Naupaka Terrace Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This review is in reference to Naupaka's breakfast buffet. The service here is awesome, the staff is friendly and accommodating, unfortunately the food is horrible. Which is too bad since we are staying in the hotel and this would have been a good go to spot. Here is what I sampled: Coffee: I'm usually not picky about coffee but their coffee was awful, it had a horrible after taste, I only could make it through 1/2 a cup. Eggs: Bad. I suspect they are made from a powder. Portuguese sausage: Way too much fat in the sausage, no flavor too, so disappointed. Cheese Danish: stale. Bread pudding: this was the only delicious item in the entire buffet, but I can't just have bread pudding for breakfast :( I know that the Naupaka Terrace serves lunch and dinner but after such an awful breakfast experience, we didn't want to risk spending another $50 on another potentially bad meal.

The service here is unbelievable. From the hostess Sarah to the server Scott and all the dining attendants. We went here for dinner because we attended the stars above hawaii activity. We always come here for the breakfast buffet which is always good as well. We started with the soup and salad bar which had a variety of salads to enjoy. The lobster bisque was amazing including fresh crab meat. Yum yum good!!!! Also the kids penne pasta with chicken and Alfredo was not only delicious but the pricing is a plus. ($10) who could go wrong. My red snapper was so delicious and my husbands steak was really good for the price. I have to agree with the review from rob. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere but the service and food is more than casual. Then for the desert we had a really good apple something with ice cream that was phenomenal and my kids enjoyed it as well. Overall as always my husband says we will return!!!

Upscale buffets, beautiful unique atmosphere, CRAB LEGS I actually wanted one of my words to be SHARK. Why shark? Because the last time my husband took me there we were seated next to a pond of sharks!!! Yes real live flesh eating man killing sharks at the foot of our table. Okay so they are sorta small and they probably arent man killing but how unique is that? Its so cool to see them so close (though it is still safe) and just be able to watch them from your table. The lighting and the set up is really nice. You can see the sky from where you are and as the sun goes down it gets much more romantic. Theres live music there certain times of the weekend and it feels very dinner on the beach-ish (except you arent on the beach). I have experienced both the breakfast buffet as well as the seafood buffet and they are both upscale and by upscale I mean fancy and pricey. But to me it is worth it. The food is good, the set up is nice, and always looks clean and full of food. I think its much better then a lot of the buffets at the other hotels. Oh and me oh my the CRAB LEGS. Its not no bebe flavorless crab legs its Alaskan King Crab Legs! Full of flavor and very rich. Though its not the biggest crab legs in the whole wide world I think the size is good and you get a good amount of meat. Not only is the crab legs very well seasoned but the prime rib and the pork loin are also very full of flavor. I appreciate how well seasoned everything was. Customer Service was okay. I feel for the price you pay the service should be a little bit more on it. Our waitress was a doll but we waited a while for refills. And the bus boy attended every tourist around us but didn't say a peep to us. That sort of attitude is a huge pep peeve for me thus the 4 stars. I get it this is a hotel full of tourist, but if a local family or couple or customer is here and is a paying customer then we should also get the same quality service. its not as if we were loud obnoxious or rude, we were pretty to ourselves. I tried to ask him to take our plates but he sorta just walked passed us quickly the second attempt he said he would be right back and came back but walked right pass us to ask the table next to us if they were okay and ignored us when we tried to ask for water. I dont got no damn time for bus boys on high maka maka trips. Seriously you are a bus boy relax with your bad self! LOL ok that was mean. Half sorry! Overall despite the snotty bus boy, I enjoy the buffets and the mister and I will be back to watch the sharks again and try their pau hana buffet :) I suggest this for couples and families! We are looking forward to bringing our boys (they love seafood).

"I highly recommend Naupaka for the Pau Hana special dinner on Friday nights. The soup and salad bar had lots to choose from it was fresh and Delicious decided on the prime rib. It was very flavorful compliments to the Chef. The special offered a nice bottle of wine for 5$ We got Chardonnay, didn't finish the bottle so they let us take it with us to our room, I thought that was nice. However the special did not include dessert which would have completed the meal but otherwise Naupaka had **** with good service good food and a awesome experience"I would definitely return to Naupaka!

We decided to try the seafood buffet here and I came away disappointed. We get seated and weren't even offered any choice if beverages. I asked the waitress after I had a few plates of food if any drinks were were included with the buffet and she stated just ice tea. Really???? $54 for a buffet and just get iced tea. I get that this is Hawaii and all, but come on. The main highlight of the buffet was the king crab legs and they were tasty. The crab legs were not split or sliced so it did take extra work to get to the meat. They did supply crackers and cutters for the legs, so that helped. The shrimp were good sized, but again were in the shell and u had to work at getting the meat separated from the shell. I tried the poke and it really did not taste fresh and was on the slimy, mushy side. We got to the buffet a bit late, but thought it would still have plenty of fresh food. The desserts looked ok, but the highlight for me was the marshmallows with the rich chocolate that I dipped each and every marshmallow into and covered it with the chocolate all the way around. If I had to choose, I would stick with the all u can eat poke at the Kuhio Grill at the Marriott Hotel in Waikiki on Tuesday nights. It's less than half the price of the seafood buffet and the poke is fresh and delicious.

I've had their Sunday Champagne Brunch here twice and both times I've had a good experience - the selection is pretty big and the food is always delicious! I really like the omelette station with a variety of choices to add - but the last time I was there (this past Labor Day weekend) there was only one person manning the omelettes, so it did take a little long for my order to be ready. Service is always a winner and the view at brunch time is pretty nice...depending on where you sit! My family and I will be staying at Aulani in December; and I already recommended we walk over here for Sunday Brunch, instead of doing the character breakfast again...even though I love taking pictures with the characters ~ I'm pretty sure everyone will enjoy the food here more!

Came for the Tuesday night prime rib buffet. The Sevice was excellent as well as the prime rib and the BBQ pork. Make sure to save room for the warm bread pudding.

The food gets 4 stars but the service gets 1 star so that's why I gave it a 2. Here's the problem- we walked in, there was no one else in the place so you'd think the service would be great, not so much. There were two employees, one seemed to be the manager, chatting about four feet from our table for about half of our meal- RUDE! Take it somewhere else, fellows! I'm trying to enjoy my dinner with my family without hearing about your business. The waiter kept forgetting to give us what we asked I'm to bring- hello- we are your ONLY table! Anyway, if you can deal with crappy waiters and rude management (I think that's who it was) then go cuz the food is good and they have a good salad bar.

I've been here twice and I have to say that the food is delicious! As always I feel like things can always be improved on so that hopefully they can fix them and be on their way to a perfect rating. Fixer Uppers: 1. Front desk girls/hostesses need a brush up on customer service. First time I came here was for mother's day brunch. We weren't acknowledged until after one of the hostesses was finished laughing loudly and obnoxiously with a fellow hostess or worker. Wow. Trying to show my mom a good time and you ignore us for some inside jokes? Not cool. Second time I came here: the blond one was too into yet another hostess or worker to even greet me. It's okay. I'll find my own party by walking around. Thanks for nothing. I suggest a customer service class or something because apparently the only thing they want to do here is socialize with each other. 2. During each buffet/brunch no one was helping with the roast beef or ham or whatever the huge chunk of meat is for the day. I get it: the omelet guy can multitask and that will be okay. Ummmm, no. As a customer we don't like to stand there for 10 minutes staring at the meat we wish we could be taking to our table and stuffing into our mouth. Get someone to help out please! 3. It's an outside restaurant but let's figure a better way to keep those birds away. 4. Replace the food as quickly as possible. Nothing like lifting the lid of a dish only to find it empty. That's the major stuff to work on. On to the great parts: 1. Luckily after horrible first impressions thanks to the hostesses, the servers are on their game! First time I had Maria. Totally knows how to take care of guests and goes above and beyond. Even a little thing like helping us take a group picture felt more special by her. She moved the glasses off of the table and took a few more than the usual one shot only and re arranged us so we could get multiple shots! She's a great server! Second time was Grace. Wow! Again she is totally on it! Made us feel like we were the only table around even though that morning they were fully booked. It's almost like she's a mind reader. Before we could ask for anything she was already setting stuff on the table! She was amazing and would definitely recommend sitting in her section! 2. The bus boys/attendants are attentive! Water glass was never empty and dirty dishes didn't stay on the table for very long! 3. Parking is free with validating! Score! 4. The hotel and atmosphere is beautiful. Check out the shark pond and stingray pool! So 2/3rds of the restaurant are awesome. Let's work on the1/3rd especially since first impressions count for a lot *cough cough* hostesses!!

