much bigger than we expected. Definitely got our money's worth.

Honestly if you want less than decent pizza.. go here. The crust is gross. I would much rather go to pete's #2 on montrose. They have much better pizza. Don't order the wings either. The breading is soggy and the sauce is horrible. I highly recommend ordering from anywhere else. The only good thing is that's it's close to my house, but I would rather go farther for better quality food.

This is our go to pizza joint ! They are super friendly and we always get a HoT pizza ( but we do live half block away). They also have a great catering menu, which we received so many compliments on the food we ordered for my daughters birthday party. If u can def try this out. Oooo and how can I forget... The MEATBALLS are so awesome . Please add an order !

We used to order lunch from Al's weekly. The spaghetti dinner was tasty, & inexpensive. However, had lots of trouble with orders taking way over time quoted to arrive. Often times items were missing, or delivered with wrong modifications. Owner was always unapologetic about it, but we often let it go because we were strapped for lunch options that delivered to our location! Final straw was when the girl taking the phone orders asked us if we wanted to sign up for their email rewards & get coupons sent out as a thank you for frequent orders. The first time we tried to use a coupon to apply towards lunch, the owner argued that the offer was expired, even though we had just printed it out from email with an expiration date that was like a week away. He then said that the company that "handles" the coupons was a based out of Vegas, & they had put the wrong dates on the offers...That excuse came after he was so completely rude & pretty much accused us of trying to rip him off! That was our first reward for joining their email club, & it was our last. We officially broke up with Al's. We have not ordered from them since, & have been getting our pizza/pasta fix at Suparossa on Central. We've ordered from Suparossa a dozen times so far, & have not had a single problem yet! Good riddance, Al's...

  • Jack S.

I love Al's thin crust pizza...taste, amount of ingredients, how it is baked, thinness of the crust, lack of grease...everything about it! If I don't get it once a week, look out. They're a friendly group over there - from the nice lady who answers the phone, to the charming older man who usually delivers to us. The ingredients Al's uses must be good quality, because we've never received anything less than a great pizza. The delivery time is always under what they estimate, and everything arrives nice and hot. It makes me happy. I hope to one day change this to a 5-star review, because I wish their wings were just a little bit better (I hope the owner is reading this request). I must admit, we're lucky to have Al's in the neighborhood.

Some of the best Italian food on the north side. Ingredients are fresh. Awesome sausage pizza. Quality cheese. YUM!!!!

  • Mari C.

The food is as fresh as it gets it is made to order there is nothing frozen, and the sauce is made with only the freshest ingredients with their own family recipe. When I am back intown i usually order from their Irving park location, i introduced the thin crust from als when i was back home to my 11 year old daughter and that is the only thin pizza she asks for as soon as we land in Ohare and it is superb. Not a pizza chain this is totally family owned its DELICIOUS!

Where else can you call to complain on a thin crust pizza that took two hours to deliver and the manager hangs up on you. I know you might be busy, but for a very loyal customer, I will never order from you again.

We are on a quest to try all the pizza places in town to determine our new usual....our old one for years and years has fallen short, sorry Annette's. In reviewing now, I am trying to review after going to a place more than once. I think more people should do the same.....better picture of the place. We ordered a standard 18'' cheese and sausage thin crust pizza the first time we were there. We ordered it for pick up like always. Timing was normal. Pizza was hot. Got home and started to eat. Outside pieces were great...cheesy, crisp, right amount of assume and sausage was good. As we ate and ate and reached the middle, the pie was soggy and stuck to the cardboard....a result of the super light crust that was soo good in the beginning. I would still give the pizza 4 stars. It was good the next morning. We ordered another night... Meatball sandwich on garlic bread, beef sandwich on garlic bread and fries. Fries stunk...cold and mushy...yuck yuck. Meatball sandwich was good, the garlic bread really stood out. I love lots and lots of garlic, but it was small. Beef also. Both sandwiches were small. My husband and I split each and they were only a few bites each. I will go back. Not sure yet if this will be my new super favorite...I'm still looking. I will let you know when I decide.

We love their food, especially the wings. However, I will never understand why I can't have a quarter of my $35 pizza made 'cheese only' for my son. I'm paying for toppings on the entire thing. Incredibly frustrating.

I ordered a thin crust pizza with mushrooms and sausage. It was delicious. Delivery was fast and the driver was polite. This was my first time ordering and I'll definitely be ordering from here again.

