Four stars because I love local foods and this is one of the best places to get some. Food 4/5 Portions sizes are good and the food taste great too. I bring my two year daughter here to have lunch or a late breakfast and it usually gets packed but not so much on weekdays seeing how everyone's working lol. I enjoy being able to order from the breakfast/lunch/dinner menu at anytime because sometimes I want spam eggs and rice for dinner lol. Overall the food satisfies for the price. Service 4/5 the waitress that served us was awesome, nice, friendly and prompt as workers should be but there was an employee behind the counter who looked distant and sort of "meh". You know, those kind that don't pay attention to you on purpose and go on doing whatever they are doing, so you're kind of waiting at the counter uncomfortably to pay the bill, not sure if you should say something or wait for them to notice you (even though you're sure they have). That aura. Yeah awkward-- work on that. Setting 3/5 Everything needs to be updated and thoroughly cleaned. Only reason it's a 3/5 is because of the nostalgia factor. I came here a lot when I was little, and it's basically exactly the same yearrrrrs later. But oh well. Notes: go ahead and seat yourselves. Sometimes people walk in and stand around waiting to be seated by a waitress, without noticing the seat yourself sign off to the side. Wait can be long depending how busy the place is, heck sometimes the wait it long even if the place isn't busy but it's too inconsistent to tell.

This place was Ono! Great selection and kind service. We ordered a bunch of different things. From the chicken katsu, burgers and the yummy coconut pancakes with Portuguese sausage. Everything was fast, fresh and hot! You can tell this is a local spot and has been around a while. Will definitely be back

BEST PANCAKES ANYWHERE. Whenever we go to a restaurant, we always compare the pancakes to Hannaras because it just doesn't get any better. Always soft & moist. They don't get 5 stars because we don't always get the best service. They are always crowded, but I guess because people love it there!

SO yummy I'm glad I came here. It's my first time in Oahu and I'm checking out all the local dives. This one's clean and everyone's super-friendly. Coconut pancakes were out of this world!!

Hawaiian? Korean? American? Yep, this place has them all! Holy menu choices! Located across of the Waianae mall, Hannara's is a staple in the westside community. Hungry but unsure of what you're hungry for or craving everything...this is where your stomach will lead you. Walking into the restaurant, you notice the diner set up and feel. They have diner seating and as well as tables. Seat yourself where ever you see a clean table. The menu consists of Hawaiian, Korean, American and breakfast foods. I have yet to try the Hawaiian food as I don't prefer that type of cuisine. I know, what kind of kanaka am I?! The food flavor here is okay, not bad but nothing that truly stands out either. The service here is pretty bad. The waitress brings the menu, takes your order, delivers your food and good luck getting her back to your table or getting water refill, napkins or condiments. Need help, wave down any waitress or you will be left waiting.....awhile. During my last visit I had the Denver omelette and my company had the roast pork. They brought the roast pork out well ahead of my omelette. My date did not like that, his thing was that our food is brought together. It didn't really bother me. What did bother me was that his roast pork looked dry even with all that gravy. My omelette came about 7 minutes later. The omelette was meh. As I had thought the roast pork was very dry. When we were done, my date asked when the waitress was going to bring the bill. I had totally forgot about the process of paying. I had informed him that we had to go to the cashier and tell them what we ate, they would find our ticket from there. Old school diner style to say the least. I must admit the Korean food is good. I also enjoyed the hamburger steak. Breakfast hasn't been what I had expected. I'd still come back, at least I'd know what to expect. Goal is to try out the whole menu, I'm hopeful I'd find something to rave about.

It's our first time here. We ordered the Hannara fried rice omelette, seaweed soup, fried noodles, and Hawaiian plate. The good was pretty good, and we were impressed. Good portion for the Hawaiian paste for its price. I really enjoyed the seaweed soup, and I didn't expect it to be that tasty. Our waitress was friendly and funny. We definitely will be eating her again when we're down the leeward side.

One of the best places to eat on the leeward coast, everything is good here , the fried rice omelette and the hamburger steak to name a few. Bring your out of town friends and family here to grind and they'll be driving to the west side more often specifically to eat here, no joke!

My husband and I wisheeeed we knew about this place in the beginning of our honeymoon. We would have literally ate breakfast here everyday. Waitresses... so nice and welcoming. Well, as a CAli girl EVERYONE in Hawaii is nice :) This hole in the wall joint is the place to be. Big selection of food to choose from! The prices were amazing too! I had french toast and my husband had a denver omelet with spam fried rice. OMG! Party in our tummies. Sooooo delicious! Will bw definitely returning here the next time we go to Hawaii!

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder" Because I no longer work in Kapolei, getting to Waianae is a lot tougher because I live in east Honolulu. Opportunities to go to favorite west Oahu eateries become a rarity. And the one place I miss above all others in Waianae is Hannara restaurant. Hannara restaurant has been a fixture in Waianae for many decades. They started as a very small, mostly take out place on the makai side of Farrington Hwy. An opportunity arose and Sam, the owner, moved the mostly drive in style grinds to a larger space on the mauka side of Farrington- offering a more dining-in option for the community. A few years later, Sam relocated the restaurant to it's present location close to Waianae Mall offering even more dining space for hungry patrons. Ok, enough with the history lesson, so how's da grub? Having had their grinds at all three locations I can say the food is still great. They are noted for their Hamburger Steak, pancakes, Hawaiian and beef stew plates. I have seen patrons order Hawaiian plates with pancakes on da side- now what does that tell you? Mmmm.... I am especially fond of their beef stew plate- the beef chunks are soft, tender and very flavorful. The beef stew gravy has just the right consistency, not too watery. You know the kind of sauce that really goes well with rice- mmmm. They are sometimes on the fatty side but it's easy to separate the fat from the ono beef. Their portions are fairly generous and you can get Korean veggies on the side for a nominal fee. Their eclectic offerings of Local , Hawaiian and Korean favorites belay the fact that the original owner was Korean. The Korean side veggies are a perfect compliment to any of the offerings, except maybe for breakfast. The Hawaiian plate competes well with offerings at restaurants around Oahu but in Waianae they offer one of the best in the neighborhood. Whenever I am in striking distance of Hannara I always go for their beef stew. Whenever I had appointments in Waianae I would make sure to schedule so that I could make a run to Hannara for lunch. I love their beef stew so much that I have on occasion in the past brought a pot for them to fill up several servings so my family can enjoy this west Oahu treat. Their Hawaiian plate with kalua pig, Lau Lau, beef stew and poi with a side of Korean veggies really hits the spot. If you are down West Oahu way, give Hannara a try- no regrets, guarans you'll find something you'll like, maybe da beef stew :)

Good local food. They give lots in the take out order. Place as busy but the take out was even busier. The place had the old school restaurant feel. We ordered different kinds of bento box. And those bestest hamburger steak with gravy. I don't think they do but its good. It tasted like meat loaf in a hamburger shape. The meat jun was pretty good soft and tastes. The Kimchi was eeeh I so had better. The chicken Teri was good, soft and moist. The breaded shrimp... Yuck not good. So had better. The tarter sauce didn't help it. Pipikaula was a little on the tuff side. Lau Lau was already had better. Parking is shared by other stores in a plaza corner bottom floor.

