The only thing cheesy about this place is its atmosphere. Fake island style decorations. The burger..... a step below "OK". Hardly any taste, it was actually kind of weird. The only saving grace is that the (disappointingly a la carte) fries & onion rings were good. Still not good enough to rate this waste of time place more than 1 star. Oh yeah, and the waitress sucked. It's like she knew the burgers weren't going to be any good.

I had breakfast here three or four times last week, one lunch, and one dinner. It is right next to the Marriot where we stayed. The price and proximity were major factors. I didn't really want to go here the first time since it was in a shopping plaza and looked like a 'cheesy' chain. I was pleasently surprised by the quality of the breakfasts. I usually had the Macadamian nut pancakes and two poached eggs with a half of a papaya and some coffee. It was delicious and under half the price of the buffet at the resort where we were staying. I did try the Hawaian cheese burger which was great and the chicken salad sandwich for my meal on the way to the airport and both were great too. They have another restaurant on Maui and one or two on Oahu. They also have one at The Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas and one in Key West FL. I never noticed the one at PH. I will have to try it in a couple weeks and report back. I need to lay off the buffets after all the food I had in Hawaii. Maybe I will just eat Papaya and poached eggs when I am in Vegas next week......... yeah.....

This joint is well below average and pricey for what you get. The food was lackluster at best. Skip this joint, it's just not worth it.

Out of ideas at this point and didn't want to drive anywhere after a 5-hour flight from SFO. Bell staff at Makena Beach Resort was kind enough to give us a lift to the Mall. Walked to the end of the Mall. Didn't want Tommy Bahama's or Longhi's so we settled for Cheeseburger in Paradise. Had the sliders. It was okay. Not hot enough for me temperature wise. The place used to have a view of the beach but they built up a bunch of condos so you get to look at somebody's retaining wall. Yay!

They are nice here, but it's kind of dirty. A good place for happy hour maybe. Drinks are cheap, but you'll need a few to get buzzed.

Shops at Wailea is a nice place to walk and kill time and that's where some nice restaurants have a good setting. Tommy Bahamas and Longhi's just to name a couple. We needed to eat a quick late lunch and return to the hotel for our airport ride so we decided on Cheeseburger in Paradise for something fast and hopefully not too bad. Well, the food was actually decent, not decent +, just decent but the service really started off rocky. We must have caught them between lunch and dinner siesta because the waitress was visibly upset with the hostess who sat us at her station. The waitress had a mini fit about having to serve another table so we waited a while before another waitress came by to take our order. We gold her were were ready to order food but she insisted that drinks come first and she would be back for our food orders. Food was just okay, nothing to write about, so I won't write anymore, no more, that's it, over.

It was not good- food, service, price for what we got. Tommy Bahama across the way had happier looking customers.

Okay well at least the burger is decent. But I just went to a place where the quality of meat was so much better and you get a bag of chips! Well this would have been one star more if hadn't been for that mean waitress. Today we asked if there were any specials, and she said in a rude tone "No!". Well there is nothing wrong with having no specials but her mannerisms were not welcoming. Rather it made us feel like it was too much to ask. She didn't even refill our cokes!!! If you are having a crappy day, go outside and kick one of those pigeons but don't take it out on me. Well at least that extra tip money that didn't go to her went to my delicious musubi. So yes, service sucks! Won't be back!!!

Neither my boyfriend nor I reallly liked this place. Went here because it was convenient and close to our hotel and didn't feel like driving anywhere. I got the coconut shrimp, which are suppose to be "lightly battered" yeah not so much. My boyfriend got the fish tacos and they were cold (including the fried fish) with not too much flavor. In addition, we sat at the bar because we didn't want to wait and the bartender allowed my bf's coke to run so dry that when we asked a different bartender for a refill, he refilled it with water! My water also ran dry. I mean our cups are right in front of their faces! Would never come here again unless maybe we would decide to try a burger, which might be a better experience.

My wife and I came here for lunch because it was close to the beach. Guacamole burger was nothing to write home about but very filling. Calamari was just ok. I recommend skipping this place and going to Mcdonalds

We were lured into this gimmicky place with the promise of live music, happy hour, and a thirst so great we could not walk any further. The happy hour menu is limited to mini cheeseburgers which were completely insignificant and did not live up to it's name or backstory (printed in menu). Our blended drinks were awfully sweet as well....to sweet for my taste. Amazingly enough, we really enjoyed the steak fries which was well seasoned and crispy as can be! But take my advice, there are wayyy better restaurants around the island where you can avoid the gimmicks and get some great island food.

Worst customer service & average food. It took us & people around us over 40 minutes to get our food and when we asked for stuff..never got it. I had to wall over to the bar and find the item myself.

While walking around the shops we spotted Cheeseburger Island's $5.99 Breakfast special. We decided to go there the following morning. Opened promptly at 8am with people waiting in line. The meat in the double stacked cheeseburger was well seasoned as well as the meat in the Moco Loco. Breakfast special was decent. Service good. Spicy Blood Mary was good, salt and pepper covered rim. Not bad overall

Besides the atmosphere, I can't really say anything good about this place. My brother ordered the cheeseburger and it was dry, over-cooked and not very flavorful. I ordered the Kalua pork sandwich (which was 1/3 the size of the menu picture) and the bread was soggy, the cabbage was wilted, the pork was lukewarm and the whole thing was drenched in mayo (I couldn't taste much else). It came with about seven sweet potato fries (no joke). Oh, and the domestic beers are around 12 dollars.

  • Susan L.

I would have given this place 3 stars but I'm kind of irked that the waitress gave me the more expensive shrimp + fries dish even though I asked for the one without fries. The food is your typical burger joint kind of place that keeps you feeling way too full all day

Cheeseburgers are hard to mess up. REALLY hard to mess up. So when I go to Cheeseburger In Paradi-- I mean Island Style and they give my entire family burgers which none of us enjoy, it makes one wonder what's going on in their heads. I used to have decent meals here when it was still Cheeseburger in Paradise. Not great meals but just decent meals. Now, I refuse to waste my time or money on this place or any of the other locations in the chain. They have dirty tables, birds flying around everywhere, and in my opinion, very lousy food. The service has always been respectful and quick which I appreciate but when the food isn't anything you want to eat, the restaurant is no good. I don't know if there are any other burger joints in the area but I would recommend that you visit those first.

On our last day of the hawaiian vacation we opted to check out this place in the waliea shops. In the appetizer course we got the onion rings and they are huge + tasty. The crust is very well done and fresh from the pan :). If you are onion rings fan these wont let you down. For the entree i had the spicy orgeta chicken sandwitch, chicken was juicy and tender. It comes on the cibata bread and size is pretty decent. My wife tried the garden burger and gave thumps up. so if you are near the area and want to try some fast food this can be dencent place.

Please, do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Places like Cheeseburger Island Style are the reason why we opted not to stay in big resort hotels in Wailea and stayed instead in the charming beach town of Paia. The food sucks big time. We were checking out Makena Beach one morning and we were on our way back to Paia and had to make a stop for breakfast. We decided to check out The Shops at Wailea and grab a bite to eat at Cheeseburger. The omelette looked and tasted like it was cooked in a microwave. The pineapple that came with the meal looked so tired and dried up. And the service was just awful.

My wife and I were drawn to this restaurant by a chalkboard stand by the front entrance offering happy hour specials (3pm to 6pm) for around $6. We were seated immediately as it was not crowded at all. We ordered two soft drinks and inquired about the happy hour food specials. Our waitress told us that we could not take advantage of the specials unless we were seated at the bar or at the bar overflow tables, so we asked to be moved. The waitress explained that the hostess was supposed to ask if we were interested in the happy hour specials, but she didn't. After we were moved, we sat for about 20 minutes waiting for our order to be taken. Everyone around us was being served. My wife tracked down a manager. He said that he was not sure what happened, but that he would take our order. As we began to give our order, a waitress came over and explained that she thought someone else was taking care of us because we had drinks. We ordered the mini cheeseburgers and the chili cheese nachos. Neither were very good, with the nachos being the better of the two. The salsa on top was good. The manager delivered our food and said "I don't know what to say other than your meal is on the house". How about "I'm sorry"? This was a Saturday night and there was a performer in the bar singing and playing guitar. That was about the nicest part of our experience. Our waitress apologized and said that she hoped that we would return because they have great desserts. I'll have to take her word for it because unfortunately I won't be back.

Pretty good burgers but not very many burger choices, which is interesting since they pride themselves on, well.......burgers. They give you the option of Kobe beef but they make you feel stupid for ordering it. Average service, crowded restaurant. Good for kids.

Okay, I didn't have a cheeseburger so I am rating on what I had. The grilled fish burger was da bomb!!! I love fish and had many fish burgers before and this is in the top 3. Free water with lime tasted fresh too. Maybe I was really hungry...hmm. Something nice to look at: waiters.

Good burger. Yummy onion rings. If at the mall, it is a good choice. Not as fun or lively as the Lahaina location.

I always take the level of expectation into consideration when reading other peoples' reviews. I've noticed a lot of "yelpers" pretty much live on this thing and love to critique in all ways possible. Here's a real review. We are staying at the Four Seasons in Wailea, and there aren't many dining options around. Thank heaven for this place. It has served as a lunch spot twice for us, and we are headed there for breakfast this morning. This place is CLEAN, the staff is SUPER friendly (although we are also friendly) and the The Kobe Babies' sliders are delicious! The fries are excellent and the setting is great. I don't know how you can say this place is dirty when it is mainly set outside. Do you expect perfection? For the crazy amount of birds, I did not see any droppings anywhere. No bugs, no dust, just friendly people and a quick tasty meal.

U only come to maui maybe once in a lifetime...dont waste ur time here in this place. I got the calamari, u think its hawaii rite they would at least be good at makinf that...so wrong. I can get better calamri in a shitty college town restaurant than this. Same as other foodz.

Horrible! The service was decent, except for the drinks not being refilled. The burger was the worst I've had! Enough said!

There aren't too many eateries at this particular shopping center and a burger sounded tasty so we decided to give them a try. The type of burgers they have a little too "wet" for my tastes. The fries and fried calamari were decent though. Lotsa birds and bugs flying around but that's what you get in Maui since lots of places offer an open type seating with no walls or windows to block the elements. The local Blonde Beer is excellent and is highly recommended if you prefer those types of ales. Pricey here, but what isn't in Maui?

    (2)
  • J S.

Reasonably priced with decent food. Everything is extra including fries with a burger or sandwich. Breakfast is a bit over priced ($10/meal) but good for Maui...I guess.

    (3)
  • Chris Z.

This place gets 2 stars only because of their location. The food was mediocre at best. Regarding the burgers themselves I have one word "filler" and lots of it... We also had the tuna salad sandwich which was to our surprise dry and without flavor. I've never had to put ketchup on a tuna salad sandwich but for this case it needed it.

  • Yehoy L.

A good place for breakfast and lunch, but it can be a hit or miss at times. Breakfast is great when they make it fresh, as the pancakes are warm and fluffy and are loaded with flavor. The Mac Nut pancakes are quite good, and with the right amount of coconut syrup, are exceptional. Their burgers aren't bad either. in fact they have quite a selection of them. Nothing really separates them apart from any other burger joint like Chilis or TGIF. It's good for a reasonably priced breakfast or lunch as the Wailea mall it's in, is not exactly the cheapest place on the island.

  • Marisa M.

Overpriced grossness. We went their twice, the second time to give them one last chance. Everything was incredibly greasy. The service was awful, and the server gave us attitude! Best thing about this place is the interior decor and location. Pass!

  • Randy H.

While staying at the nearby Marriott Resort, we ate here for dinner and came back the next day for breakfast. Enjoyed the island theme and tropically influenced selections. Had a burger which was better than average and macadamia nut pancakes that were terrific. Service was fine and the location ideal for us (walking distance). I'd definitely go again if I was in the area, but it's not a "destination" in and of itself.

This has to be the worst place I've been on Maui during our one week trip. We only ordered two bar drinks, which we got in 10 minutes, but the buffalo wings took over 40 minutes! Meanwhile, we were watching the waitress take numerous orders from other tables but the also didn't get their hamburger and fries for about 30 minutes! At the end, the wings weren't even good; they taste like the ones store bought and microwaved at home. The only reason why they're getting business is because their menu seemed relatively economical comparied to Longhi's next door or Chris Ruth's in the same plaza. Did I also mention that the birds fly around and pick up whatever customers drop on the floor? We have pigeons in the bay area, and Maui has their state bird picking up food scraps.

  • Rachel K.

This place had relatively low prices for Hawaii, but that's because the food isn't great. It's essentially like going to some mediocre chain burger place on the Mainland, except slightly pricier. Two of us had salads. Two of us had burgers. No one complained, but no one raved. This is definitely a good place for families.

I got food poisoning from the coconut shrimp dinner. Up all night, still have the shakes. Called the restaurant this a.m., spoke with the manager, told him he should be aware of the problem and look into it. I NEVER get sick -- cast iron stomach, haven't thrown up in over 15 years. The manager didn't take responsibility, put me on hold, came back and said he had served 22 coconut shrimp meals yesterday and no one else had called. You will not feel like you are in paradise after eating at this restaurant. Manager refused to consider crediting 1/2 of our dinner tab. Extraordinarily bad customer service. Trust me, avoid this kitchen unless you want to spend your vacation hunched over the porcelain throne.

The sun was bright, we were enjoying our first trip to Maui together, and we avoided this place like the plague the whole time, yet there was a buzz about it that made it interesting enough that we decided to stop and check out the scene on one of our last days. We totally could have done without it. This visit did take place a while ago, and we could be off now and I hope we are, but hear me out...we went for brunch and it was just sad. SAD. The staff looked bored out of their minds and the shuffle to and from the kitchen was just an annoyance, and it wasn't too long before it started to rub off on us. People, you can't just sprinkle macadamia nuts on something and call it "hawaii style." No! What restaurant still serves pancake syrup in little packets? They did. What Denny's did you steal those from? Yuck! And the food was underwhelming. As a daily rice eater, we noticed that the Loco Moco's rice was scraped from the bottom of the rice cooker! Who the hell does that? Do you hate us? That's just insulting. We left here kicking ourselves that we didn't just go to Longhi's next door where we always enjoyed our food. Like I said, I hope things have changed, and that it's not a negative experience for anyone curious to wonder what the buzz is on that side. It has such a potential to be a cool place, but it really wasn't that way for us.

  • steve b.

The good news is that's if it's a hamburger you want after eating fish for a week that's what they have. The bad news is that this feels like a local place that's started expanding and has lost control of food quality. The Calamari appetizers were so deep fried we were debating throughout the meal whether we were eating onion rings or calamari - it tasted like it came from an industrial kitchen. The burgers themselves weren't that great either. With all the toppings it was hard to taste the beef, and I could be wrong, but this sure tasted like frozen and reheated patties. Not horrible, just not worth going here unless you're already in the mall.

The food is good. The onion rings are REALLY good. The burgers are good. They might need an order detector (you know like a metal detector but for food orders) because our order was lost somehow in the abyss and part of it was never found. The manager comped our dinner and drinks after I had a public fit (which I do not do normally). We did have to reorder and pay for a cheeseburger for our son even though his burger that he originally ordered was never found in that abyss I was just talking about. Maybe it ended up at Laura H's table instead? The manager refused to reorder the original burger and put it on the comped meal - which is fine no one was expecting him to comp that but I find it disturbing that a restaurant manager of such a high traffic tourist spot would find it okay to feed him onion rings instead of, well, a MEAL? My son is 9 years old Mr. Manager, feeding him free onion rings instead of the burgers he ordered simply can't fly. DUH. Anyway, this was a very strange experience overall.

Food is low grade. Onion rings frozen, burgers are like patties purchased from the supermarket. Kids did like the fries. Milk shakes from a machine, ridiculously over priced. No line. Wonder why.

This place is in the Shops at Wailea which was across from our hotel. We took a chance on it for breakfast one morning and were pleasantly surprised. The food is your average American breakfast fare, but the wait staff is wonderful--specifically Mary and Dayan (sp?). We returned two other mornings for breakfast, too. It was around $12 including tip for a very filling breakfast. Enjoy!

Great to visit for a 1st time, but definitely not worth a repeat! I have had better cheeseburgers. The service is painfully slow! Even though they are not crowded they make sure you feel it as they sit everyone very close together.

  • Tim K.

Had breakfast here, so I don't know anything about the burgers. The mac nut pancakes were good, but a little tough, and could have used more nuts in the batter. The mango and pineapple sides were great, as was the orange juice.

  • Tiana T.

I loved this place. Reasonable prices, compare to the hotel food prices. I wish I had found it sooner than my last day on the island. My hubby had some burger with pineapple that was great and I had a bacon cheeseburger. Yum.

This place does a decent diner breakfast. It's cheap, too -- $6 for eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and coffee. The service was great, and the open air atmosphere was pleasant.

This place was pretty lame, and the burger was very sub-par. That's not a good thing for a place with burger in the name. It might be the cheapest place in the Shops at Wailea, but it's really not a great option.

Good cheeseburgers! I enjoyed a tasty cheeseburger that needed no ketchup for flavor. Mmmm! A good meal here is very well followed by an ice cream cone at Lappert's.

This is a good solid restaurant, great for families or a casual dinner. Burgers were large and yummy. I had mine with grilled pineapple and avocado. Helpful waiter suggested the sliders for our two young sons to split instead of two kids' burgers, which saved us a few bucks. It was four tiny butgers with fixings on the side so kids could ignore them. Very nice seasoned steak fries. Only downside was my husband was still hungry after he finished his fish sandwich, which he did say was good. Given that we'd been traveling all day, he acknowledged he should have ordered a burger. They had turkey burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads. All in all, a solid place...like a Red Robin or other burger chain with an island vibe. Dinner cost about $65 for three adults and two kids, counting one Mai tai, two sodas and two $7 plastic pineapples that double as piggy banks when you get home (you get free refills anytime you go and believe me, with two kids who live on cheeseburgers, we will be there at least twice during out two weeks here).

Me and my wife tried two different burgers. Both burgers tasted like they were made with grocery store bought pre-made frozen patties. They were both bland and the buns were soggy. Service and atmosphere were ok but I do not recommend going there for the burgers.

Hmmm, wondering if we went to the same place.. Food was good, we actually ate here twice as it was good food and reasonably priced. Had the cheeseburgers both times (there are about 20 different ones to choose from) and they were cooked correctly, came relatively quickly, and tasted great. Service was good both times (once for lunch, once for dinner). I would recommend them.

