No, no, no! I cannot believe this was labeled best BBQ north of Texas. I am from Texas and this is NOT BBQ. It was not even edible food of any kind. I ordered a 2 meat combo of ribs and brisket with a side of potato salad and cole slaw for almost 20 bucks. My first impression was the fact that when it showed up it smelled like meat from a fresh opened can of dog food. I am not sure why I dug in, I guess I was hoping my sniffer was off? Then I tasted it: blech Cole slaw; was limp and liquidy, no crunch, horrible flavor. Potato Salad; it actually looked disgusting, the potatoes were RAW and it was hardly seasoned. It was not your traditional potato salad but I am OK with new types of food. This could not be saved. It was thick, with I swear what seemed like boiled bacon and cheap shredded cheese mixed in with cream cheese or sour cream? I couldnt get passed the raw taters to tell you for sure. Never tasted anything like it and never want to again. Brisket: Oh geeze, I will sum it up by saying that it tasted like they soaked it over night in SUGAR. It was super sweet and boiled. There was no way this brisket had ever seen the light of a flame. It was moist, but disgusting. Ribs; The ribs were NOT fresh and had a strange metallic taste to them that I cannot explain. Again, very moist but gross. I found the source of my dog food smell. It also came with an ice cold sweet dinner roll and sweet BBQ sauce. What's up with the sweet trend? I was hoping it was me so I wrapped up my uneaten food and took it home to my garbage disposal husband and teenage son. I said nothing to them, just said I was not hungry. They each dug in and it resulted in some of the most evil looks a mom/wife could ever get. My disposals say it was the worst food they have ever eaten. I am a sad lady right now because I really wanted to love this place. I expected a different kind of BBQ than I was used too, I have open taste buds, they dont discriminate their meat. Well...apparently they do. And I cant even add a star for service, the lady at the counter looked miserable. Never got a single smile. Perhaps because I interrupted her cigarette break out by the BBQ grill. She was the only thing smoking out there! Serves me right for visiting a place where I was the only customer.

Our family had a really good dinner at this bbq joint. We tried the tri-tip, pulled pork and brisket. All three were really good. Favorite sides were mac & cheese and pork & beans. Both were excellent. We fed a family of four for about $30 on very tasty barbeque. I highly recommend Hells Canyon Smokehouse if passing through the area.

Awesome place. I have been in town for business and stopped by 4 times to eat.. Great friendly people... The Beans are the BEST I've had. I am a Texan and take pride in my BBQ... And this place is awesome.

Pretty good barbecue, it's not Fat Matt's but around here it's good stuff. The rib meat fell off the bones and the sausage was good. The brisket was also delicious. The mild sauce had a nice flavor and wasn't too sweet. The slaw was good as well, not too saucy. Overall I'd give it 4/5. I can't give any place a 5, the bar has been set too high from my trip to Georgia!

This place is awesome! Some of the best BBQ North of Texas that I've found. Must have: Crazy Farm. It's out of this world good. One of my favorite joints to eat lunch or dinner at in the valley. And as a bonus always jamming good music.

First impressions are perplexing: The restaurant is located in a shabby strip mall, and the front windows are completely blacked out, so you have no idea what you're getting before you open the door. The barbecue smells amazing from the street, and even better when you exit your car. Once inside, you won't find the traditional barbecue restaurant atmosphere: it's super clean with no real character. Most barbecue joints feel "lived-in" and "down home," this feels new, sterile, and generic. The service was very friendly and the music in the seating area was loud enough that we had to nearly yell when talking. What really matters is the food. I was excited for tri-tip, which is advertised on the front windows, but wasn't actually available. Choices overall were pretty limited. The meat was fantastic (4-5 stars), but serving sizes were small with barely any meat. I'd rather get a small quantity of high quality than the other way around, but for the prices I would expect more. Like most barbecue restaurants the sides were nothing special, and I was very disappointed that there were no hush puppies available. I would be willing to try Hell's Canyon Smokehouse again, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Had a full rack and burnt ends, this place was amazing! Rubs were perfectly cooked. Not quite fall off the bone, you can take a perfect bite. I had both sauces and they were fantastic! The burnt ends were juicy and delicious. I ate everything! The owner also came by to chat and was very friendly. I highly recommend this as a must see for locals and someone passing through or visiting!

