Visited Cheddars on August 25, 2015, the meals we ordered were very good, delivered quickly, hot and accurate. What made the experience memorable and plesant was our waiter Joseph C. He was knowledgeable, friendly and most notaball he was personable. Can't say enough good thinks about Joseph. Upon my next visit I will certainly request him as our server!! Unfortanely we live in Peoria and only get to this Cheddars about 2-3 times per year. Bill Calhoun

I really would like to give them a better review because the food was good BUT the service was below subpar! It took us over an hour to get our food. Our server was very lackadaisical about us not getting our food in a timely fashion. He was never apologetic about the lateness of our food. A server came out and said she needed to retake our order without telling us who, what, why or how. After that I had to ask for a manager which I shouldn't have to do. A manager should have come to explain the issue and offer a solution automatically. When the bill came it was still wrong as there were items on the menu I asked for but never got. Now a 2nd manager comes to explain the issue again. If you kept track that is 4 employees coming to our table to provide a subpar explanation of our poor service. Then the excuse is the litchen is slow. Not going here again!

first time coming here and we will DEF' be back! Chicken tenders were meaty and juicy...breading could use some seasoning...Id love to see some assortment offered...like...Cajun seasoning, etc I had their Monte Cristo and it was DELICIOUS! Their coleslaw is OUTSTANDING! If you love KFC and Red Lobster Coleslaw...this is like a marriage of the two flavors! The person I was with had their babyback ribs with their bourbon glaze and LOVED IT...Cant wait to come back!

I'm staying at a hotel close by. When I called to place an order I was placed on hold for 10 minutes. When I finally got through they told me they didn't know what I was ordering off the menu. I was annoyed by the customer service and decided to eat somewhere else.

Supper with co-workers means we are ordering a lot of their chicken strips!!! Also I will mention the the "painkillers" are just what the doctor ordered at the end of the day!!

Everything I ordered was good and the waitress was wonderful. We started with the chips and homemade queso, then the best croissant I've ever had, and then the lightly fried onion rings. I ordered the smokehouse burger and was completely satisfied. It was seasoned well and fully cooked, yet not dry This place reminds me of Chilli's but with larger size portions and I will be going back.

This place has been around a long time and for good reason. So far I have not had a bad experience eating here. Even my very very picky aunt liked it :-)

Me and my family love this place. It takes around a half hour to drive there, but totally worth it. They have a scratch kitchen, which means that everything is made fresh and tastes delicious. I recommend anything on the menu. The salads have a sweet butter croissant. The breading for the chicken tenders is superb. You can make a meal out of their appetizers. The best part is that they have very reasonable prices.

The butter Croissants are to die for. Great chicken tenders (real meat, not chopped and formed) Shrimp are tasty, steak was good. Monte Cristo was soggy and meh.

On Friday, September 4, we went to lunch at Cheddar's. The food was tasty as always. However, the tables were not bused in a timely fashion. In addition, the women's washroom had water on the floor, one soap dispenser and one towel dispenser were empty. There was no air conditioning in the washroom. Also, there was water on the floor leading to the dining room. This was a safety issue, particularly for me as I was on crutches. Very disappointing. I would have alerted the greeter at the door but no one was there.

I had the worst experience dining here! Really disappointed with the service. Came here with my boyfriend and his parents for a nice dinner and I felt like our waitress Brenda ignored my requests, and not only that but she didn't ask if I wanted a refill for my water when she had asked the whole table, I wasn't sure why she would treat a customer like this! I also had a grilled chicken Alfredo which tasted like leftover reheated pasta, cold and all stuck together. Really cheap quality food. Really disappointed in how I was treated and what my food tasted like. The manager was really sweet and did not charge me for my meal, but as for the waitress I couldn't see any gratitude from her. I really wouldn't want to come back for another meal. Really disappointed.

Love the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant, food is delicious, but its a hit or miss with the food. I've came to this location about 5-6 times and every time the food is OVERLY salty or just right. I've had the chicken fried chicken and the monte cristo (AMAZING) but the mash potatoes and gravy are sooooo salty, i end up downing down 2 glasses of water. I wish they would control the salt content of there food, otherwise i would def give this place a 4star review! Other than that staff is friendly, place is clean, and cheap drinks!!!

Honestly, I can't see how people stomach the food here. I've been here more than once just to make sure this place really is that bad. My conclusion: Yes, it is really THAT BAD. The food is some of the crappiest food I've ever tasted at a restaurant, and I go out quite a bit. The service is not that great. There is definitely no reason for anyone to go here. Maybe the alcoholic drinks are worth a stop in? I have never tried any here, but what's the point if there is no edible food around to pair with your libations?

Went on Friday, August 28, 2015 around 2:00pm. The food was very good the waitress was great until I paid the bill. I gave the waitress $40.00. The bill was $22.64. When the waitress brought me my change she informed me that I would be short 36cent and walked away. At first I thought I had shorter her 36 cent, but that was not the case. I asked my girlfriend "did she say what I think she said?" and she said yes. How do tell your customers you are not getting your change and think that its okay. I almost did not want to leave a tip, but I did leave a note including the 36 cent with the tip. Daytime robbery for sure.

My husband I frequent this place a few times a month every few months. It's really a hit or miss with them. The service is not the greatest but I have had worse. They have messed up our order a couple of times. Some nights the food is great and satisfying and other nights it's just not the greatest. On a bad night the food is TOO SALTY...to the point it is not edible. The steak dinner when cooked properly is tasty and very well priced. The Santa Fe spinach dip is great! The Bourbon dipping sauce is so "lick your fingers" good...lol. Be sure to try the croissants, they are delicious!! I always get the grilled chicken plate have tried 2 of them, and again, on a good day it's tasty and on a bad day, dry and salty. I have also had the Tilapia dinner which wasn't too bad. Over all not a bad place for a decently priced steak dinner or something a little different.

Service and waitstaff was quick and friendly. Food was delicious...the only drawback is how can you not have goose island either on tap or bottle....its from chicago for petes sake!! Other than that little rant excellent food!!

Really impressed with my second time here first time I had a burger and it was amazing but service sucked. Now I went with hubby stepped it up to stesk and shrimp and he had steak and chicken tenders. My steak was amazing such a good flavor was very impressed grant it 4 shrimp wasn't enough I chose to grill them and great flavor not over cooked. Hubby's tenders the breading was so light and flaky I wish I got just an order of those. Next time for sure cause service was awesome tonight!!!

In the stew of casual American restaurants (Houlihans, Chilis, Fridays, Applebees, the now-defunct Bennigans), Cheddars is a standout. Why? Simply put, great food at very affordable prices. My parents always get the salmon and consistently love it. My steak and shrimp combo was great: classic and tasty. We had the dessert shots, just a taste for everyone, which was enjoyable and not too much after the meal. Service was well done, and the setting is relaxing on the whole (fun to watch the giant wicker fans circle like a paddlewheel near the door...). Overall, a great, laid-back dining experience if you're just looking for some classic menu standards.

The food wasn't that bad, but nothing to really get excited about either. The steak I had was pretty depressing but the fries were the best part of the meal in my opinion. I did really enjoy the wedding cake mixed drink. The staff is what ruined my experience however. For the first 10 minutes I was there they kept dimming and raising the lights while laughing and arguing between three or more of them about how different areas are lit. My server was nice and quick but the others in the area were constantly laughing loudly and gossiping near the tables. I'm all for having fun at work but don't be disruptive of others.

