I was with a medium size party from out of state staying near by at a local lake. After reading the reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We all ordered different specialities. The tamales were the best, but carnities, guacamole, fajitas, and enchiladas were all a close second. We called in advance but when we got there at 8:45pm all the chairs were on the tables and the floors were mopped. However, we were immediately sat in a nice area and had the place to ourselves. Our server was friendly. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in town.
Freshly cooked food and awesome margaritas. Ask for Luis, best server out there!!
Pleasantly surprised by our visit here. I'm originally from the area and usually go to Tequilas for Mexican when we're home. But on a suggestion from my dad, we gave Sergio's a try. I really have so many good things to say about our visit. 1. They have a big patio (which we braved just for the experience, even though the humidity was a little high for it) with comfortable seating. The patio is shaded (yay!!!) and has several fans to help keep it cool. A couple of them were non functional at our visit, I'm sure if they were working the humidity would have nearly been a non-factor. 2. Rice and beans are veggie! 3. House made spicy salsa. Very good, nice spice and flavor. 4. Great margaritas!! Bonus: they have $10 pitchers on the weekends. We split a pitcher between four of us and it was about 1+ margaritas each, such a good price. Margaritas weren't too sweet or too tart, nor did they have that overwhelming taste of well tequila (that you often get with on special pitchers). 5. Service was great. We were a party of 8 and all of our meals came out perfect, as ordered. 6. They have white cheese sauce. Not a cheese person myself, but we came with kids and yellow cheese dip is just unacceptable in their book. It's white cheese or a very unhappy child.

Been going there since I was a little kid playing baseball. Went to the old place before the fire and afterwards. Always good food and polite servers! We never have to wait very long and we always seem to get our starters quickly. Most of the time I get a steak and I always seem to get a good cut. Once in awhile I get one with too much fat, but that is about the only thing i can say that sometimes disappoints me. Great place to eat, but maybe a little pricy.
I am so confused by this place- is it chinese? is it american? is it mexican? is it italian?--- hmmm..... we went here Friday night for a birthday dinner- the interior is cute, and cozy- and decently sized- the menu---- ugh. so weird. they have tons of chinese dishes- along with mexican food- as well as pasta dishes- and they are known for good steaks--- identity crisis? who knows---? now, onto what i ordered- all dinners come with soup AND salad, and a side. i ordered the filet mignon with steak fries- first came the salad---- in a bowl that Olive Garden serves on the table- it was HUGE---who serves their house salad in a bowl that big?? it was good nonetheless- i just thought it was odd- and it had tons of veggies on it. The soup--- i was confused by-- the soup of the day was chicken tortelinni. Again, they serve it in the HUGE bowl- but it was less than half filled with soup- i dont care how much soup i get, but whatever size bowl you choose to serve it in, fill it! Use a smaller bowl if you dont want to fill the big bowl up. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection, and i ate it all- the steak fries were just steak fries- i dont know if we will ever be back- bc we arent from that area, and it was a special occasion type of thing- but i really cant say anything bad about the food itself.
WOW what a menu and it seems to be every bit of it is scrumptious You want general tso's chicken awesome You want enchiladas go for it And as always they will have you unbuckling after you order one of there delicious steaks or chops This place has to be the only highlight of Wamac

Centralia's best breakfast stop! It's where the locals go for generous portions of good food at a great price. You'll find attentive waitresses and plenty of soda/coffee refills! My favorite lunch item is the full salad with grilled chicken and honey mustard dressing. When we go for breakfast my step-father always orders his favorite, the MVP breakfast special. My mother loves the 'bunt'! That's a half biscuit and gravy and she orders an egg beater on the side. There is something for everyone on the menu. The owners are Cardinal baseball fans and have appointed the restaurant with some great nostalgic Cardinal memorabilia. Note: they only serve breakfast and lunch. Tip: come early, as they are always busy!
I absolutely love Corner Cafe. Their breakfast is the best in town. No one can beat their omelettes. The staff are always friendly and quik.
Occasionally, I get to Centralia to visit the cousins and we usually end up coming to the Corner Cafe for lunch. Coming from Chicago, I have to warn any Cub fans that they really, really like their St. Louis Cardinals here and it shows in the decorations of the restaurant. But they really have that decor nailed. The food is very good and the servers are patient and helpful. The prices are very fair and it is just a great place to go for lunch with just a few of us or a whole table full of family. We like it since it is easy to get in and out and the service just makes things very pleasant. We always leave full and happy. Life is too short and good food is to be enjoyed. Eat well and prosper.

A metrosexual guy walks into a small Midwestern bar where everyone knows each other.... No, it's not the beginning of a joke, it's how I began things at the legendary (in Centralia) JoNo's. They could tell instantly I was from outside their town, especially when I inquired about the beer selection and ordered a Heine in a bottle. There were no imports on draft and everyone else in the place was chugging Bud (I can't stand the stuff). It's dive-ish but not true dive, it's just been there a long time apparently. The staff became warmer the more beers I bought and since I was in town for a five days I wound up coming back three nights in a row. I even left with an official JoNo's tee shirt (in XL, no mediums in stock) and tried their food which wasn't half bad. I'll take a tiny-town bar in Central Illinois over one in the Deep South any day of the week. Here's to you JoNo's, who knows if we'll ever meet again.
