Does not look appealing from the outside at all, but it's so much better than you could ever imagine. They need a bit of a facelift, but the food is so amazing! Just give them a try!

Read some reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I ordered a fish taco and my girlfriend had a slice of pizza. The pizza was average but the fish taco was very good. I have a healthy appetite and the fish taco was enough to satisfy (along with a few delicious fries). Will be back to further explore the menu!

This place is legit. I honestly laughed at the "Pizza" sign on first sight but after checking it out, it lived up to all of the hype. I ordered the buffalo chicken pita and fries. Both were phenomenal. Sam says they aren't able to deliver anymore. Thank god I love a block away! Only improvement would be later hours. Like 4 am or so.

One visit to Sams and you're going to be hooked! Great tasting and plentiful servings will make you not want to go anywhere else! Sams and staff are very excited to serve you one of their awesome fresh cooked dishes and they are very humble and ready to spark up a conversation with you about anything! If you like a special touch on anything just ask and you'll be served! Great place to share about with others!

Having Sam's less than a minute from our house is really dangerous. Their burgers are THE BEST! Their wings are also awesome. We haven't found a thing at Sam's we don't love. Definitely one of the best spots in Bartlett

This place is terrific. He needs to open a chain. There's a very friendly family running it. The tandoori pizza is GREAT. I wish they still did deliveries. I heard they started doing it on weekends. Nobody in the area can hold a candle to these guys.

This small hole in a wall kind of place is in a strip mall near my house. Sam, the owner is a really nice guy who would always remember your name and possibly previous order(s) too. My husband is a vegetarian so we have tried mostly all vegetarian items here- My favorite would be the pao bhaji and for the fish tacos. For everything else that I tried I always find something missing- that would be the freshness. For example- the paneer tikka roll is served in a frozen parantha and that kind of changes the texture and taste of the whole tikka roll for me(chicken or paneer is actually good, it's just the bread I never liked). Apart from that I recently tried the giant cheese pizza slice, it was okay, nothing spectacular.

Update?! Of course I have an update! At this point I have have tried everything on the menu and they have never disappointed. The burgers, the italian beef, the pizza, the fries, it's all good. The Chicken Tandoori: pita, pizza and paratha all amazing. The burgers are GREAT! One of my favorites is the Hickory Burger. The man is a surgeon with bacon. It's cooked well, it's constructed tightly so the ingredients aren't sliding out of the burger while you eat it. Something I admire in burgers the same way I do sushi that doesn't fall apart when you pick it up. The hot dogs are delicious and there is a wide variety of options. Consistent through all meal options is the quality of ingredients and the great skill with which they are executed. Sam's very happily marries American standbys with a couple Indian ingredients as an added bonus which is not something I would have ever expected from a place in a strip mall in Bartlett, IL.

I really like this place! The owner and his family are by far some of the nicest people I've met. The owner loves to greet and talk to all his customers. The food is always fresh which does mean longer waits. Nothing here is frozen the family makes it all by hand. I recommend the wings due to how large they are and the many sauce choices makes this place a great place for dinner to go! I highly recommend you call ahead to pick up your order due to on average 10-30min wait time for food. Support a great run family business that honestly cares if you enjoy the meal or not. (I wish I could order the wings on Sunday for football games!(closed on Sunday)

I'm done with Sam's. Tonight is the third time in the last year that I tried and failed to get dinner! They do not keep true to their own posted operating hours. Always closing early. Tonight I called at 7pm to order wings, he said it would be just a few min. I said oh it usually takes longer. I can't make it that quick. I asked if they could put the order in so that it was ready to be picked up around 745. He said no, we can't do that and then hung up on me as I was trying to say ok if call back in 30 min to order again. So fast forward to 7:38 exactly I call again. They won't answer the phone. I called about 5 times. Finally knowing they are going to close at 8 my husband runs over there to order in person....doors locked and lights off when he gets there at 745 which is still 15 min before they are supposed to be closed. I've had this happen 3 times now! I'm sorry, but no food is worth that effort and it's just poor customer service. If you post you're open until 8, and your answering machine says your open until 8 you need to be open until 8. Or have a well posted disclaimer that says we close when we please because we don't care about our customers. My husband was in the parking lot at 745 listening to a message saying they are open for another 15 min. Nice. The first time this happened I called 30 min before closing and the guy said they don't take orders that late.....I said I didn't understand because they were open for another 30 min. Apparently when it says they close at a certain time that's when they plan on walking out the door and has nothing to do with what time they will serve customers. You don't want my business, I understand. That's been made clear. I'll make sure to let anyone I can know not to waste their time checking Sams out anymore, I can't trust I wouldn't be making a jerk out of myself recommending.