Should be no stars. I am being generous. Received their menu in our mailbox and decided to give them a chance. Ordering online said 15% off first order. My husband wanted the daily special of gnocchi but it wasn't on their online menu. Placed my online order and called. Told the first person the issue and she told me it's under pasta. I told her I knew that but it's no where online. She told me to hold. Next person to get on the phone wanted to take my order. Told her the issue and put me on hold again. The third person got on the phone and told her the issue. She said she would add it to my online order. She said blah blah blah Gunnison and I told her no, that is not my address. Gave her my address and waited for my order. Our order came minus gnocchi. Called and they told me it would be on it's way. 25 minutes later no gnocchi for my husband so I called them to cancel. The person told me it would be 3 minutes more until it would be ready. I told the person that today was the first and last time I was ordering from them and to cancel my order.

I went to Al's this past Friday with my wife of 20 years, and receive sensational service by Sherry the manager. you would have thought that we were at a five star restaurant. the calamari and chicken was out of this world. Thank You Sheri

I was afraid that the people were going to be really mean to me based on the reviews but I was relieved that they were very kind and professional. Unfortunately I can't really say many good things about the food. This was my first time ordering here so I thought I'd go with one of their special pizzas. I ordered a small thin crust Margarita and some appetizers. I was told it would be ready in 35 minutes so I showed up in 35 minutes. It took me about 3 minutes to get home. The pizza was ice cold and the cheese had hardened like it was sitting around for hours. The tomatoes were little cherry tomatoes and it looked like they just sprinkled basil from a spice jar or something. It had no taste on top of being cold. The other appetizers were just plain too. Nothing great. We'll probably give this place another try to see if it was a fluke but expectations aren't very high. Maybe I'll go in 10 minutes earlier than they say just in case...

I love Al's pizza! When we first moved to the neighborhood we tried many pizza places and Al's was by far the best! I can't believe Al's only has 3 stars on yelp. They are way better than 3 stars.

Went to have lunch with my wife ordered 2 slices of pizza. Half way through my wife eating her slice she noticed something black on it when she moved it it was a dead fly. We took it to the owners attention and he said what do u want me to do about it very rudely. We asked him if he can just refund her slice. He said no ill give u another slice and u have to leave. I say to the public do not eat there bugs in food and horrible customer service. That was the owner wow.

If a person calls to order a pizza and makes a specific change to one of your pizzas, in this case substituting black olive for onion, even though your menu says "no substitutions", the price of the pizza should not go up $8. This is ridiculous. To make matters worse, it is inexcusable for your staff not to tell the customer of the outrageous extra charge while still on the phone. Could the staff tell that the customer was a senior citizen? It surely makes one wonder. Furthermore, when that customer calls you to discuss the issue, quit falling back on your built in excuse "it says no substitutions". This type of chicanery shouldn't go unreported. We liked the pizza, however, each of the families at our house tonight won't ever be giving them another chance. $31 for a family size sausage, green pepper, black olive and mushroom? No, I don't think so.

Looking for a new thin crust pizza joint now that Leona's has changed owners and I'm guessing the owners have taken their pizza recipe with them! Sadly, Al's did not do it for me. The cheese is nice, soft and gooey how I like it, but the other areas of the pizza is where it falls short. The bottom crust was soggy, almost no sauce (if any, and don't tell me I have to order "sauce",) and the ingredients (Al's special - Sausage, Mushroom & G.Peppers) were bland, tasteless and on the skimpy side. Come to think of it, I don't recall any mushrooms. If not for the Groupon ($12 for $25!) this would have been a very bad experience. But an 18" "3" topping pizza and an Mozzarella Stick app (standard/fare) and I only paid the taxes extra, not bad. With the Groupon deal I give is 3 stars. I would only go back if I had a Groupon, and right now they are available and I have no desire to purchase another.

Excellent thin crust pizza in an unpretentious atmosphere with great service. We called ahead for dining in and they had our pizza ready when we arrived, along with a corkscrew and glasses for our BYOB. Definitely a must-try-pie, if you're in the area!

Ok, so I had a really bad day yesterday...only thing I had to look forward to was using my groupon deal for Al's Pizza...Sooooooo glad I did. I ordered for pick up, woman on phone was really nice and helpful, and order was ready and hot when i picked it up...The customer service was totally awesome...very nice people and you can tell they care about providing great service...Got home and we absolutely LOVED this pizza...Had a half sausage, half pepperoni...Seriously some really great pizza..Even love the way they cut it, the size of the slices is perfect...The mozzarella cheese sticks were sooooo good. And the cheesy garlic bread was a hit too...So at least my day ended on such a positive note after all...Thanx AL's...and I will definitely be back or ordering for delivery...