I have to say that coming back from eating at Vegas buffets a few weeks ago, this one seemed kinda small...BUT...the quality of the food was outstanding. The prime rib was sooo tender and full of flavor that I couldn't resist and went back for another piece...big mistake when I didn't have the Alaskan king crab legs yet. Somehow I made room for crab and was not disappointed. Most buffet crab legs are either water logged, dried out or ice cold. This one was perfect...and hot! I could go on and on about the other items but you just need to go try it for yourself. One tip....if you're local be sure to ask for the kamaaina discount. ..you get 10% off which is sure better than 0% off any day! ....and eat the crab first. One otner thing...the service here is fantastic! I had my 95yr old Grandmother with me and they took great care of her when I wasn't able to assist her. Highly recommended you try this place.

He took me here on Valentine's Day. We had reservations in the Italian restaurant next door (Azul), but even with a reservation, there was a LONG wait. Not a fan of waiting on lines, so we happily agreed to move next door to Naupaka Terrace where there was no wait. The Space (4.5 stars): You walk right through the center of the JW Marriott Hotel to the back and then down a two (2) flights of stairs to their outdoor area. Clean, tropical, quietly elegant. We were seated at what I think was the best table in my opinion. It was the outdoor table in the rightmost corner next to the Koi pond with Hammerhead sharks. Talk about conversation starter. My boyfriend was so excited haha. The Service (4.5 stars): Our server came to take our drink orders - this took awhile, but when they would arrive, we would just order our next round. We were suprised with an amuse bouche. At a buffet, no less. I was impressed. The Food (3.75 stars): The amuse bouche was actually really, really good and beautifully presented - mini crabcakes with lemon basil aioli. The buffet spread offered alot of options. You had your raw bar with fresh oysters and ahi poke etc., a selection of antipasta and fresh salads & veggie medleys, hot food with a mix of Hawaiian & Continental cuisine, and your dessert bar. Notable items: their fish of the day at the carving station (I forgot the type, but it was delicious!), the pork tenderloin also at the carving station (savory with a hint of sweet), the bread pudding was really rich and delicious, and they had fondue with an assortment of yummy things to drench in chocolate. I think we paid - well, he paid (thnxoxo) - $49 per person for this, which I don't think is bad considering the seafood options, the view, and that it's a hotel restaurant.

Great salad bar with some of the best olive spread I have ever tasted. The main course was okay and everything was a bit on the over-priced side for what we got. Quality of the main course was lacking. The seafood was abundant but tasted only ok.

Best place on island for Sunday Brunch (buffet). Much better food and service than I've experienced at Hale Koa, Hilton HV, etc., for Brunch Buffet. Restaurant was clean and inviting with beautiful ocean and poolside views. Loved the Hammerhead Shark pool. The service was excellent! From the parking garage attendant to the hostess at the Naupaka Terrace entrance to the fabulous Lisa (our waitress). Lucky to live Hawaii and lucky to have discovered Naupaka Terrace. I will definitely return and highly recommend to all my friends and coworkers!

Came here for the Saturday Seafood Buffet. All the food was amazing we had: - snow crab legs with drawn butter: the crab was heated and incredibly fresh, moist and flavorful! - fresh and baked oysters from New Zealand - shrimp cocktail: huge shrimp! - steamed clams - pan fried mahi mahi with a miso-soy glaze (this was my favorite!) - seafood curry - clam chowder and garlic cheese bread - lup cheong fried rice - steamed veggies - mashed potatoes - tapanade bar (assortment of pesto, olive, tomato, hummus & others) - cheese & bread bar - cheese tortellini in a cream sauce - prime rib with au jus (sooooo tender and perfectly seasoned) - duck - assortment of salads - dessert - an assortment of cakes and pies and a chocolate fondue bar and lots of fresh fruit My favorites were the crab, mahi mahi and prime rib. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Scott was an awesome server - very attentive and personable. Kind of expensive for $50/person but worth it for a special occasion!

This was our favorite restaurant in the Ko-Olina area. Scott was a terrific waiter and so helpful. The location is open, garden style, and was perfect for an early dinner because we had a great view and we had a great breeze. Their salad bar, which was all-you-can-eat was the best! Lots of great toppings. We had to go back for seconds. They don't have ranch but if you ask for it they will bring it to the table. The seafood pasta was delicious and their fish of the day was delectable. The short-ribs are delicious too. If you get there between 5-6p some of the dinner menu items are cheaper.

Went here last night for my mom's birthday. I had made reservations via opentable and they had my reservations. We were asked if we wanted the buffet or of we were ordering from the menu. We wanted the buffet and was seated promptly. The staff was very attentive with drinks and any other utensils we needed. They even brought a clean highchair for my 18 month old daughter. The ambiance was very nice with the live music and the view of the glowing blue pool. The buffet was well stocked and clean. I saw staff replacing dishes that weren't even completely gone. The prime rib was made perfectly and the king crab was warm. The c like am chowder was awesome, my husband and I had 3 bowls each! Next to the soup was the seafood boil, which I almost missed because it was kinda hidden. The broth wasn't anything special. They were pretty slow in taking our used plates off our table at first, but then was pretty much on it towards the end of our meal. I asked for green tea Au the end of our meal and got 2 different tea bags a new bottle of honey and lemon. The even provided a tea timer to help me steep my tea to perfection. All in all it was a pleasant night with great food. I'd say it was worth the $50/person. My toddler was free and my preteen son was discounted. My husband and I will certainly go back. The only gripe I had was that parking was pretty much a hassle. So happwn we went on a night they were showing a movie on the beach. Valet told us they were full and to try parking lot,and to go back to them if we didn't find parking. Wth? Either they were full or not? Parking structure was full and i did see a few valet parking spaces! So Whatever, at least I didn't have to pay for valet or parking, the structure was free that night.

This is a review for dinner. The service was terrible and the food was below par. It took 10 minutes for someone to bring some waters, 15 minutes for someone to take our drink and food orders, and 50 minutes for our entrees to arrive. We ordered prime rib and coconut crusted mahi mahi. The prime rib was half fat and not seasoned well. Also, it was over cooked on one side. My theory is that it was sitting on the piping hot plate it was served on for way too long. The mahi mahi was incredibly dry. We left at least half of it, uneaten. Head over to monkey pod for some pumpkin ravioli or something. At least they comped our meal.

I liked their salad and other food. When the restaurant is not busy, you could have Naupala Terrace menu food at the Hokulea Lounge at the 2nd floor.