You know when you walk in a place and a bunch of local cowboys are starin' at ya, it's gonna be good! Get here early for lunch because by 2:00 they only had pulled pork and pulled chicken and a couple sausages left! Their coleslaw, baked beans and Mac-n-cheese were great....we'd get those again. Prices are reasonable and the meat was tender. The hot sauce wasn't too hot. I would probably ask for extra sauce next time. My kids would probably get the half pound of Mac n cheese and eat that...! Overall a good find! Great service! Will definitely be back (before the lunch rush)!

Incredible bbq! Meat is delicious with or without sauce. Both sweet and hot sauces excite your mouth with each bite. Atmosphere isn't quite cozy, but it seems better than it used to be.

Really great bbq! And the owners are amazingly nice. I haven't had bbq this great! They have great convenient hours, perfect location and an awesome set up! They let me test taste and everything was so good that it was a tough decision, I went with a sliced brisket sandwich. Husband's favorite is the whole hog! They were faster than any where including fast food drive thru.

Amazing brisket. Great ribs and pulled pork. Had the "3-meat" plate and it was amazing. Lots of good too. Very basic decor. Not much ambiance, but very friendly staff and the food is high quality. I'd recommend this to anybody. Great for lunch. They don't serve beer, so that's kind of a minus.

Don't let the outside fool you! The building is plain Jane strip mall and the interior is very bland unlike most BBQ joints but the food is A+. We were from out of town and my whole family really loved it!! The flavor was high quality and amazing! Highly recommend!

Hells Canyon Smokehouse is Amazing! The most tender fall off the bone baby back ribs I have ever had! Mild BBQ sauce was slightly sweet and very mild. Left me wanting to come back just so I could try the HOT BBQ sauce. Cody, tonight's fire tender, took me out back to show me the smoker. It was this awesome home made iron smoker with a 400 pound door. Staff was friendly and courteous, service was brisk, and I loved listening to the blues (BB King) while I ate my BBQ. I felt it was a little pricey for the amount of food I got, but it was definitely high quality. Their motto is "smokehouse done right", and after I saw the care and attention to the meat and the prolonged cook time (up to 24 hours), in my opinion they live up to their motto. I will definitely be making this stop when I am in Lewiston!

Wonderful owners, so engaging with their customers...they even took my boys into the kitchen to show them what was going on...and I haven't even mentioned anything about the delicious ribs!

When I want BBQ prime rib, sometimes on sandwich. The place to go. The chicken is very juicy and full of flavor. Hubby and son like the spicy mac and cheese. I like the pork and beans, with pulled pork. Great BBQ and great service. Have daily specials too.

I love this place, my second visit and it just gets better and better. When a business promotes bbq or smoked meat, it is all about passion and this couple has a passion for doing it right. This is a walk-in place, however it is my understanding they purchased the tattoo parlor next door and this will become a seating area for groups. Hells Canyon Smokehouse also caters.

The pulled pork sandwich was amazing. I should have had the three meat plate though. It was surprisingly empty. I just missed the lunch rush. I will be back for sure!!

Really really good food! Just not enough for the price. I ended up spending over 30 bucks for 2 people, and we finished it off easily...no leftovers. Yes, I can put down food pretty easily, but if I'm going to be paying that much, I want leftovers...especially with BBQ where most places say Go Big or Go Home! Like I said though...all the food tasted great!

Excellent barbecue! Nicely remodeled space and quick, friendly service. This is one of the best places to eat at in the LC Valley.

When this place opened the only other BBQ joint, worth going to, was The Lunch Box cafe. Then they were just carryout but now they have a sit down area and the food is still great. Trouble is....when I ate there about April 3rd of this year they were still getting their scene together. They fumbled a larger order and sort of delayed in taking a new one. My dinner was just fine though, as far as I am concerned ribs are the fifth basic food group. A full time, adult, professional cook wouldn't hurt them a bit. I am absolutely going back so we will see.

This was the best BBQ that I have had since my last visit to Texas. So far everything has been wonderful and I love the grown up Mac & Cheese, it has a hint of green chili, yummmm!

Probably the best BBQ I've had...ever. Little help with decor could help but don't let it stop you from visiting regularly. Nice help, great future.