Love love love their hamburger steak with grilled onions and gravy all over. I usually order mines with mashed potatoes. My other favorites are their bakery style pancakes, hanara fried rice omelet and fried noodles. All I can say is yum!!

The reason why Hannara's earns a two star review from me is because of the state of the restaurant, everything is dirty from the floors to the ceiling and the booths and the tables, it looks like no real cleaning is ever done here, this is especially apparent if you look at the pipes leading into the air conditioning units. . .even the store front windows are gross. I went to the bathroom and I guess this is a place where people discover that wet toilet paper can stick to objects because there are no less than 30 balls of mushed up toilet paper on the ceiling, and that wasn't just one day with a few kids messing with them, some of those layers looked old. The bathroom in and of itself is disgusting and to top it all off while I was in there the wait staff left a rolling dish cart in front of the saloon style doors that let you out and I couldn't open them to leave the hallway! I had to force the door open and shove the cart out of the way. The ONLY reason why I didn't one star Hannara Restaurant is because their food is actually pretty good, not the best but I've had worse, and their pancakes are amazing. The prices are good for what you get too. To sum it up. . .the employees here need to show some initiative to step up and deep clean the space or the owners need to put their foot down and say "HEY! You guys need to CLEAN!" Due to the cleanliness of the dining space and the bathroom I have no idea how Hannara Restaurant is flying a green health inspection "Pass" card, hopefully that means that the back of the house is much cleaner than the front of the house. As it stands right now I would not return to this business.

Simple, traditional and nothing fancy. Great breakfast spot!

This is my family's breakfast/brunch spot and has been for years. They're always busy even during the week. The servers and cooks work hard plus their service is friendly and quick. And of course - the food. I love their loco moco and the fried rice omelette. Their French toast and pancakes are pretty good too. Look, if you want amazing, authentic local Hawaii food, you have to come here. Yeah, it doesn't really look that special nor is it necessarily the cleanest place, but the food is bomb. It's the real deal. And awesome prices for the portions you get too. This is the type of place where local people go with their families to grind. You hardly see tourists over here. But no be scared, go try em. You won't regret it.

Hannara's Restaurant serves American, Korean, and Hawaiian dishes as well as saimin and won ton mein. Who knows this restaurant may even settle your food cravings. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This location is within walking distance to my personal banks ATM. Couple years ago after I get off of working the graveyard shift at a 24 hour convenience store and gas station I would walk over to this restaurant for early morning breakfast. Sometimes I visit the restaurant up to three times per week. My taste buds vary from having blueberry pancakes about the size of the plate, to french toast with sides of bacon or pork link sausages, or to Hannara's omelette (eggs, mushroom, tomatoes, green onions, and Portuguese sausage) with fried rice and a side of toast. December 18, 2014 was my most recent visit to the restaurant. I walked into the restaurant and sat down at the counter. The kitchen employees seen me as well as some of the waitresses. The restaurant was so busy on this day that it took about 5 - 10 minutes before a waitress hands me a menu. I looked at the items on the menu and put in my order. This time around I ordered a club sandwich to go. The waitress who took my order was very friendly. The male owner of the restaurant was friendly as well. He normally handles the register during the day. Once the afternoon comes around then one of the long time waitresses handles the register. This employee needs to improve her communication skills when talking to her coworkers.

This place has been here FOREVER. I even had the conversation of when I was first here. I was in the 6th grade and my basketball coach, who was my friend (also played on the team), took us out to breakfast because no one could pick me up/drop me off (one or the other, I forgot) before/after the game to Hannaras. Pretty much the more diverse version of Zippys in Waianae. Btw there is NO Zippys in Waianae. This needs to change! They have a very well diverse menu. They have American food, Korean and Hawaiian. I'm surprised they don't serve sushi! When you get there you seat yourself. A waitress, I've only noticed women were the waitresses will you give your menu, take your drink order then will come back in a few to take your order. I finally came here knowing what I wanted it was Hawaiian food. Kalua pork #win my friend got the laulau plate, also another #win. The food came out pretty quick. Now I didn't taste the laulau but my kalua pork was alright. It wasn't one of the better ones I've had and one of the better ones were made at a friend's family party with homemade laulau and squid luau. omg. mouthwater* My friend and I were having such great conversation that the whole time the waiter didn't check on us at all. But the thing about this place is, don't wait for the waiter to give you your check either. I've been here a few times before with friends who've come here often and I've learned that you just go up to the cashier and tell them the number of your table which can be found on the side of the table. I think it's time for Hannaras to make some improvements because I know this place has been in Waianae for a very long time and it is a classic to this town.

The food was good. I didn't know what to expect from this place but it keeps up with my theory that small Lil mom and pop restaurants have the best food.

We ate here at around noon on a Tuesday. The place was packed and we got the last open table. It took around 8 minutes to get a menu, then around 15 minutes after that to place our order. It took around 20 minutes after that to get our food. I noticed that the locals who came in after us got their order taken sooner and were served their food sooner (we could see that people knew each other and they may have been regulars) -- maybe it's my imagination, but we were very obviously the only tourists in the place (sunglasses, floppy hats, no tan). I didn't mind waiting -- I think it's awesome that they take care of their regulars! Mari, our server, was awesome (she was just super busy) -- she took the time to explain how to eat one of the dishes and that some people like to put sugar in the poi and others like a spicy or savory flavor with it, so it's served with a side of chopped onion, tomato, peppers and other spices. They have a breakfast menu, a page of American food options, a page of Hawaiian options and a page of Korean options. My husband ordered the Hawaiian platter -- I can't remember the names of the dishes, but it included a shredded pork cooked with taro leaves which was wrapped in other larger leaves (which you remove before eating what's inside). There was also a beef stew -- it was one of the best tasting foods I've ever had -- the stew was lighter in color than I've seen served in mainland American diners, but the flavor was amazing. There was another shredded pork dish, a poi dish (served with a side of onion & other peppers). We could only finish about 1/3 of the plate -- the serving sizes were enormous! I had the Korean BBQ chicken plate -- and I want to say that that the chicken was one of the best foods I've ever eaten -- very flavorful, slightly sweet, not spicy and very tender. Again, the serving could have fed 3 people. It came with rice, mac salad, cabbage salad, soup (a clear beef broth that tasted home made, not canned), kim chi, a seaweed salad, a potato/sesame salad. The restaurant is not fancy, but there are a lot of tables. I could see people being served dishes that I would like to try, but did not recognize (I am not familiar with Hawaiian or Korean cuisine, so I don't know the names of the dishes). I saw some plates served with a half papaya and some other fruit that looked amazing. I think it is well worth the drive to come out to eat at this restaurant, even if you are visiting the island and staying in Honolulu. Our check came to under $30 including the tip -- and we had enough leftovers for lunches for a couple days!