You could not pay me enough to eat at this establishment again. I was in Maui back in March 2009 and my husband and I went for a late lunch. Our waiter appeared to have a hangover and the food was mediocre at best but was not the most unpleasant experience in the world (I had only been married two days so was still seeing stars!!). Fast forward to May 2009 when I was lucky enough to return to Maui with friends. They wanted to eat here because they had enjoyed their burgers in the past. Needless to say, it was a horrible experience for all three of us. Our waitress was particularly spacey -- did not seem to have any opinion about what she would recommend vs. not at the restaurant and could not answer any of our other questions regarding the menu. When our food was delivered, we had to ask for cutlery and napkins and food was generally "meh". One of our party got up to use the restroom, and while he was gone, our waitress then proceeded to start a clean up without asking us if we were finished. In her haste, she tipped over a large glass of water on the table which she had just placed there which in turn spilled over onto my DSLR camera as well as a bag of clothes that had just been purchased. We complained to the manager who instead of addressing the current situation, offered us a discount on our NEXT meal there. Did I mention that I would not set foot in there again if you paid me? In addition, I had to return that evening because I had left something behind and encountered another disgruntled customer leaving in the dinner hour that had some very similar complaints about the service / food. He said he had been coming to the restaurant for years and had never had such poor service as this trip. He too said he would never return.

  • Jay G.

The venison burger was great. The fixings are the right proportion. However, the beer was flat and the service was negligible. Flat beer? Really? If the keg had been changed recently, and if the staff cared about my experience, it might get more stars.

I have to go along with the post by Ben Z. Hell, it sounds like we may have had a table near each other on that same day..The food was, lets say it was "chewy". Fish and chips was drowned in grease. Yes I know their deep fried and all but these were not given any drain time for sure. The Fries were of leather consistency. The wait staff was nothing but angry looking..Our particular waitress was a mean looking bitch who seemed ready to kill if you crossed her. No smiles, no thankyou's, no nothing. She did her job in the most basic minimal way possible. Cheeseburger Island happens to be Cheeseburger in Paradises bad younger sister. The latter isn't any great place either but it stands itself far and above this sorry excuse in Wailea. By the way, unrelated sort of, but if your a first time visitor to Maui, skip the Wailea Mall. Total tourist trap with overpriced stores (mostly catering to women of course) staffed largely by employees with noses pointing up. You see, Wailea houses the so-called upper crust part of the island population. Foo-foo ville. For some reason the Wailea Shopping complex considers themselves part of that crowd.

Since there were not that many choices of restaurants in this mall, we thought why not just eat here, we were already hungry, the waitress was very nice but took so long to take our orders, my fork was dirty with something still sticking to it, but no big deal, got another one, the food took forever to come, like 25 minutes. The food was ok but tasted like a fastfood burger, we ordered guac and chips, chips were stale , not crunchy at all, tasted weird. But compared to hotel restaurants, this place is affordable.

Terrible. Do yourself a favor and order room service instead. Cold fries. Horrible cocktails. Service slow even for Island time.

Came for happy hour (we're actually sitting at the bar as i type this). Good drinks. My wife loved the pina colada. We've been waiting 25+ minutes for a quesadilla with no end in sight. While the bartender, Mark, has been great....there's no excuse for waiting that long for a quesadilla. Edit: After a solid 33 minute wait, the quesadilla arrives. Just before we were going to ask to have to removed from our bill. Luckily, the bartender was incredibly apologetic and gave us another round of drinks...on the house. Bumping my star rating up to 3!

This review is for breakfast, which they do well here. The breakfast burger is awesome, teaming with hashbrowns, bacon and an egg. They have a $6.99 special which is well worth it. Service was also great in the morning.

My sister, brother-in-law, & I just finished having dinner at Ruth Chris. We weren't quite ready to head back to our hotel yet, so we decided to stroll in for after dinner drinks. I look over the drink menu, noticed Happy Hour started at 9pm, I glanced at my watch (which is set to the same time my phone is set to...exact time). Score, it's 9pm. I tell the bartender I'd like a Mai Tai, which is $4 during happy hour. The Mai Tai was great, but the bill was not. I got charged $9 for my Mai Tai. When I brought up the discrepancy to the bartender, his response was, you ordered your drink at 8:58pm. My reaction, wow! Since it was my last night in Maui, I decided I'll let it go. Jokingly, my sister said give her another drink and we'll be okay. His response was, give me a good tip; I don't work for free. Needless to say, he did not get a good tip. (And I'm an extremely great tipper!) So this place gets its rating based on customer service. I would've gave it one star, but the drinks taste fine; but the service was not. A good bartender would've fix the issue, a great bartender would've told you according to his watch, happy hour was in two minutes. When customers are happy, they tend to spend more and tip more. Heck, I probably would've given him the difference as a tip. By the way management, my visit was today, 9/1/15. Safe to say, I will not be coming back nor will I recommend anyone to visit. Your staff should NOT be soliciting tips. The end!

The hostess was friendly and efficient. Made us feel at home immediately. Our waitress was funny, knowledgeable and fast, and she gave us several great recommendations. The burgers were big and tasty - true burger lovers will know what I mean when I say they are at least a three napkin affair. The prices are not bad for a tourist area. Pretty clear some of the reviews originated from a singularly off night or due to the recent phenomena generally known as Yelp Flex - angry, impatient tourist types who find outlet and retribution for imagined slights through limp keyboard rage. Either that or this fat, white mainlander looks like somebody famous, because they treated me like I was a rock star.

Stopped in for after dinner drinks. The first guy to greet us and let us choose seats at the bar was awesome. The bartender didn't seem too cool. I felt like he was preoccupied with conversing with another patron as well as all the waitresses. The drinks were just okay, I only had 1. We ordered a basket of onion rings too. The came out hot and fast but had zero flavor. I've never eaten at any of these restaurants so I can't compare it to anything but we won't be going back.

I was worried based on other reviews, but we really enjoyed our food! Caroline was our waitress and she was cheerful and took great care of us. I had the Taco Salad and made a substitute of black bean patty instead of meat and it really worked. I would recommend to mgr that less refried beans in the bottom and more lettuce would make this a better salad. My husband had burger and fries and also enjoyed it...I tried a fry and it was delish!

From the scattered times I've been here, Cheeseburger Island Style is smacked in the middle of the Wailea shops, it's just average. Decorated with plenty of vintage Hawaii memorabilia, and views of the town, the restaurant is a pretty sight. However, the food is pretty average and overpriced, and service is spotty. I've heard plenty of good things from this place for dinner, but from our couple of lunch experiences, it's not the best. The Swiss-mushroom burger is pretty good, along with their sliders and garlic fries are pretty impressive. On the other hand, our foodservers have never been friendly, and the last time was the worst. We were the only people in the restaurant, and it took incredibly long for two burgers, fries, and a taco. To top it off, our waiter wasn't rude, but he wasn't nice either. Overall, we may not have had a great experience but others may love it!

My husband and I work for the hospitality industry, we were too tired to sit there and eat so we decided to do take out. Walked up to Giselle (bartender) sent us to order with a the hostess( who was beyond confounded) hostess sent us back to the bartender. Giselle was too busy flirting with the guy at the bar, looked up and hastily took our order (as if we were interrupting?!!). Gave us the bill, I automatically pulled my credit card, she still had the audacity to completely ignore us, lean over the counter to continue flirting w the guy at the bar! We paid, and later on after picking up our food spoke to the manager. We weren't asking for a five star restaurant, we just wanted burgers, Giselle was just beyond rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. Definitely not going back, or sending anybody there anymore!

My husband and I ate here a couple times on our honeymoon. The breakfast is only $6 and great value for money. We had a late night meal - nachos are huge and delicious - John had one of the cheeseburgers and we couldn't get over the size of it. The service isn't the best we've seen, but it wasn't bad. It's a good place to go for a break from expensive resort prices. It has a good casual vibe to it with open air seating

We had lunch here recently after doing some shopping at the shopping center. We had to wait a bit for our table so they took our phone# and texted us when the table was ready. It was only about 15 minutes. I had the California Cheeseburger with avocado and pineapple. I would say the cheeseburger was cooked properly and had a decent flavor. I liked the avocado and pineapple. The pineapple seemed canned though. Fries were good. Mom had the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. She liked hers as well. These are not the best burgers in the world but they are tasty. Its a fun atmosphere. Looks like the drinks are probably good. Our server was attentive. The manager seemed to be training the hostess and she was not catching on at all. Or he was just too pushy.

Nice, fairly cheap fair. It's a good burger, easy to eat and order. Got a Longboard beer and a cheeseburger with blue cheese - I would say worth it for what it is, but not necessarily going out of your way for

We came to the restaurant last night with a party of 16. My 10 year old son has a Severe nut allergy and an egg allergy that will have him throwing up and going out the other end for days. We asked the waiter if the grilled cheese contained either of these ingredients. The waiter emphatically assured us that it was safe. My son ate half the sandwich and said he felt sick. I asked the waiter if he was sure and he replied " oh, I forgot to check the bread". Long story short my son has not been able to eat hardly anything since and vomited up what he has eaten. The manager filled out an accident report and didn't charge us for the meal, but this is INEXCUSABLE!!Never happened in a restaurant before. If it had been nuts he could be dead!! Don't go near this place!! The food the rest of the family had was gross too. They may be hearing from our attorney. I would give zero stars if I could.

the loco moco burger: hamburger patty, 3 eggs your style, rice and brown gravy is legit. they cooked the eggs a little drier than i wanted. i wanted medium... however the service is in between but it is better than the one in Lahaina Harbor where everyone is crammed into sardines and share table space, with no service. wailea is a quieter town. this restaurant is located in the shopping center of wailea. the view and air is fresh here if you are sitting out. i guess depending on the waiter... you get slim to no service. so i give this place 3 out of 5 stars

This place is fine, nothing to write home about. It's not somewhere I'd normally stop but we were in the area and I was hangry. Service is very friendly and the fries were great! I had a burger and it was OK, nothing special. The beer was frosty cold!

It is not the best meal we will have on Maui, but remains on the must visit! I looking at previous reviews on this restaurant, I have noted that the food quality can vary. This trip, the food was very good - on this alone I would give it a 4 star review. But I downgraded it due to the mediocre Mai Tais we got there. Could it be that this was our first meal in Maui in 2 years and our expectations were too high? I don't think so. the drinks were just average but they charge a premium price for them. Come on guys, get your drinks in line with the food and you will get your 4 star review back!!!

Horrible! Tried to order the taco salad, came with the choice of chicken, beef or pulled pork. I asked if I could get it without meat and substitute a veggie patty. The answer was No... I asked if I could pay for the patty, server went and asked, returned and told me 'The only way you can get a veggie patty is to order an entire veggie burger in addition to your salad.'. Seriously?!? We bolted out of there. Horrible customer service and NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! SWEAT SHOP HAMBURGERS!!

  • Sarah K.

Great ambience, great food, great service! We had nachos and "its all good" cheeseburger. Both were very good and were made out of fresh material. I definitely recommend this place!

  • Monica N.

Service was very slow though the restaurant was not full. The server never came to check on me after she took the order. No air conditioning, so having lunch in the warm afternoon was just sweating through it. They said their cheeseburgers were the best, so I ordered the cheeseburgers babies (smaller version of their cheeseburger). It was not good at all. I could barely finish one of the 2 slider-sized "cheeseburger babies." Then I sat for a long time wondering if my server would ever come back to give me my bill! NOT going back! Tommy Bahamas upstairs was much better in terms of food and service!

Excellent breakfast for the price, especially in Maui. Less than $8.00, tasty hamburger patty. Will come back again

    (4)

The $5 happy hour menu is the only affordable thing here. Burgers are like $14 not including fries! Service was lackadaisical. Not coming back. Music was hideous '80s rock.

I had high expectations given my experience at their other Maui location. Unfortunately, my experience this time was horrible. The food was mediocre and the service was extremely poor. Our waitress was forgetful, rushed, and dismissive. When she offered to talk to her manager about a poor meal that wasn't eaten (to discount it), I had to go search for her and was then given the bill without her having talked to her manager as she was "busy". I asked to speak to the manager and waited another 10 minutes while someone else paged the manager as my waitress "couldn't deal with this". Very poor service, poor food, and flavorless drinks. Will not be back.

What exactly is Cheeseburger Island Style? Somebody was explaining to me how it had, at one time, been affiliated with Cheeseburger in Paradise, but wasn't anymore, and I thought I understood what they were saying, but then the story got too long and somebody said something about lawyers and there was a game on, so, yeah, not much I can do to help with the explanation. I, your intrepid explorer (and part time philosopher (college certified even, Thanks Dad!)) bellied up to the bar at Cheeseburger Island Style for a sporting event I was slightly interested in, ordered a cheeseburger (how could I not? It's RIGHT THERE in the name) and got to thinking about what exactly Cheeseburger Island Style is. Here is my conclusion -- Cheeseburger Island Style is what would happen if Chili's and Applebee's pooled together all of their tip money for like two years, bought a one way ticket to Maui, got really drunk on the beach, and then fell on hard times where they were slightly destitute and exploring options for how they could make an extra few bucks (realizing at that point that they were missing the mainland a little bit and they were also remembering that the dude they let crash at their studio apartment by the mall in Omaha may or may not have discovered the bag of weed they'd left in their closet and they weren't prepared to lose everything). So anyway, Mr. Chili and Ms. Applebee put their heads together and were like, "Hey! We're near a mall, we know how to make mediocre food, and we're pretty good with creating gimmicky names for our dishes. Let's start a restaurant!" BAM! There is your Cheeseburger Island Style. My cheeseburger was good. The bacon added a welcome touch. Flavor wise? I enjoyed it. Temperature wise? Fifteen more seconds in the microwave would have made me happier. The burger was lukewarm. The fries, unfortunately were not even really lukewarm. I didn't go in expecting five star food, I'm grading this relative to expectations. The Good: * Was able to sit at the bar and watch a game I wanted to see (my team won) * Refills on the iced tea were plentiful * I did not get sick The Not So Much: * Food was cool to the touch * Bartender was...very animated, slightly pushy, hugely enthusiastic about some of the dishes I did not try. Lots of, "Hey bro, check out the Hang Ten Taco Pancakes!" type stuff. "They're totally tubular!" (BRO TIP: not everybody visiting Maui seeks out their "authentic" surf culture interaction at a themed restaurant in a mall) * Price was a bit steep, but to be fair, everything seems to be a dollar or two more than the Mainland and it's not hard to understand why. However, it's worth noting, some dude sat down a few seats away from me and complained to the bartender that things were a bit pricey and then left. The bartender's response in plain view of myself and some other customers? "What a dbag! This isn't McDonald's bro!" No, it's not McDonald's. It's Chili Applebee's "get home to the mainland plan." And with the money they save by not heating the food, they'll be home in no time!

After doing some shopping the hubby and were super hungry. I think there are only 2 restaurants there; Italian or burgers and the hubby wanted burgers. The servers weren't as friendly as other servers we've encountered while on the island. Also, the burger was super salty. I did, however, enjoy the coconut shrimp.

We were shopping at The Shops at Wailea and needed a bite to eat for a late lunch. We narrowed it down to Longhi's or Cheeseburger Island Style. The host was very pleasant and inviting plus we wanted a burger. We were seated at a great table and our server, Lauren, was the nicest person! The size of the burger was good, but for $14 (plus $2.75 for fries) it should be. The bun was soggy and the lettuce was a big chunk like the stem rather than the leaf. Overall, the experience was a 3 star one. Why the 1 star rating then? My wife had really bad aches and pains, a terrible fever, shakes, chills and vomiting within a few hours after we left. We didn't eat anything after the burgers so I am confident this was the source. Once again, the service was great. The atmosphere was nice. The food almost had us go to the hospital.

  • Robert H.

I have to tell you after seeing the 2.5 star rating I had my doubts about trying the restaurant. My wife and I stopped by for happy hour and had no complaints. The food was good, the service was just as good and the price was even better. The Kahula pork Quesadilla was awesome especially for the 5.00 happy hour prices.

Our waitress was funny and nice but the food was just alright. I come here once in a while and always get the burgers, so this time I figured I'd try something different. I got the fish tacos and the seared ahi sandwich. The sandwich was mediocre probably not worth $15. Their cole slaw is good because it has pineapples. As for the fish tacos the lettuce was covering the entire plate. It was a taco with 70% lettuce 20% spicy fish 5% cheese and 5% pico. The fish was a bit soggy and overall dry. With more pico de gallo or salsa it could be much better. I'll be sticking to their burgers.

It's not what I remembered. I had eaten here before years ago & it just didn't live up to the memory's. That could be my fault. I had there regular cheeseburger, I should have gotten something more adventurous. For the price, the portion was actually small, and that's including fries. Our server was nice, disappeared for awoke to fold napkins. I sadly prolly won't return.

  • Cat Y.

I was lured by the kitschy, tiki decor. My server seemed bored or irritated. He took our orders and delivered our food. He didn't stop by to ask if everything was okay. It wasn't - I needed refill on my water and our ketchup bottle was empty. No big deal. Food was mediocre.. .nothing too special. I had the breakfast cheeseburger. However, the hostess was great. She was sweet. She made some funny jokes after we left.

My wife and I decided that this is where "Happiness comes to die". We were shopping, and went out of convenience to have some drinks... once our first arrived, we finished as quick as we could to just go anywhere else. This place had convenience to our condo, and that is the only positive thing I can say. I don't think they'll be in business long.

We had returned from hiking up to the Haleakala crater, and needed something to tide us over for a late lunch. We checked out Longhis, Tommy Bahamas, and found them astronomically expensive, even for lunch in the Shops at Wailea mall. And no Macdonalds, let alone In-and-Out Hamburgers. We were walking around from Ruth Steak house (not open for lunch) and found Cheeseburger Island style. Very casual, open to the elements with a tall wooden ceiling, with the interior looking like something out of Disneyland's adventureland kon tiki. We look out on the very back of the Shops at Wailea mall over the parking lot, with a very tall hedge separating us from the luxury ocean front hotels. We order the cheeseburger island style, figuring they won't mess up their dish named after the restaurant. You go to a burger restaurant, and order only burgers, not shrimp, not anything else. We sit at the table, and wait a good 20 minutes for the burger to come, and split it between the two of us. The burger comes with a paper umbrella, a nice touch, grilled pineapple and island teriyaki sauce. It is absolutely delicious, if overpriced at $11. But hey, you are paying for the location, at the most expensive shopping mall in Maui.

This used to be a first-night standard visit for us after 8+ flight hours to get here. This visit may be our last. We sat at a high top in the bar area. 15 min went by before the waitress took our drink order. Another 15 min later we got our beer. Burgers took another 20 min. By then, we both had finished our beer, however, our waitress never came back to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything else. It took another 15 min to get the check. Burgers were average. We'd have had another round or two if the service was better. Instead, we took our business to the Marriott...

  • C.J. D.

Should've read the reviews... The server was trying his best, but still not even adequate. A server dropped a cup of ranch while scurrying past, which splashed up off the ground across my wife's back, up the back of her hair, and then dripped down like a bird droppings off the front of her bangs, she was greeted by a women's room with burned-out lights -- so she actually had to leave the restaurant to clean up. We all should've left at that point. No wash rag, nothing. Didn't even comp her meal. The burgers were bland. The fries cold.

  • Darren N.

When we got here we were lured in by the tiki looking decor. Kind of like how a Venus fly trap lures its prey into its hellhole of a mouth. Everyone in the joint looked like they wanted to kill themselves, including the staff. After we ordered the cheese fries and Mai tais, we knew why. Staff were dreary and unimpressed, food was below average. I tried giving it half a star, but the one upside was that we didn't die from food poisoning. You're better to starve and wither away on the beach than to come here for any nourishment. How they have any locations is beyond me, let alone six.

