McDonald's is McDonald's. The drive-thru is a little weird after they've renovated it. There's also a Bank of Hawaii ATM Machine inside. The famous mural is there. Fun to look at. TIPS I use @ McDonald's ~ Get fries w/NO salt for freshly made fries. ~ Premium Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich - Chicken = BLT w/Cheese *As another food option* ~ NO ice w/your soda gets you more soda. The soda is already cold. Get more for your $.

Well, okay I'm not a huge fan of the drive-thru either...in fact if you try to access it the correct way, it's actually an accident waiting to happen (you have to cross oncoming traffic in order to get in). I thought the way it was originally designed worked a lot better than this way... On the more positive side, I think the majority of the workers there are terrific! There's one girl there named Stephanie who always has a bright smile and is very efficient. For me, she kind of stands out because she consistantly makes my trip through the drive-thru enjoyable. The people there ups my star rating!

Love their Angus Deluxe Sandwich ... but the staff needs to be a whole lot friendlier!

Damn it no sundaes tonight. Machine broken..sheesh. No moa ketchup In the dispenser either. Oh boy. This is like our third time this happened to us. BUT I still love mCDonalds! Always love the French fries...

It's McDonalds. You know what to expect and you get it. Newly renovated its drive through is a little strange with two lanes and the also lost some seating area that gave it its charm. I liked the old way better.

Do you need a soda bath? If so, hurry to this McDonald's right away, go to the drive thru, and order a large soda. A new worker--young, male and Asian--will be happy to forget to secure the lid and hand the soda to you with such "I hate my job" force that the entire left side of your body as well as the outside and inside of your car will be bathed in your favorite soda! Luckily, it's really hot and humid today, so a soda bath wasn't terrible. By the way, he apologized in the common way workers do when they don't mean it, filled up the cup again and handed me the cup without bothering to wipe the outside, so the cup was still dripping when I took it. I'm grateful to this young man though. Had he not been such a putz on the day I'm leaving for a European vacation (read my car was clean and I now need to dirty one more outfit that hasn't already been packed), I would never have thought of writing this review for all the other workers there. You see, my doggie and I are breakfast regulars and there are some AMAZING and efficient workers who have served me flawlessly for over 5 years. The four stars are for all of them, the way they call me aunty, and their pleasant morning smiles.

Here's some things that I noted on my visit with this location: -Rather spacious inside. Lots of seats available. -There are NO napkins available on the counter area. You'll have to go up and ask an employee if you need more. -Minimal handicapped stalls. -Depends on the time of the day, but parking can be a problem with Ross', L&L, Subway and Blazin' Steaks that are nearby. -Service was decent. The order we placed was accurate and delivered in a timely manner. -Interesting design flaw with the drive-thru. Some parking is within the drive-thru lane. So if you happen to park there, when you back out, be careful, you just might be backing in to a car waiting in line. It's not super major, but really an interesting quirk.

Omg why am I here again?! I forgot how slooooow this drive thru is, despite the 2 lanes! I've been stuck in this hellish drive thru for 25 minutes and still waiting for 2 measly burritos! And btw, there was no parking, it's usually full too :/ Someone pls send help, you can't even escape thus drive thru if you wanted!

  • Jesse P.

They were actually out of garlic Parmesan fries. How can you run out of fries, or fries flavor, at a McDonald's? And what's up with the NO DOLLAR sodas? What's up with that? Hence, the two star rating. Sorry, McDonald's, I'm not loving it.

Saw the commercial for the new buttermilk crispy chicken sandwich and wanted to try it....Sandwich was dry and didn't have taste, they just put a glob of mayonnaise on two pieces of chicken tenders and lettuce, tomato, and pickles and then they put that buttermilk bun, that bun must be expensive because that sandwich is no way worth five bucks. I'll stick with the dollar menu, at least you know what you're going to get.

What I can't stand the most at any store or restaurant is when a person BEHIND me is serviced first. I've been in line waiting like a total trooper then not recognized or acknowledged first is like a kick in the teeth, seriously. That is what transpired today at this McDonalds location. My daughter is diabetic and was in need of food and because the service here SUCKS or lacking common courtesy to take the FIRST person in line, she had to wait even longer?!!!! Then another cashier stood there and finally I had to ask if we could order...? So not right and we are never returning to this location. Teach your staff how to service CORRECTLY. My overall review would be -10.

I have nothing against homeless people, bless their hearts, but I do not like eating here with homeless people sleeping inside on the benches of the tables without anywhere to sit. Yup, it's hard to find a seat here since the homeless people sleep inside this mcdonalds :( The drive thru is also not very efficient, it's two lanes that combines into one lane. You order in two separate lanes then combine to one lane to pick up your food. Pet peaves is that one lane always moves way faster than the other then when you pick up your food, they're confused what you ordered because it's very difficult to figure out who was next after you merge into one lane. I decided to dine in today and my order sat on the counter for a while and no one got my food until I complained. Meh, I've experienced better, it's difficult that there are hardly any eating places in Kaneohe so stuck going here.

