One of the best pizza places I've EVER been to! I've never eaten another pizza quite like a Quatros pizza...there's just something about the crust. It's been around for so long and hasn't changed much since I was growing up in the area. It's definitely a favorite among the SIUC college kids...it helps that they have nights where pitchers of beer are on special. :) They also offer whole wheat crust, which is a nice option. My favorites are their Italian sausage pizza and their taco pizza. They also have great salads! If you get a soda/water, make sure to keep your plastic yellow Quatros cup (they let you). My family had quite the collection growing up and I even have a few with me now living in Seattle. :P My only hope is that someday they offer the option to get their pizzas shipped across country (in a dry ice container, similar to how some other pizza companies do). I would order one every month, haha!!

Ate here last night for the second time. Each time the food was great and the service was worth another trip. The place was packed and I didn't have to wait an eternity to get my pizza! I look forward to eating here again.

Really good pizza in downtown Carbondale. We got a veggie which was smothered in fresh peppers, onion and mushrooms. We also got a "Challenge" which had some of the best sausage I have had. Third time there and they are consistently good. Up there with the best.

This is easily my favorite pizza place in Carbondale. It's not the best ever, but it stands out among some really bad ones in this area. I've been in here a few times, but I usually prefer to order delivery, because that is the best invention for lazy people. The pizza is a little on the more pricey side (as far as pizza goes that is), but it's definitely worth it. I always get a deep pan pizza with pepperoni and green olives. For a size medium, that comes out to about $14. The cheese gets really crispy on the crust, and it's delicious. The pizza always shows up piping hot, which is a huge plus. I also usually get an order of Cheezy Cheese Covered Garlic Toast which is a bargain at $2.99. It's two pretty big pieces of cheese covered garlic bread served with a cup of marinara sauce for dipping. Honestly, I've considered just ordering an obscene amount of this toast and pretending it's dinner. It's greasy and cheesy and buttery and wonderful. But dessert is where my happiness ends here at Quatro's. For $2.89, you can order a slice of Eli's Cheesecake in either original, chocolate chip, or Snickers. These are prepacked slices of cake sold by Eli's, and they are the TINIEST pieces of cake on the planet. At nearly $3, it's a pretty big rip off in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, Eli's is delicious. But you'd have to order like three slices to make a normal slice, and at that point it's $9 and you might as well go somewhere else and buy a whole cheesecake.

I live on Carbondale for almost 4 years, and this is the best place to eat pizza from. I like their Buffalo chicken pizza. AMAZING, but a little bit spicy I also like their Alfredo chicken pizza which has a great taste and full of cheese. the serve fresh salads with delicious dressing. Try their thin pizza. Staff are so friendly. For dining in your might wait a few minutes before they serve you. It is usually crowded. If you dine in they are going to give you their Pepsi cup. keep as a souvenir

This is the best pizza in southern Illinois. Rarely do I ever find a pizza that I enjoy eating the crust but this is it. I could eat Quatros all day, hot or cold. It's the perfect pizza for any day.

  • P C.

Over-rated local pizza place that simply isn't worth the wait. It is simply just okay. Being spoiled on pizza from both Chicago and Boston for almost 10 years likely factors in to my opinion, but it just seems like there isn't anything impressive to the food or certainly the 1970s decor inside the restaurant.

    Great food

  • James L.

They've got the best deep pan pizza around! Everything from the sauce to the toppings is delicious. Plus, the toppings are under the cheese, which prevents toppings from just falling off. And the prices are decent. I've never been disappointed--aside from that one time I had nowhere to store my leftovers while attending an all-day event. Don't go at peak times and expect to be seated quickly. Instead, grab a slice of Quatro's pizza when you've got time to savor the flavor. Otherwise, you might as well buy a $5 Hot-N-Ready piece of cardboard.

It's awesome. It's always been awesome and always will be. Spaghetti, Pizza, Sandwiches. It's all good.

Best in Carbondale. Best pizza south of Chicago??? Different. Don't go there thinking about Chicago style.

  • Todd J.