This place was absolutely amazing! It was a great ending for our Aulani vacation. We have dined at all the restaurants at Aulani and decided to try somewhere new in the area. I made reservations online at Open Table and we arrived at 8pm. We did valet parking, which was complementary. In this JW Marriott hotel, there were other restaurants, like Chuck's (I have to write about that in another review), an Italian restaurant, and also a Japanese restaurant, which was closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays =( Wow! That's almost half the week it's closed! Bummer. Anyways, the hostess showed us to a nice table right by the salad bar. I specifically asked to be inside because I forget my jacket like usual. She recommended checking out the sharks and the stingrays. I seriously thought they would be in a tank or something, but you can literally see them swimming around their pond by the restaurant! How exciting! Now, another woman came by and filled our waters and took away our extra settings. The hostess gave my son a giant doodle pad to draw with, which kept him entertained while we decided what we were going to drink. Our server, Scott, who was excellent, came by and took our drink order. He recommended the lychee martini, which we could not decide if we should get, so he got us both one each. I ordered the Filet Mignon and my boyfriend ordered the Lamb Chops. Each came with an all you can eat salad bar. So we checked out the salad bar. The salad bar was so clean and organized. There was even a soup area! How amazing. There was minestrone, which was oh-so-good! The bread station had lots of different types of breads and spreads. Some of the spreads were pestos and bell peppers, about 6 different types. Then, came the actual salad bar, which consisted of four different types of salads, two of the ones I tried were the caesar salad and baby spinach. There were lots of different types of dressings and toppings. Some of the toppings I recall were bacon bits, chopped boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes, raw sliced onions, shredded cheese, parmesan cheese, croutons, and I can go on and on! Such a great deal. After filling up on two plates of salads and two bowls of soups, my steak came. I asked the waiter not to fire up my steak just yet, cause I wanted to eat my AYCE salad and soup bar LOL. So anyways, after my steak came, I asked for some A1 sauce. This is a MUST HAVE for me. The chef offered to make me a steak sauce, which I was open on trying. However, after tasting it and not liking it, I continued to eat my A1 sauce. The middle of my steak I asked to be cooked just a little more, not that it was raw or anything, but I just like it not so RED. The chef made me a different sauce this time, finding out I didn't care for the last one. This new sauce had some peppercorn and spices in it, although I still found my A1 sauce to be the winner! Haha, sorry. For dessert, since we were celebrating our anniversary and all, we received a complementary creme brûlée. Unfortunately, I was too stuffed to eat anymore. So my son ended up finishing that for us. He luckily got a fruit platter and pineapple juice on top of his AYCE salad / soup bar. =)

Came here with friends for the Saturday night Seafood Buffet and we were so impressed with the quality of the food and the customer service. Our servers - Scott and Jenelle - were incredibly friendly and accommodating with our party of 11. The atmosphere was great - live music, light breeze, and beautiful sunset. The price for the buffet is well worth it - large King crab was fresh and well cooked. My husband's favorites were the oysters and prime rib. There is a large and varied assortment of dishes. I'm almost sorry we hadn't eaten here sooner. We will definitely return again and again thanks to an amazing dining experience.

Located in the belly of JW Marriott's Ihilani Resort and Spa, this is a breakfast haven for the hungry and travel weary. My husband and I ventured into Naupaka Terrace on our first morning and waddled away from the all you can eat buffet an hour later. During the breakfast hours, you can either purchase from the menu or opt for the all you can eat buffet. The buffet is phenomenal and features food for just about everyone. My husband and I are both vegetarian and we had plenty to eat! There is a made to order omelette bar, a juicer with an assortment of local fruits, made to order mini-Belgian waffles, an amazing miso soup dispenser, and an assortment of meats. The service is also absolutely amazing. Once your juice or water glass nears empty, a server will appear from thin air and replace your chosen liquid with a colder and fresher alternative. This would most definitely be my last meal on Earth if I had a choice. I would obviously die from excessive food ingestion but that's not that bad a way to go out, now is it?

So they have a Friday kamaaina special, your choice of 3 entrees...I suggest the prime rib. Entree and salad bar for $30! Best part is the bottle of wine...$5...yup... $5. Don't know how long this offer will last. Anyway, relax at your table by the pool, sip your wine, play tourist, and enjoy the ambiance.

We were staying at JW so breakfast came with our stay. This was the best breakfast we've ever had that's been included. You get $40 per room. Hands down the nicest staff. Always nice and remembers you. On their game. Great breakfast to eat and nice setting to start your day. It is expensive to eat here if it weren't included with our room so be aware of that.

Went here to try it out since I send a lot of people here and I was quite disappointed. I went with 5 of my friends and when we arrived at the table, a couple of the cushions had spilt coffee stains and food on them and the menus were dirty and just laminated paper. I understand that its a poolside restaurant, but you would think they could at least wipe old food off of them (and maybe replace old, yucky looking ones every now and then.) We ordered our food and the waiter was already rude to begin with. He through my spoon for my latte down on the table and was so rushed in everything he did. When the food came, it was pretty good and a couple of my friends enjoyed the buffet. When we were ready to leave, one of my friends asked if we could split the bill and the waiter, Bradley's response was, "well, that's gonna take a while! You should've asked me that in the beginning!" RUUDE! Maybe as a waiter, when you see a large party, you should ASK that FIRST. And brother wasn't lying, it took him FOR-EV-ER to split 6 tabs! How difficult is it?! I memorized everyone's order...just saying. Then when I received my bill, he had wrote in his own tip and then scratched it out! WTH?! I am now very skeptical to send guests here and I was really disappointed. On a positive note, despite the service, we had a great time, the food was pretty good and their Mango smoothie is SO ONO! I do have to mention, that another waiter, I think his name was Eli? took our picture and was SO much more friendly than Bradley.

This review is for BREAKFAST I had breakfast out at Ihilani on a Sunday morning and it was absolutely beautiful at the Naupaka Terrace. The restaurant looks out over the pool, and ultimately the ocean and palm trees in the distance. Had the breakfast buffet (~$25) and it seems like a decent value for all that you get! Let's see, what did I get: egg white omelette with portuguese sausage, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and I asked for mozzarella and he went in the back to get me some and melted some FRESH mozzarella for me! They had other fillings: crab, shrimp, ham, sausage, peppers, garlic and man the list went on. portuguese sausage, rice, chicken apple sausage, eggs benedict, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, bread pudding, waffles, french toast with coconut syrup, fresh fruit, steel cut oatmeal, freshly squeezed juices (they have a juicer out on the buffet!), muffins, croissants, danishes. Phew, there was so much (and no I didn't eat everything on that list!). They even had box cereal and milk, but I didn't see why I'd eat that when there was such a spread otherwise! Good food, good value. I know $25 isn't cheap but for the spread i thought it was pretty good value. I mean a fresh glass of apple or orange juice is usually over $5 right there. Then a bowl of fruit is usually $10. The omelette puts you over your $25 right there. Then throw on some fresh waffles and french toast and you've already "made your money" back! I know, wrong mentality when you approach a buffet, but it's a hard habit to break. Don't come here if you're on a diet!

In the real world, this merits 4.5 stars but anything edible on the leeward coast of Oahu tends to earn 4 stars. This breakfast was excellent. I ordered the rancher's omelet, hash browns, rye toast for $17. Coffee w/endless pot was $4 more. Omelet was pleasant size, not overstuffed, well prepared, with 1/2 tomato on side. Rye toast was disappointing but okay, water service was slow, and I would have complained about lack of coffee refill until I noticed bottomless pot on my table. Service helpful and good. Compared to the Denny's style omelet at neighboring Aulina resort breakfast place ('Ama Ama, 2 stars), this was exceptional. Setting is pleasant and it only takes one or two bikinis to make a pool view enjoyable. Buffet is $9 more but probably includes coffee. I'll try it next time.

A variety of Asian Fusion foods to choose from. Breakfast buffet is good, as well as individual entrees. I enjoyed the Adobo Omelette, and to my surprise, fried rice was hidden underneath the omelette. I had best of both worlds :-) With one paying adult for the breakfast buffet, one child is free. We loved the ambiance of outdoors seating and being surrounded by ocean sounds, view of the pool, hammerhead sharks, and stingrays. My son was actually too distracted to eat. We can definitely get used to this every morning. The french toast looked scrumptious, just as one would expect from a 5-star hotel. Fast service and friendly staff!