Hey Al, what the hell. Who knew you make such great pizza?! This place, this find was a total shock to me, as I had no idea it was right around the corner from my dad's house. The pizza was surprisingly fresh, crisp and moist, with fresh toppings and lots of cheese. It was hard to believe from the look of the place and its location. I kind of chuckled, I mean laughed, at the expansive menu, in which almost every possible entrée, appetizer and deep-fried, late-night wish lists of food items was listed on the menu. Regardless, the pizza was very good at a decent price. I do not go inside but, next time I have a hankering for some Italian eats, I may just choose to walk over and check out the dining room and soak up the atmosphere, whatever it may be.

Got pizza by the slice and it was only okay. I wasn't a fan of the red sauce. Seemed like it came from the can. I am going to try a full pizza next time and possibly edit my review as I know the pizza by the slice tends to sit in a hot box for a while. Staff was extremely friendly.

Real good thin crust pizza . It's kept together well, cut great... It was tasty! Also they had the fried dough with powered sugar and cinnamon as a dessert ...mmmmm will b back!!! Plus the staff was really friendly..

When it comes to ordering pizza in my neighborhood I am a HUGE fan of Al's Pizza. I've ordered the Pizza King (HUGE) 3 times for delivery to my house. The deliver guy is always nice, even once when my doorbell wasn't working and my phone was off, and he was standing out there for a few before I realized he was there. He was still very nice! I took my sister in law for dine in to try the Chicago style stuffed pizza. I ordered ahead, so it was all set to go when we got there. The pizza (sausage/pepperoni/spinach/mushroom) had the perfect cheese-sauce-ingredient-crust ratio, and I am super picky when it comes to stuffed pizza. I love the sauce that they use here. The appetizer sampler plate was hot and crispy. The older lady (owner?) was so sweet, and even gave my daughter a chocolate chip cookie as we were leaving. When it comes to getting my pizza fix around my house I am skipping the chains and ordering from Al's!

We had Al's Pizza from this location about 1 month ago.We were really happy with the pizza crust and toppings, the Italian Beef was tasty, and lasagna very good too.Decided to order another pizza tonight.Called and was told 45-50 minutes.I arrived 55 minutes later to pick up the pizza and when I arrived home pizza wasn't even lukewarm.I called and spoke to a girl who put me on hold.Minutes later a woman got on the line and I told her how pizza was.She said,"She told you 40-45 minutes and you came in an hour." I corrected her, and she had nothing to say.I asked the best way to heat it and she told me.No apology or any attempt to be nice about cold pizza.Great pizza, but terrible customer service.Definitely won't be back!

I can't believe the ratings aren't higher. After my family's favorite pizza place went out of business we struggled with finding a new place that offered us the same great quality pizza. We finally found Al's and have our new favorite spot.

My new favorite pizza place. You can't beat it for the price, and it's always hot when it gets gets. In the 4 months I've been ordering here there's only been one slip up with my order but it was fixed and replaced in 20 min.

It just floors me that this place hasn't gotten better reviews. The pizza on the NW side is uniformly underwhelming. Al's is really good! I haven't found better up (out) here. (Marie's is good but it doesn't travel)

Great pizza and fries! My boyfriend and I order from there a lot and it's always great! Delivery doesn't take long and they're always friendly. We usually do cheese and the occasional sausage/pepperoni, but cheese seems to be our favorite by far!

I purchased a pizza king size with chicken and onions.pizza was over cooked and when I picked up a slice there was no Dow underneath the cheese certain pieces about 85percent was not eaten cause none of my family liked the taste I went back 2 days later told lady behind counter but she said I had to report it the same night. There was no resolution. Prior to that night I recommended the restaurant to my daughter and she ordered the 2 slice special one cheese and one pepperoni. The cheese was old hard and the pepperoni was made by taking a cheese slice and throwing pepperoni on top of cheese slice and reheating well slices of pepperoni were sliding off. Tried to order 2 sandwiches there skirt steak and pork loin supposed to be 2 of there best but on Saturday night they had neither. Needless to say the pizza is not worth going back for and since they don't carry the 2 sandwiches I am not going back. To be fair I have been there 4 times and have been dissatisfied 50 percent of time. Don't plan on taking another chance on going there again.