The best pizza in Southern Illinois, loved by SIU students and locals alike. While the interior looks unchanged from their Grand Opening in the 70's, the food makes up for it. All ingredients are fresh. Be sure to try the Quatro's Challenge Pizza, deep dish of course. They also have cheap pitchers on Wednesday nights so you can also get your drink on.

This is my favorite pizza in carbondale. Great pan pizza. Don't expect chicago deep dish quality pizza but it's still great and deserves a 5 star rating for carbondale

Best deep pan pizza! Plenty of other menu choices as well. I like their Italian beef and lasagna. Highly recommend for delivery or dine in.

  • Katelyn M.

By far the BEST pizza in Southern Illinois, and my favorite pizza of anywhere. Sauce is amazing, always wonderfully cheesy, but the crust is what makes it. This in no way compares to Chicago pizza, so don't let the "deep pan" fool you. This is entirely different stuff. It's thick crust pizza but oh so wonderful. If you're not in the mood for pizza, their sandwiches and salads are great. And it's super affordable!

  • Danae D.

A no-nonsense pizza shop with the perfectly greasy thick crusted pizza. The interior is plain and retro, but you don't need much! Order a soda and keep the cup as a memento.

Outdated but unique, great pizza! Great service and reasonably priced. 1.99 a pitcher! Will definitely eat here again.

I've traveled all over the country and this is the best pizza I've ever had. must go to this place if you are anywhere near Carbondale.

My favorite pizza! I love the deep dish. Go for the extra minced garlic! Sometimes the service is below expectations but the food makes up for it.

Quatro's is an SIU and Southern Illinois must try. Having lived here my entire life I've had Quatro's on several occasions and it really reminds me of deep dish pizza in Chicago. Of course while the quality doesn't quite match up to a place like Giordano's in Chicago, the pizza that you will get at Quatro's is the best in Carbondale and all of Southern Illinois. Beer prices are reasonable, as are the pizza prices. The last time me and a buddy went, we had the chicken pizza and it was fantastic. You really can't go wrong with any flavor option as they're all good. One of the best restaurants in Carbondale for sure.

    (4)
  • Nicole K.

The part I like best is that they offer broccoli. This doesn't seem like deep pan pizza to me, but the crust is still pretty good and likely unique for the area. The sauce seems a little strange, but the cheese is amazing. I'll have to try the thin crust as well.

    (4)
  • Rich P.

Wow! Honestly superior pizza from a little shop in southern Illinois. They achieve the balance between thick and crisp crust. Quality toppings and above average service make this a must stop if anywhere near Carbondale IL.

    (5)
  • Ellen R.

Some of the best Chicago-style deep pan pizza in a large area here. Pasta is good, too. The little dinner salads are the freshest & best I've ever had. Delivery/pick up is another story. Pizza often soggy. Get orders wrong often.

I decided that i would review all places in carbondale. How could i not do that. Its my first home in the usa. The first day @ college the served us pizza hut i guess. I was like america should be the land of awesome pizza but this tastes no good. Then comes Quatro's, and i instantly fell in love with the chicken Alfredo deep pan pizza. I miss it . Wish i had lot of $ back then. I would have ate enough to satisfy me to date. Keep it going Quatro's i sure will come back one day.

The pizza here is absolutely delicious! Not quite deep dish yet not quite traditional either. Kind of a mix of both! Super seasoned and full of flavor.

I'm currently eating my tasteless, dry veggie pizza. I am not impressed. Also my dinner salad is comprised of a few leafs of lettuce, 1 tomato and sprinkled cheese. Really?

  • Tom M.

Stopped here for dinner during SIU move in day. Had to taste the local wares and we were pleasantly pleased. The pizza was very good and the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was perfect for the type of establishment. We'll definitely be be back when visiting.

  • The J.

This was our place to go back in college, espcially on Wednesdays when pitchers of beer were only $1.99 every Wednesday. Pagliai's pizza a little bit better in terms of quality and variety, but Quators is overall better in terms of price and value and atmosphere. Your typical college pizza pub, but also suitable for families as well. My usual would always be "The Challenge", which is a deep pan pizza that consists of extra cheese, sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, and onion, except I would substitute the onion with black olive. The best part is the burnt cheese on the edges. Quatro's also offers sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes too, but none live up to the legendary deep pan pizza.

