They have very good froyo! So many flavors, so many toppings, and I love it! The seats are sooo comfortable and 3 TVs are incredible! Sometimes they only have big cups so they make you get more ice cream so they get more money (they go by weight) so I think that's not as good. I also like their t-shirts...

Truly, it is a wondrous day when you live the actual experience of the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover." Well, ladies and gentlemen, for me today was that day. For I traveled to Stevie C's on this historic day and partook of their pizza. Now, I know what you're thinking. Bar pizza? How good could it be? Well, I have news for you: Life Changing. We are the meat lovers pizza, and... It. Was. Amazing. The staff was very attentive and friendly as well. I was pleasantly surprised, and I believe that you, dear Yelp reader, will be as well. Open your heart. Let Stevie C's in.
Typical small town bar. Clean, service times have been consistently short, and has decent pizza. The bbq one is really good! Also the patio is pretty cool! I usually order beer so I can't really speak for their mixed drinks. Although I did try the Vegas bomb and it was pretty good. If you are looking for a bar that's more relaxed than downtown, Stevie C's is a solid choice.

Fortune Garden in Grimes has excellent Chinese food. It looked like they do a lot of takeout orders, and there was only one waitress trying to serve the whole restaurant. The food was great, so as long as I am not in a hurry, I will definitely be back! And get an order of crab rangoons...they were delicious.
Seriously, one of my favorite places to eat ever!! I don't know what it is, but everyone in my family loves the food. We almost all live out of state, but when we make it back to visit, we have lunch at least a few times there. My favorite dish is the Garlic Chicken (but with no water chestnuts) and steamed rice, crab rangoon, and egg drop soup. And it is only $5 (at least, last year it was). Before that, it was Cashew Chicken, but it has more vegetables. They give a lot of food, and we have always had a good experience. Make sure to get an extra order of crab rangoons (or egg rolls), they are amazing!! Wish we had a place this good out in California!! The service isn't always very fast, but it's never been a problem. I will have to have my siblings post too because they all love it, and we want to make sure it stays in business!
Very fast service and good quality food, would definitely eat here again. Does an amazing amount of takeout business judging by our visit.

Wanted something quick that was nearby and saw this was pretty well rated on Yelp. We sat out on the back patio which was a nice setting on a beautiful day. I ordered the Mustang Chips for an appetizer and the Black and Bleu burger for my entree. Both were good- nothing out of the ordinary but good food that you would expect from an American Grill. I would go back again.
Great and friendly owner. Very personable and gives attention to his customers. Had a burger expecting great things. Bun, bacon and fries were good. BBQ sauce was good. They even got mozzarella cheese for me. Unfortunately, the meat itself was mediocre and wasn't really cooked to order either. Was a plain jane grey patty with no real flavor in it. I still plan to go back. Especially to try breakfast. Just hope the owner and cook consider improving their beef patty. I don't doubt using meat from the local Fareway would have a dramatic improvement.
Always great food and personable service. A real asset to downtown Grimes. Personifies the friendly spirit of Grimes.

An updated store front, that serves breakfast, lunch and brunch and has live music weekend nights. My honey and I just got back from a nice breakfast at the Kickback. Close enough to walk to if you live in town and some street parking (use the back parking while construction completes this Summer on Main Street). If you just want a quick bite to eat of a pastry and coffee, they have it here. We enjoyed a freshly made biscuits and gravy and the Spa eggs (3 egg whites, tomatoes, spinach and goat cheese) and everything tasted great. It was a steady morning for the servers, but a nice variety of people watching on a relaxing morning. The space reminds me of an old country store you would find on Little House on the Prairie, with modern updates. If you feel like going somewhere, but not too far into town, this is a nice spot to grab a drink and "kick back". Next time I think we will try the bloody mary's we saw the table behind us order too.

Three of us (Golf buddies) had the pleasure of dining here after an enthusiastic recommendation from a golf course employee. Two of us are true foodies, we cook a lot and we dine out extensively (Chicago is our mecca)! I don't know if the food is always this good or we hit them on one of their better nights, but the food was spot on! My companions had the rib eye and I had the smoked prime rib. Both were fantastic! We all ordered medium rare which will generally result in a .333 to .666 batting average. These cooks hit it out of the park! The meat was perfect and the house green beans to die for (Simple, but full of flavor). We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and were quite taken back by the preparation and presentation. It was delicious. OH! And an added bonus, no corking fee for the first bottle! That's class! We will definitely return when in the area again.
My wife and I have dined there often and have had nothing but great food and great service. There brunch is one of the best in the Des Moines metro, but it can be quite busy at times. I would definitely recommend a reservation for their brunch.
It had been a few years since we've visited The Radish. My husband & I shared an almond encrusted chicken salad with the delicious homemade dressings & cannelloni. Both dishes were great! I think I could eat the salad daily. You should check this place out. The all-you-can-eat fried chicken smelled & looked great. Maybe next time.

