I want to give this cafe four stars for having weird tasting gravy, and when I say weird I don't mean bad just unexpected--let me rant and explain. I read others opinions regarding service, setting and flavors of plates. I usually judge a place by its ability to serve tasteful biscuits and scratch made gravy. I ordered the app of one biscuit & gravy for $3.50 I got my money's worth :) The biscuit came out halved and smothered in a river of chunky sausage country gravy. The bite is airy and with a little chew. The biscuits are delicious and worth trying. Gravy...how I love thee. I love gravy with toast and I love gravy with roast. I love gravy with starch and I love gravy when parched. I love gravy, yes please. I don't love gravy with cheese :-/ The gravy is rich, I mean drowned in butter and heavy ass cream and mixed with bacon/sausage drippings. This gravy has a texture close to custard and rich like it too. This gravy has great smell and looks satisfying. This gravy is flavorful and very tasty all except the off putting cheese flavor. It's not horrible, just weird. My mini-me ordered the breakfast of chompions and was amazed with the girth of the Belgian waffle and the eggs/hashbrown combo.

Probably won't be back again. They need to get rid of the waitress that was wearing a tube top on sat 9/5/15. I can sense the friction between the workers, this presents itself to the customer as insincerity and indifference. I can do without Michael Jackson music also. Eggs Benedict is good, pass on the Stoddard scramble.

This place has everything! The food is delicious. I've tried quite a few things and I love everything! Some of our favorites are the cinnamon rolls, which are the best I've ever had! We also love the waffles with the homemade strawberry jam which is to die for. For coffee lovers they serve Doma coffee as well. Haven't got a chance to try the desserts, but they look amazing. The place is very consistent. Food is consistently excellent, the service is always spot on and the place is constantly busy! The place is small so you'll want to probably count on a wait if you're coming at a popular eating out time. However, it is definitely worth it! Best new restaurant in awhile to the Hayden/CDA area.

Great chicken fried steak! Excellent service. Good breakfast. Love the decor. Great spot for a relaxed meal with my hubby. Being a farm kid, I loved it.

I brought my kids here for brunch on a Saturday morning around 11. We were told the wait would be about 20 minutes. We actually waited close to 45 minutes. When they finally called my name, instead of leading my party to the table, the hostess just pointed and said that we could sit at that particular table. The waitress seemed stressed out and wasn't very friendly. They seemed to be very understaffed. The music (Michael Jackson and Prince) was so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves talk. At some point the music was finally turned down. We waited another 45 minutes for our food to arrive, so we had been there an hour and a half before we were served. When my meal arrived, it was incorrect. She did take it back and had them re-do it, but at that point I was so frustrated at how long it was taking to be served that I didn't care. When the waitress came to check on us and ask us "how does everything taste?", she didn't even wait for an answer. She said "Oh let me get you more water." The food was good but not worth being treated that way. They are understaffed and not friendly. The seating area was crowded and loud, and the blaring music didn't help. I won't be back.

After hearing my husband rave about Chomper Cafe, I finally had the opportunity to experience. Menu is incredible and has numerous choices. I had the Chomper Salad (Cobb) and it was wonderful. I always try to wait before going to a new restaurant so they can get their "kinks" out. They have no "kinks" to get out. Great Food, Excellent Service.....Keep up the Good Work !!

Amazing restaurant. I'm a vegetarian and it's difficult to find a restaurant that has a lot to offer but this one did not disappoint. Fantastic veggie burger. They also offer a 10% military discount. Amazing quality food at reasonable prices.

Had a breakfast dish with salmon on a bagel, with egg and hollandaise sauce. It was awesome. Small place with limited seating. Nice place overall.

Went there for breakfast. We ordered a cinnamon roll with our meal. The waitress asked us if we wanted it before our meal and we told her, yes. It never arrived. When we asked about the rolls the waitress said, oh yeah, I forgot. She said she would bring them out but we told her we wanted it before our meal. No apologies, no nothing. You could tell she didn't care about her job. The rest of the service was slow and they were not that busy. My wife's eggs were weird. Looked like they were made of rubber. She couldn't finish them. My omlet was okay, but just, okay. And then to top it off, the dirty dishes were stacked up right behind, and I mean right behind our booth. So every few minutes the staff would stack and slam the dishes. It was very distracting and unprofessional. Also, there were a lot of flies in the restaurant, kind of gross. Not going to return.

