Dickey's BBQ is fine for what it is. I don't eat BBQ as often as I would like and I rarely eat at chains, but when my wife was out of town I decided to see what the mediocre yelp reviews were all about. I got online to look at a menu and was surprised to find that you can order and pay online, skip the line at the store, grab food and go. So, that's what I did. I wanted to taste as much as possible, so I ordered 2 meals that included to meats and two sides each. Meats were ribs, chopped pork, chicken and turkey. Sides were green beans, okra, onion rings pieces things and BBQ beans. I showed up when the order was to be ready and waiting. There is no real direction of where to go, stand, wait...so I hovered for a couple of minutes until the register gal wandered my way. I said I had the online order and they dropped the fried okra into the fryer. I hung out while they packed up the rest of my order and helped other customers in line. They give you their regular BBQ sauce in the bag and you go to their sauce station to load up on any other variations you might want. Okay, on to the food. Okra was still hot when I got home and was the best side of the four. Green beans were salty and watery. Fried onion pieces were okay, as we're the BBQ beans. The ribs had a slight chemically taste. The meat wasn't fall off the bone tender, but it wasn't tough either. Just couldn't get past that strange aftertaste. The chopped pork was tender and didn't have the chemical note, but did include quite a bit a fat. I know, that's how a lot of people like it. Still, there was a lot of fat. The two meats that I was prepared to be most underwhelmed by, the turkey and the chicken, were both moist and flavorful and not overly salty. Each meal comes with a soft roll, pickles and onion, so a slider sammy is there for the fixin'. Very nice. The meat portions were generous. I saved the turkey and chicken for lunch the following day. Most importantly I know what to expect from Dickey's. When I want some BBQ chicken and turkey, I know where to go.

I am ok w/the slower service. The meat is fresh. The food is really good. I love the variety of bbq sauce. The reason for the slower service is that this isn't a fast food place... I am very happy I don't have to go to Boise for a good and quick meal.

Have you ever invested money into a business only to have people immediately criticize your hard work? Yeah, that's what I feel people are doing to Dickey's. They may not have gotten stuff right in the beginning, but they're doing it right now. My wife and I have been there twice and both times we've gotten great food at a reasonable price and great service. Give it a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised that there's a good BBQ joint in Nampa.

I had the westerner (turkey and chicken) sandwich with 2 sides. It was delicious. They accidentally gave me onion tanglers instead of fried okra. They said just keep the onion tanglers and will bring you out some okra. So I slapped the onion tanglers on the sandwich with some extra hot and spicy bbq sauce. The bbq sauce is really good if you like spicy. I didnt have the free ice cream but I like that idea. Price is reasonable for the amount of food you get. Kinda odd for me to get turkey and chicken, I usually go for the pulled pork or brisket but I read mixed reviews. I'll definitely come back and give it a shot. Ive had better okra but it wasnt bad. I tried to order online but there wasn't an option I could find to pay cash upon arrival. Have to pay with a credit card. I normally pay with a card anyway but today I had some cash on me so I just ate there. The place is pretty clean and the decor is nice.

Very good BBQ. It is a little pricey for "Fast Food", but what isn't these days!

This was my first visit to the recently opened (2/2012) location. Many of the faces were familiar as I had seen them at the Overland Rd Location in Meridian, ID. I ask if they were owned by the same franchise owner and was told it was someone different. That being said, I ordered my usual, 2 Smokehouse Salads to go, meat kept separate and no dressing. One of the employee's recognized me and knew exactly what I wanted. She even made sure the dinner roll, which can be and was initially forgotten was included. My only complaint is the amount and the way the brisket was chopped. The meat was not weighed as they do in Meridian, and was roughly cubed rather than chopped and shredded as the other location and the portion seemed a bit smaller. The gentleman who prepared the meat was being trained in the Meridian location about 1-2 weeks prior to my visit so that may be why the difference in quantity and cut. Otherwise a good take out visit. This was a busy lunch time visit and I was in and out in less then 15 minutes.

Good food. HUGE portions. Good Service. Free Ice Cream. Definitely not a restaurant you wan to go to if you are trying to eat healthy. Probably not one healthy thing there. But for splurge days, its good BBQ.

Service is slow, meat is very dry and the bbq is horrible. Tried it once but never again.

I saw that this place had less than 4 stars and felt obligated to review it. I'm not sure what happened with these other reviewers visits..... but I have been to this location many many times and the food has always been juicy and fresh. The staff is very polite, the owners understand how to make dine in customers feel comfortable and the portions are always great. I have never once had a bad experience. If Jack J. would walk 10 feet from counter he would find unlimited sauce with togo containers.

Generally not very good BBQ. Service staff herky jerky. To eat it you really need sauce. No sauce provided. BBQ needs to be very good in a restaurant otherwise it is just not satisfying.

Very good BBQ. Get ready to wait in a line if you plan to eat there on a Sunday. They offer free kids meals with a purchase of an adults meal on Sunday's, so it's pretty popular! Their salads are delicious and their brisket is hard to beat. The customer service is always excellent and the free cup of soft serve ice cream is yummy. We will be back!