Bar food with a taste of maui. My husband and I we're staying at grand wailea which is very expensive so it was nice to take a 5min walk to have breakfast for a reasonable price. Portions are huge and very tasty.

We experienced one of the worst bartenders here. First, it took 10 minutes before we were greeted at the bar, once we sat down. The bartender was not friendly and spent most of his time with his back to us on the other side of the bar. Once we had our drinks, my husband mentioned to the bartender, "It's my wife's birthday today." The bartender frowned, sarcastically replied, "Happy birthday," rolled his eyes and walked away. The whole experience sucked. We would have stayed for food, but didn't want to deal with the service any longer. This place was recommended to us for their happy hour...not a good choice!

TERRIBLE SERVICE. We waited 40 minutes for water to arrive. On the plus side, the burgers were pretty good, hence the 1 star. Don't waste your time at this dump. Plenty of better food all over the island. Never again.

*HORRIBLE* I don't even know where to start. The food was COLD. I had ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the meat and bun were cold and stale! The fries were soggy and there was a piece of HAIR in my Bleu cheese dressing!!! Our waitress topped off the whole night though. I should have gotten her name. She was a Caucasian woman, very tall with green eyes and blond hair. I suggest you don't get seated in her section becauSe is just plain RUDE. She never came and checked on us, and she only had 2 other tables to worry about. When I paid the bill, she threw the check in my face and told me that I didn't pay the correct amount! Words cannot explain how pissed I am about her disgusting attitude. Hah! Whatever. That's the last time I'm eating there. Goodluck with their business!

Why can't we give no stars? Party of 5 Sat at the bar, bartender won't give you service you have to use your people skills to talk to her. We put in our drink orders and food at the same time. After 30 min im told the beer I ordered needs a keg change. 10 min later "something's wrong would you like something else?" Fuck... I guess I take a dirty ass bud light. Salad came out without dressings, and burger was the wrong burger. DUECES BITCH your food sucks, your customer service sucks, and I seriously don't understand how even the rich people accept this. -Andrew (kama'aina)

We worked with the manager Tony to setup a welcome dinner here for our wedding guests attending our destination wedding. Tony was very helpful and let us use a semi private side room for our dinner. Tony also worked with my in laws to setup a menu they were comfortable with. Our group ate a wide variety of things off the menu and everyone was happy with what they had. This was a very casual meal and was exactly what our group was looking for. We had a wonderful time with good food.

  • Bobby M.

Okay, the staff is friendly, but....the food was mediocre, at best. We started off with a $5 Bloody Mary and should've stopped there. They were great and the price was fair. Now, after asking the waitress what the best thing on the menu was, we settled for the Kalua pig nachos based on her recommendation. The flavor of the pork was actually quite good if you can find it. On the full plate of nachos there was very little Kalua pork at all. We asked for an extra bit of salsa and pico de gallo, which the waitress did bring out. When the final bill came we found out that we were charged two dollars for the pico and it was only about it an ounce in size. The manager did take off the charge, but seriously, $2 an ounce for salsa with no prior notice?

Name of the place is actually Cheeseburger Island Style. We had been here years ago and loved it. We came back with our kids this time and were excited. I won't be back. The burgers seem to be frozen and pre-cooked. While we were there, a little boy got sick and threw up on the floor near our table. The wait staff walked around it and nobody bothered to clean it up. It seemed like everyone had the attitude, "Not my job." It sat there for nearly ten minutes. My wife and daughter had to leave before they got sick. The food was just okay. None of it seemed fresh. It all seemed frozen.

I like Cheeseburger in Paradise. This is my bro in laws fav burger place on the islands and I usually go with him to eat a good burger. This time we were here for breakfast. My wife had the skinny omelet and I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. Both were good, served quickly, and hot. Our waitress was really awesome.....I could hear her talking to tourists and helping them plan their day. She was sweet and someone you would want representing your business.....I wish I could remember her name....I think it's Carolyn. I would go back for breakfast, and lunch!

Service was soo slow. Our avocado dip was okay but the chips were sooo stale that we couldn't really eat it. The manager even admitted and said they threw away the bag after we complained but didn't really apologize and offer something else. The burgers were not impressive... Especially their cheeseburger with an attitude... Which was supposedly their most famous burger. I should have looked at yelp before coming here. We were soo disappointed.

We live on the island and we have been there 3 times so far. There was a couple of years' break between the first time and the last 2 times. 1 time: we ordered 2 sandwiches, waited for one of them for 50 minutes and there were maybe 8 people max as it was 10 am. So when they finally brought the sandwich it turned out to be a WRONG sandwich. 2 time: dinner-a couple of years later: we actually moved to the island and remembering our "wrong sandwich place" decided to give it another try and see how the things are going. The second time was all right, the food was ok. 3/5 3 time.-dinner time. Almost empty room/ like 10 visitors. They brought 2 WRONG DRINKS, both of them were actually not what we had ordered. We were a male/female couple and there were lots of available tables around but they put us to the lower level right next to the old silent couple above so we could smell their feet and they could hear our conversations even if we whispered. The tables were dirty. brrrr... How has this place survived for such a long time?! Mystery....

  • Patrick B.

From the hype you read... It sounds like you are about to have the best cheeseburger you've EVER had. It was OK. Feels like a bar/burger/sports/beer joint to me. Folks were nice enough.. service fast... food average... There are probably better places to have a burger.

    (2)
  • Dara B.

Service was horrible, very slow. Hostess or bartender could have stepped in to help waitress who could not keep up with her tables. Bartender was 10 feet away from our table and let our drinks sit in the bar waiting for the waitress. He was not busy at all and should have delivered the drinks knowing we were waiting so long. I don't believe his job just stops after making drinks. The hostess also had some down time and could have delivered water to us. It was definitely not a team effort. Burgers were mediocre, certainly disappointing for a restaurant called CheeseBurger. Onion rings were watery inside, gross. They were out of straws long enough to fit the kids cups. We watched the table next to us have a similar experience, sending food back several times. A total bummer.

    (1)
  • Leia V.

Food is awesome... And a great value! The cheeseburgers are delicious, especially if you add guacamole. We also ordered an ahi sandwich that was a hit! The fries weren't that great, and I wouldn't recommend the salad either... It was kinda wilty. Good service too- there were cook mistakes but the server handled them with grace

  • Marko S.

Wow. Just wow. All of the one star reviews are right. Not sure how this place is in business? Wonder if it was ever good and maybe has gone down hill? We ended up a bit hungry while roaming around the shops at wailea. Thought, "it can't be THAT bad, can it?" It was. Should have listened to our Instincts to get up and leave once we were seated and saw the dirty run down surroundings... Alas we stayed and ordered. Food came in less than 10 minutes. The grayish burgers seemed to be sub-mcdonalds grade meat (chewy gristle chunks included) all automatically cooked, or possibly microwaved, well done (red flag) topped with flattened whitish/green "lettuce" and those kinda light orange been-cut-for-too-long tomatoes and soggy out of a package buns. The guacamole on my guac burger definitely came from a tube and though the fries looked ok they lacked in the flavor department... I feel bad for the staff (who all seemed nice and attentive)... They seemed kinda miserable running around in their plastic hula skirts and sneakers. Definitely one of the worst burgers I've ever had and from a place that supposedly specializes in burgers... Location is all it has going for it... Avoid!!!

Substandard at best. The service was meh all the way; the food served cold; the restrooms dirty even though the restaurant was overstaffed and quiet. Overall, this is absurdly overpriced and since it has a view of little more than Longhi's and the parking lot, a waste of time, money, and energy.

The service here was not that great at all... We got there and had about three workers look at us and not acknowledge us... We finally got someone to seat us, and it took quite a while to get someone to just get us drinks, just two waters. My boyfriend ordered the bbq burger with fries, and I ordered the small cheeseburgers with the sweet potato waffle fries. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger, but mine was just ok. The onions were supposed to be grilled onions, and they were hardly even cooked. The waffle fries are definitely not worth it, the regular fries my boyfriend had were way better. I wish I ate something else or somewhere else but the eating options at this mall are quite poor. The decor is really cheesy, the staff isn't that great, and the bathroom smelt like a pet store. I would not recommend this place, and I would not eat here again. We waited around a lot, and when it came time to pay my boyfriend asked if we should wait for them to take the check and I jokingly told him we would be there for another hour if we waited, he decided to give our waiter the benefit of the doubt and wait a little, needless to say he gave up cause we sat there a little too long just to try to be acknowledged again, and went on to be ignored once again. Poor customer service and the food is just ok, not worth it at all.

I had a good experience here. Both of us really liked our burgers, nice cold beer and our waiter was phenomenal. Great spot for lunch.

Here visiting Maui and stopped in for lunch. Save yourself and go eat somewhere else. Service was horrendous, bathrooms smell terrible, waiter touched our food right in front of us, brought out 4 burgers when we ordered 5, 5th burger was brought out 30 minutes after, sticky tables, chips and guacamole took 45 minutes, staff seemed really lazy. Disappointed because this place is in a good location and the beer is cold. Food was sub par, the service was worse. I give them one star for the cold beer.

While staying at The Marriott we walked up to the mall and ate here several times. We found the meals to be good and the service very good. Great skinny scramble with avocado for breakfast! And I loved the Maui BLT and Pig Meal for dinner.

We had good service for lunch. After a day of snorkeling, we went in with hair uncombed. Chili cheese fries were excellent as a starter. Great local beers on tap. My cheeseburger was solid and pulled pork was good slightly on the salty side! Great place to grab a beer and burger! Also watched some World Cup soccer on patio.

This place gets an extra star for Taking off the awful burger they fed me. The reviews are accurate that the patty tastes like the frozen costco ones. The toppings are unique but offset by the patty. My burger came back underdone and was sent back. It came back without half the bun and lettuce. Third time it came back it had a dry bun still no lettuce. By this point everyone else had eaten and I gave up

Great Mai Tai bar with surprisingly good live music. A very Island-like vibe and feel to the whole place. When in Maui, do as the locals do . . . ya gotta have a Mai Tai and a Burger. Well, ok, maybe this is more what the tourists do, but nonetheless you'll feel like this is exactly what you had in mind when you thought about enjoying a Mai Tai in Maui. C'mon, admit it, you know that's what you were thinking. Service was excellent and our waiter had an upbeat but genuine approach, even to us tourists. The Guacamole Burger was very good, maybe not excellent, but very good . . . and when accompanied with a Mai Tai, well it was very enjoyable. Fries and onion rings were also good, but the side salad was a bit lame.

Don't wast your time or money! Hosts seem unhappy and I say host with an "s" because several people approached the host station but said someone would be right with me. Waiter was so busy that he kept telling us he will be right with us. It seemed like he was rushing us the whole time! Birds walking on the tables!!!! Health hazard for sure! Toss side salad (premix like you get from Costco with iceberg lettuce) brown. So sad. Never again!

If there were a way to leave the star rating blank.....I would have. The food is absolutely disgusting and the service isn't much better. My order was taken three separate times and then served cold......then was made incorrectly on top of it. Please, save your money and your time and eat elsewhere!

The Loco Moco here is to die for!!! You only need one. Share it with someone. It is HUGE!! Mimosas & Bloody Mary's ... Great service & casual atmosphere!

I thought my food was okay: pastrami cheeseburger with onion rings and calamari. My wife's seared ahi salad had dodgy lettuce that smelt horrible. We paid $6.50 for two coffees and never got refills. Poor service on the whole.

The first day we had breakfast here was TERRIBLE! Our waitress took our order, mine came out not even what I had ordered and we never saw her again someone else brought us the bill. Two days later my husband wanted to go back and I thought he was crazy until he told me they had the best eggs benedict. This time Jess was our waiter and she was on top of it! I had an omelet with pineapple, portuguese sausage, and swiss cheese. DELICIOUS! We also had an order of chili cheese fries and they were some of the best we have had! We came back a couple days later for lunch and asked for Jess again because she is so friendly and nice and made sure we were taken care of. I had the coconut shrimp and it was pretty good. The food is okay here, nothing special that you can't get elsewhere. Jess is really what turned it around for us and made us like this place and want to go back again when we are in Maui. Thanks Jess!

After reading the reviews on Yelp, I was hesitant to try this place- but hey, why not take a chance? We arrived was around 7:30pm and sat in the bar to avoid a family with three noisy kids... The waitress was friendly and answered our questions. I decided on the pork sandwich and my wife had the BLT (again, we were both a little shy of the burgers). Food arrived in a timely manner, and both sandwiches arrived with the proper sides, slaw and onion rings. The Kalua Pig was better than expected- a decent size and slightly above average taste. It was however, in need of some seasoning- salt, pepper, Tabasco fixed the problem. The BLT was a decent size and was fresh- what else can you say? Side of slaw was a little small and the rings were out of a bag- not so good. The waitress was quick to offer refills, so no complaints there. Overall a little pricey for what you get but then again this is Wailea...

I'm not sure why people hate this place so much. Yes, it's a chain restaurant. It's neither high-end resort fare nor the yummy local dive spots that populate Maui. But when you're in the Shops at Wailea, hungry for a bite, there's nothing wrong with this place. The staff is polite, the burgers are decent, and the onion rings are pretty freaking fantastic.

A year ago I went here for dinner and it was horrible. The food was tasteless and for what you paid it was crappy. The drinks were watered down and the services was horrible. I went again this week for breakfast instead and we ended up here twice. The breakfast specials are way worth the price. The coffee was excellent, hash browns well done. Service was awesome.

Greeted by a friendly hostess wearing an awful grass skirt. Make it a high quality grass skirt and stop recycling the Easter basket grass. If I had to wear that all day, I'd be as grumpy as our waitress. Now on to our waitress and her demeanor and service. We went without acknowledgement for 5 minutes in a restaurant with less than 8 tables occupied. When she finally arrived at our table, she said, "do you guys know what you want?" No hello. No drink order. No Aloha! The food was as expected. The eggs were cooked properly and the French toast was decent. My bf ordered biscuits and gravy. Although it was not mind blowing, you could actually see sausage pieces, and it didn't have the consistency of wallpaper paste; he was pleasantly surprised by it's not-out-of-a-jar flavor. Once we finally put our drink order in, it took 10+ minutes for the Bloody Mary cocktails to arrive. The bar was not hopping so I am not sure what took so long. As the perfect culmination to our meal, we finally got our glasses of water with our check.

The hubs and I went here for lunch after arriving at the Marriott earlier in the day. We arrived around 2:30p, famished. Hubs ordered a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, and I got the black bean burger along with a side salad with papaya dressing. The food was pretty decent - not the best, not the worst. Hubs was also able to hold out until 3p, when happy hour started, to order a Maui blonde - which he said was refreshing and tasty. A table of ladies behind us ordered hula pie for dessert and were shocked at how enormous it was when it came out - so they had their waiter come over and offer to give us half of it. We weren't really in the mood for dessert, so we passed - but just be advised that the hula pie is REALLY BIG. Overall, this wasn't bad. The food was decent, albeit a little overpriced, and the service was good. And if you're looking for a casual place that is not going to cost you an arm and a leg, this is one of your only options in Wailea.

Ate breakfast there today. Clearly they have a cleanliness issue. The floors were sticky. The table tops were suspect as the open air dining allowed birds to eat off the tables and likely left droppings though I didn't see any. The food was just okay. The hash browns were a big disappointment as the were loaded with grease. I will not return.

Good atmosphere to watch a game.... At the bar. Service was just as bad as the burgers, who doesn't cook a burger medium rare? Especially when they claim to be a burger place! First ever review on yelp and I'm venting due to the frustrations after my visit here. I just finished my "burger" and the waitress didn't have the know how to even ask how the meal was. Just walked up and slapped the bill down..... Definitely not recommending this place and never coming back. Unless the bar is open, because beer comes medium rare lol. Positive hopes, negative outcome

Nothing special here. We went for a quick bite after some shopping. There was nothing quick about it. I understand the concept of 'island time', but this just seemed like borderline ineptitude. The food was nothing special. My husband had a bland cheeseburger that seemed to have missed out on any kind of seasoning. My Cobb salad was fine, save for the unripe bitter avocado. They should have just left it off. We did enjoy the evening entertainment and that is what changed this from a 1 star to 2 star review.

Several problems with this place: - sticky and greasy table to start - dirty silverware, oily and smelled like hamburger. Replacement set was also dirty, decided to clean it myself. - slow service - seared ahi was extremely fishy tasting, I would say borderline spoiled. - burger bun was smashed, hamburger was under seasoned, onion rings were okay. I'll be recommending to my friends to not go here. Something is obviously wrong with the restaurant management or owners, seems like they don't care anymore.

The wait to place our order was over 25 minutes, still waiting for our order for breakfast will not be served till lunch. The table next to us just cancelled their order. Would not recommend u come here unless you have a lot of video games and not expecting to eat for an hour and half

We had breakfast there almost every morning and always asked for Jessica's section. She has a great personality and treats everyone special. Visiting Lahaina with another couple who have been to Maui way more than we have, they suggested we go here for dinner. It's a cute tourist-trap kinda place with an awesome view, friendly servers, and some guy upstairs playing guitar and trying to sing (sounded like karaoke). I ordered a burger (seemed like the thing to do). Hawaiian burger with pineapple and teriyaki sauce. Good patti/bun but I had to ask for more sauce because it was so dry, and the thin slice of pineapple that was fried with the patty could barely be tasted. Do order the sweet potato fries tho, home made and very good. Our friends ordered Mai Tais and said the were as good as anybodys. Go for the view and drinks but maybe consider ordering something else for dinner....

Great burgers, OK service. I had the burger with the guacamole on it and it was pretty good! It was definitely messy! My sister had the nachos and she was not impressed. The chips were kinda stale, very little meat, and not much cheese on them either.

  • Shelby D.

The service did fine, but the prices here are crazy for what they are serving here. Every burger is 10 bucks or more and they taste no better than something from Carl's jr. The nachos were terribly sad too. The meat on the nachos just tasted like ground beef with some taco seasoning with frozen iceberg lettuce on top. The only reason to go to this restaurant is to be able to write a bad review when you're done. Cheers and good luck here.

Been staying at the Grand Wailea and wanted to try a nice local burger joint. This place was amazing and the meat melts in your mouth. Great selection of beers and the waiters were so nice. Devin our bartender was real good to us. These negative reviews on here are bogus. I dine out a lot and for the price this goes well above a beyond. This is a great place to hang out with good music and TVs for games.

If i can give no stars I would. Where shall i start 1. food not food the bbq pork lunch was horrible. The food taste like it was warmed up from last nights dinner and the macaroni salad--come on --hideous! someone that thought that they could make it but was so so wrong. we were hungry and thought that since this place was in the plaza with Gucci, Prada, Tiffany's and such we were naive for sure... for the people that gave STARS are not knowing what to look for or are impressed by minimal. This food is not up to restaurant stands/bar or otherwise period! if you can't tell when someone is passing to just get by with bad food keep on eating it.

