Longbranch Cafe and Bakery Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I'm updating my review from a week ago. I'm deducting a star because of lack of WiFi at the cafe. If only this place had WiFi..... This place is a sort of godsend for me. The drinks are tasty (the blueberry basil lemonade is a MUST), the food is good, and the service is fun. I'm still new to Carbondale, but this place seems to be one of the few independent eateries around. It is a great place for a date, studying, meeting up with friends, or just having some alone time. Now, if they could only serve beer, it would be perfect....

I LOVE the Longbranch! They make the best caramel latte that I've ever had. You need to be careful though on some of their signature drinks though because they can get a little sweet! They also have tasty food and pastries. Seriously this place is awesome.

I feel this place has really taken a turn for the worst, instead of staying something great they've headed down the path of mediocrity. The food is usually really good though

Great carrot cake! You have to try the iced sugar cookies if they have them.Best in the WORLD!!

Longbranch will be in my memories forever. I wish this amazing coffee house could have moved with me when I graduated school. This was the place to hang out, chat with friends, do homework, read poetry, listen to live music or hang out on their outside patio and watch the trains pass by. There aren't many things I miss about the small town of Carbondale, but this is one of them.

Every town needs a place like this. Their coffee drinks are good, their lunch menu offers a pretty good variety of mostly vegetairan/vegan choices. It's very casual, and you can go there and visit, study, read, whatever, and people will leave you alone. Not all of their seating is the most comfortable, but you need to just go once and check it out for yourself.

I love Longbranch. Even though they tend to get rid of my favourite items through the years, it's always been one of the best places to meet up with friends, and they find new, tasty replacements for the menus. Also, they make the best Italian cream sodas!

  • Marshall C.

The coffee is pretty good. I wouldn't order the breakfast burritos again.

My favorite place in Carbondale. Sit outside when it's nice, sit up front to have a cafe feel, sit in the back for quiet. Great food, reasonable prices. Try the iced tea. Usually something minty or basily. The specials are also usually great.

Great little coffee shop. From the atmosphere to the menu everything is superb. Love their coffee and love their food menu even better. The number one thing on the menu for me is the spicy Thai noodles!

I've been eating at the Longbranch for over 7 years and they just keep getting better and better. They've always had great coffee drinks and desserts but now their food and service has really taken off. The food used to be just so-so and the service was below average. They've since tightened all that up. Biscuits and gravy rock, Nina's Special is my favorite breakfast, Hummus Kalaya for lunch, and now w/ dinner offered, the pastas are quite good. Pizzas and other lunch specials are great as well. I still think they have the best desserts in town. Seriously. I said no thanks to dessert at Houlihan's the other night just so I could go by and get the chocolate peanut butter mousse pie! Killer! Also, where else in Carbondale can you get great food, art shows, salsa dancing, improv/standup, and community. It's health food for body, mind and soul. I guess I like it :-)

I was not expecting much of anything from a recent visit to Carbondale, culinary or otherwise, so stumbling upon this place was a pleasant surprise! A vegan/vegetarian/healthy lifestyle cafe in Carbondale? How cool! Fresh, healthy food options (vegan, vegetarian and otherwise), a juice bar and outstanding coffee make this place a winner. I also dig the fact that there are condoms available in the restroom with the salient reminder that people are still getting HIV and urging patrons to be careful. I don't know whether this is a hot spot at night, as I was there at about 10 a.m., but I appreciated that it's a progressive enough joint to keep that message out there for its patrons. I don't know when I'll be back in Carbondale, but I know that this will be one of the first stops I'll make. I hope the locals know what a great spot this is, and that they appreciate and continue to support it.

A classic food venue among all Carbondalians, Longbranch Vegetarian Cafe isn't just for vegetarians - think of it as a yummy cafe for everyone that simply has no meat on the menu. They are also very active in hosting community events as well as supporting local artists (their walls are revolving doors displaying dazzling works from a variety of artistic disciplines)

Went here after a disappointing meal next door at Global Gourmet, where we did not want to stick around for dessert. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The cookies were fantastic and the cappuccinos were warm and tasty. It was so nice that we came back the next morning to try their breakfast menu. We sat outside under a beautiful trellis full of blossoming spring flowers. The coffee never stopped coming, and the breakfast burrito and home-made granola were excellent. Good value, good food, great atmosphere. #1 place I ate in Carbondale!

