Great cheesy bread! I only have been once and I only ordered the cheesy bread, but I will definitely be going back to order it again and ask try other things on their menu. The prices were fantastic, and I wanted extra dipping sauce, which they provided free of charge. It's a great neighborhood pizza joint that I would recommend.
Everything is good here so don't be afraid of ordering anything from this menu. Made fresh so a little wait to be expected especially on Thursday (cavetelli night) nice to have a place like this in a small town.
We love their pizza! My husband and I have loved every pizza we've tried there. They use Graziano sausage - sausage and mushroom pizza there is one of my faves, and I normally don't even like sausage! All of their toppings taste so fresh. We also have had great service every time we've gone. We just moved to Norwalk in August of last year, and we're happy we found this place!

Winns Pizza and Steakhouse

We always get the pizza! This restaurant is new to Norwalk but is a branch of Winns in Indianola. The owners are always greeting customers and getting to know the locals. It feels like comfortable and welcoming every time we go. How their wait staff operates is the only reason this isn't a five star from me. It always feels like there are two waiters and ten bussers. I would definitely recommend Winns if you're looking for something new in Norwalk.
I came here with a buddy of mine on their 2nd day of opening! My buddy informed me they are a very successful and good restaurant in Indianola so we decided to try their new location in Norwalk which I believe is their first expansion. I always enjoy eating at a family owned restaurant because it feels the staff cares about how your experience with their establishment is. The staff members here are all very friendly and seem to be excited to be a part of a newly opened restaurant. There were already a good amount of customers eating here when we arrived, it means they are already established in the neighborhood and will have good business. We started with the eggrolls for the appetizer and we ordered the Aiden's special pizza to share. Because they are a pizza and steakhouse, we decided to try the pizza this time and maybe the steaks next time! The eggrolls were very good, an order comes with 4 delicious eggrolls! The pizza was good as well, the flavors and texture all were good. The manager/owner was very friendly, she came out to see how we were enjoying the food and the restaurant itself. I have a feeling this will be a staple establishment in the city of Norwalk.
I had a great experience here. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. I ordered the chicken gyro and it came out just about as good as they come. Chicken was not dry, plenty of sauce, and the right amount of lettuce tomato and onion. Being Filipino - I know a good egg roll. I was raised on them. This is a legitimate handmade egg roll. Don't miss your chance on a delicious treat! If I have any criticisms, it's because the fried cod my friend got wasn't very good.. In their defense, he probably shouldn't have ordered cod in central Iowa. Also, the thinner (McDonald's width) fries aren't really my cup of tea, and were not as hot as I'd like them to be. Met the owner when I went to pay for my meal, and you really couldn't get more of a warm welcome. The epitome of a local casual family restaurant!

China Dragon

Reviews:
In a market that is over saturated with run of the mill, mediocre Asian - American restaurants, China Dragon does it a little bit better. Family atmosphere, good sauces, great prices, we eat there a lot.
Normally I don't come to Norwalk to eat unless I'm meeting my buddy who lives down here. This day my buddy and I wanted to try their Peking Duck because I did not know there was somewhere in Des Moines that offered this dish. There are many Asian eateries/BBQ places that offer duck (whole or chopped up), but none that I heard of that serve Peking Duck (this just means how it's served, not a special type of duck, the duck is the same). I have had authentic Peking Duck in China on multiple occasions and was curious to do a comparison. We called ahead the day before to confirm if they would serve Peking Duck the next day, because on their menu it says 24 hour notice is required. They said they could accomodate us for lunch. The restaurant is nice and relaxing, not extremely busy, seems like a comfortable place to eat a quick lunch or enjoy a conversation with friends. We started our meal with sweet and spicy soup and egg drop soup. The soups were very good, I wish they came with the Peking Duck order, we had to order it separately. The duck order did come with a small bowl of fried rice which tasted okay. Now for the duck, I'm just going to say first, it was very very good! The flavors were excellent and I couldn't say enough about the taste of the duck. Now, is it Peking Duck? Close, but off by a good amount. Here are the differences, they cut the duck in the back and not tableside, the skin is also not separated from the lean meat. The wrapping they have is more like a tortilla, not the authentic wrapping. Not enough onions to use for the wrap, hardly any. The hosin sauce was good, they got that aspect right. Overall, great tasting meal and good price! I will definitely get the Peking Duck again and see what other menu items they have to offer!
My mother and I stopped here for dinner after a very long day. It was clean and not too busy. The menu had an extensive variety dishes to choose from. We ordered Mongolian Beef and Cashew Chicken. The Mongolian Beef was wonderful and done the correct way beef, green onions, yellow onions. It was nice that they didn't try to make it their own by adding all sorts of stuff to it. The Cashew Chicken was flavorful and full of cashews. We shared an appetizer of pork wonton Mom got the dinner special that included soup. I thought the fresh made carrot flower was a great garnish. I have gone to pricier places and have not had such lovely presentation of meals. I am not quite sure what Donald orders that is so expensive, but our meal was about 25.00 for 2. In my book, that is not expensive. I am sure I will be back when I am in town. Nice to know you can get good chinese in Norwalk.