5 stars for the many tv's for watching football and our waitress was wonderful! Zero stars for food, almost unedible. We went for breakfast and got the cheeseburger scrambled...runny and undercooked slop, hash browns crunchy on top, soaking wet on bottom. Pancake we ordered on side was thick and heavy. The Hawaiian bread was good, but if you can't toast bread just shut down.

I unfortunately have to give a 'star' when I'd rather not! This was my second time going to this place within 6months. The waitress was the least bit excited to be working. Didn't look us in the eye. Quickly took our order and that was it. My guest and I received our food. His burger was served on a plastic plate! Seriously? Let's use real plates! And to not serve fries with a burger? Why?! I ordered the fetucini with black grilled chicken? It wasn't exactly grilled that's for sure and there was zero flavor in the pasta sauce. My guess it was all a frozen meal heated up in a microwave and for the price I expected something fresh. We also ordered a appetizer. Guacamole with chips! Let's just say a bag a chips at the grocery store would have topped this off 100times better. They were old, dry and tasteless. The server took our left over meal/plates and oddly saved the guacamole in the side dish which was for the burger that was never touched. I find it disgusting she was going to reuse it! I also find it unsanitary that there's birds flying around the restaurant. I get that it's open air, but this was a smidge to much. Especially sitting at a table with bird poop on the floor and side wall we were sitting at. Def could use some major improvements! I felt dirty after I left!

ummmmmmm. not. cheeseburger was below one star. comparable to a' trying to be gourmet' fast food burger (think carl's jr). they bill it as juicy, drip down your arms cheeseburger. not even remotely close. first of all they cook all burgers medium. yuck. i like mine medium rare. they said its the law(?) fries were good. onion rings were good. and kahula pork was really really good. fish and chips were good. but we ate here for the amazing, ultimate, best you ever had cheeseburgers. so they get two stars. 0 for the burger, 2 for the other food.

We have been here 3 times on our vacation as it is so close to the hotel and VERY reasonably priced! The pastrami burger is AMAZING!!!! the breakfast is amazing as well. Try the loco-Moto! The staff is so helpful and attentive. Ask for Caroline. She is the best waitress EVER. so friendly with a constant smile and if u need anything, she is right there with it.

It took them 35mins to serve burger and the Bun was still cold when it came in Who wants to eat burger with a cold bun? And the hamburger it wasnt that worthied for a burger they said it was angus i dont know what part maybe the rear end of a beef coz taste like one. for that price 12.99 no fries haha that was a joke. I cant believe these guys still allowed to serve. If i can only give no stars i will. Go ahead try your luck. To be disappointed! Thumbs down! Booooo!

My husband and kids and I went here for dinner and oh my god did we make a huge mistake. First we walk in the hostess is walking us to our table then a waitress (a woman in her forties) looking miserable as hell walks up to us and says in such a rude disgusting manner "NO YOUR NOT SITTING THERE" I said excuse me we would like to sit at this table, and she again repeats herself. So I repeated myself again, but only this time I told her if she doesn't move out of the way and let us sit down and feed our children. Never in my life have I ever encountered such unprofessional and rude behavior. I'M SO DISGUSTED BY THIS FORTY SOMETHING WOMANS BEHAVIOR, and my family is never coming back here again. We would rather spend alot of money at Ruth's steakhose next door and get better customer service.

Ick ick ick! There gardenburger is not an actual gardenburger it's something gross of their own creation and when you explain this was not what you expected since gardenburger has a brand you are used to having you are shunned. They hawk their crap as soon as you walk in the door and you have to pay for fries. It's just a gimmick and it got me once. Please don't have it get you too.

Couldn't be more disappointed with our dinner... Burgers don't come fries or any sides; those are extra. Server didn't really know what the special was nor cared to refill our water. The burgers were ok but some ingredients like jalapeños seemed to be straight out of a can. It's a Tourist trap in a high end mall...did not meet expectations for dinner.

Horrible food & service. Undercooked hamburger, asked for well done. Chewy pastrami Cold sweet potatoe fries Took forever to bring basic fruit, when complained of being sick. Turned off sound on game during playoffs.

Visiting Maui and staying at the Marriott thought this would be a good place to take the kids. It was fine for the kids, but my wife and I couldn't even eat our burgers. They had been sitting in warm water for who knows how long and they were awful!

Food was not good but the service is horrible. Our server was rude, got our order wrong and never came by after we got our food (except to drop off the check). If it wasn't for the location, this place would not stay in business.

  • MIchael L.

Place was so so. Fries were mushy and the burger was not bad but you could get the same burger at In n Out or Carls with better fries. Seems like typical tourist trap place like Bubba Gump but since we were at the shops we thought we would give it a shot. Shouldve checked Yelp!!!!

Don't know what all the other bad reviews are all about. We were seated immediately by friendly hostess and out server was very prompt and friendly. The coconut shrimp were delicious. Also had chips and guacamole which were good as well. The place looks like a fun island beach shack and that is the kind of food they serve. If you are expecting chef inspired food go somewhere else, but if you want reasonably priced food in a fun atmosphere this is the place. Will be back before we go home.

Not sure why this place has only two stars because I come here for breakfast every morning when I'm visiting Maui. Compared to the prices at the resort this place is a steal and the food is so much better! I recommend getting their "just eggs please" breakfast meal! I haven't had anything else here but I've been wanting to try their French toast. I will have to try it next time I'm in Maui. And they have $5 mimosas and bloody Mary's, I recommend getting the mimosa with guava juice instead of orange. I call it the Guava-lini!

  • Brian K.

So the things that were wrong. For a "service industry" place they are seriously lacking in the service side. We stood at the hostess stand when the place was empty for a few minutes before anyone even appeared. We asked to sit by a tv to watch a football game. We were told there are TVs everywhere, and were seated no where close to one. (Don't forget the restaurant was empty) After waiting 5 or so minutes at a table, the server who had walked by many times finally stopped. The server was less than personable. The first time she came to the table, not even a hello, just "are you ready to order?" The salad was a bowl of iceberg lettuce and nothing more. Grilled cheese which cost $8 left much to be desired (one piece of cheese and cheap bread) The pineapple that came with it was slightly fermented and browning. You are in Hawaii and you can't even get a good piece of pineapple? Meanwhile no one bothered to ask if everything was ok. The bill was dropped off without even a "thanks for stopping by "or anything Leaves much to be desired. And needs much improvement in personnel.

  • Craig C.

The only reason they get two stars is the friendly server we had. Food was plain to bad. Should have just stuck to a burger versus the rubber calamari and soggy nachos. The Mai tai was the worst I have tasted. The bathroom was under construction so men and women were sharing a bathroom that didn't lock and you had to knock and see what sex was in the room at the time. Really? Who thought this through? Just a bad experience overall and I would avoid

Tourist Trap...don't do it. Hostess was gratuitously rude about the 15 minute wait and, I kid you not, told us to "not cry about it" when after 30 minutes we checked in with her to make sure we did not miss our call. Clearly, the hostesses attitude was acceptable behavior in the restaurant as she and a co-worker were joking about the customer's "crying" about the wait and were openly mocking the customers who were annoyed by the wait while half of the restaurant was unoccupied. The food is no better than the service. Why a restaurant with "cheeseburger" in its name would produce a lousy cheeseburger is a true mystery. The parts that were supposed to be hot were not. The bacon was actually chilled. Nothing like cold bacon. Two little onion circles and a dab of avocado that would make you think that avocados are rare commodities atop a truly blah burger patty. Lousy frozen fries. Why not just make a good burger? This brings back the notion of the true Tourist Trap in Paradise. Not recommended.

Avoid at all costs ! So terrible I can't believe people can mess up a salad like that! husband ordered burger , she got his order wrong and it tasted horrible our entire meal tasted like plastic , I felt that we were eating in a planet from the future that doesn't have ingredients and had to fake all the flavors and textures what a disgrace to all restaurants, their prices aren't the reflection of the "garbage " they serve.

  • Michelle S.

The burgers are good but not anything I would make a trip detour for. Would probably help if they would offer to make them medium rare and not just medium - well done (actually made me wonder a little about the quality of the meat because they were so insistent on menu that it was served medium for health reasons). The guacamole on the burger was great - chunky, homemade as advertised and with a good mix of spice and fresh onion. The service was friendly and attentive.

Absolute crap! I grew up on Maui and had good memories of this place. Returning with my family after years away, it sounded like a good place to go. Way, WAY disappointed. The guacamole for the burger was touted by the waiter as being amazing when it was runny and gross. The burgers and fries were brought to the table luke warm (which, considering other reviews seems to be about as hot as they can make it) and the fries were bland. When the waiter asked how everything was, I told him I was not impressed and why. He smiled awkwardly, gave a half assed "sorry" and walked away. A minute later, the floor manager (short blonde woman in a blue shirt) came around. She asked the same question. Assuming the waiter tipped her off to something being wrong, I told her what was wrong and why. I told her I was really disappointed in the fact that Cheeseburger had really changed over the years and not in a good way. Her response, a similar feeble "sorry" and walked away without saying another word The only thing delivered quickly was the check... $53.00 for two burgers, two mixed drinks, fries and a healthy helping of regret. Clearly customer service, let alone the "aloha spirit" has given way to praying on the tourist customer that they do not expect to return. I have been in the hotel biz for 20 years and even when you don't expect a customer to ever come back, you still make every effort to assure they are happy when they leave. These people couldn't care less... and likely neither does their ownership group.

I could have probably made a better burger out of the dirt on the ground. The coconut shrimp appetizer was pretty good. If you want a far below average meal, come here.

After more research on the reasoning for the poor service we received and talking to some of their staff, it seems we were punished for being friends with one of their previous floor managers. The gm got pissed and and even in his own way. Not a very good way to run a business. We will not be back.

Great place for a burger. I got the Kobe beef burger. My parents got the pastrami burger and shared that. My kid got a basket of fries. The bill came out to be around $74.00 including the tip. Would I eat here again? Probably...

Just got back. First restaurant that I have hit in Maui. Got the Pork Sandwich with a sesame aoli and pineapple slaw, unreal. So perfect. I mean, I'm totes full and wish I had yoga pants on and was on the couch, but it really was the perfect blend of all the flavors. Kendall (guy) was our waiter, super nice and kind and 'not rushy'. Yum. Totally kid friendly too.

We were quite disappointed with everything about this restaurant. I had the veggie burger which was only tolerable. My wife asked for a vegetarian suggestion other than a veggie burger and the waitress provided no help. She ate a dish of French fries. Not again.

Went in just after they opened to order breakfast to go. Was told to go to the bar to order. Sat at the bar and waited 10 mins for the bar tender to appear. He walked up and said, "shit, there's already people at the bar?! I'm not even set up yet!" I was the only person there. He called out, "it's gonna be a few minutes!!" Then continued to slam around the bar and curse under his breath. Finally he said, "what do you need?" I said, "sorry, I just want to put in a To Go order..." And he shook his head, walked to the register, and with his back to me barked out, "what do you want?!" I hadn't even been offered a menu, but felt so shaken up by how rude he was that I just called out a quick order. Then he walked away, muttering, "murphey's law!" I felt so embarassed that I got up and waited at the front of the restaurant so as to not be in the presence of this angry bartender, whose name I believe was Terry, any longer than I had to. Horrible way to treat a customer!

Awful, awful food. My husband and I were looking for a cheaper dinner option as we had had several fancy dinners throughout the week and wanted something more low key, and this was the best we could do. The burgers were beyond awful....clearly a frozen patty, extremely salty, can only be ordered medium well (that should have told us something) and just plain gross. We both felt sick after and could only stomach about half of each burger. Our waitress was complete trash and kept talking about how she hadn't been to bed from the night before, was so hungover, looked unkempt, etc. I don't know how this fancy mall hasn't kicked this place out yet. Don't waste a meal here..even though its the most affordable option, its not worth the taste and the stomach ache after.

Did not go to YELP before coming here. BIG mistake! Worst meal I've had since coming to the island. Total tourist trap. High priced, low quality food. The waitress's shtick was irritating. Sorry :(

Service was really bad in this restaurant. We had Ashley as our server and she was rude. She threw the coasters across the table. The food wasn't that great either. Won't recommend this to our hotel guests.

Ugh. Seems like a relatively popular place for breakfast for the residents of the condos next door to the Shops at Wailea, but please do not have the cheeseburger here. It is not paradise. Honestly, I think this cheeseburger rivaled the one I had at Stinger Ray at the airport before our fight left. Ugh again. My mom had the breakfast burrito, which was decent but greasy. Also, the plastic grass hula skirts for the waitresses are miserable. Please discontinue. Avoid if possible.

You pay for the view.... Not the food.... I love this location, but it's best to go in, grab a drink, and relax for a while. The food is average at best, the drinks are good, but are very over priced for what you get... Then you look out the window and you realize why you went in... Again, don't go for the food, go for the experience and the view...

The food just was not very good. For its location you'd think the quality would be better. Prices are reasonable and service was quick but all in our party of 4 were disappointed.

The burgers and nachos were yummy. The waitstaff was less than polite. We were seated next to a smelly trash barrel. I can't say I wouldn't go back but I think seating at the bar might get you better service.

We both got food poisoning from this place... Plus, the waiters are not very attentive. And they tend to omit things from your order - they forgot the avocado on my "lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich" (which looked pretty poor when served) and they forgot the bacon on my boyfriend's bacon cheeseburger, how do you forget bacon on a bacon cheeseburger? Bottom line, poor quality, poor service, and we both got sick from the food.

We were staying across the street at the Marriott on a recent trip to Maui, and walked by this restaurant one day while shopping. Our first morning of the trip, we ate at the hotel, but were shocked to find that our breakfast was almost $30 per person. We noticed that Cheese Burger in Paradise offered a $6.99 breakfast special, as well as $5 mimosas and bloody marys, so we decided to try it out the next day. The negative Yelp reviews worried me, but I figured it'd be pretty difficult to screw up a basic breakfast, so I disregarded it. The place had a cute feel, with tons of fun and kitschy decor on the walls. We each got the special which came with 2 eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and coffee. Our server was the nicest, sweetest person we had met in Maui. I asked if I could substitute my coffee for tea and she told me unfortunately there were no substitutions. I was totally okay with that, but a few minutes later she came out and brought me the tea anyway. We were fairly satisfied with our meals - the eggs were a little bit runny and the hashbrowns were kinda soggy, but seriously, for $6.99 I wasn't going to complain. It filled us up for the day, what more do you need? My bloody mary was awesome and our server gave us some great recommendations for local food - even writing down the names and directions of the places she suggested (which we then tried for lunch, so good!). Our bill was around $20 for the two of us, which was a lot easier to swallow than over $60! Overall, it was a decent experience and I'd definitely go back for breakfast if ever staying in the area again.

The burgers are "ok" but not worthy of a return visit and definately not something I would crave to have. They are also very expensive at $9.99 - 24.99 and that is only for the burger -- fries are an extra $1.99!! my friend ordered the side of onion rings with his burger and he got THREE onion rings on his plate. The staff are just there for the job. There are so many choices in Maui... head up the street to the Monkeypod or over to Mala's in the Marriott.

My kids and I ate our very first dinner in Maui here, as it was a suggestion from our concierge at our hotel. Big Mistake! This was my experience, and I would not suggest this place to anyone. First of all, I got a bad feeling upon walking into the place, as there was hardly any other customers there, but we were hungry and tired and didn't want to find another place. This place turned out to be the absolute worst dining experience I have EVER had, ever. The waitress was awful, the food was expensive, tasteless and bland, and EXPENSIVE! I realize we were in Wailea, but still. The hamburgers were way undercooked and my daughter was disgusted and had only a milkshake for dinner. The meal didn't include fries, which we ordered separately, but never received, they never came, even after we complained and reminded the waitress. So we asked to speak to the manager, Tony. Tony was unsympathetic and unapologetic about the service, but did take the fries and my daughter's burger off the bill. We left, having spent $60 on 3 burgers and a few drinks. We were still hungry, and tired, and disappointed.

Definitely a welcome place if you are sick of the schmancy fancy places in Wailea. Yeah, it is quite touristy, but it hits the spot. They have a large variety of standard burger fare on the menu, but I enjoyed the lean buffalo burger they offered, and they offer turkey and veggie varieties as well. They serve most drinks with a little umbrella in them which will make any kid at heart happy. They have a decent breakfast special each day which is like $5 for two eggs, hashbrowns and coffee/tea. Not a bad deal for a quick inexpensive bite.

Chili Cheese Dog, too salty Nachos were pretty good and loaded. Island Shrimp Salad was drenched in dressing. Mango and nut sprinkles were very sparse on the salad. I could barely taste it. The salad was awful over all. Waitress was nice.

  • matt C.

Not the place to go if you want good quality food. OK for kids and loud groups. My burger was cold and Definitely Not the best burger in the world as they advertise, nor the Island or even the local area. Lackluster service, no choice in how you want your burger done (well done is their only choice), and our group's meals came out at different times. The only things this place has going for it are the decor and location. Much better choices close by.

I've been to this location twice - once for a later afternoon snack and once for breakfast. The late lunch was after a flight in from the mainland and hit the spot. We ordered several appetizers and a few drinks - I felt the spirit of aloha starting here, but the grease from the fries and wings kept me from pure aloha. Overall, it was the right thing at the right time. Service was a bit slow an confused - the food arrived at different times and they weren't all the accommodating to us. We hit this place up for breakfast, sucked in by the $5.95 breakfast they advertised. The loss leader breakfast was just that - very basic and very small. The rest of the family had pancakes and they were happy, but the portions were pretty small, even for a 3yo and 7yo. Overall, it's a typical chain that's proud of their prices. If it had more TVs, I would consider it sports bar-ish. A good place to hang out, but it's not fine dining or anywhere close.

We were told when entering that we should go someplace else because they were too busy. I wish we listened. We waited half an hour and upon seating we are told we could not order food because the kitchen was backed up. After ordering drinks we were told they could not be delivered because the bartender was too busy. Our appetizers and food took over an hour, and were frankly plain disgusting. Our appetizers actually came after our entrees. The overall feel of the meal was greasy and soggy. The burgers were obviously frozen, as was the fish. It's insulting to dine at a restaurant in Hawaii that serves frozen fish when there is such easy access to fresh. The only upside was our server was attentive and apologetic. I would never ever EVER eat here again.

I should've read up on my Yelp review before we stepped foot into this joint. The mall was pretty happening that night but they were able to seat us immediately. We browsed through the menu and was wondering why there wasn't a keiki menu/plate like most of the other joints we've been to on this Maui vacation. Oh well, so we ordered some nacho appetizer plate, an order of kobe sliders, and then a specialized cheese burger. The waitress never bothered to ask if we needed a kids sized meal even though we had two (3 & 5 yr olds) sitting at the same table. As the food arrived, we were less than impressed with the dishes. Nachos was probably the tastiest, with the pulled pork actually being tender and flavorful. The kobe beef sliders and cheeseburger, on the other hand, left more to be desired... afterall, isn't this place called "cheeseburger island style?" Shouldn't the burgers be at least their specialty? Anyway, as we were wrapping up our meal, we noticed some 10~12 year olds coloring on some keiki menu coloring sheets. Oh, hullo?!? Why didn't the hostess or the waitress offer it to us? It would've made it easier for us to order instead of trying to split larger plates for our small appetites. Whatevers, we won't be back.