    (4)
  • Michaella D.

Their ranch dressing, and fresh cheese on their salads.... Amazing.. I swear Ive never tasted ranch as good as this... or pizza. Quatro's is the best pizza in town.

  • Ben C.

Went last week and had delicious pizzas with the kiddos. 2 and 4 year old loved the croutons snack and raved about the pizza too (I wuv my pizza...). Taste took me back to my days living in Chicago. So good. Mangia!

  • Ram R.

One of the best pizzas I have ever had..!! I love their deep dish pan pizzas. I go always with my friends and have great food with drinks. The ambiance is perfect and the price is reasonable. My personal favorite is their Buffalo Chicken pizza and I would recommend it for any first-timer. And they are open till 12AM which makes it even more special at the heart of Carbondale.

  • John M.

Have been going here since 1975 and Quatro's has always had the same consistent quality. Simply the best deep pan anywhere! Sorry no anchovies. Lunch slice is by far the best deal! It gets noisy at night so not great for evening meetings!

I am sad to share this review, but I also think it's necessary for the public to know & for management to address. Quatros has great food, excellent pizza without a doubt, but the staff is not friendly & the establishment is not family friendly. We went in this weekend with another couple and we were told by an angry waitress we could not sit in a booth with 2 adults, a toddler and a baby in a high chair at the end. We were asked to stand at the door to wait for a table. I guess she was hoping we would leave so she glared at us as others would come in and be seated. After a while another young lady asked us if she could help seat us, offering us a booth with a high chair in the end--exactly what we had been told we could not have. Before we got close to the table, another server was relocating a table of 6, with children, to the same table. Since they came in after us we ended up getting the table and they were sent to the door to wait again, they left. Once seated we were ignored again for almost 10 minutes, clearly we wanted that pizza so we didn't leave. While we waited we watched as the young lady who hoped we'd leave talk about us to other servers and again roll her eyes at us. She went on to say that we shouldn't have been seated there because it's too hard for the servers to serve the pizza with that many people in a booth. We felt popular and hated all at the same time & stayed because we wanted that pizza. Finally we got a server who asked if he could take our order, but we had never gotten menus. Oops. We eventually ordered and got our food, but no silverware. Sigh. Thankfully their was a smart man somewhere on staff that put our extra pizza on a pie pan and set it on a chair next to our table or I'm not sure what our waiter would have done...throw it at us? Next to us was a table of 8, their table was the same size, but they had no children. They seemed to be treated just fine. As we dined we noticed 4 college kids being seated at the larger table in the corner, what kind of uneducated servers are these people? Make them wait, save the larger tables for large parties. My advice to families is to stay away from Quatros, they clearly don't want our business, but when the college kids are gone in the summer they will pine for us. Order it for pick up if you need your fix so you can avoid those waitresses. My advice to management is to better train your staff! We pay taxes and we support the growth and development in this area that brings you more customers! We saw lots of families come in and leave because of the seating issue, fix this so you can improve your customer base and build more life long customers.

So far away from Quatro's and I still have dreams about it. I've had other pizza in town and nothing comes close to it! Each pizza is made with tender love and care. Thank you for feeding me on those lonely nights. Every student here knows what I'm talking about! Late night studies go well with a slice of pizza-even tastes good warmed up again! I tried Grimaldi's and pizza in New York....I can honestly say I'd choose Quatro's any day! The lasagna is covered with cheese! Do yourself a favor and order one! The customer service is amazing! The owner truly cares about his customers. I'm no longer in Carbondale, but if I ever find myself around there I'm definitely making my way there! God bless you Quatro's! Enjoy a slice for me! ( pictures included so you can see what I'm talking about!)

Overrated. Pizza and beer was fine but people make way too much of a hype over this place.

    (3)
  • Ted W.

the pizza here is outstanding. there's nothing better than having a fresh, hot pie delivered to your table and having to wait for it to cool to the point where it won't burn your mouth--I LOVE THAT! I haven't had the lasagna, but I heard distressing news that it was simply Stouffer's frozen doctored with their sauce. If so, that's sad, but it still doesn't take away from the great pizza.

  • Katie A.