It's enough of a step outside the box just to be "vegetarian" in Carbondale. Even though I'd like their food to be healthier and use whole grains, I love the place for the warm, down to earth atmosphere and the escape from this community's obsession with meat eating.

Eating the Happy Artichoke is like riding a unicorn down a rainbow. Amazing. If you tell them you're in a hurry, they're quick about the order. And if you're not in a hurry, and plan to sit there all day writing and/or grading term papers, they're fine with that too. This is a great place to go to if you want to catch up with a friend or need a great local place to take out-of-town guests to eat. Plus, parking is never a problem.

I popped into this college town on some business, and had a great breakfast here, after checking out some of the other YELP reviews. Good strong coffee, and some nice eggs and a biscuit and some "facon bacon" later, I was convinced the reviews were correct. This is the place to go for breakfast when you have business at Southern Illinois University.

A very nice coffeehouse that also has a lunch and dinner menu. Friendly staff, clean and busy. Vegetarian focused menu. The minestrone was good, and the salad my wife had looked excellent. The enchilada she had was good, perhaps a bit dry. Reasonably priced, I think it was twelve dollars for the two of us.

How nice to have an independently owned unique eatery. The coffee and other drinks are great and the homemade desserts are, unfortunately too good! Service is always friendly and if you go there to study or work, you never feel pressured to move on once you have finished your food. Nice outdoor seating is available and parking is very handy. Saturday nights they do Salsa dancing with a lesson available beforehand for a very reasonable price. The vibe is good, it's about the dancing and the music. If you must have some alcohol to loosen up first you can't get it there, but next door is a very nice wine bar.

Awesome coffee, and decent food considering there's no meat in any of it. If you need to have your unbearable hunger pangs satisfied, this is probably not the place. This is the best coffee shop in the Dale by far. There are always students, professors, and carbondale lifers hanging out here, and the live music/comedy in back can be really great sometimes. Hannibal Burress played here not too long ago.

I've had a hard time getting a grip on what Longbranch does and doesn't do. I just order my latte when I visit here, and I believe I may have seen the business featured in a coffee magazine about business trends, but perhaps it was another C'dale business. Aside from that confusion, which results from the disconnect between the awesome latte photographed in the article I read, vs. what I got when I ordered, the coffee seems to be an afterthought, and perhaps they are more about food. I feel Carbondale is lacking a quality coffee bar type establishment and Longbranch isn't in that model. Yet, to be in the rare, $4 double shot latte market is pretentious and over-priced. I've personally only seen a small, two shot, $4 latte in the D.C. area, and would never expect it out in a fringe, rural, university town. Beans tasted very dark-roasted, certainly no indication of progressive coffee technique.. I should start quizzing people about their product before tossing four bucks on the counter for coffee that tastes like Starbucks' products. Two stars for coffee end of things. Don't know about the rest, it does say "Coffee House" so it should deliver quality instead of out of date ideas.

We often refer clients to this intimate and welcoming coffeehouse in downtown Carbondale. The vegetarian menu has something for everyone - even meat eaters will love this change from the ordinary fare. Local art is regularly displayed and I believe they have the largest bulletin board displaying community events! Knowing that the food is fresh, organic and as local as possible is a definite plus.

Allow me to preface things like this, while I'm not a vegetarian/vegan, I have no objection whatsoever to cuisine of that persuasion. Bearing that in mind, it just seemed as if so many things went wrong with my experience at Longbranch. First, the menu was diverse but absurdly priced for what it was, with even a standard mug of coffee running up right along gourmet coffee brands in pricing. The quality of the stuff is simply not high enough to warrant a price point like that. Second, the service was not at all what I expected; with it taking close to 20 minutes to even be noticed by a member of the staff, and nearly double that to actually receive my meal.

This place is awesome! I was biking across the country with a friend and we were looking for a place to get breakfast, and we came to this place. Man were we excited! We hadn't had a well-cooked meal at a great restaurant for a long time, and this place really hit the spot. My friend is a vegetarian, so all of the meatless options were a welcomed sight for her, and they tasted just as good as they sounded. It was great that they offered a variety of vegetarian options, and could even make many of their menu items vegan. The huevos rancheros were spicy goodness, and the vegetarian omelet was great as well. The potatoes that came with the omelet were crazy good. We ended up eating here 3 times in 2 days because we liked the food so much, and it really helped that the staff were so friendly and actually fun to talk to. They made sure we had everything we needed, and you could tell that they liked their jobs and enjoyed meeting people and making sure everyone was enjoying their meal. They don't have Internet, which is a bad thing if you want to hang out there and use the computer, but that doesn't really mean anything when it comes to the ambiance of the restaurant or the quality of the food. I highly recommend this place. The margherita pizza was great, and so was the veggie burger. Oh, we also had the spicy thai noodles and the veggie delight. Both incredible, too.