I love Kaneohe McDonald's - it's been my "go to" place since I was in elementary school! Now I can use the wifi, eat lunch and dessert, and enjoy the scenery of local people and the Koolau mountains.

Drive thru open 24/7 but crowded as heck. Feel sorry for some of the people that park in front of the drive thru, they can't leave since its blocked by all the cars. Food is decent, can't say it was the best McDonald's, but it wasn't the worst. But there are some items here you can't get in California like Taro pie (compared to the normal Apple pie) and the morning platter that consist of Portuguese Sausage, Spam and Rice. Only at a Hawaiian McDonalds I guess... Have it your way... Oh wait that's Burger King, ba da da da da, I'm loving it!

I frequent this McDonalds because it's close to my house and my workplace. McDonalds in general is not my first choice as far as food choices go, but it's convenient and cheap. Anyway this McDonalds is unique since it has a two-lane Drive-thru. I find this some what disturbing. What does it say about Kaneohe people when we have the only two lane McDonalds drive thru and one of the few Starbucks drive thrus? Not kidding when I say the line for the drive thru can get ridiculous especially in the morning. Sometimes I see people in front of me getting just a soda! Food wise I cant really critique since it's standard McDonalds fare. However I can say that someone here is putting way too much salt on the fries. Service here can be slow. Especially if you use the drive thru. I have gone to the drive thru at 10:15pm and my 1 order can take 10 minutes from order to pickup. Usually it's faster to just park and go inside.

Men's Restroom is a Disaster..... No TP or Hand Soap.... How do the employees wash / sanitize their hands without soap....Pickup a stack of paper napkins at register before using toilet....Ask manager for rubber gloves .....LOVIN' IT......

Had a Mcteri, fries, island iced tea after a 6 hours hike. Best Mcdonald experience EVER. Dropped by this Mcdonald on the way back to Waikiki. The environment was clean and neat (compare to the ones in the Bay Area) they must have recent remodeled, everything looks new. I love the Mural inside the Mcdonald (weird that it is inside MD). I heard the people in the mural were real local people who lived in the area. Some are still alive( I made this up, I actually don't know if some really are).

  • LL C.

mcteri burger, saimin, haupia pie, hawaiian ice tea the burger actually looked like the one's you see on TV, well put together. the teriyaki flavor goes well with the burger saimin broth was crisp, noodles were okay, but what do you expect from mcdonalds love the haupia pie and hawaiian ice tea

It's a typical McDonalds with the typical food and typical service. My issue is that their ice cream machine is frequently out of service but you don't realize that until you're at the drive thru speaker to place your order. They need to place a sign somewhere visible for people to see BEFORE we get into the drive thru line, because once you're in that drive thru line, you can't get out. And the drive thru line is pretty slow moving so you're trapped.

Moving to Kaneohe from Kailua, this became our regular McDonald's location now. It's like any other McDonald's. Service here is good. The morning staff is great. Afternoon staff could use a little coaching from the morning crew lol. The morning crew is always smiling and greet you as you walk up to counter. I like when my order is taken with a smile. The afternoon crew is hit or miss. Many little mistakes with orders. For example, missing toy from happy meal. Once we order two happy meals and got ONE napkin and FOUR straws. Really? Talk about not paying attention to detail. Since this location was demolished and rebuilt it is much nicer and cleaner. No play ground at this location. One thing that is unique about this location is the Hawaii Folk Sayings Mural. This mural has been in this location for as long as I can remember. I was happy it was kept and put back in with the new renovation. Cheap fast food...will always return for quick food and sweet treats. Yelps 31 Review Challenge #10/31

  • Elizabeth N.

They have always corrected mistakes for me and don't usually send me up to wait like the one in Temple Valley does when they're running slow. Tonight it was pouring rain and I guess they didn't hear me say cheeseburger "happy meal" so I ended up having paid for a Large double cheeseburger meal... instead of a happy meal. I tried to give it back but they just let us have it and comped the happy meal order we wanted. Thought that was nice even though it meant we paid more than we wanted and also got more than we wanted but didn't want to make a fuss, as I'm sure they didn't either because water kept splashing in their window from the rain. I'm sure they would have if I'd pressed it though. Anyway, the workers here have always been very kind to me and I like this drive thru more than most. At least when they constructed it they allowed the correct placement for the order/speaker box.. unlike many other locations where they are placed too closely and therefore rendered irrelevant because people can't reach them when they are ass to ass against each other like that, lol. :P

    (4)
  • J K.