We went there all the way from palatine and the place got closed an hour before its regular time. There were about 5- 6 people sitting inside but nobody had a courtesy to open the door and serve their customers!! Bummer! Food it great but if you don't get to eat it then what's the point!!

After recently moving to the area from Chicago, (a.k.a. Food Heaven!), we found ourselves craving unique food establishments, rather than the typical food chains. Today, I was looking for a good burger and fresh-cut fries and I came across Sam's Grill. I have to tell you......YUM! My cheeseburger and fries were AWESOME and exactly what I was looking for. I'll definitely return....looking forward to trying the Tandoori Chicken. Also, make sure you meet Sam. He is a sweetheart and one of the friendliest business owners I have ever met.

UPDATE - 4/6/2015. Sam's offers deliveries on the weekends now. We have ordered delivery now a couple times and both times received our food promptly from a very chill and polite delivery boy. The delivery offer is a godsend because now I can order on those lazy weekend days when I'm too hungover to think about driving. I've eaten more or less everything off the menu at this point and it's all great. The hickory burger and Jalapeno Cheddar Burger are my favorites. and OH MY GOD the buffalo wings are perfect. It's still all about the Chicken Tandoori and mexican pizza's though. On top of everything, Sam is one of the most sincere and kindest restaurant owners I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He always makes you feel extremely welcome the second you walk into his restaurant. My only regret of ordering delivery is not getting to stop in and say hi! - ORIGINAL REVIEW - I've been holding off reviewing this place for a bit because I wanted to try a lot of their stuff, but upon eating the Chicken Tandoori Pizza last night, i can no longer stay silent. It was among the finest pies I have eaten in my life. The fresh cut fries they serve manage to be crispy, not soggy, as so many other establishments do. The deep fried taco is stuff of legends. I will not stop, nay, I CAN'T stop going here until I sample everything on the menu. The people here are the friendliest dudes, if you have to wait awhile for food, trust me, it is worth it!!!

The deep-fried Jersey Dog was fantastic! Yellow mustard and a mix of flattop seared peppers and onions blanketed a perfectly fried weenie on a fluffy sausage roll. My friend got the BBQ Dog... Also delicious! I work at a higher-end restaurant and we serve amazing hand-cut fries. I will say that the fries here were even better. Furthermore they (the fries) were beautiful (strange to say about a French fry, but see for yourself)! Heads up: they are closed from 2:00-4:00. Get this: they leave for the grocery store to replenish their stock, ensuring the ingredients are as fresh for the dinner rush as they are for the lunch crowd. Certainly cuts into the owners'profit margin to close during such a time, but I give them props for choosing quality over quantity. Who does that, especially for a burger & dog place? Sam's does and the freshness is evident and much appreciated!

Monday a buddy of mine wanted to grab lunch but we didn't know where. That's when we stumbled upon Sam's. Sam's is a local family run business where the food tastes as good as it looks. Everything is done fresh and made to order and you can totally tell. I had the BBQ Dog and if you like delicious messy food like I do, then this dog is for you. Just FYI Sam's is closed from 2-4 every day to ensure they have the freshest ingredients. Sam's has the best food around the area. Go check them out!

Okay, time for an update! The owner reached out to me after my previous review and apologized for the service we got that night. So, when we were hankering for a pizza again, we decided to give Sam's another shot, and I am very glad that we did. This time around, we did get our pizza, and it was delicious. We got the Tandoori Chicken pizza, which wasn't really my cup of tea (I am a total baby when it comes to spicy food), it was obvious that the ingredients were of quality and after shuffling my chicken pieces over to my husband's slice, it was wonderful. We also got some fries, which I did heartily chow down on. I'm particular when it comes to fries. They have to be right. If you're like me, come here, because they definitely do it right. I'm very glad that Sam got in touch with me. We're all looking forward to trying another pizza (and gettin' down on some more of those fries) in the future.

awesome food! friendly staff. we asked for the potatoe on a stick, and it was great! pizza, tandoori pita and loaded fries. everything is just perfect quality and excellent taste.

For a hole in the wall place, it's pretty good. My coworker and I both got a burger. Honestly, for the wait and price I'd probably rather hit a Five Guys or Smashburger. The fries we're just ok. It was definitely made fresh when we ordered (2 burgers and fries took a little better than 10 minutes). I would go back to try something else. Burgers are not something I'd order again.