Hannara means one nation, according to our server. We got the Hannara special, and we were very satisfied. It was enough food for both of us, and included m fish, meat, and chicken, and a couple salad sides. We were so happy we chose to eat here. Very good friendly service as well. We would definitely come again.

Unfortunately, this is the only restaurant we have in Waianae. It needs to be cleaned and upgraded inside. The service is SLOW. We have to get our own menus almost every time we go there. Some of the waitresses are nice, and the others could use a painted smile on their faces. Customer service...does anyone know what that is anymore? As for the food, the hamburger steak is good. And so is the Hannaras fried rice omelet. Will I go there again? Probably. Or maybe drive a little farther and go to Spinners Cafe at the harbor... or even to Kapolei.

This restaurant has passed its 10 years bench mark and still kicking as Waianae's Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner spot. One thing I like about Hanara's is that you can eat any meal, at any time during opening hours. A good tip, is that you can order the Korean sides for any plate lunch. Which is always great, because it comes with miso soup, pickled cucumber, kim chee and daikon. Best dishes I enjoy eating at Hanara's is the Banana Pancakes! Love that its always soft and crispy edges! Papaya is always fresh and you get a half a papaya, unlike other restaurants that only give a quarter or third. You can tell its all local produce, because there's no sticker on the skin. If you're hungry for a lot of food, gotta have their Pork Cutlet! You get a huge piece of fried pork, with brown gravy, two scoops rice and hot vegetable. This dish will definitely make you full. Homemade Loco Moco is broke da mouth! Tons of parking! No Wifi Don't expect for fancy, just home cooking.

The chicken cutlet is out of this world. The chicken cutlet is tender and has a crispy coating. Topped off with homemade gravy. You gotta go!

Having lunch with my mom and I couldn't agree more on the food the price the staff its a must have. I have to say HANNARAS is a have must on a daily basis. Our waitress Mary is the by far the best waitress cool calm collective. If you are on the westside come and visit hannaras.

Food was real good, although service was lacking, took order dropped off food never asked if we needed anything else. Never came to refill coffee or bring water.

  • Dan C.

Waitress was awesome. Food was good. The special was a lot of food and everything tastes great for someone that's never had this type of food before. Kids said the breakfast was really good too. Definitely not what you'd expect walking in.

  • Billy A.

It was cheap, decent, but nothing overly impressive. If you're in waianae and don't feel like driving then you won't be disappointed but you won't be blown away either. Service was really good

    (3)
  • Lisa M.

The food is very good. I always get the special by the same name. A delicious local meal when we visit Hawaii. The place could use some paint and new booths but that can be over looked. Prices are great the wait staff is always very busy but they never forget you. More than enough comfort food.

    (5)
  • Penny W.

Ok so 4 stars just because the employees don't really come back and check up on you too much but if you go in and get this one particular employee she is short oriental looking. She is the best one to have also the place just needs a little bit more cleaning and scrubbing and the parking lots need to be more accommodating because it's too small. Food on the other hand is awesome reasonable prices awesome portions and wonderful selections on the menu. So if you wanna up your customer service more and start training your employees to be a little bit more friendly then your business for skyrocket....

Staying in Makaha Valley with a friend and we were looking for a local establishment to grab a late lunch. Came across Hannara in a non-descript strip mall. Saw that it served breakfast, lunch and dinner so we thought, why not? Inside it resembles a standard diner/deli - counter seating. Asian-influence with typical American fare such as burgers and pancakes. My friend had the blueberry pancakes. They were HUGE - more like the size of 10" pan pizzas! And they tasted great! I had a bunch of sides including fried rice (awesome - authentic, reminded me of my mom's), macaroni salad (homemade) and miso soup (too salty for my taste). Was wanting a taste of something sweet but had no idea what Dobash cake is (It's like a hawaiian chocolate souffle). Maybe next time! They have counter seating and yes you need to go to the counter for your check. I think the owner is the only one allowed to run the register. If you are a tourist like me and are staying on the leeward side of the island this is a good place to stop by! I am sure we will again!

    (5)
  • Nel G.

They offer a wide variety; breakfast served all day, Hawaiian food, American food, Korean food and you can order it anytime. There's no "lunch hours" which is great for me. The best thing in my books is that they serve Eggs Benedict and I'm sure their the only ones who serve this in Waianae. It's truly amazing.

  • Leynna V.

Its alright.. not the greatest. It is one of the only restaurants that serve local food in waianae. They need to clean that place! Very dusty, and dirty. Very run down. Its an older place but still they need to maintain the restaurant. Food is good. Waitresses are moody tho not all are in a good mood. All in all if we had more restaurants in waianae, id eat there rather than here.

Hole in the wall place with great, cheap local eats. Hannara serves up mainly Korean and Hawaiian fare, which were all pretty good. One of the things I learned is that in Hawaii, portions are big and usually feed just one person. So in that sense, I felt inclined to order two dishes. I ordered the mahi burger with regular spam saimen, and my parents ordered the combo plate to share for themselves. This was definitely enough food for me and my parents. Food was tasty, although on the saltier side - but this is, what I've been told, is characteristic of Hawaiian cuisine. Banchan also came with the meal, which included seaweed, potato, and kimchi...all very tasty and fresh. The seaweed definitely was fresh because I had bit into a piece of sand or something (hope I don't get a chipped tooth!). Overall the service was really good (although others have said otherwise). The server was really sweet and thought my parents and I were local. Food came out fast and refilled the banchan too. The restaurant almost reminded me of an older version of a Hahn's Hibachi, since many of the items were similar (with the exception of the Hawaiian fare). Pricing was decent and affordable. If you're in Waianae, definitely hit up this place if you're hungry. FYI, when I went there, the men's bathroom was out of soap. So I snuck into the the women's bathroom to grab some soap from the dispenser. Overall, a great hole in the wall joint. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.

