Leaning Tower of Pizza Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Came back to Leaning Tower after a poor previous experience. This time we had a large "Piper" (pepperoni & banana peppers) for $20 which tasted like a cheap frozen pizza except the cheese and crust were overcooked. Crust was too thin and the pepperonis were few and far between. At least the beer was cold. Would not go back for pizza. Better off with Gusto or Pagliais.

We live in Ankeny and come here every Friday. The wait staff is excellent making you feel right at home, it is a small place and sometimes there is a wait but it is totally worth it.

Tasty pizza, slightly overpriced though. Decent beverage options. Service is great. Seating is limited, so there may be a wait on weekend evenings.

Pizza here is good. Service is excellent. However, the place is very small with limited seating. It feels cramped. And if you find yourself having to wait for a table, there really isn't much of a space for patrons to wait. Basically, everyone just crowds around the entrance and waits for a table. You feel like you are sitting on top of one another. But, the location is in a great area and it does feel cozy if you like that sort of thing. Worth giving it a try!

If you are looking for a place to enjoy a private or romantic chat with your loved one, don't attend when all booths are full. The waitstaff will place you in a middle table that is literally six inches apart from a neighboring table that is to the side of you. It feels like you are imposing on the strangers next to you who likewise probably feel the same way about you. The pizza is not that great. The sauce is way too spicy. The crust is tasteless. Also, everything is overpriced. Godfathers and Pizza Ranch have much better tasting pies, and aren't nearly as expensive. The waitstaff is not very attentive. I never had my drink refilled the one time I attended, even though I was seated for nearly 45 minutes. When I asked for the bill and a box, it took forever for the waitress to respond, so I got up and went to the kitchen to pay in order to expedite things. I really wanted to like this place. But it unfortunately failed me.

Why would you go to a boring chain restaurant when you could get yummy, affordable pizza at Leaning Tower? They have thin-crust pizzas with a huge variety of toppings (saurkraut, celery!?), as well as a few pasta dishes and sandwiches. They serve mini pizzas for 1 which is great when you go with a big group that can't agree on toppings. Miller lite on tap and lots of bottled beer choices. Great for families and a casual night out. Friendly staff and a TV to watch the game. Take out too!

Tasty pizza...chewey cheese and little sauce which I thought was positive. $15 for a large pepperoni is a little pricey when Papa Johns is bigger and on deal for $10. Will get it again though.

We had dinner here last night. I Had a medium pizza with sausage and black olive and my wife had a salad, both were EXCELLENT. Waitress was GREAT!

The place is small but cozy. Friendly service, and the pizza is amazing I don't normally like thin crust but this thin crust was delicious. The sausage they use is better than any sausage I've had on a pizza, it doesn't taste like frozen sausage. I recommend the Harrington the Bubby and the taco. Treat yourself and get the bread bites you won't regret it. And get there early.

We ordered the Harrington and some cheese bread, carry out. 30 minutes for pickup pizza was hot and fresh. Crust was excellent, spicy Italian sausage, sauce was missing something, not terrible but could use a tweak... Overall worthwhile and I definitely want to try out some of their other options. Location is definitely a plus, I'm glad this is here... Service beats Fongs for certain.

We went hear after several recommendations. I guess I do not understand the rave reviews. The crust tasted like a frozen pizza. It was thin and slightly watery and soggy under the toppings. Toppings were ok, somewhat fresh tasting, but they couldn't save the pizza. Sort of like someone piled extra topping onto a frozen store bought pizza. Over all kind of bland, also. Service was ok but slow. Restaurant is small, dated, cozy.

I don't come to this area of Ankeny often, but every time I do I enjoy the atmosphere. These couple of blocks in the heart of Ankeny gives that small town feel and look to visitors, it kind of reminds me of Valley Junction. Anyways, I've been wanting to trying this place for a while and finally got the opportunity to, lets see how they do. The restaurant itself is pretty small, you walk in and seat yourself to one of not so many tables. The server was very quick to provide us with menus and take our drink orders. It wasn't a busy night when we went, there were only a few other customers there. I have a feeling during peak hours/days this place would be completely packed (due to minimum seating available). We briefly looked at the menu and decided to get an order of their homemade onion rings and a small Harrington pizza (Italian sausage, pepperoni, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses and zesty sauce). The wait was not long for the food. The onion rings were okay, I was not disappointed, but I probably won't get them again. The pizza was very good! The flavors and texture was excellent. One thing I noticed with the pizza was, I'm not sure if they pre-make the pizza and freeze them then cook them or what, because it comes on a cardboard bottom like a frozen pizza. Regardless, the pizza is very good and a small is enough to feed 2! I would definitely return to try their other pizzas and menu items!

Always a treat when we get to Ankeny. Love the crust, great topping selection, awesome onion rings, and cold beer! Fun "small pizza joint" atmosphere. LOCALLY OWNED! We'll be back!

Always a great place to eat. Had their bread bites tonight for the first time and they were very yummy!!

We order carry-out pizza from here about once a month. It's not a traditional brick-over pizza shop, but it's the closest taste to it you will find. The sauce is great, and most of the time you'll get the burnt/charred crust that gives the pizza a little extra "umph". Plus, with it being locally owned, you can feel good about the extra couple dollars you will spend compared to the "big boys".

This place is always packed. The pizza is pretty good. Appetizers need some work.