Naupaka gets 5 starts for the pure copious amounts of crab during their exceptional Valentine's Day buffet. When compared with other restaurants in Ko Olina, this is one of the best options. The setting is fantastic (although they should put the sharks back in the lagoon) and the service complements the wonderful offering of meat and fish they serve. A fabulous evening for anyone in Ko Olina. Morning time also brings a top notch breakfast buffet which is reasonably priced and should not be missed.

This is your typical over-priced hotel buffet. You are paying for the convenience of eating nearby. The food is okay but not very exciting. Especially after going here morning after morning. I can't imagine why you would eat here if you were not a guest of the hotel. If we were feeling lazy we would order room service instead of heading here. They also serve a dinner buffet but we never tried that.

Great assortment of food and service was amazing! Got there to have a bit of the breakfast buffet and was there long enough to have the brunch buffet, which included prime rib and mimosas. Would highly recommend this place as the setting is beautiful and allowed us to overlook the pool and lagoon area.

We just tried the "Taste of Ihilani" buffet offered on Tuesday nights. It was AWESOME!!! It's smaller than their Saturday night seafood buffet but what they did offer was delicious. I loved the prime rib on the carving station. They were also kind enough to cook the medium rare pieces to well done for my mom who can't eat bloody beef. For me, it was just perfect at medium rare. MMMMMM! I also loved their truffled macaroni & cheese. Wow! Some use truffle oil TOOO much, but this was just right. Amaze-balls! My sis enjoyed the sushi too: spicy ahi maki & shrimp tempura maki. Their bread pudding with caramel sauce was decadent & a great ending to a wonderful meal. Scott & Randi were awesome servers. They were always there filling water & iced tea glasses, clearing empty plates & checking up on us. It's exactly what I love at a restaurant! I will definitely ask for them when we go back!!! Thank you, Scott & Randi!!! :) It was also nice that it was not crazy crowded there. I think its a well kept secret. I dare say that I like it better than the Saturday Seafood Buffet for that reason! I could get my food without waiting in long lines & there were no little kids sticking their fingers/hands in the chocolate fondue. The three of us enjoyed our first time at "Taste of Ihilani" & can't wait to return.

First of all, birds were flying all over, so that was gross. Our server really didn't care about us. It was clear that it was just a job, and she didn't like doing it. The food? Blah.... $40 breakfast for this? I think not.

We returned to Naupaka Terrace for Sunday brunch before heading back home and had another pleasant dining experience. As always, their offerings were widely varied and tasted very good. Their made to order omelets were light & fluffy, with the right proportion of eggs and filling. Their juice station was a hit with my kids as they got to concoct their own blends. Oatmeal bar had a wide range of toppings that would turn an otherwise boring oatmeal to healthy and yummy bowl of goodness. Prime rib and slow roast pork were also cooked just right. Surprisingly, their Brunch dessert section was more diverse than at their Seafood Buffet night; I especially enjoyed their chocolate cake and homemade bread pudding, which was moist and not too sweet. We were especially impressed with how they accommodate those with food allergies. They checked with the chef about their buffet items and even offered to make a dessert that would be safe for my child to eat. That level of service is above and beyond what one would expect. I would recommend Naupaka Terrace's Sunday brunch for those vacationing in Ko Olina, celebrating a special event, or just wanting to pamper oneself with good food and service.

A bit off the trodden path, the JW Marriott in Ko Olina is a beautiful location for sure. The Naupaka Terrace is one of the few casual dining options in the area but don't let the word casual diswade you. This is a very nice restaurant with excellent service. My family and I recently enjoyed dinner here and the best part of the evening was our extraordinary server "Grace." She was very friendly, professional and made the overall experience enjoyable. My parents enjoyed a few deserts from the buffet and raved about how good they were. Everyone enjoyed their meal and I would feel comfortable recommending Naupaka Terrace to a friend. Aloha

Came here twice this trip. Once for their Prime Rib buffet dinner and the other for their breakfast buffet. The dinner was so good. Thick, juicy prime rib - carved for you - however much you want. The buffet offered additional goodies like noodles, fried rice, pork belly, veggies, salad, soup... and the best part of all - dessert. Cakes, pies, fresh fruit AND chocolate fondue. For the breakfast, it was pricey ($25. That's $10 more than the buffet at Kolohe's - but they were closed because of the weather). Eggs, Eggs Benedict, Portuguese sausage, bacon, waffles, french toast, pastries galore... Yep, I stuffed myself silly. Overall, this is a decent place for a good meal. Really, really nice service. Definitely our 'go to' place when the restaurants at our own resort are closed. The terrace overlooks the ocean and their beautiful (but small) infinity pool. Shuttle takes you door to door from the Beach Club to the JW.

Everything was absolutely delicious! We started off with the fish sampler appetizer which had the best poki we've had on Oahu! The tomato bisque was great with our salads which were topped with homemade croutons. Our entrees were spectacular as well... but we definitely needed a to-go box. Our server Scott was just excellent and made our whole experience perfect by explaining all the special garnishes and components on our plates. We will certainly be back again!

This review is based on three breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners. Staff - Excellent and friendly. The manager, Curtis, was very nice, very friendly and incredibly helpful. 100% classy staff. Food - The Marriott burger was probably the best burger that I've had in years. Also, I love the fact that you can get something other than french fries with their sandwiches! The Farmer's Market Salad was the least favorite thing that I ate. Was not a big fan. The Seafood Linguine was my second least favorite dish. There was far too much butter in the sauce. However, the seafood was well cooked and the mussels were super yummy! Their lamb (ate some of the hubby's) was amazing - and I HATE lamb. So, take that as you will.... The chicken on their Sunset Dinner menu - fantastic. I wanted more. Even the hubby was jealous of my dinner that night. The breakfast buffet was the only way that I went - fresh fruit, eggs benedict, omelet station, fresh pancakes and waffles, etc. Never had a bad breakfast - that's for sure. The hubby tried the Traditional Japanese Breakfast (more than he could eat; this thing is HUGE) and the Eggs benedict. Both, he said, were absolutely wonderful. And regarding people complaining about flies - just want to point out for others - that this is an OUTSIDE/OPEN restaurant. Flies happen.

Great seafood buffet. The snow crab legs were tasty and moist, dipped in the drawn butter was a winner. Along with fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail, and prime rib what else could you ask for...maybe sushi or sashimi but didn't miss it at the time. BTW, they do give 10% kama'aina discount!

Eat like a king here! Great dishes with fresh ingredients...the only reason I'm not giving it five stars is the price point, $45 per person. We went here on Sunday for their champagne brunch buffet. The food was very delicious. I had a fresh omelet, prime rib, eggs benedict, salad, poke, waffles, fresh fruits, chocolate dipped strawberries...probably a lot more - I'm getting full again just thinking about it. The menu is STACKED with awesome favorites. There's also drink mixing station. I also enjoyed the champagne that was included with the brunch. The atmosphere was very nice. It was a very busy Sunday morning, but the staff there was awesome managing the crowds. Of course, we made reservations ahead of time, which is highly recommended, or else be prepared to wait 30+ minutes without a reservation. I would visit Naupaka Terrace again for sure. Probably for a celebration or something but we'll be back.

