Picked up a couple of tuna sandwiches and some cut up pineapple for a quick lunch on the go. The people were super nice, the sandwiches were huge and the bread was super fresh. It's not the kind of place where you expect a gourmet experience, but it's good.

Sure there are ways to maybe get your mangos, sweet Maui onions, and pineapples, but getting anything through Hawaii Ag inspection that doesn't have a seal and a stamp is a crap shoot. Do you know how many papayas I've left at OGG??? Take Home Maui is a decent alternative. Most visitors are going to spend at least one day in Lahaina anyway, so get a box of onions to bring home. Toss in a papaya for me as well. They also can ship your island grown fruits and veggies via UPS so you don't have to deal with anything at the airport, but what fun is that?

Take Home Maui is a shop on Dickenson St., just a half-block up from Front St. in Lahaina. Their primary business is exporting locally grown delicacies such as pineapples, coffee beans, macadamia nuts, etc. by the case, or in gift baskets. Due to the high cost of overseas FedEx, this is quite expensive. It's also a local deli, preparing fresh salads, sandwiches, and desserts to go. This is one of the few places in Lahaina where you can get something inexpensive to eat, without having to actually sit down in a restaurant filled with tourists. This is one of the destination stops on my early morning bike rides around the island. I come here for the refreshing fruit smoothies, made with fresh fruit which they blend with POG (pineapple/orange/guava juice) and ice. You can hang out and relax on the front porch of this old plantation house as long as you like, and chat with Kehau, the talking parrot, while you enjoy your food and the sights. takehomemaui.com/aboutus…

It's a little mom and pop hole in the wall off Front Street, but it is a great place to get quick and easy deli sandwiches - I got the turkey and cheese made on the softest wheat bread, garnished with pickles and banana peppers. Your friendly service counter / sandwich maker was Filipino "uncle" type that gave me some shave iced tips. On the other side of the store is a shipping service where you can ship home Maui Gold pineapples and sweet Maui onions to your house so that you can have some Maui love waiting for you when you come home from your vacation. This place might not be fancy, but it's a really nice place to grab a sandwich and soda and chill on their patio to relax from the busy Front Street shopping.

This deli & catering service is absolutely amazing! While my friends & I were in Maui in late February, fabulous owner Vickie really took care of us, providing the freshest produce, along with delicious and beautifully displayed food for some catered events. I even bought items from the store to take home as gifts. This deli provides a unique selection of delicious food items. And even though I live far from Maui, I plan on placing more orders to deliver to my Maui friends!

Hands down my favorite place to eat and hang out. It is a very chill little green shack. The workers are filled with aloha and make you feel very welcome. Don't forget to say hello to Kehiu ( little African gray bird) in the front!

Sam was very helpful. I'm not a big deli person so he suggested all the best combinations. I was picking up food for friends and let him know I wanted to wait a bit before taking it so he put it in his chill box for me. The smoothies were very good. Well blended and very refreshing. Sandwiches were amazing too.

I've lived on Maui for close to 4 years, and Take Home Maui is my go-to spot for bomb-diggity deli sandwiches (my fave: salami with provolone and avocado and spicy mustard) and made-on-Maui gifts. I love chatting with Vickie (if you had an amazing beach read, let her know, she's a huge bookworm), and I always make sure to say hi to Kehau, Take Home Maui's resident African Grey Parrot--be careful, he can swear like a sailor ;) This is the ultimate Ma and Pa Shop with great eats at amazing prices with great local gifts. Want to impress someone back home, send them a Maui Gold Pineapple! Next time you're in Lahaina, make sure to stop by and support this amazing local business.

Small deli located off front street. The ladies behind the counter were very nice. I got a sandwich and a smoothie for $13. They were both delicious! I would definitely go back

Great little deli counter to get nice fresh sandwiches. Sometimes cold cuts are just perfect on a hot day. Nice variety of meats and bread. Pasta salad was also good. Sandwiches are generous size. Great spot to grab a quick bite before whale watching or shopping.

We were greeted as soon as we walked inside this cute little shop. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich and it was the best I've ever eaten. My husband ordered the chicken salad and daughter ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese and turkey. Definitely the perfect lunch spot or anytime you want a good sammy while in Lahaina!

Cool concept but very expensive. The gentleman working there didn't really seem to want to help us. We inquired about having some pineapples delivered to the airport (when the sign says it is free), but stated that he would prefer we pick it up. Awesome....not...

I mail my parents 2 Hybrid Maui Gold pineapples every time I am in Maui. Beats a postcard every time! 4 stars because it's a little $$ but worth the joy it brings my mom and dad.

As Lahaina as it gets. If you're looking for a good Veggie sandwich and smoothie then Take Home Maui is the place. Great place for families or anyone looking for something besides overprice cheeseburgers, fried mahi mahi and bad service.

The man was very knowledgeable about pineapple and I enjoyed talking to him. However, the deli is average and the Maui Golds can be purchased at Walmart.

Great food in the Deli -- try the tuna fish salad; it's a good as it gets. Amazing taste. Also had Sam pack up some pineapples for us to take back home; quick service and no hassles at the airport. Great little place, no frills; just good food and good service. We will come back again & again!

This would be my favorite sandwich on the Lahaina side. I love the atmosphere because it's old school Lahaina (plantation) style.Very casual--you order from deli counter and sit outside on the lanai. The menu has basic deli style choices (turkey, ham, veggie) or you can build your own sandwich. They also offer green salads, fresh fruit smoothies, pasta salad and usually have some sort of lasagne available. If you are looking to ship home any Hawaiian tropical fruits they actually specialize in doing just that at a reasonable price. If you are going to eat here make sure and buy something to drink before arriving because this is where they hit you in the $$$.

The friendliest people on the island. Sam is a hoot as well as the parrot. Best smoothies with fresh fruit. The Maui Gold pineapples are to die for. Since Hawaii doesn't export anymore they grow enough for the locals and tourists. Perfection. Been to Hawaii 10 times and have brought home pineapples from Take Home Maui 10 times. No trip complete without them. See you next year.

We stumbled upon this cute little shop as we were walking to Front Street and I'm SO GLAD WE DID! I am a vegetarian that is visiting from LA and this place has been my FAVORITE stop so far. Not just because I'm vegetarian though, my husband had a turkey croissant sandwich with avocado and swiss and he said he absolutely loved it. I got the veggie wrap with avocado and provolone and it was so great. The people were so nice and helpful. Can't wait to come back :)

Great little fruit stand/store right off Front St in downtown Lahaina. When we were honeymooning in Hawaii, we stopped by here a bunch of times to get fresh fruit in the morning. The stuff you buy there to eat right away is very reasonably priced, but the send home stuff is pretty expensive. I understand it probably costs a lot just to ship. Either way, it is some of the best pineapple I have ever had. They also have very nice employees. We stopped here before they opened one day to buy some pineapple (thrown off real bad from the 6-hour time difference) and they let us in to buy some food. I like that kind of customer service - definitely goes a long way with me. Great place - if you are in Lahaina, definitely stop by.
