The number 12 lunch special chicken sandwich (I forgot what it was called) was outstanding. Sofia is great and the place has a wonderful atmosphere. There are many different combinations of ingredients you can get on their pizza. They also serve beer!!!

May I just say, I am very unfamiliar with Joliet and its surrounding suburbs. My boyfriend grew up in this area and we are here today, SAT Sep 27, for a good cause. We are participating in the Miracle League Motorcycle Run this morning. The event could best be described as a pub crawl. The only difference, motorcycles are required to cover the miles to get from start to bar to bar... to finish. We started at the Miracle League Field in Joliet. Our first stop is a place called The Office in Channahon. I couldn't believe my eyes when we pulled up. The last time I was at this strip mall, it was over 6.5 years ago. The Office went by a different name but it was where I drove from Chicago to meet my boyfriend for our 2nd date. Not sure how much time we're given to eat or drink or both; a few of us decide to dine at Godmother's instead. It turns out not to be enough time for Jason and me. While we see everyone else leaving for Morris, we are still waiting for our order. Fortunately, we have an itinerary which has all of our destination's addresses listed on it. We tell people we'll meet them at spot #3, Fat Daddy'z, in Seneca. Looking at the line up, it is not a difficult decision to skip the second stop. I'm only familiar with Club Chaoz in Crest Hill and their food is amazing but it's our last stop. Even though it took- what seems to be- a long time for our order of Cheese Ravioli and a Side of Meatballs, it was worth being left behind for. The meatballs are handcrafted by the Godmother and my compliments to the Chef for being mindful of my Service Dog. She made them with very little sauce and even precut all three meatballs into tiny bite size puppy pieces for us. The Godmother is so friendly, I wish I could come here more often to support her business by trying different items from the menu.

My family and I stopped were presently surprised by the quality of the food at this place. Godmothers pizza is a world apart from the pizza place that used to be in this location. The pizza was delicious. It was clearly made fresh, with high quality ingredients. This is a family run business, and the quality reflects that fact. My family will be going back for sure.

On Tuesday night they hold a car cruise to raise money for charities. I had the 4 piece chicken dinner last night. Served perfect with fries, Great Deal only $6.00. Looking to go back and try their pasta and now they serve wine with dinner. I would recommend highly to stop Godmother's Chicago Pizza

Order took a half an hour to get. Ordered an Italian Beef with fries and mostaccioli. I was told when I placed the order the mostaccoili would take 20 minutes. Wife was hungry, so asked for the Italian beef when it was ready, rather than waiting for the pasta to be ready. Beef was just ok, but came 3 minutes before the pasta with cold french fries. Sweet peppers on beef were paper thin and belonged on pizza, not on a classic Italian beef. I have no idea why the pasta took 30 minutes. It wasn't baked mostaccioli- Just boiled noodles with sauce in a foil container. Nothing I could not have made at home in less time. Tables and booths have seen better days. The new folks running this place seem over their head. Slow service with average food.

It looks as if the place has been taken over by new owners. New paint on the walls, menu has been updated with lower pricing! We had the TOMMYGUN PIZZA SPEACIAL! If you like hot and spicy with a twist this is a must try! My mouth is watering again just thinking about it! They have about 8 pizza specials now with some great combinations! We will be back again with the family for Cruse Night this Tuesday as well. I was told to try the Cheesy Beef with the season Fries next time!

I can't believe this place even received anything more than a star. Food is horrible, service is awful though they feebly try, and they don't even know how to give correct directions to their restaurant. We gave them an honest try and wound up being sick to our stomachs. Their pizza was plain and simple - nasty.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
