I love Jimmy John's! We eat here every time we are in the area. It has lovely staff that are very kind and friendly. Great sandwiches and chips. I think that Jimmy Chips are better than Lays! I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quick bite to eat!

Wine Bar and Art Gallery

This bar is great. Great wine and beer. We have been coming here every year on our vacation for 10 years!
I came here for a solo exhibition so the tables were cleared out, but what a nice clean area to display an artist's works! It's not a very large venue but I feel it was very good use of space. The lighting was perfect, and the owner was very cordial. She let us run a small tab as we snacked on appetizers that were catered in. I had a glass of the house malbec that was very delightful and inexpensive ($5.00). I would highly recommend this location for other artists and patrons.
The Wine Bar and Art Gallery is cute little space that is located right next to David Thoreson's Blue Water Studios. In fact, these businesses are connected inside. And with so much good art popping up within the Iowa Great Lakes Region, why not have a comfortable wine bar experience as well? The space itself is a bit on the small side and there is some limited outdoor seats available. Inside is lots of art including representation from Bogenrief studios and other hand-blown glass, some interesting wall art, pottery, and jewelry. On the wine side, things are unpretentious, friendly, fun, and sometimes with a side of live entertainment during those warm summer evenings. The Henry David Thoreau quote on the front door reads, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you have imagined." So why not do so at the Wine Bar and Art Gallery with good art, good wine and good friends?

Fabulous prime rib prepared perfectly as ordered! The rigatoni and pork chop looks amazing as well. Oh and we had some delicious sticky toffee pudding and apple tart too. Always great service & fresh food. Thank you Julie.
Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor both covered and uncovered. Indoors, tables are covered in white tablecloths and napkins are white cloth. Tables aren't crammed together, good spacing. A good, wide view of the lake. The water they brought to the table was infused with lemon. I ordered unsweetened brewed iced tea. I'm used to getting your basic black tea when I order this. This one had some slight undertone of raspberry and/or lemon. Not strongly, just not what I want. I let the waitress know that she could just take it away, it wasn't what I liked. She offered to bring me a second glass to see if it was better. I hesitated and she said that she would just bring it. When she brought it, she said to see what I thought, but that they wouldn't charge me for it either way. It was the same taste. We ordered a Maxburger to split, well done. It came with your choice of two toppings (3 cheeses, bacon, or mushrooms). We chose swiss cheese and sauteed mushrooms. It also came with soup, coleslaw, chips or fries. We chose fries. The burger was great, with good flavor in the cheese. A well-balanced combination. The fries had a light coating and good seasoning. We enjoyed them. We arrived a little after noon on a Wednesday in the last week of the season. So a slower time of the year. There were never very many there, but business picked up as we were there. Service was slower than some places, but the resort atmosphere means you usually aren't on a deadline and so you don't mind the pace. The waitress showed us the dessert tray. When we decided not to order, the waitress said, "No problem. It was my pleasure to show you the dessert tray." Very classy!
Always a good choice for a special meal in Okoboji. Fine dining , great setting.

I'm from Southern California, and I loved this food. I am used to slightly more authentic Mexican food, but this was still delicious. I loved their homemade salsas, and the owner was adorable.
I am really surprised by the poor reviews as this is an excellent Mexican restaurant. Coming from Texas and having spent time in Mexico the food here is very authentic. The fish tacos were great. The taco meat tastes like a higher quality hamburger, not the cheap stuff. Prices are good and you get an ample amount of food. My only ding: salsa not hot enough...but it is Iowa, so I'm sure they are tempering it a bit due to the region. We have eaten there three times and will be back.
Came here for lunch during my last full day in the Great Lakes region along with my friend. Yes, service errs a bit on the slow side, hence the 3 star rating instead of a 4 star rating. Other than that, I had a fine time here. Even if the service was a little slow, the hospitality we had received from the staff was top-notch. I believe the owner of the restaurant was also going around, asking if everybody was enjoying their time there, and she was an absolute sweetheart. I had their quesadilla roja platter along with some sort of small dish on the side that was also wrapped up in a tortilla and smothered in red sauce and cheese. My friend had their chicken mole, which she had fond memories of having when she was growing up in the region. The food portions were humongous and all in all, the food actually tasted pretty good. It may not be very authentic Mexican food, but that doesn't always make food taste good or bad to me. What's more important, to me, is how the dish comes together in the end, and in this case, the flavors all came together well enough for me. Though, I will say, since this is Mexican fare, it's a bit on the heavy side. Just something to keep in mind ;)