Try waiting 2 hours for your food with excuse after excuse of why your food wasn't delivered ("it was given to someone else", "it's coming", "they messed up the order", " sorry, you guys came on graduation weekend". ) Table after table seated after we were and a manager promptly apologized for the inconvenience, but no apologies here. Not to mention still having to pay for the food that we took in a to go box. Needless to say, never again.

Oh cheddars.... I really, really want to like this place. Its close to me, its nice, and clean They have a good menu selection, but this place is seriously a hit or miss. I've gone 3x and always hoping that it will be better. The food usually never taste the same every time. The tortilla soup is extremely salty, so is the gravy for the mash potatoes. My only complain is they over due it with salt in certain items. Other than that I really like the place. Please cheddars lay off the salt and be more consistent with the food.

I decided to meet some friends here recently because I haven't eaten at Cheddars in over a decade. I either ordered the wrong thing or Cheddars ain't what it used to be. I ordered a Cheddars painkiller (alcoholic drink). It was quite delicious, actually. For dinner I ordered a Tuscan Chicken sandwich. It had bacon and pesto sauce. It was OK. Nothing remarkable. The fries were very bland. Service was also just OK. I am willing to give Cheddars another shot in the future if I'm in the area again.

I have such a love hate relationship with Cheddars. Love their food! Hate their service!! The food is always hot, consistent, and well seasoned. However every waitress/waiter I have had there disappears after the food comes or walks by so quickly you can't catch their attention. This past trip was probably my last. I ordered bread pudding, 20 minutes later still not at the table. The waitress brought the check to the table, no bread pudding on the check or at the table..... I guess she just forgot?! I didn't have time to wait another 20 minutes for it to be ready.. So we paid and left.

I like Cheddar's you receive some pretty good food at surprisingly low prices. I've been here a number of times and have not had a bad experience yet. I walked in and was greeted and seated promptly by a very friendly host. The server (whose pretty friendly as well) came to the table and took the drink order. Today I order onion rings as an appetizer. They were thin cut hand battered rings. They were crispy and stacked tall. Served with a ranch and a spicy dipping sauces. For the entrees, order a steak and rib combo with a baked potato and buttered corn. And, order a steak and chicken tender combo with brocolli cheese casserole and mashed potatos. The steak were seasoned well and cooked to temp (medium). The ribs (half slab) were hot, lightly sauced and pretty tasty. The chicken tenders were really good large pieces, well seasoned breading and fries (nice and crispy) served with honey mustard dipping sauce. All the sides were well prepared and seasoned properly. All in all, today was really good, both food and service. Total cost today was $ 41.95 (two entrees, two drinks and one appetizer).

Customer service was terrible. We've been here the past 3 Friday's, and there wasn't any problems. But today, our waitress was rude. She was a ghost! Whenever she did decide to provide us with service and I mean over 10 people who are ordering and have more than enough to pay for their food; she was didn't provide any type of great service. Her name is Meghan. Meghan needs to leave her personal issues at home! When she comes to work, it's about providing quality service. I didn't ask her to work here. Even though she was trouble I still have her a tip when she clearly didn't deserve it.

I had been on strike from going here, but finally caved and tried it again. The food seems to be getting back to normal! I hope they keep going with this trend as it was my favorite restaurant for many years. If you're a long time fan of this place, I do have to say that the portion for the chicken tender platter has been cut in half from years ago. I used to split this meal with a second person or take half home. Today I finished everything, a little sad that I don't have leftovers.

I give this place an honest review of 3 stars. The food was decent except two people in my party complained of over salting. I tried the food they had and agree whole heartedly of the over salt. My steak was very well prepared. The biggest redeeming quality of the restaurant is by far the server Kyle. I very highly recommend that you ask for him when you come in. His quality of service is way more than expected and very very much appreciated!!! Thank you Kyle for great service and without you, this place would have gotten a lesser review.

I have been disappointed lately with the service that I have received at cheddars. We live in the area and frequent there the food is always delicious but on our last visit was very disappointing. I ordered a half a sandwich and a side salad and when I received the full sandwich the manager on duty made the waitress take half a sandwich off my plate after she had already brought me the dish. The waitress was great but the management was terrible. When I asked for the manager the woman came to the table and could not stop laughing she was very unprofessional and head embarrassed the waitress. I think I'll wait a while before bringing business colleagues or family back to this restaurant it's a shame because we would go there at least twice a week.

I visited today on a long overdue lunch with a dear friend. I have never been before and I thought it was a pretty restaurant. The hostess was lukewarm but maybe that was due to rainy day doldrums. Our server Paige was really nice and friendly. I guess unlike others experiences she checked in to see how we were enjoying our meal and needed anything else. All in all I think she did a good job. I had the Grilled Tilapia. It was good on the meaty part, dry & over cooked on the thin part. Tilapia can be hard to cook & this is not a seafood restaurant so I won't fault them for that. Sooooooooo I take 3 stars off because of: I do fault them for heavy on the sodium. WOW! I am gonna be a Good Year Blimp tomorrow from the amount of salt on the fish. I am so glad that I am not on a salt restricted diet where this would adversely affect my health. I just don't use a ton of salt as I prefer to taste my food. Most resturants under salt and therefore you can add accordingly to taste hence the salt shaker or in Cheddar's a Salt Lick. The sides. SERIOUSLY... The only healthy option is broccoli??? I can't get plain corn or green beans or baked potato??? & if I want to just do a salad instead of the sides I get charged extra??? I probably will never eat here again just because of the upcharge for a side salad while eschewing the 2 sides. Yes... I know your name is "Cheddar's but I don't want to grow a "Cheddar's" behind Thank You.

Quality of food has gone done since 3 years ago. Out waitstaff was very nice, however, my steak was dry and they gave my 4yr old niece spoiled orange juice. When she drank half the cup and couldn't finish the rest (and usually she finishes it), I was curious and took a sip then noticed a funky taste and smell, initially i thought it was spiked, but when I called the manager and asked him to smell the orange juice, he said it was spoiled. He said he was very sorry. He did not refund the juice, and he did not do anything to assure me that this mistake would not happen again. How many adults order orange juice? I can't imagine how many children have gotten sick from drinking the orange juice here. Now I'm driving to the pharmacy to pick up some pepto for my Neice. Very disappointed and apologetic to her parents (my sister in-law). I will not be going back... :-/

I've had bad service here before, but this time our server was great. I think her name was Cassie. My husband got the chicken and shrimp and had no complaints. He loves the chicken strips. I had fish tacos with black beans and they were fantastic. I ordered a side salad as well because 2 tacos didn't sound like enough food, but I was wrong. No need for the side salad next time. We also love the cocktails there, specifically the Texas Sweet Tea and the Texas Margarita.

This evening we sat for 20+ minutes and never had a server approach our table. We mentioned it and several servers then walked by and stared at our table, but again no one came. We left without anyone approaching. We had our two children ages 3 years and 4 weeks..we couldn't sit there forever! Very disappointed.

Came for brother in law's birthday with a big group on a Tuesday. No problem being seated. The prices were Awesome. For starters, My wife and I ordered some of their yummy Honey Buttered Croissants...OMG fresh from the oven and Oh so good! the sweet, butteriness of the glaze along with the buttery, flakiness of the pastry were perfect compliments....Butter with butter.... sounds like a winning combination to me! At $2.49 for 3, it was a little more than I would expect to pay for bread ....but the taste was so good, I didn't mind so much. MY wife order a Cheddars sampler platter which contained, Chicken Tenders, Cheese sticks, potato skins, and something else I can't remember. I ordered the fried catfish platter. Great portion size, food all came out hot and was flavored well. THE ONION RINGS ARE GOOODDDDDD!!!!! In all, to have gotten all that food (plus meals for our kids, who thoroughly enoyed themselves) with a check that ended up UNDER $30, we were pretty darned happy to say the least! Go there, you'll enjoy it!

