High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. Great service! Good food. Peaceful atmosphere. Will continue to come back here. I love the lemon grilled cedar chicken. It's so delicious! Not to mention the dessert menu. I love the new and updated menu that gives the option for a healthier lifestyle. Definitely check it out.

My wife and I tried to eat here tonight around 10:30pm and we were told by the hostess that they were extremely busy. We were also told that they didn't have enough servers in the restaurant to seat us and take our order. You could plainly see plenty of others seated in the restaurant eating and being taken care of, so not sure if this was b.s. or what. The hostess didn't seem to care about us leaving and going somewhere else, so we took our business elsewhere. I don't see many businesses that are in the practice of turning away paying customers, but apparently this place has become one. It's a shame too, as we truly enjoy eating here. I guess I should say "enjoyed" eating here, since we probably won't be back for a good long while.

My husband and I went to Applebee's yesterday 7-12-14. We ordered from the low calorie menu. I had the chicken portabella meal. I was amazed at the amount of food I received for the 440 calories. The food was spiced just right and tasted wonderful. There was however a small problem with my husbands dish. The manager was called and the issue was take care of immediately. For this I was very glad. I was glad that the issue wasn't just brushed under the table and dismissed. Thanks Applebee's.

I have to admit although Applebee's food isn't the worst its mediocre, my one star is strictly for service. On 2 separate occasions including tonight, we have come in late to eat and essentially been turned away because the excuse is the only seating we have available is in the bar because we are understaffed and don't have enough servers, and don't have any clean tables. For a restaurant that "prides" itself and advertises about being open late going in anytime after 9 PM guarantees you either get a frazzled server of you can even get a table. Tonight when we asked for a booth at 20 minutes to 11 the hostess said "sorry I don't have one clean and no ones available to clean one right now" I guess they are open late but only have 10 tables to choose from and if they don't have anyone to bus tables I don't even want to know who is washing dishes or cooking

It's Applebee's. You should know what to expect. As far as service goes, I ended up with Chelsea behind the bar. She was very friendly and held a nice conversation with me throughout the visit. Prices for beer on happy hour are a little pricier than would make me happy but that's not her fault!

The menu has changed and the appetizer platter is no more. It's all separate. The food is mediocre and I just went because I knew I could get a cold beer. Not a favorite place at all. They've changed the way you pay by a machine at your table. They add on your tip and you just click on 20 percent to add. I will not go back unless it's just to get a beer. Very disappointed.

This Applebee's restaurant is so good. If you go, try and get Julio C. for your server. This guy is oustanding. He doesn't miss a beat and you never have to ask for a refill on your beverages. The steaks are so tender and tasty. They almost melt in your mouth. We eat there on a regular basis and never have had a bad meal. Good bang for your buck.

I can handle the mediocre food and the dreadful corporate designed 'atmosphere'. Heck, I can even handle the prices that are 10-20% higher than the quality demands. The one thing I can't handle, however, is the incessant upselling and sales pitches. It is supremely distasteful and arrogant... never again.

Food Was Excellent and the Service was amazing! Austin did a great job serving us and our drinks never got empty and our food got to our table quickly! The only negative thing about the whole experience was the music! It was too loud and offensive. When we asked our server if it could get turned he said the management would not allow it. Because of that we have rated our overall stay a 4 instead of a 5. Overall it was a Great Dinner :)

I've been here quite a few times in the last two years and every single time I go I wonder why I come back. The service is not great. The food is NOT good. I've gotten sick at least 4 times from their food. Including last night when I went. Nothing about this place is worth me ever going back. End of story

Pretty dissappointed on my last visit to Applebees. What is usually a reliable formula for success to the over-corporate engineering/thinking of the franchise was a disaster. Besides the Quick service on the water the rest of the service was bad, resulting in cold food without much flavour. Not sure how you can screw up the Applebees recipe for customer service, but the Nampa store was able to on a Friday night in April. They had plenty of staff that was able to stand around chatting with each other, but still had long waits for food, for the check, and for the change to come back after paying. I am sure I will be back, but this visit was likely going to make me think about Red Robin, Outback, Wingers, or TGIF if I have a need for predictable chain food in that part of Nampa.

Went in with a group for dinner. We were promptly greeted at the door and the greeter was very personable. The server was attentive and did the norm as far as taking drink and food orders. The food came out in a fair amount of time and was good. Other than the greeter being super personable the rest of the experience wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

Attempted lunch and was disappointed. We waited 20 minutes for our appetizer while people who came in after us had eaten their meals and gotten their check by then. Waitresses were cleaning lamps, seats, and tables with the same rag which seemed to defeat the purpose. Main entree was good but considering there was a nearly empty restaurant service was slow. Everyone was standing around the bar playing with their hair and gossiping.

This is your typical Applebees. The staff was friendly but not out of there way. The food service did not seem quick but the bartender was right on top of the drinks. The food when it arived was good as you would expect from one of these franchise stores.

The waitress was the only good part of tonight. The food was bleh and everyone got their meals and finished by the time my wife's food even came to the table. Not to mention I asked to see a manager twice and after waiting 30 minutes, the manager never came. I was just told over and over that he was on the way. We will never eat at Applebees again.