The "Big Three," most recommended to me by several friends of mine: the hamburger steak, banana pancakes, and tripe stew. Out of the three, I have tried only their self-proclaimed "best hamburger steak on the leeward side" and tripe stew. To say I didn't enjoy the hamburger steak would be a blatant lie. I loved it. The texture of the meat was just right along with a good portion of its complementary grilled onions. I also enjoyed the light brown gravy, white rice, and smooth mac salad. Although it is not the best hamburger steak I've eaten, it definitely belongs in the upper echelon in my book. However, the tripe stew was really murky and gave off an unfamiliar gamey taste. Hannara's is very accommodating of large parties with their cafeteria-like setting. In addition, the temperature is comfortable in a relaxed environment. They are also well staffed that resulted in quick service; seated, watered, dined promptly. The menu also houses a decent array of food ranging from American, Korean, breakfast items, and other local favorites. *Plentiful parking. *Generous portions. *Sticky tables and worn cups. *Other popular items I was recommended to try: Hannara Special and beef stew.

Hannara is adequate for no-frills diner food, as well as quick Korean fare. Prices are cheap, but in part because portions are small. Service is satisfactory. We came here mid-morning for breakfast on a weekday and pretty much every table was taken (and there are quite a few tables). I ordered a basic egg, ham and hash brown breakfast. I was a little surprised that the hash brown was a fairly good replica of the McDonald's hash brown. JP ordered a Korean dish, which came with several banchan. Interestingly, they do not leave the check on your table. So don't wait forever for it to arrive, just go to the cash register and tell the staffer there what you had and they will locate your check, which should be sitting there.

After a morning hike I need something in my tummy! Not to much places in Waianae to eat, so I ended up here. I had the Hawaiian plate, I had better tasting Hawaiian food at other places. My laulau was cold, lomi lomi was mushy. I don't think I'll be back.

It's an awesome, family, hole in the wall local place. The staff is sweet, the food is awesome and if your kids make some noise, it's alright. They make a mean cup of coffee, too. We will miss this place when we move, next year. Also, someone said their portions are small. Idk what kinda diabetes you're asking for, but their portions are very large, especially for the prices. We never eat everything on our plates.

  • Shana Q.

I have been coming here since I was a kid and years later it still looked the same and the food is not like how it use to taste like before. I got the Korean combination plate and it was super good! Large portion for 9.99 with sides of kimchee (which is super awesome one of the best I've tasted if u like it a bit sweet) and marinated see weed. My sister got the fried noodles probably not the best just too oily but my grandpa likes it. So really it's all on your own perspective. Still will be coming here If someone mentions it :)

Our friends asked to join them for lunch after our kids baseball game. Never heard of thid place and boy were we glad. The prices are so reasonable and food was delicious with nice size portions. The service was great too. Majority of us had the delicous hamburger steak but I tried their tripe stew. It was pretty good with lots of soft tripe. We will definitely go there again when we visit the west side. This restaurant serves american, korean, and Hawaiian food. What a great combination! If you have a bigger party, they all will find something on the menu. Awesome place!!

It's 8am in the morning and Hannara's is already filled to capacity. Why you may ask? Simply because this is the "spot" to be for breakfast and lunch. You'll find the locals and the early birds here enjoying a cup of coffee and catching up with one another. So if you don't mind the noise and the hustle and bustle of this place then you'll fit right in. They have great selections for their breakfast menu and a whole variety for lunch and dinner, one that even includes Hawaiian courses, so if you're trying to get your "kanak attack" on then this is the place to be. The prices here are very reasonable for the amount served. Quality and quantity is mui importante to me. No point in eating somewhere often if you can't have the best of both worlds. No this is NOT Hannah Montana. But seriously great place to eat if you are ever on the West side of the island of Oahu. Enjoy.

had a decent breakfast. If i was rating just the Banana Pancakes this would be a 5 star review. Absolutely the best pancake i've ever had. no need for syrup, just butter. The service was good, not great, but everyone was very pleasant. Will make this a breakfast stop for their amazing Banana pancake next time in town.

Service sucked. Radio so loud you can't hear anything else. Food was okay Reasonably priced but won't return because of the service.

Slim pickings for breakfast in Waianae. The banana pancakes and hamburger steak are always good. Disappointed that a take out order of the Korean special doesn't include the potato and mac salad or shrimp. It's odd that you have to walk up to the register to get the bill, we have told customers that as they were waiting for the bill to be brought to the table which wasn't going to happen! You never see an itemized list of what you ordered, trusting the owner to add it up correctly. Once we argued about the charges and he relented.

Such a great little place. Staff are really nice and food was tasty.... Especially the cheeseburger and kalua pork! Prices are extremely reasonable. Certainly worth a stop!

A cheap diner. The food is not very good. It's cheap for a reason. I don't know what they spread onto my toast, but it wasn't butter (gross!). You get what you pay for, most of the time!

This little hole in the wall is a hidden treasure in Waianae...only reason it is not a 5 star is that it could use a deep clean of the booths, floor. The kalua pig with cabbage was fabulous..my friends had a hamburger steak which was exceptional and the other one had a club sandwich which was mediocre. The servings are huge and prices are cheap! The service was quick and our waitress was attentive and smiling. Definitely worth the stop...right on the way to Ka'ena Point from town

Got the veggie omelet. It was pretty good, didn't knock my socks off or anything. Had hashbrowns with it and they weren't anything impressive at all, similar to a larger McDonalds hashbrown. Probably better ordering the steak if that's your thing, or the waffles. Food was reasonably priced, service good.

After running errands, it was still early and we hadn't eaten yet. The parking lot looked full but we found a spot near the entrance. Not sure if there was a hostess, but we seated ourselves. The table we chose though wasn't cleaned off yet so we waited for a waitress to clean our table. In their menu, they have a variety of choices to choose from. I would have ordered the Hawaiian Plate but I thought it was too early to have food like that. Ordered my usual breakfast (bacon, eggs and rice). Wait wasn't long and it was still hot! So hungry though that I just kept eating until I was done. I loved their bacon, they give four pieces. The eggs were alright and I felt like I didn't have enough. It's a restaurant, I feel like, that those in the neighborhood come in for their meals. I mean customers knew other customers and started talking story.