This is definitely a take-out place unless you are really starving and have no where to go - then you can utilize one of the 3 stools at their small counter or one of the two tiny tables in the entry area. The Hubs & I stopped by intending to dine in but upon seeing how small it was decided to take it home. We shared an order of Beer Nuggets and the Tandoori Chicken Paratha sandwich. The sandwich comes already split in two so it made sharing easy and was enough to share especially with the addition of the Beer Nuggets. The sandwich was well-seasoned & quite tasty, spicy but not much heat. The Beer Nuggets could have used some sort of seasoning in the dough as they seemed rather bland but the marinara sauce it came with for dipping was quite good and made up for it in the flavor department. Our order was ready in 10 minutes. They have quite a variety of sandwiches, burgers and 11 or 12 different wing sauces so if we're ever in the area again and wanting take out I'd definitely try some more of their offerings.

Have you ever had a fried taco?! No? Well, make your way over to Sam's, introduce yourself to Sam (trust me, you can't miss him) and tell him you need a fried taco....STAT! Let him be creative, because he is innovative and a wonderful cook! Seriously, I love Sam, his wife and their son, Nick. They are some of the kindest people I have encountered in years. AAAAAND they know how to cook. They have a few seats inside but it's mostly a takeout place and with the sweetest staff at your service, it can def be a place to grab a bite for lunch or a quickie dinner. I have only had a fried taco and some fresh cut French fries SO FAR but I have to tell you that their food is delish! They obviously use all fresh ingredients and everything is very well seasoned. I cannot wait to explore Sam's menu further. I look forward to my next visit when I hope I can try their Saturday rib special ($18.99/ full slab or $9.99/ half slab) or one of their burgers that I understand Sam mixes with his special combination of seasonings. I intend on going back to soon to support our local business owner and get my fix of good food at a place I think I could hang out at for hours and hours.

We literally just noticed this place earlier today (after moving into our new home blocks away over a year ago), stopped in to pick up a few menus, and then we came back in the evening to order. I gotta say I agree with the other people -- the place doesn't have any curb appeal and looks rather beat down from the street. Not exactly appetizing to look at, but we were desperate for a new food place near us and you can only eat so much TL's. Anyway, glad we went in!!!! First, Sam has got to be our new favorite person in the world. Talk about personable. This guy is so animated and friendly; he's got to be the nicest person in the world. No, I mean it. Literally. Secondly, for all his gushing about his food, he wasn't lying. We played it safe by ordering a few burgers, wings and loaded fries since it was our first time here, but man was it delicious. Sometimes a good burger just really hits the spot. We are definitely excited to try all the other varied foods on the menu now, especially given what we just ate and all the other reviews on here. A+ on food, and A++++++ on service. We finished our food 15 minutes ago, and I am on here writing a review (which you can check, I rarely do). That's how much I wanted to take a minute and give this guy the praise he deserves.

We've been here twice, both times were very impressed. Really good food. The first visit we ordered the tandoori chicken pita and the fish taco, which was a special. Both were well-cooked and delicious. Good-sized portions, too. Last night my wife ordered the tandoori chicken pita again, but asked for the components separate so she could make a salad. They complied and she loved it. I ordered the gyro burger, and it was huge, and as good as any burger I could have made at home. They use fresh beef in their burgers. The fresh-cut fries were also great. I'm looking forward to working my way through their menu.

Have been back three times since my first visit. I've tried the ribs, the wings, and three different kinds of hot dogs. I remain impressed. Each was wonderful, worth getting again and delicious. Highly recommend anything with bacon on it. My all-time favorite is the Jersey dog. I've never had a better hot dog in my life and suspect I never will. I love Sam's place. It's a gem.

  • D D.

I love this place! For sure a hidden gem! The food is great, try the wings, they're huge and absolutely delicious. So many different sauces and haven't found one that I don't like yet. Chicken tandoori pita---soooo good! The staff is extremely friendly and seems like they truly appreciate your business, so refreshing! Tip: call ahead for food, like others have said it does take a bit longer than your typical fast food place as they make more from 'scratch'. But it's totally worth it!!!!

recent order on 2/10. The garlic parmesan chicken wings were perfect. Excellent Tandoori Chicken Pita, Excellent Gyro, perfectly made. I also want to note that I have driven to Barrington Road ( Port's) for a chopped salad and paid $7.99. At Sam's Grill I received a good portion with excellent quality for a far more reasonable price. Its nice to know there is a great eatery so nearby downtown Bartlett.

  • Kate F.

Everything is good here but it's the giant $3 fried pita tacos that keep us coming back on a weekly basis. We call and order ahead since fresh food of this caliber takes a few minutes bu it's always worth the wait. Sam makes his own everything right down to the fries and BBQ sauce- no frozen garbage here. Sam and his son are so friendly and enthusiastic about creating unusual and delicious new foods. Ask for recommendations, you won't be steered wrong. Who knew tandoori chicken tastes great on pizza?