If you love flies with your food this is the place to go. We took my father in law for Sunday brunch and when I saw more flies dining than customers I knew we were in for a bad meal. The only item that was good happened to be the prime rib since the chef was there to guard it from flies. Most of there other food items unfortunately had been visited by you know what. It's too bad they do not enclose the dining area or better yet find a way to get rid of those nasty flies! Definitely will not ever come here again ever! DISGUSTED

I ate here during a recent stay at the Ihilani. I went for breakfast with my two year old. We had a lovely seat overlooking the koi ponds. She really enjoyed watching the fish! The service was a little bit slow, but I only saw one server in my section and she had around even tables. She was very friendly and personable so it totally made up for the slow start. I ordered the japanse breakfast for $18. It was huge! It came with a green salad, scrambled egg, tsukemono, fresh fruit, rice, grilled salmon and miso soup. A huge plus was that my daughter's breakfast was free. they offer free keiki buffets for children under 4. It was perfect because she doesn't eat much, but got to have some fresh fruit and toast. The breakfast buffet is decent. They have a great variety that is to par with yor typical buffet: eggs, egg benedict, portuguese sausage, link sausage, bacon, rice, miso soup, fresh fruit, toast/muffins, waffles, pancakes, omlette station, cold & hot cereal and a variety of juices.

I took Pops here for Dad's Day. Had the buffet. The buffet was expensive but after all it did have snow crab, shrimp, prime, lamb, marlin and pork loin (all pretty expensive). The service was good. I don't mind that it is a tad pricey because it's easier to get a table. I wish the view was a little better, and tables are seemingly placed wherever there is space. When I've gone and ordered off the menu the food was prepared very well.

We have been for breakfast here a number of times over the past 3 years. They charge you an extra $10 or so if you are there on Sunday because they throw in some champagne which we didn't want. This is a typical hotel breakfast buffet and therefore pretty similar to what you will get at most good hotels. However, with the downturn in tourism of late they have definitely cut back a bit and it is not quite up to the calibre of a year or so ago. The juicer referred to in other reviews in now gone and it was definitely a highlight. They still have fresh waffles and the required omelette bar is also still there but again nothing special to write home about.. All in all, it's a pretty standard high-end hotel breakfast buffet with nothing really to make it stand out (with the possible exception of the bread pudding with creme anglaise sauce). As far as other meals, we have eaten lunch there a few times, but again it's nothing special. The service is not particularly good either

Other than its very convenient location down the road for me, I'd say this a wonderful place to brunch. I highly recommend the buffet in the morning rather than ordering off the menu. The last time I came here, I took my mom and aunties for an early mother's day on the Saturday before. Booking through my yelp app on open table was a piece of crumb cake and would suggest anyone book their reservations that way if it's available. It was completely empty with the exception of a private party where we witnessed all sorts of entertainment, to include a MERMAID being pushed around the pool area by a luggage cart. Talk about random. I imagine that she was merely a co-ed mer-girl working her way through college. Can't hate on a mystical being when all she's doing is trying to earn an honest buck!

I took my friend here for a pre-Mother's Day breakfast buffet at $26 per person. It was quiet and only a few hotel guests were there around 9:30 am. The food and service were decent. The only problem was that like any other hotel, it's always way out yonder. You get to the lobby, walk through it while avoiding people darting from everywhere, walk down the grand stairs, and take a hard left to get there for the poolside view that was actually blocked by a mid-level wall/planter, birds, and half naked guests lounging around. Not the view I wanted, but it is a restaurant and I wanted to dine there. I've had better food, not that it was terrible.

Breakfast buffet was good and price was reasonable too..$54 for the gf and I....usual bacon, eggs, Portuguese sausage but my favorite was the eggs benedict..girlfriend liked the omelet station and waffles..nice servers and hostess was helpful also..gonna be back for Dinner buffet one day..good thing also was that we didn't have to drive to Waikiki.

Great service and amazing food. Our server Scott was working hard and always made sure to check in on us without being annoying about it. Prime rib is a safe choice for any meat lover -- super tender and perfectly seasoned. I loved my rack of lamb. Cooked perfectly and the preparation really addressed the "gamey" taste that usually makes lamb unappetizing to some. My mom, who never eats lamb, actually liked the piece she sampled. The onaga is cooked to perfection. If you love fish, definitely get the onaga.

I'm easy to please when it comes to breakfast buffets. Give me crispy bacon, white rice, and either pancakes or waffles, and you have 5 automatic stars. That's pretty much all I ever want out of a breakfast buffet. Sadly, many fail at this because they do not provide CRISPY bacon strips. However, Naupaka Terrace does not fail. They have the loads of crispy bacon, white rice, and a waffle station! Okay they also have an omelette station, seafood, dessert bar, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, fresh fruit, prime rib, etc. etc. But the crispy bacon!!! I would suggest that you get the BREAKFAST buffet if you're more of a breakfast person like me, because it's only $28 compared to the BRUNCH buffet which was $45. There are two separate areas you can take food from. The brunch buffet food is clearly labeled and I believe they check the food on your plate. (Good thing they didn't see the poke that was hidden underneath the bacon....)

Wednesday & Friday are the days to come and get the Pau Hana Special! MUST TRY before they close at the end of this year! It is only $30 and includes, entree choice of: prime rib, jumbo prawns or the fresh catch! It also comes with an unlimited access to the salad and soup bar!! AND... with the order of two specials you can order a $5 bottle of wine! What a great deal! Must save room for dessert though! I usually don't eat dessert but they do have the BEST Crème brûlée! The sugar does not come burnt like most places and the custard is the right consistency! It also comes with fresh fruit on top! You will just have to try it to understand... I am definitely planning a few more trips out here to take advantage of this Pau Hana Special!

Saturday breakfast buffet is $25 and plenty of options. Sunday breakfast options - I believe you had a choice of the breakfast buffet or brunch buffet? Not really sure what the difference is. Brunch was $45 and it was delicious - there was prime rib! And also ham and pork (more hot food options for breakfast). There was dessert too! There's a cool miso soup machine with several toppings you can put in your miso soup. There's also a juicer by all the juices (also next to the miso soup machine). There are bowls of fruits/vegetables that you can put into the juicer to make your own juice for the morning. There was a dessert table with several different desserts laid out on a long table for your choosing. Even some chocolate fondue for dipping! There is also a made-to-order omelette station - pick and choose what you want in it! Delicious! There was some poke and smoked salmon on Sunday as well. Dinner here is pretty good too. I would go with the steak option. And the creme brûlée for dessert! They say it's the best! P.S. Sad that this place is closing. Hope the food is just as good!

Went here for the evening seafood buffet! Drinks are $10 (lava flow, maitai, tropical itch), and the drink of the evening is $8. We had the lava flow and it was SUPERB! I didn't taste any alcohol but I definitely had a nice buzz after :) My friend and I didn't drink too much because we were saving our appetites for the oncoming seafood oblivion! I can't say much for a lot of the buffet, because all I really ate was the king crab with drawn butter, prime rib with aus jus and creamy horseradish, and a big plate of cheese. That is literally all I ate. Three plates of that, piled high, and it was no easy feat. I had to wear a loose fitting shirt so that I didn't look pregnant after.. It was worth it though! $50 a person, $10 a lava flow and kama'aina discount is 10% off your check! The people at the front seemed confused when we asked if they did kama'aina discount..I figured they would have at least been asked that a few times before. But all in all good food and good service! The only thing I don't recommend is the dessert..the dessert section didn't have any food name labels so I had no idea what some of them were. That could be bad if someone with allergies to pineapple ate pineapple upside down cake because there was no sign to warn them. But yeah dessert was really bad, I took a bite out of everything and was disappointed. I guess just stick to the seafood and prime rib and you won't be let down!

I've been here a few times in the past for their Sunday Brunch and have enjoyed it immensely. I've now recently been here a couple of times for dinner to take advantage of their Wednesday and Friday Pau hana special. For $30 you get a choice of either Prime rib, Mahi mahi, or Jumbo prawns with pasta. So far I've only had the prime rib because I'm pretty much a red meat fiend, and it's always been tasty and done to a perfect medium rare. With the dinner, you also get endless trips to the salad bar and if there are two of you that order the special, you can a bottle of red or white wine for $5...yep, the whole bottle for 5 bux! As with most of the places that offer an eat-'til-you-explode salad bar with an entrée, I usually fill up on the salad then take the majority of the dinner home. The salad bar at Naupaka is one of the better ones I've been to. They have a caesar, some spring mix, and a yummy kale salad as well. A lot of other things like fresh roasted beets and southwestern corn. There's also a soup du jour and a few different types of bread accompanied by some mediterranean style dips. All of it really tasty and fresh This special is going on 'til the end of the year up until the Ihilani closes down to renovate when the resort changes hands from J.W. Marriott to Four Seasons. I hear they'll be renovating for a year...damn. I'm sure I'll be here at least a couple Fridays a month until the close.

