o Driving through cool little town on way to Canada: CHECK. o Huckleberry Beer: CHECK (Oh yeah!) o Yummy burger and fries: CHECK This might be a first for me in my storied Yelp history: I'm Yelping the place while I'm eating, drinking, & experiencing the place (yes, this place has wifi). So, it's huckleberry season!! (My hands were purple-ed & I gorged on some while hiking yesterday) So, while driving up to Canada, I made a pitstop in Sandpoint, ID---I'd always wanted to stop in this cool looking town. And here at Mickduff's I saw: "huckleberry blonde" So the beverage choice was easy. The huckleberry blonde was actually pretty tasty. Some fruity beers toy with claiming the flavor of a fruit. This beer had the taste of huckleberry (and you could actually see some of the purple sedimentary goodness at the bottom of your glass). Yesterday I was high on huckleberries while hiking in the mountains. Today, I was able to partially relive that euphoria with this brew. The burger was tasty. I opted to not have the jalapeno. Most of the meal, I had to do my best to not look like a slob---ketchup, guacamole--was all over the place. I managed to be 007...Mr. Smooth. Tried out their Nitrogen Porter. Couldn't finish that bad boy since I had to hit the road and head into Cannuck land. All in all, this was an excellent last meal before leaving the US! Note: just paid for my meal & hit the "Post" button on this review. Crazy!

Porter Brownie with fudge sauce and vanilla ice cream (and whipped cream) gets them 5 stars alone. Heck, who goes to a brewery just for dessert? I do!

MickDuff's interior is one large rectangle with wooden poles supporting arches supporting the roof in a long line in front of the bar. There are three televisions for watching sports, seating for about 100 and the entire wall behind the bar is a giant chalk board. It feels like a neighborhood bar, but a very nice one. It pulls off the clean-cut, local brewpub feel just about as well as anywhere I've ever been. The menu is pretty standard brewpub fare. They seem to specialize in burgers, as you can choose from regular beef, a half pound of kobe beef, a six-ounce chicken breast, black bean burger or portabella mushroom cap. The choices of toppings are pretty standard. They also feature a garlic Gorgonzola cheese in many of their dishes. For example, typical, seasoned waffle fries are spruced up with the cheese's addition. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. All of their beers are very, very solid. I would gladly order every single one again. That being said, nothing really jumped up and screamed, "Drink me again!" But after a flight, I chose the Pale Ale as my favorite. Light - nearly translucent in color, thin foam around edge, surprisingly crisp and refreshing. Cross between a Pils like a Becks and a quality American light lager. I'd order it again, believe it or not. Blonde - hoppy for a blonde, low taste profile to begin, finishes slightly sweet. Yellow in color, thin head, below average but probably good on a hot day. I'd go for the light over it, though. Scratch that, it's better than the light. Further tastings bring a fuller, richer, sweet taste to bear from the beginning. Wheat - served with an orange instead of a lemon, which I like. Low flavor profile. Nice finish. Strong hints of clove and banana near the end. Smooth and very quaffable. Pale - Very solid. Well balanced. Smooth all the way through with just enough hops to give it a punch. Slight bitter taste lingers after. Very well done. Irish Amber - Fairly average. Strong hop aftertaste. Not too sweet up front. Solid but not outstanding. IPA - Almost too much up front bitterness, but not quite. People who love hops will like this beer. It doesn't quite have the full complexity/floral notes that I enjoy in a massively hopped IPA, but it's close. I've definitely had worse. And the lingering hop taste isn't too bad. The service was nice and friendly. Promptly served and left alone while I cruised the internet. No hurry to get out.

Fantastic food, and exceptionally friendly staff. The soup is my favorite thing I've had so far, good burgers as well. Only drawback is that outdoor seating is limited, but I like the indoor pub atmosphere better anyway.

My mom and I drove to sandpoint from Spokane for the day. We wanted to have lunch and I thought yelp would get us a great restaurant. I thought wrong! The service here was less than great. We seat ourselves which is fair enough, but once seated we sat for a good 10 minutes before being helped. Yelpers raved about the cheese soup, which I ordered. I've had better and it was luke warm. I asked to sample a couple beers and again waited for too long. As I waited I saw our server greet and bring new guests drinks prior to bringing me mine. My mom doesn't yelp, but when I asked how many stars I should give, she responded with 2. I have to agree with my mom!

