Giovanni's is my favorite pizza place in Newton! It's a great place for a casual dinner during the week. Being newer to Newton, I've heard the great history of this place from friends and co-workers. While it might not be inviting on the outside (although improvements have been made) the inside has had some nice work done to improve the dining experience. The food is a little expensive, but it's not a chain restaurant and the food is worth it. There are usually great deals during the week nights and they even have some great lunch specials. I love their taco pizza - it reminds me of taco pizza from back home in Minnesota! The staff and management are always friendly and service is prompt.

Giovanni's is a great place to go for a casual night in (or take it to go as we often do). I see this restaurant as a Newton staple and hope that it never changes like past staples have (looking at you Taco John's and Maid Rite). The current owner has made some great interior improvements for your dining experience, don't let the exterior turn you away. It's had its ups and downs over the years, but more often than not, we have had a positive experience. Does the food cost more than Domino's or Pizza Hut? Heck yes, this isn't a chain restaurant. But they do offer some great dine in deals most nights of the week. Their lunch specials are fantastic! The quality and taste is far superior then the cheaper options in town. Our household would rather spend $$ on good food than $ on mediocre food. The management and staff have always been friendly and helpful.

I've been going to Giovanni's for years with my family. It's a very casual environment with friendly staff. The specialty pizzas are delicious. Onion straws for appetizers are great. I especially love the taco pizza which has crushed Doritos sprinkled on the top.

It was super busy. Took 20 minutes after seating to see server. The food was nowhere near as good as my past experience. We will be back for another try hoping this was a fluke. The parking is terrible. We had to park in a equipment leasing lot, hoping not to get towed. I know these guys can do better. It's always been excellent in the past, but I will be sure to post if next time is a flop as well.