We were staying in Ihilani for a wedding and decided to have breakfast here on a Sunday morning. They have 3 different options for Sunday - prime rib brunch for $45 (include desserts, prime rib, roast pork & seafood), breakfast buffet for $26 (all breakfast item exclude items above) and menu service. We opted for the breakfast buffet. The service was outstanding. Our waitress went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. She did not rush us at all and was super accommodating. Foodwise - There were a lot of breakfast items to choose from. Omelette station makes fresh eggs your way, regular omelette and egg white omelette. Abundant of fruit choices, waffles, French toast, oatmeal, pastries, toast, breakfast meats, etc were constantly being refilled. The only thing I didn't like was the egg white omelette being a little too greasy. The omelette chef threw a big spoonful of oil in probably so egg whites don't stick to the pan. The regular omelette was delicious. And yes, I ate TWO omelettes. Great view by the pool, being in a resort the price was not too bad. The food was definitely better than Aulani's buffet selections. I'll definitely be back for breakfast if I ever stay at Ihilani again!

Celebrated Father's Day brunch there. It was a 5 minute walk from the Disney Aulani Resort. Great food and selection! The chefs here are very creative with their dishes! Here's a sample: (see my pic for full menu) -french toast -crispy bacon -prime rib -ahi and mussel poke -omelet station -"west side" locomoco (fried egg over pieces of steak with gravy!!) -bulgogi kim chee hash with Hollandaise egg -chocolate fondue The service was amazing here! Debbie was on top of it and provided amazing service. You get a view of the JW pool and ocean from any table.

While my last visit to Naupaka Terrace was bad and I didn't like the buffet, the wife and I did return for dinner after our wedding back in August 2013. On our last visit, we were able to order from the ala carte menu and the wonderful events staff at the Ihilani arranged for a special desert session for us. The service on our last visit was phenomenal! Complete night and day difference from the last time. Our server was very friendly, personable and attentive. She gave the impression that she really liked her job, but wasn't too serious about it either, cracking the occasional joke with us. But the food... how was it? When we visit Naupaka, I stick to my favorites because they're just that good! I ordered the Piadina (warm flatbread, Parma Ham, Nalo Farms baby Arugula, Dried Maui Pineapple, Shaved Parmesan, Sun Dried Tomato Aioli, and white truffle oil) and the Roasted Rack of Lamb (marinated in oolong tea, then grilled and smoked with kiawe wood smoke, and served with a garlic mashed potato, grilled vegetables, whole grain mustard crust, a red wine jus, and a buerre blanc). Both were amazing as always! We also ordered some Ihilani Iced Teas. A little sweet, but very good! For desert, we were then escorted down to the resorts newish fire pit, which was reserved just for us. There, our waitress served us some champagne and went to get our desert. On this occasion we were served a sampler plate containing a mini Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cream Pie, a mini Guava Cheesecake and a mini Creme Brûlée. All were good, but my personal favorite is the Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cream Pie, while the wife is a fan of the Creme Brûlée. Overall, the experience was wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to return, but only for the ala carte menu. I'm not a fan of the dinner buffet, so hopefully they'll allow guests to order the ala carte menu during the buffet again... if not, we may not be back for a while as we often come to dine while staying the weekend at Aulani.

I'm normally not a breakfast eater but business called so here I was. ATMOSPHERE: The entire restaurant is open air but covered from the elements via the hotel itself or umbrellas. Part of the restaurant overlooks the saltwater pond where hammerhead shark feeding occurs and the other half have a view of the small pool. Very casual. MENU: We went for breakfast so it offered the usual breakfast selections along with a buffet. FOOD: Loco moco - The single hamburger patty was homemade and tender. The dark brown gravy was alright, borderline super mild. It was topped with fresh mushrooms, two eggs (cooked to your liking), green onions (odd), and French fried onions, again odd but didn't seem out of place. The rice was good. I chose this due to a Californian raving about it. Poor guy doesn't know any better LOL. Good but definitely not great. SERVICE: Everyone was very friendly and professional. OVERALL: Nice place to grab some breakfast. Mainstream and nothing special, but good.

so we had a sunday brunch here! for a beautiful looking hotel, the service here was horrible! i mean we had a great view...but our overall experiance here sucked! the food was pretty good, fresh oysters, great prime rib, awesome eggs benedict, and a juicer to make your own juice! oh they had a omelette bar-they offered fresh crab!!! but, we had to wait for a long ass time for our water, than to get it refilled, our bill... there was birds eating off plates because there were no staff cleaning and taking the plates away! we really did feel neglected on our table...very disappointed. we would love to come back for the food, but they need more staff and better service!

Stayed at the jw resort so had to try out the breakfast buffet. The location is great. Right downstairs and easy access with nice view as you eat. Price for breakfast buffet a bit expensive for what is served but it's the resort. It's going to cost. Food: the basic continental breakfast foods. Omelet station and juicer, nothing really special, Staff friendly. We left our phones upstairs and were able to leave to get it and come back with no problem. They do not rush you to hurry and eat either, they actually let you enjoy your food time and view. They are also very tentative even though it is buffet style they make sure to check with you. Suggestion; for people staying at the resort they should have an option for wrist bands to pay a flat rate to get a wrist band for breakfast buffet and dinner buffet. I would pay at least $75 for a daily buffet wrist band

My friends chose to have a destination wedding here in beautiful Hawaii. While being here on this amazing Island paradise, I chose to stay at the JW Marriott. Besides the JW being a beautiful resort, The Naupaka Terrace is a great place to have breakfast/brunch. The staff are outstanding. Super friendly and always checking to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves. Our waitress was so kind and asked what were our plans while staying in Hawaii ,and offered some great places to visit and useful tips while we were here. The food is top notch. There is an omelet station to customize your own fresh omelet, fresh fruit bar with a juicer to make your own fresh juice, and all kinds of delicious breakfast choices to choose from. Besides our American breakfast favorites, they also offer Japanese breakfast items such as fresh grilled fish, miso soups, pickled vegetables and rice porridge. Great place to come to start the day.

Naupaka Terrace in the beautiful JW Marriot at Ihilani features a "Pau Hana Dinner & Wine Special" on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Living in Waipahu, we're only a hop, skip, and a jump away from Ko'Olina. In fact, the drive is easier than going to Pearl Ridge. The promotion offers a choice of entrees - Prime Rib (10 oz.!), Mahimahi, or Jidori Chicken. Each entree already comes with starch and AYCE soup and salad bar. Their soup was Portuguese Bean then Clam Chowder. Their Salad Bar comes with Caesar, Spinach, Pasta, Romaine, and Lettuce mix with all the toppings. They even had a table of baguettes and focaccia breads along with 4 spreads. Due to patrons helping themselves with "seconds" of soup and salad, our server told us to let him know when to "fire up" the entrees so it doesn't get cold. Now comes the kicker - for every 2 entrees, we're able to include a BOTTLE of Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon for only $5 each! Get the Sauvignon - it's actually a $40+ wine. We were also allowed to order "off the menu" and if the entrees were $30 or more, we would still get the bottle of wine for $5. What a deal! Dress very casually, meaning shorts and t-shirt would be acceptable. Seating is an open area overlooking the gorgeous circular-shaped pool. Self-Park is free with validation. Hurry, their offer ends April 25! I know we're going back! **In today's MidWeek, the "Pau Hana Dinner & Wine Special" will continue beyond April 25th. Great News! Greater News - they extended the offer to June 27!