Solid brewpub. Real solid. Average bar food. Nothing too mind bending or overwhelming, but your normal cast of favorites. Fish and chips. Salads. Chicken strips. Burgers and steaks are cooked very conservatively, so order medium-rare if you want medium, raw if you want rare. Great micro-brews. Try the Huckleberry Blonde for a local/unique brew that comes out looking like a cross between a beer and a frothy pint of jello. The (non-alcoholic) Root Beer is also very refreshing in float form or straight-up. Biggest draw to Mickduffs? Tuesday night Trivia night! I'm not talking fancy electronic scoring/answer pads either. Pen and paper. Seven rounds of gut wrenching, brain wracking, trivia madness. Free beer bonus questions, and pride points for the winner. Come early on trivia night. The seats fill up fast!

"The beer arrives. 9 samplers to quench my thirst. Nine delicious, small cups of libation set out on the wood table before me. My spirits are high but that might be due to the fact I am not near the pile of wood, cement, and insects that make up my fathers house. Am I drinking to celebrate? Not sure. Am I drinking because operating with a buzz is a lot easier then dealing with reality outright sober? No, not a chance. One thing is sure I'm liking the weather."

  • Rick C.

Sandpoint, Idaho: It's almost in the middle of town. Neat - old building, inside lots of wood accents. Good micro brews and above average Pub Food

Being beer aficionados, we always enjoy trying out a local brewery. Mickduffs did not disappoint. We tried the beer sampler, which was a tasting of 9 of their own beers. They were all delicious, especially the two ipas and the Irish red was surprisingly good. We ordered a burger and a the blackened chicken pita sandwich, along with the fries and the beer cheese soup, which didn't sound very good but came recommended. Everything was very good, nothing was disappointing. We sat at the bar and got very good service. If we lived in the area we would come back often.

We visited on a recent trip to Sandpoint. Food was good, beer was good, and service good. After a bad experience the previous night at another local Restaurant it was a great place to stumble upon. It was also kid friendly and though they were busy we did not feel rushed at all. No complaints about food from anyone at the table. I would certainly visit again.

I was really looking forward to this place based upon the reviews. My son and I went for trivia night. We arrived about 30 minutes early, and could not get a table. People were camped. We ended up sitting at one of the two tables outside. The waitress was not the most friendly person. And service was incredibly poor. It took exactly 45 minutes from ordering until our food was served. Waitress said that's the way it is on trivia night, which I thought was pretty lame. If that's the way it is on trivia night, the owner should get some extra staff for trivia night. If I had known that's the way it is on trivia night, I wouldn't have gone!

I have been coming here the past 3 years and never had a bad experience. Quality food, beer, and service. Don't leave without trying the huckleberry blonde, it's one of a kind.

Awesome place to chow down after a long day doing outdoor activities. Friendly energetic staff, great local beer selection. Get the IPA.

I recently had lunch at MickDuff's the other day and unfortunately was not able to sample any of their brews as I was on business. However that said, the food was very good, the waitress I had was very friendly and took great care of me, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. As a homebrewer myself it was great to talk to Mick and learn a bit about how he got his brewery going. I really appreciate it when an owner of a busienss will take a few minutes out of their day to share about their business. I will be back for sure and since this is a place for families I will no problem taking my two kids there too. Thanks and keep up the great work, Aaron from Spokane

Great beer, good food-- you can't go wrong if you are in Sandpoint and looking for a pub. The service was friendly, the vibe was relaxed. Family friendly.

  • Anya D.

I loved this placed! Great service good beer and food. I got fish and chips with gorgonzola fries! Did not expect much since I was so far from the coast but it was surprizingly amazing! My beer was great too!

  • Fat M.

I've been here a few times, each time I return I think it can't be as bad as the last. The basic theme has been grumpy servers, extremely long waits and overpriced mediocre food. This last time, my server looked suicidal. She was slow and never smiled, though we tried to joke with her. The burgers are overpriced. $15 and $18 burgers? Are you kidding me? The burgers were just ok. Way too expensive for what we got. And the decor really needs an upgrade. It's stuck in the 80s.

    (1)
  • Barbara R.

Gorgonzola cheese fries. Yum. Huckleberry beer. Yum. Yorkshire Red. Yum. Chocolate beer. Not so much. Service fast friendly and efficient.

  • Bryce K.

A great little local brew-pub. Their beers are good, not mind-blowing, but some very solid brews. The service is friendly and usually prompt and the food is your typical bar-fare but well prepared and consistently good. If you're visiting Sandpoint and want to go where the locals go (for a good reason), this is a must stop.