    (2)
  • Deena C.

Not a bad spot for lunch. We split the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger and were pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Definitely big enough to split. Our service was ok, a bit absent after we ordered the burger to split, but overall it was an ok experience. Good choice for lunch, but probably wouldn't go for anything else.

  • James T.

We just went there and had an easy lunch. We ordered the cheeseburger, chicken chinese salad, onion rings, season fries and chicken wings. The cheeseburger was nice and juicy, a little on the salty side a bit, but not everywhere. The chicken salad, the dressing is a little sweet for our taste. The rest was wonderful, atomosphere is pretty quick, since we went there for lunch.

Skip it, unless you're here for the bar and an app or two. Pros: The waiters are friendly, the food comes out quickly, and it is one of the few cheap places to eat in Wailea that is not a complete ripoff. Two people can eat here all in for under $50. Some good beer specials. Cons: It's like a Hawaiian TGI Fridays. Burgers were crazy dry (maybe an off night?) with onions in them that made them taste like meatloaf and the sweet potato fries lacked flavor. Mediocre in the food department. Place is crawling with kids and the waiters wear grass skirts over their shorts. Cheesy and loud! If you have kids this might be up your alley because the prices are decent, it's family friendly, and the menu has a lot of choices for picky eaters. Otherwise, reconsider.

  • JR W.

Incredibly BAD service. AAt there twice for dinner during our stay in Wailea area. Had to ask for everything, including someone to take our order. Food was only a 6 out of 10. Unfortunately there is only Tommy Bahama's and Ruths Chris as alternatives in the shopping center.

    (1)
  • Kate T.

Not worth the price. A smoothie was $6 and no i did not get it. The fries were yummy but otherwise the food was not worth the epics. I need a quick place for my daughter and I to eat and while it worked fine we paid $6.99 for Kraft Mac and cheese. She did eat all of it ;) I had a bacon avocado and tomato sandwich and it was ok but definitely not worth 11.99. Don't waste your time or money. Staff is friendly!

It is exactly what it says it is - Burgers! This place is great if you post up at the bar, watch a game on the TV - stick to burgers, enjoy the drinks from the bartender and the company you are with. Good meal, good service, decent prices for the island...we hit this place every time we are there...for sure order the caramel, turtle, ice cream pie dessert thing...so yummy!

Service was awful and the food is worse. Fish tacos were stale tortillas with dry halibut, stacked with piles of lettuce. How can you serve bad fish in Hawaii? My 14 year old had a marginal cheeseburger and ate half of it, because he was starving. We got there a half hour before happy hour ended and the waitress seemed like she was trying to avoid serving us anything during happy hour prices. Miserable experience.

  • Vee S.

Before I even sat down the hostess didn't bother to acknowledge me while on the phone. Not even a smile, nod or anything to let me know she noticed me. She sat me and my friend at a table in awkward location where they were was no view even though there were plenty of empty tables. It took over a half hour to get a Caesar salad with chicken. Aside from that, I asked for no cheese and it came with it anyway. The chicken on the salad was alright, but a bit dry. Our waitress was nice, but on the way out a hostess and another waitress were too busy laughing to notice me thanking them. Long short, just don't bother. If you happen to be there and are really hungry it's not terrible, but overall there are PLENTY better places.

We are extremely pleased with this Cheese Burger location. When we visited in May it was so-so. We were surprised because it had always been deeeelish! Now, during our most recent visit on August 1st, the food, service and entertainment was back up to EXCEPTIONAL. The chicken stir fry was fresh and delicious with just enough spice, the chili dog was sinfully good, the kids chicken plate was not the typical mediocre kid's plate but tender and delicious. Our first visit this trip was August 1st at around 6pm and the music was so enjoyable we lingered over our meal longer than usual. Atmosphere was lovely and the choice of songs was perfect for a relaxing evening out. The entertainer was just one gentleman with a guitar and a pleasantly expressive voice. We truly enjoyed his choice of songs. Our server, Melissa, was very Aloha. We returned a few days later for a late lunch hoping our second visit would be a repeat of the first...and it was even better. Even with the renovations off to the side the hostess did a good job of seating us at a distance. The server and food was just as good. The salad was crisp, the onion rings crunchy and not too salty and the burger was perfect. All the island flavors made it a special meal. The food is yummy, the atmosphere is clever and fun, no rushy rushy, plenty of smiles and lots on the plate!

Meh - not bad enough to give it a 2 - but it's your average touristy burger joint. The swiss and mushroom burger was big enough to split for 2 (sweet potato fries needed more seasoning) but overall a pleasant quick bite to eat experience. Best thing we had there was the home made guacamole... that i would recommend.

  • Phil E.

Yup, its a decent burger. Onion rings are pretty good, but nothing special here. If you are needing a break from seafood and need a reminder of the mainland, stop on in. I know Hawaii is expensive, but this place is a little much for what it is. Burgers are already 11+ and then you still have to order fries in addition.

The restaurant formerly known as "Cheeseburgers, Mai Tais and Rock n' Roll" is now referred to as "Cheeseburger Island Style". I'm not sure why the name changed, but it is still owned by the same corp./people. I dined at the restaurant once before when it was known by it's original name. It was really a fun place and had tasty food. Fast forward 5 years.... We came here for dinner one night whilst on vacay. Service was really slow. The poor waiter was covering numerous tables so I understand the slowness factor. When our food FINALLY arrived, I couldn't wait to take a bite of my veggie burger. After the first bite I was a little disappointed. The burger was not as tasty as I remember. Of course time can change memories, but I swear my veggie burger was better last time. If I remember correctly, the burger was actually made on site rather than a preformed burger that I can buy at my local grocery store. Not that I have an objection to the burgers I purchase at my local store. If I would have known that this is how the burger was going be, I would have ordered something different, like a turkey burger. Oh well. I still enjoyed myself and had a fun dinner with my family.

I ate here with the family to get away from the high price hotel food hoping that no one can screw up a burger. The food was decent, but the service was terrible. We waited for ever and the server had an attitude. When we were leaving the server chased us out to tell us he gave us the wrong bill. The real bill was $5 more. I told him to take it out of his tip since I had it by this point. I would chose another option than this place.

I would never go here again. We decided to meet some friends here for breakfast. What a horrible idea. We got there before the rest of our party. The hostess asked how many people. I told her I wasn't sure. Maybe 7 or 8. So when the rest of our party arrived and it was 10 we told her 10. She gave me a look, rolled her eyes and said "You said 8!" Like I was troubling her. AND I told her I wasn't sure. I should've left right there. But we went in anyways. We sat down and put our drink orders in. Now we weren't in much of rush since we were talking but there were 2 small children in our party. They took our orders and our drinks came out. So far, so good. Then 20 minutes later - I kid you not - the waitress comes by and asked for clarification on one of the orders. We were thinking - what the heck??? She hasn't put our order in yet? So we wait, and wait. We have to take the kids out to walk around. Another half our later our food comes out and it was horrible! My husband got the make your own omelette. Nothing special and it was small. I got the french toast it was literally like cardboard. I was starving and still barely ate it. It was like they forgot the eggs or something. What a disappointment. Bad service, bad food = 1.5 stars. They shouldn't be allowed to use "island style" cause that definitely is not how us islanders do it!

  • Rod K.

Can't believe how really, REALLY bad the food is here. Worst turkey burger I've ever had. Just couldn't eat it. So I tried the grilled mahi tacos. Guess what. Worst fish tacos too. The other three in my party were equally disgusted. Also the servers are over worked so the service is horrible. Thinking of eating here?? Just say "No".

I visited Cheeseburger Island Style a few times on my recent trip to Maui, all visits were early afternoon and I sat at the bar. Carrie, perhaps the friendliest and most helpful bartender I've encountered, served us each time. A good selection of local beers (Hawaiian beers tend to be too sweet for my IPA preferred tastes) and burger options. I had the Kahlua pork nachos, which were awesome, and I say that as a lover of all things nacho. My wife had the loko moko and loved it. Huge portions, so come hungry. Happy hour is from 3PM - 6PM and there's a lot of cheap eating and drinking options on the menu. Most of all - Our bartender Carrie was amazing each time. She helped us out with what to do on the island (my first time there, short on time) and was just a pleasure. For us, she gave the place a joyful vibe. I do wish there was a view of something other than a parking lot, but the closer you get to the water the higher the prices.

Sign in for just adding my advice: Please be away from this place, even though you are very hungry. Both my coworker and I ordered Hawaii chicken sandwich, the bread is very dry, it is at least one week old, and is from Costco. chicken breat has no flavor, and too dry to digest, worest chichen meat i had in my life. There are not many guests there, but we still waited very long for them to bring the sandwich, which only requires chicken to be cooked.

Aw, this place has so little stars! My boyfriend and I were wandering around the little mall and we were craving some American food for a change. We sat down and ordered the pastrami cheeseburger and the cheeseburger island style. They were both really good but their onion rings were the BEST! mmm! The service was whatever and our waitress was a little stinky! haha but the food was yummy :)

Not the best service we've had when we expected good old Hawaiian hospitality. They charged us one night $0.25 for ranch... Food was okay.

We got the Kobe burger... it was like $18 or something like that. It was Ok size. We got it with bacon, mushrooms, guacamole, and swiss cheese - YUM! We also got the onion rings. It all tasted good and came out fairly quickly. We liked our server. Our experience was good! We would eat here again.

The waitress was terrific, but she couldn't make up for the awful food. The nachos had literally no cheese, the burgers were overcooked and dry and the fish we ordered was chopped up and unrecognizable.

  • Meredith G.

We were hungry and this sounded good. It was good and I finished my burger. The onion rings were a little overcooked, but my burger was juicy. They don't do rare burgers unless you get the Kobe so my mom was up sold to the $15 8 oz burger, but she loved it and posed for a silly picture.

  • Kyle B.

Ate here twice when we were in Maui. Food was great both times - Kobe burger & then Mahi Mahi sandwich. Fries were $5 for a basket but can easily be shared by 2 or 3 people! Only gave it two stars because the service was awful both times. The first time our waitress was trying to push the Kobe burger on my friend and when he declined was extremely rude. The second time we asked the waiter to split the check among the 5 of us & he was very rude claiming we should have asked before ordering. That would be fine, except we are all in our early 20s and not dining with our parents. He should assume we are separate!

For a place that claims to have 5 napkin burgers, I barely needed 1. We had a party of 6 and 5 of us ordered burgers. They tasted ok but completely devoid of any juiciness and arrived luke warm. Two of the burgers arrived with the wrong toppings and they completely forgot our onion rings. They were out of a couple of their menu draft beers, and I was informed 10 minutes after my order that they were also out of the one I ordered. When the onion rings finally arrived we were almost done our meals so no one felt like eating them anymore....they were also not worth the wait. The waitress was apologetic and did not charge us for the rings as well as gave us a 15%discount. She made the excuse that they were busy, but at least the burgers should have been great.........they were not!!!

  • B W.

Advertised as a five napkin cheeseburger but I would rank it at 1/2 a napkin. Very dry. Just lettuce and some kind of sauce - no tomato. Should have known when the waiter said we should upgrade to Kobe burgers ($16) as the regular Angus Burger were frozen patties and not organic. The onion rings were good but the service here is always slow. ]I don't know what is going on as they used to have great burgers.

    (2)
  • Sean S.

service and drinks were fine.... but the food wasn't. Fries were cold. Waitress said were the 3rd group to send back fries that afternoon. burgers were only warm, bland, and very dry. They advertise a 5 napkin burger but the meat was cooked so much there was 0 juice left inside. lacked seasoning.... hardly a great burger. bacon was crisp though. wouldn't recommend eating here unless in a pinch.

I am giving this a two because the breakfast was great but no reason to fool you about the main attraction because the burger was hugely disappointing. My husband had the Mahi sandwich and said it had no flavor. Great atmosphere and service if going there for breakfast or drinks!!

Good place for a drink and a burger, but it won't be a highlight of your visit to Maui. Cheeseburger Island Style use to be Cheeseburgers in Paradise. The menu still tells the story of the two girls from California starting the place. But somehow they've lost the right to the "In Paradise" part of the name. I hope no one has the rights to the word "paradise." Located in the Wailea Mall, it's a handy location. With over-friendly servers, they have a large menu - lots of cheeseburger alternatives, plus dozens of other choices. The decor is very touristy and there's no view. You won't see locals eating here, not even the clerks from the mall. I enjoyed a tasty local beer, Big Wave Golden Ale. Their burgers are not charcoal grilled, but still have good meat. They're decent size, on fresh buns, with all the fixings. When this was Cheeseburgers in Paradise they served their pina colada in a whole pineapple. Now it's served in a ceramic pineapple. It makes you feel like you're sipping booze from one of your great-aunt's knickknacks. Nothing like the feel of holding a real pineapple in your hand while drinking the contents.

I had a much better food experience here than I did at their original location in Lahina on my previous trip to Maui. Even with a large group of us, the food came out pretty fast and everyone seemed happy with their food choices. Nothing was too greasy and the drinks packed a healthy punch. I had the kobe burger with guacamole, bacon, a chile pepper and cheese. It was delicious, but terribly messy so I had to down it fairly quickly. That's not really a fault of theirs, I think I just overloaded my bun with delicious.

Came here to watch the Giants game and decided to sit at the bar with my sister and boyfriend. We decided to order the Kalua pork nachos and a couple beers - how could that NOT be good, right? Wrong. The first thing my dining mates and I noticed was how rude the bar tender was. I don't know if she was having a bad day or just doesn't have the right personality to work at the bar, but she just was straight up unpleasant and the bar wasn't even busy at all. Not only was the bar tender snotty and rude (she had dark hair and a short Kate Gosselin hair cut), but our nachos came out 40 minutes after we ordered them...WITHOUT the pork AND they looked absolutely disgusting! How do you mess up nachos?! So we bring this to her attention because our bill said we ordered pork nachos (the bill came before the nachos ever did) and she says, "Oh shit" and comes back with a plate of pork to throw on top. We should have just sent them back because they were so not worth the $12.95 we paid for them. I've had better nachos at Chevy's, and I hate that place! Furthermore, the pork tasted like the kind we bought at Costco. We could have easily made this ourselves the right way and in under 15 minutes. Do not waste your time here!!

Having previously eaten at the Lahaina location, I was expecting a decent meal. I expected too much. The food was very average at best and the service was the worst we had on Maui. Granted, it's a lower cost dining option, but still.... I will not return and could not not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I was stuck at my condo while the wife was off doing bridesmaid duty with her friends, so I was wandering around trying to find a bite to eat. I stumbled upon this place at the Shops at Wailea and thought I'd check it out. I ordered the "Kobe" sliders with fries and a coconut porter from the Maui Brewing co. The sliders did not live up to their name. The plate came with four sliders on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes with some soggy sauteed onions. Cheese was bland. The patties were about the size of a half dollar but the buns were twice that size. The meat was dry and unimpressive. But the real kicker was the tomatoes that they provided. The tomatoes were HUGE. They were even too big for a regular hamburger (almost 6 in in diameter!!!!) What am I supposed to do with that? The fries were actually pretty good but the best part of the meal was the coconut porter. For a place that has "cheeseburger" in its name, they should really be making better sliders than this...

I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. I came here with my husband and son and we had a good time. The restaurants in the Wailea Shops were all expensive (Ruth's Chris...Tommy Bahamas) and after a day of shopping and a week in Maui cheap seemed like the best option. Everyone was super friendly. My son is almost 2 and everyone talked to him and asked him questions and gave him high 5's! My angus burger was pretty good as were the fries. My hubby said that the chocolate cake dessert was to die for. There was a great live musician who took requests and was really fun. My son danced in the aisles and entertained all around us...we had a nice time and didn't break the bank!

Bleh - this place is a waste of overpriced food space and money! In all its kitschy glory, there is nothing great about the restaurant. The menu boasts best burger for the freshness of ts ingredients, and while I definitely tasted a freshness in its daily baked bread, the cheese, avocado (got the guacamole cheeseburger), tomato and lettuce, for over $8 for the burger itself (fries and onion rings are extra), the over-cooked beef patty dominated and there was no saving it! Additionally, the service was simply sub-par. There seemed to be a plethora of servers, but no one to actually serve. We came to the restaurant after overheating down on Makena, and I begged for a shady spot and some reprieve - so why did I have to end up getting up to go to the bar in search of a simple glass of water (long after ordering my meal, and the each of us having gone to the restroom)? The server was good at disappearing, and even with my searching eyes, none of the other 8 or so (serving about 3 other tables) could fill in for ours. REALLY DISAPPOINTING! Please don't waste your money here. You're way better off just grabbing a POG and spam musubi at the ABC in the same shopping complex.

Came for happy hour. I came sandy. I came from the beach. Got two sliders at $1.75ea and a basket of huge onion rings at $6. The banana smoothie was ok. It was alright, nothing I couldnt find back home. (see pics)

Decent place to go for a casual, under-the-radar kind of meal. Burgers are gigantor and juicy. Fish menu items are not worth it, and the 'coleslaw' is, well, disgusting. Overall, just a cheap place to grab a meal. Best for families, as we spotted numerous families composed of more than 3 children. Not great food, but let's all give a huge KUDOS to those servers, each and every one of whom are forced to wear those gadawful hula skirts.

Hello, We stayed in the Wailea area of Maui in December and didn't have a car so opted for nearby options. This place is definitely the low-cost option in the expensive Wailea resort area. I noticed a lot of families with kids which makes sense over the more gourmet restaurants which may not have had kid-friendly options. I went twice and thought it was enough once we found albeit more expensive but more tasty options. The first time I had the fish sandwich, the fish was really bland with no seasoning and the second time I had the burger which was ok. Cocktails were good and servers were very nice. I would say it's the Hawaiian Applebees, maybe Chilis might be too much.

We ate one of breakfast meals here- can not beat the price, especially in such a pricey area. We both ordered the breakfast special, which was 6.99!!! It was perfect. Coffee was decent. Service was fair. I would recommend for breakfast!

came here for the convenient location but should have taken the bad reviews on yelp seriously. i was thinking, how bad can it be? well, the burgers were awful. like another yelp review mentioned, these were definitely frozen patties. not juicy at all but rubbery consistency. flavorless. the fries were meh. the onion rings were good. the service was slooow (maybe it takes a while to thaw the frozen patties?) tables were dirty. not only that, they tried to short us $5 at the end. when we pointed it out, they didn't even protest - like they knew and were hoping to get away with it since most clients are tourists.

Had decent burgers here, with a tasty order of fries. VERY expensive place, add a couple drinks and it's going to be over $50 with tip. Not sure it's worth it, but there are few options in Wailea.

Lots of excuses for poor service! I sat at the bar for beer and lunch. the bartender was staring at the computer screen for 3 minuets just staring at it then left and came back with someone else and they starred at it together I asked the guy siting next to me if I had turned invisible. Long story. 10 min wait for a beer had a hotdog cause it's hard to mess that up ! Cold dog cold fries Never Again!!! Beer was cold only good thing .

Service was slower than I like. Burgers weren't bad, but I ordered the blue cheese burger and it came with about a teaspoon worth of blue cheese on it. Kinda stingy on the ingredients but an ok dining experience.