I indulged here twice during my stay at the Marriott. The menu looked great, offering the usual morning fare, but after checking out the buffet options it seemed the best choice. If fresh pineapple juice or passion orange guava juice isn't enough, they have a juicing machine with various fruits and veggies to choose from. The bacon is perfectly cooked! Instead of the pre scrambled eggs i opted for the omelette station and topped it with the smoked salmon from the cold cuts area. Other hot foods include traditional eggs benedict, turkey sausage, waffles and pancakes. Save room for the bread pudding. Perfect as is but extra sweet with the vanilla bean sauce. If you don't want a Starbucks pastry or are looking for a sit down restaurant within the Ihilani resort, i can't rave about Naupaka Terrace enough!

  • Valerie M.

At first I was worried about the ambience because it is basically a casual dining restaurant. There is an upscale restaurant somewhere else in the hotel. But the view overlooking the pool, excellent service and quality wines make Naupaka Terrace a rare find. The chef's speciality is pasta and I had a very excellent shrimp scampi pasta with baby eggplant and some exotic mushroom which I can't remember right now.

Gentle breeze at Ihilani... This review is for the pau hana special from Wed to Fri. I have to say, this place is worth the trip. For $30, you get all you can eat soup, salad, and a choice of entree. And $5 bottle of wine! You cannot go wrong with this! The prime rib was so good and the jidori chicken was really tender. If you have a huge appetite and you want to feel like you are on vacation for a few hours, this is the place!

We live in Ko Olina and feel like Naupaka Terrace is seriously underrated and one of the best kept secrets...I'd keep it a secret, but they held a BEAUTIFUL, AFFORDABLE, TASTY rehearsal dinner for us on 11/10 and I just have to rave about them. I'll rave in list form so you can follow my happy ramblings more easily: 1. Their manager, Sean, was so friendly and flexible 2.They opened the restaurant on a Sunday night when they are typically closed 3. They created the full soup/salad/bread/dip buffet despite the fact that they'd usually be closed 4. When I had a "Bridezilla" moment and asked them to totally rearrange the dining room seating...they did...and I didn't feel too embarrassed because they were so nice about it. 5. The food is great and beautifully presented at an unbeatable price. 6. They take care of their Marriott Reward members (additional discount) and know that keeping valued customers happy is the right way to do business. 7. Relaxed atmosphere, poolside, with occasional live music. I'll stop at lucky number 7, with the suggestion to stop in and visit them for their sunset special and Saturday seafood buffet! Any of their fresh fish and seafood pasta dishes are my favorites, and their blended tropical drink specials are decently strong and very reasonably priced. Thanks again, Naupaka Terrace and staff!

Date of Visit: Valentine's Day 2014 My wife and I had just gotten married here at Ihilani on January 4th. Since our wedding day my wife would go through the teaser pics from our photographer and watch our same day edit everyday, so what better way but to treat my wife to a romantic Valentine's dinner at our wedding site. I wanted to have an outdoor setting so I chose the Naupaka Terrace as my restaurant of choice. They were offering a special Valentine's buffet dinner that I could not pass up, it included prime rib and king crab legs. What did I like about the night? The Naupaka staff gave my wife a rose after we sat down and the employees were very friendly and nice. What I did not like about the night? The king crab legs let me down as they were overcooked which made it hard for us to crack open the shells. The shells when overcooked are soggy so instead of cracking the shell, I had to use my steak knife to cut the skin apart. It became very messy and it wasn't easy to get a small piece of meat. Will I be back? I think for the price...once is enough but I don't mind coming back to relive the memories near our ceremony site on the lagoon.

Came here for the Pau Hana dinner special. Away from the crowds of Waikiki and Downtown along with the gentle trade winds gave way to a very relaxing Pau Hana dinner. Served on Wed. & Fri. @ $30 a person your choice of Prime Rib, Mahimahi or Organic Chicken Breast together with a soup and salad bar add $5 and get a bottle of wine. The prime rib was tender and flavorful! The salad bar had a Ceasar Salad, fresh spinach, and asstd fresh greens, pasta salad, and the usual toppings. The soup was delicious and the cubes of assorted breads with pesto, several other gourmet spreads couldn't have been any better. The service was attentive but not smothering and very friendly. The food came out within 10 mins from when our server asked if we were ready for the main course. I would definitely come back again! Pau Hana Dinner!!

Ate here for their Kamaaina/pau hana special. Had the mahi mahi, which was very satisfying. It was a great deal, with the $5 bottle of wine. The salad bar was okay, however, people were very aggressive at the salad bar. They swarmed like it was a feeding frenzy. It was a little off putting. Other than that, our service was excellent. My S/O was happy with the prime rib dinner. It was nice to get out to Ko Olina, see the sunset, look at the little sharks, and walk around Ko Olina. We even got to see Aulani for the first time.

One of my favorite place for buffet! Friday is the best day to go for seafood buffet venue. Ocean view and get to see hammerhead shark swimming in the pond. Amazing!! By the way hotel is transforming into four seasons this year.. Wondering if it is going to be the same...

I've eaten here multiple times for breakfast and had a wonderful time. I love their assortment of hot and cold foods, made to order omelets, fruits, pastries, and especially their juicer! I mean, who doesn't love making their own juice?! Any who, I was recently able to come to dinner here with my bf. It was such a different setting at night. So peaceful. We were greeted by the hostess and asked our seating preference, we couldn't choose, so she suggested the patio overlooking the hammerhead sharks. It really was a nice and intimate view. Our server was Scott, and he went over the new menu, which they recently changed to a steakhouse, which means everything was ala carte. I wasn't really in the mood for steak (shame on me) so I opted for their Birkshire Pork Chop, and the bf got the 10 oz. filet mignon. We both didn't order starches and chose the salad bar instead. We also ordered the Piadina and Big Eye Tuna as well as the Lobster Bisque. The breakdown of the food: Piadina: I loved the flavors of this dish! It's a flatbread with a sundried tomato aioli with arugula, parma ham, dried pineapple, parmesan cheese and a light drizzle of truffle oil. You would think that with the truffle oil it would overpower everything, but it didn't. All the flavors stand on their own, so good! Big Eye Tuna: I liked the different textures on this dish, the fish was definitely fresh, it was blacked and seared very lightly. The wonton it sat on was crispy, and I love the avocado poke. It's like fancy chips n' dip! Yummy! Lobster Bisque: This soup is so delicious, you can taste the richness of the lobster and cream and again, I love truffle oil and this dish gets a nice swirl of it (: Birkshire Pork Chop: I'm totally serious when I say that this pork chop tasted like bacon, in a good way. It was so good! It's served with a Hamakua mushroom cream sauce AND it's stuffed with smoked mozzarella! It was so huge, I couldn't finish it! Filet Mignon: It was well seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare, so soft, he didn't even use his steak knife, just a fork. My bf is a true carnivore, so he ate it all and really enjoyed it. The salad bar came with all the greens, fixins, and dressing. Oh and you gotta grab the garlic bread! It's garlicky, cheesy goodness! Service was excellent! Scott and Percy made a great team! I'll be back! :)

My wife and I enjoyed the Wed/Fri dinner special. The food, service and setting were excellent. Prime rib and Mahimahi and a discounted bottle of wine.

Loved our Easter Brunch! We were staying at the Aulani and were looking for a nice Easter Brunch for our party of 7 and boy, did we luck out! It was fantastic. It is conveniently located next door within a short walk. Highly recommend!