We all had a great breakfast - excellent chicken fried steak. Looking forward to next visit. If I lived in CdA, this would be the go-to breakfast spot. My only suggestion is some noise control in the dining room - it was very loud in there. Otherwise, a great experience.

Food was excellent! Although it took awhile to get sat, we got service fairly quick. The prices are reasonable and the portions are great! Anyone who comes to The Chomper won't be disappointed!

Fantastic breakfast!! I love 'The Breakfast of Chompians'. Although I admit it's a very large breakfast. This is a great place to have breakfast, clean, great tasting food, pleasant staff. Nuff said, go, eat, enjoy!!

This is a new restaurant that opened up a few months ago, apparently. We were in town visiting and decided to give it a try based off the positive reviews. It was packed on a Sunday morning, but we were able to snag a table in the outdoor section. There was a little garden area in front of the barn where old cattle watering buckets were filled with various herbs, fruits and veggies. This was fun for the kids and adults to look at and it gave a wonderful nature-ish vibe to our breakfast atmosphere. Breakfast was a tad slow coming, but the food was worth the wait! Everyone enjoyed their order and there were kids to adults to seniors in our group. The prices are moderate, a little more expensive than an average breakfast joint but, all in all, this is a great place to bring out of town guests and I definitely recommend it for breakfast at least.

Great service, great food! My boyfriend got the BAT and I got the grilled cheese with bacon and avocado. The avocado was so fresh and green! The coffee comes with a cute mini milk bottle for the cream. We came in at 9am on a Sunday morning. It was a 10 minute wait to be seated and 40 minutes for our food to come. If you're looking for a place to leisurely enjoy your meal, this is it! The patio would be great to eat at for the warmer summer months. The decor inside was cute and original too. The service was very friendly despite it being packed, which is a great plus!

We've eaten here twice: once in-house when they first opened and once stopped in to order take-out a couple weeks ago. Sorry to say, we weren't impressed. Both times we were served by the owner, and both times she was totally nice to us but terribly mean to her kitchen staff in open view of the customers. I worked in restaurants, so I'm super sensitive to what's going on peripherally, but even my fiancé noticed it and said something (who never notices stuff like this) so I know it wasn't just me. Food was okay in-house (biscuits and gravy and chicken fried steak), but takeout was no good (fish and chips and biscuits and gravy). Fish and chips were super greasy and overdone with sad freezer fries and the B&G was completely different, with the gravy being far more smokey and peppery than the first time in-- and not in a good way, it was like someone accidentally doubled or tripled the spices. We had high hopes for this place as it's literally two minutes from our house. Maybe we will try again in a few months.

The hubby and I were visiting friends in Hayden and upon leaving, we found this cute little place. It's clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and thee food was delicous. Coffee was really good and they kept it coming! I had the pancakes with huckleberries without the whipped cream and they were crispy and yummy. The hubby liked the strawberry sauce on the table. The only negative was the weak Wi-Fi signal, but they are working on it. Would definitely recommend coming to this place.

Finally decided to try it after months of watching it get built, then always looking busy we went for it. Far as building and venue absolutely stunning well taken care of was a wedding being prepared while we ate. The dinning area is so neat and original with creative wall art to a kid area with their own kitchen. That alone was worth it my kids are young and energetic so this was great for them to play. Menu very well done great selection of items fair prices. Onto the food it was very well prepared and seemed like all homemade everything and possibly organic but unsure was that good. Time to try breakfast next. Also great service. Only gave 4 stars cause haven't tried breakfast yet lunch was great.

