Quick review and short and sweet. This is fantastic BBQ. Yum. You will have great food in a good atmosphere. Have a beer with your BBQ and enjoy. The Carolina sauce is authentic with a twist.

I've been a fan of Big Daddy's since before they opened this location. Good food, done well and close to home. It's not backyard bbq and can't be because it's a restaurant. But when I'm too lazy to make it myself these guys are my go to. Friendly staff, clean establishment, recommended.

I enjoy the food from here and find myself craving a Big Daddy every once in a while. It's good enough and unique enough to keep me coming back. I am border line 3 & 4 stars but am going with 4 because want people to try it. I want it to stick around for a while and get a chance to mature. Seems like only the BBQ chains stick around and I dislike the chains. Only complaint is this: I wish they did a half size version of the BigDaddy that was less expensive and easier to eat without slobbering half of it down my shirt. Have not tried the ribs yet but every place around here seems to fall down on the ribs so I am afraid to try.

If you want to read a short review, here it is. . . FANTASTIC! The owners are extremely friendly and remember me every time I come in. The food is excellent! Best BBQ I have ever had. Although it wasn't planned, I somehow ended up buying a house close by ;) Price: 4/5 - A little pricey, but it makes it a nice treat once in a while. Atmosphere: 4/5 - Feels like you are at grandma's house for dinner. Not a big concern as the food is what is most important. It just isn't a place that you would go to dress up and go on a date. Staff: 5/5 - Extremely friendly. Mom & pop business. Location: 4/5 - A little off the beaten path & hidden, but makes for a nice treat when you are in the area. Food: 4.5/5 - Excellent! Took .5 off just because sometimes the meat can be a little fatty, but for the most part it is always great. Value: 5/5 - Big portions of great food. Includes 1 large side and a huge entree.

First time here, looking for a good BBQ place close to home. Hard to get closer to home than this place so we gave it shot. We noticed right off that the place is very clean. That always scores points with us at mom and pop places. The menu was basic but broad enough to give you a good idea of what your appetite will have in store. The gal behind the counter was very friendly and helped us right away. Food was outstanding! Brisket was delicious. Wife got the spicy sausage. And it also was terrific! We recommend this place ten times over! Hit it if you're in the area. If you're not. Get there anyway!

I love this mom and Pop barbecue shop. Food is fresh to order and the customer service is amazing. I often pick up a meal to go and bring it to meetings where people often ask where I got it. No need to advertise because once you see this food you'll be sold. I've tried the beef brisket tacos -which are very filling since they come in three tacos. I love the California pulled pork sandwich too. They have sauces on the side in the store and both sauces are great!

Their brisket is excellent! We frequently have the pulled pork, chopped chicken and my favorite spicy sausage (not for the timid pallet) The cold slaw and baked beans are our favorite sides and they often have tasty cheese cake! The proprietors are friendly, the service excellent and the restaurant is very clean. We are fortunate to have Big Daddy's near by our neighborhood.

Tried the breakfast burrito this morning, and it was simply the best I have ever had! I had the two meat option with pulled pork and brisket. It came with a side of salsa and sour cream. It was huge and simply delicious!

The restaurant is nice and clean, and the lady behind the counter was very friendly. I love brisket, so I tried the sliced brisket sandwich with fries. The fries were very good, but the brisket was just ok. The biggest problem was that the brisket was cut with the grain, instead of across the grain. One piece was almost 1/2 inch thick and even though it was cooked about right, without being cut across the grain, it made for a chewy sandwich. There was a good bark, but not a lot of smoke flavor in the meat. The liquid smoke in the sauce overpowered the meat. My wife had the mac and cheese, and it was pretty weak with small elbow noodles and a thin cheese sauce. We went for lunch and we were the only people in the place. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.

Mmmmm Baaarbeeequuue!! I love me some bbq and Big Daddy's fits the bill! ... I LOVE (LOVE) pork to an obsession, but for bbq beef is where it is at. Those big beefy ribs that are so tender yet require a little chewing (you know what I mean!) ... YUMMM ... and don't get me started on the brisket!!! If that isn't enough, they don't neglect their sides! Mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, even coleslaw were really good (just ask my 10 yr old niece - she ate with gusto when we took her there for the first time the other night!) Big Mamma informed me everything is homemade ... I don't doubt it!! EAT HERE!!!

Ate here twice in the last week, small, friendly 'mom & pop' place. Super clean, fast service and extremely tasty Q!. I've had my usual sliced brisket/pulled pork plate both times, brisket was perfect (nice smoke, tender), pulled pork was a little dry the second time (fine the first time!). Sides I tried were bbq beans (good, but I wish they had some brisket scraps in them....) and the smashed red garlic potatoes (excellent!). Going to try another place today, but I'll definitely be back here before I leave Idaho :)

Very clean and nice little place, staff was very friendly and helpful. Got the brisket and pulled pork, sides where mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. The portions are huge, more then enough food for 2. The pork was pretty good, the brisket, normally my fav at BBQ joints was absolutely horrible, fatty and zero smoke flavor...had two others with me and we all agreed. The mac & cheese was awesome! The garlic mashed potatoes where okay. I won't be going back, sad to say it was a great enviorment, and excellent people, but the food was not up to par.

A BBQ artist. Wow it's hard to find good authentic BBQ and I just found it at big Daddy's. Amazing flavor - love the spicy sauce! Big generous portions. I come to Boise once a month and this is on my "must stop" spot. Wish I had one of these in Seattle!

Finally! A BBQ place in Meridian we can be proud of. Tonight I ate the best brisket and ribs I've ever had in Idaho, Hoss has some serious BBQ skills. His brisket stands up to anything I've had in the South, definitely the best the best in Boise. The portions are generous, and the simple menu has exactly what a BBQ joint should have. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. I was particularly impressed with the mac n cheese. Many BBQ restaurants put lots of effort into the meat, and fall way short on their sides. Hoss obviously puts effort into the sides, and the mac n cheese is delicious. Getting BBQ anywhere else would just be a waste of your time and money, so don't bother.

Great food and great service! The 50/50 with sweet sauce was amazing and so was the garlic smashed potatoes. Great place to sit down for home style BBQ!