Basic American menu: chicken, steaks, sandwiches, fried fish, nightly specials, and a couple of pastas. The inside is dated and it never fails there is at least one waitress sitting a couple tables behind the counter taking her break each time we come- seems a little rude when you see someone just sitting there but not able to help you ( maybe staff should "break" elsewhere. The free potato soup is a plus and with a little added salt, our family loves it; there is a reason they sell it up to the gallon size. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was homemade large and juicy. I loved how I knew it was fresh real chicken. My little one get the chicken strips, fries, peaches, and a scoop of ice cream which is a lot for a three year old- good value. It is a good place for a simple American meal, I wouldn't come frequently but it offers good quick meal close to our home.
I have been driving by this place for years, but finally decided to give it a try when I purchased a Groupon for it. The inside looks clean but small towny, lots of pictures of deer on 80s looking wood paneling wall. I asked how long the restaurant has been around for and the waitress told me 34 years. The main customers seem to be older people and families. The atmosphere for a Saturday was relaxed and roomy. The wait staff was friendly, but the food took a while to come out. The food is unapologetic classic american. I got the prime rib and my girlfriend got fried chicken. Before the meals come out, you get a free giant bowl of potato soup and a little loaf of warm bread, both of which were so so. The main dishes were also pretty ok but not flippin amazing. Overall, the quality of the food seems to be ok, but the dishes themselves are boring, but I don't fault The Corn Patch for that. The Corn Patch isn't trying to be the latest flash in the pants tapa/fusion/vegan eatery, they know they are old-time American and they embrace it. Although, I almost never have any desire to eat food so boring when I go out to eat, but on a rare occasion I do. Last night was one of those nights. The only thing I really didn't like about this place was the cocktail I ordered because it was on special. It was god awful.
You're hungry when you walk in cause you won't be when you leave. We had a hankering for sandwiches tonight. Sat right away again on a Friday evening. Orders in right away and the waitress was great. An order of fried pickles were delicious. The complimentary soup filled up everyone but i saved room. I got the hamburger with a side of cottage cheese. I even slipped a fried pickle on it and filled up. Everyone was happy all around and the groupons were handy. The interior is very homey on the dining side. On the other side hidden is a bar and a few video games. We rolled out with food in boxes and full bellies.

Quick stop here on our way back from Camp Dodge last week. I haven't had a "loose meat sandwich" in years and this tasted delicious. At around 3 pm the place was empty, but it was clean and our food didn't take too long to come out hot. The only negative was the older man who came out to take our order (I got the feeling he was the owner) looked like we interupted him from something more important. I apologized that I was not ready to order yet and needed some time to look up at the menu board. He said OK, but he stood there staring at me until I ordered. I would pick this over a regular hamburger, for a quick stop.

First off, this review is only for their breakfast service, and only the drive thru portion. I eat here maybe 2 times a month. I don't usually plan on eating here for breakfast, it just happens on the mornings that I hit the snooze one too many times and sure as hell don't have time to eat anything at home. So, I have to multitask to make up lost time: driving and eating. I totally agree the earlier reviews about the initial bad launch. When I first used to come here every now and then I'd ask for a whopper. Yeah, I want a whopper every now and then for breakfast, don't judge me damn it. When I used to ask for a whopper, the original drive thru guy used to pause for a moment and then come up with a lie as to why he couldn't make one. That SOB lied to me like 4 times. I stopped going there. Ok, then I came back. Since I came back, they have replaced the original morning drive thru guy with a SUPER nice guy. An older fella, he is super polite and calls you sir (or ma'am if you are a female, but I can only assume) about 10 times. He will also make me a Whopper if I ask for one, so I have that going for me, which is nice. My main problem with this place, and I'd guess it's a problem with all BKs, is the morning food prices. If you get a morning meal it's like 6 bucks and some change, whereas Mcdonalds is under 5. I just don't feel that at this time breakfast at a fast food place should break 6 bucks.
Update after a year. No real change. Service still really slow. They have 2 drive thru panels, but what's the point? They never have the ability to take 2 orders at once anyway. The staff seems nice, but their training must be poor. And likely always short on people. If you must come here, just go inside and keep your order really short and simple. Otherwise, drive to another location. You'll spend the same amount of gas and time either way.
I have been through the drive through and inside to eat. No matter what time of day you go it's extremely slow service and sub par food. Wait time is ridiculous.