First off, I am basing my three stars on the fact that I am writing this from a vegan perspective. I've been to Longbranch a few times, and I enjoyed the service and atmosphere. The food that I did get was very tasty, the cheeseless calzone tasted AMAZING. My big complaint is the fact that for an all vegetarian cafe, the vegan pickings are slim. A casual glance over the menu might make you think otherwise, but when you look at the items that aren't marked as 'can be made vegan', you kind of wonder, why not? What about this tofu and noodle dish is vegetarian but not vegan that can't be easily changed? Why are none of the breakfast items marked as vegan friendly, why isn't there even tofu scramble? I wish I could reference menu items, but it appears that the link to their online menu is currently not working. Two times I went during the day and saw no vegan items in the bakery case (insert sad face here). Then I went again at night with some friends, and they had one vegan cupcake (which I ate, and it was pretty good). So I don't know the rhyme or reason for when vegan baked goods are available, but if you're specifically looking for vegan baked goods your first best shot would be the co-op. Overall, I wish that the menu would default to vegan items unless eggs or dairy are part of the actual dish. Like, have the veggie burger and bun be vegan but if someone wants cheese on it, fine. Have the desserts be vegan unless it's a kind that specifically needs eggs (like angelfood cake) or dairy (like "real" cheesecake). It would also be great to see some use of seitan or tempeh on the menu!

  • Megan M.

Great place for breakfast and lunch! Soysauge and Gravy is really good! You don't even miss the meat! I get the Harvest Salad a lot, partly because they have really good dill dressing. It's a very relaxing and laid back place to go. You can sit there for a long time and the waitstaff will not bother you. You can also eat and run and the waitstaff will bother you just enough. :)

My daughter took us here on move in weekend. We were not expecting much (being big city snobs!) and we sure got our comeuppance! It was so great! Have the nachos, everyone loved. Each dish was great, all fresh ingredients, nice proportions. Service was fine, it was late - after 8:30 and they closet the kitchen at 9, but the server was not bothered at all. Made us feel good. Price is excellent (we are used to Chicago prices, so a nice change of pace). Really glad we had the opportunity to enjoy a meal here, and my daughter is a repeat customer. Phosphate drinks are fabulous!

Pebble [rock] in my food... The fact that happened has turned me off to this place (I really give this place 2.5 stars). Below is my pre-pebble review: Since 01.01.08, I think this place is a cute artsy looking coffee place [and restaurant]. They had quite a few Vegan options; however, I was there at 5PM and they will not serve breakfast items after 4PM. How disappointing, because all four of us at the table wanted something off of the breakfast menu and my friend who has Celiac Disease [allergic to gluten] had to resort to chips and salsa. I ordered the Vegan calzone and I was very impressed, there wasn't Vegan cheese in it, but it was still delicious. Also, everyone liked what they got [someone got a veggie wrap with hummus].

Good coffee. I had the nonfat doppio espresso macchiato with a dash of cinnamon. The espresso roast was pretty good, a bit on the more bitter side. My friend got the nonfat dirty chai (secret menu) and it was quite delicious. Food was delicious. I for lunch I had the Vegetarian Harvest which was absolutely delicious. Portion was kinda small for the price, but was great quality. As for the staff, they were extremely nice and helpful. I recommend this place to anyone, including non-vegetarians :)

My happy place in southern illinois. Got me addicted to white chocolate mochas. Use to come here to have study sessions in high school and it was always a nice quiet place. I had a noodle dish once, don't remember what it was called...had some spice to it though and it was amazing, ate the whole thing. This is seriously a Carbondale jewel.