Beware, brother beware... The food is horrible and the service is even worse. The mushroom burger came with a grand total of 6 mushroom chips (not enough for 1 whole mushroom). Mentioned this to the manager and she claimed things are portioned controlled. Looks like they use very small portions to go along with the big prices. Our server was much more interested in talking to her co-workers and socializing with a few tables rather than greeting us and taking our drink and food order. We sat there for 10 minutes watching her talk and ignore us and then she seemed insulted when we asked for some service. I guess some people just think they deserve a tip for doing nothing... My advise - save the gut rot by skipping this dump and go eat at Longhi's where they know how to take care of their customers and they have a hamburger lunch special made with real beef, instead of the pseudo beef that this dump serves.

OK, I like this place. I've eaten here five different times and never had a bad experience. It's not Mala's, or Longhi's, or Ruth Chris Steak House but, if you're hungry for a cheeseburger, this is the place! I totally like casual places and somehow plastic-grass-skirt-wearing servers are just my style. Each time I've eaten here I enjoy talking with the servers and they're always regular folks and friendly. The food is fresh and well-prepared. I don't like that french fries are extra but they are. But, if you choose to get them, they're great. Again, this is a cheeseburger place. It's not to be compared with fine restaurants in the area. But, if you're hungry, it's a great place for lunch or light dinner. Oh, and I like The Shops at Wailea Shopping Center too!

I love Melissa M's review. Do RUN AWAY. I thought I was being an LA snob, but hey it doesn't matter- a good burger is a good burger no matter where you are from. This place hasn't figured it out. I had the Black and blue burger (Burger with Blue Cheese). How can you go wrong with a burger with Blue cheese and bacon. Somehow Cheeseburger Island Style managed to do so. They shouldn't put the name, "Island" at this joint because it is offensive to connect themselves to Hawaii. I also had margaritas and a side of onion rings. Margaritas were weak and just not good. I thought maybe the onion rings wiould be promising. For god sake, Burger King can make awesome onion rings. Unfortunately they were also tasteless. The worst part of all this is that they are actually kind of pricey place too!

WHERE FOOD POISONING COMES TO DINE (or die) SO GROSS! Do NOT eat here! This is a restaurant where you walk out feeling like you just got mugged.......beat up physically, and ripped off......... and that's just the part before the nausea really kicks in. Not sure why the place was so packed. We were part of a wedding party, and needed to eat something good and quick. Clearly it was just filled with people who didn't know better (like us), and who maybe didn't want to spend the $$ on the better restaurants nearby and had no other choice. As I later discovered, you're far better off eating the fresh sandwiches across the way at the Whaler's General Store. I won't go into details as to the many ways our food was served wrong initially as to spare you from some of the nausea. Once we had to have the server (who was very sweet and embarrassed), get us the manager, we started to see where some of this restaurant's problems may have stemmed from. The manager Marge, or Margi literally looked and acted like she should be a bartender at a smoky, biker dive bar, not a manager of a restaurant in Wailea. Rather than being apologetic, and accommodating, she seemed defensive, and very rude about getting our order fixed. Finally when we were on the verge of walking out (which I only wish we had done), she got us out some burgers that appeared much better than the previous ones (with a horrible attitude). Moral of the story: Never make important decisions on an empty stomach. We should have trusted our guts on this one, and walked out. Instead, being famished, we ate there, and ....... we made our guts pay, or our guts made us pay, or whatever....... you get the horrible point. I may have thought this was just a VERY very bad day for this restaurant, had I not seen how rudely, and badly management handled the situation, and had I not read some of the other reviews which only support what I now know. This place is a tourist trap of the worst kind. I wish there was more I could do to warn people to stay far away from the place.

The first place we decided to go upon arriving in Maui. Burgers sounded awesome, and we figured there was no way we could go wrong with cheeseburgers. We were sorely disappointed! The burgers were decent, but not for over 15 bucks, especially when it's not made with beef. It was probably some pork/spam-type meat thing, which tasted okay but bothered us the whole time because we were really craving beef. The coconut shrimp appetizer was pretty decent. One star for the good-natured waiters & waitresses, and one for the excessive amount of alcohol in my Mai Tai =)

You guys are so critical. Yes. The bathrooms were dirty. They seem intent on upselling. Even reading the menu, I noted, "I feel dirty." We originally stumbled in because I thought it was a Margaritaville. But this is simply a burger dive in a strip mall. If you want luxury, go down the block to the Four Seasons for lunch. The burgers are decent. The drinks were good. The service seemed uninterested. But, to all the critics, I am a "New York snob", this place has "island style" in the name. This restaurant was much nicer than some of the Caribbean places that I have eaten at. Was I blown away? No. But I had a filling lunch for two for around $30. Next time I am in Wailea (hopefully sooner than later), I would def pop in and grab a burger again.

Awful awful bad bad bad. My sister and I came here for happy hour and it was not busy. It took 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order. Another 20 to get our drinks - not foo foo just vodka soda. Another 10 to get the tab, and another 10 to get change, which she ran out of and consisted of a bunch of coins. Go next doe to Longhi's who has a better happy hour and great service.

2nd time that we've come here on the day we arrived into Wailea as it's in between meals and we want to have something moderately priced (for the area) and we know what to expect. While it is a little spendy for a burger place, it meets our expectations. The service was a little slow on this last visit, but I'm sure we'll be back again on the day we fly in and arrive in Wailea.

you think our mai tai's and pina coladas were the only ones donning umbrellas? nope. SO WAS MY BURGER. PINEAPPLE cheeseburger drenched in teriyaki sauce, to be more exact. reg fries were fat and slightly crunchy like kfc's potato wedges. Yum, cholesterol.

The mall at Wailea doesn't exactly have a ton of eateries, but my wife and I wandered into the Cheeseburger Island Style restaurant for a quick bite. We kept it simple, since we weren't super-hungry. We split their signature cheeseburger and a plate of onion rings. Was it the best burger? Naw...I'd prefer a Five Guys burger, but when you're in Hawaii, you're going to get stuck paying $10+ for a burger if you're in a restaurant. Their burger is decent--and they use a great bun. The setting is nice--very Tommy Bahama, complete with ocean view. They also have a restaurant in Lahaina (if you're in Maui) that's right on the water on Front St. If you're looking for a quick, cheap bite, go to a local plate-lunch type place (like Local Food in Lahaina). If you want a burger in a nice setting, Cheeseburger Island Style is a decent choice (though I think Kimo's is a better choice).

Ok i'm glad that this place didn't have better reviews. I can't say enough horrible things about this place. First of all the service was horrifying. They told us 10 minute wait and 50 minutes later, still waiting. We waited 30 minutes to place our order despite our pleading the waiter, who kept telling us he had to help other customers first. Folks that came way after us received their food before we even ordered. I couldn't believe that a cheese burger place would only serve their burger's medium well (NO PINK) and they won't budge on this. The food/service was not good. Try Lahaina Pizza Company instead! This place is amazing! Can't say enough good things about it! We will go back there again before we leave!

The best spot for something "easy" in this ritzy area. We went here after we were tired of "nice" dinners and just wanted to have something quick and casual... great walking distance option in Wailea. The food is just meh compared to the options in the area, but their shakes are REALLY good!

    (3)
  • Rob P.

Went for breakfast. It's not bad. We had breakfast wrap and pineapple pancakes. Wrap was good, but the hash browns and abundance of cheese inside make it pretty greasy. That aside, it tastes good. Pancakes were good, although they put the pineapple on top vs. in the pancake.

Just ate there for lunch, table for 6. We had 4 burgers, one chicken sandwich and a mahi sandwich. The burgers where greasy, the fries and onion rings where cooked to a dark brown, indicating the oil had not been changed in a while and the mahi tasted old. Pretty nasty really. The beer was good, and the service ok. There are many, many better choices in the area, we didnt yelp it 1st and we paid the price, oh and the check total was $110 with the mandatory tip.

Food was good for lunch and it is a good place for a decent burger. The servers are very friendly and it isn't as costly as nearby options. Their 'Trouble' cocktail is very tasty!

What a miserable, horrible experience. The staff were working a typical tourist scam. We waited two hours for water. I know dumb us. We spoke to the waitress, the manager and the front of the house staff but still water came after two hours. WOW. What a waste of an evening in Hawaii. Wouldn't go back on a dare.

Took the kids to lunch here today. The burgers were decent. They are the high-end kind with fancy buns and better quality meat. The people were very friendly but the service was slow. Would I come back here again? Yes, but not if any of my family members were famished or in a lousy mood. You had to be patient with the slow but very friendly staff.

Food was terrible. I ordered the aloha chicken tenders and they forgot them but brought the rest of my family food. When they did arrive, they were soaked in grease. They didn't even bother with shaking the grease off before they placed them in front of me!! Over priced for poor food and poor service. Very close to our condo and in the shopping center, but the time your save driving there is not worth it.

    (1)
  • Sandy Y.

Went here because it was the only restaurant that looks like it was still serving late at night and we wanted a casual atmosphere compared to all those fine dining we will be doing the next few days. The food was ok. My husband really liked his Island burger with the pineapple and teriyaki sauce. I got the royal burger which was ok and nothing special. The service was mediocre. The Mai tai was however the best I've had on the Island.

It's simple; avoid this place. Health department, please come inspect/shut down. Kid's grilled cheese accompanied by fruit cup with rotten pineapple; nice touch. My wife vomited 3 times as a result of this place (1 bite of her burger). I had two bites of my burger and realized it was not worth wasting the calories or risking my health. Scary and amazing that this place stays in business.

Overpriced. Awful food. Avoid at all costs. I even complained to the manager in a polite way and he took NOTHING off the bill. Terrible way to treat a patron. But that's what you get from a tourist trap.

  • Teresa K.

Another good option for breakfast off resort. They have an early bird breakfast special that was $4 before 9am, we weren't up that early but even the regular breakfast menu was priced great. I think most plates were under $9. Nothing special, really kitschy decor, open air and easy to get into.

    (3)
  • Kim N.

We came here for dinner after spending the afternoon shopping at the Shops of Wailea. We were greeted by a friendly host and immediately seated. The menu is extensive and of course their speciality is cheeseburgers. We ordered the cheeseburger and the greek salad. The cheeseburger was excellent! The service was a little slow and we had to ask our waitress twice to refill our drinks. The restaurant has outdoor seating but the view is of the parking lot. They did have live music which was very nice. I would come back here since the location is convenient and the prices are very reasonable.

    (3)
  • Mike J.

My wife read me a review about this place, which stated that the milkshakes were "great". After that, I was excited to have a burger and shake at this place as it was relatively inexpensive for Maui. By "great", the reviewer must have meant "awful" because that was the worst milkshake I have ever had! It was small for the price (wife and I wanted to share), which by itself would have been fine, but it was almost tasteless, bland, and more milk than shake. Wife thought the same, so it's not just me. Food was good, although we are spoiled in So Cal with damn good burgers, so I'm a tough critic on burgers. For the price it was good, but not special at all. In N Out has better burgers, fries and DEFINITELY shakes. If you want dessert, skip this place and head to Lappert's a few stores down!

    (2)
  • Melissa B.

Started a family tradition years ago to have our first meal here after landing and prior to check in (obviously had not read the reviews!). Food is always good, love the teriyaki burger. The veggie patty is yummy however they charge $2 extra for it. Unfortunately, fries come separately and the burgers and drinks are expensive. Service can be slow but usually friendly.

    (3)
  • Tanny Y.

Whoa customer service here sucks! I swear if you look young they pay you no attention and take a long time to serve you your food at this joint. Not to mention the lack of bringing us utensils and condiments. We ordered the mahi mahi sandwich, some kind of burger, the eggs Benedict, and pancakes. The only thing that was good was the pancakes. It was fluffy, but everything else was mediocre. I felt so jipped considering this place was pricey. I would never go here again. Take your money elsewhere.

    (1)
  • Candace L.

Oddly enough, my husband and I really enjoyed this place. It was a nice break from the seafood and the salads we were eating all the time. We really liked the cheeseburger with the pineapple and the pork nachos. Service was great.

  • Julie N.

Julie started to get the chills because we had not shopped at a high end boutique in a few days, so we took a long drive to the Shops of Wailea. There were only 2 restaurants there plus the deli shop at the Whalers General Store. The menu at the Tommy Bahama cafe didn't appeal to us, so we came here for lunch. We split the cheeseburger sliders (4 of them) and it was okay. Julie liked the seasoned fries. Overall, it was okay for lunch. The whole shopping center was practically empty on a Friday afternoon before Christmas.

So we were hungry and I we didn't want to spend a lot of money, plus it was right there. It's like a T.G.I.Fridays decided to go vacation in Honolulu. I think they use kitsch and peppiness as distractions so you don't realize how unimpressive the food is. But you can't help but notice when you order a guacamole cheeseburger and there is a spot of guac on it. The guacamole is the part that makes it a GUACAMOLE cheeseburger, otherwise you might as well just call it a cheeseburger with a side of guac. The appetizer came about two minutes before the entrees. Blah. The whole place is sub par. Would probably never go there again unless I was dying of hunger. Even then I would probably die before the over priced food got to me. p.s. the coconut shrimp appetizer was kind of good. hence the two stars. Plus I guess the service could have been worse.

We were walking around the shops at Wailea and were VERY VERY hungry for something. Anything. The closest place was Cheeseburger Island Style. I didn't care what anybody was thinking back home, I NEEDED food! This place has the most... DELICIOUS SUCCULENT MOUTHWATERING MOIST AMAZING MARVELOUS burger I have ever indulged in my mouth. I'm from Beverly Hills, where a normal dish is a red wine risotto, but these cheeseburgers are beyond yummy. I'm definetly coming back. I guess one can have amazing food without having high expectations.... P.S.: Don't tell anybody back home... hahaha

We were having a tough time finding an open restaurant on Christmas eve. Walking through the Wailea shopping mall, we stumbled upon the Cheesburger place. it was not very crowded which made it perfect for us. our waitress was very friendly and made very good recommendations for our dinner. The traditional drink of Hawaii, the Mai Tai was amazing. Drinks overall very awesome. We liked the food as well. The place was well managed and friendly. Overall we had a good experience.

Good foodG Great service. I highly recommend trying the loco moco! It's incredible. My kids enjoyed the menu as well. My daughter had the kids menu hot dog and my son (1 1/2) shared with all of us. The place is well kept, cool even on a hot day (it was on the high 80's when we were there).

    (4)
  • M S.

If I could give less than one star, I would. There are better options available for cheeseburger fare from fast food. The burgers were overpriced (sorry, more than $100 for a less than fast food quality dinner for four people?), overcooked and the restaurant underserved: we waited 20 minutes for our waiter's first visit and another 10 for our drinks. Food arrived after an hour wait and was memorable in that we will remember never to visit this restaurant again. Don't waste your time, money or appetite here.

    (1)
  • Laura H.

Nothing special! Very pricey for your basic cheeseburgers (Carl's Jr) and fries. We also ended up with extra items that we never ordered or received being charged to our bill, good thing we looked at our bill closely. Service was just OK.

After a lovely morning at Wailea Beach we headed to The Shops at Wailea to grab a bite to eat and do a little retail therapy. We've passed by the Cheeseburger in Paradise on Front Street several times and it was always packed so it was a refreshing change to see this place was not as busy and we could get seated right away. We were seated in the rear of the restaurant near the restrooms. It was a great table since we were blessed with a glorious breeze that kept us cool during our whole meal. The server comes over (kinda rushed) and takes our drink orders. *TIP - don't fall for ordering the BOTTOMLESS DRINKS. They cost $$ and are you really gonna sclep that cheapy plastic mug in your luggage? At first I fell for it but then quickly realized by ordering a regular drink I still got free refills. For lunch I order the Tasty Turkey Burger. I was kinda disappointed since the hubby makes awesome turkey burgers all the time and this one from CIS was just dry and tasteless. I did however enjoy the ONO Onion Rings! Delicious!!! The hubby ordered the Royal Ali'l Cheeseburger which he devoured so we will assume he loved it. My daughter got a Bacon Cheeseburger and my son ordered Chicken Tenders off the kids' menu. All in all we could proudly say we ate Cheeseburgers Island Style, but for my money I prefer THE COUNTER!

    (3)
  • Alison A.

Yuck. No. The service was absolutely terrible. Not only slow, but our waiter was rude at worst, indifferent at best, and didn't seem too bright to boot. We ordered a peanut butter sandwich for our daughter ... and what we received was a prepackaged Smuckers pb&j sandwich tossed on a plate -- disgusting! Worse than a school cafeteria -- what restaurant can possibly not get their act together to MAKE a peanut butter sandwich. The fries were definitely not fresh. We were unhappily trapped tourists. Please don't make the same mistake.

  • Natalee B.

This is a nice place for a casual dinner and a good drink. The bloody Mary's are delicious! We had visited the other Cheeseburger in Paradise in Lahaina before we went to this one, so our expectations were high. The one in Lahaina is waaay better because of the awesome view. I would recommend going to that one instead. It's worth the drive.

Someone pinch me it feels as if I'm in the plane eating the lowest quality cr@p. I'm not going home yet am I? Whew, still here in Hawaii just made a regrettable stop at this restaurant and want to warn others not to get on this bird.

  • Ajay S.

I wrote this on TripAdvisor too -- If you're just looking for a great burger and you don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the place to go. Easy for the whole family. There's GREAT drinks for the adults too. I recommend the Pina Colada "trouble" which adds banana liqueur and a layer of dark rum. DELICIOUS! It's a fantastic alternative to the expensive resort restaurants.

This place deserves one word, disaster. I can't believe I have to star this place. The smell emanating inside was compared to a rotting corpse. The hostess was the only nice person in there and she wasn't even serving talk about about bad management. The waitress lipped off my father about ordering a drink while my brother had a hand full of plastic in his drink and almost choked. My dads burger looked like they picked it up off the ground after rodents were nibbling. My brothers chicken wings were an embarrassment to the animals race. I'm not going to complain about my chicken burger but the fries were soggy Sarah'd. My poor mother almost lost her sandal due to nasty floor, as we sat down the table had a wet paste texture to it. I won't even get started on the washroom, you need to be vaccinated to step foot in there. I honestly would stead clear of this place I'm highly recommending an episode of Bar Rescue should put this dive into overdrive. If you are reading this RUN!!!

Worst service ever! Left without even being waited on. Only 5 other people in restaurant. We were seated right away but then waited 20 minutes with no service. I would never recommend this place.

Decided to give this place a try for breakfast since we handed already tired out the Cheese burger in Paradise location in Lahaina. I had the scrambled cheeseburger plate which wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't great. Best part about it are the grilled Maui onions! You can definitely get better breakfasts on the island, but I'm not entirely sure this place is going for the best food on Maui award. Atmosphere is what I would recommended most. Outdoorsy feel and right in the middle of the shops at Wailea make this place convenient with the island feel.

Not the best meal I have had here is maui. The chips for the nachos were half fresh and half stale. The pot stickers on the other hand were incredibly tasty. I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos. Beware of the jalapeño mayo because it is very spicy. The mahi mahi tasted frozen and was extremely salty. I'd recommend something else on their menu and go to a seafood place for fresh fish entrees. Good family type atmosphere and the service was very good.