As good as I remember it from my college days. We got the Bianca pizza which uses olive oil instead of sauce. Delicious and not oily at all. The homemade dressing is the best, like a watery ranch. Yum!

  • Rod G.

I ate my first pizza at Quatro's in 1979 and regularly ate here from 1985-1987. When we took our kids there during a nostalgia run, I feared that it wouldn't measure up after 20 years of Chicagoland pizza. Nothing to fear was our discovery. The deep dish was still killer, and the iced beer mugs never go out of style. I now get to Carbondale 1-2 times every other year and a meal at Quatro's is always a lock. Update 7/31/14: over the weekend hit Quatro's for lunch. The taco pizza was awesome and the pitcher of cold Rolling Rock was a great match. Still #1 in my book.

  • Daniel Z.

Having been from Chicago this is my favorite pan style pizza in Carbondale. I love ordering the meateater bananza. They have amazing ranch dressing that I use for dipping my pizza in. They also have the best Italian beef that I've found in my four years being in Carbondale! Excellent place to eat!

    (5)
  • Ubz D.

Quatro's is the best pan pizza in the land! High quality ingredients and delicious no matter which toppings you order, come here as much as you can and keep the cup.

  • Hang T.

Tried this place once. Thought it was okay. My fiance tried the Buffalo chicken pizza. Don't be fooled. It doesn't have buffalo sauce on it like he thought it would. It had a ranch sauce which he wasn't expecting. You can just imagine how disappointed he was to not see his pizza drenched in orange buffalo sauce. The pizza in general was fine. We probably just have pretty high standards. I tried the chef salad and the spaghetti with garlic toast. The chef salad was a decent size, but I didn't like the Italian dressing very much. Next time I'll get the raspberry one. The spaghetti was good, but the garlic toast was the best part. Soft and super garlicky. I like. Overall, I would say this place is decent, not amazing, but decent at a reasonable price.

  • D. N.

I used to love their pizza because for the area they have the best Chicago style pizza. I believe Wednesdays they have dollar pitchers and the cups they give you for pop you can keep. No one goes here and doesn't keep the cup! It's a place you definitely won't forget!

Special meal, no diet tonight--great dinner; special shout out to our waitress Nicole, you rock!!! Best pizza in Carbondale.

  • Amy R.

Best pizza place in Southern Illinois! It definitely a Carbondale tradition! It is a deep dish pizza full of yummy cheese and delicious toppings. We recently got a pepperoni and bacon, but we always order it with light sauce (they pile it on).

  • Kacie J.

Since I moved to California, I only get to eat here once or twice a year, but it's always worth it. I've only had their pizza, but it's great every time. We were pressed for time, so we called ahead to order our pizza. They brought my two-year-old niece some cheese and crackers while we waited a few minutes for our food. Mmmmmm mmmmmm.

  • Sherry T.

Fantastic deep dish pizza, great servers and delivery drivers. Other well-known local pizza restaurants pale in comparison to server friendliness, dough-awesomeness, flavor, variety, and salad/sandwich options. Only complaint: smart phone app doesn't work.

    (5)
  • Maddy K.

I really don't understand all the fuss about this place. Our pizza was burnt on the bottom but somehow tasted rubbery. I like my pizza to be well done and almost burnt, but this was too much for even me. It was really chewy, and I was just not a fan. It took a while to come out, and it was so dark in there that it was hard to tell which half was cheese and which was pepperoni. We have a bunch of those $1 off coupons, but we aren't planning on going back to use them. Even $1 off doesn't make up for the fact that the pizza is overpriced considering it's quality.

Quatro's and Pags have the best pizza in Carbondale. I did not have time to go to Pags on my most recent visit (and I have not been to the new location at all). Maybe next time. Two dinning areas with booths and tables scattered about. The smell of this place is worth 4 stars alone. I am immediately taken back to having Geology Club meetings here (I was the pres, always had meeting here for pitcher night). Deep dish pizzas are great. Similar to Chicago style, but not exactly This is what comfort food is for me. Still excellent after all these years.