One of the best hamburger steak ever. Korean plate and Hawaiian plate was to die for too. Everything was Ono. When you go Waianae must stop to eat here.

Bomb fried rice and banana pancakes man!!! Gotta go there after surf, diving or just chilling down the west side. A must to go there an eat if you local or not. Hamburger is winners too and make sure you get EXTRA GRAVY!!!!

This restaurant reminds me of Zippy's in the sense that it's a good go-to restaurant that won't let you down. When my husband and I don't feel like cooking we know it's a "Hannara's Day". The portion sizes are good and the prices are reasonable. They serve a variety of food including American, Korean, Hawaiian, and local cuisine. The food is delicious. I've tried different dishes and liked it all. My favorite though is the fried saimin with spam. Their breakfast is also good. You gotta try the banana pancakes and the kalua pig omelette. The service is also fast and friendly, and there's a lot of parking. My only critique is that the restaurant could use a nice renovation. It reminds me of an old diner from the 80's. However, if a renovation means higher prices, I think keeping it the way it is with low prices is the way to go. I also wish they stayed open longer...they close at 8pm. Overall a good choice if you're on the leeward side.

I came here for the first time having a nice noontime lunch with traditional tattoo masters Lane and Keone. I think Keone is a regular here so that is why we came here. Anyways this is truly a local kine grind area in Waianae near the shopping plaza areas. I think the best way to describe the location is where it is near Leeward Community College (Waianae campus). Anyways, this joint claims that they have the best hamburger steak in town and they weren't kidding! It is differently different and unique (taste wise) from other hamburger steaks. The plate comes with macaroni salad. All of the food menu items here are regularly priced. The staff and customer services is good. They have a decent amount of table and seating areas. I guess it can be busy depending on what time you go but we came on a Thursday noontime and it wasn't that bad and it was pretty mellow. They have a parking lot conveniently located in front of the restaurant. This place kinda reminds me of Likelike drive inn in town but I definitely want to come back and try the curry hamburger steak next time which I was debating for my first meal over here. If you are in the Waianae area, check 'um out.

Visit this place every time we go to oahu. It is mainly locals, but they are friendly to tourists too. They have their own method/system - like th check is not brought to your table, you just go up to the front when you are ready to leave and pay. But it works for them and it is kind of a different/neat experience. The pancakes are always terrific here. Great place to go if you want a feel for a local hangout/diner experience.

I tried but couldn't come up with anything wrong with this establishment. The area may be the only thing but I won't hold that against them. Let's face it there prices reflect the area. Myself and 3 others all enjoyed our breakfast and we all would come back again. We arrived a little before 8am and had no trouble finding seating and being served. If you want a taste of true local cooking stop by and grab a bite!

This place is a good hole in the wall type dinner that is how I would describe it. Our food was good, the wait staff was friendly and personable. I had Ramen, wife had Bi Mhi Bap and our son had French toast

I went here with my husband the other weekend and we both loved it! I had the banana pancakes and they totally rocked my socks! I don't know what they do differently but my banana pancakes at home never seem to be this good. My husband had one of the fried rice omelettes on the menu and he really seemed to love it. Since I don't eat meat I didn't get to try it but his clean plate at the end of the meal said all. I'd definitely recommend this place. It seems like a good local eat :)

Best chicken cutlet ever! Better than rainbows drive in boneless chicken with gravy! Hamburger steak is 2 home made patties and is also very good. I think the gravy is key in both dishes. Yum

This isn't my first time coming here. I had come here with my mum and aunt and had an awesome time. I warned Mikey though that my experience there may have been more enjoyable because I had good company that day. I'm glad I said that. As soon as we entered the place, we walked to the corner booth. Not because we like sitting in the corner, but because EVERY other table was dirty. There was a waitress that seemed to be taking everyone's order. She wore gloves that I never saw her change. She dropped off menus and walked away. We saw her on the phone and standing behind the counter. She came and took our order, she was very friendly. I ordered a meat jun plate and Mike ordered a hamburger steaks. She brought extra stuff out; kim chee, steam sweet potato, seaweed, and soup. There was dust in my soup. Not only that, while she was placing the soup down, I saw her thumb dip into my soup. Needless to say, I didn't eat that. Our plates were huge. Very well portioned. It tasted delicious. We had been there for about half an hour and even by then, NONE of the tables were being cleaned. I saw women in the kitchen area talking and pointing at the tables from where they were at and the waitress seemed to have just disregarded them while she was on the phone. We paid for our food and left. The parking btw, is fine. There's a good amount of parking. However, this restaurant is definitely not someplace that I'd go allll the way out of my way to eat at. One star for the food, one star for the reasonable prices.

Hannara? It sounds like a place that would serve Japanese food, but you'd be wrong. This place serves a mix of American, Korean, and other local plates. Breakfast is also served. The hamburger steak is really good. It's a homemade patty with good gravy. The patty was fat and juicy. I also ordered the saimin, which was also good. This place reminds me of Tasty Crust on Maui. Hannara is a local style diner that locals go to all the time. It's a good place to relax and eat with friends. If you're in the area, I'd suggest trying this place out, instead of eating the typical fast food joints littered along the street.

Great local place, with Spam, of course. Awesome macadamia and banana pancakes, served with real butter and a great size. Service is great and it's a very cute place. When we went for dinner we weren't sure what to get and our waitress recommended a bunch of great stuff. Definitely recommend if you're in the north part if the island.

Consider that there is hardly any restaurants in Makaha, this place is decent for the tourists and great for locals. Remember, this place is for the locals. If you are looking for high end breakfast brunch with champagne, then go to Ko Olina. Service is a little lacking. Food came out fast and is edible. Koreans own this restaurants so expect some Korean food on the menu. Bums hanging outside of the restaurant. For tourists, if you are super hungry, it's a ok place to get breakfast before leaving the valley.

Good home style place. We came here on a recommendation from a local. The decor is plain, the service very friendly and the food is good. The Hamburger Steak is hearty and filling. The prices are very reasonable and dress very casual.

Local diner, we were the only tourists here for breakfast. The food was great, especially the banana pancakes, and the service friendly and quick. The prices were shockingly low for Hawaii. :). We went back 3 times for breakfast during our week's stay. Don't be put off by the strip-mall location, try it!

The Chicken Katsu is like the old Diner's Drive Inn in Kalihi. Banana pancakes is Ono. This place is the Wai'anae version of the Tasty Crust on Maui. Strange mix of Hawaiian food, Korean Food, American Food, and Japanese Food in one place....but it works. If you hungry, and your pockets are more full of sand than money, this is the place to go.