We really liked the food and the service is exceptional. We ate here twice during our Maui trip and bottomed the service was truly exceptional.

Mediocre food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. We went for the happy hour and the well drinks were five dollars as were the draft beers and house wines (and a few cocktails). They also have some food items for $ during happy hour (3-5pm).

Got here just in time for happy hour. 3-5 pm. Great burgers. Very messy but delish. Loved the sweet potato waffle fries.

Terrible!! Stay away! Food wasn't bad. Our server was nice. DO NOT order the Mojito. Not sure if they even know how to make it!! The worst one I've ever had. I was being nice on the review. Let's leave it at that. I could say all the horrible things that I experienced but don't want to burn you guys to bad. So I'll just leave it at the 1 star. You say you have thousands of fans but yet you have a 2.5 star rating. This location needs some major help!!!

I expected the same goodness that I had in oahu. Not the case. My burger was fused together by the cheese. It was in three pieces. Put together like a puzzle and served .. Can't always trust a chain. Oh and the fries. Let me post a pic of what you get when you ask for fries

Has gone downhill badly over the past few years. During most recent visit, they couldn't cook a burger beyond rare -- I sent it back three times, with the manager actually coming over to see the burger... he agreed it was way undercooked and even the one brought out after that was not cooked appropriately. While the prices are good, and their concept is great, I can't endorse this restaurant at all given the risk of food poisoning.

  • Alain T.

My wife and I had lunch there. I ordered the blta sandwich and the bun was stale and chewy. It was just completely poor quality overall. This place is a tourist trap.

So I went back to this bar and I definitely had the most opposite experience. In fact, it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a bar, and that's with food poisoning included. I'll get the food poisoning over with first. It was the first sandwich on the list, I'm forgetting the name. My mom and I split it and we both were sick within the same hour. When we first ordered it, we ordered it around the same time that the other people were ordering their food, in fact, we ordered ours first. The other items came out and we were still waiting. After watching everyone else eat their food we asked the waitress, who responded by saying it was backed up. I'm okay if it's backed up, but if thats the reason, why did everyone else get their things? So we asked again. Finally after at least 30 minutes she brought out our things and quietly mentioned that it was under the cooker...or something. I could barely understand what she was saying. Between this, the fact that she would randomly disappear for periods of time (longer periods than are required to grab food from any kitchen), the fact she made an excuse for virtually everything, and finally because she spend more time watching a football game and screaming at the TV than she did working with us, I lost all respect. In the end, I don't recommend this place. The only thing it seems worth is the pay per view sporting events - when, and only when, you can't find it anywhere else.

The sweet potato fries were cold (but they were happy to provide a fresh batch) and the well done burger was pink. We ate around the edges instead of asking for a fresh patty. We felt that our waiter was done with us before we even started so we didn't want to end up with spit in our drinks. What the heck happened to this place?

Every time I'm at shops of Wailea I get sucked into going here. I look at the other dining options and the prices are so excessively high that I end up at this place. Well, by now I should know better but I ended up there again tonight for the last time! You definitely get what you pay for. The tables were sticky and felt like they hadn't been cleaned in days. Even though it is open air dining it still feels and smells like a bar. The food is generally low quality. Burger tasted like a frozen one I could buy from Costco. Fruit is soggy and past its prime. The bowls they use to serve kids for are utterly disgusting in fact it wasn't until I saw them show up at the table until I remembered that my husband complained about them last time. Will I ever learn! Next time I'll buck up the extra $15 per person and try Longhis!

This is the worst dining experience I have ever had on Maui. I went here with my mom for lunch one day. The dining area was full so we went to sit at the bar. We couldn't get the bartender's attention to place an order and when we finally did, I had to repeat everything three times because there was no acknowledgment that she heard. After we placed the order for a simple burger and an order of ahi, we waited for an hour. We asked nicely if our order was coming up soon, and we got another server who basically yelled at us that they were slammed and it would be another 20 minutes. We politely mentioned that we had an appt to get to, so please try to rush it if possible. Our food didn't show up for another 30 minutes, and both of our orders were wrong and had to be sent back. The manager then came over and comped our meal, but also was very rude to us about the fact that they were so busy. My mom then left the bartender a nice tip anyways and said that she knew that what happened hadn't been her fault, and the woman actually had the nerve to refuse it. My mom, (always classy) left the tip anyways even though the bartender didn't deserve it whatsoever. The entire meal took over two hours and we both had a stomachache that afternoon. Note to restaurants: being nice goes a long way, especially in the hospitality industry. Never again...

Really the worst restaurant in the mall. It's as if they have just stopped trying. The service is less than average and the food may be even a little worse than that. They also tend to nickel and dime you on things like an extra side of ranch, subbing one cheese for another, adding lettuce to a kids burger. Your better off at Tommy Bahamas!

  • Brittany O.

The food was good but we had one really amazing server! Her name was Kellie, she wasn't even our waitress but she kept coming to the table to make sure we were doing alright and got us whatever we needed. She talked to us about the island and gave us tips on where to go! She was really great and made our experience excellent. Will definitely be returning!

The food was ok but one of my dining companions had a long hair in her sandwich and my flatware was dirty. The wait staff were very nice and replaced everything but you have to wonder what you are not finding.

If we could leave minus stars I would, we were a large party and had an unexplainable bad experience. The waitress was terrible, she was throwing the drink coasters across the table, she had very limited knowledge of her menu, and had a terrible personality. Not someone who should be dealing with customers. We had to ask for everything then when she would leave the table she rolled her eyes! Twice! She must of went in the back talking about our table because other servers were peeking around the corner. The manager Was Sent out and He proceeded To Just BLAB About nothing. Worthless! I do not reccomend eating here.

Can not recommend this place. Many better option nearby. Food is poor and service was disappointing. HOWEVER, after sending my seared ahi back and still being underwhelmed, the chef came out and comped my meal. A nice gesture for sure. I feel this place could be great, but needs some management leadership. Note to management: get involved and make this place great!

Family really enjoyed breakfast at Cheeseburger in Paradise. We almost didn't stop in because of the prior reviews. Our server Carolyn was awesome. She was very attentive and made great suggestions. Prices were very good and the food was tasteful. If you like places with a great atmosphere, attentive servers, and reasonable prices. Check this place out.

Wow! The Yelp reviews seem to be pretty brutal for this place and despite noticing this after sitting down for lunch we still decided to stay. With the reviews in mind I looked for something other than a burger and found the Maui B. L. T. A. sandwich. - "Just the way you like it. Five slices of Crispy Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Avocado with Mayo, on a Sesame Seed Bun." Besides me calling it a BLAT I would say they do a pretty good job with this one. I was happy with the meal. I do not think I would go here for dinner and based on the reviews of a lot of other things there seems to be reason to stay away from a few things. However, if you find yourself here by choice or by the will of your group then you should be able to find something on the menu that works and works well.

This place should be embarrassed. Wailea , high end. How the heck did this crappy place end up here food is bad, servers hate thier jobs so they don't care. The poor tourists don't know any better. I will never go back. I am a local and I will tell all my friends and family to keep walking past.

Food is decent and reasonable prices. I wasn't too fond of the service but then again it was a very busy night. We had to ask for the basics like napkins, ketchup, etc.

TOURIST TRAP! Hungry and didn't know where to turn we thought this looked like an ok choice. My mom and I shared a black bean burger and we each got a margarita. The service was very mediocre and the hostess tried to sit us down at a table that hadn't even been cleaned. The seats had crumbs all over them and the table looked sticky. We opted for a different table and it was cleaner but still a little sticky, so I tried to not think about it. It took the server about 10 minutes to actually come over to us and I just watched him hang around the bar doing absolutely nothing before even taking our drink orders. So we just ordered everything right then. I give this place 3 stars because the marg's we got were strong surprisingly. And I guess by that I mean you could taste the alcohol in them which usually you can't at a restaurant so that was a plus. The burger was edible, vegigies on it seemed good and fresh, and the fries were kind of luke warm and soggy like they were under a heat lamp for a while. Definitely would NOT come back here and I would have left after I checked in and saw the 2.5 star reviews. I should have looked on my phone ahead of time.

We were looking for a more casual place to eat. So we stopped in after shopping. Hostess seated us and gave us menus. One was the happy hour menu, so we decided on a couple items to start with. When we went to order them we were told that these items are not served outside the bar area... Not a good start. We ordered drinks and entrees. Drinks were good. When our meals arrived we all noticed that our food was cold, with the exception of my daughters (obviously Kraft box) Mac and cheese which was steaming hot. We explained that the fries were cold. After making an excuse they brought new ones. My burger was also cold, but I was hungry and didn't want to wait. Obviously our meals sat while they waited for the macaroni to boil. I would only recommend this place for happy hour drinks. Skip the burgers.

So when I saw this review initially I thought I was not going here. But after attending DEFINITELY worth it. Burgers are unique and delicious. My boyfriend had a spicy ciabatta one. It was good but he like mine better I had the "it's all good" burger. All I had to hear was bacon and guac mix. Very yummy. The service was AWESOME. We had a wonderful waitress.

Avoid. Head over to Tommy Bahamas and have a good meal. Cheeseburger was terrible and other dish which I can't even recall now was terrible. Left half of each meal and waitress didn't even ask if there was something wrong. Oh well. I guess they get away with it from being in a tourist area.

The service sucked a fat one. The bartender was a lady that refused us a drink and food because she was to busy douching herself. We just wanted food. Don't go there you might starve to death.

I read the reviews. I wanted to try for my self. The hostess was great. Our server was in a hurry "David g". Rushed us in ordering then we never saw him again. Our food was just ok. Except it all showed up on tiny appetizer plates. This is sad. I'm still waiting to see if the manager will show up.

Pretty dang good burgers. I got a kobe beef burger with bacon and a lot of other stuff. the bacon was piled on and it was a pretty darn good burger. not the best i have ever had but worth the price. there were birds all over the place but i didnt mind. it is hawaii after all so not a big surprise that birds were all over the outdoor sitting area. if you dont like birds, dont go here, but if you arent crazy, enjoy a nice burger.

Who goes to Maui and doesn't go here! I got the BBQ burger and posted pics. The BEST burger I had in Maui. Onion rings with ranch added just enough for me to leave happy. Finished with a tall Stella was perfect. The location is great and the staff did a good job too.

The place is very nice and the employees are friendly. I got the guacamole burger and it was very taste. My wife ordered the nachos and she loved them. I will definitely come back here before I left the island.

I've had the burgers in the past, and remember them to be pretty tasty. But in an effort not to gain 50 pounds on my Hawaiian vacation, I decided to have the spicy chicken sandwich without the bun. Because I ordered it "Gluten-Free" style, I got to pick two sides. I chose a side salad and fresh fruit. The chicken was actually quite good and very spicy. But it was lacking and no different than the chicken I would make at home. The salad lettuce was wilty and tasted old. The fruit, though, tasted pretty fresh. If you're going here, I think definitely go for a cheeseburger! Also, the local Blonde Ale was really tasty but surprisingly heavy for a blonde. Will return and order more appropriately!

We went back to this place for dinner and again had great service at the bar and the island style cheese burger was very juicy and moist. My only complaint would be the drinks are on the weak side.

  • Lauren L.

I really don't see what everyone is complaining about. Your walking into a red robin and expecting the service and food to be comparable to a Ruth Chris Steak House. The food is decently good, if your just looking for a reasonably priced burger it's the place to go. The food was good. Our server was good. And the hostess was good as well. Everything showed up in a timely manner and the service was enjoyable!

Had a banana strawberry smoothie, but it tasted more like a frozen icee. I ordered a Kobe beef burger with portabella mushroom and pineapple. The burger was big, juicy and topped with a portabella which covered the whole burger. I thought they would grill the pineapple, but they just put half a thin slice on the side. The burger was very good, cooked just like I ordered. Service was prompt and friendly, which bumped them up to four stars.

Horrible burger, especially for a place with "burger" in its name. In the menu it describes their cheese burger as the best in Hawaii. ITS NOT. Sad looking and tasting patty with ice burg lettuce. My girlfriend thought it tasted McDonalds. Not worth the hype AT ALL.

Who took my blue Hawaii? O, the waitress that would rather take my drink before it was finished than get a decent tip. You learn quick in Maui-you pay for quality! It's about 9 pm no hostess but a man sweeping with an ear piece. Are you open? He looks around, huffs and gets us menus and seats us without saying a word! That's when I jumped on yelp and realized it was too late! The waitress came by and we ordered our drinks in a decent time frame since there were only 3 tables occupied. When I ordered my burger and realized she didn't ask how I wanted it cooked-I knew it had to be a frozen patty I would be attempting to eat. All was good though, because I had my Blue Hawaiian to drown my hunger pain. My son took 3 bites from his kid burger and said it tasted gross. My fiancé and I got through half of our cheeseburgers with an attitude-frozen patty+ thousand island before we decided to stop as well. She came around picked up our dishes as we were talking. I went down to sip my drink and BAM my drink was gone!! Who, seriously who takes a $14 drink, somewhat full from an adult?? Worst food in Maui and bad service to say the least.

I guess I should have looked at the reviews before I sat down. I wanted to like it here. We had one in Reno that closed; it was about the same there too, and once was enough for me. I don't want to be brutal, I'm just going to make a list: 1) BF asked about the Mojito, bartender listed ingredients for a Mai Tai. He said, "I'll take a Mojito" - he got a Mai Tai. Drank it, didn't want her to feel bad. 2) One hamburger, one potsticker appetizer ordered. It took 45 minutes to get to us. 3) When food received the hamburger looked like it had been sitting. My potstickers looked dry, didn't have very much flavor and I think they were pre-made and warmed up. They all appear very nice & accommodating, but also that it's just a job. Yes, we could have said something, but it seemed there was no leadership there. Plus, we needed to get to the airport & needed something in our bellies. Then I found out that my family didn't visit often because of the same type of thing. They've been going to Maui for the last 20+ years. Whoops, guess we should have asked them too. Now YOU know.

RUN AWAY! Why didn't I listen to the other Yelpers when I was deciding on somewhere to eat in the Wailea shopping center. I thought 'it can't be that bad'... but I was WRONG! Problems: 1) We asked to be seated in full shade. This was at 4:30pm and the restaurant was basically empty. They sat us at a table where I got sun and told us it would be shaded in a few minutes. We never got shade and I felt like my left leg was sunburned at the end of the meal. 2) Our waiter seemed not interested at all in helping us. Once he realized we weren't going to be drinking alcohol, he took 10 full minutes to even take our drink order. 3) The fried shrimp were mushy. Shrimp should NEVER be mushy. I told the waiter when he asked me if I wanted them boxed up. He did say he'd let his manager know, but of course he didn't offer to get me something else or take it off our bill. 4) When the check was picked up with our credit card, the waiter got ketchup on the black pleather sleeve that the bill was in. He never wiped it off and dropped it back off smeared with ketchup. Disgusting. Just don't go here. There is nothing worthwhile here. Bad food. Bad service.

Two stars for a rather mundane cheeseburger, plus one extra for Carrie, the most friendly, helpful, and nice bartender on Maui. One would think that an establishment with "Cheeseburger" in the name might actually be able to produce a fantastic one. Not so at Cheeseburger Island Style. Its version features a rather small, thin burger cooked well-done, accompanied by a minuscule portion of French fries. The burger was nothing special: think McDonald's. The fries were fine, but with such a small serving it was hard to tell. A good selection of local beers on tap, good value happy hour specials, and a great bartender (Carrie, you rock!) are the saving grace of Cheeseburger Island Style.

Not impressed! This is a tourist trap plain and simple! I live on Maui and have higher expectations than the average tourist. We were greeted and seated by Dennis who was less than polite. Where we were seated smelled like a rubbish bin full of stale beer. Our server Michele helped make up for Dennis' shortcomings. Our food arrived quicker than expected; which was nice. The fries were cold and tasted as if they were made yesterday. Michele promptly brought us a fresh order when we requested it. The burgers were good, fresh and hot, didn't quite balance out the cold fries though! Not quite a destination restaurant. I say save your money and find a good local restaurant that serves fresh Maui beef with Aloha!

Funny...I get on here to do my two star review and am not surprised by the 2-1/2 star overall rating. I didn't check yelp before hitting up this place, and am sorry for it. My husband and I came here while in Hawaii for our honeymoon and he is burger crazy, so we couldn't help but stop here after our Frommer's Hawaii book gave it a good rating (ugh, don't even get me started on that book and it's lack of good/up-to-date suggestions). The burgers were nothing great, and to be honest, I feel like I've had better ones from fast food joints. I went with the fancy schmancy named one, aka their plain ol' cheeseburger. There's a special sauce and they use colby jack cheese, but it doesn't do much for the burger. I did not like the egg buns at all, I felt like it totally overwhelmed the burger and gave it a funky bread taste. He had the burger with pineapple and teriyaki sauce. I tried it...still meh. Onion rings and fries were meh too. Overall, not impressed with this place. To be fair, the prices are lower here than a lot of the actual restaurants on the island, so if you're looking for something cheap....

Ick. The burgers were a step above the stuff you could get at the airports. Too salty and no flavor. We only ate here because it was late, we were hungry after our flight and it was close to our hotel. Not impressed at all. The service was mediocre. I think they could have used another server or the host should have greeted us and taken our drink order.

  • Matt R.

This place was very underwhelming and very overpriced. We went here the night we arrived in Maui just because it was close. I got the island cheeseburger which was not so good. It was bland no flavor at all I would be better off with a Big Mac. Best part of the meal was my wife's onion rings from her meal. Her burger was also not so good and was missing flavor. I would not go back and I would not recommend.

We visited Cheese Burger yesterday for happy hour. We ordered the chips and chili. The chips were stale. When we informed the server, he had to speak to the manager. The manager came over and said they make the chips fresh daily. We said they were stale. I thought she would have removed the charge (only $5) from our bill but she did not. Rather she left us and did not even tell our server her decision. As a hospitality professional, I am shocked the owners do not allow the servers make decisions when a guest complains. It is not the money. They just did not want to take care of us.

  • Sandy G.

I guess the owner doesn't care about his/her restaurant. The staff should all be fired. The manager? What manager! We paid $100 for terrible food and horrible service. We asked our waitress 3 times within 30 min to put the football game on although she was nice but it was even worse when we asked the bartender as soon as we sat down if he can please put the game on and replied "your server can help you with that." 30 min later our server asks him to change the tv and does so right in front of us! Wth really? I'm surprise this place is still open. We will never step foot again!

  • Jennifer K.

Meh is right. Even my kids don't want to go back after two meals here! Very mediocre food, and one of our waitresses was pretty snarky. I ordered the turkey burger, but could only eat a few bites. It was not freshly made with ground turkey, but a very processed patty that you might find in the freezer at a grocery store. Blech. The loaded potato skins were OK. Everything was just OK. The mud pie is very good, but it is the only dessert choice. What's up with that?! Avoiding for the rest of our trip.