Getting there can get a little challenging with being located at a busy intersection and in-the-way pedestrians coming from the nearby park. Service was really the only highlight here as a light-haired girl (perhaps blond, don't remember) was very nice to me. When I got there, I didn't know what to get at first, but just when I decided on the 2 jumbo slices and pop deal for $5, right on cue the employee tossed the slices away and threw up the "no slices" sign. Talk about bad timing. Should of got something better, but I ended up with a small thin crust, which came to about $11. My pizza hardly had any flavor. The "very thin" crust did have a slight buttery taste but, it wasn't enough. Where's the sauce??? I tried pressing my finger on the ends and didn't see a drop, which would explain the lack of flavor, like eating a pasta dish with just the pasta. I was honestly surprised with how bad it turned out, considering how many great pizzerias this area has churned out. Don't even bother coming here.

I purchased a groupon for this place and decided to take out instead to dine in. The deal was great a pizza and an appetizer. I ended up ordering mozzarella sticks which were okay and Italian sausage pizza. I give this place a 3 star just because the dough was soft was and not crispy. I understand the place was very busy the phone was none stop ringing and customers waiting for their pizza. I will try this place another day when there's no groupon deal to give the pizza another try.

I wish yelp would have two separate star ratings. One for the food and one for the service . I give them 5 stars for their great pizza and no stars for their service. We recently ordered lunch from them and first of all we waited over an hour and half for lunch. An hour and a half plus for lunch? Cmon give me a break. Normally when we ordered pizza for dinner it came at a reasonable time. So here's my lunch story. We ordered an Italian beef, 12 wings and an eggplant Parmesan sandwich. According to Grub Hub we were supposed to get our order by 2:28. I called grub Hub and they said the order was being sent out at that time and to wait another 15 to 20 minutes. When I placed the order it was just after 1 so that was a long wait as it is. When I received my order finally the beef was small and with no peppers. They said I had to choose whatkind of peppers I wanted. So that was my mistake. I was short a wing. That may not sound like a big deal but with their prices it makes it a big deal. Their supposed garlic sauce just tasted like barbecue sauce they dumped on the wings from a bottle. Tasted like open pit bbq sauce. I talked to their manager and he gave me a credit on the wings which was around 12 bucks. So today I wanted to use the credit so I called and they said the credit expired on December 14th. I've placed orders here before and they must of placed the credit on another order which made no sense to me but they still wouldn't honor the credit and claimed they told me it expired in 7days and there was nothing they can do about it. I'm very disappointed on how they treat their customers. Hopefully I don't get sued by them for posting a negative review but if your on yelp you need to take the critism. I hear of businesses suing their customers for posting negative reviews. They just lost a customer.

First time delivery customer referred by friends 6 specifics in random order 1 - Toppings were generous, all the way out to the edges. Even the small corner pieces had toppings on them. 2 - Nice tasty thin crust 3 - Cut 5 times across for an 18" pizza. The pieces were just the right size & not to large. 4 - Timely delivery, friendly & mannerly delivery person (3/31/12 evening) 5 - Fair piece & good coupons 6 - Very Tasty Pizza We called & asked for the manager (Sherry?) to give her our feedback. We would not have hesitated to call if the experience had been negative, so why not let her know when the experience was positive? By her reaction, that doesn't happen to often. Al's is our new pizza place !

  • Luis G.

OK....here it goes. I ordered a large deep dish pizza. From the reviews I just read I assume that was my first mistake. The pizza came 1:20 minutes after the call. When the pizza arrived I opened it, and what do you think. The cheese, sauce and everything had all shifted to one side. I called and the lady and she said that all that they can do is pick up the old one and bring me a new one which to me is a ridiculous offer. We ate the pizza and it was horrible. The cheese was lumpy and not the cheese you imagine eating on any pizza. Worst pizza in Chicago hands down.

I've ordered from Al's a few times and I stopped by here yesterday while I was in the neighborhood and grabbed a slice. The slices they sell are slightly thicker than their thin crust pizza, but they're PHENOMENAL! Throw some hot sauce and parmesan on it and then you're really talking. Now, I grew up on the South Side of Chicago...so maybe I'm a little spoiled in terms of being raised on good pizza, but since I moved from the South Side closer to downtown, i've always come back to my go to place in the neighborhood I grew up in (check my reviews if you want the name and location of that, this is about Al's). I knew already that their thin crust was amazing, and their slices are great as well, but what really puts Al's over the top is the feel of the place. I hate going to places in Chicago where I feel like i'm part of an assembly line, walk in, get food, walk out. Going in to Al's for the first time, I expected that, but the girl at the register was just so nice, and it was still early enough that there wasn't a lunch rush yet and I actually had a conversation with her while eating my pizza. It reminded me of the neighborhood I grew up in...nostalgia...get's me every time. Long story short, if you're a transplanted south sider living in Cub territory...you gotta hit Al's Pizza, it will bring you back. If you're new to Chicago, skip Gino's East and Lou Malnati's, mom and pop shops are where the good stuffs at...and Al's has the good stuff.