I kept hearing about this place from my wife and friends. They told me Longbranch specialized in organic and vegetarian food. The words "organic" and "vegetarian" hold little, if any appeal for me, so the prospect of having breakfast here one Sunday morning didn't exactly excite me. Guess what? "Organic" and "Vegetarian" don't bother me anymore! I never, in a million years, would've thought that their vegetarian take on biscuits and gravy would be so delicious! I mean, once you have Mary Lou's B's & G's, you'd never want 'em anywhere else. Guess what? Try 'em here! They're outstanding! The food is wonderful. Besides the biscuits and gravy (gravy made from soy, I believe) I had scrambled eggs with tortilla chips and beans. Excellent! We sat outside, the weather was beautiful. The service was pretty good, despite the kitchen getting slammed with orders from a very full restaurant. It's loud when a freight train goes by, but it's also charming somehow. The philosophy of the restaurant is to be "green", use sustainable/renewable/recyclable supplies, obtain produce from local farmers, and have a relaxed attitude about it all. And the bakery items...man oh man...organic flour, natural ingredients...fantastic quality and taste! We took a bunch of cupcakes, cookies, and mini cakes home with us. Take it from a meat lovin', TV dinner processed food consumin', imported cheese kind of a guy...Longbranch is surprisingly great and while it didn't make me a convert to an organic vegan, it opened my mind up a bit and didn't disappoint me.

As a vegetarian, it was really nice to go into a restaurant and know that I could order anything on the menu. There were a lot of choices, and I had a hard time choosing, but in the end I was only moderately satisfied with what I got. I had the veggie burger which was very dry. The service was nice but slow. I've heard nothing but good things about Longbranch so I will probably return, I'll just order something different.

As an admitted coffee snob, I had very low expectations for a coffeehouse in Carbondale. I was very pleasantly know knocked out of my socks. The coffee here was amazing. The Will's Cuban was Cuban coffee perfection. Other than visiting my son, it's one of the few good things in Carbondale. I'm not a vegetarian but I did enjoy the soysage biscuits and gravy. It tasted very similar to the real thing. I've been here several times and the service is always pleasant.

Vegetarian on 3 week cross-country drive. Went 30 min off route after reading the Longbranch reviews, desperate for an all-veg menu which hasn't been available since leaving California (soooo tired of Thai, fruit and Chinese). So many great sounding options that choosing was difficult. I ended up ordering the Portobello quesadilla. Best meal since leaving CA!! Will definitely come back if ever in area again (or even 30 min away).

I was staying in Harrisburg for the weekend and this restaurant was about an hour away from the motel, let me just say that it was worth the drive! This was the first vegetarian restaurant I found down south and it was definitely in my top 5. I had the spicy Asian noodles, both my friend and I fell head over heels for it. And not to mention the cheesecake and coffee tasted fresh. I would definitely come back next time I go down south

While on vacation, we pulled out the trusty Yelp app!!! It never lets us down! We headed into Carbondale to check out this well-reviewed cafe. Hubby said, "VEGAN???!!!" So ok. I admit. We aren't vegan. Not even close. But hey!! This was really good!! Hubby got the portobello sandwich. I got the jalapeño vegan burger (recommended!!!) we topped it off with Boston cream pie and red velvet cake. No judging .... We were on vacation. The atmosphere was friendly and "old school." We were really surprised at how happy all the workers were and really enjoyed their job. It showed!!!! Kudos to the owners!!

I've eaten lunch at Longbranch twice now. It was a perfectly satisfactory experience both times, but nothing special. On my first visit, I ordered the Portobello Kale Salad. The portion was too small for an entree, but it was good. The second time, I ordered their falafel entree, which came with a side of hummus and pita. Again the portion size was an issue with the dish including THREE golf-ball sized falafel balls and they were very dry. Also... why serve hummus with falafels (both made of chickpeas)? I just haven't been impressed. However, the ambience and service are good, and it's nice to have a vegan restaurant in Carbondale.

If you're not looking to get sushi this is by far the best place to eat in carbondale, and I'm not even a vegetarian. The veggie burger is amazing, their bakery is top notch and their coffee is solid. Not to mention all of their stuff is local

The Longbranch offers equally wonderful food, coffee and atmosphere. It features a vegetarian menu that need not scare omnivores such as myself. There is lots of tasty protein to be had. The service was excellent, too! If you are in Carbondale, this is the restaurant for any meal.

Always great. Great food, great coffee, and great service. My only "complaint" is that many of their espresso specials don't stay on the menu year-round (but if they kept everything I like on the menu, it'd be massive!) The couple of times I experienced mistakes with orders, the waitstaff or management was speedy and enthusiastic in correcting the mistake. (Everyone makes mistakes, but what really counts is how you handle them.)