Not sure about all the great reviews. We went expecting to have a nice experience. My husband is a food service manager (and I also have experience in food service), so we are always sensitive to how hard people work in restaurants. That being said, this place is lacking - perhaps because it's still quite new. We were greeted in a friendly manner and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The waitress seemed a bit harried as if she had too many tables. We were able to order our food in a timely manner and received our drinks in a timely manner. She also brought coloring pages for our two boys. The problem was how long it took to receive our food and how it was handled. The place was not very busy at the time, as it was after the main lunch rush (We had arrived a little after 1 p.m.) My husband ordered his sandwich with the coleslaw on the side, which shouldn't cause a lengthy wait in itself. The problem (it turns out) was that they forgot to leave it off, so they made the entire sandwich over without telling us the problem until after we received our order. When we got our food (45 minutes after ordering it), my burger was cold while my husband's was hot and fresh. My food had good flavor, but it was cold. I ordinarily would have sent it back, but we had already waited an extremely long time. Others were receiving their meals (and leaving) who had arrived after us. The manager came around and gave us a sample of a strawberry waffle while we waited for our food (which she was doing for everyone). We got NO explanation of why we were waiting so long for our food. The waitress seemed nervous and told us several times that it would be out soon. We never got a table visit from the manager asking if everything was okay or apologizing. The waitress apologized and comped a side order of fries we ordered. We should have gotten at least one full meal free for the time we had to wait (and the cold food)- plus an apology from the manager. We never complained, but I really wish I had said something to the manager as we were leaving. We will likely not go back, and we live just down the street from this place.

Breakfast was very good, excellent biscuits and gravy, not your canned gravy! Homemade strawberry jam was so good! Large portions, good service.

Wondful food and service, the staff is friendly and the food is quick! The menu has a good variety and there is even an area for children to play. It does get a bit busy on the weekends so expect a 10-15 minute wait during the prime hours.

We ate here for Mother's Day. The wait wasn't to bad for how many people were there. And while you wait for a table there is an airpot of coffee sitting there for you. The waitress was amazing. Now for the food. It was AMAZING!! It is now our favorite local restaurant! We loved that we could replace our eggs with farm fresh ones. My mom hates that places with French Toast don't add spices to the egg coating for the bread. She took one bite and was happy she could taste the nutmeg. We loved we could eat outside. It was overall an amazing experience and we can not wait to eat there again!

Chompers is new and needs some kinks worked out to be great. The wait time is average for a decent breakfast place, so be prepared. The atmosphere is "cozy" but they could eliminate the childs' kitchen play area to accommodate a few more two person tables. Once seated we ordered the "appetizer" cinnamon roll, but didn't get it till we got bfast and ended taking it home at that point. A few hours later we had the roll. I probably wouldn't get the maple pecan again. The maple frosting was over cooked and was too sugary and the roll was very dry. My omelet was pretty good, along with the chomper fries. I did like that they had great strawberry jam AND they put it in a squeeze bottle instead of the tiny plastic cups...so that was a bonus. It's too bad they don't use local bread to make it fabulous. Their gravy was good, but not the best in town and not quite the same as their counterpart restaurant (not as thick and less meat and tasted like cheese...weird). My breakfast cohort had the chicken fry, said it was "okay." He originally wanted corned beef hash, but were out of browns. His boy got the french toast, it looked good and he gobbled it right down. I suppose it's picky, but I prefer raw sugar for my coffee, but the main thing that really got me, was the food temp. Everything we got was just warm and not hot, so it was sitting for awhile and that is one thing that is hard for me to get over. It's hard, I want to compare it to The Cottage, since I know there is a strong affiliation, but it's probably not fair to them with me doing that and I'm a breakfast snob, so there's that. This place is definitely better than most places in the Cd'A/Hayden area and they could give my favorite place a run, but they need to refine things a wee bit. I will go back, eventually, and try it again though.

Third strike you're out! Went there for my last time today. Waited an hour for two people to be seated, waited another 10-15 minutes for our waitress to bring water/coffee and take our order. Second star is for how quickly our order came out, but maybe they should have spent more time preparing it. My wife's and mine eggs were runny and half cooked. Her 'seasonal' cinnamon roll was cold. We also had to flag down a bus boy to get our coffee refilled, as our waitress never came by until time to drop off our bill. I have had better food and service at Jack-in-the-Box! Next time the wife and I get the urge to go out for breakfast, we'll be going to Micheal D's....we're kicking ourselves for not going there today.

Seriously i have eaten there more times than I'd like to admit. I'm constantly taking company and friends there. Their corn beef is to die for.... To my knowledge everyone I've taken there has lived the food and the service.