My husband and I visited MickDuff's about two o'clock on a weekday for lunch. It was our first visit to Sandpoint from Seattle and we were looking forward to checking out the local pub. We were greatly disappointed in the service. There were many servers working (5-6), but it was difficult to distingush who worked there at first as they did not have any designated clothing. All were wearing various forms of casual clothing. A shirt in the same color for all servers with the restaurant name or logo would look more professional. After ordering, we waited 30 - 40 minutes for our food. During that time we had time to observe what was going on. We spotted two servers drinking from mugs behind the bar. Our waitress was not friendly, appeared totally disinterested, and sort of tossed our drinks and food on the table. My husband described her as surly. I had the Hawaiian burger which was dry (a little mayo would have helped) and too much bread for the burger. The fries were cold. I requested new hot fries and it took 15 minutes for them to come. The hot fries were good. My husband had the fish and chips which rated in the fine category. He also had a beer which he enjoyed. Maybe the secret is sticking to beer. We did not feel like a valued patrons at MickDuff's and would not go back due to the lackluster service, long wait for the food, and the mediocre food.

Great root beer! Good cheesy soup but arrived lukewarm! Delicious portabello sandwich, bun and fries cold. Service o.k.

  • Brian M.

Place is cool, menu is great and food/beer is good. This can be enough for many. I really appreciate a place where the passion of the owners shows through the employees, and that was not evident here. It was lunch, but I really felt that my server could care less if I was here or not. Tried to dig a little for advice, and he was not interested. Was definitely not me along, as another person sat at then bar and received the same level of service. Too bad, as this is a place with the potential to be something special.

YUMMO! FOOD AND BEER ARE GREAT! I recommend Mickduff's for EVERYONE!!!

  • Breylan D.

This is a great little brew pub! Coming from Portland, I have some pretty high expectations for both food and microbrews and I would have to say I wasn't disappointed at all. We came in during a busy afternoon, were sat pretty promptly, and offered beer and food menus. Our server was polite and happy to recommend the sandwich of the day, which was some kind of chicken burger with grilled peppers on it - it was delicious! We also tried the huckleberry blonde ale and a few others, all of which I was impressed with. I'm sure we will be back on our next trip to Sandpoint.

Pros:great beer selection, good atmoshpere, great service. Cons: small portion sizes for food, stale fries, poor presentation, expensive.

  • Coleman Q.

It's good. The apps were good. The atmosphere was on par. The Idaho potato fries were very good. Fry sauces was boss. The beer was fantastic. Sadly, the burgers were not on par with the joint. Tasted like freezer burgers. Come here if you're looking for good beer and bar food. I'll be back for the beer. Hopefully next time this Irish bar will be playing some Irish tunes

    (3)
  • TJ J.

Ari was our server - friendly and engaging in conversation. They offer a lot of beers and they have a lot of specials on the menu as they have. Irish flare with the food. One thing I didn't get a chance to try was the waffle cut potatoes with garlic, Gouda cheese, green onions and sour cream. Is had the Kobe beef burger wrapped in lettuce with sautéed onions and Gouda cheese. It was very tender and tasty as the burger was cooked medium. It did need a bit of salt and pepper. I had a side salad with my burger.

Genuine good brew, and good bar food. Great downtown spot for day or night. Nice stop when visiting sandpoint.

Darn fine Reuben sandwich. A nice selection of very fine ales Friendly service. The veggie potstickers were fantastic. Reasonable selections for veggie/pescatarian diners. So long as pub grub is what you're looking for. We are a mixed family. I'd recommend.

  • Yelena M.

Great restaurant in downtown Sandpoint. They have wonderful beer which we did a taster of and I loved their burger and French fries. I know we are in Idaho but those frites were so delicious! We sat at the bar and service was attentive and fast.

This place is the best. Every damn Sunday. Definitely upscale pub style grub. Loving it.

  • Scott C.

This place rocks. This is what a brew company should be. Dog friendly, huge tap wall, and great value on food. Other breweries I have been to should take note.

  • Kim R.

We tend towards eikharts but go here to switch it up. More spacious, crayons for kids, natural sunlight. Hummus is OK. Gorgonzola fries are ridiculous, plan to share them. Basic pub food, limited outside seating. Good vegetarian choices.

    (4)
  • Cody E.

Good service. Not on top of you but there when you needed her to be. The French Dip was okay ... but the breading was a little dry. The house root beer was great - perfect for a homemade root beer. Downside of the meal was the french fries - they were tough to eat like they had been cooked twice. Good flavor, but terrible to eat.

Best restaurant in Sandpoint. I have been here many times. The quality is absolutely excellent. From the food to the beer you can't go wrong and its actually very family friendly. Excellent service. Prices are a bit high but still a good value given the top notch quality. By the way spring for the beer cheese soup it is wonderful.

My husband and I LOVE Mickduffs!! Great beer and delicious food. We have had close to everything on the menu and are never disappointed. I tried the new pork burger and absolutely loved it! We recommend the Lake Paddler and the NoHo for any beer lovers out there but you really can't go wrong! Great customer service and friendly staff, this is a regular spot for us when we want a night out at a great place

  • Brad H.