After reading all the great reviews I finally made it. Its like a real Joint that is made for and by Foodies. Be prepared for a huge menu they will make any decisions incredibly hard. I had a Gyro and my wife the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger but the highlight was the enormous loaded Fries. They start with some excellent double fried fresh cut fries and load on chili, bacon cheese Amazing! The Gyro was loaded and very good and my wife really enjoyed the burger. I can wait to eat my way through the rest of the menu. This place is a real gem in the chainstore overloaded suburban landscape.

OMG, is all I have to say!! I have lived in Bartlett for 6 years and I just found this amazing family owned place. Let me just tell you that the owners are such amazingly nice people that I would make it a regular stop just for that. But, the food is out of this world, my wife had the bacon cheeseburger with the beernuggets and some fries, let me tell you that I have never seen her eat her food sooooo fast because it was soooo good. I had a Coney dog, even though it had beans and in my eyes a true Coney dog has no beans, but the sun stated it was a Jersey Coney not Detroit, the Coney was delicious. Then I had the tandoori chicken and it was out of this world. When you get it on a pita with lettuce, onions, tomatoes and their homemade sauce it rocks your taste buds to a new level. One more thing, their BBQ sauce was some of the best I have ever had, we were licking the cup for the last drop. Come from near to far and try out this epic family run restaurant!!!!!! Thank you Sam and family!!!

Best way to describe an experience here: think of the best hole in the wall place you know in the city. How creative, how yummy, how the service is wonderful, times 10! Sam and his family who own and run it know good food! They are also some of the nicest friendliest people! Everything on the menu is amazing! Can't decide on what you might like? Ask! They will give you a great suggestion and make your tummy very happy!!!

We live right behind sams, they have great food. My fav is there loaded fries and Buffalo pita. My boyfriend loves there gyros. Really fast and food is always consistently great. And their staff is really nice as well. NEEDS TO STAY OPEN LATE FOR THE BAR DOWN THE WAY!!!!!!!

  • Matt G.

This food is absolutely delicious. Tried the Bacon and Bleu Burger and 6 BBQ Wings. Without question, the food was fresh. The difference in taste was apparent. Fresh food takes additional time - so be prepared to wait, but it is worth it. Next time I will call ahead. The owner is clearly passionate about his recipes and he even offered us a sample of the fries and sauces. HIGHLY Recommended.

I happen to live very close by to Sam's Pizza and grill. I was offered a medium 1topping pizza for special $10 and also asked to add another extra topping which they gladly did and just charged for the extra topping and very kindly accepted my order. Not like other places where they do not like to bend ways for the customer. The owners Sam and his wife a extremely great couple and are great people to talk to. They made my pizza fresh and only after the order. So do expect a little extra waiting time for your awesome pizza to get ready, it's worth the wait. And when you have to wait for the food you know it's getting made fresh from scratch. I will definitely be going there again. It's a nice local joint for pizza.

I wanted to like this place. Read the reviews Tried it for ourselves. The other 18 reviews must be relatives. Friendly guy behind counter. Pizza genetic tasting, salty and crust tough. Skip this place.

I was so glad that I tried this place when driving to the 7-Eleven in the same strip one day. My parents live down the street and we decided to try it out. I was hoping that they had pizza puffs (because I love those and they did, so I was VERY excited!) And it was very good, because sometimes pizza puffs don't turn out very well at some places I've noticed. The people there are very sweet and pretty funny, too! If you haven't tried it yet, then you need to go now! Everything that I have tried there so far has been excellent and it's always fresh, too, like it's not frozen and then fried up, it doesn't taste like that, you know? I've had the fried taco, loaded nachos, onion rings, the fries are fresh cut and very good as well, and the barbeque sauce is really, really good. Order it with the onion rings, you won't be sorry. The pricing is also very decent, especially for the amount of food you get with it! I like getting a lot of food because I can have leftovers and it's worth your money because it fed you for at least two meals, that's the way I look at it anyway. They also do catering, which was great to find out! I needed food for my daughter's first birthday back in February, so I decided to try them out and it turned out just fantastic. I attached some photos and quite a few people asked me where I got the food from, they were impressed. So was I, and you should check this place out, whether it's for a regular meal or for a special event you need catered.

Guys, I've been here a few times now because of the yelp reviews and I can tell you: this place is the real deal. Everything everyone has said about the place and it's owners is true. The best tip I can give you is order ahead or you will be waiting a long time since everything is made to order. Here's the food I've tried so far: 1) Wings: I'm a wing snob and these are by far the best wings I've ever had. These guys make their own sauces and better than everyone else, plus the wings are gigantic and the skin is crispy, especially the sooner you eat them. I've had the kickin BBQ and buffalo and both are great. 2) Pitas: I had the buffalo one which was good, but a little mild for me, and the chicken bacon ranch which was excellent. 3) hotdogs: I had the chili cheese dog. Of course they make their own chili, and it's fantastic. Best chili dog I've had in a long time. 4) Burgers: I had the bacon bleu burger and this was their only misstep for me. I didn't like this one at all. 5) Misc: I tried the beer nuggets...ok by themselves but the marinara it comes with is fantastic. I also tried the deep fried Twinkie. That should speak for itself. Go. Guaranteed you won't regret it.

