This is a great little small-town store. Even though it's part of a Big Island chain, this one feels like Pahoa. Grab some lunch here, sit outside next to the jungle garden, and enjoy the people-watching. You won't find a great diversity of ingredients here, but they stock pretty much what you'd expect at a natural foods store. They can run out of specific produce items by the end of the day, but check back tomorrow. They have a pretty nice beer selection. There's some anti-GMO propaganda to read as well. The hot buffet is small but good, especially for lunch. They have meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan entrees, plus a small salad bar. There's also a tiny sandwich and smoothie bar in the back, which we haven't tried.

It's where I go for a good morning cup of coffee that is strong and fresh . The hot food bar there is excellent as we'll . The staff has always been helpful and friendly ! It's an interesting place to shop , as the cilantro there is colorful to say the very least.

Very good quality products. Some hard to find stuff can be found here, pretty fresh. Tasty hot bar - love the pastries! Good morning coffee, nice place to sit out front and eat, visit with others. Parking is easy. I'd shop there a whole lot more if the prices were better. It seems to be a fortune every time i go, so commodity items - milk, eggs, cheese, juices etc, I get elsewhere, but special items I will get at "the natch" High quality indeed.

This store was a nice find in the small town of Pahoa. We found it to have a nice selection and prices weren't bad for the tourist location. Their deli was awesome and we heard from the checker at the register that not only do they have a chef, they have a back-up chef. Looking forward to trying their smoothie bar next time!

The service and product quality here were top notch, but I had a hard time finding all the ingredients I wanted to put together all of our meals for our week's stay, and everything was very expensive, even for the islands. It did have a more boutique feel than the other store we visited (Malama Market), but some of the items they shared were more expensive at I. N.

I really like the Hilo Island Naturals, but the Pahoa location definitely leaves something to be desired...I shall outline below. 1. The prices here compared to those at the Hilo location are considerably more. I understand that there's a bit extra in transportation costs, but it still seems pretty steep. Also, the sales extant at the Hilo location don't seem to carry over. 2. A few staple items are missing. Egg replacer and soy-meat crumbles come to mind (even KTA has these). 3. Many employees here don't know their products. I've gotten blank stares when asking about tofurkey, nutritional yeast, textured vegetable protein, and quinoa all on different occasions. Each time I found the items on my own after about a minute of searching. I also called to ask when they closed once and the girl said she didn't know and then hung up. 4. Sometimes the people that hang out here are a bit odd. Not the neat tree hugging type of odd but the kind where they ask you for a ride to Hilo and offer to balance your chakra in return. My chakra is just fine, Moonblossom, stop trying to touch me. Still, it is nice to have healthier options than the other nearest grocery store (Malama Market), and they just redid their parking lot which was certainly needed.

I really enjoyed all of the Island Naturals on my Hawaiian vacation, the Pahoa being my second favorite location after Hilo. The Pahoa Island Naturals was the only one where I could get a bacon tempeh sandwich with sprouts and spicy vegenaise and it was DELICIOUS. The house made peanut butter chocolate bars were sooo good. I enjoyed the prepared Kava drinks, and the good produce section. My only complaint was the girl who made my sandwich was pretty much the most unfriendly person I encountered on the island! But the sandwich was still good...

We eat only organic and natural foods. I was thrilled to find this place. One thing is for sure...it's a total Hippy hangout. I call it my "Hippy Market" now instead of Island Market. They're all super nice, so no biggie. I think it's quaint. The place is small, but seems to have everything I need. Small but good local organic produce section as well. They have a small cooked food buffet, which I didn't eat from, so I don't know how it is, but LOTS of other people in line had plates of food. I think since it's so tiny, and cramped, and packed that it's probably worth a 3 star, but since they are so well stocked with so many things I never thought I'd find in Pahoa I'm giving it 4 stars.

Great to have a natural grocery in Pahoa. We stocked up on beer, wine, coffee beans (organic), soy milk and bagels/Tofutti for our rental in Kalpana. Service was good - friendly cashier. Prices weren't too bad...for Hawaii.

Found a perfect fresh croissant, a perfect smoothie, and a perfect cup of coffee at a comfortable price for breakfast at Island Naturals' breakfast bar on my LAST morning on Hawaii. I don't think I've found any place in my home city, Santa Rosa, CA, that has satisfied me as thoroughly. Prices on health and beauty products were comparable to Northern Cali health food store prices and the selection was great. The bulk section was also well-stocked and affordable. Bottom line....So grateful this place was conveniently located during my vacation!

A little small and crowded, but had all that my gluten free family needed. A bit pricy, but considering the amount of organic and specific dietary foods they carry, and the fact that is on an island seems to even out the cost. Definitely a good find in Pahoa.

This is my idea of heaven on earth. This place has everything that I need. A great place to stop off on the way to the beach. This place is also a great respite after a hard days surf.

Obviously good supply of healthy foods. Too bad you feel like you're in a pac man video trying to avoid being gobbled as it's extremely cramped and small and I couldn't idle long in any corner of the store without being forced to move along. Parking was crazy too; and overall a frenzied experience shopping, due to the crowded space inside and out. Probably best to find the least busy times to shop if you like to linger and read labels.

This place is good, especially the sandwiches and desserts. The vegan chocolate cake with the "chocolate" chips in the frosting is TDF. and so is the chocolate and liliko'i cake. It's expensive, but what health food store isn't? At least the food is actually healthy unlike the giant mainland health food market chain (that I can't mention by name cause I go there all the time) that sells anykine GMO foods. If you want to write a check, though, you gotta be pre-approved and on their check list...

I love all the Island Naturals, this one included. For me it is all about the chocolate lilikoi cake. Just trust me. So freakin good!!! I love that they carry fresh local turmeric and fresh local goat cheese. I am not a goat cheese fan, but it is my BFFs fave and I have to make sure to take her a freezer bag full when I go back to Seattle. It is her favorite food in the universe. Just a good overall health food store. Nice staff too :)