Local style diner. Booths and counter seating. Only been there for breakfast but been pleased every time. Food is good, hearty, large portions, nothing too fancy or gourmet. Service is prompt and efficient, if a bit brusque. It helps to be a local regular, but as an occasional visitor, never felt uncomfortable. Seems to be run by a staff of competent women from all parts of the Pacific Rim! Best breakfast: Bacon & eggs, no starch, with one laulau on the side! NEEDED protein that morning. It was served in no time, like every meal I've had there. The eggs and bacon were fine and the laulau was meaty and good! There's a tip basket by the register. If you leave a tip at your seat, it will be dropped in the basket, so leave it in the basket. I would keep returning for breakfast whenever I'm wesside!

My favorite plate lunch place to eat in Waianae. Been returning for years. Good food made local style. It's located right where Bayside Drive was. My favorite remembrance of Hamburger steak. Although the Mac was laced with Ajinomoto, what I recall was Ono! Hanara's is just as good! "Buying out again!" There goes another $50 bucks!

The fam has been going to Hannara's forever. It's Waianae's local diner that features local food with a Korean studded menu. Hearty portions. The burgers are super good, the bi bim bap is yum. I love their fries, but that's just because I like the crinkle cut fries that are soft on the inside. Fried rice omelet, french toast, pancakes, all good. I wish the club sandwich didn't have so much bologna and mayo in it and had more turkey. But I still eat it. Ordering take out is what we do more of nowadays. They're usually quick with cooking time but there is always a line to pay because it's often crowded. Maybe they should invest in two registers? My only qualms about the place is that you are often blessed with the sight of a runaway roach along the wall or floor, but that is just kind of the norm in Hawaii. Roaches and geckos are normal sightings wherever you go, unfortunately. You can't escape it. I have yet to find a roach in my food though, so that's good news. Also, I was surprised to find (after I had my own kid, of course) that they do not have high chairs...um, OK. Really? This is probably the only place I've been to ever, a diner no less, that doesn't have high chairs. I'll just bring my clunky stroller next time so my kid can have a decent seat and doesn't have to sit on my lap and try to steal my food when I eat. Haven't been in a while, so hopefully they've sprung for a couple since then. I think on Sundays they close at 2pm. Recap: Yummy food, best for take out. Not good for kids who are high chair age. Older kids and lap kids, OK.

Great local diner! My wife and I were staying in Makaha and found this place. We ate breakfast there. Prices are what you would expect to find on the mainland. Food was good, and there was plenty of it. Service was fast and friendly. My glass was never empty. Place does not look like much on the outside, but don't let that scare you away.

First off, when you walk in it's a diner style restaurant where you just sit where you want. The service is a bit cold, but they warm up fast. The food is fantastic! I had macadamia nut pancakes, spam and my BF had the omelet with rice. Sounds weird, but his omelet was so delicious and my pancakes were incredible. Another person said to ask for "the pancakes on listed on the menu". Unfortunately, I didn't know this going in, but it's supposedly the combination of everything. Nothing but locals eating there. True authentic experience. LOVED IT!

At first glance you would thing this is either a Japanese or Korean restaurant. It's neither. It's a local plate lunch style diner. When we went here I saw the sign inside, "Best hamburger steak on the leeward coast!" So obviously that's what I had to get. I have to admit though, there probably aren't too many diners on the leeward coast to compete with. BUT of all the places I had a hamburger steak on the leeward coast, this was probably the best. The hamburger itself was juicy and had just the right amount of softness. In your local plate lunch, you never want a hamburger brick, nor do you want those straight from Japan kind that are more like a loaf of bread. It was quite bit of food and I left stuffed. The prices are right on par with other local plate lunch diners in town. It seems like quite a local gathering place, so it's probably going to be quite busy throughout the day. That said, it's a lot larger than it looks from the outside, so they should have plenty of room to seat people. There should be plenty of parking right out front.

My step dad and brother love this place. Mom and I ate here for the first time last night when my dad brought us all home some food. I had bbq chicken, mom had meat jun, dad and brother had hamburger steak. I try not to eat too much chicken, and I have to say that this was delicious and well worth my chicken quota. It was cooked just right, had a good amount of char, and the marinade was so good!! The bean sprout/watercress salad was different and super yummy. Mom said it was the best mean jun she ever had, and also enjoyed the bean sprouts. Dad and brother of course enjoyed their hamburger steaks. I guess the food and great prices are why they are regulars. Now me and mom will be too!!

Thanks for your tips, Yelpers. We hit this whole in the wall because of your feedback. My wife was itching for banana pancakes and this was this shiz. She ordered 1 Banana and 1 Coconut. I ordered a couple Blueberry/Mac Nut. The flapjacks were really decent. Not 'large-american-style-overwhelmingly-huge-make-a-spectacle-of-yourself', but a nice size. I would have sworn they were homemade and that the batter wasn't from a package because they were nice and light. Could have eaten a couple more. Now I don't know if all local spots are like this in Waianae, but I couldn't believe the amount of gravy that got slung on people's food. And considering I was of pretty average heft (in Vancouver, I'm HUGE), I would say the locals frequent this place and love that gravy. I could have sworn I saw some big dude dip his hands in the pot like a thirsty gold prospector at the first stream he's seen in days. If you're a big fatty and love food covered in the grave, Hannara is your Nirvana. And if the rest of the food is anything like the pancakes, I could see myself coming here often and getting put on a gravy drip. I might even get to a point I'd get a ukulele and start singing 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

Went here with some coworkers. They have three sections of the menu that are Hawaiian, Korean, and American. This place is basically a diner that serves HUGE plates of greasy food from the three different cultures. The food was okay. I wasn't all that impressed.

Pros: Cost Unique menu items Hannara Omelet.....YUMMMMM. It's a fried rice omelet with a mix of other ingredients that go together well. This place has unique breakfast specialties that you can only get here. They kept the coffee flowing in our cups. The service was pretty fast, even during a full house. This isn't a white table cloth kind of place.... don't expect hand towels in the bathroom. This is a local diner style restaurant with better than expected food.