First time customer for lunch today. Anticipate this being my go-to place for lunch. Today's lunch was Italian Beef and Fries. VERY good! Beef was tender and juicy. The fries are wonderful. Had a great conversation with the guys while I was there. Its obvious they are very proud of their homemade food. Can't wait to try the burgers, pizza, ribs, and Tandoor Chicke Parathas...mmm. Wish I was hungry to I could try more stuff today but now I'm stuffed.

Sometimes you're in a greasy-bar-food kind of a mood, but you don't want fast food, and you don't want to actually GO to a bar! Enter in Sam's Grill. This is a little restaurant located in a little strip in Bartlett (close to Hanover Park). It is a little difficult to find--especially in the dark--and it just says PIZZA on the roof of the building, not their actual name. So be on the lookout!! There are about five seats in this place TOTAL so take-out is probably best! Anyway, the service here is PHENOMENAL. I wish there were more stars I could give this place just based on the service and friendliness of the staff alone. The food was just as good, but I love a place that has a friendly staff and appreciates your business. You could just tell they were grateful to have the business from the moment we walked in. OK, so here is what we originally ordered (to be split among three of us) 12 Hell Raiser Wings (for the husband) Fries Gyro Dinner Italian Beef Sandwich Loaded Cheese Fries Cup of Chili Now after we had ordered that, the nice man behind the counter, Nick, brought it to our attention that nobody has made it through 5 of those wings and offered us a taste to MAKE SURE that's what he wanted (after a burning throat and watering eyes, we determined that NOBODY would enjoy that). So they made him a spicy buffalo sauce that wasn't even on the menu. Talk about service! But other than that, he was really sweet answering all of our questions and after they saw our burning mouths (yikes), a really sweet guy from the back brought out bread with cinnamon, sugar, and honey on it to calm our palates. How sweet (literally!) All of the food was really, really good, too. There was nothing I was eating that I was thinking "I could use some _____" or "I wish it had _____". It was all very, very good!! My only complaint is that they forgot my chili :( I didn't realize it until I got home, so I didn't want to go back. But honestly, I am more upset about the fact that I missed out on trying some bomb-ass chili (and I know the chili will be amazing if my loaded fries are any indication!!). So I can't wait to go back...and try the chili. :) (NOTE: They don't have a menu online, but I uploaded pictures. I recommend calling ahead since they make everything fresh. There is also a menu on Facebook on their company page)

I recommend the Chicken Tandoori... EVERYTHING! The pita, the prarthana, and yes even the chicken tandoori pizza. Sams teases with some of the spices and flavors of India on the foundation of the All American Diner. The combination is WIN! I think the name "Sam's Grill" is a misnomer that evokes the standard hot dogs, burgers and gyros. Though I would pass by it daily, I had not gone into this place for years thinking it was just another dog & burger joint. Chicagoland is nothing if not overwhelmed by tons of top notch dog & burger joints already. I was astonished to find something so unique and unsuspecting hidden in such a inconspicuous location. After all, it is small and in an off the beaten path strip mall. It's really for pickup & take out as the front doesn't lend itself to sit down dining. Although he does have a couple chairs and a stool perched against the wall that is carpet bombed by local merchants business cards and flyers. The owner and son are very friendly, conversant, and seem to truly appreciate my business. Though I wouldn't engage much idle chat during lunch rush. They do have a steady business to run and the staff is small. The fusion of flavors I found in this place sets this guy apart from everyone else. Sam's Grill delivers on an unusual blend of oddly addictive Indian flavors and spices with traditional American and Greek foods. I was stunned at how good my first chicken tandoori pita was and it keeps me coming back for more. I've now taken it on as a personal challenge to go down the list of Indian fusion creations Sam's has to offer and look forward to more creations. This flavor is unique, weird, delicious, addictive and something I can't even describe. I would recommend this to anyone that may think they do not like Indian food due to a bad experience with something a little "too authentic." Or perhaps to someone that has an interest and wants to try new Indian flavors but might be intimidated or confused by a completely alien menu at an authentic Indian restaurant that may be a bit much. I wish for nothing but big success to these guys and hope they expand to another couple more locations soon.