Poor quality control with their food and horrible customer service. I recently picked up an order for takeout that included a chicken tender salad and a Caesar salad. While eating the Caesar salad, I noticed a giant black spot in my food. Upon closer expection I found it was a piece of dirt about the size of an orange seed. I probably called the restaurant to voice my concerns and to notify them of the issue so other customers wouldn't be exposed to the same health exposure. Needless to say I spoke with the manager and she didn't sound too impressed or enthused enough to look further into the matter. She then admitted that they often will wash their salad produce in large batches and will use that to serve multiple people which actually sounds worse since all the other customers may be eating the same dirt. She did apologize and then offer that if I drive all the way back to the restaurant (approximately 30 minute drive) that she would give me a free dessert and replace my salad. Overall it was a very halfhearted attempt to try to appease me. Granted I trying not to really push for more since I was just trying to notify the manager would react to a significant problem with their quality control. I would think very hard about eating at the restaurant again and would also caution any of my friends and family to visit the restaurant too.

A staple chain restaurant from my time living in the south. Always consistent food and service for a good price. Don't go in on a diet but expect to be well fed. My only concern is the cleanliness of the bar area, everything always seems to be sticky. Aside I know I can get a decent meal for a great price at Cheddar's.

My family has been a regular patron of Cheddars since before I became a part of the family. It used to be my in-laws' favorite place to eat before the chain dried up. And the first time they took me there I was an immediate fan. A few years ago we discovered that the last of a dying species was right down the road from us in Bolingbrook. But...things weren't the same. There's one amazing dish on the menu that I've never been able to go wrong with. The cajun pasta. It's perfect every time. The right spices, the right amount of food, a really nice meat to pasta ratio. It's right on the money. Last night I tried the ribs and they were pretty darn good too. Not quite BBQ restaurant worthy, but I'm used to the dry, meatless sticks they shove your way at Chili's. These were meaty, well-cooked, and fall-off-the-bone tender. The sauce was not bad, but nothing remarkable. A few stinkers I've had: Spasagna. WTF. Gross. Chicken tenders. More greasy batter than chicken. Pot roast, which was like shoe leather bathed in way too much onion powder. One thing I miss is Cheddar's signature cheddar cheese soup. None of the soups they serve here compare, and they're all kind of icky. The baked potato soup wasn't done enough. The potato chunks were undercooked and hard. And the tortilla soup is watery and lacks substance. I'm not complaining. I've found things I like, and each time we receive terrific service. In fact, if I had to choose between Cheddar's and another similar establishment like Chilis or Applebees, I'd choose Cheddar's every time.

Would love to give zero stars. Horrible experience. I've been at this restaurant before and never had such poor service. It took forever for our food to arrive and when it did it was cold. Several people in our party had to wait for their food after most of us had finished eating. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

  • Adam J.

I went here expecting very little or no quality at all. I expected the wacky apps and silly deals you see at other chain restaurants. First, the restaurant was packed at 9:30pm. Like wait to be seated packed. I looked over the menu when I was waiting to be seated and was struck by how cheap everything was and I was wondering why. I thought for sure it would be a hastily thrown together meal full of cheap ingredients and shortcuts. But I was willing to take a chance. Most drinks were about $4. I opted for a slightly higher end cocktail and it was still only $6.25. Very good and very strong. The server didn't push us to order any appetizers, which I really appreciated. I had this Lemon Pepper Whitefish and it was really, really good and substantial. Also only 480 calories. I think it was $8 As far as I'm concerned, there's never a reason to go to a Chilis or Applebee's again as long as this place is around. It's a very well run and tasty place to eat

Today was the first time I have ever eaten at Cheddars and I'm definitely happy I did! The moment we walked in, our hostess was very friendly and asked if it was too cold inside. The food is ridiculously affordable for how good it is and how much food they give you. The service is another great thing to be mentioned! Our waitress was so nice and always made sure to check on us plenty, but not an obnoxious amount of times. The general manager even came out during our meal to ask how everything was for us, which is always a nice way to make your customers feel cared about! I would recommend this place to everyone looking for great service and yummy food at a great price.

Our overall experience at Cheddar's this afternoon was disappointing to say the least. Service seemed disorganized, we were seated near the kitchen and heard dishes fall and break multiple times, and the food was lacking. It took more than ten minutes to put in our drink orders and receive our drinks. We got our appetizers but didn't have silverware. Then the silverware rolls we received were missing knives. My salad order was wrong but I ate it anyway. Our server, although pleasant seemed overwhelmed and we didn't want to bother her. Then after receiving our entrees, it took some time before the server came and checked on our satisfaction. Unfortunately I found some rice in my side of corn and my loaded baked potato had a piece of chopped apple in it. When I told the server, she did alert the manager on duty. The manager came to our table shortly. She offered to replace the two sides, and I agreed that would be fine. However when the new side of corn came, it STILL had rice mixed in it and the new baked potato was completely underdone. I would have expected the manager to check the pot of corn to ensure that other patrons would not have the same issue, but that does not seem to be the case. Our server did not ask about the replaced items, and the manager did not check in to see if the situation had been rectified. The whole experience was unappetizing and disappointing to say the least. The quality of the food, level of service, and overall value left much to be desired.

I liked this place before the management changed. The food sucks now and the employees are not nearly as good/awesome. The only reason to go to this restaurant is because of the pain killers (alcoholic drink)!

Good value. Nice menu. Like the chicken pot pie. Nice sandwiches and good nachos. Nice bar with comfortable seating. All in all, nice casual place.

Absolutely loved the food as well as the service here! I got the grilled catfish and got 2 sides along with that and it was soo delicious! I went with my friend's roommates and one of them told the waitress it was her birthday so she got a complimentary chocolate fudge cake and I don't even have words to describe how good that was! Lol I would definitely go back! :)

Meh. The food is good, but the service is just downright awful. My coworkers and I work close by but refuse to go here during lunch hour because they are SUPER SLOW. One time, the food took forever to come out and we only had 10 minutes to scarf everything down. Today we went again thinking it would MAYBE be better. Forget it, an hour for just soup and salads. Sorry Cheddars, we won't ever be coming back.

Haven't been here for about 5 years. I was happy to find recently that they have come the closest to the Monte Cristo from Bennigan's. Went to Bennigan's on Michigan Ave. last summer and found out it has closed as well. That sucks. Cheddar's has good food and pretty decent servers. Don't forget to get the Cookie Monster for desert. Its a big warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream.

    (5)
  • Angela P.

That Monte Cristo was perfection! I ate 3/4 of it and was stuffed! Yes, I'd really haul my cookies back to Cheddar's just for that sandwich. Other "pros" include the inexpensive menu (most entrees were less than $10), and the endless drink menu. Cheddar's is a cross between a greasy diner and a family chain restaurant. It lacks the "cool" of TGI Friday's, but it lacks the funeral home carpet of most Greek diners. Lack of identity, check. In the past, I've had the chicken tender platter, which my dining partner agreed was just as good as Chili's. The fries aren't anything special, and they were borderline cold. Our waitress was really weird and she rubbed me the wrong way. I ordered water, and her reply was, "come on girl, water?! It's the weekend!" I couldn't tell by her tone how she meant it. She made an equally awkward comment after we declined ordering dessert. It came off as blatant tip sniffing. When she dropped the check, I wanted to leave right away, she didn't seem cool with anyone sitting and chatting. It appears to be popular with locals, and they probably get some business from travelers being right off of I-55. Cheddar's is on my list for my next Monte Cristo craving. I'd probably sit at the bar in hopes of avoiding that awkward waitress as well.