Was here on a Sunday morning and didn't realize it was a special Champagne Buffet Brunch which costs a whopping $45/person. Although my hubby is your typical skinny asian dude with massive appetite and super-hero metabolism, he could not even eat $45 worth of food! The good thing with this place is that kids under 4 get to eat free. During the week, the breakfast buffet is only $26. We should've came here during the week instead, as the $45 champagne brunch was just too much food -- they had a carving station with prime rib and pork loin. The prime rib roast was more like a sirloin roast - no fat cap and just lean and dry throughout. The food is mediocre, but for a breakfast buffet experience, it is comparable your average buffet quality. Service, however, was outstanding and extremely helpful and friendly.

We are staying at the JW and decided to try Naupaka Terrace for dinner last night. We ordered the Hawaiian fish sampler, the flatbread, the NY strip steak, and the penne pasta. There isn't much to say but that the food is really just mediocre. I think they tried to make the menu interesting (kona coffee rubbed steak) but the food was just fairly plain. The steak was $31 which isn't that pricey, but the quality was so poor. It was similar in quality to a steak at Chili's that costs about $10. The pasta could've came from Chili's too now that I think about it. We were completely underwhelmed. To top it all off, it cost us about $40/pp with no drinks. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Food and service was great. For dinner if you catch the special menu between 5-7 pm the price is decent but after that the menu is pricy. We also had breakfast at this place. The buffet is unbelievable. They have almost everything that you can think of. They charge $24/person but you can find anything that you like in that buffet. I will eat there again.

We ate here once for breakfast and once for dinner. It was fine, but not great. Price for dinner is better before 7pm. Overall the wait staff could have been much better. They didn't seem to really pay attention. I had to ask for coffee 3 times because she kept forgetting. At dinner the server seemed to be more interested in helping the newly arrived party of 8 than getting me my check. I waited 15 minutes and finally sent the family back to the hotel room. If there were more choices in the area I would try one of them,

Tried to make an Open Table reservation for Christmas dinner. According to the website there were no reservations but a the dining reservationist said they block all the reservations for this holiday. The buffet was great. Food was excellent, the only difficulty was the crab shells were sharp and rubbery making it difficult to peel. Some batches were overcooked so the meat had shrunk down considerably. The wait help seemed to be having a hard time with keeping up with the crowd, which wasn't really that crowded. Many of the food things kept running out with a big delay in between. Some of the staff seemed to be upset to working on Xmas nite, and moved accordingly. They were short waiters or they weren't skilled. It took 5-10 minutes every time you asked for something - drinks, napkins, etc. We were a part of the last big seating, but as the restaurant emptied, so did the servers. The table behind us left, and it took them about 20-25 minutes to clear off the table. Asked for the bill three times before it showed up. Overall, food = awesome; service = could have been way better; open table block = interesting.

This is the poolside restaurant for the JW Mariott. I went there for the breakfast buffet three times. At a glance it is like other breakfast buffets at hotels of this caliber. But the food quality is definitely higher than mostM. Everything tastes better. HIGHLIGHTS Industrial juicer so you can juice your ouwn fruit and veggies Fresh waffles with like 10 diff toppings like fresh blackberries, macadamia nuts, coconut syrup Oatmealwith 12 diff toppings Omellete bar with toppings like crab meat, shrimp, diff sausages Lots of fresh fruit Best dang bread pudding I have ever tasted For 24 bucks, it's a bargain (u can get 10% off with the ohana card available next tot the front desk) I know that. Sat morning when I wake up back home, I'll be missing the breakfast a lot more than the view(however spectacular the ocean view is in Ko Olina)

This review is for the breakfast buffet only. I guess we were trying to go somewhere "nice" to celebrate Grandpa's birthday (compared to other choices in Ewa), so the 11 of us went to Ihilani. Understandably, due to the fact that this restaurant is located in a very nice hotel, the prices are pretty steep. The breakfast buffet was $25 (although there may have been a kamaaina discount? The bill was lower than I expected.) and included your average breakfast items (scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, portugese sausage, eggs benedict, oatmeal, fruits, pastries, waffles, pancakes, bagels, yogurt, juice maker, miso soup, bread pudding and an omelet station). My faves were: eggs benedict, the omelet station (nice amount of filling choices), the oatmeal (steel cut?), and the mini waffles. The service was also good (pretty quick to refill coffee/water, take away dirty plates). The view, however, is not that great - unless you enjoy looking at bright blue and white pool umbrellas. They do validate parking, so that is a small perk. Overall, it's a decent breakfast buffet, but is not worth the drive (from in town) or the price.

We have lunch here once a year because we enoy the outside dining near the pool with the nice ocean view. We have always had good service, the waitress is always attentive and friendly as well. I usually order the prawns on pasta. I don't know what the actual name of the dish is but it's very tasty and there's more than enough so I end up with a take home container. They also have a very good Cobb Salad, it's gigantic! Warning that the birds do try to pick scraps at empty tables but that is normal for an open air restaurant. That said, I've been coming here for over 15 years and have never had an incident with a bird. While your here, take a stroll to the water feature where there are baby hammer-heads swimming about. The garden area is lovely too.

Went there for my mom's birthday dinner. The restaurants usually serves Pepsi but if you request Coke, they'll go get it for you from the bar. Wonderful service. Because of the recent storm and the runoff, we did see some flies and got bit by mosquitos but they did whatever they could to handle the situation.

Today was my second time here for lunch with the girls. The first time I went here, my friend, KA, ordered the opakapaka and it was either a frozen fillet or it was overly cooked because it was DRY DRY DRY!!! The service was good and maybe a few times I had to request a water refill (but I'm a fish and drink lots of water). No big deal. I don't remember what I had ordered but it was okay. It definitely wasn't something that stood out because I can't remember what it was. This time, there weren't that much people dining compared to the first and we had great service again although, our group size was 5 instead of 7 this time. I ordered the Soup, Sandwich, & Salad only because I couldn't decide on what to eat. Tomato Bisque was just perfect, the Caesar salad was a Caesar salad (nothing fancy about it), and the Tuna sandwich was perfect with just the right amount of mayo and celery to add the crunch. KA ordered the Ahi Sandwich along with DG. They enjoyed it w/their french fries (thanks for sharing KA). MG got the Cobb salad and that looked enormous. ST ordered the Chicken Tenders which she completed so it must've been good. She did mention that the chicken weren't completely covered in batter which is the way she liked it. Over all the lunch there is good and the price is right for a hotel restaurant. KA & I were lucky and actually got free parking validation....Sweet Front Desk Receptionist, Thank you!

Breakfast buffet: Really delicious selection of fresh fruit, including a make-it-yourself juice bar. Good coffee. Omelet station! Basically, everything you could want. I thought it was worth the price for the variety. Service was nice, too.

Beautiful ambiance, great brunch and good service. The Belgium waffles and coconut syrup are to die for. Great selection of tropical fruit and juices. I also Enjoyed the Japanese and local cuisine options (ie Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice). The only reason why I did not give this place 5 stars is because they need to refresh the food more often. The last 2 eggs Benedict were sitting out for about 45 minutes. However, we would go back again just for the waffles, tropical fruit and diverse offerings.

I ate here three times during my stay at the JW. My first night, I had the snapper which for the price was not worth it. First I thought I would get a whole fish. I am disappointed that this "island" doesn't serve whole fish. That's like Island Living rule #1- fish is served "whole". For the price I paid I prob could have gotten two whole fishes. Either way, it was a fillet. The waiter recommended the snapper or salmon. The snapper was grilled on a bed of veggies + rice. The fish was drier than I expected. I wasn't impressed with it. They do have a nightly pre fixe menu which I prob should have gotten. Second visit, had lunch here. Ordered the fruit salad which was filling and tasty. Third visit, brunch. Had the grilled fish sandwich with fries. I think next to the salad, this was my next best meal here. The fish itself lacked flavor (read my JW poolside bar review) but the sauce and topping helped it along. Fries were okay. They had a sunday brunch which I would have eaten but I was pressed for time and wouldn't able to enjoy the buffet fully (so I got the sandwich). Staff was pleasant.