Holy. Moly. I was bummed on a recent trip to the Chicago area because I wasn't able to visit my regular go-to spot: Giordanos. However, I was around Carbondale, had heard a lot about Quatro's and decided to give it a go...I am SO glad I did. I had the chef salad with homemade ranch and the challenger deep dish pizza. Both were amazingly delicious, which surprised me because I thought this would be another typical greaseplate cheap college pizza joint. I couldn't have been more wrong because it was all just perfect, tasty, and not greasy at all. Even the sweet tea was good! I would highly, HIGHLY recommend a visit for anyone within 30 minutes of the place. LOVE.

We will be back! We are from Indiana & this will be on our list to visit again when driving through. The pizza ranks up high with our hometown favs! We hit on a Wednesday night so we got a pitcher of beer for only $1.99!

Always tasty - There's a lot of good pizza in Carbondale, but this is my personal fav and where I like to take guests when they ask for pizza.

  • John S.

Easily the best pizza joint in town. I often do the pizza and beer on Wednesday nights with my friends. During the day they have great lunch specials. If you are from Chicago and want some pizza like they make back home this is the place to go. Great food and great service.

Best pizza south of Chicago! I am from So Il but now live in Oregon. Anytime I come back home I have to stop by For some pizza...it's a tradition now! So good!!!!!

  • David T.

Easily one of the best pizzas in southern Illinois. While they do call their pizza a "deep dish", it truly wasn't. It is more of a pan pizza instead. Still, if you are a general fan of pizza, then this place has what is takes. Both the crust and toppings are amazing. The way they cook it is perfect as well, with just a slight bit of browning of the cheese on top. The sausage is quite tasty as well as the other toppings. Getting a "deep dish" (aka pan) pizza here would be highly recommended. I have also had their thin crust and I wasn't exactly a fan of it. There are two problems with the pizza though. First of all there is a lack of sauce, which many pizza places are guilty of. Second, for some reason, the toppings don't stay on the crust. I am not sure if it is the sauce or the lack of it, or even the way it is cooked, but the cheese and toppings can easily slide off as one cheesy block from the crust. This doesn't take away from the taste, but can make it a pain to eat. Still, overall, it is a "must eat" in southern Illinois.

    (5)
  • Kelti O.

Personally, I think this place is really overrated. It's ok pizza at an ok price. It's not wow. I am a veggie and have tried the Bianca. But the garlic sauce under the cheese looks gross and the tomatoes were not very fresh. One thing I did like was that the pizza didn't really have a crust, the cheese went all the way to the edge.

    (2)
  • Meg N.

Not near as good as I remember. After moving to Northern Illinois I realized that Quatros tries and majorly fails at being Chicago style. It is still the best in the area but there is so much better pizza out there

  • Hina Q.

Being from Chicago and eaten a lot of different pizzas, Quatro's is right up there on my favorite pizza place. Ordered in from this place and had dinner with friends. When I first opened the box, smelled the pizza, and took my first bite, I fell in love with this pizza. They really have delicious pizza. I don't know how exactly I can explain just how good this pizza is. It's not like just any other pizza place. The taste, texture, the crust...it's all different and so so good. The toppings are fresh and the cheese is just cooked at the perfect temp.

Best pizza in the Dale. I have been eating here since 2002, when I first started at SIU. Every time my girls and I come down to Carbondale, we always stop here and always take a pizza home. Great pizza, great staff. I can't wait til HOMECOMING 2013 SIU!!!!

Great Pizza! I love this place! My favorite pizza in Southern Illinois by far. The service is usually pretty good and the dining room has really great ambiance to it. The only way to properly experience their pizza is to get the deep dish. Plus pitchers of beer are pretty cheap. This is a great place to come relax with friends. I would definitely recommend this as one of Carbondale's few great restaurants. My favorite pizza is the Quatro's Challenge(Supreme)

  • Kristin W.

ZOMG! This pizza was SO good. I had it at a friend's party a year ago and was so stoked when she wanted to go again this summer when I visited her. They have an amazing thick crust BBQ chicken pizza that is truly something to remember. The crust reminds me of Pequad's in Chicago - super awesome caramelized crispy crust.

  • Mark G.