I've been to this location multiple times, and this is why I'll never return. I went on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was pretty slow. Despite this I only saw my waitress a handful of times. She didn't even bring us our food. Someone else brought it, and it was a little cold. I'm assuming it had been sitting for a while, and she either didn't notice or didn't care. All of this was fine. We still ate, and didn't complain. I ordered the New Tuscan Chicken Sandwich. My mother and sister both got tenders and ribs. This is where the problem came. WARNING TMI to follow!! Shortly after we left the restaurant both my mother and sister began to get very sick. They both had/still have very bad diarrhea, and have been vomiting profusely. This was the first thing we had all eaten that day, and also the only thing they've eaten differently from everyone else in our home, so I know it had to come from here. I was fine with my food, and have not gotten sick. I'm not sure if someone sick cooked the food, or something was old, but we definitely will not return. This isn't the first time this has happened to someone I know at this place, and we kept attributing it to something else.

I've been coming here since this place first opened. I love the atmosphere with all the rich wood decor and the large fish tank. But, I've never been to a restaurant that has gone so up and down over the years. The change must come whenever there's a new manager. Right now, I am not a fan. The last few times I've been there, the bathrooms have not been very clean, the food has been only ok, and the service lacking in care. On a recent visit, we sat at the bar. Behind the bar was a mess, so I can't imagine how bad the kitchen was. The bartender/waitress was sick. --Coughing, sneezing and serving food.-- What manager allows this to go on?....A horrible one.

My review is on the service and service alone. The pure and simple fact being that we never got a table because of the incompetent management staff who is unable to manage high volume traffic, their own staff, and manage expectations. We had never been here and thought it would a good meeting place,as my family lives in opposite directions. Exactly 1 hour in the middle. I called ahead to see if they could accomodate a party of 9 - 3 small children. Manager Mike gave me his word. He made it seem like they could handle a big party in their sleep. I trusted him because A) he is a manager B) this is chain restaurant, how hard can it be. We put our name in a 5 pm (which is a very early dinner time if you ask me) We were told it would be about an hour because 2 8-tops were just seated right before us.Oooookkkkkkayyyyy... Im thinking "gee you can only accomate 2 parties of 8 at per time." MGR Mike reassured me this earlier in the day via phone "This is a big restaurant we can surely accomodate" Wellllll we waited 45 minutes. My 11 month old was belly up to the bar, and an hour past his normal dinner time and while we were able to entertain him and seemed happy, my gut as a mother was starting to tell me this is wrong. The 16 year old hostess did not give us a pager, not sure she even got our names. So I went and check at the hostess stand after 45 minutes of waiting. Me, "Any clue how much longer it's going to be for our table?" hostess "ummmm I told you guys I didnt know, we will call you when it's ready" me "well I need to know that a table is gauranteed to us within the next 15 minutes or we will be leaving" hostess " I dont know what you want me to do?" Me "well then...I guess take our name off the list, bye" ***PLEASE NOTE: Manager Mike was standing behind Princess hostess the entire time, never interjected. NEVER APOLOGIZED.**** AFTER we paid our tab at the bar (YES THEY STILL MADE $$ OFF OF US/never offered to comp anything) We started to pack up. Manager mike came over (VERY DEFENSIVE, Unapologetic, No solution to the problem) Wanted to "hear our side" I explained the above again. STILL NO APOLOGY. I reminded him of the phone call that took place earlier in the day. OOOOOH YESSSS HE REMEMBERED. What was his response to all of this??? "I TOLD YOU ON THE PHONE THERE WOULD BE A WAIT" Now ...correct me if i'm wrong, we waited an hour for a table, a restaurant that could only accomodate 2 large parties at a time. We had 3 small children. HERE IS MY SOLUTION after working in the customer service industry for many, many years. Would it have been wrong for the manager to??? 1)apologize right up front, 2) say please choose 2 or 3 appetizer from our menu "ON US" to help keep your kids from getting crabby and hungry and 3) we will work very hard to get you a table as quickly as possible? We value your business! This could have been a place my family would meet at for years to come, creating repeat business, sadly we wasted to much of our evening at this dump.

Food is really good for the money. If the kid serving me calls me "buddy" one more time there is going to be a smack down tho!

OK so as a self appointed Foodie, I like to take liberties within reason with a restaurant's menu items. To me that is the test of a good eatery. I was eyeing the club sandwich and asked if it were possible to add eggs to it. I was told in no uncertain terms by the waitress that they do not have any eggs and the egg beaters they have are just enough to support the menu items they go into. I have had this done in other restaurants that were considered lower brow than this so I was not sure what the big deal was. Coming from a European affected background, a club sandwich is SUPPOSED to have eggs I don't know why Americans don't seem to get that! Needless to say I am now soured on this place and won't be returning.

I had good service here when I went on 8/14. Jackie was very helpful and attentive. I also like the atmosphere. Friendly and casual. If Patio and Dennys had a baby it would be Cheddars.

Last weekend we were out in Bolingbrook and found ourselves closing in on the lunch hour. It happened Cheddar's was directly in front of us and we decided...why not? The place was packed. There was a very boisterous and diverse crowd of predominantly families. It had the feel of your typical family chain restaurant with a couple of really cool touches (giant leaf like fans in the atrium). We settled into our booth and started looking around. The chicken tenders looked great. That was enough for us, we both ordered them. They came out fresh and our server accidentally dropped one on the tray and she immediately apologized and said she would bring a new one. We had a replacement in the blink of an eye. I really liked that she was upfront and quick about the whole thing...extra points! Also, at one point the manager came over and refilled our drinks to help out the very busy waitresses, I really took note of that as well. Back to the food, everything was fresh and tasty, the serving size was huge and so were the tenders. I ended up bringing half of mine home. The reason I am going four stars here is because most of the time when a visit a chain restaurant I go in with low expectations for both the food and service. This location of Cheddar's completely exceeded my expectations. Both the service and cook staff really have it together and provide a great experience. If I am in the area again I would definitely go back for some more of those delicious tenders!

I usually come here after work once in while for a pain killer! Who needs narcotics when you have this marvelous drink! ! It's delicious but there is a 2 pain killer limit because they WILL sneak up on you. The food is pretty good too I usually get the lemon pepper chicken and tortilla soup which is pretty good. The ambiance is nice, there is a giant fish tank separating the bar from the dining area. If you sit by the bar it's a lot louder and in the dining area it's nice and comfortable. The service is good waiters have always been nice and food and drinks come out quickly.

Not impressed at all. For starters we had the chicken tortilla soup that is unlike any chicken tortilla soup I've ever had at another restaurant. It was almost like watered down chili. Tomato based not chicken broth. Very salty and spicy. The waitress was very inexperienced, which I can understand that everyone is new sometime. But could not remember who got what drink, who got which order etc. the entire visit. Three of the four of us had the chicken alfredo. It was very cold. The carrots were totally cold. The alfredo sauce was almost congealed. The manager did take those orders away and get some more. One plate was steaming hot. The other two mildly warm, and one of those had the chicken completely charred and burnt. We will not be returning to Cheddars.

I have no idea why this chain is popular. Mediocre food. Mediocre service. This is my second time at a Cheddar's and it will be my last. The only thing positive was the croissant.

