I stayed in the hotel for 12 days and never saw another living soul, however the bed was very comfortable and the room was large and tastefully decorated. The main downside was that I had a do not disturb sign on my door which was repeatedly ignored and staff were no where to be found when you needed them.

We have stayed at the Tremont for the last two years. It is on the second floor of a century old building and in its prior life was offices for a law firm. It is a rare find. The rooms are large and furnished in plush excess. JP and Jen own and operate and are attentive to your needs. It has two restaurants on the street level with a bar. It would be perfect except for one thing. It has no elevator. If steps do not bother you STAY THERE.

Hotel is upstairs of the restaurant. Actually checked in at the bar. It is a boutique hotel. Clean, large rooms with comfortable beds. However gives you feel of bed and breakfast or staying at grandma house, because you can hear everything going on in hotel.

Tremont on Main is a fabulous establishment! Boutique hotel with a very European feel, sophisticated bar/dining room for evening meals, and homey coffee shop/diner for breakfast and lunch. It is immaculate and the food is excellent! It is also secure and comfortable for a single female traveler. I highly recommended it!

This place is an incredible find. I spent a week at the Tremont while working on a presidential campaign during the depths of an Iowa winter. As a former Iowan who has lived in DC for 20 years, I was delighted to find such a modern inn with the best restaurant in town. I highly recommend the hotel, restaurant and cafe.

Was a nice quaint place in small Marshall Town home of the Fisher Valves

I've had dinner a couple times over a couple years, and the service & food are exceptional. This last visit I started with a lobster bisque, very smooth and balanced flavor, a nice start to a meal. Provided with the meal is artisan bread, flavorful and serve with olive oil, balsamic vinegar & cracked pepper. The main dish was a special that night...a small portion of baked(?) fresh (never frozen) wild caught salmon that just melted in my mouth like whipped butter...it was heaven. Paired with that were two jumbo scallops seared and topped with a light sirracha berry Demi glaze plus a light house pilaf and lightly steamed fresh vegetables (pea pods, asparagus, mushroom) that retained the perfect crunch. Dessert was a salted caramel cake that provided a nice light end to the meal along with a splendid shot of espresso. I will continue to patronize them whenever I'm in town.

This hotel is unassuming, we came in from Denver and had no idea what to expect. Large rooms, free Wifi, private bathrooms, a common area kitchen, and a very friendly inn keeper makes this a four star yelp review in my book.

Excellent restaurant and "hotel" combination. As some others commented, the food is excellent, particularly the dinner fare, and the rooms are very nicely appointed. I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and chose not to this time. A mistake I will not repeat next time I'm in town.

Tremont on Main is fabulous! We stopped in, almost at closing time, and they could not have been any more welcoming. The server explained their evening specials, got our drinks, answered our questions, gave us the right amount of time to peruse the menu- all in a professional, friendly manner. The owner or manager stopped by and chatted for a few minutes. They made substitutions for my gluten free diet with no problem. Then the food arrived and it was excellent! We had a cold apple soup, baked Brie cheese with crustini and apple slices and their Combo Del Mar (mussels, shrimp, and scallops). It was such a delight to find a restaurant of this fine caliber in Marshalltown. I will be sure to tell my friends it is certainly worth a drive!