Such a treat to have in Southern Illinois! This place has an extensive menu offering local, organic vegetarian fare. Longbranch is a staple in the Carbondale community. Service is quick, friendly, and sassy (the good kind of sassy). I love the coffee here, and their espresso is wonderful (toasty, rich, and NOT BURNT! That's a big bonus for me). All the baked items I've sampled have been excellent and not too sugary/buttery for my tastes--just the perfect balance. I particularly enjoy the breakfast menu, I always order the ninja (biscuit, soysage gravy, eggs, roasted veggies) with a side of beans. It's the most delicious combination of foods. Anyway, go here. It's delicious. It doesn't matter if you're vegetarian or not, it's just good food. Plain and simple.

The only restaurant in Carbondale that offers a good selection of vegan and vegetarian items - as it is a vegetarian café. Students be warned -- this is not a place to drink coffee and do homework. They do not offer free wifi, and they changed their name from Coffeehouse to Café to prevent squatters. The breakfast is very good and the breakfast specials change every day and are always filling. The biscuits and gravy are Devine-- you won't even notice they're meatless. The only problem I have with this restaurant is the portion size of the dinner items. It's not extremely pricey but the price does not fit the portion. In their defense most of their ingredients are all natural and a few are organic. I have eaten at every restaurant in Carbondale and would recommend the Longbranch; especially for breakfast.

Stopped for our first day out in the wine trails. We are glad that we did! The biscuits and gravy and home style potatoes are awesome!! Right amount of spice and crunch!! Tried the vegan migas, delish! Also had the special today of the Mexican eggs and it was phenomenal!! This is a definite must try if you are in the area. It's a quaint cafe that has some good history and great food.

I usually check out restaurants ahead of time before trying, but we happened to drive by this one on our way to a different breakfast joint. It looked interesting and we noticed there were quite a few people heading inside and decided to check it out. After we sat down and reviewed the menu is when I realized it was a vegetarian restaurant. Which is okay, but I had my heart set on some thick sliced bacon. My wife wanted to stay so I ordeded this huge cinnamon roll. It was tasty, but not as tasty as thick sliced bacon. My wife liked her food. Service was okay, place was nice inside and there appeared to be a lot of regulars. Check it out if you're vegetarian...go somewhere else if you're craving thick sliced bacon.

This place feels like home. Very good for sharing a meal, or just sitting and having a coffee. I recommend the "Cuban Coffee" and a "Fried Egg Sammy." The other thing I really appreciate is that it is very tasty, while being a vegetarian place. I'm not a vegetarian, but everything I tried on the menu was delicious, even with the "tofu bacon." I would definitely go back. This place is the definition of a "hot spot."

Even though it says coffee house, I wouldn't describe this place as one. They specialize in coffee, drinks, and desserts, but they have a separate menu with meals that you would see at any small cafe. I was hesistant to try this place because it was vegetarian, but I heard a lot of good things about this place so I wanted to try it out. We ordered the hummus, chips, and salsa. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. The hummus was bland, but the worse part was that the salsa and chips were store bought. How do I know? I buy Tostitos Medium Salsa all the time. I knew from the first bite. Why don't they make their own salsa? Buffalo Wild Wings does. My fiance told me the Chinese noodles were the best and they were really good. The only thing is I wouldn't cosider them Chinese. The noodles were Italian fettuccine noodles. The sauce resembles that of Thai food. The first few bites were really good, but as I continued, the flavor built up in my mouth. After a while, it became too much to eat. I stopped because the flavor was too overwhelming. The service was better than most people have said. The waiter was on top of it. He checked in on us regularly and everything came out promptly. I didn't get a chance to try the drinks or desserts. I myself am not a big coffee drinker, but even if I was, I think their drink prices are pretty pricey. More expensive than Starbucks. I love desserts, but they didn't have any cupcakes that day. I'm not a fan. I think this place is overhyped.

I love love love LOOOVEEEE this place! The servers are awesome, they're always pleasant and smiling, and the food is OFF THE CHAIN! Ok, let me start off by saying that I love meat (any kind!) more than life itself. My girlfriend talked me into going here right after moving here since she's vegan, and raved about the tofu steak with chinese noodles. So, I sucked it up, ordered it, and 2 minutes later my plate was clean. AWESOME. Their hummus is the best... I'd take an I.V. of it any day. Longbranch is our go-to place on Fridays as they have Falafel Fridays, and of course, that's OFF THE CHAIN too. It's so off the chain, I not only order the Hummus Kalaya as an appetizer, and Tofu Steak with Noodles as my entree, but we also order the Falafel as an additional entree because. it's. THAT. good. Longbranch will be my Friday place until the day I leave Carbondale!