I hate chains. Chilis-shite. Applebees-Shite. Red Lobster-shite. Olive Garden-REAL shite. OK, a few are alright-Outback & Carraba's can be really good. Houlihans is overpriced, but it can have its moments. Find my review of Golden Corral here on Yelp. Across the street from our local Golden Corral is a CHEDDARS store, which we have been looking at for years, never stepping inside. Our distrust of chains insured it. Then I saw Cheddars was listed as the best of all chains by Consumer Reports. Well worth a try, I figgered. The ambiance is upscale for a chain, and I thought that we would be in Houlhan's territory-that this was a Denny's for the Horsey set. Looked liek it was going to be toffee-nosed and pricey. Wrong. I thought they gave me a trick menu. The prices were stupid low, for what looked like good chow. Wife ordered some shrimps and I ordered a Burger. Both were great. Also got some Potato Skins. All very very good. Fine service, although the nite we were there-all the waitrons looked like the same girl. I saw a few of them standing together, and they all looked alike! Weird! We've been back a few times. Repeat visits have proved this is a chain not worthy of the "chain" stigma. None of this food is revolutionary, they ain't breaking no new ground. It IS prepared fine, and at stone bargain prices. A decent place to go eat...

Stopped in for some drinks for a coworker who was moving on to a new role. The place is nice and was packed. We sat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and helpful. We had a few drinks. I was watching the food for those who choose to eat. Look pretty good and smelled good. One person came in for a order she called in. Bartender promptly got her order then opened each container to show and verify this is what she ordered. Not a bad thing to do. Nice time, good drinks and good service. I will have to try the food next time.

I decided to give the recently remodeled Cheddar's a chance, after a dismal visit years ago left me rather ill and very displeased. I have to say I can dig this scene now. Although the face of the building was spiffily updated, the interior was relatively the same. We were seated immediately, and the rest of the patrons were office personnel enjoying some post-work libations, so it was rather noisy, no matter where you were seated. Our server was quick, but seemed very crabby. We started with a spinach dip appetizer, a raspberry pear margarita, and a strawberry lemonade. The spinach dip was out of this world! A large, hot, cheesy portion, and getting extra tortilla chips for it (free of charge) was a snap. As an added bonus, the margarita was fruity and strong. For an entree, I was going to order a burger, but after reading in the menu they only cook their burgers medium or above, I opted out. I'm a rare meat kind of girl, and like a juicy burger, not a dried out one, which is what medium means to me. So I chose the catfish dinner. The entree was really not all that good. The fish was not very fresh with a rubbery texture. For desert, I wanted to try the red velvet cake mini ( little cake deserts served in shot glassed- for .99 apiece, you can't pass these up,) but the waitress came back to tell me they no longer carry that variety. I had the yet-to-be-advertised strawberry shortcake one instead, and it was just perfect! I could see myself coming back for drinks and apps, but I really would suggest skipping out on the entrees. Also, prices, even on the alcohol, are more than reasonable.

This is the first time I came here in so many years, and I had a great experience! The server was very sweet, the food came out very promptly after ordering, and the portions were quite large! I had enough to eat that night, and enough for lunch the next day easily. The food was amazing! I felt that the mashed potatoes were just average, but it wasn't enough to affect the rest of the meal for me. It was very reasonably priced, which is even better.

This was a weird one... before yesterday it had been at least a year since i've been there. in the past the food was good, but the service was 1-hr-for-any-food horrendous. Anyhow memories fade, and we decided to hit up cheddars again last night. I was kind of prepping myself to be angry about the service again, but lo and behold the food came out quickly and service was pleasant. Problem this time is that the food was school-cafeteria awful. my blackened salmon - not spicy, and bone dry... i didnt think it was possible to overcook salmon. Served with overcooked boiled flat beans.. not so good. Other meals at our table - burger - way overcooked (precooked and sitting in water), chicken pot pie - bland and dry, noodles with red sauce - to quote my daughter "Dad, this tastes like someone opened a jar of tomato sauce and microwaved noodles"... and it did. Best part of the meal was the garden salad, b/c the bowls were pre-chilled - nice touch. Anyhow - now i have to wait at least 1 more year for this memory to fade.

My mom meets friends here for lunch quite often and has wanted us to try it for a long time. We are so glad we did! We went on a Friday night around 6:00 pm and didn't have to wait. It's a cool looking place with comfortable seating. Everyone we met who worked there was friendly and courteous and our server Midori G did a great job. The onion rings are amazing- my new favorite anywhere! Hand breaded and made right when you order them and a generous serving piled high too. They are pretty thin and crispy and come with ranch and chipotle sauces. WOW. My dad and I seemed to have an unspoken race of who could eat them faster. I think I may have won. :) My husband loved the Cajun pasta which had shrimp, sausage and chicken in it. It was a huge portion (we took some home) and came with garlic toast. I had the chicken fingers and the menu says they are also hand breaded and made to order. They were very good and you get a huge portion (I took half home and will reheat them in the toaster oven). You get to choose two sides with most entrees. I got the fries (I didn't like them) and their homemade coleslaw- YUM! My parents got the broccoli cheese casserole as a side and ate it all before they ate anything else. My dad's red beans and rice seemed like soup but he said it was tasty. He liked his catfish a lot and couldn't finish it there was so much. The honey butter croissants were also really good but messy. They have 99 cent mini desserts- I got the chocolate one and it was delicious! What can you get for 99 cents these days- impressive. My mom enjoyed her mini key lime dessert too. The negatives- the restaurant was freezing! Like so cold you can't stop thinking about it cold. And the bathrooms were really messy and the garbage can was overflowing and there was stuff all over the floor even in the stalls. They have a great menu with many selections- so much sounds good. It's also surprisingly affordable! Even though it's a far drive from here I know we will be back.

We went to Cheddars today for lunch on a recommendation from my parents. They liked it for the reasonable prices for dishes such as chicken pot pie and shepards pie. Indeed, at $6.99 that is cheap. Well, I'll go through our dishes; the fish tacos were very good with lots of flavor(fried and blackened), my son enjoyed his 1/2 lb bacon cheeseburger which was huge, my daughter enjoyed her citrus miso glazed salmon over ginger rice(I thought the salmon was overcooked),blackend catfish was pretty good(not completely convinced it was catfish), ribs fell off the bone, but maybe had been sitting around(this was late lunch)my loaded baked potato was so overcooked( has to be from yesterday). Service was friendly. Altogether, I don't think we will return as we have lots of choices for dining in this area.

Went here with family and only one complaint. What I ordered was on the bland side. Staff was great food leading up to mine was good. Manager seemed bored as he kind of shuffled around(the guy in a blue dress shirt). Waitress was phenomenal! She was such a sweetheart and good with young kids. Staff like her is what will get them repeat business. Ask for Monse (Mun-SAY). My boy had kids cheese burger with yogurt apples daughter had noodles with butter and garlic bread. She didn't want marinara on them. I had buffalo chicken wrap but opted for chicken tenders and wife had something... Can't remember. Everyone cleared their plates but I didn't. Loaded fries with ranch we good too.

Food is excellent and the prices an incredible value, however my most recent visit left a very sour taste in my mouth - literally and figuratively. I bit down into a jalapeño burger I ordered only to have something seriously hurt my teeth. Whatever I bit into was practically rock solid, and I suspect it was a jalapeño as some of them were pretty tough to chew. The waitress alerted a manager, who came to speak to me and despite my insistence that I wasn't really looking for a free meal or anything (I just wanted to let them know), seemed to not believe me or particularly care, and ended our conversation with a bizarre "All right, cool. Glad we had this discussion," which seemed bizarre and unprofessional. I'm not adverse to talking to someone naturally, but in a situation like this I would have liked to have felt like the staff at least pretended to care. At least it reminded me to make a sooner dentist appointment - and possibly avoid that location in the future.

