Family Table Restaurant - this restaurant has been around for years and years, as an A&W, and a few other things prior to that. In 1973, the current owners (isn't that nice to hear, and it's 2012!), bought the place, and named it the Family Table. It's good food, at good prices.They are open 6am to 8pm daily, and prices are very good, with lots of food. Interior - close quarters, with lots of tables! I'm not sure how many they can hold, but it's quite a few. Considering this is a college town (Luther College), feeding lots of people, whether it's students, or parents/family visiting for Luther's Parents' Weekend, or Homecoming, whatever, the table space is a must! Oh, did I mention that it's clean too! Menu - Breakfast, sandwiches, dinner. We were there for breakfast. My nephew had the Texas Bill's Pancake Meal - two large buttermilk pancakes, hash browns, and choice of bacon,sausage, or ham. It was quite a bit of food, and for a 16 year old - it fit the bill. Price $5.79 My husband had the Two x Four (two by four) - two eggs, two pancakes, two strips of bacon, and two sausage, also very delicious. Price $5.79 I had the All American - two eggs, toast, hash browns, and bacon, no complaints here. Price $5.49. My niece (the one who is attending Luther College - in her second year), as well as my sister, both built their own omelets. Their basic cheese omelet is $5.49, and each additional item is 55 cents each. My brother-in-law had the pancakes. No complaints from anyone. Service - very good, not in your face. The staff works very hard, on their feet all the time, and they have to be, as the place is always crowded. That alone, should tell you something. Good food, good prices, great service, clean, quaint, small town where "everyone knows your name." You CAN'T beat that! We will go back to the Family Table Restaurant, the next time we are in Decorah, Iowa, visiting our niece @ Luther College. Thanks!

5-Stars, classic diner breakfast. Busy, fast service. Breakfast was great. Inexpensive.

"Nothing fancy, just good food!" ...what a perfect slogan for this yummy place. I got the Messy Chicken (mashed potatoes topped with gravy, cheddar cheese, and sliced chicken strips) for $4.49. I'm a student at Luther College and it fit right in with my budget. It was just the home-cooked meal I wanted.