Excellent little vegetarian cafe tucked away on the square in Carbondale. Has the feel and the look of exactly how you would picture it-wooden booths; posters hanging, local art, cute little lamps on every table. I ordered the corn tortilla breakfast and my husband had the omelette. Probably one of the best vegetarian breakfasts I have had, with gluten free corn tortillas, organic black beans, eggs cooked EXACTLY the way I ordered them, spinach, cheddar cheese and delicious home made salsa. My husband's omelette was delicious and exactly as ordered. In addition his home fries and biscuit were so good, he ordered another biscuit. But what deserves the 5 stars besides the food is the staff. Unbelievably kind and helpful; we ordered coffee and lattes and then when my husband asked for his to be a little warmer they promptly offered to change cups, and rushed to heat it up. They offered free refills even though the menu says there is a charge and told us to stay as long as we wanted even though it was plenty busy. REALLY recommend this place!!!

Favorite restaurant in Carbondale. Delicious food every time I go. My breakfast favorites are Biscuits & Gravy, soysauge & egg biscuit (don't forget to ask for added spinach and mushrooms!) with breakfast potatoes. My lunch favorites are the Hummus & Grilled Veggies, Happy Artichoke Panini, all of the Pizza items, Branch salad, and Vegetarian Harvest. They also have delicious baked goods, and will make special orders if you call ahead. The service is usually pretty good (sometimes if you sit in the back, it takes awhile for them to notice you...just speak up!). The owner seems wonderful, and is often there to ask her customers how everything tastes. If you're a talker, she'll even sit down with you & give you some recipe pointers! Definitely a place to visit again and again, even for the non-vegetarians out there!

Did a yelp search looking for coffee houses in carbondale while in town. We decided to stop in,grab some coffee and some lunch. Once we sat down and went through the menu we noticed it was vegetarian and vegan. This didnt bother us at all. We decided on several different items including the artichoke panini for my daughter, apple walnut salad, grilled cheese panini andvthen a cheese pizza off the kids menu for my young son (yes, they had a kids menu!) We all chose the sweet potato soup as a side. All of the food was very fresh and tasty. Non of cared for the soup, but i thimk that was more on us than them as it was a very sweet potsto flavor. the pace of service was a bit slow, but typical for a more laid back college area. All in all a good experience that we would be happy to do again.

My FAV place in all of Carbondale. I was super excited to find a vegetarian/vegan cafe/coffee house. Im from Cali where you have endless dining choices for us non-meat eaters. I felt right at home. The food is amazing!! The artichoke dip.... YUMM! and the almond milk latte ... double yumm!! At times the service is slow, snail moving slow but that seems to be when they are busy and only have one person working. (This is why I gave 4 stars. I must be use to the go-go-go of city life.) Anyways this place is DELISH and any meat eater will love the food as well!

We live about an hour away from this place but when we get up to Carbondale, this is one of our favorite places to eat. I wish we could visit more often! This place is absolutely amazing and one of the coolest places in Carbondale. Breakfast is filling, relatively cheap, and changes up your regular morning routine. The soysage biscuits and gravy is delicious (coming from a non-vegetarian). Lunch and dinner are the outstanding as well. The only missing piece for dinner is that they don't serve any wine or alcohol, but you barely notice it once you start eating. The Longbranch is basically the definition of #eatclean

A great place for a clean, healthy, high quality ingredient meal. Yes, it is all vegetarian. At dinner, they are likely the best Mexican Place in Carbondale. I like nachos and green enchiladas. I want to like the pizza, but the quality goes up and down dramatically, sometimes almost no cheese, sometimes lots, very frustrating.

The best vegetarian cafe I've been to anywhere, not just in Carbondale. The breakfast menu is particularly good, but you honestly can't go wrong with anything you get.

  • Katie H.

It's so off the chain, I not only order the Hummus Kalaya as an appetizer, and Tofu Steak with Noodles as my entree, but we also order the Falafel as an additional entree because. it's. THAT. good. Longbranch will be my Friday place until the day I leave Carbondale!

We live about an hour away from this place but when we get up to Carbondale, this is one of our favorite places to eat. I wish we could visit more often! My husband and I are vegetarian and I have a gluten allergy, there are so many different things to try and eat! I just wish they were closer to us!

I feel this place has really taken a turn for the worst, instead of staying something great they've headed down the path of mediocrity. The food is usually really good though