We eat at Quatro's on visits to Southern Illinois each year and the food is consistently good. Deep pan pizza or a lunch special are your best bet. Toppings are always fresh and the deep pan crust is the best in the area! Had lunch on the lighter side yesterday: my wife had a sub sandwich and I had pizza bread. Both were average to good. Lunch specials (including a pizza slice) are M-F only though so keep that in mind if you're going for lunch and don't feel like ordering n entire pizza.

  • Leslie S.

Get the Meal for 2 - Small 1 topping plus 2 salads! Their French salad dressing is THE best, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else! I stop here for this meal every time I visit Carbondale. The deep pan is awesome, but I hear the thin crust is good, too. On Mondays, I believe you can get the wheat crust, which is really tasty as well. I moved away from Carbondale years ago, and this is one of my must-stops every time in town. Ranks up there with Winston's Bagels.

If you like thick crust, thick cheese you will love Quatro's. It's my husband's favorite pizza. I prefer Pag's because I like a thin and crispy crust.

Wonderful Deep dish pizza. Not chicago style but best in carbondale. the salads are good and the italian beef is tasty. I like the take home cups.

Tried and true over the years. I have loved bringing the frozen pizza on road trips to Dallas, where some of my friends are SIU Alumni. High quality ingredients, great service. The deep pan pizza is the best.

I enjoy Quatros Pizza. Yes there are many variations of pizza out there, but as far as Carbondale, it works for me. Good ingredients, cheese is more like double cheese on their pies. Unless you are "Takeru Kobayashi" expect to take left over pizza home.. They pile on the toppings...

  • Branda M.

I've had Quatro's four times this week. I guess I am having deep dish withdrawals since moving here from Chicago. I really love the thin crust. It's good and cheesy. However, I am not a fan of the pan pizza they are known for. The two times I tried it the edges were burnt and the dough was as hard as a rock. A big part of the reason I have had it so many times is because me and 2 friends can split the large for like 3 bucks each. It's cheap and good. Aside from the pizza, I also tried a salad with italian dressing that was incredible. I think I will go back for the salad and skip the pizza.

    (4)
  • Zach N.

I ordered the thin crust taco pizza. They delivered it within 35 minutes or so. The pizza was covered in cheap nacho cheese sauce which ruined it for me.

  • Elizabeth J.

Quatro's is okay. I've had better pizza and pasta but this place isn't bad. My biggest complaint is the cheese. It tastes really cheep and plastic like, and they use a TON of it. However their pasta is cooked to a T and their sauce is delicious. I wouldn't recommend their pizza but if you order a pasta dish with some garlic bread and a salad and you take the cheese off the top, you're in for a good meal.

Quatro's is my favorite restaurant in Carbondale. The deep dish is excellent, high quality cheese, sauce and toppings. Once you eat Quatro's pizza, it will be hard to go back to the chains. The salads have been steadily upgraded over the years from iceberg, to nicer, and now to fully modern mix greens. They make a couple of salad dressings, but they are all high quality. They recently upgraded their breads, so their subs are now worthy of sampling (try them toasted). Italian beef and the Ruben are my favorites. They have TV's in their "downstairs" (there is a step to the second bay), with the sound off. Great for kids, the waitress brings them out a snack of cheese, croutons and crackers while they wait, in addition to crayons and place mats. My kids love the place. If we sit in the window, my kids watched the train go by on the overpass, when they were little. They have iconic yellow cups for your soda, which have surely populated every college student in Carbondale kitchens over the last 30 years. I have a stack of 4 in my cupboard for emergencies right now. They seem to have a huge delivery and carry out business, but I almost always eat in. Clean, local owned, well managed, cheerful wait staff, high quality food, and reasonable prices. What more can you ask for?

Ever since I came to Carbondale, people raved about Quatros Pizza. I finally gave in and bought myself a large deep dish cheese pizza, with ranch on the side and a side salad with thousand island. Let me start by saying the pizza is not that great. There is something about the crust that I cannot pin point. Its extremely hard to chew. I have had better pizza but I guess for a town like Carbondale it's top notch. The ranch dressing tasted like it was store bought, as did the thousand island dressing. I have only eaten here once, and that will be my last time. I am aware though that they have great deals going on during the week, maybe that is what makes that place so popular.