Well this makes two attempts to like this place. Our first visit two years ago did not go well. We waited at the door for over 10 min, with another couple behind us, with servers and other staff walking passed us. We were never acknowledged, never told "it will be a few minutes"...nothing. We were finally seated and it took quite a while to order and get our food. The food was OK, but after the experience to this point, not worth the wait. The owner read my review and kindly apologized, he sent us a free meal coupon for my wife and I. Well, we went to Sandpoint this weekend hoping to be able to redeem our free lunch. When we got to the door we noticed they had expanded their seating so we were hopeful. We were greeted fairly quickly, but were promptly told, "Our kitchen is backed up. I can seat you, but it will be an hour before you get your food." Needless to say, we've given up.

  • Eric I.

For an Irish pub, it was a little light on the Irish, but the food was pretty good. I had the Cubano, which was tasty, & my wife had the Kobe beef burger, but it was the fresh cut French fries that were the tastiest. The beer was ok, but I appreciated that they actually had Snakebite on the menu and made it with Spire cider. Yum!

    (4)
  • Brittany P.

Didn't try any beer but this looks like a great place for beer lovers. Was making a quick stop through Sandpoint and ordered something that I could eat quickly. I got their chicken Caesar salad which was very good! A little on the pricey side for a salad but the portion was pretty generous - I wasn't able to finish the salad. Service is friendly too

    (4)
  • K S.

This is the restaurant. If you want the brewery only, it's around the corner at 220 Cedar. Cold beer on a hot day, just what we needed.

Excellent attention from Austin. Food came fast, was exactly what the family needed. Totally accommodated my sons no-gluten no-dairy needs.

  • Jordon B.

Had dinner here after trying to go to a BBQ Place that had apparently closed VERY recently. Sat ourselves, and fairly quickly greeted by our server. Got a decent inexpensive wine and ordered dinner. Waited about 30 minutes for food but our waiter checked on us periodically. Food arrived and 3 of 4 had the very tasty Chicken Ciabatta Sandwich, one with Beer Cheese Soup-VERY good, Gorgozola fries-overrated and plain fries- very good. Last meal was Gorg. steak sandwich with GREAT onion rings. Overall a very good meal with good service. We'd return!!

  • Nancy L.

Decided to visit based on Yelp reviews. Tried my usual sampler. Decent. Love the NoHo IPA! Lake Paddler, Strom IPA, Knot Tree Porter good. Cheese soup yummy. Daily salad amazing. Gorgonzola cheese fries okay. I will be back. New favorite place in Sandpoint.

    (4)
  • Sabrina J.

I'm here on a Sunday night watching the last football game and really enjoying it here. It's not packed so we have an attentive serve who is super friendly and funny, gave great recommendations. They brew their own beers so get the sampler because its awesome. Salads are big and fresh ( I also had the Gorgonzola cheese fries which were delish)

    (5)
  • Angelica N.

This Irish Pub style bar is a nice addition to downtown Sandpoint! I didn't try any of the food although I regretted it after. Beer was good, they had a huge selection and the bartenders were friendly. I sat outside in their small patio area which faces the street and caught the sights on 1st Ave.

5-star beer menu. 3-star food. Way too much salt in everything we've tried and we love salt. Can't taste other flavors because of it. Cheese soup is fab. Salads are fresh and good.

This is one of the best restaurants in the world!!!! Every single dish seems to be made with pride. Fresh ingredients and the coby beef burger is to die for (ask for pink)!!! Gorganzola cheese fries are the perfect appetizer with a fresh beer. They brew their own beer and make a pale ale that is better than ANYWHERE ELSE THAT I CAN FIND!!!! It is not filtered like regular beer so probably full of calories and other good stuffs... and really worth it. To me it tastes like candy! Sandpoint does not offer much to do during the night but I found myself going to their trivia night every Tuesday. They become packed fast so I recommend showing up early if you want to participate. I have been trying to find a pale ale as good as theirs ever since I moved away. Its impossible!!!! They have the best!! If you are in the Sandpoint area or simply passing through I think that you are missing out if you do not stop here. Obviously a lot of love goes into what they do and they do it so very well. Oops!!! I almost forgot to mention the organic IPA!!! The waiters can ignore you sometimes... just be blunt? Especially during Trivia night you cannot except to be there for service, its more for the locals . . ..

Who knew the Irish make excellent ahi tuna, they do...I had the Ahi appitizer, my son grilled cheese and my husband a chicken ciabitta. Food especially the ahi was great, service was fast and friendly. Highly recommended!

  • Anniessa S.