I bookmarked Sam's based on reviews on Yelp. Today I finally made my way over there. First of all, Sam is very nice and entertaining to talk to. You will walk out of there with a smile for sure. I ordered the tandoori chicken on a pita, but he talked me into another version on a crispy bread. OMG... it was amazing. Although I didn't order fries, he threw in a few for me to sample. Also very crispy (surprising since they're fresh-cut) and tasty. I think a Tandoori chicken salad would be great, and I'm sure Sam would make it if you wanted it. Great find, and some day I'll try the pizza.

Got to get a quick complaint out of the way. I ordered well ahead of time and was told that it would be 25 minutes. I get to the place 32.7 minutes later and was told just "5" more minutes before your order is ready...Sure... I ended up waiting another 15 minutes in the shop as the main guy dillywag with his friend. No apology, no nothing...that kind of irked me, since it was apparent how much bs his estimate of time was. Anyways, I ordered the chicken tandoori pizza and wings (buffalo/lemon pepper). Was not that impressed by the pizza. Indeed, the crust was...fantastic...not sure how to describe it other than pita-ish. However, the toppings and sauce was meh. Confuzzle as to why other yelpers raved madly regarding the pizza when it was...alright. The wings definitely had an awesome crispy texture, but there is a BUT. Buffalo sauce was leaning too far on the sour side to the point where I would describe that even BDUBs sauce is better. Lemon Pepper version though was perfect, so I would recommend the wings definitely, albeit, with a different sauce/seasoning other than buffalo.

So.... I dont get to write many reviews but Sams requires it . First off Sam is a rockstar, makes you really feel like he is making the food for love not for money. ok lets start 1.) I had there hottest wings ( forgot the name) I eat spicy but those kicked me in the a$$... but not just heat great taste. 2.) Pau Bhaji & Pau Bhaji Pizza.. I have been to mumbai 4 times in 2 years and Pav Bhaji might be one of my top 3 street foods, and Sams makes it like Bombay, plus at only 6 dollars a plate. I highly recommend it 3.) Tandoori Chicken Pita or Pizza ... Nothing to say here as a restaurant fanatic I have had Tandoori chicken at every restaurant in 30 miles probably and frankly the 15 dollar plates cant touch his 6 dollar pita , perfectly marinated and just tasty. 4.) Paneer Roll.... First off this is not paneer you get anywhere you cant buy it , this is proper indian paneer dense and just amazing, I got it spicy and it had just the right amount of burn. Sam laughs that he has met half my family cause they have all come in with my recommendation, and not one has told me I was wrong. Our family chef has said his Pav Bhaji is the best she has had outside of Bombay ! Thank god for this place.

I had the Chili cheese dog it was so delicious! It had beans, cheese, chili and crispy bacon on top. I then tried the mango kulfi for desert and it was outstanding! It's like an ice cream but a little different but made with fresh mangos! The owners are very friendly and make everything completely homemade.

I seen Sams a few months ago on yelp and after viewing the reviews I knew I had to come here. I finally made it in today and it definitely was all worth the hype. I had the fried taco which was out of this world, and my girlfriend had the jalapeño burger which was also excellent. Ruben one of the owners was very nice and during my visit made us a fried strawberry Twinkie which wow is all I have to say. This restaurant has a great selection at outstanding prices. Not to mention the owners Sam, Ruben, and the rest of the family are extremely hospitable, knowledgeable and are the definition of what customer service is all about. Will most definitely be back.

This place a is gem. It's should be on one of those "hole one the wall" food shows. Went there tonight for the first time to try something different. Different is what we got. Tandoori chicken pizza!!! Who comes up with this. It was awesome. The whole family loves it. It's got to be the only place you can get a hot dog, burger, and Indian food. I think we found our new pizza joint.

Update- I am in love with their food. Everything I have tried is amazing! Please support local business and try this place. You will not be disappointed. Great food, good prices, super friendly staff. I had the burger and I really enjoyed it. My husband had the really hot wings (he is a true spicy foods lover) and he was able to finish the 6 wings. The employee told him that they do challenges on Fridays for the wings. I have a feeling my husband will be going to one very soon. The only negative- just like the other reviewer said, they also forgot our chili. :(.

Amazing tacos special on fridays!!! My husband got the chilli burger and he said was awesome too. What I really love about this place is that it is family owned and run and they are one of the nicest people who I have met that run a food biz. Having a party this weekend and calling for catering :-)

Great selection, super good food, especially the sauces. The Hawaiian pizza was fantastic. Best of all was the service. Sam came out, introduced himself with a smile, and offered us a few samples while we waited. Can't wait to come back and try other things.