Oh Chedders how I hate you so much now!!! I used to be a huuuuugggeee Chedders fan when it was franchise owned before the 2007 shutdown. The burgers were suckulant, juicy, made right, and did I mention they would cook it medium rare to rare without acting like you were nuts? Chedder's was my second favorite burger next to Quigley's in Naperville (also went to s**t). I loved coming to Chedder and sinking my teeth into that juicy, delicious meat that dripped juices down my chin, the thought of it still makes my mouth water to this day. What the hell happened???!!!! I can tell you what happened. Apparently the owner screwed up or something and he bailed and sold it to corporate (Chedder's is actually a chain). They fired the whole staff and redid the place. After they were done I ventured back to one of my favorite establishments. We were waited on by a manager because they had just reopened and were getting everything together and since they were all in training we got a manager. I ordered my favorite burger with onion straws instead of fries. The Chedder's I remembered would give you this heeping pile of delicious onion straws season in black pepper with a side of ranch dressing. The onion straws were piled high and I would leave with a belly so full I could hardley breath. Well to my shock the manager/waiter told me they don't serve the Onion Straws anymore! Then he said they do not cook their burger below medium well!!!! Yuck! I hate dry burgers! Then he was shocked that the old Chedder's even served less cooked burgers! What!!?? They not only do not do it, they almost thought I was nuts for asking!!! I passed on the burger because I did not want a dry corporate burger that I would need to choke down with tons of water. So I ordered some cajun dish, I can't remember exactly what it was but it was not good at all, in fact in was HORRIBLE!! I got this plate of genericly seasoned, not very fresh, crap!! I was and still am pissed, and will never return. If I wanted a corporate chain type place I will just go to TGIF, which actually has better food LOL!

We have come to really enjoy this place. If you read my other reviews, I'm a big fan of summarizing places up in a single word or phrase. I think my word for this place would be consistent. The service here is always very friendly and professional. Even when busy they are prompt in greeting you, getting you on the wait list and they tend to be very accurate in the wait times that they give. Nothing bugs me more than places that consistently and intentionally short claim you wait time to keep you from leaving. We tend to eat here in groups with at least one or two families, and they do handle large tables very well. The menu is varied enough that both the kids, teens and adults all find fare that suits them well. One of the better dishes we've had is a dijon mustard, mushroom chicken dish that is consistently good. It does run on the sweet side however, so be prepared. About the only thing I've ever ordered that I really didn't like was their Monte Christo sandwich. Generally that is ham, chicken mozzarella cheese all on two pieces of french toast.. (I know... not healthy.. but YUM). Their version comes out bascially deep fried. It's like they make the whole thing then drop it into a fryer. It wasn't horrible, but not a good variation of the traditional. That being said, the decor is very nice with big fish tanks for the kids too oogle while waiting. Parking is ample and the prices very resonable. I say try it!

Really impressed! Thought it was going to be like Applebee's. NOT. Everything was GREAT. so NOT expecting that. Even the chicken fingers were awesome! Ribs were falling off the bone and juicy. My daughter had the salmon and said it was the best she'd tasted! Ordered my drink and expected it to be weak since they were so cheap. Again, NOT. Service was good, not phenomenal but the table was kept clear of dishes so I was happy. Overall great dining experience, food and drinks!

We came for dinner about 5:45 on 10/25/2013. Our orders consisted of the Steak and Ribs for both of us with fries, coleslaw and corn as the sides, all to be washed down with Sam Adams. We also got a couple of glasses of water. I wish restaurants wouldn't put lemon wedges into the water. Ask first. The Sam Adams was the best part of the meal. The fries were decent. The ribs were decent. I liked the sauce. My steak was acceptable although a bit overcooked and stringy. My wife's steak was fine, but average. Service was good and it didn't take too long to get our meals. The decor of dark furniture and a fan of palm fronds (or whatever they are) was attractive. The place looked clean including the toilets. I may have skipped checking out the toilet if some wet-wipes were provided with the meal for the post-rib-eating-finger-cleaning! All-in-all, a good experience with some decent food. The price was reasonable as well. While it wouldn't make any difference in what I order, nutritional info for the menu items would be nice to find on the restaurant web site.

My wife and I both agree that this was the absolute worst restaurant experience in our lives... We she had one that was even worse when she was about 8. We decided to go to Cheddars with our 22 month old. We ordered our drinks, received them, and not too long afterwards, our daughter spilled her's on the ground. We don't really expect them to rush over, but after about 5-10 minutes, I would have thought they would have at least gave us a few paper towels... Something. Then they bring out the food, and as they are leaving, we inform them that the floor is wet, and it took another 5 minutes for them to come. When they come, the guy cleans the isle, but leave a big puddle under the table, so I am frustrated beyond belief. I could have dealt with all of that fine. Now it's about 8:30pm, and aside from us, there was only one other family in our area. Since they didn't bother to clean the spill, we decided to moved to the table across from us. The waitress Amy says with a major attitude, "I just cleaned that table!" Then she did not give our daughter another drink. By now, I had officially lost my appetite, and wanted to speak to a manager. The manager obviously didn't care about anything we had to say. All we wanted him to do is have some level of understanding. We wasn't looking for a free meal. In fact, we gave the very rude waitress a great tip. It's just after a long day of intense work as an IT Manager, and my wife as a full time mom of 3, we'd like to just unwind. Not deal with horrible attitudes!

I've given this place several tries. Everytime I think it will be better than last time, and everytime I am dissappointed. There isn't anything special on their menu. There isn't anything special about the atmosphere, and the service is usually subpar. There's no great value. This is a classic case of a place that should be better than they are. I realize they are a chain, but looking at just one location, it could execute so much better.

It took a long time to get drinks ordered. It took a long time for drinks to come. It took a long time for the waiter to come back and get our order. Then it took a long time for the food to come. This place was half empty at the time (clearly understaffed.) The food was not memorable. The drinks were priced well but there was not muck kick to them. It took my party and I about 2 1/2 hours to get outta there. My brother had the same experience a couple of months before I went there.

I have been to Cheddar's after work many times after my original review. Each time the service gets worse....the past two times we were waiting....and waiting...then they would forget something....drinks were made sloppy...after this last time we decided we may have to go to another place to hang out after work. I guess I can't ask for much since we are buying super cheap drinks...

Well, my husband and I used to go to Cheddar's in Bolingbrook, IL almost weekly. Now, we only go for the odd occasion. We don't order drinks, just sodas or tea, but we always go for the delicious Spinach Dip. As usual the dip was delish, then the food arrived. He ordered ribs and tenders; I ordered the favorites Fall-apart Roast Beef. The Ribs & Tenders were perfect but there could have been more mustard dip (a usual miscalculation on Cheddar's part). Now, for the Roast Beef (with carrots, onions, celery and their flavored mashed potato underneath, along with some sort of au jus). I don't know what comes to mind with you all as to what constitutes "fall-apart Roast Beef", but when I have made it MANY MANY ways, it has never been pale beige in color. The au jus was a pale yellowish color, the meat was pale and NOT brown as I felt it should have been (it closely resembled a product I found online: pre-shredded "cooked" beef that is usually frozen, then used as needed). The vegetables were barely edible/tough (should have been tender), but the mashed potatoes were pretty good. I felt a bit cheated at about $9.75 for that plate of miss-matched food. I hate having to bring up stuff like this to the server, so I didn't; instead I ate as much as I could, found out that it wasn't enough food since most of it was inedible, then ordered a side dish of rice with cheese and broccoli. Even that had mostly rice and very little broccoli, but I digress. DON'T order the roast beef unless you know what you're getting into. The server was excellent (thank you Breanna). She was great at anticipating our needs (extra fill-ups, etc.). I will go to Cheddar's again, but will never order that Roast Beef dinner. I prefer my Roast beef fairly intact, brown, in brown juices and I'll use my fork to break it apart, thank you.