We met friends here for dinner. It was a great spot to meet up - family friendly, good pub fare, and a server who knew his brews. I had a burger with chips. My son had a French dip that seemed rather uninspired. We ate all up and were pleasantly full so there's nothing to complain about, eh?

    (4)
  • Rachel G.

Dave at the tasting room was great! My mom & I enjoyed his company and a few brews! It was a great, casual night with friendly conversation. He convinced us we needed the stainless steel glasses to match our growlers and we are so excited to take them home to WA! Both experiences with MickDuff's have been wonderful! Can't wait to visit again next time we're in sandpoint!

  • Wes C.

Good food, great beer, amazing staff! I left my phone after a meal at a table and they held it behind the bar until I came back for it later that day. After retrieving the phone and a beer or two I went on my way back home 50 miles south. The next day I figured out that I had left my credit card there, so after a phone call to them later they mailed it to me and saved me 100 miles of drive time!!!

Rustic and fun atmosphere, Mick Duff's has a great beer menu. All beers are theirs, try the Lake Paddler pale ale - terrific. Food is solid pub grub.

What is with this area and IPA's? Bitter awful stuff and they say things like "yeah, you get used to it" like somehow you're a real beer drinker if you can plow through the bad taste. Cold enough, sure, but geez! Everything in this place is an IPA or IPA-ish so get ready to have your taste buds assaulted. Your only recourse is a wheat beer. A WHEAT beer? Really? God, I miss the quality local breweries, SamAdams, a Corona, anything but a freakin IPA. One good thing: The bonus is their beer comes with that awful lingering headache and after-taste (the next day) only an IPA can give. I could only give one star but it deserves 2-yuks.

  • Lorrin C.

We stopped in for a sampler of eight beers and an order of fish and chips. Service was great. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender during our visit. My favorite turned out to be the peach beer. It left a good taste in my mouth for someone who prefers wheat beer though I am acquiring a taste for stout. It's a fun place to go but I leave for home tomorrow.

We went to see the World Cup. Excellent viewing. The Veggie Potstickers in curry sauce were just amazing. had seconds on that one.

  • Matthew C.

We came here based on other reviews. The beer was just "ok" nothing to write home about, then the food, chicken strip and Irish nachos; again nothing to write home about. For bar I was surprised they didn't offer the chicken strips buffalo style and the nachos weren't that great. The bar itself inside was cozy and I imagine this would be a fun place to hang out during a big game or with a group of friends,

Sandpoint is lucky to have a great little place like this.... Staff is wonderful, knowledgeable, laid back and more than helpful. They have great early bird or happy hour specials. Had a hand full of appetizers that were just amazing. Gorganzola fries, calamari.. the list goes on. Everything fresh, hot and seasoned well. Beer selection for snobby IPA fans as myself is VERY good. I will be back.

    (4)
  • Sandpoint E.

OMG that beer and cheddar soup and the Irish burger just can not be beat. The servers are all very nice here, and we just think the burgers are the best in town. The salads leave a slight bit to be desired for the cost, but this is IT in Sandpoint for a beer and burger.

    (4)
  • Cooper J.

Food was good. Had a burger and it was delicious. I had a beer while I was there which was the Belgian Rye Sour. It wasn't too sour like I like but the palate didn't mind it. I recommend the Saison it tasted great. Took a little while to get our food but it was somewhat busy. We ate around 2 and thought the service could have been a little quicker but the waitress was nice. Local Brewery with a good vibe.

MickDuff's was recommended to us by the unbelievable great staff at Schweitzer Mtn. I'm glad they did because it was just what we wanted after a day of skiing. I'd go back to MickDuff's when I'm in Sandpoint again, but we did have a few kinks the night we went. Our server was also acting as bartender, so service was a little haphazard. The server was apologetic, but we did wait a while before anyone came by and had to flag down a different server to put our food order in. Not the end of the world, but it seemed like one of the dedicated servers could have handled our table with their others. We opted for the beer flight. Lot's of tastes for a great price! I wasn't at all wild about their lagers, but once we got into the darker and more bitter stuff (stouts, porters, IPAs) the tasting got better. I really enjoyed their seasonal stoat stout. We had had a large lunch on the Mtn. so we decided to split some apps and their salad special. We got the teriyaki wings, fries (since we were in Idaho, after all), and the Greek salad. It was all good, nothing mindblowing, but it was tasty and we finished every bit of it. Regretfully, we didn't have room for dessert, but the homemade root beer float sounded great.

We went to their new tasting room and had such a fun time tasting 8 beers. The service was very friendly and they provided detailed info and stories behind their beers. Great for big groups. Free popcorn!

