Joe’s Saloon

Reviews:
This place is magnificently authentic, with real bartenders who have real skills.... Simply put it's just a great place, but NOT as great as Ellen (AKA Bucko)' who was the hottest girl in the Class of 62 at LT and who will be remembered forever by anyone who saw her snake dance in the 1961 Corral Show, just wow...! She was and I'm sure still is a flat out wonderful person to be around. The Joe's of our world are rapidly disappearing, don't miss this classic! Lee L.
The bar itself, the wood bar, the glass rods, old school neon, it's a comfortable place to hang out, and the grandson of Joe's, Edward, was a great host. Bloody Marys was to die for.
I will always seek an original "Art Deco Bar" to experience, until Joe's Saloon. The originality of the wood bar itself is the primary draw, so I thought. The regular clientele that actually pay money to keep this place in business could give 2 shits about it! Take one step away from the vintage bar and it just looks like any other remodeled beer joint. The Illinois Gaming Commission has a stronghold here with their foot firmly up your ass! The back bar is borderline TLC and the vintage red neon light fixtures now feature LED lighting...that's just wrong! "What makes this a "Saloon"?... I guess because Joe says so... "Is this a worthy destination?...Only if your a local beer guzzler. "The Saving Grace?"...They serve Schlitz on tap.

We were in Brookfield and wanted a cool burger place. So it was just a random yelp search. I was pleasantly surprised! There's street parking, which was a bit hard to find but there was a hawks game on. I ordered a burger with American cheese and an egg. It was SOOOO good. Come here hungry though as the portion was quite large. I couldn't finish mine and I was starving. It's cool that even though they are a bar/rest. They don't push you to order drinks. We got water and the waitress was totally cool with it. I will totally come back. Especially this summer. Think of a long day walking at the zoo and then a big honking burger to chow down. Yummers.
This place should be hidden. Open to customers as a christmas gift. This is how awesome they are. Had the sunday menu (no burgers) Chicken sandwich, raspberry cheesecake and a beer. Imagine how boring and tasteless could be a grilled chicken breast! But it turned in most delicious , full of flavors sandwich! Fresh cut fries with their version of ketchup. ..to die for! Homemade mayo, complete opposite of that hillbilly yellow creamy stuff that you can buy at stores... So good that you want to lick it from a bun. Cheescake...had to start to meditate to forced myself to give a half to my own kid. Super clean restrooms. Draft beer really nice waitress! (thank you) Not to go there is like vote republicans and expect equality in USA. thank you and good night m
We went w/my best friend-she loves hamburgers and we are always looking for a good hamburger spot. This place was not very big-but it was nice. It was not crowded when we went and I am not sure if it ever gets really packed w/people since it is so small. The burgers were fat! I ordered the bbq bacon cheddar burger and it came on a pretzel bun-which was pretty good. The burger and fries came out hot and fresh and they were very good. Not much glam to this place-the burgers speak for themselves. My friend liked this place better than back alley burger in LaGrange. We would return to this Burger Antics if we are in the neighborhood.

" ... you're going to need a bigger star rating scale ..." this place is a 6, a 10, it's off the charts good for affordable, great tasting, ungodly apportioned food. 6 year old demanded to go back because she wanted the pancake sandwich ... after balking and making excuses sucked it up and made the 20 minute drive and ... what was I thinking? IF I HAD TO WALK BACK I WOULD,!!! Tried the Fireman's breakfast and to put it into perspective, I ate a little over half of the serving and even the LEFTOVER'S overflowed the full size take out container! Pancake sandwich is delicious, and the country breakfast (two eggs allegedly, seems like four) two manhole sized potato pancakes and two only slightly smaller sausage patties were more than enough for my 90 year old mother to handle. The place is always packed, at least for breakfast, will definitely be back.
Formerly open 24/7, now 6am midnight plus extra if the biz is there This day they are open late. I'm having breakfast of Tony's bbq ribs and chicken. Strawberry cake for desert. And I must say when you come here you bring your A game. Good eating and lots of it. The waitresses are tough broads and highly admired here in Brookfield. While you sense if you lip off they are likely to put a Lucky Strike out on your face, the fact is the staff here is made up of beautiful people. None more so than my server tonight the lovely and attentive Madeline. Full menu and it's all good folks. Bulletin: Just overheard they may go back to 24/7 in September. Stay tuned to this yelper for details as they emerge.
I go here very frequently as it's nearly always open and also had a great variety of dishes ranging from breakfast (available all day) go multi course dinners. I've never been disappointed with the food or service after several years of eating at Tony's. The only con I can think of is that it does get crowded at times, particularly on weekends, but if you don't want to eat in for whatever reason, you can always carry out!

This is a clean, customer service oriented restaurant with good quality. Some reviewers thought of criticizing this place, picking a solvable issue, and dwelling on it. My wait staff couldn't be more a accommodating. On the other hand, if cash-only is a substantial issue with you - go somewhere else or save up to have a great breakfast and, I'll bet, a quality lunch.
Really amazing food and great prices. The staff is very friendly and the overall atmosphere and cleanliness are great. Highly recommended for a tasty casual breakfast.
They have great cooks but here's the problem. If you order breakfast. The waitress serves you your breakfast and then she will toast the bread for you. So you never get your breakfast and your toast at the same time. It's always two minutes later. This happens even if there's only two or three people in the restaurant for breakfast. I've also been in the restaurant when the owner, Mary, drags supplies in through the front door On a 20° below day. This place doesn't have double doors so the restaurant cools off quickly. They do have a backdoor however. I checked. This place has a recipe for success, given the ambition and the well executed menu. However, I think the owner isn't seeing the big picture.

Amazing beer! Great service and food. Really good Moscow mules too! I have been looking for a reason to get here for years. I was so excited when a friend invited me. The beer list is awesome! I really have to use self control here. I may or may not have gotten drunk here once or twice. The food is good. It's not life changing or anything. Mostly typical bar food, but it's very good and worth ordering!
I love this place, but I am a lil pissed they stopped 50 cent wings Thursdays. The best tap list in Illinois period. Less neck beards and FFF fan boys than usual, but damn everyone here is friendly. They have the softest, fresh and warm toilet paper in the world. Yes that is right, there is a heated TP dispenser in the men's room!
If you are looking for bar food the is not just ordinary, get over to Brixies! Burgers are great, and have yourself a Maple Bacon Donut to finish it off! Great selection of craft beers. One for any taste.