Looking at the reviews it seems like before remodeling this place was pretty dumpy. Good thing it isn't the case now! So this is one of the only times I actually tried a place without looking on yelp first and I'm glad I did! If you look at this place from the outside it looks pretty nice with it's gas lamps outside.. Inside there is a nice fishtank and these really cool ceiling fans.. Needless to say I was quite impressed with the interior.. Had one of the limit 2 per person drinks.. it was the Texas Sweet Tea.. I forgot what alcohol was in it besides the vodka, but this was really good. You can tell there is booze in it, but not enough to not be able to slurp it all up in no time! I was nice and boozed with it.. Food itself was cheap and really good. I had the chicken pot pie which came with a salad.. I don't usually have anything good or bad to say about side salads, but this was a good portion and the croissant it came with was really delicious. Also loved the Vermont Honey French dressing it came with.. Pot pie was nice and hot with a flaky crust.. Just really good.. Also had the cookie dessert which wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but was satisfying.. Only ok part of the meal and not enough to detract from the overall service which was really good. Really attentive.. It's kind of sad to see so little reviews for some places in the 'burbs, but I am glad to be able to share this review of what I deem to be something special..

Great food and good beer selection on a budget. I can have an excellent meal and a couple of beers on a tight expense account. Fast friendly service. Watch sports in the bar area or eat in the main dining areas. Fish Tacos, Ribs, Steak, Chicken Wraps; haven't had a bad meal yet.

I find it bizarre that we had to wait to be seated at 4 pm due to a shift change. I've never had that happen at another restaurant so this place must have poor planning when it comes to staffing. Other than that I did like it, particularly the appetizers. Both the onion rings and spinach dip were delicious. I ordered the key west chicken and shrimp. I liked the shrimp but the chicken and rice were just ok. My sides - mashed potatoes and broccoli cheese casserole - were both really yummy. I'd go back to try some other menu items or just order all appetizers since they are very inexpensive and delicious. Visited: November 27, 2011

A very good example of traditional American Cafe. We came here for the first time, although we been passing this place everytime. We checked this place out of curiousity because of the tower fireplace in the parking lot. Very cozy inside, lights are subdued and they even have a huge rotating hand fan in the main dining area, nice huh... Okay let's talk about the food. Menu selections is just average but the kicker is the price list, I mean very affodable. Appetizer - Stacked onion rings - the batter taste okay but the grease is dripping which I ended up peeling it off and just ate the onion flesh. Appetizer - French fries with cheese and bacon bits - huge portion, taste is so so. I ordered deep fride catfish for the main course - very mild and tender inside and the cornmeal covering is just light so it's not taking over the delicate taste of the catfish, for me its very good. The only problem is our server did not include the tartar sauce but he gave me one when I asked. Drinks: Mango Mojito - sour tasting the one I like, they used mango pureed. Although the Pina Colada is very good, I could taste the rum overpowering the coconut flavor. Our bill for a dinner for 5 is less than $ 90 bucks. Now use your judgment.

Terrible, we were seated immediately, waited 20 minutes before seeing a server, and it was not ours, cocktails were watered down, 30 minutes, no server, wife went to ask manager to wait on us, he said ok, then he, the GM, went to the bar, and just started chilling, and chatting putting his charm on the bartender. We decided to leave, he then got off bar stool, and said he would wait on us, my son in law said too frickin late, not swearing or being loud, and the GM jumped his business, wow, we were floored, and went across the street. The GM has serious issues here. They will never see the four of us again

I ordered a steak dinner to go to take back to my wife.at home. I also asked for a loaded baked potato and brocolli casserole. When I got it home naturally it was cold but that is not there fault what is there fault is the potato was not loaded, there was nothing on the potato the steak was arubber hockey puck and this is the worst meal that we ever had at Bolingbrooks Restaurant. I paid for the extra onthe potato and by the time I gothome a d found out out about I couldnt go back.I will never go back to them

Five of us met at Cheddar's at 12:30pm on 7/31/13. Although reservations are not accepted, they were able to locate us at a fairly private corner table in a back section. The restaurant was not too busy, and we were able to leisurely enjoy our get together and present gifts to the guest of honor. Our waiter, Felipe, was excellent - very attentive and friendly, yet not intrusive. Everyone ordered a different menu item, and all enjoyed their selection whether it was salad, sandwich, appetizer, or the favorite chicken & waffle dish. Another favorite was the Arnold Palmer drink. The warm honey butter croissants are fantastic. Love the mini desserts too. Some in our party had been to Cheddar's before and felt this experience was comparable to favorable visits in the past. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. All in all - no complaints.

I have eaten here in the past before the remodeling & it was always one of our favorite restaurants. But after this last visit this past weekend, I think not anymore. The biggest impression I got from this place was SALT!! They have way too much salt on everything. My husband actually couldn't even eat his entire meal, because the salt was upsetting his stomach. He also went through more drinks than usual. I was disappointed that we had to even ask for any refills, which we needed desperately because of the salt. I had ordered the Spasgna w/ meat sauce and the sauce was loaded with salt. Had to scrape it off. I also ordered a Painkiller which, I think, is some sorta Pina Colada. It tasted like it had no alcohol in it at all. In the past I tried their Margaritas, one of my favorite drinks, but theirs are lousy. I would say stick with a beer. And I guess recently they have stopped serving fries w/ the burgers. What's up with that!!! Who doesn't eat fries with their burgers in America?!

Our first trip to Cheddars and will also be our last. I will start from the beginning, we were seated quickly and had a waitress come and ask our drink order right away. We also ordered mozzarella sticks to start with. We placed our food order when our drinks came. We did not order anything out of the ordinary, spaghetti bake and the husband got a burger and fries. While waiting our sticks come out, they were warm and decent but not cheese melting pulling apart. Still we were starving!! So these were gone quickly. Now during this time it had gotten a little but busier but nothing that a restaurant of this size should not be able to handle. The waitress kept coming by saying the food would be out soon. Well when the table next to us got their food and they had ordered after us, I got a little pissy to say the least. So the next time we were told it will out in a few moments, I suggested it better be out ASAP as we had other things to do and that we had placed our order before the table next to us that had more people than us. So the waitress was back and forth a few times and then she stated it was being cooked on a whim or something and we had it like 3 minutes later. Which is good since the husband was about to walk out. He likes his burger, I liked his fries. I was not into the baked spaghetti at all, and the garlic bread was soggy. I don't know about desert because we had already been there way too long. So we will not go back, which is a shame because I liked the decor and atmosphere. Maybe they need to get some cooks who know how to actual deal with a lunch crowd.

Absolutely the best value anywhere for a full service sit down facility. The menu prices are fantastic and you get a lot of food for your money. We've been coming to this location since it was a franchise(its now corporate) store and we enjoy it every time. Portion size on the salmon shrunk a little, but its still awesome. Spinach dip is awesome, atmosphere is good, the only down side is they seem to go thru servers alot, always new faces and sometimes a little slow on the service side of things(that's why 4 stars), however 5 stars for food. Worth a visit if you live close.