Best pizza EVER!!! When I think of my years at SIU, I usually think about Quatros a followed by their radio jingle in my head! Everytime I have gone back to SIU I have made it a must to eat here at least once. We used to go every Wednesday night to take advantage of the $1 pitchers. The sausage pizza was the usual choice, but the Mexican pizza is also pretty damn amazing. Now I am craving some & I am almost 400 miles north...

Love this place! Best Pizza in Carbondale! First place we ate at on our way back to SIU!

Consistently good pizza and beer. A great place to stop for dinner before a night out on the town, especially on Wednesday nights (their large pizza and pitcher of beer special is great!l)

Probably the best Pizza Place in Southern Illinois. I'm a fan of the "Challenge Pizza" but a regular Deep Dish Pepperoni is yummy also. If pizza is not your preference they have a decent Italian menu also. When I'm rarely not in the mood for pizza I get the "Sooper Rueben". Online ordering is pretty smooth too!

I still crave this place since graduating. A user who previous stated that the Buffalo Chicken Pizza does not include buffalo sauce. Incorrect my fellow incompetent yelper, check under the cheese. The ranch is homemade so it is a must order side for pizza. Crust is delicious. I've never had problems with delivery or the pizza, but I've also never tried anything else but the pizza so you're on your own there. I miss Quatros so get your fill in for college because you might not have it for a long time - or even ever.

Quatro's was the closest pizza joint in Carbondale that had pizza very similar to Chicago Style. I miss their pizza very much! There are always good deals available during specific days of the week. And it was helpful that you could walk to the restaurant from campus right after class.

I miss it so much :( delicious deep pan and the challenge! Oh I miss it.

I am not a fan of this place. It is definitely overrated. There is an overwhelming yeast taste in the dough and an unusual sourness in the sauce. I give it 3 stars because for the price it fills me up. Their wheat crust available on Mondays is the one that is worth 4 stars because that overwhelming yeast taste is only ever so slight. The texture of the whole wheat crust is something I appreciate much more than the regular deep dish. It really is unfortunate its available Mondays only. I never in my life would travel just to have this pizza. Sorry it just isn't that good.

Quatro's is kind of a one trick pony in my mind. If you like the deep dish pizza, than you are in the right place. If you want anything else, the food is meh. The pizza is done well and if you come often enough it's done wrong. Which works out if you like pizza because they'll simply just make you another one and give you that one for free. So say your order clearly and make sure it's right when it comes out and hope you get a free pizza. If you are looking for a good night out go out on Wednesday for cheap beer night. Just make sure you have someone to drive you home.

After going to a satellite SIU campus for 16 months, our professors from SIU would tell us about this place. After finally getting the money to go out to So. Illinois, my fellow graduating buddies and I went for lunch. The deep dish pizza was absolutely wonderful, but it will fill you up quick! We had the buffalo chicken, the Quatro's special and another pizza I forgot the name, but they were all really delicious! The restaurant itself felt a little old, but whatever the pizza made it all worth while! Although I'm probably never going to be in So. Illinois anytime soon, I'd recommend this place to anyone who's in the area. The staff is quite friendly, the pizza has a wheat crust with cheese that is super thick and gooey, and it fills you up fast!

I lived in Carbondale for almost 4 miserable years. And no, unlike most that people that say that, I did not go to SIU and drop out/ flunk out. My family lived here briefly, and we were lucky enough to get out. I'll stop here before this review turns into a long rant regarding my loathing for this cesspool of a podunk town. This place was actually pretty good. It was surprisingly good would be a very accurate description. It is easily the best pizza in the area (but the competition isn't exactly fierce). Don't let the simple 3-star review fool you. I'm rating relative to all the many pizza places I've exprienced. This place may not be my personal favorite, but it is darn tasty. If you are in the area and pick this place for a slice, then you will not be disappointed.

I literally think about this pizza everyday. I didn't live in Southern Illinois for 2 and 1/2 years and STILL thought about this pizza everyday. The crust is basically burnt cheese when you order a deep dish (which you should). The toppings are all excellent choices but I recommend when ordering minced garlic to tell them to to easy on it, because if you don't they'll cover your pizza with it. I also recommend getting a side of the sauce on the side for dipping your crust into. This is a fun meeting place anytime of the day, and it's great because they're open til 1 on the weekends and 12 every other day. Best place to eat in Carbondale.