I came here with my daughter as a second choice because all 3 Thai restaurants in Sandpoint are closed between 2 and 5 pm. We ordered the Ahi Tuna Appetizer- AMAZING. We also ordered the Ceasar salad and Thai Chicken salad (very dissappointing- especially for $12-$14 each!) lettuce was less than fresh, dressing was mediocre at best. We try to eat healthy so avoided the higher calorie menu items. I only ate half the salad because it just wasn't very good. However, when I decide to indulge in a burger, I will come back to try the beer, burgers and fries.

Hello there, my fellow Yelpers! I had a great time this past weekend in the great town of Sandpoint, Idaho where there are great eats as well as good beer. In the far city of Sandpoint we have two, count them, two micros breweries and yes, I know that isn't impressive when we have 20 in the greater Bend area, but we all have to start somewhere. My brother and I were on our annual trek to close his cabin for the winter which takes a whole two hours tops and of course I just hangout as he does all the work - I mean enjoy the great outdoors while he does all the work (somehow that doesn't make me sound any better!). My brother and his family have had a cabin for the past ten years at Bottle Bay on Lake Pend Oreille with a view of Sandpoint and Schweitzer Ski Resort in the distance. One of the things we both look forward to this time of the year is college football of course and the cabin closing which always leads us to MickDuffs Brewing Company. You might be thinking Sandpoint? MickDuffs? This can't be good! Well you would be wrong, although it is true it is a small town, Sandpoint has big town eats and Bend quality beer. The first thing I do when entering MickDuffs is find a seat in front of the big screen for the game, order the Tipsy Toehead Blond Ale for starters, then the Organic IPA which is now called "The North Idaho Pale Ale (N.I.P.A.), then I head straight for the beer cheese soup. Oh yeah! Now that's the kind! The sandwiches, hamburgers and the gorgonzola cheese fries are the best! Thank You MickDuff's Brewing Company for all the fantastic memories.

If you're a beer person and are in Sandpoint Idaho for some reason, go check out this joint. Great beer, great people (and pretty good pub food). I had their porter which was fantastic.

This is a review for the tasting room on Cedar, which didn't have much of a separate presence on Yelp so I thought I'd write it here. We stopped here while in town for a night and saw they were hosting a fundraiser for Water Keepers, an environmental advocacy group in town. They brewed a beer for the organization, which was very tasty. We came back to fill a growler and got the Strom Hammer IPA which was amazing! Great beer, great service and a nice environment.

Incredible craft brew that doesn't at ALL taste like it was brewed in someone's basement. Very delicious food, and a happy hour with nice discounts! The beer sampler is great and very generous for a newbie to their beer. Great atmosphere and location too.

This quirky little local watering hole instantly became my favorite microbrewery. So many great brews on tap and so good...but you can only get it there, it's not bottled. Staff and locals were super friendly and made visiting this gem all the more pleasurable. I loved the Brown Ale so much that I bought a $36 stainless steel growler and had it filled with that brew for safe transport back to Kalispell. No trip to the Idaho panhandle is complete without a visit to this brewery.

Great spot for food and drink in Sandpoint. I've been many times, basically whenever I'm passing through Sandpoint. Burgers are very good, handcut fries are great. I'm a sucker for huckleberry-anything when I'm in Northern Idaho or Northwest Montana so knocked back a few huckleberry blondes each time. I'll come back here any time I'm in Sandpoint.

We did not go on trivia night, and were seated right away and the service was fine. And the burgers were pretty good, but from all that I've been hearing about this place; I was expecting to be blown out of the water by the food.

After my previous review I was contacted by the owner and given a gift certificate to see if I would consider going back again. There's a bonus point for customer service right there. I've since gone back 3 more times and I think I must have hit them on an off day the first time or two I visited. The food is good. It's not mind-blowing or anything along those lines, but my last three visits have been consistently above average food. I especially enjoy the tri-tip dip with gorgonzola fries. I'm still not a huge fan of their beers, but they are all good. The one exception to this is that I had a pale ale on beer gas that was excellent! Based on my last few visits I can honestly say I'm a fan now and will definitely be eating there again on my next visit to Sandpoint.

Walked in to the sign at the hostess station saying "seat yourself". Found a table and sat down, started a beer order and then had hostess come tell us we needed to wait to be seated. There would be a wait as there were people ahead of us. When I said the sign said seat yourself she said she had just changed that and asked us to leave our table. So we left our table and went to Baxters on Cedar. MUCH better food anyway.