One of my girlfriends who lives in Nanakuli suggested I come out to her side of the island for some lunch for once.....honestly, I was a little skeptical, but I'm also up for new experiences! I live in Makakilo and the drive out there was not bad at all...rarely, if ever, do I drive past Koolina. As I pulled into the parking lot, it was in the lower left corner of a 2 story building that was mostly occupied by various businesses. The sheet glass windows and glass doors are totally blacked out so you can't even see inside the restaurant...I was a little nervous as my girlfriend led the way to open the door. When she opened the door I was pleasantly surprised! It was air conditioned..Yay! And it reminded me of a coffee shop.....lots of booths and stand alone tables and chairs towards the back. You just go in and seat yourself. The wait staff are not overly nice, but you could tell that they were really friendly with what seemed to be "the regulars". On one occassion my 12 year old son did mention that our server seemed like she just didn't want to be there, no smile and just so blah....maybe she was just having a bad day.... The menu is very extensive...American food, Hawaiian food, Korean food and local favorites. They seem to be famous for their Hamburger Steak...that is the first dish I tried and it was delicious.....but I've had better. My husband always eats breakfast when we go there, the pancakes are huge and delicious and they serve them all day! We've also tried the Chicken Katsu, Roast Pork, Grilled Pork Chops, Omelettes, Meat Jun w/ all the Korean vegetables on the side...oh and they have crinkle fries that are so ono with brown gravy! And a big plus....the prices are reasonable! When you're done eating, don't wait for the check..you just go up to the register and tell them what table you were at and they'll ring you up. All in all....a great place that is out of the way of all the hustle and bustle and serves breakfast past 12 p.m.

Solid, local restaurant. It seems like everyone in Hannara Restaurant knows each other. The local competition, especially for breakfast restaurants, is slim, but Hanarra's is still good. I've been here twice for breakfast and liked it both times. The pancakes were great. I would definitely return. This is a solid choice for tourists who want to get out for breakfast and want a good value. The waitstaff is friendly and professional.

I found this restaurant via a previous review on here... I spent 1 week in mid-July 10 minutes from this restaurant.... I want to tell you IT IS fantastic! One of our go-to restaurants close to home. It's great that they have a little of everything: Korean, American, Hawaiian, Bentos, Sandwiches and Burgers and Desserts! Not to mention they serve Breakfast all day until closing!! Their pancakes are FABULOUS, the portions are great and I also like their benedict. There's nothing on the menu that we don't like. So we're permanent regulars here and will always come back time and time again.

Hannara's is one of my favorite places to eat in Waianae. I haven't been here in 3 years but I'm planning to go back there one of these days.. I tried almost EVERYTHING on the menu and my favorites so far are the banana pancakes, katsu plate, vegetable chowmein and the breakfast plate. The restaurant is located about half a mile from where they filmed an episode of LOST! Long live Mr. Echo, haha!

This is a great local dive. It's way out in Waianae on the west side of Oahu. They have friendly service and the food is good and cheap. We went there on a rainy Thursday morning. The place was packed. We had to wait a little bit but it was worth it. We asked the waitress if it was packed like this every day. She said that because it was rainy, all the construction workers have breakfast there. She wasn't kidding. We saw the banana-mac pancakes and wished we ordered some. We give HR 3 because it's not a destination restaurant. But, if you happen to be in Waianae, give it a try. You'll like it.

Wanted to take a drive one Sunday morning and decided to try out Hannara for the first time. Packed up the family and headed to Waianae. We finally arrived and we were all super hungry. The restaurant was bigger and not as crowded as I expected for a Sunday. Not as clean as other Yelpers mentioned but it could have been the dated decor. Some diners were eating lau lau and beef stew for breakfast but I was hungry for pancakes. Ordered eggs benedict with a short stack of banana macadamia pancakes to share. My eggs benedict was okay but the pancakes were delish! My step-daughter had the fried rice omelet and that was pretty good. Husband and daughter had scrambled eggs, Portuguese sausage and rice so, how can you mess that up?! Overall, the food and service was fine. However, I would come back just for the banana pancakes. When I feel venturous again, I'll stop by for lunch/dinner to check out other items.

Though it has a name befitting a traditional Japanese restaurant, Hannara Restuarant offers a full selection of local favorites...and more! Hannara's has a fairly wide variety of dishes on the menu. They serve breakfast (all day?), local (hamburger steak, etc.), Western (their wording), Korean, and some rather decent looking desserts. There's simply too much to choose from on the menu, but by all accounts, they do it all quite well. I decided to try the Korean food for my first visit as it seemed the most out of place on a menu that is otherwise similar to local eateries such as Like Like Drive Inn, Columbia Inn, etc. Let's eat. SPICY BBQ PORK Good flavor & tender meat. Not that spicy though. BBQ CHICKEN Good flavor, well cooked. Would have liked a bit more "grilled" flavor, but otherwise good. BANCHAN (SIDES) Just as I was surprised to see a whole Korean section on the menu and then to find that the Korean BBQ was quite good, I was surprised when they brought out side dishes just like at a Korean restaurant. However, though the seaweed was good, the kim chee was lacking flavor, and the potatoes were rather bland and mostly mush (e.g. not separate pieces of potato). The portions were quite generous and the prices were rather reasonable. I left comfortably filled, which is something that is not very easy to do. Considering the quality of the Korean food, I would definitely come back here again and try other items.

This is an out of the way part of the Island of Oahu but we are glad we stayed in the area (Makaha). This place was recommended highly by others in the condos we were staying at. Not much to look at, a true diner experience. We loved it and ate at it twice in one week which says a lot for the place. It was inexpensive and everything we ordered - from hawaiian to korean to american, was all good. The mac pancakes were super filling. The Korean bolgogi was the best my husband said he's had anywhere and my daughter and so liked their Hawaiian food too. My daughter opted for the lau lau and poi and my son got the eggs and spam and rice. The waitresses were all spot on and friendly as was the guy bussing tables. Lots of locals eat here which is the best sign of all. Good, cheap eats and good service.

Like everyone else, tons of variety and cheap prices. Cant beat that!!! But on the downside, It has a super dated mainland truck-stop (Flying J) feel to it. Waitresses in dated dress/uniforms. I felt like I was stuck in the late 80's. All they were missing is the phones attached to the boths. And it didn't look or feel super clean... but if that doesn't bother u- try it! its on the westside. :)

They have the best hamburger steak around. Yes, homemade is the best. I call this a hole in the wall Restaurant, just because it's been here for a long time. Local spot..

3.5 stars as i mentioned in another review in waianae, restaurants are slim pickings. i was almost going to rate it a 4, due to it being pretty much the best food there is on around the area. but it of course doesn't compare to the 4 stars i rated for other restaurants. the food is good, wholesome, comfort food. diner-esque food, but w/ hawaiian flavor. service is good, very nice ppl. portions are HUGE, of course. mac pancake was good (will give 49er diner a run for their money) it's cheap!!! :D

DINER! not casual or classy! with that said the food is good nd well priced. its a walk in and seat yourself and the waitress will get to when she can kind of atmosphere. real local style, i've recomended this place to several tourists, visitors and they have enjoyed it. just gotta look past the aged furnishings and lax attitude.

