I don't wanna be a dick, (although at this point it has become a part of my genetic code) but this place might just be the worst Mexican restaurant in which I have ever eaten. The service is fine and the people are attentive and friendly. The food just sucks. It has become a tradition for a big group of friends to meet here for dinner the Friday of Lumberjack Days before hitting the bars. We have been doing it for years... This past September I decided to forego the torture from the food of their homeland and order a burger... I was pretty terrible too. On the upside they serve up one hell of a bottled beer, although all they have to do is pop the top and plug the hole with a lime.

This place has really good mexican food. It is your pretty standard sit-down mexican restaurant, but the service is really good and the Camarones a la Diabla are TO DIE FOR. Literally. No, I really mean it would be worth dying to get some of these shrimps. Frankly, Orofino is blessed to have a Mexican restaurant of this caliber. I didn't appreciate it until I moved to Southern California. I have had Camarones a la Diabla at probably 10 places since Fiesta and none have been quite as good. If you're looking for a hearty meal in a nice, festive atmosphere, you can't go wrong here.

I like this sit down Mexican restaurant. The best part about it is the service, which is quite good. Otherwise, I thought that the food was typical Mexican food. However, after saying that, it's one of the best places to eat in Orofino. Expect to pay about $13pp, which includes a tip.

This is the best place to eat in town, for whatever that is worth. Portions are huge - the plates are the size of hubcaps! Service is decent, food ok, beer is good.

This is a pretty typical Mexican restaurant. The food was ok - not great - but in pretty large portions. The chips and salsa were pretty standard. The margaritas were also pretty standard from a mix, but fairly priced. Service was quite friendly and prompt. The restaurant itself seemed clean and bright. Prices were pretty typical, if not a little high for Mexican. Saying all that, however, this is probably the best place to eat in Orofino.

First I need to say it is Sunday in Orofino, ID. Suffice it to say that there are not many food choices in this small town. The hotel we are staying at gave us two choices for food and this was represented as the better of the two. For starters the chips were the thick heavy type and the salsa was mild. The salsa was very fresh tasting but wish it had just slightly more kick. I had the Chimichanga Combo and my wife had the Huevos Texanos. The chimi appeared to be on the smaller side but after digging in realized it was absolutely stuffed with chicken. Often times there is a lot of fluff in these. Not so much with this one. The rice and beans were average. My wife enjoyed her dish and was also impressed with how much meat was in it. She said she would order it again. The service was attentive and friendly. We only had water but it was being filled regularly without us noticing. As I said the rice and beans were meh and the prices here are reflective of being the only decent gig in town. If we were to stay in Orofino sometime in the future we would definitely drop in again.

Ive been here on two occasions with my wife. The first time i ordered just plain old enchildadas. They hit the spot. Second time, i took the recommendation of one of my fellow reviewers and tried the shrimp. Not my particular dish, but they were ok i guess. The prices are a little above my preference, but the quality of the service and the dish makes up for it. If youre wanting a good mexican meal and youre goin thru orofino at dinner time, this is a great option.

Greeted at the door...no waiting whatsoever. Carlos was our server and was absolutely wonderful, fully attentive, and cheerful as well. Food was very good, large portions...salsa was excellent! After leaving" dining on the edge" where service was non existent after more than 20 minutes, this was so wonderful and really hit the spot!

Nothing about my order was right! My drink was wrong, my order was wrong, I was done. Never again

Clean, small place with great service and pretty standard (but good) Mexican food. In a small town that doesn't have many dining options, we were happy to find a Mexican restaurant that served decent food with good portion sizes.

Bright, clean, and family friendly. Portions are HUGE. Hubs had chili Colorado, I had the Borrego - lamb shank. Both were fantastic. Salsa was a little on the mild side, but had a great fresh taste.

Went to find this restaurant and stopped a local for directions. Asked if they would eat here and was told their family eats there once a week. I can understand why. The service was most attentive, the portions were large and the food was fresh and tasty. The ambiance could have been less cafeteria but they have a full bar.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
