If you want good home style cooking at a very reasonable price, this is the place to go! Three of us ate for less than $20. My hot beef sandwich came with mashed potatoes. The beef was tender and the gravy was possibly the best beef gravy I have ever had. Another in our group ordered the special, goulash with mashed potatoes, corn, and a roll. He said it was delicious. The third in our group got a tenderloin that looked good and a piece of pie. She said they had the best pies and from the looks of the tables around us that all ordered pie, I am guessing she is right. Sadly I didn't have room to try any. Service is great. Very small town, everyone knows everyone service. They had homemade dog treats at the register. $3 for a Ziploc baggie full of treats. The pug acts like they are puppy crack. If you like home style food, you won't be disappointed stopping here and neither will your dog.

Best tenderloin I have ever had and I have had more than my share. Fun counter staff and very talkative! Fun experience.
Marvelous tenderloin and fries. Needed a bit of seasoning, lots of tenderloin, either breaded or plain. Worthy of praise.
Greasy Spoon dining at its best. Typical fare. Grilled chicken sandwich was great, cucumber salad was a treat instead of fries. Fun atmosphere.

An All American family diner. No frills, just tasty food at a reasonable price. They make very tasty loose ground beef sandwiches, hamburgers, tenderloin sandwiches, soups, and other tasty goodnesss. Wonderful home cooked pies. Not much seating, but this EAT-AT-THE-COUNTER diner is an awesome experience of traditional Americana that is so hard to come by except in small towns like this. A real treat. Staff is friendly, and the locals are too. So, pull up a stool around the counter and order up your favorite diner food and enjoy. Great prices. Call ahead for take out or eat in at the counter.

I love their Sesame Chicken! Probably the best item they server in my opinion. Egg rolls and pot stickers are good too. However, I find it odd that they often don't understand standard names known at every Chinese Restaurant I've every been too - like pot stickers. Here, they are only known as 'fried dumplings'. True, that is what they are, but to not know what 'pot stickers' are.... Anyway, good casual dining at reasonable prices. They have a outdoor patio which is nice during the summer. Check out the Rickshaw on the patio.
I ordered the lunch special Kung pao chicken with a soup. They first brought me out the fried won tons and water I ordered. When I got my kung pao chicken which isn't hot at all. When I first looked at the plate is was puddled with teriyaki sauce......yes puddled, I literally filled up 3/4 of the bowl of soup I ate. The fried rice was under cooked and the water was the best thing I ordered. The restrooms were old and dirty and looked like they haven't been clean. Don't really recommend this place.
Take out is fast (10-15 minutes on a Friday!) and the staff wonderfully friendly.

I had a few meals at this Chandlers because I stayed at the comfort inn for a few nights and I can say this place overall is pretty good. It's more of a family restaurant for your after church meals. Outstanding service, good people, and you've gotta try to tortilla soup, and the brisket sandwich.
Gross. Over priced. Horrid waitress. She was a complete dingbat. Tea was soured. No one in our group enjoyed the food or service. Spent about $120 for 6 of us. Went on a Sunday around 1pm and there was only us and 2 other groups. I hate giving such a scathing review but honestly there wasn't anything good about our experience here. The sour cream was bad like rotten. The food came out cold. And it all had a freezer burnt taste to it. Definitely not fresh. The salad dressing and salad was warm. Just eww. I wouldn't recommend it to my enemy, ok ok I would probably recommended it to my enemy.
Bad bad food Bad service

I travel a lot for work and was tired of the big chain restaurants. Stopped here for dinner today and had the fried chicken. It was FANTASTIC. Skin was perfectly crisp and was incredibly juicy and flavorful. This will be my place of choice for dinner when in Fort Madison.
I am increaing my review to be 3 stars instead of 2 and this is all due to breakfast. While I do not find anything on their menue appealing for Lunch or Dinner, I do like their breakfast items. They do classic breakfast diner fare very well. On a recent visit, we split one of their HUGE Cinnamon Rolls. This delicious and decedent pastry was unforgetable. I highly recommend it. They do great breakfast skillets, wonderful eggs (any style), and fluffy pancakes.
Pecan waffle a la mode with whip cream and syrup. Yes, I just ate that for dinner at Fort Colony. No regrets; great tasty food that arrived quickly after order. Breakfast served all day and meals are all under $10. I docked a star because ambiance is a little too crafty for me but other than that great experience!

We had a fun night at Captain Kirk's....drinks, burgers, tenderloin, sandwiches. All tasty, and served with a smile. My cousins love "Crappy Beer Night" at Captain Kirk's, where you can get crappy beer for a buck.

I usually grade a Hardees on cleanliness, friendliness of staff, and accuracy of order. I have been here twice and both times, they were accurate, and the staff was always friendly. The tables and the counter were all clean and they seemed to be running a clean operation in back, which is a huge thing to me. Overall three stars for a chain joint that is following the company standards.
