Wow, we should have bought more! The little cookies are amazing, with pecans, chocolate chips and sprinkles, all are fantastic!

I stopped in here the other day before work to pick something up for our potluck. I ended up getting a large danish. It was delicious and everyone was raving about it! I had a battle with my will power because everything else in there looked delicious as well.

I am above and beyond ecstatic I found this place on yelp. I was in need of a cake for a small gender reveal party we were having and Jon's stepped up and owned the task at hand. I called another bakery were we have gotten special occasion cakes in the past which is highly coveted on the south side, but their price was outrageous. So I took to yelp and found Jon's. I called ahead to see if my special requests was doable within a one day time period and both ladies on the phone were very nice. Once I talked to Sharon, I think she's in charge of the cakes, she told me they would be able to dye the cake batter, either pink or blue depending on the gender results, and they would do it with less than a 24 hour notice at a super reasonable price! I ordered a 9" homemade cake for less than 30 bucks that's a steal! I went in on a Friday to drop off the sealed gender results and order the cake. I also took some Internet print outs of how I wanted the cake to be designed. The lady behind the counter who took my order was very patient as I had a lot of specific details I wanted. She even seemed excited as I was! And let me just say, this place is a pregnant woman's dream! As I was placing my cake order, my eyes couldn't help but wander to all the goodies behind the counter. So I decided to try out some of these goodies. I went home with two donuts, two heart shaped special occasion cookies, and 6 kolackis (2 of which didn't even make it home as I inhaled them in the parking lot right outside the bakery). Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious! I was sure the cake would turn out just as great...and it did! This was one of the most moist cakes I've ever had. The whipped cream icing was also a good choice as it didn't overly sweeten the cake. I had fresh strawberries and banana as the filling and both had a great taste and both were obviously fresh ingredients. The design was just how i wanted it. And the cake batter turned out to be a lovely blue color, which meant we're having a boy! Thank you Jon's for making such a special occasion even sweeter! I will definately be returning for more goodies in the very near future.

I love Jon's Bakery, yes the ladies that work there are very nice and helpful. Wednesday are Kolaski day and they are the best I have ever had. And they have the best Coffee Cakes! As a matter of fact, I think I will stop there on my way to work and buy a few goodies for my boss bday!

DO NOT EAT THEIR FOOD! After years of patronizing this business, I recently bought donuts from them and ended up deathly ill! Half way through eating one I found a roach cooked into the batter. Hours later...I thought I was going to die I was so ill. Never again!

Like it, love it, GOTTA HAVE IT! Thankfully our break room is flooded with goodies from Jon's Bakery every Friday (and sometimes on special occasions, too). Yummy doughnuts, coffee cakes, doughnut holes, fritters, breads- I think I've probably had pretty much everything they make in just the six short weeks since I've been hired. It's not just their food that's great, their service is amazing. When it was my turn to pick up snacks, the lady behind the counter was beyond helpful in making sure I had enough treats to feed a wide variety of palettes. To summarize, I drive past this place everyday and try to think of an excuse to stop in to buy more!

First, let me say that I rarely see a review of a company that have a perfect score of five stars on many of their reviews but I now know why this Bakery is five star!! Planned an event at a banquet hall in the Bridgeview area and was in need of a birthday cake. Called around to several bakeries for a sheet cake that feeds up to 65 people. Needed a fresh strawberry filling and whip cream frosting. Quotes I received were waaayyy too much an charged extra for fresh strawberries and whip cream frosting. Also online reviews were not so good. I remember driving by this bakery on the way home from the venue and decided to give them a call. I got the sweetest lady on the phone, told her what I wanted and she quoted me what I thought was a reasonable price within my budget. I ordered this cake blindly knowing nothing (other than the Yelp reviews) about this bakery or how things would taste. OMG, I just finished a slice of that cake and it was absolutely MOUTHWATERING!!! When my event planner picked the cake up from the bakery, all she kept saying was how good it smelled!! I am a witness that it tasted as good as it smelled As long as this bakery is in business, I will order needed cakes from Jon's Bakery!!! I wish I could give them ten stars!! Strangely enough when I talked to the lady on the phone and told her I basically picked their bakery as a result of their reviews on Yelp, she replied she didn't even know what Yelp was. I told her how fantastic her bakery's reviews were. She just giggled and said that was great. Said she was from the old school and not to computer savvy so she has no idea of their reviews!! Any way, need a cake? Follow me to Jon's!!