If I lived in Sandpoint, I would be a fixture here. As it is, I'm merely a part-time mascot. Beer: great micros on tap, all solidly crafted. The IPA's (yes they usually have TWO hop bombs on tap at once!) both pack ample hop-wallup. If you're not into craft brews, they have some lighter offerings that can probably please even the pussiest of pussies (you). Food: Very good! I would call it restraunt food, "pub food" or "bar food" is an insult. Gorgonzola is prominently featured in many items which is very appreciated by yours truly (come to think of it...a lot of Northern Idaho do that...why is this?) The Ahi is top notch, as is the steak, and the steak salad. Burgers come in multiple forms (black bean, beef, buffalo, etc), so there are multiple flavor combos to be had. This is a great place to unwind after a day on the lake/mountains. The only time I don't come here after an exhaustive hike are Sundays, they close a bit too early (I head to Eichardt's instead).

Well the first thing I am going to say is I have no idea what the food taste like because I came for the beer. I started with the Sampler tray which gives you a total of 30oz of beer for 12 dollars. I judged the beer using BJCP guidelines and found that most of the beers were well within industry standards. The beers were well balanced and enjoyable, without being overly-hopped like most Northwest breweries. This is the reason that this brewery has won several national awards for their beers. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the American Lager, which is a difficult style to pull off and still taste good, and I wished that it came in a can because this would be a great beer to take on the river. After making my way through the sampler and having the normal Citra beer on tap, I tried the Citra on cask and this is one not to miss. It's a one hop beer that showcases the flavor and aroma of this hop and would appease most hop-heads.

MickDuff's has a really great menu including the cheese soup (super yummy) and the Kobe Brewer's Burger is to die for! Their french fries are made fresh and they are oustanding. Think In N Out fries. They taste similar, so fresh! Sometimes the service isn't so great, it totally depends on who you get. I've had outstanding service and then days when I think we won't be back becuase it sucked so much. It's random but the food is good. It's a bit pricey too so we don't go as much and the owners really keep to themselves. They never acknowledge you, say thanks or check in. Ever. It would be nice if they were had more of presence in the restaurant and not just there making beer. Overall it's a wonderful addition to Sandpoint.

We stayed in town in late August and found this place for some beers and dinner at the bar. The food, staff, and fellow diners were great.

Ordered their Irish Redhead Amber ale.. it was OK. I preferred the other couple of beers my friends had (Toehead Blonde and IPA). The best part of this place was their tasty nachos (made with homemade chips!) and the fries. I think this place is a lot more entertaining and hoppin' on the weekends...it was pretty dead on a Tuesday night but still the busiest joint downtown. Worth checking out if you're in SP, though. I'd recommend this place for anyone looking for a decent beer and good pub food..

Came here yesterday after a day of spring skiing. :) The beer was good (we had the huckleberry beer and a sampler) and the food was pretty good, too. Heard rave reviews about their Gorgonzola fries via yelp so tried those out. They were just fries loaded with a gigantic pile of Gorgonzola crumbles. Good quality cheese and they definitely did not hold back on the cheese, but we were thinking it was a Gorgonzola cheese sauce or something. Either way, we would go back!

Amazing beer and food! Excellent service and a wide selection of excellent microbrews. Huckleberry Blonde Ale is a treat you can only get in Idaho!

I don't know how many times I've walked by Mickduff's over the years, glanced at the brewing vessels in the window, then peered into the main dining room, then went "Meh" and kept walking. This was compounded by the less than favorable things I'd heard things about their food and service from people I trust and respect. However, encouraged by the relatively high Yelpitude it has garnered I resolved to give it a shot on this visit and I'm certainly glad I did. The service: In three visits over the course of a week and a half, we had three different servers and they were all friendly, prompt, and didn't leave us hanging, even when our baby started fussing. (Added bonus for those with young 'uns: it's family-friendly). The food: We got two of our meals to go due to the aforementioned fussy baby, so it wasn't exactly hot off the grill by the time we got back to our place, but the burgers I had were prepared nicely and had plenty of tasty toppings. The cordon bleu burger was probably my favorite, although the portabello swiss burger gave it a run for its money. The gorgonzola fries are worth the extra money if you can eat them fresh out of the fryer, but they don't travel well. The beer: Surprisingly tasty! Maybe I was expecting something less than what I got, but I found their beer to be fresh and generally above average. Both of their IPAs, "regular" and organic options, had distinct, unique hop characters and plenty of body to make me happy. I went with the sampler on one visit, and in general their selections range from average to quite tasty. I can see myself happily bellied up to the bar here for a good afternoon session, watching sports on the tubes and quaffing some pints. Even though I've missed out on several years of experiencing Mickduff's, I'm happy to now add it to my Sandpoint rotation for future visits.