I must say that the food is not too bad. I enjoy the Hanara special. We would go much more often, but we really try not to because of the poor condition of the establishment. It's grimey, service is ok, and furniture is in bad condtion. Tables rock, seats are torn, walls are dirty. They have a lot of business and you'd think they have a little more respect and gratitude for their customers, but no. Upgrade it already. This is my humble opinion.

As soon as this place is renovated & updated, it will def be a 5 star rating. Until then.. It gets a 3. Love their hamburger steak, pancakes & wings :)

This place has gone down hill since the original owners sold. Same menu, but it has lost its quality. If I wrote this review ten years ago, it would have been much different.

Food is pretty good, nothing super special. I tried a lot of different things from the menu since we had a party of 5 with us and the only thing I can remember was that the pancakes were awesome. Overall not a bad place to eat, though the service was really slow but maybe I was there on an off day.

The food was iight. Watch out for the spoiled condiments that come with the Koreran dishes.

What's the Scoop? Really a 4 star, but I give it a 5 because this is the best you'll find on the west side. Very diverse selection. Korean restaurant with everything else. Straight to the point place. Local favorite Price: Good. Must try: Hannara special omelet is very good. Get the spicy korean pork! (Dae jee buhr go gee) Parking: Good. Note: Hannara in Korean means "One Nation."

The banana-mac pancakes really hit the spot, as did mixing their syruppy goodness with some darn tasty portuguese sausage. mmm.... The 4th star is for the awesome menu and letting us store our boards in the back of the restaurant rather than in our quickly heating car, under the beating sun.

I'm not so sure about the category "American traditional" -- more like, Hawaiian traditional. The first item in the category of American food on the menu is grilled tofu. ;) We stopped by for lunch at 2 pm on a Thursday, having taken the dolphinexcursions.com snorkeling tour (awesome!). We were very hungry. There weren't many choices in Waianae, but Yelp came to the rescue again. I had the veggie omelet (huge, fluffy, and non-greasy), fried Spam, half papaya and coffee. My daughter had the French toast (crispy outside, dusted with cinnamon). In the group we also had bi bim bop, Hawaiian pork and cabbage (with sides of rice and macaroni salad), and Hannara saimon (some kind of noodle bowl with a fried shrimp on top, diced ham and veggies inside). Every meal was great. Should you end up on the far west side (and I hope you do take the dolphin boat tour) then this is the place to go eat afterwards.

Pretty good hole in the wall restaurant where all the locals eat at. Good food and portion at an affordable price. Love their banana macadamia pancakes and Korean plate.

Had a great dinner tonight at Hannara. I had hamburger curry with rice, from the Hawaiian menu. My friend had BBQ pork from the Korean menu, with a sampling of appetizers. All of it was yummy. No, this is not a fancy place but the food was really good. The hamburger curry had lots of fresh carrots and potatoes in it and was quite tasty. The staff was helpful, kept our water glasses full, and were very willing to help us figure out what things were and what we should try. I'll be back here again.

Clean and fresh, great value. The bi bim bop is outstanding- the short rib chicken plate is huge!!! Tried to get BBQ sticks as a side but it got lost off the order meat good mac salad ok, service super fast, it's clean and local and tasty... we wanted to go back, and we will for sure on our next trip.

Where do you stop to eat in Waianae, after a day of surf and sand? Just remember the patience is a virtue when you plan to eat here. If you are not waiting in line or waiting for service you are chowing down "da local grinds to the max", with the clean Korean influence. This type of restaurant normally smells like old grease but not here. When the temperatures are hot, Hannara's keeps the AC on the dl. Hawaiian plate, hamburger steak with grilled onions, da work crew's favorite but you might have to budget in a siesta.

This is where the locals eat. My boyfriend's friend eats there almost every day and we eat there with him when we go visit him. Same waitresses every year who provide really good service. Yummy mac nut pancakes -- even the fake maple syrup can't harm them. (I'm really a stickler for real maple syrup). The egg dishes are pretty good -- even the benedict's sauce is decent. The hash browns are the deep-fried McD's type (good if you like it that way). The corned beef hash looks nasty, but my boyfriend will eat it. I almost always get the pancake special -- 2 pancakes, 1 egg, 2 pieces bacon (or whatever meat you want) -- It's $4.45. Half papaya with lemon is $2.25, I think. I love papaya.

Awesome place to pick up food and head to the beach! The menu includes breakfast items, American food, Local food, and Korean food. Both the Bi Bim Bop and the fried mandoo were great choices! This was the first time my wife ever ordered a Bi Bim Bop with scrambled eggs, but it was the right choice since we were headed to the beach and it would be easier to eat etc... Definitely stop by and eat in or take out the food to the beach!

if your anywhere on the Waianae coast and you want breakfast this is like your only option,,, and it's suprisingly good!!!! They do a mac/pancake that's totally different than "boots and kimo" but it's just as good, the syrup is maple and the mac nuts are blended into the batter and cooked together, simple to make at home but why bother with the prices they charge (it's cheap, it's waianae remember) I usually get the mac/pancakes, port/ sausage-eggs-hashbrown plate, comes out less than ten bucks and wash it down with oj (tastes like freshly squeezed). or as dana said the eggs benedict are also good. the place isn't fancy but the food is good, the service is good and it's a great way to start off the work day by eating yourself into a coma state then going to work and being as unproductive as possible (at least it works for me).

Had the Korean short rib & chicken plate. Wow - delicious! The meat was tender, two scoops of rice, tasty veggies and a dollop of mac salad. The mac salad was the only part that didnt do it for me, but thats not my rhing anyway. I was amazed at how much food they gave you for like $9! And they were fast - like amazing fast. A defenite winner for eat in or take out.

The place is very casual. The prices are reasonable. The service is ok. There is lots of parking stalls available. They have chinese, japanese, korean, hawaiian, and local food items on the menu. I would recommend this restaurant. It is like a Zippy's but better, cheaper and better portions in my opinion.

good local grindz... take the drive away from da touristy spots it's worth it... no need to hurt da pockets if you like home food and no hol' back on grease and flavor you gotta go... if you are on a diet don't complain, you're on a diet eat at da produce in da supermarket... you guys have no right to complain what is bad cuz in reality almost everything you eat out is bad... so relax and eat local grindz...