Very rude staff, asked for a side order of pasta and OMG I thought I said a threat, the owner got on after the so called mgr could not answer why I cannot buy a side of pasta with an complete order of other food, and he just ripped into me we don't do that and that's it! OK cancel my order BIG SHOT! How about a little customer service in a day of none. My neighbors are also offended by their attitude's.

Another groupon is out there from Al's Pizza, so everyone, stay far, far away and SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Their service is HORRENDOUS and when you complain, they say it is not their problem! REALLY??? No accountability, no customer service! Last time it took almost 2 hours for ONE pizza, while saying it was just coming out of the oven, and even though I live only 6 blocks away, it took another 20 minutes to deliver! Sherri the manager is useless, and the owner is a JERK!!!!!!!!

Delivery: The pizza was pretty average. The Italian beef was decent except for half of the bread being almost rock hard.

I order from Al's Pizza all the time. Their pizza is good and their meatballs in marinara sauce are the BEST!!! I always order a side order of meatballs with my pizza. Recently I ordered a tray of it for a party we had. Everyone loved them.

I have experience better. The sauce on the pizza wasnt all that. Ive had better thin crust elsewhere. We decided to walk in and try the place out and all i have to say is that while your working and at the front, customers can hear all the dirty things you say about your workplace. Was not happy to be there!

Took 1 hour 40 minutes to deliver. Pizza was cold. They said would deliver another only if the first was uneaten. I couldnt wait another hour to feed my hungry, young children. I will never suffer ordering another pizza from Al's again... neither will my friends!

The thin crust pizza is a lot to be desired. Tasteless to say the least. We had an incident with one of the delivery persons that was using profanity at one of our unit owners who made him wait in the lobby until the person who ordered came down, which is our condo rule. He was so obnoxious that I ended up calling the police. Al's should check references better before they hire. Bijes further west on Irving is far superior.

I ordered a pizza, and when I got it, it was all shaken up and flipped around. It looked like they dropped it about twenty times. The drunken delivery guy was with his daugter and would not give my money back. The owner said he would give me a credit but never did and took the pizza back. I would never order from here again, go to Pete's pizza.

I walked into Al's Pizza on Irving Park and damn I was very impressed. I just kept it simple and ordered a slice of pepperoni and a pop, the slice was really really good. The staff were super nice and easy to order with....definitely coming into Al's asap

The pizza is great, but doesn't fill you up easily. You need to eat quite a few pizzas of the thin crust to get full. They could have some better deals too. But overall, it was quick delivery and we enjoyed it.

my hubby introduced me to al's pizza by the groupon he bought. i like their thin crust pizza. we usually get the mushroom thin crust. i'm a fan of spaghetti and meatballs and i like to try them at all the pizza take outs i go to. and i agree with cindy n. that their marinara and meatballs are very good. and s&m is their saturday special at $5.95! their garlic bread is fresh. you can literally see the fresh garlic slices and it's nice and toasty crunchy just the way i like garlic bread to be! my husband enjoys their chicken parmesan dinner. i would't recommend dining in. there are only two small tables. al's is definitely a take-out place and/or delivery place. next time we order take out from al's i'd like to try their stuffed artichokes and lasagna.

Awesome Pizza! The delivery people and staff are fast and polite. Cheapest catering prices around! This is the place to go to. I can't wait to go back!

I gave the pizza a try. This is the first time have ever been to Al's Pizza. I liked the pizza. The crust was nice and flacky with a bit of crunch to it. The crust also had a nice butter flavor. The sausage and cheese were very good. I thought the pizza could use just a bit more sauce. The parking is something to be desired. I couldn't find any street parking available on a Friday around 6:00pm. I called and was told there is a lot in back. The lot was close to full, but I was able to knock on the back door and pick-up my pizza. One more thing. If you use a GPS to get there it is listed as A's Pizza(no letter L) I also noticed the same spelling on the back of the building for the parking information sign. I will be returning to try some of the other food.