Sam's...it's time for your review update! Three months into our relationship and my family continues to work our way through their ever-changing menu. Lemme give you a few highlights... Tandoori Chicken. On a pita. On a pizza. In a taco shell...no, not just any taco shell. It's like the best chalupa shell you've ever had but sooo much better. I'll be honest here. The words 'tandoori chicken' scared me at first. I'm picky. I don't like new things. Except that's all a lie because every time I try something new at Sam's, I like it. Basically, tandoori chicken is well-seasoned chicken breast chunks. It's a little spicy. It's not "burn-your-face-off-spicy", but rather, "I-like-my-taste-buds-to-get-a-workout-spicy". The chicken breast chunks are fabulous and fresh! They serve it with a homemade sauce that I've tasted. It's good, but I am not a huge fan of dairy, so I get that on the side. The seasoning is not like something that I've ever had before...and that's a good thing. It makes the chicken a bright orange color. I thought it was weird until I tasted it. Now, it's one of my new favorite foods. Speaking of favorite foods, have you tried paratha? I did a couple weeks ago for the first time (under duress) and now I can't get enough! This is a homemade gluten-free bread, like a flatbread made with wheat flour. I loved it plain!!! I even liked it with sour cream and, as I mentioned, I'm not a dairy fan. Filled with tandoori chicken, it's waaaay too filling, but flavorful. I really like the flavors in the onion paratha best (so far). Again, another thing that I never would have tried back in the day, but Sam, Rachel, Nick and the whole crew have yet to steer me wrong. BBQ Saturday. It's a great day to eat at Sam's! Try the ribs with the homemade sauce. Talk about finger lickin' good!!! I still have the BBQ beef sandwich on my list of things to try. Maybe next weekend? We've fallen head over heals for their hand packed burgers, the Bari Italian beef sandwiches and their gyros fresh off the spit. The fried taco is sooo bad, yet sooo good in all the right ways! And when given a choice between their fresh cut fries and their beer nuggets (made from fresh pizza dough), we don't usually choose and we eat both. Shhh, don't tell. So they've added another table and a few more chairs which is good especially for the regulars. I'm a proud regular. Us regulars like to stand around and chat like we're at Cheers...without the beer...and the bartenders...and we like to share our opinions on our favorite foods with the newbies who've wandered in. Don't worry, they won't be newbies for long. Thus, the reason for more seating. Almost every time that I stop in, I see someone I've seen there before and I usually meet someone new who wants to try what Sam's has to offer. I genuinely love coming in here! Don't get me wrong...it's really nothing to look at when it comes to decor. I know that I come back time and again for the tasty food, the great company and the exceptional service. It's a true hometown eatery that's growing every day. I wouldn't be surprised if they expanded to offer a comfortable dine-in experience for their growing number of clientele one of these days. Stop in and try something new. You'll be glad you did.

Having seen a number of Yelp reviews with outstanding feedback of Sam's Grill & Pizza, I decided to take the risk and make the journey out from my office to Bartlett to pick up some food here on my lunch break. In looking over their options, I saw they had a Chicago style hot dog and knew I had to give this place a try. They have a fairly diverse menu with lots of different kinds of burgers, hot dogs, alongside pizza, wings and other common to these kinds of establishment menu items like Gyros and Italian beef sandwiches. Sam's is located in a small heavily deserted strip mall off of Prospect avenue in Bartlett. When you walk in there's a long counter, a cooler with various types of beverages to your right. And a big menu board on the wall to your left. There's a few tables and a counter if you were to eat in the restaurant itself. A while after stopping in (more on this later) I was ready to leave with the food ordered for myself and my co-workers. On to the review of the food itself. The hot dog I received came on a Chicago-style poppy seed bun. The bun didn't seem to be steamed, but was soft and showed no signs of dryness. There was a thinly sliced pickle on top of the dog, this pickle slice was a bit more sour than I would like, but certainly didn't taint the flavor of the hot dog. There were two long sport peppers perfectly placed on top so that sport pepper could be had in every bite. The peppers were a good balance of being not too hot and providing the right amount of flavor. The tomato on this hot dog was a bit of a downer, it was slightly soggy and didn't cover the entire length of the hot dog. The big problem with this hot dog was the relish, it wasn't the brand, it was the amount. There was around 2 dogs worth of relish on this hot dog. As a result the relish flavor was the dominant taste here. It overpowered both the mustard and what onion was on the hot dog. As for the sausage itself, it was a skinless dog, it was properly steamed and prepared. There was some celery salt on the dog, but its flavor was again, overpowered by the excessive relish. Overall, this wasn't a bad hot dog, but it was definitely a bit unbalanced. The final subject to note on Sam's is the time it took for the order to be ready, Between myself and my co-workers there were two burgers, a hot dog, and fries for the two burgers that needed to be made. This took around a half hour from when I placed the phone call to when the food was ready a ways after I arrived. Overall I liked the food and might be back, but for the investment of time it took for my food to be ready I wouldn't say this is quite a five star establishment. I give Sam's Grill & Pizza four stars. My opinion on this establishment can best be summed up in the following rhyme. Good, but not great and be prepared to wait.