Took the family to cheddar for dinner. Service was slow but friendly. Food was average nothing special. Prices were reasonable. Nothing stands out here just your average burgers and American cuisine.

The steak was dry, the phillie cheese steak was salty and the worst thing was my 4 year old daughter was give spoiled orange juice that was fermented and taste like alcohol. These guys have loss there standards.

I have been to 8 different Cheddars, and boy was I pissed when I came to this location the food was okay too which I have had much better at other locations. Now the customer service was a H.A.M (hot a** mess) it is pretty bad when you have to get up to find you server when she only has 2 tables, it was almost like she had forgot she was at work and if you asked me she seem like she was getting over a hang over.

I enjoyed my experience at Cheddar's. My waitress was very accomodating and attentive. We had a party of ten with one arriving late and she never missed a beat. I wish I could remember her name, I really love reporting good service. The food portions were very large and filling. Absolutely, nothing bad to say. I will definitely return.

I had not been here in about ten years, and they have remodeled it since then. It looks great on the inside, and the food is still good! I recommend you try the honey butter croissants!! I had the shrimp dinner with red beans -N- rice and green beans. It was all good! The shrimp were huge butterflied ones. The red beans and rice were different than what I was used to. I am used to a thicker consistency, but cheddars red beans has a great taste!! The food here is very reasonably priced as well.

I've lived near this place for 7 years and never went in. The place just looked shady to me. Then I noticed recently that the place had been remodeled. The outside looked inviting and the parking lot is full every single time I pass by. So, we finally decided to give it a shot and boy am I happy we did. I love the decor, it is trendy , clean, and inviting. The staff was attentive and friendly. It was a busy Saturday night. Our waiter came back to our table twice to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything. Now on to the menu. Hmmmm. I tend to eat on the healthy side, so the burgers and fried food aren't for me. I decided to go with the Pecan Chicken Salad $7 and OMG! It was HEAVENLY. The pecans are honey roasted and I swear I'd go back just to have another handful of those. It also comes with a buttery melt-in your mouth croissant. I don't even want to know how many calories were in that! It was delicious. I also like the fact that you can get alternate sides for about $1.69. I addeda loaded baked potato which did not disappoint. As for drinks, I also tend to stay away from pop and was thrilled to see that they had strawberry lemonade...you know the kind with REAL strawberries floating in it. YUM! My husband went with the Bacon Cheeseburger for $4.99 and a pint of Blue Moon (on tap) $2.99 and also had a loaded baked potato. He gave all of it two thumbs up. The check arrives- $26 for a delicious meal that we will DEFINITELY be going back for. Cheap and good, my kinda dinner!

Let me first say that my wife and I have been here numerous times and we like the catfish (lunch or dinner) and New Orleans pasta. No to mention, the drinks are good and cheap and the croissant are amazing. We never had an issue until now. During our last visit on presidents day the experience was just horrible. We invited my sister-in-law and her family to try Chedder's and I was embarrassed. Firstly it was not at all crowded but for some reason they sat us in the back and the service was horrible and slow. After we ordered our waitress came back 10 minutes later to tell us they had no more of one of the entrees we ordered. Our appetizers came out slow and luke warm and finally after almost and hour our entries finally came out. We where so disappointed with the service we didn't even want to order dessert because we did not want to wait another 30 minutes. Our waitress not once during the wait came to tell us what was going on, top off our drinks or simply check on us. Each time what appeared to be a manager walked passed not once did they even look in our direction. We where do angry we could not wait to leave. It will be a long time if ever we return to Chedder's. 2 stars because in the past the experience was better but this time left me with a very bad feeling about Cheeder's.

Cheddars is a solid chain restaurant. Be careful if you like your steak rare. I sent mine back twice and on the third time it was still medium. The staff was very patient and the steak was really good even though it was medium. I loved the salad, side dishes, and honey rolls. It is cheap. You can stuff yourself for ten bucks.

Another one of our re-visits. After a few more times here we saw that the new managment have taken steps to improve things hence my higher rtaing. Like an reviewer stated there should be no reason to wait for seating when the palce isn't full? Otherwise, a vast improvemnet over my last review.

I'm a regular Cheddar's customer and am writing a review now to thank the manager, Mike, for his exceptional customer service this evening. Normally, Cheddar's food quality, etc. is up to par and tonight it was different due to an influx of unexpected customers. At any rate, after waiting for a longer period of time to submit a phone order, I ended up having to drive to the facility and place my order at the bar; however, I was running behind schedule for work and a friend offered to bring it to me. Upon receiving the order, it looked as if it were thrown together - missing some of the food - the quality was definitely not what I'm use to. Immediately, I contacted them and asked to speak with a manager who was VERY honest and apologetic for how the meal turned out. He did not make excuses or try and sugar coat why the meal wasn't correct but instead he offered to make it right immediately. So, although it was a bad experience, that's ok; no business is perfect. But the fact that he showed great service skills will make me continue to go there for my grilled salmon. Thanks Mike:-)

I have been eating at Cheddar's for years. They closed down for about 6 months and just opened back up yesterday 1/12/09. I of course was there last night because I was so excited they were back in business. It was well worth the wait. The food was just as amazing as it was before. They did beautiful renovations and everything was it great shape. I am under the impression it was closed because it was taken over by corporate and remodeled. The food was great and the staff was even better. I have never had a bad experience there in all the years I have been going. I have never had food I didn't enjoy either. I love this place!

OMG this is one of my favorite restaurants now. I went there not knowing what to expect but the cozy atmosphere wad very inviting. Sitting my large party was a challenge to the hostess but the manger on duty was very accommodating apps were on him. The prices were so cheap so I assumed the food would not be good but I was completely wrong the portions were huge and the food was excellent. The waitress was very attentive to the table so I did not have a need for anything. The chicken tenders and shrimp were good ad well as the catfish, smokehouse burger, and the New Orleans pasta.

The food wasn't bad. Service however was pretty lousy. Our waitress seemed pretty annoyed at having to be there for the entire time we were there. Can't say I was super impressed. The lemon pepper chicken I had was pretty good, and that famous croissant of theirs is quite tasty. The staff just needs a friendly injection.

Lots of food! Little money!!! This place is wonderful. The atmosphere is just right, clean, open and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly but when the place is busy they tend to come around less often. Their drinks are delicious and huge! You can't beat these prices. I definitely think you need to check it out!

I've been going to Cheddar's for a while...pretty much since their original opening in Bolingbrook and, I must say, the food was simply not good. I ordered that beer battered shrimp and let's just say that those shrimp still had some fight left in them. They were completely undercooked....how in the world do you mess up fried shrimp?!?! My sister order the bourbon glazed salmon and she said that there was so much glaze (which was all over the plate) that it just totally made the dish unappetizing. The saving grace was the honey-butter croissants (my FAVORITE) and the fact that the place was not so crowded, but I've been there when it's been packed (I was once seated in the indoor "patio" where it was not only freezing cold, but the floor was NASTY! It was like people just dumped whatever was left over from their plates onto the floor. I won't be going back.

We LOVE Cheddars! My family comes here at least once a month and it's the first place we recommend to other people. We even had our wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2005 for about 60 people. I was devastated when they closed but was happy it was just for a remodel. The food here has always been great ~ super fresh. You certainly can't beat the prices. $9 for a huge plate of chicken strips and 2 sides. We always bring half of it home for lunch the next day as the portions are huge. I agree that the wait staff is a little lacking at times, but I feel the overall quaility of the restaurant trumps this. Oh! And did I mention the spinach dip and fresh brewed mango iced tea!! yum :)