I am by no means, a bakery connoisseur. I don't frequent them, I don't buy cakes from the, I don't ever consider a bakery when needing to bring a sweet treat to a gathering. Jon's is 4 blocks from my house, and is opened early (closed on Mondays). I now work at a company, in which there always seems to be a 'hey, what are you bringing for the "so-n-so thing" tomorrow'? I've succumbed to playing nice with my coworkers and started to bring stuff. Hence....my love of Jon's! I've picked up kolachkys, bacon buns, coffee cakes, cinnamon twists & rolls, cookies, rolls, donuts over the past year. I usually let the lady working the counter pick out the item. The people at work love the ooey-gooey pastry items at 8am.

Ok. I looked up bakeries because I needed a chocolate double layer cake for my wife's dinner dessert tomorrow. I decided I would be adventurous and forgo the Jewel-Osco, Tony's, or Fresh Market route. Those things are never that good and cost an arm and a leg. So, anyway, up popped Jon's Bakery in Burbank. I had always wanted to try it and like I said today was the adventurous day. I admit I was read to pay a heavy toll for the adventure. No more than twenty bucks for a double layer I kept repeating to myself. K, enough about the intro. Go to this pace you will not be disappointed. Ssoooo yum. And prices? Cup cakes for 85 cents. The chocolate double layer cake was $5.79. That's the price for a single slice at Tony's. I bought apricot hot cross buns, cheese horns, strawberry filling boats, oh my goodness four cup cakes and a loaf of banana bread plus some other stuff for $18.00. Yeah baby. And a hot cross bun never made it to the kitchen. So good. The lady behind the counter was friendly. The prices cannot be beat anywhere, not even at Wug-Mart and who really desires Wug-Mart bakery items anyhow. The way my wife is looking at me for buying these desserts makes this place a triple play rated man cave grand-slam home run. Now does that make it easy to understand?

The ladies running Jon's busy front counter are very friendly and efficient. I never thought I'd crave a donut or fritter until I tasted Jon's. His Apple Fritters are large, nicely crisp on the outside and soft with large chunks of real apple on the inside. They come either sprinkled with sugar or glazed -- I like the glazed variety. Jon's donuts are more than just fried dough and sugar. They offer amazing texture and just the right amount of sweetness. His raised varieties are super light and airy with a delicate glaze that does dry, but does not flake off. His cake donuts are crispy on the outside, and soft with mild sweetness on the inside. Jon's chocolate frosting is decadent -- more chocolaty than sugary. His custard used on pastries and in donuts tastes extra rich and creamy. The superior quality and freshness of Jon's treats is notable with his use of real strawberries for his strawberry filled/topped pastries, coffee cakes and donuts. In addition to the daily donuts, coffee cakes and pastries, Jon also makes many other specialties on a less than predictable schedule. I have a particular love-hate relationship with his super moist, decadent bread pudding. Different than most bread puddings, Jon adds more than the standard lot of raisins to his recipe -- also found scattered throughout are bits of unusuals like small globs of cream cheese, whole cherries, and other fresh berries. Yum, yum!

I just wanted to post a review from Jon's because they did cupcakes for us for our wedding this past May. We wanted to do cupcakes instead of the traditional cake for the wedding and every place in Chicago was $2.50 or above per cupcake! Which, frankly, just wasn't in our budget. Jon's is right down the street from where I grew up and we would always get delicious goodies from them so we figured we would check them out. They were able to make us 250 cupcakes for .85/cake. They had all different options, filled or not filled. They even did red velvet for us as a special request. (Those ended up being .95/cake). We called two weeks ahead of time and they were ready for us on the day. Delicious, friendly, and at a price that we just couldn't beat!