Love their thin, thin crust - our favorite house pizza being Al's Pizza Margherita (fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato). Their sandwiches are also delicious, I'm a fan of their eggplant parm, with sweet and hot peppers, ohMYgawd, nirvana for the eggplant sammy lovers out there (you know who you are) Their fries are also a delight: hot crispy and plentiful. Service is prompt, we always do delivery cuz that's how we roll (inner city refugees that we are), and they always get things to us in a timely manner. Overall one of our favorite delivered dining spots - though they get only 4 out of 5 possible stars because of a couple of slightly bizarre customer service and food experiences we've had with them - probably just flukes - but for the most part, service has been excellent, and the food has been as well.

I moved to Portage Park just about a year ago and the first place I got introduced to was Al's. I've been back numerous times because the Pizza is always great and service is quick and friendly. I definitely recommend picking up because they make it so fast its just really pointless to have a deliver..unless of course you're just lazy that night and want them to bring it to you. However, if you really want it fresh I'd definitely advise against delivery. What I love about Al's is you can throw all sorts of ingredients in there... I especially dig their Spinach, Garlic, Artichoke combo.... Excellent pizza for thin crust lovers out there! :)

Al's Pizza is my husband's favorite pizza by far in Portage Park. It does have the best, "thin, thin" crust to be found in Chicago. If you like it more crispy, ask them to cook it a little longer. We're originally from the land of Imo's (the thinnest!!!), so it takes a lot to impress these thin crust lovers. Delivery must be good because that's the only way my husband's pizza from Al's make it to our house.

Pretty decent neighborhood pizza joint. In an area with so many options it just doesn't stand out. But a good thin crust pizza. The sauce is good, the crust is wafer thin, and the cheese is tasty. Not the best Ive had but it's a good pizza. But to be honest with all the other places in the area, I won't be eating it too often.

well this experience certainly started off awful. girl on the phone was really great and friendly when i place my order at 12:17pm. she said it would be here in 45 minutes. i figured "great, pizza will be here right at halftime." i called to check on my order status at 1:43 and she said "it will be there soon, i'm sorry for that sir." it's now 1:56pm, the 3rd quarter is almost over, and i'm starving because they still haven't showed up. it's seeming more and more that i should have gone with my instincts and walked to jewel and bought some food. but hey i just got back from vacation and i wanted to be lazy and order a pizza and watch the bears. okay well it showed up 5 minutes before two hours after placing the order. cold. and hey forgot my liter of RC. pizza is good for what it's worth, but I won't be ordering from this place again. two hours?!?! they're like 5 blocks from my house. and to the person who said you're lazy if you don't go and pick your food up yourself, i suppose you don't know any people that don't own a car.

We order from Al's Pizza at least once a month - and they always do a good job. We decided to try another local pizza delivery restaurant recently, just to change things up - and we were sorry we didn't order from Al's! Al's delivers when they say they are going to and their thin crust is the best we've found around. The woman who answers the phone is always very nice and I find there are very few businesses who do what they say, when they say it....and consistently deliver a good product.

It was our first time ordering from Al's and the last time. We ordered a thin crust half-special/half-cheese. The crust was thin...that was great but it was also SOGGY! Especially on the side half-special side. What a disappointment. The phone and delivery service was good. But i cannot eat soggy bottom pizza.

I had this pizza at friends houses, so I thought I would call myself. I called and asked for the biggest pizza I could get and the girl said she had a 24'' "Pizza King" , so I ordered it with sausage. The price was not to be beat. This thing was a monster, I wasn't sure the guy was going to get it in the door. I was in shock at the size and it actually had a ton of sausage on it. I can honestly say they don't skimp when it comes to toppings. This place is Great. I will be calling again!!

I tried the pizza two times now and still love the thin crust. It reminds of a place back in my old neighborhood called "Pat's Pizza" on sheffield. Anyway the pizza is good but i must admit the delivery is slow. I'll be picking it up from now on.

Pizza is great. Love the thin crust. It's really thin! And the service was no worse than other pizza delivery service I've had. This is going to be a frequent for me!

Al's pizza gets 5 stars for the pizza but delivery sucks and the parking for pick up is not the greatest either. The pizza is very good, "the thinnest" thin crust I have ever seen, good sauce , fresh ingredients. but the delivery drivers will piss you off. So I recommend just pick-up.

Pizza was great, love the thin crust. I mean, dh and I have been searching the NW side for great thin crust pizza and I think we found it. However, the delivery time was about 1.5 hours. We don't live too close, but still... We'll order again, next time keeping in mind that there's a long wait.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