Service is key and this place was excellent. The hostess and our server were very friendly and welcoming. When I had to send my burger back to be well done, it was no problem. She completely understood. The food was great, greasy but tasty!

I've eaten here seven or right times over 3 trips to Maui and it has always been good. I usually have the coconut shrimp or the island burger. It is one of the few restaurants in the area that won't cost you $30+ for dinner without driving into Kehei..

OK. Always hate to give a local place a bad review but OMG, what a terrible experience we had here. We brought our Hanai son who is 12 as we were babysitting. We were told there would be a short wait so my husband and the boy went walking around. I was exhausted and decided to sit at the bar and treat myself to a blended drink! Something I never do. The bar wasn't busy so I ordered a Pina Colada. My drink came in like 1 minute! Wow! How can you make a blended drink that fast? Cool! It tasted like it had zero alcohol in it, so I politely asked the bartended for a small floater of dark rum on top. He obliged and also told me he did me a favor and gave me some Meyers but only charged me well. Nice. So our table is ready and I get the bill and my drink is $15. I got charged double for the little floater of rum on top. OK. That's fine. I ordered more, I pay for it. Mind you, this is not one of those big tall glasses that come with umbrellas and fruit. It was a very small glass with one slice of pineapple on top. So we go to the table and husband orders a Mojito. I'm going to make a long story short here. Mojito was full of black slimy mint. It was DISGUSTING!!!!! How ever could you in all good conscious serve a drink with wrotted mint in it? My coconut shrimp and onion rings (again a big splurge) were nearly burnt. They hurt the roof of my mouth when I ate them like the Captain Crunch cereal did when you were a kid, remember? Our waitress basically hid from us. My husband had to go to the bar to get his own drink, and our waters. He also had to go to the bar himself to complain about his drink. Finally a manager came around and said she would take the drink off. We showed her the shrimp and she said "It looks OK to me!" Really? That was it. It looks OK to me. So you eat it then honey! Bottom line is they took off the Mohito and gave us a $6 credit. My hubby's got a double burger and he enjoyed it very much. The little one got chicken fingers and a virgin Pina Coloda and he was happy. I have to say the one saving grace of this experience was the hostess. Her name is Caroline. She came to our table and was a breath of fresh air. She is the kind of employee a business wants and needs and should hold on to and promote! Her customer service was excellent and we ended up leaving smiling, all because of Caroline.

I thought for sure a place with "burger" in the name would know how to cook them, but no such luck. It actually tasted as if the old McDonald's cook just transferred over to this establishment. The burgers were thin and it actually tasted as if they were dipped in au juice since it was dry but dripping. That's just plain cheating. Even the the fish was dry, but evidently were sauced well since those in our party who had them liked them. The wait staff was friendly, though. Oh well.

First night here and were looking for a quick bite. Not to be rude, but nothing they served me was working for me. Maui mai tai, and planters punch. I just kept passing my drinks to Otis sitting next to me. Then I ordered a soda and he looked at me funny? Maybe I needed food? Yes, but not from here. The guacamole cheeseburger was o.k. When I saw that green turd on the top of my burger it kind of turned me off. I was expecting slices. Now the meat was good and it was a large portion. So I will give them that. I must have ordered the wrong thing. Three times.

Good for drinks at sunset. Food is standard burgers,...nothing special.

When trying to put our name in the hostess and manger never acknowledged us. They conversed between the two of them, After a few minutes of standing and feeling invisible they finally took our name. After being sat we were then ignored by our server. She helped other patrons and kept saying she'd be right back to us. Finally once our food arrived it was dry, tasteless and seemed stale. We could not get out of there faster! Unfortunately the staff holds you captive with their slow service.

This reminds me of an Applebee's/TGIF-type place; not normally somewhere I would go when I'm on vacation, but we stopped in here because we were hungry after shopping. The food was nothing special, and the menu was not vegetarian friendly at all. You'd think that in Hawaii with all the fresh food items available year 'round, they'd make some sort of effort to include some healthier items, but nope. The service wasn't horrible, but it also wasn't anything special. Basically a tourist-trap place that probably survives because of its location in the shopping area.

I came here for breakfast, and I thought the food was pretty good. I got the breakfast burrito, and it was definitely enough for two. The pancakes were also delicious. Our sever was friendly, but service was a little slow. They also offer a lighter fit breakfast for those wanting a healthier option. I would probably come again for breakfast.

This place was the biggest mistake I made on my Hawaii trip. Terrible service mediocre food and watered down drinks. Save yourself the money and time and dont go anywhere near this place

Awful! Waited an hour & still no food & no check in by waiter or manager ever to apologize or say sorry for the delay! Lots of other people were returning their meals for whatever reason- sketchy! Overall we left due to waiting for over an hour for a small order & no customer service! Avoid!!!

Slow service! Tried it for lunch one day got the excuse something was wrong with the printer so our order took longer. Decided to try again for breakfast. Same excuse! Waited 5 minutes just to order our drinks then 25 minutes before the drinks showed up. 40 minutes waiting for pancakes. Food is not worth the wait.

Your typical chain joint that reminds you of Mel's Drive in, Chevy's, Olive Garden etc. You get my drift. Hawaiian food that serves a nachos, taco salads, mai tai's with little umbrellas in them. I had the taco salad and I liked it. My aunt and uncle got hot dogs and cheeseburgers. I didn't try any and I didn't want to. Next time I'm back in Maui this definitely won't be on my list of places to eat.

Someone suggested we go to the Shops to grab a bite to eat. After we got there realized most of the spots weren't really our style. We wanted basic food, casual atmosphere so we headed over to Cheeseburger in Paradise/Island Style and bellied up to the bar for dinner and drinks. This was later in the night and after the dinner rush. Devin, our bartender was fantastic-- super friendly and attentive. I noticed they had a few items listed under a Gluten Free section, but it was all basic fare. I asked him if there was someone I could check ingredients with and he sent over the manager, Jackie. Again so friendly and accommodating. Her friend has Celiac so she totally understood. For people who really NEED GF food, this was a huge stress reliever for me. We figured out I could have the Kalua Pork Nachos. hooray! It was super yummy and I was excited to be able to eat something more Maui-ish without getting sick. Great experience for us.

Location Location Location. It can't be beat. It was amazing to sit on the 2nd floor overlooking the harbor and ocean and feel the island breeze. We had the California Cheeseburger and the Kobe Burger (it was huge). We also ordered the Oreo Cookie Smoothie which was really small for $6.95. I ordered a side salad with my burger and it was very small. We had planned on sharing it but it was too small. The location is the reason I gave it 4 stars.

Tolerable, but disappointing. My fish tacos were loaded with piles of dry, un-dressed cabbage (and I love cabbage). The fries arrived tepid (but were cheerfully replaced with hot). Pleasant service, and a lively, noisy environment.

First off, the staff is great, the location is great, the atmosphere is like a island Chili's....nothing about the experience was necessarily bad except for the food. It wasn't rotten or putrid, just really bland and bad. There really isn't a reason I can think of to go here. It's cheaper than most of the places around by a few dollars, but spend the money and go elsewhere. This is the place that you go to when you 'settle'. Like i said, everyone was really nice, but my table tried the burger, cobb salad, and nachos and we were all disappointed.

Cheeseburger Island Style aka Cheeseburger with NO style. It was my second time there - burgers are mediocre at best. I ordered the fish tacos that were supposed to come with battered and fried fish - but instead came with battered and fried nothing. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating, but there had to be about 1 ounce of fish total in 3 tacos. We also ordered the kid's chicken tenders - looking about as fried and brown as some of those Jersey Shore reality stars. Additionally, here is one of the conversation's with the waitress: Us: How's the mahi in the mahi sandwich? Waitress: It's delicious and fresh. Us: Great, Can I get it with a wheat bun? Waitress: Sure! Us: Awesome. Waitress: Mahi sandwich with a WHEAT bun? Us: That is correct. .....Alas, Mahi sandwich came out. Not fresh or delicious. And NO wheat bun. This place is pricey for fast-food quality food. :/ 2 stars because it's edible if you have hunger pains and no other options.

The Kobe burger was really good. Not salty, with fresh vegetables. Service was OK for us, 7 minutes before waiter came, then it was fast. At 14:30. Happy Hours from 15:00 to 17:00. Good place for fast food.

A great family restaurant in Wailea. Food was typical of a burger chain but did have a little island flair to it. A great place for kids since they have a decent menu and I believe the kids meals included drinks. We had both breakfast and dinners here and felt for the money, it was a good option. The breakfast is a great deal when you consider what the hotels in the area charge for their buffets.

Not impressed with food or drinks at this place. My wife had fish tacos and they were overlooked. I had a hamburger and it was average at best. Mojitos were not good. Try to avoid if possible.

I give this one star. Place was crowded and I don't know why, maybe most people don't know the difference between good food and sh*t. The service was slow, burgers were tasteless and way too greasy.Lettuce on the salads wilted and on and on. Warning food and service is terrible! I will never come here again. Need I say more.

For a burger joint, this place is very good! All our beef patties are cooked perfectly and delicious. The burgers were original and the Mai-Tai excellent ( We went during their happy hour, and they were only $3 ---as I could remember after a couple...) Our waitress was friendly and bubbly!...Come hungry and thirsty!

This was by far one of the worst meals I've eaten in my 50 years on earth. It took our waiter forever to acknowledge us. When he finally showed up with no apology about the wait, he took our drink and food orders. My husband and son ordered hamburgers, my daughter a Caesar salad and I ordered a chili dog. We added on guacamole and chips. Where shall I start? The tea was instant, the hamburgers were a weird gray color, the croutons were stale, and the chili dog tasted like nothing. It actually had no flavor except a coffee-ish aftertaste. The chips and guacamole never showed up. Also, my food showed up about 10 minutes after everyone else's. We never saw our waiter again until we flagged him down for the check. He did not seem to notice or comment on the fact that 3/4s of the meal went uneaten. For this, we had the pleasure of paying $65 before tip and without any alcohol. The story on the menu told a tale of a successful cheeseburger chain with locations in 7 different places. Not for long if they continue to serve food like this.

Breakfast was awful, service disinterred, prices are outrageous even for Wailea. You get a slice of partially toasted bread, extra 2.25$, coffee 3.25$. Better choice is longhi's.

The wait was way too long for the service provided. The service was terrible. The fries came out cold and when asked the waiter walking by about the cold fries he said "it's not my job you will have to ask YOUR waiter". When asked to get more water the waiter seemed annoyed. The waiter didn't think to ask if we wanted separate checks prior and brought us one single check. When we divided the money out on the single check he was very annoyed and said he didn't know how to do it. It took another 10-15 minutes for him to bring separate checks very unhappily. Not going there again

What can I say... 2 stars is all I can do and I am being generous. We landed in Maui starving, this restaurant was right by the hotel. Burgers were huge but lacked flavor. Not my favorite at all! Onion rings were tasty... But nothing to write home about.

We tried both this Cheeseburger Island Style and the one in Laihaina (it is called Cheeseburger in Paradise, which I thought was going to be the like the Jimmy Buffet one I tried in Oahu.) In both places the service was good. As for the food, the burgers are so so. They are very big but need more seasoning in the burger. Fairly bland for the price. Also, their cheesy fries were a disappointment. The cheese was barely melted and was filled with grease which made the fries soggy. We did have breakfast here which was pretty good. Both eggs Benedict and macadamia pancakes were good. Breakfast burrito was pretty greasy. The drinks are really good. I had the piña colada and it was nice, creamy and smooth. Conclusion: good drinks and okay bar type food.

I read the reviews and thought "can it really be that bad?" The service is awful, we were a party of 11 and had just sat down, needed to order drinks right away, then asked if we were ready to order food. We weren't, we were socializing and looking at the menu. When we did order, food was prompt. We ordered onion rings and sweet potato fries for appetizers, which were room temperature. Fried food should be hot! I ordered the taco salad with chicken. Horrible, bland and rubbery chicken, brown guacamole, and a few shreds of lettuce. This place has the potential but until they improve on many levels, I won't be going back.

I'm still in shock at how bad this place was. We visited Cheeseburger earlier today for lunch. After being seated promptly, our server took our drink order, filled it quickly, and proceeded to take our food order. So far, so good! My wife's eight-dollar Mai Tai tasted like watery orange juice but things were looking okay. Food came out. I ordered a guacamole cheeseburger; my wife ordered a bacon cheeseburger -- a big move, since she usually isn't a burger person but decided to branch out for the occasion. First off, my sweet potato fries were lukewarm, bordering on downright cold. They were cold enough to be inedible and kind of gross. Eventually a manager came along while making the rounds of the tables and I asked her to replace the fries because of their super-coldness -- she said she'd do so promptly. Then, I started in on the burger. The patty was really weird. Perfectly disc-shaped, grey, rubbery and solid, like a large rubber drink coaster. Biting into it made it give way with a texture that broke off cleanly and evenly around the bite, like when one bites into thick bread. It was largely flavorless. It somehow reminded me of really bad meatloaf. I knew I had tasted something like it before, but where? Hours later, the answer now comes to me -- on an airplane, I once had an in-flight-meal-burger that matched the flavor. The bun was cold. The cheese, being hard to screw up too badly, was average. The guacamole on my burger was pretty decent, in the way that prepackaged guacamole is. My wife got a couple of bites in (at least her fries were good) and gave up. I, hungry, soldiered through mine and may pay the digestive price later today -- the jury's still out on that part but I don't feel very good as I write this. Also, my sweet potato fries never came out. No big loss. The server brought the check with no comment. I asked if the sweet potato fries had been removed; she confirmed that yes, they had been. I then asked if the burger patties had changed, and, not to put you on the spot, but are they made with any kind of soy, TVP or other non-meat protein additives? She responded, with a bit of surprise, that no, the burgers are one hundred percent black angus beef. Okay, great? The server left to "talk to the manager about the bill." After a few minutes, the manager came around, and explained that she'd be removing my wife's mostly-uneaten burger from the bill. Thanks! I asked about the weird alien-meat patties. She reconfirmed adamantly that they were one hundered percent blank angus beef, but informed me that they don't have their "usual patties" right now, which is why the shape was a bit odd, and yes, some customers have complained, but we only have a few more cases to go through so if you show up tonight or tomorrow you'll probably get a regular burger. I was also told that the sweet potato fries had been requested at the kitchen but since "he's pretty busy back there I guess he didn't get to them." I was kind of speechless at this point so we just paid the bill and left. To the fine folks here: Nice to know that even though you've gotten a few complaints (which are indicative of a larger problem, since most customers won't complain), you're still going to push through the "few more cases" of alien crap meat before resuming with the regular stuff. If you're going to charge someone eleven bucks and up for a burger, resorting to the crap meat discs should never be an option. I know it's an island and beef is pricey, but how hard would it be to make the burgers from fresh (or at least fresh-frozen) ground beef like every other non-fast-food restaurant out there? In closing, I have to give the staff a little bit of credit for trying, because they did at least remove my wife's burger from the check without requiring an outright request. That softened the blow a bit, but the one-star rating is still set in stone here.

Review is only for breakfast. We went here for breakfast twice. The price was much better then hotel buffet breakfast. I ordered the breakfast with eggs, portuguese sausage, hash brown and hawaiian toast. The mac nut pancakes was also delicious. The service was good and they offered to take our refills to go.

Worse excuse for a cheeseburger. Touted as " juicy and needing napkins to eat" in reality was " dry and need barf bag to eat" $8 pina colada was weak and tasteless. I should of read the reviews before we ate here. Avoid this place.

Husband and I decided to stop in for nachos and a beer on a nice day - after reading the reviews we were really hoping we would get some nice nachos- how can you mess those up? Well I guess you can! The plate had chips with a small amount of cheese and a huge heaping pile of sour cream a bit of salsa and guac topped with 7-8 pieces of chicken (cut super small) I guess sour cream makes good nachos? Yuck totally plain no flavor at all - beer is cold so that was ok- nice server - dang really wanted to like it! I suggest fairmont pool bar for superb nachos btw!

I stopped here for lunch while I was at the Wailea Beach Shops. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp and Sweet Potato fries. Meal wise, was pretty good for lunch. However, service was so-so. My waitress didn't come by table too often to check on things and I had to wait awhile to get a refill. I feel this is an average place and a good spot if you wanted a quick bite / break from shopping.

Went in yesterday afternoon about 330 p. Was seated immediately and waited on immediately. Made order and was served correctly and quickly. Waitress was very polite, personal, and helpful. I have eaten here several times before and this was a great experience. When busy , it can be a little slow, but not today! I had guacamole cheeseburger, regular one, and it was very good!!

Wow! I am never going back again! I wish I didn't have to give it any stars. My wife ordered the calamari app. it was 6 way over battered strips of calamari for 13$. I don't think anybody told them calamari is bait. My wife's burger was supposed to have four slices of bacon on it, and it didn't. How does a burger joint mess up a burger? When we asked for the bacon the server brought out 3, not four slices of cold bacon. We then asked for hot bacon and they just threw the bacon in the deep fryer, I know because I am a chef and can tell.

Our first night in Maui, we decided to come here for dinner since we were already shopping in the mall. We were seated immediately and the menu was rather vast and so much to choose from. Hawaiian's version of food is sweet and has pineapples and exotic fruits, so it's expected to have a little sweet in your dinner. we started with mai tais, which were really good! Then I had fish and chips, which were delicious. The fish was moist and soft and perfectly cooked. The fries were sweet potato fries with a side of macadamia pineapple cole slaw. Hubby ordered the island burger, which he stated was one of the best burgers he's ever had. I had a bite and I have to agree, it was perfectly cooked and very delicious. I loved that both of our dishes had a pineapple garnish that was refreshing to clean our palates with. I had a good experience here and I don't care if this place got bad reviews from others, this place was good and that's that.

Actually thought this was cheeseburgers in paradise until I couldn't find it in the search option. But it's the exact same thing. Ate here because we were tired and didn't want to drive anywhere. Seated by an over ambitious waiter who moved here after vacationing. A for effort on his part. Got a guacamole burger. Pretty good. Not as good as the Cool Cat Cafe but good. Didn't order any alcohol to drink so our food bill was the cheapest we'd eaten in two weeks. Under $35! Wa-hoo. That was the best part :) Husband got the blue cheese burger and was like, "Where's the blue cheese?" He liked the burger non the less. Good place to eat if you are hungry and don't want to make the effort to go find a cool place to eat.

If you want something quick, American, and lack luster, this is it. The Mojito mint leaves in my drink were dead. $50 for two burgers and 2 alcoholic drinks (1 was a beer). Have to pay extra for fries to come with the sandwich, but the fries and onion rings were delicious! Burgers had no flavor but if you order the fancy ones, it's less noticeable. Mine had avocado and grilled pineapple and my husbands had bacon, mushroom, and avocado. Veggies on burgers were fresh. Bread was really bland. Service and hostess were both very friendly.

Burgers are pretty good. Waitress not attentive and tried over charge for soft drinks. We ordered Dr.prepper and she brought us the $6.75 cup. After telling her I did not want a $6.75 drink, she switched the cup when I asked for a refill. She also did that to two other tables trying to rip everyone off. Burgers are around $12 without fries. Only eat there for convenience. It's located in the Shops at Wailea.