The pizza here is simply outstanding..the ingredients are fresh, and the quality is always consistent.. I lived in Carbondale back in the early 90s..and have yet to find a place that compares..I'm ordering a t shirt..just to keep the memories alive...

I love this place and always have to go here everytime I'm in town (once a year), it is the best pizza place in town. The Quatro's challenge was great but some say it can also be a challenge to digest, lol. Prices are good and have never been disappointed. Only thing I don't like is that you have to pay to park, though prices are cheap ($0.25 per hour).

If was just okay. For me, it didn't live up to the hype.

It is good pizza in Carbondale. Not the sort of earth-shatteringly great pizza available in other college towns, but they make solid deep dish pizzas and play with their formula from time to time testing innovative menu additions. When I say deep dish, I don't mean the casseroles that Chicago uses the word pizza to describe. It a uniformly thick crust formed by using a pan with edges. The accident of geography alone moved me from giving this place three stars to four.

Quatro's is the best pizza in Southern Illinois, which isn't saying much. Yes it is good, but by far nothing to go out of the way for. My main complaint with their pizza is the lack of sausage when ordering it. Rather than putting lots of sausage randomly, it comes too measured out. I've tried ordering extra sausage dozens of times only for it to have 6 small pieces instead of 5 per slice. Realistically, you can't get really good pizza anywhere outside of Chicago or New York but to ask & pay for extra ingredients and still not get a reasonable amount knocks them down from 4 stars to 3.

I went to SIUC from 97-01 and Quatro's remains the standard by which I judge all pizza. Quatro's is better than Lou Malnati's, Gino's East, Uno, or any of the other Chicago deep-dish places. The best part about Quatro's pizza is the slightly-burned edge of the crust which brings out a mildly salty flavor to the crust. I don't share food with people, but I would definitely take someone's Quatro's scraps. If you are an SIU student or a townie looking for a pizza joint for dinner or to bring something at half-time, Quatro's is your choice. They're better than any of the competitors.

Very, very good! Most people rave about the pizza...but my favorites are the turkey sandwiches and chef salads! So delicious!

I ate at Quatro's on the day they opened in 1975 and have been hooked ever since. There is something unique about their deep dish crust that I really love. Many years ago, I asked the owner for his secret and he would not tell me but said "Keep it simple". Well, whatever they do I love their pizza. Thirty years later my son was at SIU and eating at Quatros.

I like Quatro's, but I can't eat there anymore because my partner is Gluten-Free, and they don't offer any GF options. Come on, pretty please? We're good tippers.

Definitely a fan of Quatro's. I'm not sure about their claim of "deep pan pizza" because it didn't seem that deep to me, but it was still good. The interior is nothing special and could probably use a deep clean, but our waitress was really nice and the prices are reasonable.

Inconsistent sauce and sometimes soggy crust. When it's good, however, it's pretty good. We always get sauce on the side as it doesn't have much sauce in my opinion. Wheat crust on Monday's is always good.

A damn good pizza staple in a college town, and you can't go wrong with that. It's not mind blowing pizza, but it's one of the best pies I've had in a while.

Way over rated!! I tried the "deep dish" also, and it irritates the $%#* out of me when pizzerias advertise "deep dish" that is really just thick crust!! You can only get a deep dish in Chicago and only in Chicago, unless you are lucky to have a Giordano's where you live (they have some places outside of Illinois) so you can get a sample of good deep dish. I tried Quatro's Italian beef (it's ok, I've had better but not outside Chicago).

I've always felt this place was overrated. The pizza is so-so, but if you want to go somewhere to eat and drink pitchers of beer, this is a satisfactory place. It's small, so you're SOL if it's packed.

Being a native Chicagoan, I'd like to think I know a thing or two about pizza. While its no Lou Malnati's, in my opinion, Quatro's really is the best pizza in C'dale. However, that isnt really saying much, if you consider how many crappy pizza joints there are in this town.

Quatro's always hits the spot. I love the meatlovers. And you can never forget their phone number because of that cheesy jingle.