The service level at this location is one of the worst on the island. It's like they don't know how service drive thru. Ave waiting time in drive thru here is 15 to 20 mins. Piss poor. You could probably order a plate lunch from l&l across the way and get you food before getting your food thru this drive thru. I can't leave because I'm trapped in their drive thru....argghhh

What I find most interesting about this McDonald's is the freaky, but fascinating mural on the wall. My kids had a great time today looking for all kinds of things in it. I had a real hard time explaining the part where the woman is throwing out the baby with the bath water. I'm not sure I succeeded in explaining the phrase to my children's satisfaction. We had planned to go to another restaurant, but we didn't think we'd have time before my daughter had to go to the Veteran's cemetery for her girl scout Memorial Day gig. This is a pretty big store and nicely renovated. The man serving us today looked to be in his mid to late 70's, and he was very friendly. We all talked about how many people from that generation really understand the meaning of customer service. I am trying to lose about 10 pounds and I blew it again today. Okay, I got a salad with grilled chicken on it. But I know what really canceled out my good intentions...the creamy salad dressing. Folks, that's a bit like buying a zero calorie diet soda to go with your Oreo cookies and ice cream! I really wish I didn't love fattening food so much! A few weeks ago I came here when they had "McDoubles" on sale for about $1 each, and I bought a bunch for my son's basketball team and they loved them. How easy is that?! Yes, I know some of you rich folks with $200 (trying to look poor) distressed jeans are looking down your noses at me while you buy snacks at Whole Foods and slacks at Abercrombie & Fitch, but hey, I'm part of the other 99%...get used to it!

Major fail! We were in there meeting a friend, my wife went up and bought drinks and we sat for a lil bit talking. After a few minutes I decided that I wanted a lil some some cold and sweet so I went up to order a couple of sundaes. I just stood there waiting and waiting. Two managers looked at me but were far too busy talking to one another and the employees somehow didn't notice me. After a few minutes I said out loud, Wow service sucks guess I am not going to give them my money" and walked away. Before completely leaving the area I spun around and looked at one of the managers name tag and walked out. (Sadly now I don't remember the name...Young, skinny asian guy who doesn't give a damn) Thankfully I do not frequent this fine establishment nor do I frequent any McDonalds period. The service from the management and staff was despicable. My wife said they were like that when she ordered the drinks earlier too. I see that they are trained to believe that they are doing us a favor by helping us and I should be incredibly thankful that I have the privilege to give them my money. I am so sorry McDonalds for expecting too much from you.

They don't get your order correct and apologize for it. They also don't offer you anything in return and then ask you to move up your car-up and wait for the order that they made a mistake on. NOT GOING to these McDonald's again and I hope everyone who reads this stops going there.

This McDonalds has a 24 hour drive thru. It was recently renovated and it is one of the nicest McDonald's I've been to. The door into the restaurant is an automatic sliding door which I really like because you don't have to get your hands dirty. The inside is all new and very clean. Bathrooms were clean and had automatic appliances (toilets and sinks). Overall a nice McDonald's.

Goodness, I can't believe I'm reviewing McDonald's of all places.. After last night's experience I feel I should. Aside from the fact that they usually forget to give straws, dipping sauce, NAPKINS, etc.. We ordered our meal and I guess the car in front of us didn't know there was two windows so they drove to the food pickup. We ended up at the window to pay and the guy confirmed our order so we paid and drove forward only to realize he only took half our order (-____-) but it had been right on the screen. Come to find out the people in front of us ordered some of the same stuff we did so they charged us for that. So they were going to charge us the difference. We paid $7 something w/ a $10 bill. Our total was $13 something, so that's $6 extra, but they calculated $3 since we paid with $10. Thanks for saving us $3, but how can you mess up our order in the first place when you confirmed with us at the window and then not be able to add? We had to wait for so long and I got really irritated. They also forgot to give me croutons for my salad. :( After the renovation, it is a lot better having two drive thru areas and the dinning room is a LOT nicer. I don't think it seats as many people as before though, yet 24 hrs is nice! :D OH, and their ice cream machine is constantly broken. It's like a weekly occurrence. :'(

Painfully slow drive through with inefficient staff. 2 separate drive throughs that merge into one but one drive through was attended to and the other was not. Took me 20 minutes to get coffee. I won't return to this location.

I hate Burger King but next time I think I'll go there for better service. I went through the drive thru and asked for a drink carrier, the only thing I got was two bags shoved in my face. The girl then walked away from the window. She looked grouchy.

So the reason I gave this particular McDonald's a two stars, is because of the fact when you select two stars, it says, "Meh. I've experienced better. That is very true when speaking about the this location. I like the old design better. They had a huge mural in it, (come to think of it, I've never been in the new one so I don't know if they put it back up) and I remember when I used to trip out about the weirdness of everything in it. I remember Arnold "The Govenator" Schwarzenegger being a part of it, some old guy flying, some other chinese guy with smoke coming out of his eyes and mouth. As a kid I was afraid yet mesmerized, and I really miss that painting. When I got older, before I'd go to church there was this one kid selling papers and it was always a guarantee that he was sleeping. Great way to not make money, but it gave me a good laugh seeing a young kid selling newspapers when he'd rather be sleeping in on the weekend. Enough complaining, I'm sure the old location was about to fall down, so they have to renovate. The food is the same I'm sure, just don't eat here 30 days consecutively or you'll die! Maybe. Did anyone see that movie?
