Nick's isn't the cleanest place, not the best looking but it is good. Whenever one of my friends is in town we always hit up Nick's for the pizza and pitcher special. The service is quick and friendly. The pizza is delicious thin crust pie. It is really good and when you buy a pizza there is a pitcher specials, sorry I forgot the price. Highly recommend this place!
Stopped in for a quick lunch the other day. Pretty unimpressed. Started with the navy bean soup...needed a little salt and pepper, but plenty hot and all the makings for a decent soup. I went the Caesar Salad route for my main course...what a joke. Iceberg lettuce, croutons, some carrot slivers, and a couple quartered tomatoes. No different than your run-of-the-mill dinner salad. Croutons had a weird taste to them...not sure about their origin. My co-diners Italian Sausage sandwich was pretty weak too. Sauce mirrored something poured out of a can onto a pizza crust. The sandwich was dry and in serious need of a makeover. While we didn't try their pizza, I find it hard to believe that their abilities constructing a pizza would be any different than those of their poorly executed salads and sandwiches. Can't knock our server, she was very hospitable. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
This is my on the fly-quick I want pizza go to place. The sauce is really good and the thin crust is one of the best on the Southside. They have a great appetizer menu as well. As far as service goes I have picked up and had delivered, they are friendly and always nice. If yo are looking for good pizza this is a sure shot.

Average Mexican restaurant. Service was average. Quick service. Not very busy. Food was average.
I eat here often and always forget to check in. The food is really good. It's always fresh. The staff is very nice. Especially the older short lady who is typically there in the evenings. Food is really good. No complaints
Best taco joint (and more) in the area. Their steak is cooked to order and always trimmed well. Chips and guacamole are great. In the summer their attached deck is a great place to enjoy your meal surrounded by a pergola and vibrant flowers. All around good spot to get some Mexican food.

Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery

Reviews:
The Tilted Kilt makes Hooters look downright conservative, so if the sight of a lot of 20-something year old girls in very little clothing makes you uncomfortable, don't go here. Otherwise, aside from the outfits the servers wear (and the fact that every time they come to your table they grab an available seat, sit down, and start chatting) it's a pretty standard sports bar. The food is standard bar food. The menu is probably a bit larger than a lot of bars, but all in all, you can get the usual - nachos, burgers, etc. When I checked in via my Yelp app I got a 15% off the total bill offer, as well as an offer for free garlic fries, which was cool. So, we started with the garlic fries, and they were pretty good - a little bit crispy, and well seasoned. For my lunch I had the veggie personal pizza, and it was surprisingly good - loaded with a bunch of fresh veggies. The crust was a little bit thick, but I think it needed to be on the thicker side due to all of the toppings. My husband had a burger, which was HUGE, and my dad went for the nachos, which were also enough to feed probably 4 people. So you definitely get a lot of food for the money. Was it great food? Not really, but it was decent. Honestly, though, I think the main draws for people are the servers and all of the TVs. It's worth noting that the Tilted Kilt does have food and drink specials daily, and they do put on special events, as our server told us about the upcoming St. Paddy's day event they had planned. Our server was very friendly, and our food arrived quickly. It took a little while to get a box for my leftover pizza and the check, but other than that, it was a good enough stop for lunch.
I usually only come to Tilted Kilt when a group of friends is getting together to watch a game. I've really only tried the wings here, which are decent but not the greatest. The beer selection isn't bad, and they have some pretty good looking desserts. Last time I went they had a yelp check in offer, which I was able to use, so thats a plus also. Always check for Yelp Check in offers!
What can I say, other than it pays to be a regular at any restaurant. I enjoy the Irish pub atmosphere. I'm a Chicago Blackhawks super fan and this place has as much energy, if not more than Madhouse on Madison. The management staff is extremely professional, personable & friendly, much like their bussers & servers. I have a handful of regular waitresses that know me so well that my drink & appetizer orders are almost ready as I walk through the door. Waitresses that never served me, know me and converse with me as well. Especially tonight when waitresses that weren't my regular were wishing me a happy birthday. So my best advice for you? Find a restaurant that you like. Become a regular. Respect the entire staff. Say thank you. TIP WELL. Then you may find yourself having the best dining experiences like I do. Thank you Tilted Kilt Chicago Ridge for years of excellence & great experiences. What do we do now that hockey season is over? LOL!

Papa Joe’s Italian Restaurant

5900 W 111th St
Chicago Ridge, 60415
Reviews:
Fairly solid, very old school Italian restaurant. I have been to the old location on Cicero many times. Saw the note on the door and drove over to the new place. They have trimmed down the free extras that come before your meal. No more pasta salad, etc... On the positive side, they make their own olive oil. The bread and olive oil were delicious -- the highlight of the meal. For entree I had manicotti plus a side of meatball and Italian sausage. The meat was good, the manicotti was pretty good. The red sauce was on the salty side. Overall I'd say the meal was slightly over-priced for the quality but I will probably be back for nostalgia and a decent meal.
I'm always willing to try any new restaurant along this strench of 111st street. Papa Joe's has moved from the old location on Cicero to the old O'Connors Pub. I don't know how the old place was, but by judging the amount of seniors there, it looked like a tour stop for AARP. When the air kicked on, they all complained right away. Opted for the lasagna, my go to Italian dish. Tried the minestone soup which very tasty and hot, but came in a very small cup. Along with the hot bread, which was presliced a thick slice. The lasagna was brought out to the table in a reasonable amount of time and it was a nice size portion. But it looked like it fell over on the dish and was not stacked upright. The sauce had a off taste to it, my dining companion said it had a sour taste to it. I do favor a sweet sauce and maybe that is what I was expecting. Our waitress was on her game and checked our table enough times without being disruptive. The menu seems to have a limited amount of items on it. They also have a carry out section seperate from the dining area. They offer valet parking, but don't know if that is a every day item. The parking lot has a limited amount of spaces.
I grew up eating at papa joe's and I really do love it. Papa Joe's isnt your typical upscale italian restaurant, but it's perfect for the location. It's casual, comfortable, and great for families. Also, it's affordable and the portions are huge. They have two for one pasta on Tuesday nights, perfect for a weeknight dinner. I've been getting the cheese ravioli as long as I can remember. I love their red sauce so much I don't want to get anything else. With a dinner entree, you get warm bread, soup, salad, pasta salad, and coleslaw before you even get your food. I highly doubt anyone leaves here hungry.
