This place really surprised and delighted me. We were visiting friends in Stanley, where my parents used to work for river running companies, and a friend suggested we go to The Redd. I got the catfish sandwich and split pea slaw. I was in heaven. The slaw was perfectly balanced in flavor and immensely fresh. The catfish: just as much. Also, the service was great! The waitress chatted with us and it didn't feel forced, just good old fashioned hospitality. Even if I was a little tipsy coming from the bar across the street. Which I may or may not have been. Another thing worthy of mention: they make and sell REAL MARSHMALLOWS, like, marshmallows made with ACTUAL marshmallow root. I regret not trying any. I really should have. The decor is eclectic and sweet (none of the glasses or plates match and napkins are classic cowboy paisley handkerchiefs), and the outdoor seating looked amazing as well. You can tell the people who work there really love it. It's got a great atmosphere.

This cute little place in Stanley ID is worth a check out if you are in the area. The menu changes regularly and is written on a chalk board. The staff was super friendly and make the meal even that more enjoyable.

We visited The Redd with our teenaged sons the night before a rafting trip. Sat outside on a comfortable night. First of all, consider the setting. This isn't Paris. This is a western outpost and we were glad to have dinner prepared by a trained chef. Go with the flow. I had the pork stew and it was delicious. One of our party had the fried catfish sandwich. It was all delicious. Save room for the homemade pie if available!

We came here for dinner. It was a pleasant evening and we were able to sit outside. There were five of us and we all liked our meals. There were enough choices for everyone to be happy. The coffee was superb.

Fabulous dinner on the night before we started a rafting trip. The entrees were delicious and filling. I especially enjoyed my chicken and my younger son love his pasta. The steaks were also fabulous. Dessert is not to be missed! And the potato bread is out of this world. A great spot to visit while in Stanley. Easily walkable from anywhere in town.

A former Stanley home transformed into an amazing restaurant. We shared the pan seared Sockeye Salmon with mushroom brute rouge, roasted potatoes and kale - the salmon was perfectly cooked and the mushroom sauce had just the right flavor. The potatoes and kale were delicious sides, and I generally don't like kale. A local in Sun Valley suggested we try The Redd and I'm glad we did.

I love the food here. Everything is fresh, local, and delicious! They have the best catfish sandwich I've ever had and great desserts. I had the pleasure of attending an amazing fixed-course New Year's Eve dinner there last year that knocked my socks off. The Redd is my favorite place to grab a bite in Stanley.

Amazing dinner experience. It is a cute small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We had incredible service and such a pleasant family experience. We all tried a different appetizer which were fabulous, especially the black bean soup. The entrees were large in size, and all very unique. It was a perfect dinner experience in this quaint town, and very reasonably priced. Would absolutely recommend.