These places are all over Iowa. They are a general store like a 7-11 with a pizza/sub shop in there. They also do breakfast sandwhiches and a breakfast pizza. They are listed as either the carry out pizza or the general store. I have become more and more familir with them over the years and really beginning to like my stops at them. Their biscuits and Gravy are pretty darn good. Give them a try.

Great Burgers! And they just got in a brand new Game room! 2 pool tables, new darts, new touch tunes, place is turning around for the better.
It's not that Cal's is bad, it's just not really good either. It's basically average in about every category. First off, the place is really just blah. White walls with a few fat heads here and there, a couple of TVs although they only have cable so if you are looking to watch something more specific you probably aren't getting it. The bar is generic, with generic chairs. I mean literally this place just oozes "meh". Onto the menu, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, a handful of "dinners". It's really basic. Again, nothing that will disgust you, but you won't walk away from here saying to yourself "I need to come here more often". The beer taps really leave something to be desired. Three taps all full generic macro swill. This isn't a place to come to if you are looking for craft beer. Cal's is what it is. It's a small town bar/restaurant in a town that is quickly growing. Right now there isn't much competition in town so Cal's is doing OK. But further down the line if new eateries begin coming to town Cal's might be in trouble.
Cal's is consistently the place to go for a drink with friends or supper with the family. The menu makes everyone happy with everything from pizza to burgers, wraps, or steak, chicken, and Italian favorites. And the food is always awesome! Be sure to try the selection of homemade smoked meats!

McDonald’s

2901 Sunset Dr
Norwalk, 50211
Reviews:
This McDonald has improved lately. They have a new manager that has been with the company a long time. I've been in there twice in the lat two weeks and he is training staff and always cleaning. The food order was accurate and hot. I'm hopeful that they have turned the corner and you should be much happier now. I hope it continues and they are appreciated more in the future.
You had one job. Well. Let's just say that this McDonalds cannot clean up its terrible act. I live in norwalk , I don't frequent Mc Donald's , I would hope no self respecting person would. I usually get the correct order 1 out of three visits. Do yourself a favor and instead of going there, either punch yourself in the sack or punch yourself in the sack. And if you do go and get your order screwed up, don't bother complaining, it doesn't help shape up the employees - they most likely won't be working there long anyway...so to all the regulars (Mountain Dew people and other rif raff) you deserve each other. Ps zero stars isnt a option. Wow, what is this 3rd grade? You get a star for just breathing with a McDonald's shirt on? Wtf
It is what it is, it's McDonald's. Everybody has had their food, so nothing I say in that regards is going to be new to anybody. It just seems more often than not I have issues with the service and quality here. Over the years I've had a plethora of missing items. As a veteran of fast food service for a few years in high school and college I can attest to the fact that there are a lot of orders that get processed in a given day, and once in a while things get missed. It happens. But it should never happen in the frequency that it happens here. Maybe I'm just really unlucky. Being in Norwalk, there aren't many options for food, especially later at night unless you want to drive into Des Moines or West Des Moines. My latest trip to this establishment last weekend continued to solidify my already dismal feelings toward this place. Again, another missing item (an Apple Pie), and even though it was quite busy at 10:00pm that particular evening (a drive thru line about seven cars deep) my burger was cold and the meat was nearly the consistency of beef jerky. It was cold and chewy and downright nasty. My microwave at least melted the cheese and made it slightly more edible. I just don't understand how I could get something so cold and nasty when they had a long line backed up. One would think they had to be cooking fresh food to meet the demand right? Of course, I contacted corporate, and as usual I haven't heard from them and don't expect to either. They don't care. It's McDonald's, the biggest fast food chain in the world. For every customer they drive away they have more just being born who'll be hooked on Happy Meals by the time they are two years old. Sorry for the rant, but this place is horrible and even though I am hoping and praying for more eating options in Norwalk I would not shed a single tear if this McDonald's were to just go away.