Possibly the BEST Reuben sandwich I have ever had!! And HUGE points for making it with corned beef...and not the "politically correct" pastrami. Moist, perfectly cooked, not messy. I'd been dreaming of the perfect Reuben for MONTHS before my son led me into MickDuff's. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The service was fast, friendly and the atmosphere was spot on for midday in the middle of the week.

Get the Ciabatta Chicken sandwich. It was amazing. The brewers burger was okay. I am a big fan of IPA beers, and the Strom Hammer IPA was a hit.

What a great place! The staff and locals were extremely friendly and engaging. My favorite beer was The Irish Redhead - great flavor. I also had a Caesar Toe (Tipsy Toehead Blond with Clamato) which was much better than any other variation I have tried.

My husband ate at this restaurant in June. There were 6 adults and 2 children in their party so an automatic gratuity of 18% was added to the check, which was not entirely surprising, but nonetheless, annoying.

I love coming to Mickduff's! I love the gorgonzola fries, beer cheese soup and the huge tortellini plate! The burgers are always good and the french dip sandwich is good. The homemade rootbeer is amazing, but the gluten free beer is like water. The atmosphere is great and I would come back any day if I were close.

Sandpoint, Idaho isn't what most people would consider a vacation hot-spot, but after visiting this summer, I've decided that it should be. The town itself is nestled in one of the most beautiful areas of the county I've been to, and local eateries like Mickduff's make staying there a joy. We stopped in here after reading the Yelp reviews. The boyfriend will go for pretty much anyplace that does their own brewing, and my sister and her husband were game as well, so we did lunch here on our first day in town. Best idea. I had the veggie burger, which was delicious and filling, and the accompanying garlic-gorgonzola waffle fries were killer. For drinks, I opted for the Huckleberry Blonde (a blend of their Tipsy Toehead Blonde Ale and local huckleberry puree) and Adam went for their Snakebite (a combo of a hard cider and their Knot Tree Porter). Both were delicious. On our second visit, we opted just to get a quick snack and some beer, so we went for a large order of the garlic-gorgonzola fries, which everyone loved. This time, I went for the Snakebite and the boyfriend opted for the Bogtrotter, an Irish red ale. Again, no disappointments. We will definitely be making this a regular spot to visit when we head to Idaho again to see the family. And big ups to Yelp's Android app for pointing us in their direction!

What a fun place to come for dinner. I liked the ambiance and atmosphere. I liked that it was busy and the service was friendly. The food was pretty good as well. Overall, a good place for dinner.

This was a welcome surprise.. an $8 sandwich full of bbq roast beef, bacon, carmelized onions on wheat toast with fries, and a homemade root beer! They also have a large selection of beers that I heard were good. This place was surprisingly gourmet for a brewery. They even had free WiFi (perfect for me to write this review!)

Stopped in for a very early dinner with my better half and our toddler and newborn. Partner in crime had the kobe steak sandwich and I had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich with a side of their famous beer cheese soup instead of fries. The toddler had grilled cheese; the newborn had nothing because babies don't eat solid food. The sandwich was predictably huge and very tasty, while the soup was much better than I expected (mostly because I had trouble imagining how beer and cheese could be heated and combined in a soup) and actually quite delicious. My husband seemed to enjoy his sandwich very much and the kid loved his grilled cheese and the very, very, very salty (but fresh and obviously hand-cut) fries that came with it. The service was outstanding and the ambience was casual and cozy. I'm not a sports fan and could do without the massive television screens everywhere, but hey, it's a pub. Watching sports with beer and ridiculously fattening food is what pubs are all about. This pub happens to be very kid-friendly, so that's a huge plus now that we're square parents and have to think about that kind of thing. MickDuff's is a good place to know about and I'm excited to go back and try some of their specialty brews someday. The food is good, the service is better, and it's fun to look at the beer-making setup they have going on while you wait. It's definitely worth a stop on a cold winter night.

The good - the food is incredible and the beer is great. From appetizer to dessert, finding something good is no problem. The bad - the service is awful. This is especially true during trivia on Tuesday nights. I can understand being slow on a busy night, but I cannot understand the servers spending more time standing behind the bar chatting with each other than actually serving. Our server tonight walked right past our table, looking at us and our empty glasses without stopping or saying a word, more than once. This is a common occurrence there, and while it hasn't yet kept me from returning, it has put more and more time in between visits.

Great trivia on Tuesday nights. Go early to get a table and make an evening of sipping on beer and answering trivia. The burgers are delicious, especially if you sub a chicken burger (the beef is a bit well done for my taste). Salads are good too. Don't miss the gorgonzola cheese fries...they will FILL you up!

For us happiness is definitely Mickduffs beer and cheese soup, gorgonzola garlic waffle fries to dip in it & a growler of red to go. Actually-you can't go wrong with the beer sampler, either :)