Like a fast-food restaurant, but with meat that you can identify! Dickey's isn't a gourmet place to take your date, but it offers very good food for the price and consistently has excellent service from knowledgeable employees that seem to have strong social skills and enjoy being there. Whatever their hiring practices, keep doing that! The ice cream at one location often under-refrigerated (which is safe but makes it a little runny), but it's free so I can hardly complain. - It would be great if basic nutrition info was easily available on the menu for decision-making. - The barbecue sauce, which you can buy separately, boasts of the clever recipe by the founders, but contains industrial (but safe) ingredients that were obviously not used by any small-town barbecue enthusiast. - Dessert availability is inconsistent across locations. - Because the shredded pork is already prepared, service for most meals is much faster than you expect at most "fast" food locations.

It's the little things that make places memorable for me... Things like coming in to a local franchise and the owner talking to your kids. During the course of that conversation, your child telling the owner that their birthday is coming up. That owner promising a free cookie to your child when we come in for her birthday. Coming in on that child's birthday and the owner, without being asked or reminded, brings that promised cookie to your child at your table. That experience struck me as unusual and it stood out to me. I always remember the kindness and consideration shown to my children by strangers who, for all intensive reasons, should not remember your child. That is the caliber of the ownership, leadership and management at this Dickie's location. The quality of the food compliments that leadership and only makes the dining experience better. No, not every place is going to be 100% ever time. But what I can tell you is that this location strives for excellence by observing the care and consideration that they have for their customers. That means something to me. It should mean something to all of us. Places like this deserve our patronage. This is why I love this particular Dickies location. (I'm hoping that the new location near Costco is going to be under the same ownership). A specific thank you to the owner of this location. You're awesome!

Dry brisket. Overdone ribs. The sides were clearly out of a can. Ice cream tasted like frozen sweetened condensed milk. The kids meal chicken nuggets were the dinosaur ones that Walmart sells for $4.50 a bag. Two stars for the friendly employees. The food was a disappointment, especially after paying nearly $40 to feed a family. Won't be back.

Upon arrival I noticed everything was filthy the handles for all the food then everything was empty the sauces the ice cream even the ice. Then as we are sitting there I notice every kid in the restaurant is looking up so I turn around to witness a woman getting chased with a knife and a puppy being hung from a pipe horror flick on the tv... I politely asked if they could change the channel to something a little more appropriate for everyone. They then changed it to a Hispanic show turned the volume up even though not one person in the entire restaurant was Hispanic over the country music that was already on. .. Needless to say I'll never go back to the nampa Dickeys.

I really enjoy the baked potato with meat. I'm also a big fan of "kids eat free on Sunday's"! Overall, a greAt value, very good food and kind service.

Everything tasted like Saran Wrap and cost to much. I don't think you really can call it bbq if it tasted boiled and not smoked.

After a long day of Christmas shopping, my grandma & I decided to stop by. First off the service wasn't great. The guy took my grandmas order but said nothing to me. After I looked at him & waved he realized that I wanted to place an order.. So we got the quarter plate, she got brisket & I got ribs. Her brisket was tasty but dry & I was shocked I only got 2 ribs for my $8.99! This included two sides but weren't very large so I was super bummed that I only received two ribs BUT they were good. Sad to say they weren't good enough to make me want to go back. As good as the food tastes its totally not worth it, we were both still hungry after leaving. The only reason I have them 3 stars is cause the food was decent I jus wish they would show their customers some love on the plate!

This is my first time giving a review. I'm not a huge complainer by any means. I believe that everyone makes mistakes and it's okay, that's how we learn. With that being said, I do believe that GREAT to at least GOOD customer service is a must. That's almost half of the reason customers come back. Now I will say the food was really good, like usual. BUT the service was crap!! I was completely floored!! I haven't been there (12th Nampa one) for quite sometime but I remember clear as day how cheerful everyone was and what great service they had. But as soon as I walked in this time I could tell that the staff was different. Very cold. Even to each other. I was the only person in line at that moment. There was 4 staff members. The first person you see is the one that takes your order and makes your choice of meats. She was in the middle of filling an order to go and I was fine with that. But she didn't say ONE word to me while I was standing in front of her for at least 6-10 mins. and she really took her sweet time. Even with customers piling up behind me. Then she just said is this to stay or go with a nice scowl on her face. In the middle of making my sandwich she said, go down there and pay. Then to top it off, the lady at the register didn't say anything but the incorrect amount, which I could get over if she would have either smiled, said have a good night, or your welcome after I say thank you!! It's ridiculous and uncalled for. They didn't look sad, they just looked like they could really care less. And that's a shame. I hope the owners read this because I specifically remember them and they were beyond awesome with there customers and I don't believe that they would want these 4 employees to represent them!! FYI, this happened Wed Mar 4th around 7pm.

Two words: Smokehouse Salad. Lots of romaine lettuce, shredded beef, shredded cheese, onion rings(!!), and ranch dressing. Paired it with a Bud Light, total win. It was so good. We need a Dickey's in Southern California.