Koffee Kup Kafe

Reviews:
Small, but so delicious! We came here two days in a row for breakfast and it was incredible! The best coffee, so smooth and delicious! This is a family run business and service can be a touch slow because there were only two waitresses in the whole building covering about 15 tables each it seems... But they did a phenomenal job! This place is inexpensive but huge portions. Both the caramel rolls and the cinnamon rolls are amazing! I very much enjoyed the cheesy hash browns and eggs... I would come back here in a heartbeat and so would all of my friends. Can't complain about anything! For the six of us the bill was about $55 and worth every penny. Don't miss this place!
Excellent breakfast stop!!! The food is consistently excellent and the service matches the quality of the food! Whether it's tourist season or the dead of winter koffee kup always puts their best foot forward to make sure that you have a great dining experience!
I absolutely love this little joint. I've lived at the Lakes for awhile and have watched plenty of Ma and Pa shops come and go, but this one is definitely meant to stay. Incredibly friendly environment and wonderful food. Prices are incredibly reasonable considering the prices down the road at Perkins or any other breakfast place in the Lakes. I tend to go there on the weekends during the fall and winter. The summers are quite crazy around here and Koffee Kup can become very filled up, but it is worth the wait! (I'm not a huge crowd person though). Anyway, I enjoy the staff, environment, and the food. Why not give it a try?

The food is good but is the same quality as another restaurant called Dry Dock that has better service and a better view. If you are looking for a good breakfast at the lake, I would suggest Dry Dock over The Hut.
Hmmm some bad service reviews? I went there twice this weekend and very good service and food both times. They advertise a 1/3 lb burger, it was bigger than that and very good. Ruben sandwich was delicious. I ordered wings, they were huge and very good! Ordered the fries "extra crispy" and they were perfect! Nice deck with very comfortable chairs. Only bad thing is I wish I would have tried The Hut last year! I will be back!
This location has had many names and owners over the years which were pretty good and this one was pretty much in line with my expectations. I had breakfast with my sister-in-law and decided on the crabcake eggs benedict and coffee. This intrigued me as I have never had this particular combo. I was advised that it was a very large portion and that I may be fine with a half plate. I was thrilled that a half plate could be had and I must say it was plenty. The crabcake was good, the egg was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was the classic holandaise. The hash browns were COVERED in cheese (yay!). Truly I was delighted with the food. We were able to sit outside on the deck portion of the restaurant at a high top in perfect weather. Our waitress could have been a tad more attentive as I like to have my coffee refilled or warmed up a few times during my meal vs. just once or twice. Regardless, I was happy and would recommend to others to have breakfast here.

It's good to know that within a resort area full of nice restaurants and drinking establishments that there's a few dive bars around here and there. After all, the locals need to drink and get away from the tourists somehow! Pair-A-Dice is located right on US-71 and has the right number of bikes and weathered cars to confirm its street cred. The only thing that might be missing is an outdoor taco truck to supplement the indoor refreshments. My parents love exploring these type of places. We still share a good laugh about the time we walked in and the bar keep immediately yelled out at me - What do ya want? I meekly ordered a beer and decided to keep my back to wall.

This Godfather's is just across the street from the Arnold's Park Amusement Complex and shares the parking lot with a bar that I still refer to as Mother Natures. The food here is basically what you would expect. In other words, I ate, I drank, I left happy, but forgot about the entire experience right when I walked out the door. I also remember this place from the last time I was here with a few old Estherville friends. We were all in town for our 30th High School reunion and in different places in our lives. I was depressed over a family matter, Bob 1 was happy busy with his Vet practice and kids, and Bob 2 was still trying to hard to impress everyone on how well had done professionally. For example, who else do you know brings house remodeling blue prints to the restaurant to show off to his friends? But that's the great thing about life long friendships, they grow stronger despite our differences. This Chapter of our ongoing "deal" was sealed on this Godfather's outdoor deck as we carried on.

Bagels in Okoboji? Who knew! We Midwest folks also have a special name for Lox - Ludefisk. Unfortunately, the cream cheese can't quite kill that particular taste. The Bagels here are decent enough and while you're here there's Blue Bunny Ice Cream on one side of the room and Salt Water Taffy and Fudge (from Sweet Memories) on the other end. Add the Nutty Bar Stand next door and the resulting sugar rush can be most impressive.