Ordered a chicken tandoori pizza five minutes before closing time. Thought it would be rushed and probably come out tasting bad, whoa was I wrong!! We decided to try the pizza due to all the positive reviews and we were not disappointed!! First impression was that this place was stoner heaven, I mean truly the variety of munchies was spectacular. I honestly didn't expect the pizza to be that good but it was amazing. The only sad part is that they didn't deliver.

This small place was absolutely phenomenal. My mouth was watering based on all the incredible reviews and when I entered the restaurant I think I drooled...! Portillo's just lost my business. The cheeseburgers are made fresh and nothing is frozen. Fresh cut fries are always delicious. They also have Indian Tandoor Chicken, which I am dying to try. Also, they have homemade kulfi (an Indian ice cream) that I cannot wait to get this summer. You can really taste the love that the family puts into the food and the passion for great food and good prices. This small spot isn't even comparable to any other place locally. We will definitely be telling everyone about this Bartlett gem and ordering over and over again. We are considering using them for the Indian catering (they have veg and non-veg items)....GET HERE TODAY. You will not regret it.

Sam's Grill & Pizza is a hole-in-the-wall place in Bartlett that sells bar food. Really good bar food. I took a lunch group from work over there to try it out. The menu is written in chalk on a giant chalkboard, ordered by a giant grid that's about 10 cells tall by 5 cells wide. It's not the most readable menu out there, so I scanned the paper menu instead. I ended up getting a Gyro Burger with fries and a drink. I loved the fries... freshly deep fried russets with a good coating of salt. Not greasy at all! The burger itself was excellent. It consisted of a soft bun around a beef patty, shaved lamb (!), lightly grilled onion, tomato and tzatziki sauce. I liked every bit of it. Really, what tips this from 4.5 stars to 5 is Sam, who clearly has a passion for good food, chatting up the customers, and chicken wings served with ghost chili-enhanced hot sauce. (He kindly provided a sample: Yowsa-hot, but very good. Same deal with the mango habañero!) So the next time I'm here, I'll be getting the wings. Consider ordering in advance, since everything is made fresh, and we ended up standing around for 30 minutes while everyone's food finished. But trust me; it's worth the wait.

I am a foodie...I rarely write reviews but this place deserves one!!! I went for lunch today after reading many reviews about this place...they exceeded my expectations...in both service and taste. This is a family owned business...Owners are so friendly and after talking with them for few minutes...I can tell they are very passionate about their food and quality.. 1) Friench fries with their secret sauce - they are so crispy and goes good with the sauce....these fries are best in town..not exaggerating... 2) Lemon Pepper wings - wowwwwwwwwww...no words to explain and their garlic sauce along with it...never tasted so good anywhere else till now. 3) Tandoor panner on pita - awesome ..paneer is so fresh, tasty and done with right mix of spices. cant wait to try everything on menu!!!! My only advice to owners...please patent all your secret sauces :)

Ordered the Tandoor Chicken Pizza, lemon pepper chicken wings, and chicken nuggets. While we waited Sam brought us potatoes swirl on a stick, French fries & BBQ Sauce, and some marinated chicken. Everything was excellent and very friendly. We will be back

It's been a while since I've been able to come in again, but I finally got a chance last night. As always, Sam was happy to see me! Noticed a few new things since the New Year. Sam put up an abbreviated menu of some of his more popular Indian dishes (he's always made them, just never advertised them). I got my regular Royal Burger with Jalapeno added (you gotta try this--it's amazing!). As always, it was delicious. I also noticed that he had a 2pc chicken tandoori paratha on his new Indian menu. I figured what the hell, and went ahead and ordered it. I've never had paratha before, but this was INCREDIBLE. Sam was very excited to describe it to me, and from what I gathered, it's essentially a pita that is cooked with egg batter. It made it very flaky and flavorful--honestly similar to an egg-roll type of flavor and texture. Mixed with the already amazing tandoori chicken, it was phenomenal. Keeping with tradition, the portion size was also very generous for the price. Sam also let me sample his new Hawaiian style spicy pineapple sauce. I haven't decided what this is going to be best on, but I think it's my favorite sauce of his so far. 5/5 as always. If you're not eating here yet, you're making a mistake!

Just tried Sam's on a recommendation. Really good! Tandoori chicken pita was amazing. Like something you would get in downtown Chicago. This little place really has it going on! Friendly owners too.
